Posts (x2) please! This is for 88X and 88Y (71A, 76A). Thanks! After what was possibly the weirdest game of her life to date, Rumi found herself sitting at her desk, staring at the ugly yellow bean that stood on a grid. Another color-scheme of characters began falling down to the Plinko Board at the bottom of the monitor, while the blonde began rapidly smashing the escape button. "Nnnope. No, no-no. No." No more of this game. Screw it. Nope. She was over it. For good. Once she was in the clear, and the game had returned to its main menu, with its upbeat tunes, the teen would swivel her chair to look at Manami, who had apparently done the same thing but notably more quietly. "Drugs, amiright?" Rumi exhaled loudly, before using two fingers to fix the strands of hair that framed her face. That had not been fun while it lasted! But, at least now they were sitting safely in Kurumi's room, and she was likely never trusting Grandma's cookies again. Even if they were actually totally normal cookies! Luckily, despite very much disliking company on the average day, Rumi wasn't actually a terrible host that thought visitors should be stuck indoors playing video games all day! Which meant, it was time for a trip somewhere! "Have you checked out any other places around here, aside from," there was a short pause, while glancing at the holosuited Digimon, "wherever you 'got' the computer and nail polish?" It seemed unlikely. Manami didn't really fit in with rules of society, proven by her strong lack of funds, yet sudden acquisition of fancy gaming technology. She would probably run into quite a few problems with fingers that sticky! Especially because Rumi couldn't imagine that Manami was actually being particularly stealthy when she did anything illegal. "Thought we could go check out some sights, then get some food. There's like a digital art museum, or whatever it's called, nearby." Would a place full of fancy lights actually interest Manami? Digimon could do way cooler things! But there were only so many things that the local could think on doing! And taking a thief out for a touristy shopping spree was not going to be on the itinerary! "D'you like cats? There's a cat café pretty close, too." Had Manami met a cat yet? Would she try to collect cat samples? There were a lot of questions, and only so much energy to ask them all. So the blonde was just going to hope for the best and go along with whatever happened. Hopefully, no cats would be harmed in the making of this thread! But, the more she thought, the more holes were getting poked in suggestions for their time in this world! "I dunno though, is there anythin' you've ever wanted to do in the Human World?" Probably not. Humans kind of sucked! Still, it was probably a good idea to get out of the house for a while, while there was still plenty of sunlight and businesses open to do tourist things at! "If there is, might as well do it now, you know?" What was the worst thing that could happen? Wordcount: 520

Posts for me as well! Tysm. It was a good thing to know that Kurumi felt pretty much the same way as the disguised digimon! It could pretty much be said that the only redeeming feature of this whole adventure was that, at the end of it, Manami had recovered the polish in her nails! Which… wasn’t a lot to say, but better than nothing, right?
A look was given to Kurumi. “Those weren’t drugs, silly! That was very real. Well, as real as anything happening in this bland world of yours. Gotta say I wasn’t really a fan of it, though! Would rather not do it again. Ever.” There were equal parts entertainment and seriousness in the digimon’s voice. Almost as if she didn’t mind too much what had happened, even though her words definitely told otherwise.
As one would expect, the answer to the following inquiry would be fairly obvious. “Nope. You told me to visit you, so I did! Why would I do anything else?” Except stealing anything that caught her interest, that is. But that was a bit on the obvious side, wasn’t it? As far as their ‘friendship’ went, if one thing had been fairly certain as far as their interactions went; if Manami wanted something, chances were that she was already in the process of acquiring it if she had the means to do so!
Least to say, she was also an individual that could be easily bribed with promises of new and exciting experiences! Well, maybe not exactly easily, but that was a detail. Anyway! “Sure! I wouldn’t mind learning more from the humans and their world.” Did Kurumi have anything specific in mind, though? Cause, as far as Manami went… “Let’s do everything!” Yep. Just like that.
“I’d love to see what humans are able to craft when they pour their soul into their work!” Humans seemed pretty adept at harvesting materials, if anything. Even Kurumi’s grandmother could transform them into edible substances! Few digimons even understood the basics of such processes. “Cats are okay too.” Truth to be told, Manami sometimes felt like a cat. Or like two, even! The reasons why were of utmost mystery. Well, for her at least.
When it came to her own ideas for stuff to see or do, though? That would definitely be a lot less concise than one would expect. “Nothing comes to mind, but I can probably think about something along the way! Your world isn’t very inspiring, but just like with the polish or that thing I needed to play with you, sometimes I find things that pique my attention!”
And that, highly likely, would also bring the police’s attention as a result. But that was a minor inconvenience at most, right?

Was Manami actually positive that no drugs were involved with being warped into video games? Furthermore, was Rumi actually the type to believe someone like Manami when she insisted drugs weren't involved? She wasn't so sure. After all, would the Digimon even know if they were tripping? Actually, would something like that even take effect on a Digimon? Maybe that was how she was so certain!
"I think I'm done with video games for a while, then," she admitted after a moment of hesitance. Why couldn't they have been absorbed into something less stressful? Like games about living on an island alongside animals with oversized heads! Would have been much nicer overall!
As for why Manami would have done anything (outside of stealing) without Kurumi? Well, it felt obvious to the blonde! "Some people like to explore a little on their own. I dunno." Clearly, the digimon was not 'some people' and clearly Rumi should just assume that she knew absolutely nothing about the human world! Which, was fine. Nobody really should know much about this place. It sucked.
Rising from her seat, the blonde stretched her arms in the air. Doing everything sounded like a lot of effort, but at least she hadn't suggested anything that was too far out of their way! Imagine if she'd given Manami more options! She'd be exhausted by the end of the day! Granted, she was probably going to be exhausted anyway. There was no way things would just go smoothly, right?
"Alright, cool," she uttered, while glancing around the room to make sure she wasn't about to forget anything she needed. Wallet? Check. Phone? Check. Just about anything else? Not actually important. "You ready to head out, then?" Unless Manami had a sudden change of heart about playing more games, she couldn't imagine there would be much reason to stay here any longer!
Still, she had to hope that the Digimon wouldn't get too bored by a museum ultimately. As far as the spirit user was concerned, it was not nearly as interesting as things Digimon could make! But, as far as the human world went, she guessed it was pretty okay. As long as the holosuited 'mon didn't break anything while they were there, at least. As far as cats, though? "Have you met many cats? Of the non-talking variety?" A stark difference between data-based cats, in her own opinion! Unless there wasn't. Rumi had a feeling that being able to talk was a pretty defining feature though, so they probably weren't exactly the same experience. Oh well.
As long as her guest was ready to head out, she'd exit the room and begin toward the front door. "I'm thinking museum first, then café. Sound good?" Unless someone wanted to reverse the order! Or add in other things! Like crimes. "If you can't think of anything, no big deal. I'm sure we can find enough stuff to do either way." No pressure! At all! After all, there were plenty of exciting things in Japan!
With a brief wave to Grams, who was working on another batch of totally normal cookies, they would be out the door! And probably headed to the land of art and cats!

There were many questions lingering in the air at the moment, such as if digimons could truly trip with Human World substances. Especially hat-based ones! Granted, the fact that Manami was wearing a holosuit at the moment definitely would’ve helped in that case. In the end, what precisely had happened was a big mystery, especially considering the thread’s supposed canonicity! But even then, it wasn’t like that mattered a lot, beyond being a somewhat funny anecdote to retell in the future.
“They weren’t so bad, but they get kinda stale, don’t they?” The girl commented. “I don’t see why we did that through some kind of strange machine-thingy instead of doing it on our own! We could’ve created our own Fall Guys stages in the Digital World and then ask other digimons to participate with us!” It would totally be fun! And it had a very small chance to be deadly as well, but that only added to the aforementioned fun! On the computer there were no stakes whatsoever, and that made the whole thing a bit boring in the long term. There was definitely room for improvement, at least in regards to what she thought.
The whole ‘exploring’ deal sounded extremely weird, especially considering a simple fact about it. “Why would I do that when I can do it with you?” It seemed pretty obvious at a first, and even at a second glance. “Sure, I can’t use you as my ride like in the desert, but who better than a native to show me their world?” Least to say, the sights she had seen hadn’t been very interesting, else she would have probably taken a few more detours in her way. But that was a given, pretty much!
Just like her temporary peer, Manami abandoned her position and after making sure her clothes were straightened, proceeded to nod at Kurumi before following her… only to face one of the strangest questions she had been asked in probably a couple of days or so. “I’ve met many cats. They’re fairly common in the Digital World!” Whether they spoke or not, that didn’t matter that much. “I remember this feral Meicoomon I met once. Kinda playful, but it seemed too angry at life for us to have a lengthy conversation. Not like that it could talk, anyway! It was heading to the Village of Beginnings, even though I can’t possibly figure what anyone would want with that place. Babies are slimy, boring, and can’t even be used for materials. Useless.”
Another nod let the blonde know that she was alright with the plan, just for them to finally head out. The way there was fairly calm, and one could say that they had managed to get to the Museum’s back entrance in record time!
However, there was a small problem with that. As they traversed the parking lot, Manami’s eyes became glued to an intense blue machine calmly resting in one of the occupied slots. It wasn’t hard to guess, but the car looked as luxurious as it could be. Definitely owned by a very important person, even though that was inconsequential at the moment for its observer. “Say, Ru-Ru.” Her tone didn’t even try to conceal her intent. “Why don’t we drive around a bit before entering the museum? Could be fun!”
Kurumi definitely didn’t have a choice in the matter, most likely! But giving the illusion of choice was important and all, right?

There was a brief silence, while Rumi contemplated the suggestion of Real Life Fall Guys. It was something that literally hadn't crossed her mind in the slightest! Why would they use computers for this stuff? God. This was why the Digital World was far more superior. "We need to do that sometime." Determination! Necessity! Throwing people into a weird goop lava! Rumi really needed this in her life.
She also wouldn't mind if the slime was replaced with real lava. Just to up the stakes even more.
For now, though, they were stuck in the real world, being tourists for the day! Or, half-tourists. This place wasn't really new to someone who actually lived here, after all! "Aww," the blonde chimed in her usual, rather monotonous tone. "If literally anyone else said that, I would think they were trying to flatter me." But it was Manami saying she wouldn't explore without Rumi. So it was an extremely face-value statement.
Before she could say anything to try to differentiate cats of the human world from cats of the digital, Rumi was given a story about a feral Meicoomon. For a moment, she only stared at Manami. As if she knew exactly what that cat had planned to do! But, the blonde didn't exist back when that encounter had surely taken place. So, frankly, she was clueless. "I dunno, maybe baby Digimon make a good snack." And yet somehow, that joke would really hit the nail on the head!
"Nah. Some people really like babies. Think they're cute, or something. Maybe feral cats do, too." Rumi was certainly not some people. Babies were loud. And messy. And probably would grow up to be little shits like most of their parents. Gross.
Oh well. At least they didn't have to worry about babysitting anything. Or, maybe Rumi was supposed to be babysitting Manami. After letting her guard down, maybe a little too much, they'd reached the museum. But instead of entering, it seemed that a different exhibit had caught the holosuited Digimon's eyes. Oh no.
The girl tapped her index finger to her cheek, clicking her tongue to the roof of her mouth. And then, she pointed at the car that was clearly the topic of this conversation. "That car, specifically?" There were a million ways this was going to go wrong, all racing through Rumi's head. But, she wasn't dumb. The inquiry was a nice gesture. It was not actually a question at all, and they were definitely going to both somehow end up inside the vehicle regardless of how the blonde responded.
"I mean, do you have the keys for it?" Asking someone who could craft products on the fly a question like this was probably useless. At least Rumi could say she tried (at least a little) to dissuade her friend! Regardless of it not even being a half-hearted attempt! "Could be fun, but I do gotta say it's pretty illegal."
As if the word 'illegal' meant anything to them. What a joke.

“Best idea ever, ain’t it?” Real Life Fall Guys sounded a lot better than playing on a computer! Manami didn’t know why anyone hadn’t thought of that one earlier. Sure, getting the participants could be a problem, but it wasn’t; as long as they used some convincing, that could happen in no time!
A pensive expression crossed the digimon’s face at the following remark, even though she eventually just shrugged. “Flattery’s fairly worthless, isn’t it? Can’t see how stroking someone's ego with lies can result in anything productive.” It’d have to take a pretty spineless person and somebody with a pretty weak ego for that work, not to say that there were easier ways to go around doing things than resorting to that.
“But if you want compliments…” A smirk followed suit fairly quickly. “I gotta say that your head is fairly comfy! Kinda like a luxury car, you know? Could stay there all day!” Could that really be considered a compliment, though? It probably depended on Rumi! “You should definitely teach me how you do that to your hair.”
Given how rare trickmons were overall, chances were that nobody would take a seat in the disguised digimon’s head in probably ever, but being prepared just in case wouldn’t hurt, right? After all, trickmons were all bound to be good people, given Manami was one of them.
Tangential thoughts aside, Ru-Ru had a point regarding the Meicoomon’s motives, even though… “Isn’t that a bit boorish? Who in their sane mind would eat babies?” It dawned on her just then that most ferals weren’t in their sane mind. “Ew. That’s so disgusting. And wasteful. There’s so many better ways to go around it. No wonder ferals are considered inferior to actual digimons.”
What else could be expected from them? It was a good thing Manami decided to not associate with them, right? Or to not give the whole deal that much thought, sides that brief mention. After all, the pair were already staring at what probably was a very limited edition car and certainly looked the part! Hard to imagine such a thing not getting Manami’s—or anyone’s attention, really! Its owner must’ve been either overconfident or careless, and now those emotions would be his undoing, or something.
“The very one! Doesn’t it look pretty fancy? I want to try it out.” It was true that this could definitely go wrong in a variety of ways, but it most likely wouldn’t. Manami might’ve been a bit impulsive when it came to things that piqued her interest, but she wasn’t a fool. This would be easy. “It depends on your definition of keys, but sure. Let me procure them.”
While making sure that nobody was around, the digimon dropped her disguise, becoming a Trickmon again! From one moment to the next, one of the cables inside the hat’s crown connected with the handle, and a distinct click followed suit. Just like that, the digimon adopted her human form again. “Done!”
And, just like that, she got inside, waiting until Kurumi did the same, and then proceeded to start the engine. “Why would I care about human laws of all things, Ru-Ru?” Truth to be told, Manami didn’t care about the laws of her own world. Another one was even lower in the priority list. “You can get out if you want, though.” An implicit dare, or a matter-of-fact statement? It was hard to know at the moment, even though it was probably a bit of both.
Taking a moment to give a lot to everything around her, the girl finally asked Kurumi. “Anything I should have in mind while driving these? I’ve only driven Digital World cars.” Fair question, considering that Digital World cars had the potential to be fairly different from their Human World counterparts. But! If the driving part was the same, then the two girls would be leisurely driving through Tokyo’s streets without a care in the world.
One question lingered in the air, however. How much time would it take them before the evident crime was discovered, and the police decided to give them chase? They’d probably find out eventually.

It was truly the best idea ever. And a great plan for them to do in the future, probably! Or not. Rumi was pretty Fall Guys'ed-out for the time being. Though, she wasn't too worried of finding ways to persuade others to join their game! With Manami at her side, she was pretty sure they could be a pretty charismatic duo! Ah well. It was a great plan for another day. Or month.
Was flattery really something that would go over Manami's head that easily? "Yeah, people use it to suck up to people higher-up, thinking it'll make them important too." It was a pretty hit or miss tactic, if Rumi said so herself! Though, it did work with particularly egotistical types. From the spirit user's understanding of Manami, it would make sense that flattery was useless. The digimon at least seemed to be relatively close to the top of the digital food chain!
Rumi was a little less sure about if her head being comfy was a great compliment, though! But, she'd take it. It was probably better than nothing. Maybe. But would hair care routines make a difference on a holosuit? The blonde was pretty sure that Manami didn't have any need for it in digimon form, after all! "Oh, it's easy. You just use some shampoo in the shower, and if you're feeling really motivated that day, you brush it afterward." Maybe the key to comfy hair was to just do absolutely nothing beyond the bare minimum! It would kind of make sense!
At least the blonde didn't have to point out that most feral beings didn't really rely on sanity for anything! Before she could even say anything, the holosuited 'mon had already realized! "I mean, I don't have the palate for it, but I have a feeling feral cats aren't very picky." It was a mon eat mon world out there! Or something along those lines. Literally, apparently. Luckily, Rumi hadn't dealt with too many ferals by this point in her journeys, so she wasn't particularly concerned. And unless it was a really cute baby digimon, she probably didn't care if it got eaten!
But, now that they were out and about, there was less concern on monsters eating children, and more concern on grand theft auto. "It does look quite fancy," the blonde uttered, yellow eyes scanning the roof of the vehicle. Of course it would catch Manami's eyes. How hadn't something like this crossed Kurumi's mind when bringing the other 'girl' out into the public?
Oh. Right. Because normal humans didn't generally think about stealing vehicles, let alone actually doing it.
There was a glance around, while Manami crafted her keys. Luckily, it seemed like a slow day for foot traffic in the area. Or any traffic, really. Thank god. With keys crafted and digimon re-holosuited, soon both parties were in the car. The girl was quick to put on her seatbelt, more than prepared for the fallout of this adventure. "I dunno, might make it difficult for you to do things later?" Ignore than Manami could just buy a whole new holosuit on a whim! Or reconfigure the image? Whatever. Kurumi wasn't sure how those things worked, but she was sure there was a way to change the person she was masquerading as!
After all of this, the blonde may have to look into one to be able to walk around Shibuya without being arrested, too! Hopefully they could work on humans! Or spirit forms. Whatever to prevent her from spending far too long behind bars!
There was an offering to escape the ride, though! Which would seem really nice! If she had more faith in the driver, that was. "Nah, I'm already sitting down." Not a missed beat! What wouldn't be said was that the scene of Kurumi stepping out of the vehicle and promptly being run over by this very car had definitely crossed her mind. It was probably safer inside.
Admittedly, Rumi had no idea what the inside of a Digital World car looked like! Were they different at all? The teen clicked her tongue to the roof of her mouth. "Nah. Key starts car. That," she gestured to one of the sticks in the vehicle, "tells the car to go forward or backward. And uh," she glanced to the mirrors, "you can adjust those to see around you better, if you want?" Somehow she doubted that Manami cared much about her blind spots!
Thank God that Kurumi wasn't a driver's education teacher. She'd obviously missed several things to mention. But it was fine! "It's prob'ly all the same as a Digital World car, you know?" And if it wasn't, the term 'crash course' was going to be taken literal! Shame she forgot to mention anything about putting the car back in park at the end. Minor details, right?
Unless there were any further questions, it looked like Manami was free to take them on the road!

Maybe Manami was bound to never quite grasp the potential applications of flattery. At least for her, the whole deal sounded like a huge waste of time, and chances were that most of Rumi’s words regarding it would fail at convincing her otherwise. Probably the fact that she never had to resort to such tactics in order to survive fueled her reasoning, but she also failed to see how vain compliments could really advance anyone’s position on anything! All in all, quite the alien concept. As expected, a shrug was the most adequate response to the blonde’s explanation. Hair care routines, though? That was extremely interesting for the digimon! Manami absorbed the knowledge with the efficiency of a sponge. Not like there was much knowledge to absorb, but she really took Ru-Ru’s words to heart! “Do you think my hair would look good with buns like yours? I’m unsure!” She wasn’t even positive on whether styling it in such a way was even possible for non-Rumi individuals; as far as Manami was aware, the young woman was the only one she had seen possessing such a style. Had to mean something, right? Conventional knowledge seemed to be the blonde’s forte; feral individuals possessing as much sense of taste as a piece of charcoal was an obvious conclusion when looked at it in hindsight. Maybe Manami herself had been aware of it, but wilfully ignored it due to its sheer tastelessness. Would anyone be able to blame her for that? Probably not! Just like nobody could blame her for wanting to drive a fancy car! Was this the type that had a picnic table inside its trunk? Likely, even though the disguised digimon wasn’t stopping to check that one out. The road was calling, after all! “Didn’t know you were a worrywart, Ru-Ru.” She commented. “Do you think anyone’s gonna be able to identify us inside this thing?” Even at a glance, the windows seemed to have an extremely low tinting percentage. Sure, they could spot the two girls from the windshield, but that just added to the excitement! “And if everything else fails, you can always say you were my hostage or something! Ain’t that exciting?” Regarding Manami herself, how would anyone possibly be able to trace her? She was pretty much a N.N. that would probably visit only sporadically, and could always change her holosuit for something else! Maybe if she got exposed, she could even pick something that matched with Kurumi a bit more. That’d add to the fun! Without much else to be said regarding the situation except a quick nod and a “Got it!” regarding the blonde’s instructions, the car’s engine roared to life and the duo promptly exited the parking lot towards a random destination at full speed! Was it even a surprise that Manami was a speed demon? Hardly so, but at least it seemed like she was really enjoying herself. “Ain’t this fun, Ru-Ru? This is a lot better than Fall Guys!!” The lingering feeling that the joy phase of their joyride would end soon enough, especially with the sirens faintly sounding in the distance, but that was more than expected. What Manami would do about it, at least for the time being, was uncertain, however.
