Alpha and Beta, pretty much the first characters I've made since my return that I've been pretty focused on the whole time, Clayton kinda teetered out and I'm waiting on a bit of stuff to get started on my Xros general, probably should've waited to app them but I'm stupid and this isn't about them at the moment, this is about my twin Solo digimon. Pretty much from the word go Alpha and Beta aren't like the other characters I've made so far, their entire start and first plot is pretty much gonna be a central focus for the two of them for a while.
Unlike Shi who just bumbles around a bit and Luna who gets involved in everyone's business Alpha and Beta's plot pretty much is their main focus at this time, everything they do will be a driving force to the ending of said plot and every skill they pick up will go towards this ultimate goal of defeating the Myotismon in their plot. A few things I didn't realize that'd happen when I first apped for the two of them was how much I was going to fall in love with designing their caretaker Cici.
So far I've loved ever idea I've had for her and basically went from my starter idea of just having her be their mother figure around the start to full on badass fighter with a not so unique but also pretty unique way of fighting that I feel like is going to be interesting going forward, the second thing is the idea for their other Mercenary that I've had, while nothing about them is set in stone at the moment the plans i have for A&B and their two Mercs has me excited.
So far I haven't done much with the two of them but already I feel like I need to make Alpha more rude, he's been planned out as this angry kid who thinks he knows how the world works and is better then everyone else but I don't think I've been playing that up enough for now, for now though it's fine since I'm still getting used to using the two of them. The decision to make them both little kids was one that I had sat on for a while, in the digital world being young and old doesn't matter a lot for some stuff.
I feel though that having the two of them so young helps make their characters be more believable in how they act, Alpha acting like an adult that's on top of everything despite himself not knowing too much and Beta being slightly dim but with the capacity to become incredibly smart. Both of them facing a harsh world and opponent that doesn't care if they're young, with the only two beacons of light being their Mercenary slot digimon that want to take care of them.
One thing I want to stress going forward is Alpha and Beta's bond towards each other, unlike my other twins they haven't started out full on caring for each other despite being relate. I know I'm not the first one to do this but I do genuinely want their bond to seem natural, slowly growing from strangers, to friends, to siblings and becoming an unbreakable chain that connects the two Hackmon. Even leaning on that bond to reach higher forms after champion, requiring the caring about one another to be the driving force of evolution, just like how emotions tie into tamers evolution of their digimon.
In terms of combat I really want Alpha and Beta to be my strongest characters I have with their abilities, both of them good at what they do and skilled in their own right but when combined become nearly unstoppable, basically going into the original point about Alpha and Beta being unstoppable when together, nothing being able to stand in their way so long as they fight as one. Though that will take a while for them to get there and they will start out weak and unable to work together, slowly becoming more comfortable with one another till the end where they show off incredible power by working as one.
I have plans for what happens after they defeat the Myotismon, though for a while after whatever happens to the guy for a bit I do have Alpha and Beta planned to just act like regular kids for a time, learning and growing just like normal before more plot related stuff about their lives come into play. This is the first character where I have a set end goal for them, something to strive for and I'm excited about it, hopefully others will enjoy the ride too cause I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I don't think I'll run out of muse for the two of them because I love the idea behind Alpha and Beta so much, two polar opposites leaning on each other because of their situation and finding a bond within that. I know it's nothing new and I never claim for my ideas to be interesting or new but I like it so that's fine.
Alpha and Beta, twin kids with a long and harsh trial ahead of them with a decent amount of friends but way more enemies then two kids should deal with. Though at the end they'll find an unbreakable friendship and will become stronger together then they could possibly be alone, hopefully becoming some of the strongest digimon around.
If you read the last two then, well I'm surprised you did. I'd give you a cookie but they're mine so instead just like the others I'll give a score. I'll rate the two of them a 8/10, I definitely see where I want this to go and have the skill to do so but I don't know if any of this could be considered even remotely unique or interesting. But I'm interested in it so that's all that matters to me in the end.
