Apparently the bit about the Girl Scout cookies that the human had made towards Weston was simply a joke. "Oh..." the Wisemon said, sweatdropping a bit. Weston could hear other people inside the house make quips about him making a joke, which Weston assumed didn't happen all too often if they were making that big a deal about it.
The young man introduced himself as Shi Namika, and said he expected something like Weston showing up to happen when he introduced his partners to everyone. "I see... they do indeed seem to be a handful, those two," Weston agreed as he entered the house and gone to sit down in the living room.
Weston's initial plan was to just not be a bother until dinner was served, then he could go home peacefully and not intrude on this wonderful family anymore than he had to. What he was not anticipating was the little girl Mirai's reaction. At first she just sort of stared at him, making the Wisemon feel slightly uncomfortable. Then she asked if he was a black mage like Vivi. "Hm? I'm sorry, but... who is Vivi?"
And Mirai had an answer for that question already. She pulled out her phone and showed Weston a picture of a tiny little wizard with a wizard's hat, a blue coat and a darkened face much like Weston's. Weston chuckled. "That picture really does remind me of what I used to look like as a young Digimon, myself. As for your other question..." Weston cupped his palms together. When he moved his top hand, in his other was a pretty-looking white flower. "Yes, I can indeed do magic. My name is Weston... you must be Mirai, right? I was with Yuudai and Yasuo earlier today when they came to find you."

When Weston mentioned them being a handful Shi just shrugged. "Eh, nothing I can't handle. Besides they're loyal if anything so it's worth all the hassle." He pretty much had two dinosaur at his beck and call, which was probably most people's dream to have that happen! "Plus I guess they're part of the family now, so I don't mind." They were pretty much just now his younger brothers, he has long since given up on changing that mindset the two of them have.
Mirai's face seemed to light up as he mentioned looking like that when he was younger, even more so when he pulled out a white flower. "Oh wow, That's so cool!" she was a pretty big fan of magic it seemed, though to be fair she was a little kid and what kid wouldn't be interested in something like that. "Oh, thanks for helping them find me. You must've been wearing one of those suits the two of them wear?" It was definitely a different look then the one he had now.
As she said that Shi came back downstairs followed by the twins close behind him. "Yeah thanks for that, Yuudai tends to get a bit over excited when someone asks him to do something, always wants to prove himself. Especially now since he hasn't known my parents long." He always wanted to be useful that Agumon, Yasuo usually just goes along to make sure Yuudai doesn't get into trouble though, which usually helps out quite a bit.
"Yeah, I just don't wanna be a burden ya'know. Especially with how much we eat I gotta be able to do something!" Lounging around the house and eating food wasn't exactly his style. "Also glad you showed up, this'll be great I promise." Yuudai gave his usually toothy grin.
Shi ran his hand over his hair looking at Weston for a moment, deciding something in his head before asking. "So I'll admit I am curious, what's a digimon doing as a teacher?" That was definitely the first question on his mind when Yuudai told him how they met Weston, it seemed a bit odd to the teen.

Part of the family... For some reason those words stuck inside of Weston's mind. Maybe it was because the Wisemon had never heard of a human refer to a Digimon, let alone two, as part of their own family before. Or perhaps... it was something else? "Well... as long as they are a mostly positive influence on your life, yes? They are indeed charming and loyal Agumons."
Well well, it seemed that Mirai was very impressed by the magic trick that Weston had displayed for her! But that wouldn't be the end though... Weston would cup the flower in his hands again, and when he let go the flower pedals magically came apart and swirled across the room, vanishing into thin air right when they were about to land. Let's see how Mirai likes that!
After Mirai thanked Weston, she asked if he was wearing one of those suits that Yuudai and Yasuo wore. "A holosuit, you mean? Yes and no. It was more or less a spell that does what a holosuit does but allows me to use at least some of my magic still, if that makes sense." And that was when Shi came back downstairs with the twins, saying that Yuudai tended to be a bit overexcited when someone asks him to do something. "Hmhmhm, I wish my students had that mentality. Half of them don't complete their homework before the due date, even when given ample amounts of time. Being willing to help out is a good trait to have."
Yuudai assured Weston that his visit was gonna be great, sporting one of his toothy grins. Weston wasn't quite sure yet, though, but he'd smile and nod nonetheless. "I'll admit that half the reason I accepted the invitation, aside from Kaya's recommendation, was my own hunger." To punctuate that statement, Weston's belly grumbled loud enough to be heard by those in the living room. He clutched his middle with his right hand, a visible blush appearing underneath his hood. "Sorry about that. As you can tell I am quite famished. I tend to forget to grocery shop, and before I remember I have already spent my paycheck on other necessities."
Shi then asked a good question, what was a Digimon doing as a teacher? "That's quite simple, actually; I love literature, both from the human world and Digital World. My initial plan was to teach the young children of Rosewood about literature, but I came to find that... none of them were truly interested. And while human children aren't always interested in it either, it's easier to keep them in a class as opposed to a group of Digimon children. Human world laws can be a blessing in disguise at times."

Yeah mostly positive, aside from the life or death situations they normally get put in for just knowing about digimon, the whole deal with Biomerge being a threat on Shi's life as well as the twins and the scar on his face due to his own mistakes with that world. Aside from all those little problems it was a very positive influence on his life for sure.... At least they get him out of the house every once in a while so that was probably a good thing.
Mirai's eyes were wide at the trick Weston had to show her, it was definitely real magic. Not like the street magic she had seen before. Mostly because Shi usually pointed out the tricks to those but since he wasn't doing that here it was probably safe to assume this was the real deal. Though what he mentioned about his not being a Holo-suit did make sense to Shi, if he was good at magic there had to be a spell similar to the suits. Saved on money at the very least. "It's a good trait but maybe next time you should make sure you know what you're doing before Yuudai." Shi looked down at the Agumon who let out a small awkward chuckle, it worked out in the end right!
"Fair enough I suppose, We had helped out Kaya before. It's actually part of the reason Shi's parents know about us now." If Kaya had done the same as Shi he didn't know, though thinking on when she came over to visit he had to assume that wasn't the case.
"Didn't really have much of a choice in the matter, between this scar and Mirai I just ran out of excuses. Had to tell the truth eventually." It probably went without saying that the scar on his face was the one he was talking about.
Though when Weston talked about why he decided to come to the human world Shi gave a small nod, affirming something in his own mind before speaking. "Makes sense, human's are more expose to that sorta thing. Can't imagine Yuudai or Yasuo sitting down for a class like that." They both seemed to learn more on their own then a class would do, plus as Yuudai was probably about to exclaim.
"Yeah, I'm a warrior so I tend to just focus on getting stronger. It sounds interesting but I don't know if that'd be for me, hehe." Bingo, right on time. "Oh, shouldn't be long now. Anything you wanna know about us? We've been asking all the questions so far, only fair." Shi wasn't too sure on answering any questions right now but hey, Yuudai was right that it'd been them asking a lot.

Weston could be seen smiling as he witnessed how amazed Mirai was when she saw his magic trick. Of course the actual mouth wasn't visible, but it was obvious that the cloaked Digimon was smiling nonetheless. "Magic is a very powerful thing in the Digital World, and it appears to be based off of how magic is portrayed in movies and books," Weston explained, "or at least I assume it is based off of logical deduction. The Digital World has been molded by human world data many times, after all."
Oh, so them helping out Kaya must be how she knew the three of them. Yasuo even mentioned how it was the reason that Shi's parents knew about Digimon now. "It is? What exactly did you help her out with, might I ask?"
After Weston finished explaining his reasons for coming to the human world, he was pleased to hear that they understood, with Yuudai saying that he was more of a warrior than a studier. "A warrior, you say? I thought I detected essences of magic power coming from you and your brother... interesting..."
With a quick affirmation that dinner would be ready shortly, Yuudai asked Weston if there was anything he would like to know about any of them. "Hm, I suppose it would be interesting to hear how you met your partners, Shi. The bond between a human and Digimon is not something I have observed all too much but it really is an interesting subject for me."
Meanwhile, a picture hung up on a nearby wall would catch Weston's attention. It was an image of Shi and his family together, at the very least. They all looked happy... in their own ways, of course. It made Weston feel a bit... remorseful, as he hadn't had anything resembling a family since Sorcerimon was petrified. One day... Weston thought.

Magic based on the human world huh, well that made sense given the limited information Shi had on that subject, though it wasn't hard to imagine things aligning like that, seeing it in person though? That was a whole different deal. "Makes sense, heck even these two copy stuff they see on tv into their fighting styles." Without saying anything Shi and Yuudai looked at Yasuo, who just whistled, pretended he didn't notice what Shi had said.
Though then came the question of what they helped her out with, with Mirai would answer before the trio. "Oh, her sister Mari and I found her little device thing. Got sent to your guys world and-" Before she could finish though Shi covered his sisters mouth with his hand while Yuudai and Yasuo went over to explain it to Weston.
"Basically Kaya's little sister found her digivice and they got taken there and attacked by an Ultimate level digimon." Yuudai decided not to mention how these events unfolded but mostly because they were trying to keep it brief.
"Everything worked out in the end but we've elected not to tell mom about that part, mostly cause Mirai still wants to hang out with Mari and if she finds out that happened. Well." Yasuo didn't need to explain further, they just hoped Weston kept it on the DL while Shi let go of Mirai's mouth, she seemed to of taken the hint.
Though Weston did say something about magic within the two of them, Yuudai crossed his arms and thought about it for a few moments. "Well, there's a small healing spell I can use when I'm my Mega form or Super Mega, Yasuo has some abilities like that also." Thinking about it where did Yuudai come up with the healing spell? Felt like it was just something always within him.
"Small stuff yeah but I don't think we could cast large spells or anything, we're better at energy manipulation then anything else." Yasuo more so then Yuudai given his ranged attacks, still though it was something the twins were good at.
Sitting back down and leaning into his chair Shi thought about his first meeting with the twins, though at first he assumed Weston was going to ask about his scar, good thing he didn't. "Fraid there's not much to say really, I came home late one day and they were just on my doorstep, with my digivice in my pocket." Shi brought out the digivice before thinking for a moment. "Though my digivice didn't always look like this, it used to be completely black, once we reached the level past Mega it became like this." It would be hard to believe given how bright white the device was but Shi didn't seem to be lying.
While Weston looked at the pictures Yuudai seemed like he was going to ask something, then thought better of it when he saw the look on Weston's face? Well what he assume was the look. "Hey, it's gonna be ready soon so lets go sit down, shall we?" Yuudai asked figuring he should try and get the topic away from family and towards family din- well it was a lose-lose situation so he didn't beat himself up about it.

"I believe it is a bit different for me," Weston said when Shi mentioned how the twins incorporated stuff they saw on TV into their moves. "I have been practicing magic for the last one hundred years or so, and it wasn't until I moved to the human world relatively recently that I had a chance to experience media's take on magic, yet my magic spells are very similar to what you might be familiar with as magic. Does that make sense?" It probably didn't.
Weston listened to Mirai and later Yuudai saying that she and Kaya's sister ended up finding Kaya's digivice, accidentally teleporting themselves to the Digital World and being under attack by an Ultimate level Digimon. "Oh dear," Weston gasped, "I am glad everything appears to have worked out. Let's hope she hides her Digivice better from now one." "Ah-choo!" Kaya suddenly sneezed while she and Hawkeye were watching TV at her house.
"Are you coming down with a cold. Kaya?" Hawkeye asked.
"That or someone's talking about me right now..." When Weston asked if Yuudai or Yasuo knew any magic, Yuudai said he had a small healing spell when he was in his Mega or Super Mega form, and Yasuo had some small spells too, but they admitted they were better at energy manipulation. "Understandable. I had to train for many, many years with my master to be able to fully grasp the power of my style of magic. Helped that I had my own innate power, for sure."
Shi then explained how he first met the twins. He explained that he just came home one day and they were on his doorstep along with his Digivice. "Interesting, how humans have met their Digimon partners in many different ways. My friends Adrian and Johan met their partners when they leaped through certain screens. Kaya herself fell through the Shibuya River portal and met Hawkeye there... and now you just meet Yuudai and Yasuo on your doorstep." Weston paused for a bit as he stared at Shi. "Though that does not explain the scar, however."
The Wisemon would continue to look at the family pictures, feeling a mix of happy and sad about his own family... and the lack thereof. He could feel Yuudai looking at him in the meantime. "If you have something you wish to ask of me, Yuudai, do not be afraid to," Weston said as he smiled at the Agumon. "I'm not as unapproachable as you might think."
Yuudai would be the one to suggest to go sit down for dinner. Weston nodded in response. "Lets. I am famished," Weston said as he headed for the dinner table. Luckily it was big enough to seat at least eight people, so with there being seven it was not difficult for Weston to be able to sit with the others. Though even when sitting down he was visibly much taller than the other members of Shi's family. Ah well, he would not bring it up. Weston now has nothing to do but patiently wait for the meal to be served...

When Weston mentioned his magic being similar to the stuff he sees on TV Shi just nodded crossing his arms for a moment before speaking. "I have a theory on that, a lot of aspect from the digital world match stuff I've seen over here. Maybe it's due to the two worlds being connected, the digital world adapting stuff over here that's itself digital and not real. Though not to an obvious degree. I highly doubt I'd ever see an actual anime character in the digital world." Obvious Shi had been thinking about something like this a bit, it help keep his head down and everything a bit more logical.
Yuudai and Yasuo seemed to understand as well, nodding along with Shi's explanation... Though what Weston didn't know is the first time Shi shared this Theory with them it went right over their heads. "Well whatever it is It sure is cool!" A very simple answer coming from Mirai, it 100% definitely went over her head but that wasn't too important now was it.
"Hopefully yeah, Mine never leaves my side. Can't tell what'd happen if it fell into the wrong hands, best just to keep it on me as often as I can." Shi reached down and pulled out his digivice from his pants pocket to prove his point, it was definitely something Shi didn't want leaving his side anytime soon.
"Wait, you two never told me you could do magic!" Mirai seemed hurt that the two of them wouldn't tell her, which made Yuudai laugh a bit scratching the back of his head.
"See the problem is we can only do it in our strongest forms, which are large enough to uhh. Definitely break the roof of the house and cause a lot of attention to us." Yuudai explained holding his arms up high to emphasize just how big they got, it didn't work cause he was still pretty short but it was good enough.
"Don't break our roof!" Shi's mom overhead yelling at them from the kitchen, that was pretty much their one rule. Don't break stuff. Also don't interrupt Shi's studies but that was more or less not a really enforced rule.
"Couldn't even if we wanted to, Shi's in charge of evolutions above Mega and even then that barrier thing round Shibuya prevents us from going above Ultimate." Yuudai reminded, which was probably for the best. Though curiously Shi raised his eyebrow to that.
"Barrier? Since when was that around?" That's right, that whole DATS thing happened while Shi was in the hospital.
"We'll tell ya later bro, best not focus on stuff like that for now." Shi nodded in agreement, this was supposed to be a chill time after all. No sense in bring up old memories.
Speaking of bringing up old memories Shi's scar came up, he figured it would eventually. Stopping for a moment Shi closed his eyes for a second before simply stating. "The digital world is a dangerous place..." Was all he said and judging by the vibe Shi was giving off he was only going to leave it at that.
"Nah it's nothing, Just wanna hope you enjoy your time here with us!" Yuudai got an idea on what Weston was looking at the pictures for, he wasn't as dumb as he usually acted when it came to that sorta thing. "I'll ask later, after we eat!" Food first, sad backstories later! That's how the Namika's rolled... Or at least how Yuudai made them roll.
"Gotta admit, did not think this is what was going to happen when we asked you to 'start bringing others over.' Shi!" His dad said with a laugh as Shi sat down followed quickly by Yuudai and Yasuo on the opposite sides of him. Mirai sat down near Weston absolutely no fear at the digimon that was very much taller then her.
That's when Shi's parents brought in the food, there was uhh quite a lot of it. "I never get the chance to cook this much, you digimon eat a lot right? Hope you enjoy!" Shi's dad mentioned as he brought out a few plates followed by his wife.
"Mhm, even had me help him. Would've had Shi help also but." She looked at her son for a moment who just shrugged. "Still we managed with just the two of us, hope it's fine. I ain't exactly the best at this sorta thing." She admitted as she set her own set of plates down, there was a wide array of food that Yuudai and Yasuo had already started wolfing down. So wide that the author of this didn't want to explain it all cause this post is already 800 words long!
"So Weston right?, How're you liking the human world? Yuudai and Yasuo seem to enjoy it well enough but they seem to enjoy everything!" Shi's dad asked as he sat down, he had to admit he was curious about this whole digimon thing. Yuudai and Yasuo in the background confirmed this with a nod.

"That is an interesting theory," Weston said, agreeing with Shi as he rubbed where his chin would presumably be. "I believe that the humans' invention of the internet is the true point where humanity began to influence the Digital World in such a way. Not only that, but that the amount of data the humans use is only one percent of the entire Digital World." Weston smiled when Mirai said it sounded cool; it was clear that she wasn't understanding any of what the adults were saying.
After Shi and the twins had the discussion about their use of magic with a brief mention of the Digivolution barrier, that was when Weston asked about the scar. All he responded was that the Digital World was a dangerous place. "...it is," Weston agreed. "So dangerous that I sometimes wonder why Yggdrasil decided to grant humans a place in our world. But it's mostly been for the best so far, at the very least."
And now it was finally almost time for dinner. As Weston sat at the table, Shi's dad joked about how someone like Weston wasn't what he had in mind when he told Shi to bring others over. "That is the funny thing about life, Namika-san," Weston responded, "it is entirely unpredictable!" Weston looked down at Mirai as she sat right next to him, and the Wisemon couldn't help but smile and pat her head.
Then the food came in. It was so much, much more than Weston was expecting. As soon as the food was set on the table, the Wisemon's stomach let out one more long and loud growl, loud enough for the entire family to hear this time. "S-Sorry about that," Weston apologized once again, his face practically more red than black at this point. "It was a very busy day today, so much so that I did not eat much at lunch, and I was not expecting there to be so much... and yes, most of us do eat quite a lot. Thank you for the food."
Weston would fill his plate with considerably less than what Yuudai and Yasuo got, but still more than the human Namikas, and he began to eat with much more grace than the two dinosaurs. Weston didn't comment on the food but it was clear from his two yellow eyes' expression that he was enjoying it. Shi's dad asked how Weston was enjoying the human world. "This world functions similarly and differently than the one I come from. We have cities much like Tokyo, but there is also much vast open space where wild Digimon tend to roam. At least three quarters of known Digimon know how to fight in some capacity, as it is simply what some Digimon have to do to survive. This world is much more peaceful, however; no need for any fighting. I even work as a teacher at the high school, in disguise of course."

Only one percent of the digital world, for some reason that sounded disproportionate considering how many anime style moves he ends up seeing from digimon. Though that was usually with tamers which might tip the balance. Either way Shi didn't care enough to press the topic so just responded with a small nod. Thankfully Weston didn't press the matter on his scar though he mentioned the part about Yggdrasil granting humans a place in that world "It's done more good then harm, least from what I've seen." Shi's wounds aside he has helped quite a lot of digimon and humans over there, maybe that was what made it worth it.
At the dinner table though Weston mentioned something about life being unpredictable. "I can agree with you on that one, after all I don't think I ever expected my son to bring home two dinosaurs that asserted themselves into the family." He didn't seem to mind that though, honestly it was probably good for Shi to have SOMEONE to be close with aside from his family.
"You don't have to apologize, you're hungry, you saw food. It's a natural reaction even for humans." Shi's mom mentioned giving a small nod at the thanks for the food... Yeah it was pretty easy to see who Shi took after in the family.
"Yeah Shi mentioned having to fight a lot while over there, though I couldn't help but notice you said wild. Are there some digimon who can't talk like you or the twins?" This was a good chance to get some information, after all they didn't know too much about that world except the fact that time moved slower and the cliff notes that Shi gave them.
"I suppose being able to fling fireballs and toss cars around makes any conflict here seem a lot more peaceful by comparison. If half of what the twins here boast about it must be pretty intense when something does go down." His mom mentioned after, which considering how Yuudai and Yasuo like talking about how strong they are that did in fact track.
Surprisingly you get used to it, see one fire breathing dragon running at you seen em all." That was probably not true for a lot of tamers but Shi is pretty much built different as has been well established.

"Hm... yes, I would have to agree," Weston said in response to Shi's comment. Introducing humans to the Digital World and pairing them up with Digimon really has brought more good than harm. "Rosewood as a city would not exist without help from humans, and you and I would probably not be talking with each other right about now. Yggdrasil works in strange ways, but this was one of his best decisions, I would say."
While at the dinner table, a still embarrassed Weston continued to eat the delicious food that the Namikas had prepared. It was quite delicious, and way better than anything the Wisemon ever tried to make for himself. Shi's father asked Weston if there were Digimon that couldn't talk like himself or the twins. "Indeed, there can be. Most Digimon are more or less civilized but if you go out into the wild, you're likely to find plenty that haven't evolved mentally, and more or less function on pure instinct alone. It's why we have the Village of Beginnings, to provide a safe space for new or reborn Digimon to grow before they're strong enough to handle themselves in the wild."
In response to Shi's mother's comment about human world conflicts... "I'm afraid I cannot comment on that one way or the other. Humans and Digimon... they are different, yet the same. We have similar conflicts to those in the Digital World, and in some cases our abilities make those conflicts far worse. And Shi is correct, those involved with the Digital World eventually get used to it... even when the bizarre events happen. Just last week, a copy of the Statue of Liberty appeared in my home's backyard in the Digital World... though it was much smaller than I thought it would be."
