Run, run, run, run...!
Faster, faster, faster, faster...!
These were the thoughts of the Agumon and Gabumon that were currently running through the Server Woods, in a desperate attempts to flee from a much stronger Digimon than them, a Fangmon who saw the two of them as tasty data to absorb. The two ran harder and faster as much as they could, but Fangmon was still getting closer and closer. Their panting could be heard getting louder as they lost more energy during the chase...
Suddenly, as if a miracle had occurred, a portal appeared many feet in front of them. The Agumon and Gabumon saw their chance; if they could just jump through there, they'd be free of the Fangmon! With renewed motivation, the two rookie levels pushed themselves to run even faster than before... the portal was beginning to close... just a few more feet...! "You're doing it again, Kaori," the redheaded teen on the right said to a very similar looking redheaded teen on the left as they crossed one of the many bridges of the Shibuya River in order to make their way back home from school.
"What am I doing again, Saori?" Kaori responded, looking at her twin sister and tilting her head in a cute yet confused manner.
"You're going on and on about those monster sightings again," Saori responded. Kaori has had a very bizarre interest in the supernatural all of her life, so all of these rumors about monsters did wonders for her creative, conspiracy theory creating mind. "That's all you've been talking about at school all day long. I love you, but are you ever going to shut up about it?
"But they're real!" Kaori insisted. "I know they're real! There have been so many sightings, and I overheard some guys at school talk about this one who was wearing a rain coat, and-"
"I swear, ever since that one Golden Week it's been 'monster sighting' this and 'magic beings' that," Saori interrupted, sounding very annoyed. "Like I said before, it was just some big special show that went wrong, Kaori. When are you ever going to let that stuff go? You're living in a fantasy. Magic doesn't exist, and monsters certainly don't exist either."
"B-But...!" Kaori tried to argue, but it was futile. Arguing more would just make Saori angrier. She sighed in disappointment. "Yeah, you're right... you're always ri-"
And just like that a giant circle of light appeared in front of the two, interrupting Kaori in the process. Both twins shielded their eyes immediately upon it appearing. When the light dimmed down, the girls both looked at the shining light... and then before they knew it, something had leaped out of it and had landed right in front of them before the portal closed itself. It looked to be a yellow dinosaur with green eyes, and a lizard with a wolf pelt and red eyes. Both the humans and the creatures looked at each other...
...before both of the twin human girls screamed in unison. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

There were a lot of things that Yua didn't like right now. The smell of the landfill that was the Shibuya River. The fact that she was awake running errands at way too early of a time (mid-to-late afternoon), her pounding hangover, and the fact that her sister wasn't helping in the slightest by continuing to talk with that high-pitched tone she called a voice.
"..and then we took out the guy's partner and the my partner and I got to fool around and flex on him for a bit before we finally took him out! We were gonna wombo-combo the hell outta him, but when my partner went for the kill, I leapt off-stage and dunked both my opponent and my partner! God, I wish it were an offline tournament! The look on his face woulda been priceless!" Subaru let out a boisterous, yet grating laugh that was like nails going into the hangover-ridden Subaru's eyes and ears. "But then my partner quit out after that, and I got dq'd. That's gonna be the last time I partner with randos!"
"You're partnering with randoms because you don't have any friends..." Yua pointed out in an exasperated tone.
"So untrue! I've got friends, like those losers from the arcade!" Subaru responded. "There's pimple-cheeks, and crooked-nose, and bitch-face, and gap-tooth! Oh, and baldy-pants!"
"What about that one boy, Takeshi-kun, I think was his name...?"
"I had already brought up bitch-face!" Subaru answered dismissively.
"Mmhm..." Yua wanted this conversation to end. And it would. But at the cost of hearing high-pitched screams. Yua let out another long and exasperated sigh. Seriously? Whoever it was couldn't wait five more minutes to scream? But considering this was the Shibuya River... it might be something related to... Yua's side job. So the disguised decided to move out.
"Huh? Oh, we're actually going in the direction of the screams? Well... ok!" It wasn't hard to find them after that. A pair of identical-looking human girls, and a pair of Digimon, an Agumon and Gabumon. Clean-up might be a bit of a hassle, but it wasn't too dangerous.
And Subaru apparently agreed. "Seriously!? That was all the screaming was about? Just a couple of lizard brats? What a bunch of-"
"Here, take this and shut up," Yua interrupted, pulling out a bulky, gray, retro-looking handheld gaming device in her robes and silencing her tiny sister for the time being.
"m'kay..." she muttered, her eyes glued to the puny dot-matrix screen and ignoring the world around her.
It definitely would look strange to these girls. First these lizard monsters showed up out of nowhere, then a young woman and small child showed up, dressed up like shrine maidens that just got back from an anime convention. But first things first. There's an order to these things.
"Are you two alright?" Yua asked the pair of young women, approaching them with exhausted, bloodshot eyes. Then she looked past them, towards the Digimon. "And you two. What brings you guys over here on this side?"
Yua hated the whole "humans finding out about Digimon" part. Better to let the Digimon speak right away. Hopefully these two humans could get past the whole "OMGs these animals are talking!?!?" part quickly enough. Then she could decide where to go from there. Maybe the humans were there for a reason, otherwise she'd have to break their phones before they could do any recording, maybe knock them out cold so they thought it was all a dream. Well... that would be a pain. But she'd probably slap their phones of of their hands if they started taking pics or something.

Perspective was probably not the correct word to utilize for right now. But, Miyako had been wanting to venture out and explore Shibuya proper for a long while now, now that she had figured out that the sun was, in fact, able to be warded off with enough preparation. While sure, it was really hazardous being an 11 year old with unrestricted access to the great, suburban and very urban outdoors...
Who gave a flying fuck about that when you had a shittalking lizard that only says Based and Kappypilled half the time in your pocket? Much less HAVING pockets?
Well, not Miyako. Either way, sightseeing would have to come to a quick close given there was a scream from...nearby? The river looked like a landfill as it always did, but she decided to head down quickly to find out what, precisely, was going on. Two...four...six individuals in sight...
Uh.
Two were Digimon. Four humans. "Ah. Uh. What...?" Miyako muttered to herself. See, knowing what the creatures there WERE made this a bit more complicated, and you know what? It was almost as weird as the mikos there. Taking a deep breath, the albino walked over towards the gathering, carefully. "...Is everyone okay? I thought someone was dying or something..."
Miyako had her D1 in hand, just in case.

The last thing that the Agumon and Gabumon were expecting to encounter upon entering the portal were a couple of humans. Not only that, but they looked like one human that was cloned through some means of magic. The two reptilian Digimon stood there as the girls just looked at them, both with an unsure expression. The Gabumon decided to be the first to speak up. "Now, please hear us out-"
Of course that didn't help as both girls would just start screaming right then and there. There they were, just talking about how monsters didn't exist and low and behold, TWO monsters appear out of nowhere! AND they could talk! Once Yua, Subaru and Miyakoi would make it onto the scene, they'd notice something that they probably wouldn't have expected: one of the girls went straight up to the monsters, specifically up to the Agumon.
"Oh my gosh, you're so cuuuuuuuuuute!" Kaori squealed as she placed her hands on the Agumon's face, like one would then they're face-petting a cat. Kaori's scream wasn't of fear after all; it was of delight!
"H-H-Hey, get your hands off'a me," the Agumon would demand with a light blush on his face.
"Well this was an unexpected turn of events," the Gabumon said with a sigh as he sweatdropped.
The other twin, Saori, was definitely afraid still. While Kaori was actually going up to the two Digimon and being friendly, Saori was staggering back, not believing what her eyes were seeing and completely rethinking her life. Kaori was right all along! Monsters existed! Actual, living, breathing, talking monsters that came from magic portals! MAGIC EXISTED! It was all so much for her to comprehend that she actually lost her footing and slumped down to a sitting position, resting against the railing of the bridge.
There were two girls that had arrived first, both dressed like shrine maidens for some reason. The green one asked the girls if they were alright. "D-Define 'alright...'" Saori responded in a quiet voice. Kaori was too busy to listen to the question.
Then that same green girl asked the Digimon what they were doing here. "I swear we didn't mean to come here. I'm Frost, and that's my brother Flame. We were trying to escape from a Fangmon that wanted to eat us when this portal just appeared in front of us."
"Can you blame us for choosing the not death option?" Flame asked while Kaori was still cooing over the little dinosaur.

Despite deciding to live in the human world, Yua didn't truly think she'd be able to understand humans on a personal level. She looked over towards the two identical looking girls, as one proceeded to nearly glomp one of the lizards while the other one gave what was expected of a normal response.
And then another human showed up, a Digivice in hand. But it was also just a human child. And to Yua's knowledge, those happened to be about as dumb as Digimon children. Which meant that even though someone else had come long, it would still be best for Yua to explain things.
She listened in to the the Gabumon, Frost, explain his story. Just a couple of chumps running away from a larger Digimon. One of the reasons Yua left the Digital World, honestly. Couldn't stand the fact that it was almost a normal thing. "I see. Can't really blame you for that. Well, maybe you ca..." Well, maybe she should address something else first. She patted the excited human on the shoulder. "Hey, girl. That Agumon isn't an animal. Ask for permission before you start groping him all of a sudden. It's just common courtesy. And generally a good rule-of-thumb with any Digimon. His name's probably Flame for a reason."
Meanwhile, Subaru, eyes still glued to her old gaming console, slumped down besides the more normal of the twins. But she had a shit-eating grin on her face as she said, "Better get used to it! 'Cause once you see one of these monsters, you're gonna start seeing a bunch more all the time! Plus every important person you meet from here on out is gonna be involved with these monsters, too! So I hope you start liking this kinda stuff from now on! 'Cause if you don't, your life's totally gonna start sucking so b- Ah!" Her face went from a mocking grin to a horrified grimace as she showed the girl a blank screen, her eyes tearing up. "...the batteries died...!" Truly, a tragedy.
Anyways, it was clear that Subaru wasn't any good at this kind of stuff. At least not without insulting someone mother, or something. And Yua was probably gonna get impatient, real fast. Was there anything else the actual human with experience could say to help?

That was, while an unfortunate story, a disturbingly common occurrence in the Digital World--something that genuinely vexed Miyako. If only there were some amount of...unity, of consolidation to prevent creatures like that from running about and preying upon the weak. Then an already interesting place would be remarkably safer. "...While yes, they're adorable, they're still...sapient. They're as smart as you or me. So please respect their personal space..."
That was very likely a request made in vain. People don't listen to 11 year olds. Much less spooky-looking ones like her. Miyako nodded to Green, before looking to the gamer, Blue. Her whole spiel was cut short by the death of her handheld, so she had a chance to interject here! Based! As Mantis would probably say--he was oddly...quiet right now.
"While I would hope it's not as extreme as the blue girl says--the mere fact you even saw Flame and Frost means you're likely going to run into more. Would you believe me if I told you my computer isekai'd me into their world once? Because it happened--then I had to take a train to get home. That's a whole explanation that I don't wanna get into--it's boring and complicated and you're better off hearing it from Ms. Green Miko, I think."
What else...
"Oh, if you find anything that resembles...this..." She fished out her D1! "Then keep it handy, it'll be important."

Kaori had momentarily tuned everything out of her life at that moment; all that mattered was the cute little yellow dinosaur in front of her and how much she wanted to love it and care for it and feed it until it was strong. While Flame did not mind being social, and actually loved talking to others or just talking in general, this girl was going a bit too far. It wasn't until the green haired lady stepped in, saying that giving a Digimon unwanted touching was not ideal.
"Wh-wha-?" Kaori said as she blinked, her mind suddenly becoming right again as she realized what she was doing. She immediately let go of Flame. "S-S-Sorry about that! I, uh, tend to zone out sometimes when I'm doing something I like or see a really cute guy or critter like yourself... or a Digimon, in your case, right?"
"Heh, well at least you truly notice how good-lookin' I am," Flame said, doing a hair flip motion despite not having any hair. "Just warn me before you do that again. Thanks for the save, Digimon girl!"
"Wwwwait, she's a... a Digimon?" Kaori asked, completely confused. Aside from the green hair, she looked just as human as the twins, the little girl and the blue haired girl she was with. "I'm confused..."
Speaking of the blue haired girl, she slumped down next to Saori to give her some more advice. Well, less advice, and more of a warning. She said that once she's seen a Digimon, more and more of them were going to appear in her life, like some kinda digital curse. The way she was saying this stuff was honestly scaring Saori, and she only stopped her spiel when her game console's batteries died. The little girl's comments didn't help much either. The moment she looked back to show Saori her D-1, the twin had already gotten up and left, and could be seen hurryingly walking to the other side of the bridge with her arms crossed.
"Saori, wait!" Kaori called out to her sister as she tried to catch up with her. "We gotta hear them all out fir-"
"There is nothing to hear out," Saori coldly responded. "I'll bite my tongue and say you were right the whole time. But I can't get involved in whatever insanity is going on here. I want a normal life, Kaori. You might think it's boring, but I think it's safe and secure. There's no room for... for Digimon, in it."
"Saori, you're not even giving them a chance. I think you'd adore the cute wolf one. Besides, you heard those girls, we don't have a choice in this."
"There's always a choice in life. And I choose to forget this whole thing ever happened."
"I think our arrival has just made things worse..." Frost said as he looked sadly towards the ground, prompting Flame to pat his brother on the back for reassurance...

Yua was more than a little irritated that the Agumon just up and bloody outed her like that, but she supposed he was still a kid, too. And it wasn't like every Digimon knew the basic protocols for being in the human world. So when hearing Kaori's sudden exclamation in response she just shrugged and said, "Don't know what to say. Digital World makeup is leagues beyond this world's." That wasn't quite the complete story. But explaining otherwordly technology was another thing. And so was explaining the fact that you based your human appearance off of some billboards that you happened to catch a glimpse of the first time you accidentally made your way into the human world was a whole other story, as well.
But she looked over to the less-enthusiastic human girl, and frowned for a bit. She supposed her reaction was rather normal, and neither her nor the tamer girl's words seemed to make it through. And it didn't help that Subaru likely didn't help in that regard either. Maybe she should unplug their internet for a day or two. Still, a complete denial might be a little more troublesome than the girl realized.
It wasn't really her preference, but Yua decided to be a bit more bold. She practically glided over towards the twins in no time at all, just a little more than an arm's reach away. "If I may interject..." She interjected. "I have an offer for you. As well as everyone else here. In this world, I'm Shinonome Yua, and over there is my twin sister, Subaru."
"We're fraternal!" She hollered over helpfully, as if on cue.
"We understand that this is all a bit much, but as someone who tries to live a quiet, peaceful life on this side, I can say for certain that ignorance is most certainly not bliss. At least not in this situation.
"We own a small shrine not too far from here. We don't have much to offer but some light snacks and some tea, but at the very least, it's a much better-smelling place than this landfill,"
Yua went for a small, gentle smile as she continued, about the best her face could do without twitching uncomfortably. It wasn't something she did often, but she could pull one off if she needed to. "I'm not going to convince you to jump into another world that you're not comfortable with, but regardless, whether this is something you'd like to learn more about..." She looked over towards the far more enthusiastic Kaori, then over towards her less enthusiastic and far more sane sister. "Or if it's something you would rather avoid for your own safety and sanity, it would be best to fill you in. Information itself is never harmful. Even if you want nothing further to do with these creatures, at the very least, you'll know what to look out for so you can avoid it."
Meanwhile, Subaru decided to make a last-ditch effort. It wasn't likely, considering the circumstances, but she had to find out for herself. She turned over towards Miyako, Flame, and Frost. "So... I know this is kind of a long shot, but I don't suppose any of you would have..." She looked inside her device. "...four AA batteries on you, would you?"

While Miyako was pretty surprised at the fact that the Miko were apparently Digimon, that soon turned to a fair amount of irritation. Not at them, mind you, but the Agumon. "Hey, just because someone's not going around telling everyone 'hey I'm a Digimon' in disguise doesn't mean you get to do that. It's called not being cringe, or as most people would actually refer to it, common decency."
Hm. That may have been a little mean. What were they going to do about it, though? She did also notice that one of the girls had decided to practically START LEAVING when she had shown them her D1.
Hah!
Their loss, fuckers! Though, she really SHOULD introduce herself, right? "My name's Miyako, it's very nice to meet you all despite everything. And...Yeah, I'd really rather not be at the river for long." It was at least a little filthy.
The albino stared at Subaru for about five seconds, before she wordlessly reached into her bag--the place her D1 came from, and yoinked out a pack of AA batteries, offering them to Subaru. "I thought the digivice needed them but apparently it doesn't have any battery compartments. So. You can have them."
For whatever it was worth, she did hope someone aside from her took the Miko girls on their offer. Having a perspective on Digital affairs that wasn't Mantis did seem like an educational opportunity...
"...Why are you blaming yourself for something that's really just how someone seems to be?" She asked of the Gabumon.

Flame was confused... why was everyone upset that he had called the green-haired girl a Digimon? Sure she looked more like a human than a Digimon, but she still had that Digimon scent, and it wasn't like there weren't already Digimon here. "Huh? It isn't like Digimon are really a secret to anyone right here anymore, right? I don't get why you all look so mad."
"You also don't understand the concept of manners," Frost said to his brother, the Gabumon's hands resting on his hips.
Digital World makeup? "That must be some good makeup then..." Kaori said, still not fully believing that she was being told the truth on this topic. There was no way simple makeup could make a Digimon look like a human... was there? Could Kaori's own makeup make Flame look human? She'd have to remember to ask him later to find out!
Well, she would if Saori wasn't already trying to walk away from all this awesomeness craziness. Kaori tried to stop her, to no avail, but thankfully she did stop when the green haired woman, named Yua, said she had an offer. Both Kaori and Saori turned around to face her. She claimed that trying to hide from this matter would not be beneficial to anyone. She offered Kaori, Saori and anyone else there a chance to visit and learn more about the Digital World, if only to keep Saori safe from it than anything else. Saori looked to her sister, who was nodding greatly at the idea. "Come on, Saori, give it a chance... you can't tell me you don't feel anything towards Flost and Frame here."
"We just met them like two minu- wait, Flost and Frame?" Saori asked as she did a double take. "It's amazing how dumb you can be sometimes." Still... Saori couldn't deny that she was kinda starting to find the yellow lizard in the wolf pelt pretty cute... "Alright, Yua. We'll go with you. But no promises about being... partnered or getting one of those weird devices like that girl has."
"Yay!" Kaori cheered as she hugged her sister. "Kaori and Saori, professional Digimon Tamers!"
"Tamers? That makes it sound like we keep them as pets..."
"Yeah, you're right... well, I'll come up with a better term later! Frome, Flast, are you coming with us?"
"Well we don't have anywhere else to go, but sure!"
"And it's Flame and Frost, our names are not that hard to remember."

Subaru looked up to Miya as if she were offering her water in a scalding hot desert. Her eyes sparkled as she clasped her hand. "You're like... the nicest person ever!" She exclaimed. "Hey, nevermind all these other losers, you should visit our shrine! I've got like every console ever emulated so we can play just about any game you want or if you're not good at games you can just watch me play games while we hang out and stuff!" She was talking at a gajillion words a minute at this point.
"I better not be one of those 'losers' you mentioned..." Yua muttered, her eye twitching in anger for a brief moment before dismissing her sister's overall nasty attitude. Family's family, after all. Instead, she directed her attention to the other twins around. "Just ignore her. This guy isn't the only one who lacks manners around here," She directed a quick, but clearly spiteful glance to the Agumon before directing her attention towards the sisters. Saori seemed to relent to Yua's request. Which made things easier. She resisted her urge to let out a long, exasperated sigh.
...Why did she have to be nearby while all this went down? Welp, nothing that could be done now. She was here. "Very well, then follow me. Hardly anyone comes by these parts, but please refrain from standing out, just in case," The disguised fox-woman with deep green hair and dressed like something between a generic magical girl and shrine maiden declared to the two lizard foreigners.
Yua would lead them away from the river, towards a small shrine up a set of stairs that had no business being as long as they were. "Obviously, we're not actually shrine maidens," She explained as they traveled. "The caretaker's an elderly man whose knees are too weak to make the climb anymore. So I keep things clean and keep it from being some delinquent group's hangout spot, and he lets us live out of here, no questions asked."
Once they got to the top of the stairs, they made their way through a large red gate, a paved cobblestone path leading them towards a small, empty offertory box with a decent-sized wooden shack behind it. Yua slid open a rickety-looking door, struggling a little before eventually forcing it open with a heavy pull, before gesturing the group inside.
It was a quaint space, divided into two halves. And it was obvious which sister resided on which half. One was an entire wall of gadgets, monitors, and all kinds of electronic knick-knacks. Where such a tiny shrine had access to the internet and this much electricity was a question better left unasked. Empty soda bottles and bags of chips were strewn about the floor, surrounding a rumpled up futon.
And the other half was disturbingly sparse. A folded up futon tucked neatly into a corner, and a short-legged table with what looked to be various documents neatly piled up. Yua moved over to scoop up the papers, tucking them into a manila folder placing it off to the side. She moved over to a closet, pulled out some cushions and placed them around the table.
"I've got water, tea, coffee, and..." She took another glance to the two teenage girls and the preteen child. "...and that's all. Would you like anything to drink?"
"Coffee for me!" Subaru put her hand up excitedly.
"No." An immediate response. Subaru stuck her tongue out at her sister, while Yua promptly ignored her. "I'm making myself some tea. If any of you have any questions, feel free to ask them while I prepare."

"They are absolutely still a secret here. You would do well not to go out of your way to disturb that and cause other people trouble. Heed your brother's words, ember." A horrific dirge of a voice that really sounded more akin to a text-to-speech generator put through a light hint of static sounded from Miyako's digivice.
Of course, Miyako didn't really pay much heed to the girls as Subaru started to go at a mile a second with how much she was talking. She caught about half of it and was able to at least construe what she was saying--wait, did she just get invited over to someone's abode? Holy shit nobody ever invited her anywhere period! That sleepover didn't count given it was so impromptu but Miyako's eyes seemed to light up like a Christmas tree...!
"Well, um, I do try my best! Plus you seemed really sad when your handheld died so I figured I'd try being helpful for once and stuff....So sure, I'll give it a try!" This was probably a horrible idea but Subaru was being nice to her, so it'd be really mean to just turn that down...
As the group departed to the shrine, Miyako couldn't really help but stare at everything as they entered. It was...a place she had never been to before. It seemed important, preserved...A lot of things. "That's really based of you." She stated towards Yua. What the fuck is wrong with you? Why would you just say that to someone, you dumbass 11 year old prick?
Miyako immediately guessed that the place with all the gadgets was Subaru's, while the other half was Yua's. "Could I have some coffee?" ...Was she going to share with Subaru? Maybe. As Yua was setting the table with cushions to sit at, Miyako's digivice glowed (she had put it back into her pocket on the walk here), before a bolt of light shot out, revealing the owner of the voice from earlier.
"I've one, how long have you been here upon this earth. Also, greetings. I am Praying Mantis, the cosmically assigned partner and guardian of one Isa Miyako. It is an honor." A bow.

"Huh? Who said that?" Flame asked when Mantis had spoken from Miyako's Digivice. "And Ember isn't my name! It's Flame!"
Yua told the twins to simply ignore Subaru, who had just called the group a bunch of losers. "I think she's doing a better job of ignoring us than we are of ignoring her," Saori commented as she glanced over at the blue-haired twin. "She kinda reminds me of Kaori, if she played video games."
"Hey, at least I don't go around calling people losers," Kaori responded with a huff. So according to Flame, who had just blurted it out, Yua was a Digimon. Was Subaru also a Digimon? Why did they look like humans but Flame and Frost were little lizards? None of it was adding up for Saori... maybe an explanation at the shrine would help clear some things up.
While the girls and their... well, almost partners were following Yua to her shrine, Yua admitted that they were not actually shrine maidens. The caretaker was elderly so they simply help keep things clean in exchange for living there. "That sounds like a fair deal to me," Frost commented.
"Not to me. Who'd wanna spend that much time cleaning every day?"
"Someone who is concerned about their hygiene and living environment mostly, Flame. Not that I expect you to understand, of course."
"You guys go at it more than we do," Kaori said as she sweatdropped. It really made her consider trying to mend her relationship with her own sister, as just hearing the two lizards argue like this was already becoming irritating. They would follow Yua up the stairs, past the red gate and up to a decently sized wooden shack.
It was pretty telling which sister took up which half of the shack just from looking at it. Yua's side was more traditional, neat and organized. Subaru's was electronic central, with soda cans and chip bags all over the floor. The sisters held each other's hand as they looked at Subaru's side of the shack, making extra sure to stay on Yua's side. It was really all the trash on the floor that was the deal breaker for them. "So messy..." Both sisters would whisper with expressions of disgust.
"What a mess," Frost scoffed as he picked up an empty soda can. "Are these empty containers for some sort of beverage? Is there not a waste disposal anywhere here?"
"Pile up enough of 'em along with these bags and you'll have a pretty fun pile to play in," Flame suggested.
Yua offered either water, tea, or coffee to their houseguests. "No, I-I think we're good," Saori said, with Kaori nodding up and down in agreement.
"Some water would be nice." "What's a coffee? I wanna try that, please!"
Yua would then start making herself some tea, saying that now was a good time to ask any questions. Suddenly a light would come from Miyako's Digivice, another lizard Digimon named Mantis, only this time he seemed to be wearing a kendo uniform, and his voice resembled that of text to speech programs. Kaori immediately knelt down in front of the purple dinosaur Digimon. "Another cute lizard Digimon! And he looks like a little kiddo going to kendo practice, his sleeves are too big for him and everything!"
"So they can turn into balls of light and fit inside little tamagotchi's now," Saori said in a deadpan tone. "Because everything else about today was just so darn normal." She turned her attention towards Yua. "Please explain everything to me. What are Digimon, and is the Digital World what it really sounds like? A world made of ones and zeroes? I just want to NOT be confused by what is happening right now."

With everyone piling in, their space got to be a more than a little crowded. Yua wasn't too fond of crowds, personally. Hopefully she wouldn't have to deal with anything of the sort long-term. It would be a shame if she were a part of a class that relied on its numbers. They came in, (rightfully) criticizing Subaru's messy lifestyle, most of them taking care to put themselves in Yua's area. "I'll clean later... Too busy..." Subaru muttered in a tone that suggested she said this quite often, mindlessly leaning onto the table with her arms extended, still playing away at the old-school handheld. "Old game. No save feature. Have to beat it..." And to make matters even more crowded, the little girl, Miyako's partner, Mantis made his presence in full as well. Hmm... Did Yua even have enough glasses? Well... While the tea was getting made, Yua poured a few glasses of water, setting them in place for Frost, as well as Kaori, Saori, and Mantis, despite some of their refusal. Polite was polite, after all. Mantis had asked how long they'd been here. "We've been living here quietly for a few years now. We get by doing odd jobs to our specialty, and occasionally helping the stray Digimon that winds up here, or aiding the ones that want to wind up here. Providing credentials, identification, and such. Shibuya's a crowded place, so a new face showing up out of the blue isn't surprising." "We don't make fake ID's for humans, though, so don't ask..." Subaru piped up. Kaori fawned over Mantis for a bit, and Saori asked possibly the most general questions someone could possibly ask. Well... not that Yua could blame her. But it was gonna be a long conversation, wasn't it? "Some Digivices, those things that humans who've partnered with a Digimon have, can store their Digimon inside of them for the sake of travel. And there are other technologies that help Digimon disguise themselves to fit in the human world, like what I'm using right now..." She reached for hairpiece that was shaped like a frog's head, pressed down on one of its eyes, and her form suddenly shimmered to a humanoid fox creature that would probably be pretty popular on the internet if they were more widely known. Nowadays, her Digimon felt kind of uncomfortable for her to move around in, though. In her holosuit, she didn't have to worry about her fur always becoming a mess and shedding everywhere, and having smaller, more nimble fingers helped with the more delicate work she preferred to do. Not to mention, her Renamon form had much sharper senses, and having a hangover in that state was... It wasn't a good time. "And as for just being 1's and 0's... I guess that's accurate, but at the same time, it would be like comparing you to that glass of water in front of you. Just because your body's mostly made up of something doesn't mean that it's that simple. A lot like your world's made up of molecules made up from atoms, our homeworld is made up of data. A common misconception humans have of Digimon is that we're nothing more than a computer program of the sort, while in reality while that couldn't be further from the truth. We're sentient, intelligent beings that take all sorts of shapes and sizes. Some Digimon are lizards, others are more akin to mammals and insects, others are walking, talking plants and machines. We have dinosaurs, dragons, and everything in between." Yua was about to continue, but whistling from a tea kettle cut her off. She moved away to prepare the remaining drinks. Coffee for Miyako and Flame, and some tea for Subaru and herself. Though Subaru's tea was poured into a dog bowl. Yua only had the seven glasses, but her sister didn't seem to mind. In fact, Subaru just grunted in gratitude, and the dog bowl just started floating in midair as it slowly hovered over to her mouth. The little blue-haired girl turned her head ever-so-slightly and blew into her bowl to cool it off. "But despite the various forms a Digimon can take, we're not too far off from you humans. Some might be considered a little more eccentric than others, and many Digimon can be a little prone to... taking aggressive stances... but at the end of the day, we all just want to be happy and-" As she was speaking, Yua had finished up serving the others, and finally moved to kneel down and take her seat. Only an obnoxiously loud farting sound erupted from underneath her cushion, deafening anything else Yua was going to say. She reached underneath to grab hold of a flattened whoopie-cushion. There was a long pause before a tiny voice began to start chuckling from Subaru's side of the room. Hiding in a pile of Subaru's trash was a pink rabbit-like creature, with a long pink scarf, a pair of headphones, and tiny red boots. However, her laughter ended when she met Yua's murderous stare. " You have exactly three seconds to leave, or else you're going to be far more intimately familiar with this little toy of yours than you'll ever prefer." She stated in a cold, possibly homicidal tone, holding up the Cutemon's little toy. "Eh... um... run away...!" She cried out in a soft voice, giving a polite bow before scrambling out of the little residence to continue living a long and healthy life. Afterwards, Yua let out a long sigh to cool herself off, then reactivated her holosuit before continuing the conversation. "And there are some Digimon that want to do little more than commit childish pranks. So long as you teach them a lesson every now and then, they're ultimately harmless." "And others get really scary and vicious when they're put in a bad mood..." Subaru added helpfully, taking a sip of tea and immediately burning her tongue. "Hot...!"

For the most part, Miyako was happy to just exist and vibe in the background for now--Mantis was the center of attention for a few people by now so it just went to show that sometimes a partner had to take center stage for a post or two.
"I'm probably older than you. Patronize me at your own risk." Mantis spoke towards the twin girls--they likely were the people who had just learned about Digimon to an extent, something confirmed by the questions being asked. Yep. Returning his attention to Yua, a careful nod was given.
"...That's pretty much how my past life started out. You seem to have acclimated pretty well to here, so you've got that going for you, I'd think." There wasn't really much he had to share, given drinks were getting passed out. The moment Miyako got her coffee, she offered some to Subaru.
Oh no.
Both the Digimon and the girl looked to the whoppee cushion, and stared. "Wait, those are real?" Miyako murmured aloud, before looking to that Cutemon. "...Well, that wasn't very nice of them." She seemed as if she was about to take off after them, before Mantis just raised a hand. "Don't. To fuck around is human, to find out is divine."
"What does that mean?" "You will find out when you're older. Otherwise, yeah. Some are just in the mindset of kids." Mantis continued. "They grow out of it, usually."
