Glow of Thousand Wishes [Megathread MPC 3.4]

(this one doesn't count to limit of two mpc thread per phase)
It was still about six in the evening, but the sky has already sufficiently dark. Not only that, the crystals in Ys have its glows dimming and dimming. Yet, the locals does not look surprised or panicked. Instead, they came inside their own house, and dimmed their own lighting, making the city even more dimmer. Before long, there are soft music coming out from somewhere. Solemn, gentle, as if readying itself for a grand finale. The locals began to smile as they took out their boat and crystals. They slowly headed northeast, where the palace is located.
Myriad of lights created on the road as countless of humans and Digimons, locals and tourists alike slowly walked. The crystals on top of their boat shine with their dearest wishes, dim as it might be. The light creates spectacle when looked from above... but those who came slightly late would be seeing a distant palace glowing from the light reflected from countless of crystals gathered there.
Those who cannot see would be seeing some of the royal family member already there in their most formal outfit, each carrying a boat with their own crystals in it. Their boat are intricately made. This year, the boat is decorated with several miniature flowers and crystals. The wood that was choosen was... Maple, as expected.
Each of the royal family member, sans the patriarch-- the king that is, is waiting solemnly for the appearance of the missing Dorumon. Before long, however, finally he appeared. The king is wrapped with an outfit that looked far more ceremonial than the usual. This time around, he did not walk out as a Dorumon, but as a Dorugamon, as the clothing alone had so many decoration on them that it's impossible to fit them on a Dorumon.
Wordlessly, the king walked toward the edge of the palace garden, with just small stream dividing between him and his people. The king slowly swept his arm, letting the forefront of the people to drift their wishes to the waterway of Ys, then the ones behind them followed suit, drifting their wishes in.
This is merely the opening act still.

The wisp had been enjoying her time within the festival, but this was reportedly the most important part of it all. Or, rather, one of the biggest moving pieces. As such? Family was there. All of her family that she knew of was present here, her mom, her grandparents (even the elusive third?)
How does this go, mom?
That is an answer even I do not know. My sight does not answer me here, and this is...the first time this city has ever had a ceremony such as this. So...Choose your wish well. It may set the bar for an eternity, Mide.
Okay.
As the king waved his arm to beckon his people forward, mother and daughter would step forward. One was a Meicrackmon, shrouded in a white robe, with teal highlights. Something you'd find at Luminas, though the accents were more in line with Ys. The other was much smaller, her cloak this time extending further than normal. She was shrouded in blue.
The granddaughter of Ys would set her wish down first. It was one that was not for her at all. Rather, it was for her friends. All of the ones she had come to hold close to her heart.
She wanted them to be well. She wanted them to be safe. But most of all, she wanted nothing more than their happiness.
The mother, though, the Fatebreaker would set her wish down.
It was more generic.
A wish for peace. A wish for a break so that she could take the time to...be a person. To be that which Mide and Tomina deserved.
Was that so selfish to ask?

Mandrake, Lothar, and Kshin made their way northeast towards the palace. Mandrake and Lothar were walking side by side while Kshin toddled just in front of them in an excited manner looking back occasionally at his adopted caretakers making sure he wouldn't lose track of them in the large crowd. Since Kshin was too small to carry the boat with the crystal in it, Lothar was holding on to it.
Feeling a bit bolder Kshin moved a bit ahead of Mandrake and Lothar causing Mandrake to call out "Kshin, don't wander too far ahead." Listening to Mandrake, Kshin slowed down and glanced back at both Mandrake and Lothar.
"I wonder what this palace will look like. Mandrake. Lothar. Have you two seen it before?" Kshin babbled in an excited manner but both Mandrake and Lothar managed to make out the words of the excited youngster.
"Sorry, Kshin, I'm afraid this would be my first time seeing the palace myself. What about you, Lothar?" Mandrake said.
"I only saw the palace when I was very young but my parents were too busy with their work to take me for a very close look." Lothar said.
Soon the palace came into view the very sight of it causing the small family to be in awe at the sight of it. Soon they caught sight of the King beckoning forth his people and they got in line behind what appeared to be another family. Kshin saw they had boats as well and the curious little Dorimon spoke up calling out to the family in front of them. "Hey there. Are you guys from here or are you visiting like we are?"

Another group of seven could also be seen getting into line shortly behind Mandrake and his family, consisting of Hana, Data, Rush, Sakura, Mint, Dahlia, and Sakura's father, a burly Knightmon named Wilhelm. The group of seven only had three boats among them, since the twins and Sakura's parents had no wishes of their own to make.
Seeing Mandrake's family ahead of them in line, Hana made a mental note to go say hi to them after the ceremony. The group of seven kept quiet as they waited for their turn to release their wishes. They didn't want to be disrespectful, after all.
When their turn to release their wishes would come, the first one to release their wish would be young Mint. Wilhelm would help his young, adopted son to place the boat into the water as the Terriermon made his wish.
I want my friends and family to be very happy and have lots of fun!
...Yggdrasil, this child is too pure for this world.
Afterwards, Hana would step forward and release her own wish. Her wish was aimed at four particular individuals.
I wish that Kaya, Hawkeye, Adrian, and Shoutmon would manage to forgive each other for what happened in the past. None of them deserve to suffer like this.
Hana didn't even know if her wish was possible, but she'd hold on to the hope that things would work out for the better. Was that selfish? She honestly didn't know.
Last but not least, Sakura came forward and released her own wish. Unlike the previous two, Sakura actually stated her wish aloud for the rest of the group to hear.
"I simply wish to be the kind of person that'll make my family proud of me."
"You've already accomplished that, my precious cherry blossom." Dahlia said, as the Lilamon placed one hand on her daughters shoulder. "There's nothing you can do that'll ever change that."
"Aye. No matter where ya go from here, I know yer heart will lead ya to always do the right thing. And that's why yer mother and I will always be proud of ya, my little crusader. Even if ya aren't so little anymore." Wilhelm agreed as he stood alongside his wife.
The supportive words from her parents brought tears to the Lillymon's eyes as he hugged her parents, which the two Ultimate-level digimon gladly returned. Even little Mint joined in the familial hug by hugging Sakura's leg.
The sight of the family's group hug honestly left Hana, Data, and Rush feeling awkward, like extra wheels on a bicycle. The trio was unsure of what they should do, and were about to leave to give the quartet some privacy when Sakura and Dahlia pulled them into the hug as well. "Where do you three think you're going?"
"Yeah! We may not be related, but you're still considered to be part of this family!" Sakura added with a sly grin. "You're not getting away that easily."
"Aye. What she said." Wilhelm agreed.

Post by Alpha & Beta on May 21, 2021 4:35:41 GMT
They hadn't been around the festival for long themselves, the twin Hackmon's Alpha and Beta were pretty early to arrive in time to see everything slowly dim around themselves with just the distant light of the palace letting lighting up the night. Alpha was perfectly fine in the dark, considering his abilities he could see absolutely everything pretty easily. Though his mind was occupied with thoughts for a few moments. 'Wishes..." He simply thought to himself, apparently that's what this whole part of the festival was for. What good was it to wish for things? There didn't seem to be much of a point to wish to the Hackmon.
Looking back at Cici and Beta beside his thoughts wandered to his time in the festival with them... It was nice, nicer then he had spent with anyone in a long while. He wasn't the most comfortable around them and they seemed to understand that, letting him have his distance and doing their best to understand why he acted the way he did. Maybe that was enough? Alpha doubted he'd ever understand the point of wishing for things to be better, but maybe just this once he could at least try.
Eventually it got time for the three of them to give their wishes to the king, Alpha was ahead of them so it was clear that he would probably go first. While he still didn't fully have an idea on what to wish for he simply decided to wish for the first thing that came to mind, even if he'd never have the strength to say it aloud in front of them.
'Beta, Cici. That you two will never have to go through hardship like that again. I suppose that is my wish.'
He simple thought to himself as he let it go, meanwhile his twin Beta had none of the problems that her brother had with this whole wishing thing, her mind was set from the moment she came to the festival and the wish that was clearly on her mind so strongly was the only thing on her mind as she gave hers.
'I only wish that me and Alpha can get closer. I never want him to leave my side for as long as I'm awake.'
Deep down she really cared for her twin, despite the differences between them she looked up to him greatly. Wanting nothing more then to spend time with her brother.
When it came to be Cici's time a lot of wishes came to mind, a wish for her wound to heal fully, a wish that she would have the strength required to help Alpha and Beta. Deeply within her mind though resonated another wish to meet the man she loved, even if it was simply one more time. However as she came up to deliver her own only one sprang forth in her mind, one that she felt needed to be asked.
'That these two kids may find strength, no matter the hardships.'
as she said that though the Sistermon bent down with a smile, both hands on the backs of the two Hackmon, Beta giving her a large smile while Alpha looked a bit away, though he did so with a smile on his face.

"It's not too cold for you, is it Perry?"
With the setting sun, it was no surprise that even the city - which was sheltered from the worst of the Northern Prominence's weather - would become quite the chilly place. Nowhere near as cold as what it was like beyond the walls for certain, but still colder than normal; colder than what a certain Dorumon was normally used to. Already, she could feel her joints and muscles aching in protest of being in such climates - but Persephone would nonetheless put on a warm and relaxed smile, having the pain tolerance to ignore such an ache.
"It's alright, Baldur, I can survive being out here for the ceremony." She'd reassure her Hawkmon friend, instead - leaning over from her walker to nuzzle them. It at least helped, that she dressed warmly - a fluffy shawl over the flowing dress that she was wearing tonight, for this occasion. "I just might need some help, getting my boat into the water - you know how my hips have been, as of late." And indeed, there would be a boat and a crystal in one of her hands - a shining and gentle blue, not too unlike the markings and the bits of trash data that billowed off of Persephone.
"Well, we're both here to aid with that, howevermst it be required!" Baldur responded with a salute of their free wing (prompting a chuckle from the Dorumon,) the opposite holding onto a boat of their own. The crystal inside was a warm and excited golden, glowing brightly without any concern. The bird in question, meanwhile, appeared to be wearing a suitlike vest with a bow - looking every bit like an assistant to Persephone (which, in a way, they were!)
Perhaps the quietest and the least fanciest-dressed of the siblings present though, was Hilda. She seemed to be in quiet contemplation as she stared down at the boat in her hands - and though her vision was as blurry as always, she could still make out the electric cyan the crystal had taken on. She wasn't sure what, exactly, to wish for at first - so she hoped that this wish that she made at (admittedly) the last second would be plenty sufficient, and carry the feelings she had, even if she did not articulate them very well.
But before too much longer, their father would appear - Hikaru making quite the entrance, as Dorugamon. With a long ceremonial outfit to match his large and imposing size, the king certainly looked the part for being the one to lead in this ceremony... Persephone smiled warmly to her dad as he stepped to the front, and as he gestured out with his arm...
... The people would begin to deposit their wishes into the stream, so that they may be carried away upon the waters.
Baldur would be the first of the three to place their boat in the water - watching with a gentle and serene smile, as it joined in the flock of other fellow boats; bearing a wish of laughter and joy, in a world that was oftentimes marred by conflict.
Next was Persephone's boat - Baldur taking it gently from her, so that she wouldn't have to bend over and away from the walker to place it down. Letting the boat drift away with its kin, Persephone would smile gently; a wish of long and healthy lives for all that she loved, be they family, friend, or even the citizens that looked to her as the gentlest of the princesses.
Hilda, though, would hesitate a little initially; staring down at her boat quietly. It was only when Persephone would prompt her - questioning "Is everything alright, Hilda?" - that the scarred Guilmon-X would add her boat to the growing fleet, and watch the multitudes of blurry little glows of light, a practical rainbow; a wish for strength, to protect not only herself, but others around her as well.
The trio would likely not linger too long though - for the sake of Persephone's own health, given the cold air around them. Once the final boats had been placed, and had long since drifted from view, it was likely that the three would make their departures then - returning to the castle, so that Persephone could warm back up beside a fireplace...

Well, a lot has happened to this group during the course of the Lux Harmony festival. Friends were made, chases began, fights broke out... it definitely was a busy time for not only Adrian and Shoutmon, but the rest of their friends as well. Alas, it was about time for it to come to an end. It was now six in the evening, the light was dim but it was not fully dark out yet. The locals were smiling as they each had their crystals and boats ready, heading down to the palace to let their wishes drift down the waterway.
Adrian, Shoutmon and Luneth each had a crystal and boat in hand as they headed down to the palace, their wishes ready to be sent down. Though neither of them looked that happy about it, thanks to the... confrontation they had with their friends Kaya and Hawkeye. "Have you talked to Kaya since that day?" Luneth asked Adrian.
Adrian shook his head no. "How could I? Things were so bad between us... and I can't believe she left Hawkeye all alone like that... we weren't right to leave him alone, either."
"I'm... I'm sure things will work out," Shoutmon responded, "They always do... and knowing Kaya I don't think she could've stood to be without Hawkeye for too long."
"She hurt Hawkeye too much. If you're right, it'll be a miracle if they even get back together at all," Adrian said in a pessimistic tone. But that's when he stopped dead in his tracks, as the sight of a very familiar friend came into view. That's right, it was none other than Kaya Matsui herself... with Hawkeye standing right beside her, as he usually is. And they each had a crystal and a mini boat with them as well.
The two pairs stared at each other for a few moments, unsure how to respond. So much had happened between them all, could a relationship like this even be salvaged? "Kaya..." Adrian muttered.
"Adrian..." Kaya responded. Suddenly she dropped her boat and crystal on the ground, both still perfectly in tact once they hit the ground. The thirteen year old ran over to Adrian... and gave him a big hug, tears rolling down her face. "I'm so so so sorry, Adrian... I shouldn't have attacked you and Shoutmon, I shouldn't have left Hawkeye alone, I-I-I... please forgive me!!"
"K-Kaya..." Adrian began to tear up as well as he returned the hug. "I was never mad at you. You had every right to be mad at me and Shoutmon with what you knew about us."
"I'm not mad anymore, and neither is Hawkeye! We're both so sorry... for everything!"
While that reunion was going on, Shoutmon and Hawkeye would just... stare at each other. Neither of which were as emotional as Adrian or Kaya, but there was still a lot of conflicting feelings between the two of them. "Hawkeye, I-"
Hawkeye simply raised his wing to interrupt the red dragon. "I understand now that you are not the same Digimon that murdered Eizo. I... I apologize for my behavior, for trying to kill you. I just thought that, after finally finding the one responsible that hurting them like they hurt me would make me feel better..."
"I'm sorry about Eizo. I wish there was something I could do to fix it, but I know that I can't..." Shoutmon looked back up at Kaya before looking back at the Hawkmon. "So are you and Kaya..."
Hawkeye nodded, a smile forming on his beak. "It was awkward at first to meet up again but we worked through it together... like we always do."
There was now one loose end left to fix once Adrian and Kaya were done with their hug. "Kaya..." Luneth said, gaining the young Tamer's attention. "I should've told you from the start that I was a Digimon... I'm sorry."
"I'm not upset about it anymore," Kaya reassured the Hackmon as she knelt down to his level. "I'm just glad to see that you're alright. I'm so glad that Luna was able to heal you the way she did. But... why did you hide it, anyways?"
Luneth blushed as he started scratching the back of his head. "W-Well, the answer to that is sort of embarrassing..."
"Perhaps we can discuss it after the event," Hawkeye reminded everyone as he handed Kaya her boat and crystal back to her.
"Yeah, Hawkeye has a point... let's go up there together. Maybe we'll meet up with some other friends along the way." And thus, Adrian, Kaya, Shoutmon, Hawkeye and Luneth all rejoined the group that was heading toward the palace. But they weren't the only ones in that group anymore. Before long, they were joined up by a bunch of their friends and acquaintances: White Wolf, Agumon and Gabumon (who Kaya immediately screamed about upon meeting, being a fan of White Wolf herself;) the AEGIS agents Johan and Dokamon along with their co-workers Zero, Speed and Psych; Yuji and his Tentomon partner Kazuo; and Weston the Wisemon, all of whom had their own boats and crystals ready to go.
The large group all stood together behind as they waited for the king of Ys to arrive, the royal family all shown with special boats and crystals of their own. Eventually the king himself appeared before the people, in his Dorugamon form no less with a beautiful ceremonial outfit. Hikaru walked towards the edge of the palace garden, slowly sweeping his arm and letting the people put their wish boats on the stream. The large group would each peacefully wait for their turn, making their wishes when it was time for them to add their own boats. Adrian and Shoutmon had very similar wishes...
I wish that, whatever comes our way, Adrian and I will always have our friends by our side.
And now, it was everyone else's turn...
I wish that nothing as bad as what happened to me happens to any of my friends or family.
I wish to get better at dealing with my personal issues, to become more and more like the person I want to be.
I wish for good luck to befall on the three of us... myself, Agumon and White Wolf.
I wish to find Grandmaster and make sure that whatever he's planning does not come to pass.
I wish to be able to experience more emotion somehow, be the partner that Johan wants.
I dunno, I wish for the newest computer or something... Yeah, Zero did not put much thought into his wish.
I wanna be better than I have been the past few days... I wish to change for real. Change for the better.
...this experience has been an eye-opener... I wish that, no matter what happens, I never separate from Kaya ever again. I want to always be by her side.
I wish that my situation with my father can change. I just want him to see who I truly am, rather than what he wants me to be.
I wish to become stronger, one of the strongest Digimon in the world, so that I can protect my Yuyu better.
Hm... I suppose I just wish for the best for both the human world and Digital World. Though a nice bottle of ale wouldn't hurt, either.
My wish is easy. I wanna be with Psych and Lanty until the end of time, they're the two I care most about in the world.
I just wish for the best for Speed. I do not care about myself, but to whatever divine grants these wishes... just look out for my brother, please.
The large group looked down the stream as each of their boats floated down along with the others. Hope was certainly overflowing in the air today, hope that their wishes could all potentially be realized one day in the future. But for now... as long as they had each other, a good group of friends is all really one could ever need in the end. And after tonight, this particularly large group would certainly come to know each other better and better in the days to come...

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on May 22, 2021 0:28:51 GMT
Wishes, huh?
Even before that fateful day, Kenny's dad would often remind him that he himself was responsible for making his own luck. He couldn't just sit around and wish something good would happen. And yet? The start of his own adventures all occurred because a freak bout of dumb luck, and that would practically change his life. For better or for worse.
Of course, regardless of everything, he wouldn't have it any other way.
Even as the dimmed crystals still let out a faint glow over the duo, neither he nor Skadi really could say anything. Not even when Papa emerged, Skadi couldn't even develop the tiniest urge to call out to him. Rather, her glance passed over to him, then the boat in Kenny's hands, and then her own, giving a content sigh. The tamer could only give a quiet chuckle as he patted her on the head.
What would they wish for, exactly? While neither could really bring themselves to say anything to each other, both of them had already figured out their wishes beforehand. Without saying a word, the two would give a small nod to each other before setting their both boats down into the river at the same time, letting them drift off in tandem with one another.
All they wished for was to be stronger, not just for themselves, but for their friends and families…
God, Buddha and Arceus willing, it would come true!
After all was said and done, Kenny would take a moment to dust off his pants before watching all the other boats drift off into the distance, "Just when I think the Digital World, much less this place, has practically run out of surprises, something like this comes along and practically just slaps my sorry ass back into reality." His gaze followed the new fleet of boats passing through the river, "I swear, I could just watch this all day and never get bored. Kinda reminds me of like one of those rubber duck races we used to have back at home."
Skadi would let out a tired yawn as she rubbed her ailing eyes, "Hey, speaking of, what's Kitt doing right now? I haven't seen him here yet." Indeed, a fair few of their friends, like Omen, Mae, Perry and Baldur had all set out their own boats onto the river, and leaving their wishes to drift into the unknown, but Kitt was only God-knew-where at this point.
Needless to say, that was more than enough ammo to get Kenny to start teasing her again, "What, you guys feel like snuggling up to one another in public again? In plain view? In front of everybody? We already have a big show going on, you don't wanna distract the poor folks here, do ya?"
End result: Skadi would lightly slug him constantly, over and over again, as her eggnose would glow a bright red, enough to give the crystals themselves a huge run for their money;
"S-shut up! How many times do I gotta tell you 'we're just friends'?"

Shi wasn't always one for ceremony, he didn't like crowds and he certainly didn't like being around others, people or digimon. Why he was still here and why he didn't just port out was a question on his mind, though he knew exactly why he was here, why he came despite not fully wanting to. His two little Agumon brothers at his side, both holding their own 'wishes' as they called them. Shi had one in his hand as well, for once he didn't have his usual hat on either as it was tucked away due to worry it might fall off. Watching the entire thing happen Shi hung back from the crowds of people gathering around the waterway and thought to himself.
Despite coming here to make a wish he had no idea what he would wish for, Shi was never the one to take stock in things like wishes anyway. Anything he wanted to do he would do with his own will that was just how things went with him. Still though he had to at least come up with something so he decided to wait a bit and let the twins make their own wishes first, while he attempted to come up with his.
Yuudai went first, his was clear in his mind from the moment he heard about this whole thing going on, he wasn't one to wish for anything ridiculous. Though the idea of wishing for a lifetime supply of food did cross his mind on one occasion or another. Being the first of the trio to drop the small boat down and thought to himself.
'I wish for the power to protect my family."
Yasuo on the other hand had taken a while to consider and plot out his wish, there were quite a lot of things the Agumon could choose from after all. Though he didn't fully believe in this whole wishing stuff like Shi he was still willing to do it, never hurt to ask for anything after all. With his thoughts in place he stood next to his brother and let the small boat into the waterway.
'I wish for my family to be safeguarded from harm.'
Finally it came to be Shi's turn, he still didn't fully have in mind exactly what he wanted planned out. There were a lot of things he could wish for, simple things like getting good grades on tests or for more strength for the constant battles he was thrown in. But looking down at the twins and all around at the people of Ys and tourists alike making their own wishes, possibly for important things. Shi knew exactly the one thing he wanted.
'I guess all I wish for, is for everyone's wishes to come true.'
That thought was clear in his mind as he set the boat free in the waterway, putting his hands in his pockets Yuudai and Yasuo came up to him, both with excited looks on their faces. "So Shi, what'd ya wish for?" Shi stood there for a second and just scratched the back of his head and let out a small sigh.
"World Domination." As those words left his mouth both of the twins faces, and bodies dropped quite comedically. They both picked themselves up rather quickly though.
"No way you wished for that, c'mon what'd you really wish for Shi?"
"You? Rule the world? You can barely address a crowd."
Shi gave a small shrug. "Yeah I didn't, but I can't tell you or it might not come true." Shi didn't know if that was how this works but it got the two of them to clam up real fast.

On the sideline of the festival, a Vmon and his partner, and also said Vmon's son stood. Each of them with their own boat and crystal ready. Their wishes... well, if they could guess, it's pretty similar to many other. Valt looked at his own boat in melacholy, while Dunraz seem to be trying to look for his mother. She's probably around! As for Ryouta himself, he hesitated slightly to even drift his wish.
"Oyakata, it's time you know?"
"Who the heck are you calling Oyakata? I'm not a Yakuza boss!" Ryouta chided Dunraz who grinned cheekily.
"....I don't know what you're going to wish for, Dad or you... but as for me I think I'll declare it anyway. There's no saying that the wishes will not be granted if you say it outloud, right?" Dunraz slowly crouched to the water and put his boat in. But before it could drift, he touched the crystal.
"...I hope Dad and Boss will have their problem resolved soon. I always looked at them having difficult emotions written all over their face....It must be really complex thing, so I hope that it'll all be resolved soon." and the crystal immediately takes lime green hue. Before he could say any other words, suddenly he felt a strong arm pulled him closer. Valt gently hugged his son with one arm.
"...I'm a failure of a father if I had my son worrying about me... Thanks, kiddo... that means a lot to me. Your dad, you see, he's old, he lived for a long time, and not all of it was fun. There were times where I hoped it could have been different. There were times where I wasn't even proud of myself. But even so... there will be time where I will tell you what's up. That time might be soon enough..."
"...It's alright, Dad. Take your time."
"What your Dad says... heh, thanks, Dunraz. You're lot more mature than we thought you are... but yeah, I'm not comfortable sharing these feelings just yet. For the meantime, let us keep our wishes in our heart, alright?"
The human and the Vmon also drifted their boat, side by side with the young Pulsemon's. To their surprise, not only their crystal on the boat but also their crystal on their D-NexT shined. Ryouta smiled.
"...I see, I guess we shouldn't have hesitated after all."
"Heh, feeling a bit silly after all of that huh?"
"Huh? What did you guys wished for anyway?" Dunraz asked.
"...Oh, just a little bit... 'are we allowed to be selfish'... is all." Ryouta answered as he walked away.
"Come now, Dunraz, let's look for your mom, shall we?" Valt suggested as he evolved to XVmon and put his son on his shoulder.
To those who have gone before us, and to those that we will meet again one day... you might be disappointed with us, you might think... "why are you hesitating?" Back then, years ago, it's so easy to stand up to what we believe is right. Because at that point, the world still looked at you as "just a teen". Now there are consequence of your actions, right or wrong. Admittedly, the thought of someone else we hold dear getting hurt for what we did is really scary...
And so we drifted the boat with a simple wish 'Tell us, whether we should keep pushing on or are we really not in the right". If we're not in the right, then... I guess we'll just retire.
...But in the end, when I saw the boat sailing, I knew that most of you would have told me to just push ahead anyway. Because... because that's what we would have done anyway back then, right? I guess I felt stupid right after that.
Friends, it'll be a while until we could be reunited. So... if you're out there, somewhere... know that we're still walking forward in this world, fighting for what we think is right. I hope you guys too are fighting for your ideals too... In that case, keep at it. I'll be rooting for you all.

"...Ojou, it's the time," a soft voice called out to a blond haired girl covered in a cat eared cloak. It's pretty cold after all, so she decided to wear something warmer. A Floramon variant looked at the tens of thousand boats that drifted along the waterway. As for Karin herself... the human looked the boat at her hand. The crystal has yet changed color Which means, she have yet to make any wishes so far.
"...Are you alright?" Freya asked.
"...I just... don't know if I should even make a wish."
"...Are you afraid that your wish will not be fulfilled?"
"How can't I? ...I have lost so many. Those who I hold dear slipped away from my hand like sands. I tried to believe that they will come back, that something right will happen soon or later... But so far, what's the need of wishing when none of it comes true anyway?"
"...Loyalty... is a pair with Faith. In turn, they're subset of Hope. Those who stayed loyal must cling to hope and trust. That... is what I think."
Freya was the one who drifted hers first. "...What I wish for isn't a reunion with a friend exactly... Everyone definitely think about it, but... what if I wish is instead... a path to make my wish for reunion came true?"
That snapped Karin out. "...Freya..."
"You have been hurt, multiple times. You're not even sure if you should forge new bond as you get more and more acquainted with more people... In the end, it caused you to feel if you don't make new friends, then you won't get hurt. You don't want to get hurt anymore with parting and days with no news of their safety. It's one thing if they just ghosted you... I feel you would have far better feeling if they ghosted you. Sure you'll be furious. But if you get ghosted, and you know they're fine that's much better right?
But you know, Ojou... for you especially... you aren't fond of this little game called 'waiting'. And that's why... you wanted to make some sense of what happened, and you wanted to cling to hope that there's an answer out there, of what happened to them, right?"
There's a resolution on the young woman's expression. To the Floramon's surprise, she dcided to drift the boat after all.
"...Oh? That was unexpected. What did you wish for?"
"That those bastards are still living so I can lock them in an armbar. I know that this wouldn't quite make me move forward just yet, but... imagining that one day, vengeance will be mine is quite the tempting, motivating feeling. I think we need to prepare for our next adventure then! Are you coming with me?"
To her surprise, when she looked back, the Floramon is now her usual d'Arcmon. "Let's walk forward then. Slowly, one step at a time, to our destination. Let's see... where are you going then?"
"Probably gonna enlist some help! Let's see if it gonna help some!"

"Criticism sure is harsh isn't it?" Koharu mused as she dipped her foot on the frozen water. You have to do this, you have to do that...she might be determined, but the more she got all those criticism, especially from those who she holds dear, it endd up chipping her sanity. Even the toughest of rock will also get eroded. That's her feeling seriously. SInce when people are getting way too involved? She wanted them to get involved, but she guess they got too involved? Then again, it feels like she's the one who's digging her own grave.
"...Say, Anego, why are you like... I dunno, so hardheaded about this whole thing... that you wanted to seek for approval?" Warg asked as he too dipped his feet on the water. It's a bit too chilly for his liking, but thankfully he seeon began to get used to it.
"....I wonder why indeed," Koharu mused as she watched boats drifting away. "...I know that recognition isn't quite as important as... enjoying what you're doing... but regardless, when someone you looked up to... suddenly critically, negatively said what they feel about what you're doing... I feel it bound to hurt, a lot... and well... with the more divide of activities not recognized over there when you're doing it over here, I guess.. I guess it pretty hard pill to swallow. You can shout as much as you want about this world, but... it won't be acknowledged. At this point I still wonder too why we stayed on that side when... everything that was impactful of our lives are all here."
"...I think," this time around, a green armored Commandramon dipped her feet on the water too. "...it's because you want this side to be acknowledged too. The fact that this world is making you grow... that this world is making you better as a person. And so when you wanted to continue your progress... of what you felt is important to you, and it was rejected by those who you hold dear, it feels like they denied your formative years." Kon-chan mused. "...In that case, I think I can understand you more... So what are you going to do? What will you wish for? A clean cut? Or perhaps..."
"Something like... 'I hope I can punch DATS director's face in' or something... for creating toxic relationship between this world and that world."
The two Digimons looked at their human partner in disbelief, but the crystal already changed color and Koharu lets it drift.
"...PUHA--BAHAHAHAHA! YOU'RE SERIOUS?"
"Heck yeah!"
"Of all wishes... punching DATS director face in. What a bold wish! Well, I guess knowing you, you're really serious! Alright, I'm going to put it in too." Kon-chan agreed, never been more spirited.
"Whatever comes from it, I think I'll accompany you along the way. Heh, HAHAHA! Of all wishes, KEHEHEH--I can't. I can't. My stomach hurts."
"Actually! I think I got more wishes, let's get more boats after all!"
"ARE YOU KIDDING!? MORE BOATS!?"
"Hey no one is saying taht we can only make ONE wish!"
"THINK ABOUT THE SPECIALNESS OF THE OCCASSION!"
"Exactly because it's special that we need more wishes!"
Koharu and Kon-chan kept going back and forth while Warg continues to guffaw out loud.

"...What are those three doing," Koutarou mused, shaking his head as his friends antics. More boats? Seriously? Just how many wi-- "Oi, that girl, she seriously bought ten!"
"Phahahaha! Oh dear!" Agito laughed out loud.
"But you know, what's the most surprising for me is you, Agito. I never thought you would still drift a boat although most of your wishes already came true... normally, you would say that having too man worldly desires is too uncouth or something similar."
"Fufu, I would have said that indeed. It's true that I have my wished granted so much this year and I have been very very very thankful of it. My best friend slash lover returned, and this time I could help him... and not to mention, we actually had a daughter together, yes, it was such a joyful thing... but you know, those called mortals are actually very greedy you see. Even if you give someone a thousand of dollars, they will be still wanting for a million... or so they said!"
"We use Yen."
The two looked at each other before chuckling.
"So we did! But either way, yes I do have a wish to make."
"Wish huh."
"Yes... that eventually, integrity and honor will prevail."
"...That's such a pointed wish and you know that."
Koutarou looked bitterly at his digivice. He have been at clash with himself. He feels there's no need to play nice anymore with anyone who just decided they wanted to screw someone over. However, in turn, his Digivice locked itself afterward. Of course that means he's having a hard time with his own self. It's not even dark evolution. It's basically a complete lock. He have never seen this before.
"Aruji, you have known for long that you, as a person, hate someone without integrity. Someone without principle... a honorless mongrel is the worst, isn't that what you said?"
"But why do we have to play nice when they're not even playing by the rule?"
"I guess, simply because that is how we roll. The moment we play by their rule, then that means we're as bad as they are! And by then, it's not fight between ideal and ugliness of selfishness. It's just battle between two uglies and no one would want to root any of the two."
"It's not like we're fighting to get rooted on anyway!"
"...Oh but we do," Agito answered with a smirk. "...No one in this world doesn't want to love themselves. No matter how much they hate themselves, they secretly want to love themselves. So the moment you loathe yourself... that's going to chip hard at your own self love. If loathing what you used to love and it was a positive thing, it makes you stagnate."
"....tsk."
'....Isn't that what that crystal telling you? That you wish there's a way for us to stay happy, despite all these mounting tension?"
"...Tsk, I hate how you're always so sharp when it comes to me."
"Fufu, I pride myself in that. Well then, there's no need to worry."
"No?"
"Yes, becauseit's not just you who's sick of this situation. I'm pretty sure a lot of them is sick too... this festival more than enough shows how it could have been on the other side, and yet it didn't happen. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that Yuuki is feeling the same. Trust in your friend, and be someone that you can love finally."
"...Fine I guess you're right... ah well." Koutarou let his boat drifts. "...Friends huh. In that case, let's look for your elusive boyfriend."
"Hm, I'm hoping to run into Nanashi today. Let's see if she's here."

"Mmm, looking at these boats and thinking them as fishes made my stomach growl," Gryz mused as he drummed on his belly. "But I admit, they looked very beautiful, these boats... And it's getting darker too, which means that soon, the peak is at hand..."
"...It is," Tetsu mused, smiling as he looked at his boat. Unlike the rest, he made it himself, painstakingly, for the past few weeks. Its craftsmanship isn't as pro as most of the rest, but the effort and the persistence is definitely showing. He looked happy at his own work, especially with the flower arrangement on the sides. Why? He's the one who grows those flowers of course!
"......So what are you hoping for, brother?" Gryz asked, inching closer to the edge to put his own boat. Gryz's boat is also self made, slightly more polished than Tetsu as he's sued to work with his claws and carving things with it. Tetsu's crystal already starting to take lime green hue.
".......Oh me? It's pretty easy one, honestly... We have seen our friends stagnating... I... I can't imagine how it feels... so I feel like, I want us to keep improving, growing as a person... but to be fair, I haven't... really hit that yet."
He sighed and looked a little bit demure. "...Say, Gryz?"
"Hmn? What's wrong?"
"...Mmmm, it's just, I'm wondering if we're... lucky, or are we're sinful for surviving when we can't even help someone out of theirs... I can't... help but to think, every single day, of that stormy days. It was supposed to be something... never happened, but... it did. It happened,a nd I can't help but to think... what are we in here for? Why can't we help more for survival? That's why... I created more and more shelters."
"Project Lifesaver, huh."
"So it was named," Tetsu smiled. "Part of me want to create something a bit bigger eventually... For the meantime it's just how to survive out there when you're ill prepared for such condition... places that you can enter and stop for safety. I might will eventually expand it more to... say, probably more safe areas. But for now I'm focusing on the south and the north... probably the desert after this."
"...Tetsu... I know what you're feeling, but... your guilt, they're misplaced. I'm sure those two don't want you to live thinking that you're sinning just because you survived. That's why, stay alive. Stay alive and keep moving forward. Grow, brother, and be a goal for people to look up on, so they may spread the same care you feel toward the other."
"....Gryz... heh, thanks Gryz."
"Hm, you're very welcome. That makes me know what to wish for though... i wish to stay beside you, for as long as possible, so I could raise your kids when you got one, and even your grandkids if my body stays heh! Now if only I can bend... oof, honestly, when it comes to a Bearmon's tummy you eiter goes all four or two foot and no in betwee--- Oh! OH-- OOOH---"
"W-W-WAI GRYZ!"
Unfortunately, the young teen's help came late as both the human and the Digimon barreled to the water, splashing them everywhere. Miraculously, none of the boat sunk and even flipped, as if something is keeping them away from the barreling two. This of course, includes Gryz's own boat.

The next to drop his wish is Haku, wishing for better future for Ys. Hoping that whatever happened to the city in the past did not occur anymore. He hoped for a future in where the city preserves. It's not a slice of paradise, but even then... it is his home. The only home that he know. No place in Digital World makes him more at peace than in here... that's why he feel it would be nice if this place stays here, forever.
Jill drifted hers next. She wished for safe sailing for the future. Ys to her is like a ship, a ship with destination called "better future". Honestly, she's pretty sure if this place could move, it would have moved like a ship... but either way, she wanted this haven to stay true to its goal, of being seed of development. That's all that she wanted... that they will eventually reach it, the better future where human and Digimon can freely live in the two worlds. Finally, once most of the wishes are made, the king let his own drifts.
What does he wish for? The king only wishes for simple thing, really... that the world will be a better, peaceful place. And he hoped that those who wasn't present on the time to see it grows... they will enjoy it when they're finally here. That's all he hoped... he hoped that his departed or missing friedns would be proud of what he's doing, and that they keep watching over him from where they are.
The King spreads his wings. The crystals slowly glowing brighter and brighter. Now the entire canal of Ys is shining with literal rainbow lights, enough to mesmerize anyone looking. Hikaru begin to build up his flight.
Attention to anyone who have yet made their wish, your wishes will soon get collected by the King. Please make your wish and drift your boat soon if so you desire.
This announcement would rang in everyone's head, in the language they're most comfortable with. This is MEMORIA, it seems. Speaking of which, around the city, holographic screens appeared, showing closeup of Hikaru that's building up for his flight.
