"You know, I'm beginning to think that a good chunk of my life the last few days has been way too wander intensive." Zack mused to nobody in particular. He had found the spot where he could get into this new land where it seems like the creatures like Marigold came from. marigold for her part wasn't in the netted side pocket that had been her little compartment for the last couple of days, instead she was sitting on top of a stack of books tucked into the main pocket of his bag, her body half hidden beneath the line of the zipper, her face twisted into an unfriendly scowl. She didn't like the other creatures like her, though to be fair she didn't seem to like people very much either. The only thing that she seemed to like so far was Zack and the amount at which she was clinging to him both physically and emotionally was already starting to worry him. He understood where she was coming from, living an entire life cold and alone was enough to make anyone a tad antisocial but it still wasn't healthy. This was all on his mind because this place seemed to be bringing that part of her out in the worst possible way.
"Where were these people when I needed them. All of these eggs, all of these babies getting taken care of and nobody..." Zack stopped walking as he heard the hitch that was beginning to take root in Marigold's voice. He knew what that meant from his basic empathetic ability to recognize that she was going to start crying. He stopped, unslinging his bag and setting it on the ground, reaching in and holding her close to his chest, cradling her like an infant in his arms. "N-nobody ever wanted to help m-me!" She whimpered before she started bawling, a short lifetime's worth of trauma and loneliness cascading down on her in crashing wave after crashing wave. Nights spent cold, wet and helpless with a dry throat and an empty stomach. In the form she was currently in she couldn't even bare her own body an inch off the ground let alone get even the lowest hanging fruit or nuts to sustain herself. Zack leaned backward against the wall, rocking her back and forth like he was cradling and infant, hushing and humming a soft lullaby tune to her.
"Shh...shh, don't cry. Don't cry." He repeated to her, smiling softly down onto her with an even expression, the kind of expression that was meant to tell her that everything was alright. "You're not alone anymore, you're right here. With me. And you're warm, and you're safe, and you've got a full belly and a bed waiting for you. And you always will, I swear that to you." He said, cooing the words down to her. His entire world was focused on the tiny droplet of silver insect-blob that was rocking back and forth in his arms. He didn't even notice someone coming up to one side.

The Village of beginnings', Shi wasn't used to this place yet even after traveling the digital world as much as he did. Just a whole place dedicated to reincarnated digimon was a bit odd to him. It'd be like if a buncha babies just came outta a baby village in the human world or something. Maybe that's just what hospitals were for a start? Eh who knows he didn't really care to think about it. Right now he was doing a job, at least it was kind've a job. He wasn't getting paid for it or nothing but he didn't really have much better things to do. Sitting against a tree near the entrance of the village Shi had apparently accepted the role of guardian of this whole village for a spell. The usual caretaker had apparently taken a bit of damage after a small fiasco with some digimon so it was up to Shi to make it work with his partners.
Why was Shi given this task you may ask? Well it mostly had to do with the fact that he did help the village a while back from some large spider digimon that was totally killing the vibe, so they seemed to think they could trust the tamer to watch after. Standing near the entrance was Yasuo in his Rizegreymon form being aware and alert of the area around them. Yuudai though was in his Greymon form a bit away from the entrance playing with a buncha kids, the small digimon climbing around the Greymon. It was a fun time for em.
Still though it was a bit boring. Extending his legs Shi figured he didn't really needed to be the guardian for right now, Yasuo was more then enough for this. As Shi got up he gave a small wave to his partner to signal that he was gonna start moving, Yasuo gave a small nod and went back to watching out for anyone that would dare try and come to mess with a buncha children. Shi put his hands in his pockets and walked a bit further into the village, glancing over at his other partner they didn't seem to care too much about Shi moving, too busy with the kids it seemed.
Shi figured he could talk to the caretakers, draw some of the digimon (He did bring his sketchbook like always.) Or just wander around the village, he never got to see it too often so it was a bit interesting. Still though as he walked he did hear a bit of crying, which was not very uncommon around this place. After all there were a buncha babies around here. Still though might as well go see what was going on. Walking towards the sound he overheard someone talking, he figured it was one of the caretakers but then as he turned a corner he saw a human sitting there. Slowly walking over Shi said in his usual emotionless toned voice. "Everything alright?" Shi figured he'd ask, after all that might be his partner... Or might just be another random human who accidentally came here like before.

The Village of Beginnings. To think it had taken Stacy a year to so much as wander into the village. As she stepped foot into the village she began hearing the laughter of young digimon. Curiosity compelled the spirit wielder on as she soon spotted the babies climbing all over two large digimon she had never seen before but, judging from their appearance, they were likely variants of some dinosaur digimon maybe even twins.
Not far from the pair was a human male walking around and began following until she also saw another human male cradling what appeared to be an upset baby digimon. The human she followed had then asked 'Everything alright?'
Approaching from the side of the human sitting cradling the baby digimon, she knelt down and said "Hello there. Are you lost?" It was possible this stranger had just met the digimon he was holding and he may have been caught up in some anomaly that dumped him in the Digital World. With how strange the Digital World could be at times anything was possible at this point.

It actually took Zack a second to look up from cradling Marigold and see the two people coming at him from different angles. His first instinct was to stand up straighter and smile, letting his arms rest a little bit as he had actually been able to rock Marigold into a little bit of a restful state after the sobbing was stopped. He looked like he had been through hell, his short blonde hair looked dusty and was sticking up at strange angles and he had thick, dark rings around his eyes. Insomnia had been a bedfellow of his for at least a couple of nights by now just from the way that he looked.
"I'm sorry." He said with an apologetic but youthful smile, leaning himself back against the wall so that he could push up to his full height without using his hands, wobbling ever so slightly in a way that made it seem like blood had rushed to his head just form the slight straitening of his back. he really was more exhausted than he seemed if he was wobbling on his feet from just that. "This place brings up a lot of trauma for her. If this is the place where all babies of...whatever she is are supposed to be taken care of then something or someone went really wrong along the way because all she can remember is being totally alone somewhere out in the forest there." He said, jerking his head to the wall of trees that surrounded the outskirts of the village. He must be really, REALLY new at this because apparently he had never even heard the word "Digimon" at this point. "I've been exhausting every possibility I can think of to find some kind of useful information, I ended up stumbling in here and no I have no idea where I am, where I've been or how to get anywhere." He said laying it all out to both of them with a look in his eyes that he might just collapse at any moment. He was also turning the side of his body that was holding Marigold away from them so that if for some reason they charged him she would be as far out of harm's ways as possible. "Oh, by the way. I'm Zack, this is Marigold." He said, bouncing her slightly as it looked like she might be dozing off for just a moment until her eyes opened just wide enough to see the two shapes huddled around them and she suddenly bolted upright.
"Huh? What? Who are you? Step back, get away!" She shouted after the rude awakening by her own panicked instincts, looking back and forth from one to the other sharply like a cobra looking to strike at the first thing that got close. She calmed only ever so slightly upon two of Zack's fingers moving to stroke down her back, pushing back and forth along the smooth off-white surface of her body. Zack began rocking her again, hushing her slightly.
"Hey, hey, calm down. These people aren't taking me or you anywhere. Just relax." He said with the slightest note of exasperation.

The first thing Shi noticed was this strangers hair, sticking up in odd places and looking a bit like a mess. Had they been in the digital world for a while now? It was hard for him to say. "It's fine, though you might want to just sit down. No offense but you don't look too good." Shi said rather bluntly, his hand absentmindedly adjusting his hat as he usually did. Though what this newcomer said next did clue Shi in quite a bit. "I had heard there wasn't as many caretakers before, some digimon slipped through the cracks and even bullied one another. Unfortunately too late but I suppose it's better now."
"Though you don't seem to know what a digimon is, Suppose I should just rip the bandaid off. This place is another world, it's called the digital world inhabited by those creatures. Some small like your partner and these kids, others..." Shi simply motioned over to one of his partners, A RizeGreymon standing near the entrance.
Though when their partner work up it seemed they were a bit of the shouty type, Shi simply let out a small groan as the digimon asked who they were. "Well, I'm Shi Namika, I'm currently acting as a stand in for the protector of this place. Me and my partners over there." Shi mentioned lazily pointing at the RizeGreymon and Greymon, the latter who was currently being swarmed by kids.

As the young man, know known as Zach, got up she noticed what a mess he was but didn't need to say anything as the other stranger, now known as Shi spoke up. Shi's approach was bluntly honest and she thought she was bad especially when she was around Zach's age. While she had not yet mastered tact she was definitely better than she once was despite preferring Shi's more blunt approach most of the time. The little digimon with him, now known as Marigold, seemed to be in a defensive mode so the spirit wielder decided to try to do some damage control of her own.
"Easy there little one. I'm no threat to anyone unless otherwise provoked and I won't force you or Zach to go anywhere you don't want to. I'm Stacy and I'm a little different from you or Shi other than being older than many of the average humans who come to the Digital World." she said in a calm and non threatening tone.

Zack stared fully over the two different massive orange dinosaur monsters that he had somehow not noticed until just that moment. He blinked a few times very bluntly as if trying to avoid just screaming to high heaven in the midst of a mental breakdown. He closed his eyes, took in a few deep breaths, one after the other and finally found some way to center himself. Though he did let himself sit down, he head resting against the wall behind him, his legs crossed in the dirt and sand of the path. he turned to Shi first, nodding along and looking sharply from him to the two massive dragons standing behind him.
"Dragons. Alright, cool. I can dig it. If I wasn't too tired to freak out I probably would but right now I just do not have the required gas in the tank." He said, letting out a long, slow sigh. "Yea, it is better now. She's got me. She's fed, she's safe and she's warm. That's about all that I've been able to figure out so far so that's one success at least. I'm going to assume that "Digital World" is EXACTLY what it sounds like, some kind of cyberspace with these...being made up of data instead of cells. Something along those lines." He said, using the back of his free hand to rub his deeply sunken eyes.
Marigold was instead looking at Stacy because she had been the one speaking to her directly. She was puffed up in some kind of animalistic threat that couldn't help but be adorable because she was just so small and squishy. She softened only slightly not looking like she was ready to explode in the direction of anyone getting close, but not happy either.
"Relax a little bit, Marigold. You can't bite every hand that gets near us. Because that's going to get really complicated, really fast."

Well it looked like this newcomer was about to have a mental breakdown, poor thing. If only Shi had the conversation skills to say something to make them feel better. But he couldn't exactly say nothing while they were freaking out about his partners so he decided just to say the first thing that came to mind. "They look intimidating but they're total softies, wouldn't hurt a fly." Hence why one of them was currently playing with the little kids, if this would make Zack calmer Shi had no idea! but it was the best that he had so there was that at least.
Though the other human Stacy had made themselves know, Shi raised his hand acknowledging that he saw her, also that he heard what she said. "Different? You a Xros general or Spirit tamer?" Either that or she was a regular digimon in a holo-suit but that last one didn't make enough sense for Shi to say aloud.
Back to Zack he seemed to take to the idea behind the digital world better then Shi thought, either that or he at least just took it literally. "Pretty much, don't bother trying to use your phone or electronics, well not if you don't want them to get fried." Shi cautioned beforehand, he had lost his own phone that way before.
But then was the problem with the little digimon being so aggressive towards the other two humans. Shi thought for a moment on how to make them not get so angry at him but couldn't think of anything. "You can calm down, we ain't gonna separate you two or nothing. Just here to make sure you're both alright." Shi didn't know if she'd believe his word, given his usual cold emotionless tone but still he tried to sound genuine. "Wandering around can get pretty dangerous after all, it's a good thing you ended up here." That was just true of the human world also though.

Stacy smiled when Shi said his partners wouldn't hurt a fly before she said "I think it's cute that those kids can play with such large digimon and not have to worry about being harmed."
When Shi asked if she was a Xros General or a Spirit Tamer, which she knew was another term for spirit wielder, she dug into her left pocket pulling out her D-Tector before showing them as she said "I'm a Spirit Wielder or Spirit Tamer. You can use whatever term you're most comfortable with."
Stacy listened as Shi tried to calm Marigold down before she said "That and it would be hard to make new friends if you keep trying to bite strangers. Not everyone is trying to hurt you or Zack but it never hurts to be prepared for those who do mean harm. I've had to learn that sometimes the hard way ever since I started coming to the Digital World a year ago."

Zack and Marigold both took the time to glance upward at the heavy orange dragon-dinosaurs that seemed all too happy to be used as jungle gyms for the tiny Digimon. Marigold's eyes had wonder and awe in them, but also something else. A longing and a regret that were more than enough to break your heart if you dwelled on why it was there for too long. He eyes lit up, actually all of her was lighting up. Zack sat up straight as a rail as if he was expecting her to explode right there in his arms.
Instead she reappeared in a small shower of sparkles. She was bigger now, from only about the size of one hand to about the size of moderately big beanie baby or other similar stuffed animal. She had limbs now, which was nice, as well as a head, all of which was covered in glimmering gold. Zack just smiled, seeing her getting bigger than that, a whole stageplay's worth of emotion playing on his face before a spark of inspiration lit up. he reached into his bag and pulled out a small red bandana, wrapping it around her new neck until she was left with a cherry red scarf.
"Marigold." He asked, prompting her lightly. "Would you like to ask Mr.Namika if you can go play with his partners too?" He said, and his intent was obvious to anyone who could see it. Trying to push her to do something daring, to go out and interact with people other than him in positive ways. Marigold looked up at him, then at Shi, and then at the twin dinosaur digimon. She shrunk back away from them for a moment but couldn't help herself but lean forward again.
"But dad what if...what if I get lost, or they take me, or I can't find you again?" She said, her mind racing with every possible bad scenario as she gripped his arms with her new hands, bunching up the material of his sleeve.
"I gave you this nice red scarf. it's yours. and it means I will always be able to find you, no matter what. If you ever find yourself anywhere away from me, just hold onto the red scarf that your dad gave you and I'll find you. Always I will." He leaned in, kissing the top of her head and lifting her up on his hand. She fluttered up toward Shi and bowed her head, clearly more nervous than anything.
"Uh...u-umm...can...can I play with your Digimon mister?"

They took the time to look at Yuudai, who was currently pretending to be overwhelmed by the small force of children that was upon him. "No, I am losing the fight. Help me brother, you are my only hope." As he play fell against the swarm of In-training and fresh digimon that swarmed him he reached out towards the Rizegreymon near the entrance of the village.
His brother, Yasuo simply looked at his brother with bored eyes, though he had a smile on his face that betrayed his attempt to look like he didn't care about his brothers plight. "I'm afraid I cannot help you, this is where I leave you brother." He joked back as Yuudai the Greymon burst up, not fast as to hurt the kids but stood strong with them on top of him.
"Haha! My second wind. Thank you Yasuo for your scathing commentary." He mentioned as he moved around, swinging the many digimon around. Not too roughly but a decent speed so even if they fell they'd land pretty safely.
After watching that display Shi heard Zack as if his partner wanted to go play with Yuudai. Shi decided to stay quiet while they talked for a moment, hands in his pockets like usual as he waited for the digimon to come ask him.
Eventually exactly that happened. Shi pretended to think for a moment before giving a simple nod. "Of course, I'm sure Yuudai would be happy to play with you. Though my only request is you don't distract the one near the gate too much, we are still here to defend this place after all." Shi did make a promise to defend this place with his partners, Yasuo would be more then enough of a watcher for now, Yuudai on the other hand had a lot of playtime to get done.

Stacy watched as Marigold began to glow and thought 'It looks like she's digivolving.' When the digivolution process was finished she was now bigger looking more like a larval bee but still adorable. She then asked Shi if she could play with his partners.
Speaking of which, Stacy turned to see the children still using the Greymon as a jungle gym and watched as he fell in his play and called out to his brother for help but the RizeGreymon didn't help out. When the Greymon rose up proclaiming something about a second wind, Stacy couldn't help but chuckle. At some level she was tempted to digivolve and join the play but it was faint.
She then slowly sat down on the ground since there was no danger in the immediate area and even if there was a threat she had access to forms up to the ultimate level. It had been awhile since she didn't have to deal with some crazy crisis so she would enjoy the peace while she had it.

Marigold beamed at his permission and all at once she darted away, onwards and upward directly toward the massive dinosaur digimon in front of her. She giggled and buzzed around Yuudai's head. She snickered and gave him an innocent young smile that was enough to melt the hardest heart. She joined in with the other children piling on top of him, climbing and leaping off of him only to catch herself in mid air and continue to flutter around, taking advantage of her newer, stronger wings that were able to zip her around in the air like a real insect, stopping, backup and even spinning or rolling over as she flew. Zack smiled up at Shi, looking from him to the two dinosaur brothers who were watching both the children and the entrance. Making sure they would be both enriched and safe.
"You're a good man, Shi. You and your boys are giving not only her, but all of those kids the kind of fun and comfort that they all should have had all along." He said, sniffing slightly, trying to act casual as he wiped a rear away from his eye. It was easy for him to keep track of Marigold as she darted around, her deep gold body glittering in the sunlight and she stuck out even more with that bright red scarf that she was wearing. A few of the other kids complimented her on it, gathering on the top of Yuudai's head and pawing at it like she was the kid with the newest toy on the playground. Her chest puffed up and she looked like she was on top of the world being the center of attention for her peers.
He looked over at Stacy, smiling and giving her more than enough room to sit down. he looked up at Shi and patted the spot on the ground next to him. Prompting the young man to take a load of with the rest of them.
"Thank you. Both of you. You really gave her something that she needed. You gave me something that I need to. The peace of mind to know that she can be alright around other people. I owe you both for that. Really I do. If you ever need me..." He took out a scrap of notebook paper from his bag, tearing it in half and writing his number on both, handing one to each of them. "Never hesitate to call, no matter what, I'll be there."

Yuudai reacted in character for the new arrival Marigold. "Aha! A new powerful arrival here to attempt to defeat the great and powerful Yuudai!" Yuudai reacted accordingly to her, pretending to be pushed back by the smaller digimon. Though he never pretended to be hurt by them either, didn't want any of the softer kids worrying about the dino after all.
Shi was watching that go down when he heard Zack call him a good man, Shi simply rubbed the back of his neck never being one to take compliments well. "Mhm, We just do what we can really. I have a little sister so I know some kids just want a bit of fun. Yuudai's more then happy to give em that." The Greymon seemed to be having a lot of fun also, which was good enough for Shi. Noticing Zack pat the ground next to him Shi figured he knew what that meant.
Shi sat down next to him, leaning his back against the wall as he looked out to his partners, Yasuo standing with a focused look yet a small smile aimed at his brother. Yuudai surrounded by kids, it was a pretty interesting thing to watch. Though Zack had more to say mentioning that they really helped the kid. "Like I said it's nothing really, me and my brothers were happy to help." Shi said referring to the twins as his brothers.
Shi still took the paper despite figuring he wouldn't really have a need for it, best to have some contact information. However Shi notably grab his own scrap writing his number on it and handed it to Zack. "Here, this place can be pretty dangerous. Me and my partners are really strong. You ever find yourself in need or in over your head don't hesitate to call, we'll be there if we can." Shi said his voice dead serious, he knew how dangerous this place could be. "You too, Stacy." He'd hand over another scrap to her, while he didn't like giving random people his number so long as it was just for tamer stuff Shi would be fine, would rather a few prank calls then risking someone's life.

Stacy chuckled at Yuudai's words as Marigold joined the group of kids. Maybe in time she would see she didn't have to be so aggressive towards people. "It's no problem, Zack. She seems like a good kid and a little more socialization would be helpful for her. Maybe as you two make more friends she'll be cautious of strangers, yes, but not openly hostile at first sight." Stacy said as she leaned back resting her D-Tector in her lap.
Stacy looked over at Shi and said "I have a pair of younger brothers myself, Shi. They're nice enough but even though they are adults they can be a handful when we periodically meet in the Digital World. Curiously they are Spirit Wielders too. In a way we are like a team of superheroes that help those in need as silly as that may sound."
As contact info was passed around she dug her hands into her pockets finding some paper and even a pen. She then wrote down her contact info and passed it to Shi and Zack, as she said "Here's my contact info guys." The pen then disappeared back into the depths of her left pocket where it came from as she pocketed Zack's and Shi's info as well.
