Emmy was used to being inside large, expansive buildings. She wasn't so used to them being so crowded, however. She had certainly expected such, but there was only so much her expectations could ward off the reality of it all. Countless faces all around her, most simply going about their day, occasionally there would be a lingering gaze. And Emmy had to wonder what it was that brought it to her, specifically.
She certainly didn't have the look of a local, what with her light blond hair and large, blue eyes. And she was all alone, without any blond adults with blue eyes by her side. But Emmy had prepared for her excursion. She had read somewhere that it was perfectly normal for kids her age to take the train unaccompanied by an adult. And seeing a foreigner in a train station shouldn't be such a rare sight, right?
Maybe she was just imagining it. She was pretty nervous as it was. It wasn't every day she ran away from her parents while in a foreign country. And while she did her best to study Japanese the best she could, she never had the opportunity to put it into practice.
She had put a lot of effort and preparation into this plan, and things were finally coming into fruition. But the knots in her stomach were twisting all the same. She had successfully gotten away from her parents, she had her back packed with supplies, and all that was left was to find this train that led to a special place. A fantasy land full of creatures of all shapes and sizes. It sounded ridiculous the more Emmy thought about it, but there was something in her gut, past all the knots in her stomach, the self-consciousness, the nervousness... for some reason, she just knew that it was real.
But she also realized that asking for directions to the "Magic Train" wasn't going to yield any answers other than, "Where are your parents, crazy little girl?"
So she wandered the terminal without any help. Most of the signs had English on them, so it wasn't hard to find out where she was going. But as expected, there was no convenient sign pointing to where she wanted to go.
She had been wandering the station for over an hour at this point. She might have packed her backpack a little too full, because her back and shoulders were getting sore. And her frustration was beginning to get the better of her. Emmy was on a clock, and if she took too long to find this special train, then the more likely she might get found and that would ruin her chances entirely. Not to mention that she get grounded for like, a week. Maybe two!
All this was causing a surge of nervousness in the girl. She could feel the tears of frustration well up in her eyes, but she had to force herself not to cry or make any kind of scene! That would only make things worse! She clenched her fists, took a deep breath, and slapped her cheeks! And with that, no more tears!
So naturally, her attempts to psych herself up were drawing attention to her.

Zack looked out over the crowd, yawning as he was lulled into a daze by the shuffling of feet and murmuring of people talking as they walked or barking into their phones. There really was nothing like an impossibly huge crowd to make you feel disconnected from the rest of the human race while being surrounded by them. He needed to remember the directions he was given to the Trailmon platform. He and Marigold had to see a man about some building supplies and a plot of land for his wild, swinging for the moon idea. His eye, however, locked on something over the seething waves of bodies. At first it was just a hole in the wider crowd, a small cell of space that seemed like it wasn't actively being filled for a moment. But he looked closer and saw the bouncing wheat gold strands of blonde hair. He stood on his tiptoes a little to see a girl, young, all alone, looking more like him than like any person she was sharing the rest o the station with. What cinched his reaction was the flushing of red to her face, the telltale sparkle of tears welling in her eyes.
Japan is, of course, a nation of overwhelming etiquette and politeness. Which is something someone should have reminded Zack of when he shoved his weight through the crowd with a reckless and determined looking abandon. Using his shoulder to wedge space between the commuters until, in only a moment, he as standing above Emily. He squatted down to match her eyeline, his powerful body clashing and melding with his soft and slowly smiling face.
"Hey there, little lady." He said in a distinctly American accent, a northeastern patter that was close to Emily's own Connecticut sway but more rural and a tad thicker. Depending on how close to the New English pulse Emily was, it wouldn't be hard to peg a Mainer when she saw one. "Are you missing your parents?" He said. Slowly, softly reaching out and offering his hand. "Come on. I know where the info desk is." He said, keeping his voice low, soft and as reassuring as he can. He was dressed in a soft t-shirt with the Green Lantern logo on the front and loose fitted blue jeans. He had a pack slung over his shoulder, from one of the netted side pockets half slumped a humanoid looking bug plushie.
He stood up, still offering her his hand, giving her as much time as she needed to feel safe. Knowing what it might look or sound like to a girl for an older man to just walk up to her all alone and offer to lead her around.
"You don't have to be afraid. Here. My name's Zack, Zack Zello. I promise I won't bring you anywhere people can't see you ok?" He said, trying to run down every concern that she might have as he looked down on her. They looked close enough that the locals probably assumed they were related. What might draw Emily's eye though wasn't any of that but at the soft shuffle in the corner of her eyes, if she was fast enough she might catch Marigold, unable to stop herself, instinctivley scratching at an itch on her tiny, nubby arms.

Admittedly, things weren't exactly going as planned, but seeing some random dude speaking her language wasn't quite what she expected. Maybe a security guard or a police officer or something, seeing as she'd been practically loitering for a while now. An adult man coming up to check on her just to see if she was alright. And to help her find her parents. Which would present a problem.
He introduced himself, and Emmy couldn't help but instinctively blurt out, "I'm Emily, it's nice to meet you, sir!" She didn't take his hand, but instead an honest-to-god, albeit brief curtsy, which she immediately wanted to kick herself afterward. She was a runaway now, so she shouldn't be giving information about herself! But responding to introductions was something ingrained in her, lest her bashful nature embarrass her parents.
"But you don't have to do any of that, Mr. Zello," She responded to his offer. "I know exactly where I'm going, so you don't have to worry about me at all!" Her voice was just a little shaky, however. Lying wasn't exactly a skillset she had mastered just yet.
Then something caught her attention, if only for a brief moment. She wasn't sure what she had seen, however, and whatever it was, she didn't notice it anymore. Odd. She turned her attention back towards Zack, and gave him a gentle smile. "Umm... There's someplace I have to be now, so I'll be off now! It was nice to meet you sir, and thank you again for worrying about me!" She grasped at the shoulder straps of her backpack, if only to relieve some of the pressure, and turned around to walk away.

Zack watched her walk away, placing his hands on his hips and tapping his foot in some kind of anxiety. He looked like he was trying to conjure up a reason to come with her, just because he didn't want to leave a little girl all by herself in a place like this. The plush in his side pocket shuffled and shifted position, too small and minute to be seen at a distance.
"What do you think, baby girl?" He said to seemingly no one in particular, still watching Emily's blonde hair bobbing up and down, a moving spot in the sea of people as she shuffled from one side of the platform toward the other, clear just from the motion that she had no idea what she was doing or where she was going.
"I think even you can't be trusting enough to not know she was lying through her teeth. She's either running from something, embarrassed about being lost, or both. I think it's better if you keep a wide breath but be ready to get into costume if something happens." Marigold said from the pocket, trying her best to murmur quietly so as to not draw overt attention from the passing crowd, unless someone was looking very closely they could assume Zack was simply wearing and talking into an earpiece.
Zack sighed, not thrilled about the idea of following a young woman who just told him on no uncertain terms to get lost, his morality tearing itself in half over it. His concern for her safety eventually won out and he began following behind, making sure to avert his eyes when or if she looked back in his direction.

It would be clear to anyone stalking watching her, but Emmy wasn't able to find what she was looking for. And while it was more than a little frustrating, the girl tried to keep her wits about her. She wanted to scream and cry and maybe even punch a pillow or something!
But she couldn't. She didn't want to make a scene, especially now that she was on her own for the time being. But at the same time, she had spent so much time preparing for this! She studied up on a foreign language, begged convinced her parents to vacation here in Japan, and even managed to sneak out on her own, all the way to Shibuya Station! She was right where she was supposed to be, to the place that Miss Yuki told her about, but she couldn't even find the bloody entrance!
She felt herself wanting to panic, but she managed to suppress it by taking a deep breath and looking around. Nothing seemed out of place. Except for...
Mr. Zello, the man that tried to help her earlier. He looked like he was watching her. Which could be a problem. And it was kind of creepy. Where she came from, adults shouldn't be watching kids they didn't know. He seemed like a nice person, though, so Emmy felt a little conflicted. Either way, the fact that he was watching her could draw attention in of itself. So... she had to get him to scram. Without making a scene. She could tell someone, but that would bring attention to Emmy as well. Which meant she had to deal with him herself. But how could she convince him to go away...?
Well... she was on a mission that sounded crazy, right? And if the truth seemed crazy, why not be honest?
She made her way through the people between them, and stood before the man once again. "E-excuse me, Mr. Zello, I'm sorry to bother you, but there might be a way you can help me!" She asked as gently as she could. This could backfire, sure, but between the panic that she was constantly trying to suppress, the little girl really didn't see any other options at this point. "So... I'm not looking for an ordinary train, but... I'm... I'm looking for a magic train! It... takes you to another world, where there are all kinds of monsters... oh, they're monsters, but not in a bad way... but they're all kinds of shapes and sizes! And there's a magic train that's actually alive that can take me there! Do you think you can help me find it, Mr. Zello?"
This was a major gamble! If she was lucky, he would just think that she was crazy and leave her alone. If she wasn't however, this man might take it upon himself to try and get help for her. It was weird trying to put it words, now that she was actually attempting it.
...Was she crazy, after all?

Zack frozen, held solid in his position when she came up to him. Crap, busted. And there were not many worse things to get busted FOR than following a small girl around in a train station. If he had to call his mother from halfway across the globe in order to get bailed out for stalking a child he would be dead of embarrassment by morning.
"Now hold on a second miss-!" He started to say before she actually continued with what was on her mind, the more and more she spoke, the wider and wider his eyes got until he was just gawking down at her hard enough to almost convince her for a moment that her bluff had paid off and he did think that she was totally nuts. He looked over both of his shoulders, making as sure as he possibly could that nobody was eavesdropping on this strange conversation. He squatted down, his arms over his knees and he looked into her eyes, suddenly dead serious.
"Listen to me, Emily and listen to me close because you have no idea what you are walking into." He said, a deep, grave tone echoing in the depths of his voice as he continued to peak back and forth to make sure nobody was paying undue attention to what the two of them were talking about. "You are talking about piercing a veil that you can NOT put back once you push it aside, do you understand me? The journey you're on is not the kind of thing a woman your age should be undertaking without the proper...accompaniment." He said, just as Emily would begin to notice the shifting of his shirt, as if something was pulling on it around the bottom, crawling along. That strange humanoid bug plushie was no plushie at all, crawling onto his lap and then looking up at her with eyes filled with something that could not be mistaken for anything other than life.
"The world you're after? It's as real as anything but it's also more dangerous than you can possibly imagine. Whoever told you about this place didn't describe it as being full of MONSTERS for flavor." Said the tiny bug girl, no bigger than a beanie baby. Zack gave her only long enough for all of that to sink in before he sighed, shaking his head.
"This is Marigold. She's a digimon, one of the "monsters" from this world you're looking for. And I can take you there. Why am I going to take you there? Because looking in your eyes I can tell you're going to find a way in with or without adult supervision, so you should have someone able to watch your back before you get yourself killed. So I'm gonna lay out some ground rules." He said, standing and placing Marigold gingerly onto Emily's shoulder where she instinctively slumped to one side like a plush clipped to the shirt sleeve. "You will stay exactly where I can see you, you will keep Marigold on your person at all times and you will do EXACTLY. as. I. Say. Okay? you have no idea what you're in for. NONE."

This all began to sound a little too good to be true. First she thought it looked like he was gonna back off, but then Mr. Zello got real serious, real quick. Started lecturing her about... well... how she was going to enter another world. Which sounded more than a little fishy to the girl. After all, the ONE person that she interacted with in this entire crowded train station just happens to be the guy that could help her? Emmy was on the verge of a panic attack, but even she thought was suspicious.
But those very same suspicions faded away when she was introduced to Marigold. The tiny, adorable little bug thingy that she was, and it started talking to her. And rather scream in surprise, she just nodded, wide-eyed.
Also, she started to cry. It wasn't that she was scared, or really anything to do with Mr. Zello. He certainly seemed to be a bit of a buzzkill and was talking like this place was some sort of dangerous, horrific world, but she wasn't really focusing on that at the moment. Instead, she was relieved. She most certainly had her doubts about whether this world existed or not, but she wanted to trust Miss Yuki. And as it turns out, she wasn't lying after all. "It's very nice to meet you, Marigold!"
However, Mr. Zello was incredibly serious at the moment. So she wiped her tears away with her arm, and nodded towards the man crouched down in front of her. "I understand, Mr. Zello! Well... Apparently I don't understand, but I promise to be cautious and keep an open mind!" She put on a determined face and pushed back the more weird thoughts going on in the back of her mind. Like how she was essentially letting this stranger kidnap her. And all because he had a talking beanie-baby.

Zack's face quickly softened as she began to cry, though the smile on her face made it clear that they were tears of joy not the totally logical reaction to what he was telling her as an older man on the sidelines of a large trains station. No if she had been crying about THAT he would feel completely justified in jumping out in front of a moving train when the next one rolled in. he reached into a side pocket of his backpack and handed her a package of tissues, people in this country seemed to give them away like candies which, while slightly annoying, was at least useful.
"Emily, I don't mean to scare you, it's just that Marigold and I want you to be safe. And I'm sure the people who are waiting for you at home want you to be safe too. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you got hurt. The Digital World is a wonderful place full of wonderful people. but it's like the real world too, not everyone is going to be nice, or safe, or trustworthy." he explained, hesitating for a minute before taking a gamble, reaching out and patting her on the top of her platinum blonde head.
"Yea! Plus, if he does anything shady you have my full approval to kick him in the nuts and run screaming for this hills." Marigold said, giggling to herself as Zack frowned at his "daughter's" inappropriate sense of humor. "Love you dad~" She said, still giggling, reaching out with her tiny arm to boop him on the nose.
"Marigold, you and I are going to have a long conversation at a later date of where on earth you heard something like that. But, first thing's first..." he stood up straight, bowing and sweeping out a hand in the direction they were going to travel. "Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime."

And as it turns out, Mr. Zello wasn't as intense as Emmy thought. He was just that intent on her safety. Which might be a good thing. So Emmy supposed she could let him get away with patting her on the head, however much of a discomfort it was. And Marigold's addition forced a snicker out of her. Plus, she called him 'dad'? "I-it's okay, Marigold! If Mr. Zello tries any funny business, I'll... I'll kick him so hard in his balls you'll never have to worry about being an older sibling!" Of course, there was still adoption, but that was just semantics!
Emmy couldn't help but crack a genuine smile. She never really had the opportunity to say something so horrendously vulgar, and unlike the panic-inducing anxiety of running away, there was a certain thrill to being so crass. Maybe... maybe she could even try saying a swear word or two! Well... she would probably have to work up to that. One shouldn't use such intense words frivolously, or else they'd lose their meaning!
But enough about letting loose while she wasn't without any parental supervision! It was time for Zack to guide her to a whole new world! A world of adventure, monsters, and maybe a whole bunch of other stuff Emmy could only imagine! They moved towards a gate that Emmy had sworn she had passed through multiple times during her frantic searching. And yet, while this part of the station itself seemed perfectly normal, the train itself looked... peculiar. For starters, it had eyes on the front. It was looking right at the approaching Emmy, Mr. Zello, and Marigold. Miss Yuki had told her that where she came from, the trains were... people, but it was still quite unsettling. The group got in a line of otherwise perfectly-normal group of people as they slowly boarded the train, but... that was a little insensitive, right?
"Umm... Sorry for the trouble... train-san..." Emmy stopped in front of the doors. She wasn't sure what part she should be looking at when talking to a train person. Then there was a groan from behind her.
"Hey, kid! Stop blabberin' to the damned Trailmon already and get a move on! We don't got all day!" A human that looked to be in his early 20's barked impatiently. "Some of us have to work in the mornin'!"
"I'm sorry!" Emmy declared in a panic, quickly hopping into the train and trying her best to be out of the way.

Marigold threw her head back so hard laughing as they walked down onto the secret platform that she nearly toppled over the edge of Emmy's shoulders and down onto the floor, though she probably would have been able to at least break her fall if she did slide off.
"If I end up with older siblings then we've got a lot more problems on our hands already!" She said, her childish, silvery laugh like music to Emmy's ears. She was close enough that her talking with so much energy should have been obnoxious, instead, it was endearing. "By the way, now that we're in the station. Give me one second. Puroromon digivolve to...!" She leaps softly from Emmy's shoulder, is enveloped in a flash of light and appears again as a large bee creature, her crimson scarf flapping in the air as she took a buzzing hover over Emmy's shoulder. "Fanbeemon!" She finished.
"Marigold's not wrong little lady. if she ends up with older siblings either we've run into her biological family or I went back in time to adopt another kid before her. Neither of which is likely." he said, his head scanning back and forth, watching for anything untoward with the young lady in tow as he hopped onto the Trailmon. "All aboard, mind the gap and take your seats ladies and gentlemen." Zack spun on his heels to address the fellow passenger that had shouted at Emmy. "Let's get one thing straight you joyless @#$%, you shout at either of the kids with me like that again you'll be taking this train ride with your wrists tied to the rear bumper." he said, standing up for them and also standing up a tad taller than he had looked when he and Emmy had first met.
"My dad is technically more of like...my partner. A digimon and a human. That's how it is traditionally anyway. he's my dad because...well, I never really had anybody else. So he's my partner and he's my dad. Lucky me." She said, only half sarcastically as she nuzzled in beside Emmy in her seat. Zack sat to the far side of Marigold, he didn't want to be too close to Emmy in case he was making her uncomfortable so he let Marigold do most of the work of watching over her. He unzipped his bag, handing Marigold what looked like a bag full of dried twigs and branches of various kinds with a few leaves sprinkled in, passing her a heavy double sized candy bar if she would take it and opening a well worn comic book on his lap.

Things got situated fairly quickly as everyone took their spots on the train. It wasn't a particularly crowded cart, but with the recent tension Emmy definitely felt stuffed. Marigold's sudden transformation into a big bee thing took her by surprise, but when the train started moving, all the passengers on there gave her another one.
As once the train started moving, several of the passenger's began to shimmer and change. And while there were a couple of other humans other than Emmy and Mr. Zello, the train was full of more people like Marigold than humans.
Including the grumpy guy from earlier who chastised Emmy, and then promptly got threatened Mr. Zello with the powers of crass language. He was this yellowish and orange amphibian mammal thing with several sharp blades that looked like dorsal fins on his back. "Huh? You wanna have a go at it, human? I bet you won't be talkin' so tough once I cut ya down to size!" He growled, clearly ready to be confrontational. But then another human came up behind the loudmouthed Digimon, and placed a firm hand on his backside.
It was a rather dapper-looking gentleman, complete with a bright red suit, top hat, and cane. "Excuse me, little Gizamon, but you seem to be making a mistake," He stated in a quiet, calm voice, then held up three fingers. "Because there are three kinds of humans that ride a Trailmon."
He pointed towards Emmy, who looked fairly tense and nervous at the situation. "There's the humans that are too weak or gentle to contest you. Of course you can push them around however you please, but you'd be incredibly rude in the process."
He pointed over towards Mr. Zello. "Then there's the humans that are willing and most likely capable of subduing an unruly child Digimon such as yourself! And whatever your reasons for disliking humans are, it would be embarrassing if you were to be humiliated by one, would it not?"
And then he turned the Gizamon around to meet his eyes. "And then there's the Digimon that are too large or powerful to fit inside the confines of a Trailmon. Ones that had a long day in the human world, and just want a peaceful, uneventful ride back home. That's the one you really need to look out for. Now, with two out of those three options resulting in your misfortune, to you really think that it's appropriate to continue behaving in this manner?"
The Gizamon was silent for a long moment before turning around and facing a wall for the rest of the train ride, muttering something about totally being able to take anyone who picked a fight with him under his breath.
But for Emmy, none of that mattered too much. Rude passengers aside, she was really here. In a train full of Digimon, heading to their home world! "This is real..." She couldn't help but say in excitement. "This is really real..." She looked over to Mr. Zello and Marigold. And there were even people willing to guide her through this place.
But of course, once she got there, she realized that she didn't actually have any concrete plans. Mostly because she didn't expect to ever make it this far. So it begged the question.
...What now?

Zack smiled at Aurus, his smile becoming broad and glinting with perfect ivory teeth, his face decorated with a couple of the scars he had gotten at younger ages from pulling stunts exactly like that on folks of exactly that kind. He'd gotten older since then, more able to back up his heroic blustering but he was still a man among monsters with more nobility than brains. Zack reached out a hand to Aurus, offering it to shake.
"It's always nice to meet someone else who's willing to stand up when some idiot feels the need to step out of line. I can understand getting a bit ticked at someone idling on the platform, but barking at a kid is when I start to boil. Zack, by the way. Zack Zello. My kid over there is Marigold and the hanger on is Emmy." He said, Marigold giving an eager and earnest little wave when her name was called on before she turned to face Emmy. She scooted up closer to her, looking up into Emmy's deep blue eyes with her own.
"Penny for your thoughts?" She said as the "adults" set to talking. She was used to making her own fun while her father did some grandstanding deed or made himself the center of attention for whatever reason. She'd be there just in case he dove head first in over his own level like usual but for right now she had been given a job. To her eye, it was a very important one too. Back at the station her father had entrusted her with watching over Emmy while they took her on this impromptu tour of the Digital World and even if that clause was half forgotten in all the excitement and good vibes she still remembered and was taking the task as seriously as the grave. "Sorry, we both know that this is...alot. My dad barely slept for the first two weeks after I was adopted before we met some people who were able to help him. I think that that's why he was willing to help you. Because he knew you needed people to look after you. Everyone needs someone to look after them sometimes. That's what he says. It's why you've got to be kind." She rambled, if only slightly.
Emmy hadn't had a chance to get a good read on Marigold so far. She was snarky of her father's antics but still seemed to contain the noble and heroic soul that was a part of her father's blood. She was just as committed to helping Emmy's journey go off without a hitch as he was, even if she was a bit more approachable about it for not being so high strung.
"if you want to take a load off, I probably won't be using mine. i tend to always feel bad when I take a seat on a crowded train." He said to the as yet unintroduced Digimon who had gone out of his way to back up Zack's admittedly a tad violent bluff. he swept a hand in that direction to the seat that was to one side of Marigold, though not in between her and Emmy. Zack was trusting, sure, but not nearly trusting enough to sit down or leave Emmy without a buffer from any other gruff Digimon with something or other to prove.

The dapper-looking gentleman in the red suit let out an amused chuckle as he shook Mr. Zello's hand, giving him a firm two shakes before letting go. "Young Digimon don't always know when they're being unruly. I feel it's the responsibility of every older Digimon to... gently put them in their place, lest one day they find another Digimon that's far less gentle," He explained. "And my name on your side of things is simply Mr. Jones. But on my side of the world you can call me Tyrannomon,"
Mr. Zello offered a seat to the dapper gentleman with the dinosaur name, but he held up a palm and shook his head. "No, no, but the offer is appreciated. I'm quite used to not having seats my size, and I never quite know what to do with myself while sitting when there is one."
And as for Mari's conversation with Emmy... It was kind of hard to put into words. "It's a lot, for sure, but it's also..." Like a forgotten dream come true. "I used to hear old stories about this place ever since I was very young..." There was still a hint of caution in her tone, though. Simply put, for as much as she trusted Mr. Zello and Marigold, she still didn't want to go around advertising her wealth to others. It was something ingrained in her from an early age.
"She was my... old babysitter. Miss Yuki. She would tell me stories almost every night about another world. There was a city floating in the clouds. A giant turtle that had a city on its back. A valley where dragons flew freely. A beach where it was like summer all year around. And there were humans that could work alongside the natives. Like you and Mr. Zello..."
She fidgeted in her seat a bit. "I knew that it all sounded crazy, but I believed Miss Yuki. But after she went away, I started to have my doubts. So I wanted to find out for myself. And..." She squirmed around, as if there were someone pressing down on her shoulders. "I put a lot on the line to come here, but I think that... I wasn't expecting it to be real anymore. And now I don't know what to think. I want to cry, and laugh, frolic, and hide, jump, and scream all at the same time!"
She started to giggle at the sheer hilarity of her predicament. "I'm... I'm sorry. I don't know if what I'm saying is making any sense, but... thank you for helping me! Even if you just think you're doing your duty, thank you!"
And as if on cue, the train came to a halt, and before she knew it, they had arrived in the Digital World. The doors opened, and the Gizamon from before groaned "Finally! That took frickin' forever!" Naturally, the ride had only taken five minutes at most.
He hopped his way past the train cart's other occupants to be the first to exit and when the doors opened, he all but crashed into someone waiting outside. A small creature wrapped in a dirty, brown cloak. The two stumbled over one another, and the Gizamon shouted. "Hey, what the hell!? You're supposed to wait until the passengers leave before you get on, idiot! Are you tryin' to start something? 'Cause I'll tear you to pieces if you wanna go at it!"
Some people learn their lesson. But apparently some don't. But as for the little cloaked figure, with a large, exposed ear?
"Sorry..." A young voice said in a demure, hushed tone.

Zack nodded along to the words of the dapper stranger, chuckling to him as he had to really "reboot" his brain in order to recognize that even most of the humans around them in the Digital World were Digimon themselves most times.
"Good to know my life hasn't gotten any less insane, talking to a tyrannosaur in a nice suit." he snickered, not out of any mean spirited energy toward his conversation partner, the exact opposite in fact. it was imperative that he actually take the time to have a step back to look at the lifestyle he had found himself in so that he wouldn't become totally disconnected from the logical part of his mind, what little of that part of him there was at least.
"You..." Marigold begins to speak, starting the statement and then closing her mandibles, looking forward out the scenery of the opposite window as it streaked past in long darts of smudging color. "You and I existed on opposite places it seems, but ended up in nearly the same spot." She paused again, wondering if she really wanted to go over with this story but decided it was worthwhile to share. "I was born here, in the Digital World with...nothing. Nothing an no one. Abandoned in the middle of the forest. I...didn't live long, the first time around. And I woke up, this time on the dorm room floor of that man over there." She said, pointing at Zack as he continues to chit chat with the Tyrannomon that had come to their rescue. "That was the moment my life actually started, when the digital world became an association with loneliness and hunger and pain and your human word became warm and safe and happy." She said running one of her pointed leg bottoms along the fabric of her beloved crimson scarf that hung from around her neck. "But...I do know EXACTLY what you mean, when the shadows part and you're suddenly looking up at the sun for what seems like the first time in your entire life. When everything crashes down on you at once because you had locked it away, afraid it would crush you if you sat with it for too long. Questioning whether or not getting to live the life that you dreamed of HAS to be a dream after all." Marigold reached, softly, gently taking Emmy's hand and holding it with one of her own legs, being gentle about the bronze colored point at the end. "But it's not a dream, Emmy. I promise. It's real, your best life, the hope and wonder you're dreaming of? It IS real, and you just have to reach out, grasp it and never, ever let go." She said, looking over to her father as she let it fully sink in over Emmy just how different and alike the two of them were as the train slowly squealed and then hissed to a stop.
Zack's head snapped to one side when he saw the trouble making Gizamon and the poor incoming passenger stumble over one another. It didn't take more than a heartbeat for his fists to ball at his sides, stomping to the door and reaching out with one hand, wrapping his fingers around both of the Gizamon's flopping, fuzzy ears, YANKING upward to hoist the creature off the ground. He transferred both ears to one hand, turning to beast so that he was nose to nose with the scowling blonde hero.
"I don't suppose I just heard you cursing at ANOTHER passenger because of your impatient bullcrap did I? I couldn't have, because if I DID I'd have to punt you like a deflated soccer ball for starters."
