Out of the Rain (Alpha & Beta)

"Urggh" Alpha let out a groan as he slid across the ground, looking up at his twin sister that had just hit him, they were both in their champion forms at the moment doing a bit of sparring. "You hit way too hard Beta, it's just supposed to be some light sparring." Alpha complained as he regained his stance.

"I did? Sorry Alpha. I have a hard time holding back." She said with her usual smile and tilted head, she probably just figured since Alpha was her twin he could take a lot of damage, she wasn't wrong in that regard but he really didn't want to.

Alpha held his claws up, getting ready to go at Beta once again but as he did he felt something hit the top of his head, something wet. Lowering his guard he looked up at the sky, what was once a sunny day had swiftly turned into quite the storm above them. "Guess it's for the best we did this here, wouldn't of made it to the training grounds." Glancing over at his sister he saw her still in her Champion form, jumping up at the sky a few times. "Beta what are you doing?"

"What's this weird liquid stuff coming from the sky, trying to swat it away but more just keeps coming?" She asked with genuine curiosity in her voice. Which made the Logamon pause but quickly he remembered and walked over to his sister.

"It's called Rain Beta, sometimes water falls out of the clouds to the ground." Alpha explained, it was simply enough that Beta just nodded looking up at the sky. Both quickly went back to their Hackmon forms. Beta seemed a bit annoyed at the water hitting her head. Before she could do anything though a pair of hands reached over and pulled her hood up.

"Yes, it's not too dangerous but you shouldn't stay in the rain too long if you can avoid it Beta." It was Cici, once again making herself known after following them for who knows how long.

"Ahh Cici, so I guess you were watching us fight huh?" She gave a small nod affirming that but didn't say much on it, made sense they did only get a few hits in before it started raining.

"While I was following you two I saw a house nearby, it was pretty large so maybe the homeowner will let us wait out the storm there." Cici pointed in the direction, They could see it so the three of them decided to rush over, Alpha and Beta covered with their hoods from the water and Cici, well it didn't look like she cared too much about the water falling on her head as they made their way over.

Well it would appear that some other people had the same idea as the trio, as they got closer they saw a digimon and a human, though the human did have some funky looking hair as they got closer that was more apparent. Luckily Alpha and Beta didn't really know too much about hairstyles to think much on it, for all they knew that was the normal look for humans. Thankfully the Wisemon kept the door open for the three of them, which they went inside figuring if this was a trap or something it was five on one, well four and one human but still.

"Thank you, the storm came out of nowhere it, didn't think it'd rain today." Then again she had been busy with the whole fixing her broken weapons thing even still, was quite crazy. "My names Ciel, but everyone seems to call me Cici lately. Nice to meet you Weston." She gave a small wave as she took off her wet hat, making the Agunimon gauntlets around her hands and arm very obvious as she let her hair down, sorta speak.

Beta was next to take her hood off, looking up at the three strangers with her red eyes and a smile. "I'm Beta, nice to meet you all." Her cloak was still a bit wet but she didn't seem too bothered about it.

Alpha though was looking around the house, he had a strange feeling of nostalgia when they mentioned this being a wizard mansion but quickly regained his calm and just gave a small wave. "Alpha, we're twins." He mentioned motioning over to Beta, they did share the same colored eyes, voices pretty different though.

Cici looked at the hat in her hands for a moment before holding it up slightly, with her thumb she hit a small switch on the side to keep the gas from the gauntlets from causing and massive amount of flames just letting the fire part heat up the area in front of the Gauntlet, running it along her outfit quickly drying it off, Alpha on the other hand just squeezed his hood while leaning downward, it was still a bit damp but it didn't bother him too much. Beta... Beta really didn't care that she was a bit wet, didn't seem to mind it in the slightest at all.

While Yuji and Kazuo went off to go dry themselves the three of them were asked to follow Weston, Cici was curious as to what they'd want them for. She thought for a few moments but didn't fully recognize the name Weston, there was some small worry they had ties to Myotismon but while she was thinking about that Alpha and Beta had both just shrugged and followed, leaving Ciel to follow after them.

Walking through the rather large door they got there just as Weston had grabbed the book, flipping through the pages Cici could practically feel her heart sink as she saw what was on that page. Taking a small step back it was pretty obvious she knew who that was.

Alpha and Beta both looked at the Jesmon, quickly noticing the eyes. "Hmm, Nah not really. Though, I guess I'm getting a weird sense of familiarity with them. I've never met a Jesmon though." Alpha mused thinking on it for a moment.

"They have red eyes like us Alpha, Didn't Cici say we get our eyes from our father?" Right, the cafe she did mention that. Alpha let it slip his mind but they both looked at Cici.

"Jes, A red eyed Jesmon from nowhere. He was well regarded as a heroic digimon, gave everything he was to make sure all digimon would be safe regardless of their origin." She wasn't even looking at the book, her eyes seemed a bit distant though as she mentioned him, like she was lost in thought. "He is also....." Cici looked at Alpha and Beta's eyes, those same eyes she has seen many times before. Cici wanted to tell them here and now who they really were, but looking at those eyes her heart wavered, she couldn't go through with the truth. "He is your father Alpha, Beta."

Both the twins seemed to be in a bit of a stunned silence, she had mentioned them before but to actually be famous enough to be in a book? That was a bit intense.

Of course they wouldn't leave any puddles... At least they would try their best not to leave any! Though there was still a bit of wet spot from where they came in that was mostly just inevitable considering how bad it had started raining outside, but enough talk about that the twins just got an earth shattering revelation, best to focus on that first.

Weston's speculation proved to be right, Cici had figured that Beta's eyes would eventually give them away at some time. She was simply glad that it was around what appeared to be a friendly digimon instead of an enemy. "While Alpha's form normally has red eyes, they stay with him when he evolves. So the two of them did inherit his eyes." Alpha had wondered why his Logamon form still had his eye color, as far as he knew it should change alongside his form.

As Weston closed the book though Beta spoke up. "Eh, wait. Could I... See him again?" She asked unsure herself as to why, just the idea that was her father. That it was a digimon that brought her into this world, regardless of the quality of that life she had before, was something she didn't know how to process. If he did Beta would just stare reading the book, joined by Alpha who was also unsure on how to take this.

"Yeah... That sounds like him, always running himself ragged in order to keep everyone safe, I'm glad he was able to save you." The next words he said though, well those felt more akin to a dagger through her core then a simple question, though she simply let out a soft sigh and proceeded to talk.

"Yes, I. I was Jesmon's partner, originally I had followed him in order to learn his way of combat but things... Escalated and I stayed by his side." Cici pulled her sleeves back revealing the gauntlets around her arms. "I made my name as a wanderer who adapted many different combat styles into her fighting, Jes was the last teacher I worked under." She explained just why she followed under him before covering the gauntlets again with her sleeve. Technically she was like a mother to Alpha and Beta... Just not in a normal way.

"As for why Jes disappeared half a decade ago...." She couldn't get the words out, simply looking away from Weston towards the ground, that probably explained it better then any words she could use.

With what Kazuo said Alpha and Beta looked at each other, both a bit confused. "Uhh Alpha, what are contact lens'?" Beta questioned her brother having never heard that word before, she knew what contact meant and what lens meant but those two words combined were a bit odd to her.

"No clue Beta, must be a human world thing." He gave a small shrug, he had no idea about anything in the human world save for that humans came from there, that was about his level of knowledge with that sorta stuff. Though it did get a bit explained by Kazuo being, well a nicer way of saying stupid but Alpha knew they were just dancing around the word stupid.

"Beta has a bit of trouble in that department too, don't think it's the same but she doesn't really know too much as is." Alpha added getting a nod from Beta, she knew it was like that but didn't let it keep her down.

"I've been learning so much stuff, it's great! Quite a lot of things to know." She seemed happy about learning new stuff, which made Cici's job a lot easier then she thought it would. "Oh no, are you okay?" Beta would instantly ask as Kazuo got hit, that seemed like it was painful.

Weston would explain that it was a trap book enchanted with a buncha different effects for a whole lotta variety. "Alright note to self, don't open any books that look like that." Probably wiser just not to open books in a strangers house but hey, if he did that he wouldn't learn anything about this Wisemon now would he.

But then Yuji would do something, Alpha saw it coming and instantly moved over and covered his Sisters ears. "H-hey, If I don't get to swear you don't either!" Alpha called out, Beta seemed confused cause he had her ears covered and couldn't hear him.

"Alpha you just shouldn't swear in general, you're five." Ciel pointed out, she didn't want Beta repeating any profanity she heard with her photographic memory, so she was impressed he moved to cover her ears... But just the fact he knew where Yuji was going with it didn't really do much to help his case.

"I've been cutting back!" Not the issue but he let go of Beta's ears, she wondered what that was about but figured she probably shouldn't know given the fact Alpha covered her ears and all.

Shaking her head, part of her was glad that happened to calm her nerves a bit as Weston asked about her weapons. "Mhm, I've studied under many different digimon, each one assisted me with battle techniques and creating my weaponry. I have many weapons but quite a few of them need fixing for now." But then she mentioned a weapon she figured would come up. "....Yes, it's hidden away at my home in Terminus. Pretty much no one could get it but me as of right now. It's not damaged I just, I can't bring myself to hold it, to use it. The memories...." She didn't say more.

Alpha was surprised, he always saw Ciel with a calm confidant look but talking about Jes she seemed so worried, sad by what she was saying and wishing it was different. She continued though despite the pain. "We all have pains of the past, I know I am not alone with my pain. I'm sorry for your losses as well, truly I am." She seemed to fiddle with her sword before continuing.

"All I can do now is move forward, it's all I know really. For these two I'd face the world itself to keep them safe, no matter the cost." It was around now that it seemed to sink in for Alpha just how much Cici worried about them, putting aside her sadness, her anger at what happened, her pain. All for the sake of the two of them.

'Is this, how a parent is truly supposed to act?' Alpha wondered to himself while Beta seemed to chime in.

"I guess I can't relate too much cause we never met him, I am sad we never got a chance to meet though." However with that sad thought she just gave another smile. "But I don't think he'd want us to be sad, we just gotta keep moving. Maybe me and Alpha will be even better heroes then he was!" That was a nice thought

So those lens things helped humans improve their eyesight? Could humans just be born with worse or better eyesight? That really sucked if that was the case. He also answered a question he felt the two would have but Beta shook her head no. "Nah I didn't think so, looking through those just makes my unable to see anything." Well at least Beta knew a few things. Alpha just nodded, why they both had looked through drinking glasses was beyond even Cici at this point. Probably just a curiosity thing.

Apparently Kazuo was different to Beta, bad at memory. But had a fun attitude? Alpha just gave a small shrug unsure about how he felt about the bug at the moment. Beta wasn't sure either but they seemed nice so far. Even if this was just their first encounter.

With the whole golden statue thing mentioned Alpha simply sighed nodding a bit. "Yeah, then they'd hafta drag me home. Best just to stay away from any potential harmful stuff." That was part of his motto to not put himself out, curiosity wasn't worth almost being turned into a statue.

Alpha let go of Beta's ears who just looked up at him, tilting her head with a smile. "I've been told that a lot, Gotta be tough." Alpha said simply, though Beta heard the thing about toys and let out a small laugh.

"I leave my stuffed animals around our room and sometimes, I just like the way they look. Alpha sometimes grabs them in his sleep." Beta just decided to let that whole little detail Alpha didn't want her to mention out without thinking about it.

Though instead of looking embarrassed Alpha just shrugged maintaining his calm composure. "It's a force of habit, I mistake them for pillows. Ain't like I'm doing it on purpose I'm unconscious." That was actually a pretty good excuse, good for Alpha.

Cici seemed to calm down a lot taking in a small breath for a moment. "No it's fine, I just haven't had a lot of time to think about it. I don't think I'll ever fully move on but I won't let it stop me." As she said that though Ciel noticed Yuji looking away, was it because of her words? "I'm sorry if I upset you, I know mourning and what you have to go through is different for everyone. This is just the only way I know how to cope with it. To press on." She was a warrior, death was normal for her. You just had to keep fighting.

With that though Kazuo sensed something, Ciel opening her eyes felt it too. Standing tall she grabbed her sword and quickly ran outside. "Cici? Wait up!" Beta called following after her, followed suit by Alpha.

Making her way outside the rain and thunder had only gotten stronger and stronger. It was to the point where you could barely see anything in the rain. Cici ignored the water falling on her and raised her sword up high. Right in front of the house a massive bolt of thunder would strike, right in front of the Sistermon. She didn't flinch.

From the bolt of thunder arose a digimon, a Thunderbirdmon that seemed to radiate power. "Alpha, Beta. So I've finally found you two." He said as the twins came up next to Ciel who raised her sword towards the digimon.

Alpha had a small look of recognition on his face as he saw them, he knew this digimon. One of the Mercenaries that worked for Myotismon was here!

Yuji's words echoed in Ciel's mind as she stood there in the freezing rain, hand grasping her sword with an intense look on her face. 'Maybe if you're not in a place that's changed for the worst because of it.' Even now with the rain drops beating down on her, rhythmically hitting her right arm she felt it. That same lingering pain that just won't vanish. The foe in front of her who would do anything to get past her and to Alpha and Beta, And lastly the mastermind behind it all pulling string after string to bring her down. She didn't blame Yuji for the words he said, he had no idea. But this was her worse situation, this was what she had to face.... No matter the cost to herself.

"I apologize for disturbing your household, Sir Wisemon. I am simply here to bring these two twins back to my master. I do not wish to harm you or cause any unnecessary conflict." His voice sounded calm despite the raging storm that went on around him, eyes narrow and focused on his task. "Nor do I wish to fight a wounded warrior. Ciel." He stared directly at the Sistermon as he said that, looking straight at her right arm, Ciel without thinking brought her left hand up to cover her shoulder, her face seeming to have a calm and stern focus about it was only betrayed by the raging inferno one could see in her eyes.

"Sorry, but we're not going with you. So beat it, tell him we'll come to him when we're ready! He just has to wait!" Alpha shouted moving in front of Ciel, almost in a protective stance of the Sistermon.

"That's right! You're not taking us anywhere. If you're gonna fight anyone though it's going to be US!" Beta joined in, standing next to her brother. Both quickly evolving straight into their next stages staring at the Thunderbirdmon.

"Got A Problem with that?" They asked at the same time staring the digimon down. The Thunderbirdmon looked at Beta, then at Alpha for a small while before chuckling to himself.

"I'm afraid it wasn't a request, I admire your spirit truly I do. But I'm afraid like it or not you're coming with me." As they said thing the large bird flew backwards, almost as if to take this fight away from the house they were near. Flying near a middle part of the area staring the six of them down. "I am Thunderbirdmon, If you wish to protect those two I regret to say you must do it by defeating me." As he said this he extended his wings causing lightning to strike all around him, exuding a powerful aura from his body.

Alpha and Beta stood ready, alongside Ciel who quickly drew her sword preparing for a fight.
