Riding Hyakumaru, a grand liner Grand Locomon, going from Ys, to Rosewood, to Terminus and finally Whitewater is a team of doctor. Inside, they're going through some briefing by Haku, the second prince of Ys. Once that was done and dusted, the Samogaomon headed to the second compartment, where the team that will deal with this crisis are.
"Hello, thank you for your cooperation today. I'm sorry, I'm still a bit frazzled honestly, but... well, you might notice from the mission description that we're going to a place in Binary Archipelago. There, we'll be heading to one of the island most affected by... I wonder what to even call it... Plague? Endemic? Well, it's probably endemic, but either way... ahem. Please look at this."
Haku pulled a projector screen and turned on the projector. The projector showed several fruits with strange marking on it. These marks at first looks indistinguishable, but if you looked at it, it's definitely unnatural for Digital World, where fruits are often rendered without any sort of blemishes or faults. To the eyes of the human, they don't look strange, but for Digimons, the presence of such fruits would be alarming.
"This is not real world fruit. It's 100% digital fruits. And it's originated from Golden Apple Archipelago, which is still in part of Binary Archipelago. Golden Apple is made of four islands, two shaped 0 and two 1. About a week ago, there have been report of these fruits circulating. Some called them miracle fruit, as apparently it could cause the consumer to become temporarily stronger, and gives feeling that they're healthy...
...But... without mincing words, these fruits are in fact... like drugs. Those who have consumed it grew very addicted to it, and even become very aggressive. We have already seen cases where patients who ate it growing increasingly sure of themselves, like they suddenly found a whole them. But those who didn't entered a withdrawal symptoms. No self harm was detected, but they're very much in pain and it gets unbearable. Healing abilities only works temporarily."
Haku inhaled before continuing. "...But that's not the worst of it..." he balled his fist in anger. "....Those who wanted to get wealthy really quick have been harvesting these fruits and then selling it to the mass in Whitewater. So there's also currently an outbreak there. If you haven't guessed, car five and six contains those who are affected from whitewater. Our doctors currently handling them right at this moment. We're afraid that their life will end today if we didn't hurry it up.
That's why, at this moment we'll be heading to the archipelago, to find the source of the infection, take sample from the source, and then develop the cure. Developing the cure should be easily enough as long as we could find the source. Temporary medicines have been developed, but... yeah, it's only effective for a while. I'm sure that it'll only get worse and worse as it goes. The temporary medicine won't help for long."
What else what else...
".......There's not much that we have other than that. We have an inkling of what's going on, but we're NOT TOO SURE if it's really the source or not. So we'll currently hold our tongue and just get down to the source. Either way, the moment we get there, please work separately from the doctor team, and ask around what's going on. If they refused to answer after you explain that you're commissoned by Whitewater and Ys, you're authorized to capture them and bring them to the train as they'll be treated as criminals who further caused even bigger outbreak. Here, have these."
Haku handed each participant a badge. "It's whitewater issued emergency badge for you to use as your identifier in this mission. You may present it in case they ask about your identity. Use any force necessary. The victim isn't just adults, but also kids and even babies. Any question?"

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Jun 24, 2021 16:25:43 GMT
Two of the passengers in the second compartment of Grand Locomon Hyakumaru would be familiar to Haku but also significantly different. It was a Tamer and Digimon pair, with the human wearing an outfit similar to those who have possibly met Silence in the past, just in an orange color instead of red. This was Kaya Matsui and her partner Hawkeye, the newest members of the Knights of the Rose. Kaya especially was trying to present herself as proper and knightly, a departure from her usual behavior. Much like the others here, they had heard about this mission and felt like they had to help in whatever way they can.
Eventually Haku would enter the compartment and address the team. The last time Kaya and Hawkeye saw him was back during that ExD incident... a memory that Kaya didn't have a fond time reminiscing about. She and Hawkeye watched as the Samogaomon pulled down a projector and gave a rundown on the mission. The image on the screen showed a bunch of fruits with... weird markings on them. "Fruit have markings like that all the time in my world," Kaya said, not understanding the situation fully yet.
"Fruit in the Digital World don't have blemishes like human world fruit," Hawkeye said. Apparently this fruit came from the Golden Apple Archipelago, and it would cause those who consumed it would become temporarily stronger and healthy, but the fruit was also highly addictive like drugs and caused consumers to also become incredibly aggressive. The withdrawal symptoms sounded even worse, with those affected in actual physical pain and healing only temporarily working. Kaya and Hawkeye glanced at each other with concerned expressions...
Haku continued his explanation. Apparently there were some Digimon who wanted to get rich quick, so they harvested this fruit and sold it in Whitewater, meaning there was now a similar situation there as well. Cars five and six were filled with those from Whitewater who were affected, and if they didn't get help they would die. "That's... horrible..."
"I can't believe they didn't know what those fruits did, so they most likely just did not care," Hawkeye said, clenching his wings into a fist as well. That's why the group was heading to the archipelago now, to find the source of this infection and develop a cure. "We'll help however we can," Hawkeye said with Kaya nodding in response, instinctively putting her right fist above her chest.
This wasn't the end of the explanation, at least not quite yet. Haku said they had an inkling of what the infection source might be but they weren't too sure so they don't want to say it out loud quite yet. Kaya and Hawkeye looked at each other again... what was that supposed to mean? Anyways, the mission was simple: ask around the archipelago to hopefully find out what's going on. Haku even gave Kaya and Hawkeye a badge to identify them as an identifier for the mission in case anyone refused to answer, even going as far as to suggest using force if necessary. "Let's just hope it doesn't come down to that... about the sick ones from Whitewater, do they have any family with them right now, or a way to contact them?"

The digital realm truly was a world of havoc and woes, was it not? Within the span of a few short years, it had faced several cataclysms in a variety of shapes. Eldritch abominations, incarnations of sin, constructs meant to enthrall, psychotic utopians, and now... this. Truth be told, Cion did not even know what to label the current blight that harrowed this planet. Was it a plague, a rupture of reality, or a dimensional coalescence? Regardless of the term it was bound to be remembered by, one thing was clear - the fragile peace she cherished was again brought to nought. A pity...
As was having to meet Haku under these dire circumstances. Naturally, the silver fennec knew that Hikaru's and Owen's litter was vast, and that its members were mature digimons who did not need her, but that did not mean that she did not like the role of an aunty. She saw the kids so rarely, and her 'brother' was constantly occupied in Rosewood as well, so there was hardly any time to savor her kinship. Alas it could not be helped, and the SamoGaomon did not appear to recognize her anyway. How so? They had not met before.
Suppressing a sigh, the unassuming fox decided to stay quiet and listen to the debriefing that transpired. Maintaining a professional composure, her ladylike poise did not yield in spite of the grave intel that was provided. She was quite apt in distancing herself from the mental facets of calamities to remain focused and rational. Nonetheless, to learn that vices continued to taint the vicious and apathetic individuals of her race vexed her. With data as an all-encompassing resource, why was there still ravenousness? No matter the answer, she comprehended what had to be done.
Though she considered it unnecessary and took it with an amused smirk, Cion accepted the badge and attached it to the edge of her green scarf. She was not afraid of utilizing might to make things right, and was not opposed to the philosophy of the end justifying the means... to an extent at least. The faster they were capable of accumulating information the better, not? Nevertheless, being 'granted' the authority of an official would leastwise prevent future repercussions? Yet where was she meant to start? Fortunately, questions were approved to be asked. "Any suspects you recommend investigating first, Haku?"

Luna wasn't really in the right state of mind at the moment, after hearing what was going on, how these digimon were suffering from eating some strange fruit. Suffice to say the Lekismon barely even needed to read what was going on to rush out of her clinic to join in helping them out. She was sitting not really looking at anyone next to her partner Dust, the Impmon seemed to be worried about the Lekismon, poking her in the shoulder after a second. "You gonna be okay Luna? You can sit this one out if you want. I can handle it." The Impmon offered despite knowing the answer.
"No, I'll be fine. Besides they'll need all the help they can get most likely." With stuff like this usually the more the merrier as they say. After that a digimon that Luna didn't know had come into the second compartment to explain what was going on, even showing them an unnatural fruit. Luna definitely didn't recognize it and looked at Dust, who shook his head no he hadn't seen that before either, considering the Impmon had pretty much traveled all around that was pretty telling that this was off.
There was no need to speculate on what the fruit did however as Haku proceeded to tell them about what had happened, becoming strong if they kept eating but writhing in pain if they stopped. Pretty much just like he said a drug.
However what Haku said next caused Luna to ball his fist up in anger, making money off other digimon's suffering. It was something that Luna could figure would happen but to hear that it was actually going down that way, well suffice to say it shook her to her core. But Dust was there to help her calm down, The Impmon put a hand on her shoulder and she slowly let the tension she was feeling drop.
While Luna would've preferred to help the doctors figure this whole thing out this was probably more important, finding the source should come first after all since any temporary measure would be just that, temporary. Luna took the badge and put it near the Moon symbol on her chest. Dust took his and just pinned it to his scarf next to his pendent.
Both didn't seem to have any questions, they were just ready to get this whole thing started.

Post by Bezil on Jun 28, 2021 9:48:22 GMT
Bezil the Gumdramon was glad to have made it to this mission on time. Since his recuperation in Ys from the battle of the golden rocks, where he had achieved his evolution to Perfect for the first time, he was itching to be active in helping the digital world in any way he can, as a senior digimon of KIZNA.
Dressed in his usual clothes of a red coat lined with yellow, a silk cyan scarf, and a gold ring pierced through his left ear that matched that of his grandfather Sten the WereGarurumon, Bezil listened to his elder brother Haku’s explanation of what was ahead. Apparently there was an outbreak of a dangerous addictive fruit in some of the islands of the Binary Archipelago that was causing much chaos.
Bezil’s yellow eyes flashed with anger in much the same way as his father Owen’s did when outraged. Apparently this fruit was being put on the black market in a city as big as Whitewater, and the effect was to cause much suffering among the digimon that were consuming it. “How dare they…” he muttered with disgust. Of course, evil digimon would try to make a profit out of this.
Haku then tasked them with finding more information about this trade and to do so by force if necessary. He gave them badges to mark their authority, Bezil accepted his and pinned it to the left of his coat.
Then, the Gumdramon looked around the compartment for who else was accompanying them on this mission. Bezil recognized Kaya and Hawkeye, but only vaguely, he hadn’t remembered much about them in his journeys around the digital world.
There was also the silver fennec digimon. “Aunt Cion! Good to see you here too!” Bezil said to her, somewhat glad to see someone familiar here.
Then lastly there was a Lekismon and Impmon, who Bezil hadn’t met before. But everyone here seemed to be trustworthy, given they had responded to his brother’s message for help.
When Haku asked if there were any questions, Bezil made his. “Brother, what do you recommend if we come across large numbers of digimon in league with those responsible?” he asked, worried about being overwhelmed by the enemy. “Should we evolve and make a stand? Or should we stay in our lower forms and use stealth to pick off stragglers for interrogation?”
This was important for Bezil to know. Yes, he could evolve to Arresterdramon and take on a bunch of Child and Adult levels, but doing so would draw in a lot of attention, so he needed to know if they were to be stealthy about this or not.

The question. Haku immediately try to address them as efficiently as possible, starting with Kaya's. "Unfortunatley due to time constraint and the fact that it could lead to even more widespread effect if we brings more people than necessary, only currently present family member of the sick may accompany them... as in, they're present immediately. We have imposed strict no travel restriction to Golden Apple Archipelago. As we're speaking, the archipelago is under total lockdown and only authorized people may enter. That's right, currently there's no way to exit, even portals... Bars ours that is. I'm sorry, but we have to destroy the source at all cost."
Suspects is it... "That's a great question actually. Here's the thing," Haku switched the projector. "What we know is that while indeed there's a mafia behind this all, 80% of the harvest of these fruits actually came from islanders that wanted to be rich quickly. Their main reason apparently being that so that they could spend money on "fun". I see there's no need to fight the mafia right now as we're pressed for time... I suggest ask around the villages in the four islands for their foragers. Usually, foragers knows where they can find the fruits, and from there you can probably know the source."
Indeed, there might be chance of fighting... "....In that case, I'm to quote KIZNA guidelines: "In event of emergency where lives are endangered, please use the most effective as possible method, without going against KIZNA main rule: 1: Do not die, 2: If you're in danger that you can't hundle, run." Personally, I guess you should use divide and conquer method. Ambush and stealth for example, then just split them up until you can handle them. Do whatever you think is the best, Bez. I trust you."
Now, to add some more extra details. "You don't have to fly between four islands, as we have already set some teleportation gates on the center of each islands. We're currently heading to Pear Island, 0 shaped, northwest. On the northeast is Papaya island, 1 shape. Mango island is on the southeast, 0 shaped. Then finally Passionfruit Island, 1 shape, southwest. There are different gates for each islands, but they're located at the same general area so you don't have to walk too much.
Anyway... Synch your clock... time of the mission is... 12:35, 20 seconds in. The moment you come out of here, you can decide either to split or stay together. All of the registered patients have been transported to Pear Island... but if you happened to see more patients, please bring them here."
Hyakumaru let out a sharp toot in sign that they already arrived. The train slowed down significantly and Haku immediately slammed a red button to open the compartment.
"You can ask me further about anything but do mind that I'll not always be replying due to multitasking. That is all Please do your best, everyone!"
Immediately before stepping out, Haku figure transformed repeatedly, coated by veil of snow that wasn't even supposed to exist here on the tropical island. The moment the veil of snow receded, a majestic, tall, winged wolfman stepped out from the train.
"Bring the patients inside the shack to train 4 and 3! Hurry it up! Don't forget to put on the barrier and make sure to get the restrainers ready!" Haku barked his order. his voice less airy and playful, almost as if he has switched mode completely. He also immediately dons his special doctor clothes.
"Sir, yes, sir!"
The first thing that the team noted is probably how panicked the islanders looked. Even when they are in the center of the island, where it supposed to be beautiful resort or sort, there are many different Digimons going about, fetching things here and there. Not a single idleness in their action as dread and trepidation apparent on their faces. It's also worth noting that the Digimons here are mostly child and adult, with no higher stage anywhere in sight.

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Jun 29, 2021 0:47:50 GMT
The answer Kaya received for her question wasn't the most satisfactory answer, but she managed to just tell herself that it was for the best. She knows what the symptoms of eating this fruit was, and how fast it managed to spread, so it made sense that the Archipelago was under complete and total lockdown. Kaya nodded as she put her badge on her chest, before putting Hawkeye's right on the buckle of his headband, despite his annoyance at this.
The silver fox Digimon and the Gumdramon that Kaya and Hawkeye recognized as the prince of Ys and Haku's brother, Bezil, each had questions as well. The former wanted to know about any suspects that could be involved, which was actually a good question. According to Haku, most of the sales of this fruit seemed to come from islanders who wanted to get rich quick to "have fun," whatever that could mean. As upset as Kaya and Hawkeye were at these villagers for selling such dangerous fruits, fighting them wasn't their concern at the moment.
As for Bezil's question... Kaya and Hawkeye hadn't even considered the possibility of having to fight anyone. The ones responsible for selling the fruits to Whitewater would be the most obvious opponents. They knew what to do in case of a fight though; if their hand is forced to fight, then they will use deadly force in order to protect themselves, their allies or any other Digimon in danger.
Ah, extra details from Haku. The Grand Locomon would be arriving on Pear Island, one of the four islands that make up the Golden Apple Archipelago, each island named after a fruit it seemed... and the islands' shapes put together pretty much resemble binary code. ("A shame no Strawberry Island exists,") Hawkeye mused to himself. And they wouldn't have to fly to the other islands as each island had gates to the other islands. How handy.
Finally, the Grand Locomon slowed down and the train came to a stop... the group has arrived. "Alright let's go," Kaya quietly said as she and her partner stood up and proceeded to exit the train. They spotted Luna and Dust on board as well but they wouldn't speak to them... things didn't end well the last time they had met. Upon stepping off of Hyakumaru, the two of them would find themselves in a resort-like area, only the Digimon around looked very panicked as they walked around, some of them fetching things here and there. The young teen and the Hawkmon looked at each other with worried expressions...
"-you can't do this to us, our grandfather's in there, we need to stay with him! Look at him, he's thrashing, he needs us! HEY!" Kaya and Hawkeye would suddenly hear an angry-sounding voice coming from within one of the train cars. Before too long, a very angry looking Falcomon holding a crying Yokomon would storm out of the train car. Judging from the arguing in there, it seemed like one of his family members was one of the Whitewater victims. As he walked past, he gave Kaya and Hawkeye a glare. "So you're part of the group that's supposed to help fix our grandfather?"
"W-Well, we're actually supposed to ask around and see where the fruit came from."
"Whatever. I don't care. Just... just hurry up. Grandpa's in trouble." He would then continue making his way over to the nearby hut, tasked with providing support to any patients that weren't in the thrashing stage yet.
"I feel so bad for them..."
"All the more motivation to complete the mission. Come on, we need to ask around."
So with that out of the way, Kaya and Hawkeye would walk up to the closest Digimon they could find that looked as if they knew where the foragers could be. Kaya would be the one to do the talking, and she would be as nice and calm as she possibly could. "Hi there... my name is Kaya Matsui, and this is my partner Hawkeye. We're part of the team that's here to help find the source of the addictive fruit," she would say as she pointed to her badge. "Do you know where we could find your fruit foragers at all? It's really important that you tell us all you know."

Was that Bezil's voice? For a moment, Cion's ears peaked as she tilted her head to face the familiar yet seldom encountered Gumdramon. The lad was one of Owen's first as far as she could recall, and like everyone else of his offspring a delight to have around. Smiling softly, she playfully waved at him with her right paw from not too afar away. "I can but agree." She responded in kind, finding great joy in having the boy to interact with for today, even during a dire mission. The ties to her kinsfolk were faint, thus she savored them to their fullest when possible.
But this was not yet the correct time for banter and pleasantries. They still had a debriefing to undertake. Oddly enough, in spite of a multiplicity of words, not much was actually said by Haku. Neither how this plague was handled, nor the cause for its spread, were truly of importance, especially in regards to stopping it. Nonetheless, the latter managed to vex the silver fennec greatly. There was no need for any of this, but that was the main problem of avarice, was it not? It was indeed a shame that their realm was harrowed by these pointless vices.
Chuckling at the notion of having to engage a threat that she was incapable of handling, the unassuming fox calmly folded her arms and awaited the end of this interlocution. And as she syncked her clock, she noted that it arrived faster than anticipated, as did their ride at their destination. With communication established, she stepped out and analyzed her surroundings. What she saw was nothing but weakened digimons afflicted with understandable trepidation. "What needless suffering." She stated matter-of-factly, her dulcet voice maintaining a neutral tone.
With her aureate eyes slightly narrowed and her poise unaffected by the woes at hand, her attention briefly shifted towards the young, blond girl and her avian partner. It seemed that the headstrong duo was already well on its way to dive into trouble, hence the three mammalians and the sole reptile were left to their own devices. Looking at Luna and Dust, she shrugged softly before sighing. "Shall we split up into pairs to cover more ground? I'd accompany my nephew..." She suggested kindly as her body swayed in the direction of the charmingly keen whippersnapper. "... of course only if that is acceptable to you, Bezil."
To Cion, this would pretty much be the best possible outcome for this consultation, though she refrained from showing that openly.

A mafia behind this outbreak, that definitely wasn't good and didn't do much to dispel the rage that Luna was feeling over these events. Though she didn't let it show on her face she took a deep breath and decided just to focus on what was head of them for now. Though the fact they shouldn't go after them didn't sit right with Luna she knew the reason well enough. Though she had to admit if they did fight her partner.... Well he wouldn't be that good for the whole stealthy fighting thing. They had all the information they needed to get started though. "Hey Dust? If we do fight those responsible go easy on them?" Luna whispered at the Impmon, She didn't want to but her version of easy and Dust's version of easy were two way different things.
"I'll only beat them half to death." He whispered back, mostly as a joke but in his mind if they were willing to profit off this they didn't deserve the Impmon's mercy.
Before they would stop though as Kaya noticed Luna the Lekismon would get her attention. "Glad to see you two made up, should catch up after we deal with this first." Luna gave her usual smile with a thumbs up as the train stopped. Dust didn't look like he was in the mood to talk to the tamer and Hawkmon but just gave a small nod that he acknowledged their presence.
Getting of the Train though it seemed that Kaya and Hawkeye were already going for what they wanted. Luna stretched her arms out ready to get this whole thing started. "Alrighty then, lets get moving." Though before she could say anything more another digimon had already said that splitting up would be a good idea.
"I was gonna say yeah, teams of two should be good. Plus Kaya seems to of already made that her choice." Luna glanced over at the human before looking back at Cion. "It's 12:35 so maybe meet back here around 30 minutes from now?" That felt like a good time for them to meet up. they were splitting up, while it was important they did this rushing could cause more bad then good.
Regardless if they agreed or not Dust and Luna would set off a bit farther from Kaya or Hawkeye, going to ask the first few digimon she saw some questions about the fruit. Mostly just stuff like "Do you know where the fruit foragers are?" And "Any information you could provide us about this pandemic would be helpful." Meanwhile Dust would be keeping his eye out for anyone suspicious looking.

So, the Golden Apple Archipelago was completely locked down already. Bezil frowned, this meant that once he set foot there he’d have to wait to be cleared before returning home. But he didn’t dwell upon this for long. This was just something he’d have to deal with.
The furred Gumdramon then listened to who their targets should be. Foragers would likely be the key to finding those responsible. A plan formed in his mind, ask enough questions, provide enough incentive, and some foragers might tell them the origin of their forbidden fruit. Threatening them outright was probably a bad idea, given it could turn decent digimon against them. But… how to identify the bad ones? That was something he hadn’t yet planned for.
As to what would happen in hostile situations, Haku stated that they should first secure their own safety, and if they couldn’t succeed, run. Bezil thought that was agreeable. This was no time to make pointless final stands.
Fortunately there was teleportation modules already set up between the islands, so there would be no need to fly between them. Bezil was glad of this, while he could fly the distance between them, doing so repeatedly would be a big drain. He synchronized his watch as specified, then got ready to head out.
As they arrived at their destination, Bezil was taken aback a little by Haku evolving. Yes, he knew his elder brother had powers beyond his own, but seeing them for the first time like this, it made him reflect on his own journey and how much further he had to go to be as strong as that.
Cion then suggested they go into groups, specifically mentioning she’d like to accompany him. “Sure, I’d be happy to do that, Aunt Cion.” Bezil replied cheerfully. He had heard of her previous feats around the various crises of the digital world and what she had done to quell them, so he was interested to see how she’d handle something like this in person.
Still though, this was one of Bezil’s first official missions in which he was acting in a senior rather than a junior role, and he was eager to get started. At once, when they landed, he searched out any digimon with an excess of fruit and immediately walked out to meet them. In this case, it was a Renamon hauling a trolley loaded with a basket of peaches.
“You there! Halt!” he called. At this stage, Bezil, having recently evolved to his Perfect level and was eager to prove himself as useful, was hoping that he was making a good, bold move here. “Where did you get that fruit from? Where are you taking it to?”
The Renamon stopped as commanded, blinked for a few moments, then sighed. Bezil felt his ego deflate a little, he had hoped he would be the one to point out ‘that the Emperor had no clothes’ as the humans put it – by pointing out the obvious while all others feared to do so. He got the feeling he was wrong here.
“Look, kid, I get why you’re here and what you’re doing, but, while I’m an obvious suspect in this corrupted fruit trade, you can do better than challenging those of us obviously trying to do our honest jobs.” she said. “By all means, try any peach in this basket, I assure you that it’s just as fresh and healthy as it’s meant to be. And please drop that high and mighty attitude, yes I see your badge, but I’d be less inclined to help you if you keep that up.”
Bezil was a little humbled by this. Truly this was a task he was something of a novice at. His specialty was combat and survival, not sleuthing out a well hidden corrupted fruit conspiracy.
“O-okay, sorry to trouble you, madam.” Bezil said, supposing the best thing would to be to let her go on her way. “Sorry, Aunt Cion, I’m a bit new to this sleuthing thing.” he muttered.

Unfortunately the one that Kaya and Hawkeye found aren't local, but a resting medical worker. At least they know how to explain this though. They're just resting after some shift. It was thanks to the backup provided by Haku that they could finally take a breather. However, with the pace at the moment, they probably will be called back to the frontline soon. It was great that this fruit's effect isn't infectious to other person, otherwise they'll be really screwed.
"Sorry, you got the wrong person. I'm not local. If you're looking for local or someone who's been here for long enough, I think you should look for someone more stationery or someone who's working on different things from what we do. If someone's resting in this island, 80% of them are medical workers. It... also probably doesn't help that in this island, foragers sensed some bad blood between those who suffered and the foragers..."
The medical worker glanced at some chairs where some Digimons looked antsy and angry, not knowing where to vent this anger.
"See that one over there? If I heard it right, his mother ate the fruit and changed, and.... well, you know the rest. So many antsy Digimons have their loved one affected... and even some chosen with their Digimon. So you can say some foragers are under deep scrutiny because guilt by association. It's a bad mindset, but that's what it is. So yeah if you wanted to look foragers... probably ask the mayor? They should be in the biggest building in the islands."
As for Luna's the information is quite the same, but she does happened to find a local... A quite annoyed local that is. This one is a Tyranomon. Due to his size, he's not really allowed to get into the building.
"How the hell should I know where the foragers are!? In fact I'm looking those who sells my wife that accursed fruit! She have been weak and she wanted a time to spend with me so she got tempted with the damn thing! I told her several times there's no use to eat it. It might be just placebo effect, but nooooo! She ate it! If only she didn't eat it, we could have been far better off...."
The Tyranomon calmed himself down between sobs. "...I don't know a damn thing, but I can share you what we experienced. The fruit is odd, spotted. Not just any kind of spotted. If there's pattern to it then surely it's a normal Digital World fruit, but... in this case, the pattern is absolutely chaotic. We thought it was a real world fruit. Some humans does brings real world fruit over here after all..." what else.... "they promoted the fruit as a way to find "new you"... or something like that. We have no idea if the foragers themselves have ate them or not, but either way the foragers that does are inside that building over there. We decided they're not worth it because they probably are also the victim... But those who sells them without eating them first? We're looking for them. They must be the culprit. Money grubbing garbage data they were!
...Anyway, that's pretty much all that I can tell you. If you gonna look for foragers, probably go elsewhere. I think any foragers left over this island are ones that never touched the fruit at all or sick. As of how do we know if they haven't touched it? ...Apparently the fruit leaves a unique sweet stench that will not leave your skin no matter how long you cleaned your hands off. Here, take a sniff. It might help you on your search." the Tyranomon extended his hand.
"If you find anyone with this stench and they're not sick... Then I guess you can capture them."
As for Bezil, another forager suddenly approached. "Hey, I overheard what's going on... uh... look, this is absolutely not the right moment, I get it, but... I'm willing to cooperate if you could clear our name. We really have been fed up with all the suspicion cast at us. We want you to clear our name, us the clean foragers and the fruit farmers, alright? So from what I know... The trees that bears fruits that you're looking for is not here. As for how does the tree looked, it can actually be any sort of tree, but one thing that stuck out is:
The trees would look thicker than its usual counterpart, and looked more... root-like? Does that makes sense? It's as if something is pumped inside. We don't know what, we're... not willing to even try to guess. From what I heard one day from a pub in Papaya Island, apparently if you take the fruit and attempt to regrow it in your fruit farm, it will 100% be successful. I don't think even planting seed have that huge of a success rate... but! apparently this tree sucks nutrients rapidly in order to grow... In the wild it's less noticable, but if there are trees with other trees not looking all that well, that's your tree.
...Also, I don't think there's any of such tree in this Pear Island... At least not from what I know.... Do you guys have other questions?"

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Jul 13, 2021 4:26:18 GMT
Kaya blinked and turned over to the Lekismon when she called over to her and Hawkeye. She didn't seem to have any bad feeling towards them at the moment, as she was suggesting that they catch up after the mission was over. Kaya gave a slight smile and waved but didn't do much else other than that unfortunately... Luna might have moved on from their previous encounter but they haven't.
Their first interview didn't go off to such a great start. For one, apparently they mistook one of the medical workers taking a break for one of the locals. Kaya and Hawkeye were both flabbergasted by this, wasn't it obvious who was a local and who was a medical worker? Apparently not. "Oh, so sorry for intruding then," Kaya said to them. At least it wasn't a total bust; they learned from this worker that there was some bad blood between the villagers and the foragers themselves, as seen by the nearby villagers looking rather angry.
"I cannot say I blame them for being angry," Hawkeye said. "But my gut tells me the foragers aren't the ones to blame for this. What do they have to gain from it all?"
The medical worker suggested asking the mayor where to find the foragers, saying that they should be at the biggest building on the islands. "I think we will do that... thank you for you help!" As Kaya and Hawkeye walked away, they began to discuss their plan. "I know that they said there are portals that'll take us to the other islands but I think we'll get a good view of the biggest building up from the air. What do you think?"
"Or we could simply ask others where the mayor's office is," Hawkeye suggested.
"They'd probably just say the same thing the medical worker sai-"
Both Kaya and Hawkeye paused as their eyes widened. They both slowly turned their heads towards Luna and Dust, who were discussing with a Tyrannomon at this moment in time. Confirming what they both saw, the two of them just sweatdropped as their faces went white. "Luna... why are you sniffing that Digimon's hands?"

Post by Cion on Jul 13, 2021 16:08:41 GMT
Splendid! Events transpired exactly as Cion had intended. With her and Bezil alone, the latter evidently appreciating the company of his aunty, they went on their merry way to fulfill their duty. Fortunately, the rascal was quite a spirited soul, though perhaps a bit too much so. Not unlike the scenarios in clichéd detective movies, his initial accusation of a seemingly innocent Renamon was way too overhasty and unsubstantiated. The accused was blessedly able to defend herself aptly, humbling the boy in the process. Better a stranger than a seldom seen family member, not?
Noticing the slight frustration in the cuddly Gumdramon's voice, the silver fennec decided to lean forward and give him a gentle caress of his head before confidently patting his shoulder. "No sweat. All beginnings are difficult, right?" She declared and asked rhetorically with a reassuring smile on her muzzle. It was better to fail than never try, and she was confident that Owen had taught the lad this lesson already. Besides, in a sense, his rashness bore fruit. Another potential suspect approached them to provide aid... or to deceive them - one could not be sure in these parts of the digital world.
To be honest, the unassuming fox did not care about clearing anyone's name for whatever reason. Truth and justice were the only maxims that mattered in these dire times, and was ready to act on them without hesitation. Nonetheless, she indulged the forager for a moment. The intel received seemed valuable, yet hard to utilize. Not having any questions, she shook her head and turned sideways to face her nephew. "Shall we investigate the islands for unusually healthy trees amidst malnourished flora?" She inquired suggestingly, curious to learn what the youngster thought of the provided information.

Luna wasn't very sure about asking random digimon, while it was the best she could do with the information she had it did have its ups and downs, the downs being exactly what was being yelled at her right now. A Tyranomon snapped at Luna about not knowing where the foragers are, Dust almost on instinct stepped in front of Luna as they yelled but from the Tyranomon's words Luna stepped in front of Dust walking a bit closer to them.
As he calmed himself down Luna would offer a reassuring pat with a smile. "I'm so sorry the two of you are going through this, I promise we'll do everything in our power to make sure a cure is developed soon." This was a stressful time, it was understandable some would be mad about this. It was best to treat those angry about these events with kindness, though Dust still was a bit wary they both listened to the digimon.
It was mostly information they knew themselves, the spotting fruit. Passing it off as a human world fruit did make sense, after all that wasn't normal so that at least explained why they would eat it so readily. "New you huh? Yeah I can think of a few digimon who'd buy that." It was quite the underhanded scheme to do so, but that did raise the question of why, if it was just a small scam that was one thing but lives were on the line, surely some foragers must be worried about getting caught for what was basically murder.
But the end of his information did spark a bit of interest, a sweet stench would help them figure this kinda thing out. "Luna do you mind, sweet stuff." Dust didn't get to finish before Luna chimed in.
"Makes you feel sick, don't worry I'll check." With that, while it was a bit odd Luna did lean down slightly and take a smell of the scent, it was definitely unlike anything she had smelled before, even if her sense of smell wasn't the best it'd be pretty obvious if she smelled it again. After that though it would seem Kaya had noticed what Luna was doing.
"Oh, right. Apparently the fruit leaves a weird sweet scent on the digimon that touches it that doesn't wash off, come take a smell if ya want. If someone has the scent take em in." Luna called over to Kaya, pointing at the hands before looking back at the Tyranomon. "Thank you so much for all your help, we'll do our best to solve this for you and your wife, I swear it." Luna started walking off giving a wave followed by Dust.
They would pass by Kaya and Hawkeye though, Luna giving a pat on the kids shoulder with a smile. "Me 'n Dust are gonna head over to Mango Island to look for some more foragers, good luck here." With that Luna would listen to any info Kaya had before Dust and her would make their way to the teleporters in the center of the island... Luna would almost take the wrong one but quickly get shoved by Dust into the right teleporter.

To Bezil’s surprise, his interaction with Renamon brought forth a vital clue, delivered by a forager. This instantly wiped away his feeling of guilt in screwing up, and he eagerly listened to this new clue. He took out a notepad and pen from his pocket and wrote down what was being said to him in bullet points.
- Bad plants look more root-like. - 100% growth rate. - Sucks in nutrients so much that it drains other natural plants. - Currently no such plants on this island.
“Thank you so much for giving us this information.” Bezil said, quietly. He hesitated, wondering if it was a trick, but decided on a more practical method of reward to the forager. “I’ll give you 500 bits for this information you’ve just given us. And if it helps us with our final goal, I’ll give you ten times that amount.”
Bezil hoped that this would help in their mission here. At the moment he was very unsure about where to go, but, he understood the value of honour and rewards, so if these clues were valid, he would be willing to part with riches in reward to those that would put them along the path to solving this ugly matter.
He turned to Cion as she asked if they should investigate the other islands. At first the idea seemed alright for Bezil, but, after this jolt-start to him being more aware of this fruit trafficking operation, he thought of a better idea.
“Actually, Aunt Cion, I think I might have another idea.” he said. “The information we have is that none of these poison fruits are on this island, they’re transported in from other islands. I think what we should do is keep an eye out tonight of all digimon that make this transport overnight. If we can capture a digimon that’s in on this operation, we could get a lot of information out of them, and that’d help our mission here.”
At least Bezil thought that would work. If they simply secured the source of the poison fruit, they wouldn’t be able to secure those responsible, since they would likely feign ignorance of the whole operation, and they’d have no ethical way to draw the truth from them.
