The Calling Card (Grandmaster)
|
Post by Speed & Psych on Aug 28, 2021 4:05:33 GMT
It all started with that one signal.
Johan Walker remembered his first encounter with the Grandmaster vividly. The anonymous man had somehow found a way to create a Digital Shift, only to use it as a distraction so that he could covertly get the information of anyone in the Shibuya school system that had connections to Digimon. None of this made sense to Johan, the reasons why he needed that info and just how the guy didn't get caught. How was he doing all of this? Then there was that incident with Luneth involving the Grandmaster... but nothing since then. At least, not until now.
Johan was quick to discover peculiar digital signatures coming from an abandoned building in the Entertainment District, but they were just as quick to simply vanish. A lapse in judgement? Maybe. All Johan knew was that he had to get some help to investigate this before it was too late. The poor kid had a bad feeling in his gut about all this...
Thus, he recruited his covert team, conveniently neglecting to mention any of this to Sophie or Lantis, in fear that they would shut all of this down. Speed and Psych signed up right away, as well as AEGIS' spirit user Stacy Miller. They all mentioned a human and Digimon pair named Zack and Marigold that could probably help with this situation, so Johan sent a message to him through Tamernet, who remarkably agreed to join!
They were all told to meet outside the abandoned building at midnight. Speed and Psych were naturally already there, waiting for everyone else. The building itself was not very tall, only four floors. It had a couple broken windows but that was basically it. Once everyone was there, they'd get a voice transmission from Johan himself.
"First of all, thank you all for coming. It means a lot that you're willing to potentially risk your lives for this. The plan is simple; you gotta find a way in and investigate this building. There was a Digital signature here earlier today for five seconds before it vanished completely. If I'm right, this building is connected to something sinister that I've been following. Please let me know anything odd you might find in there."
And with that, it was up to the team to proceed with how they wanted to do things...

It was midnight. A time she felt comfortable with because of her nocturnal nature. Even before becoming a spirit wielder she preferred being up at night most. Currently she was running down the streets in the form of a snow white holy digimon called Hinookamimon as she made her way to an abandoned building after recieving a message from Johan. Upon catching sight of the building she returned to her human form and continued on soon spotting Speed and Psych as well as Zack and Marigold.
She approached politely waving hello to the assembled group. Then Johan's voice was heard and it seemed there was something pertaining to the Digital World involving the very building they were near. Sure the building itself was only four floors but that didn't mean nothing dangerous was lurking as various threats from the Digital World could fit into the building with room to spare. "I've come to learn odd and the Digital World tend to go hand and hand. Perhaps we could enter from different floors." Stacy said knowing she could easily climb into the two upper floors if she had too by digivolving into either of her champion forms of Blitzwolfmon or Nanamimon.

Zack and Marigold were very nonchalant about their accepting of the message. Someone was asking them for help and that was all they need to know. They asked for directions and the address of wear to meet up and gave Johan a warning that Speed, Psych and Stacy had probably already given him about how Zack would show up in his "work clothes" The group would hear one of the rusted windows along the high eve of the wall push open, a gold patterned figure in a distinctive helm leaping in, making some acrobatic steps down from the pile of boxes and crates that gave him access to the floor. Marigold buzzed in behind him, her crimson scarf snapping in the wind.
"Stacy." The Digi Rider ducked his head in great, holding out his hand to shake. He then, seemingly having totally forgotten the less than warm introduction that Speed and Psych had made with him, walking up to them and offering his hand in turn. "Speed. Psych. It's good to know that we've got a trio like this backing us up, marigold." he said, looking up at the twins was a kind jaunt in his voice. "I want you to know that, whatever was said last time we met, I recognize that we're on the same side. If someone's going to get hurt, then I trust you both implicitly to watch my back, I only hope that you can trust me to watch yours." he said, making a surprisingly honest attempt to bury the hatchet before listening intently to the message. Zack crossed his arms, Marigold buzzing just above his right shoulder, making waving motions at the trio, being especially enthusiastic in her silent greeting to Stacy. Zack was one of the first to pipe up.
"Alright folks, you know what me and Marigold are good for. You three are the law enforcement here. Where does the investigation start and how can we help?" he said, laying the baton of command at the feet of the three far more qualified investigators, Marigold nodding along sharply with his sentiment.
"Turn us around, point us in the right direction and tell us to go. Until whatever this is is put to bed, consider us the distraction, the scapegoat and the pack mule." She said, fully laying out Zack and Marigold's assessment of being as helpful as possible. if it needed doing, they would do it.

Johan had a few words for each of the members of the party before they entered. First, for Stacy. "Thank you for coming on such short notice, Stacy. Your skills will be very useful for this mission. I would appreciate it if word of this didn't get to the other members of AEGIS, alright? And you're right, you and Psych will go up to the other levels while the others search the ground floor."
For Zack and Marigold. "Zack, Speed and Psych have told me some... interesting things about you. Opinions aside, I believe you do have purpose for a situation like this. There is an individual of interest related to this mission, he dresses up like some form of... supervillain. I feel you may have some experience dealing with others like him."
For Speed and Psych. "Be nice to Zack."
The Speedramon huffed and crossed his arms at that statement. Be nice? To THAT idiot? Whatever. He won't antagonize the guy but he definitely isn't going to be all buddy-buddy with him. Psych would speak to Zack specifically through telekinesis. Do not mind my brother, Zack. He tends to be more emotionally affected from things than I. He won't be mad at you forever, so long as you do not cause a repeat of our last meeting.
Now the group will have to make their way in. Psych would float up to the second floor, entering through a window that had been completely shattered. There would be a window similar to that on the third floor for Stacy to climb through. The ones on the ground floor would have to shatter a window to enter that way, though that could make a lot of noise.
"Maybe the front door is unlocked," Speed said, walking up to the front door and attempting to turn the knob. "...or they could be smart and lock the door so intruders like us don't get in."
"You can always literally break in," said Zero's voice from the golf ball shaped drone floating nearby the group.
"Oh wait, idea!" Speed cheered. His body started to visibly vibrate before he... walked right through the door. A few moments later, the drake opened up the door for his comrades on the other side. "Ta-da!"
For each group, the floors would be the same. Run down, dirty, rotting hallways with a certain amount of equally run down, dirty, rotting rooms. Looking around for anything specific would end up finding mostly dirty piles of junk, gross puddles and loose wires. Only Zack and Marigold would find something truly interesting... on the first floor, they would notice a couple of creases in the wall. As if... it was meant to be open up to reveal something... but how would they open it in the first place?

Johan told everyone where they would go and mentioned that who they were up against seemed to like to dress like a supervillian. Her only response to that was "Sounds like a guy like that would fit in well in an eighties superhero cartoon judging by what you said, Johan, but don't worry I'll be on alert." As for Speed he seemed not to pleased about working with Zack making her curious what Zack had done but figured now was not the time for such things since there was work to be done.
Seeing Psych use his telekinesis to float up to the second floor meant the third floor was hers. Bringing out her D-Tector before fractal coding appeared in her right hand. She then ran her right hand over the top of the digivice in her left hand before she said "Execute! Human Spirit Evolution!" Since this required stealth her transformation was not nearly as noticeable as it usually was and no wolf howl sounded either. The soft glow of holy energy ceased revealing the champion form of her holy line. "Blitzwolfmon!"
Blitzwolfmon looked up toward the broken window on the third floor her tail wagging before the armor wearing humanoid trotted up to the building before using the claws on her hands and feet climbing swiftly and efficiently like Spiderman. Sure some would not expect a humaniod in red wolf themed armor to be such a good climber but she was not one to complain seeing it was a beneficial trait.
The whole in the window was small but not to small for her petite form to fit through and once she got inside she caught a foul scent and judging by how messy the floor appeared to be it wasn't shocking but that doesn't mean it was less unpleasant. A canine's sense of smell was being a double edged sword right now but she could still power through. Walking through the floor with a disgusted look on her face she moved cautiously and silently as if stalking potential prey. Since she didn't know what lurked in the halls she was making sure she was ready for anything.

Marigold lowered herself softly to the floor. With a place as run down as this it was hard to tell how thin the walls had gotten and her constant buzzing just to keep herself in the air might give them away at a critical moment. he did watch Speed buzz himself through the door, a classic speedster move that Zack would do his best to pretend didn't already impress the hell out of him, though he did let out an approving "huh" and a nod as he watched Stacy shimmy up the wall toward the opening on the third floor.
"Psych?" Zack said, inquisitively in his head. He wanted to establish a baseline before they all started wandering. "Keeping us in psychic contact is an invaluable advantage, there's a reason the Martian Manhunter has been on every JLA lineup at the center of the team. You're our lifeline of communication if everything goes belly up. Speed, you have the most utility out of any of us, if things go wrong, you should be the spackle, running the the leaks and helping them get plugged. Stacy seems to be a one woman army in her own right, she goes over the top, we support her play. Marigold and I are the loud, impossible to ignore riot. We should be considered last priority if trouble starts, accomplish the important things first, then bail me out if you can." He said, tilting his head as he approached the lines in the wall, running the gloved material of his fingers along the seam. he would shove it with one hand in a few directions, trying to discern from the way it rattled if it was meant to swing outward, inward, slide into the wall, or up or down into the floor or ceiling.
He was trying to be all business, showing the more professional law enforcement that he wasn't totally blind to the tactical advantages and disadvantages in play. He was the bruiser, the brawler. If they were the JLA, he would be lucky to be The Question. That meant that his over the top, shouty attitude and the sheer gall he would inspire in a powerful digimon for a mere human standing up to him were the best shots he head into forcing a critical miscalculation. He would run with that, no matter the consequences.

"Forget everything you know about telly villains, Stacy," Johan said to Stacy. "This man is nothing like them, he is ruthless. He attempted to have me and my friends killed. The only reason we were able to get out of that alive is with Zero's help. That's not all though. My friend's partner Shoutmon's son Luneth was almost murdered by him. I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE HIM."
"Yeesh, you're really obsessed with this guy, aren't you?" Speed responded, rolling his eyes a bit.
"You would be too, if you've seen what I've seen."
Before they all got to work, Zack had some words for Speed and Psych. He requested the latter to keep them all in a psychic contact connection much like what the superhero Martian Manhunter did for the JLA. I do not know who Martian Manhunter is or what the JLA is, but I understand. I shall set up a telepathy communication network between the five of us.
And with Speed, Zack claimed that he had the most utility, using a metaphor with spackles and walls to basically say to protect the others. "One question: what's a spackle?"
And cease with the speak of leaving you behind. No matter what happens, we will all make it out alive, no need for abandonment.
With Psych taking the second floor, Stacy would spirit evolve to Blitzwolfmon and climb up to the third floor a lot like a certain spider superhero, climbing in through a small broken window. The floor would've been pretty soggy, clearly some kind of water main broke at some point. A bit of mold could be seen growing on the walls as well. For someone with a keen sense of smell like Stacy, this would've smelled unbearably bad.
With her careful and cautious observations, something would catch onto Stacy's eye as well. A very similar wall crease, a lot like the one Zack and Marigold had spotted just moments ago. Could this be a connection of some kind?
And with Zack himself, he noticed the crease and was now moving it in all sorts of directions to try to get it to open in some way. Unfortunately no matter how much he tried, the damn thing just simply was not budging. Speed watched as Zack continued to do his thing, his arms crossed and his foot tapping. "Gah, let me do it," the Speedramon groaned, digging his own claws into the crease and attempting to open it as well.
...and Speed was having even less luck than Zack did in that department. In fact, Speed tried pulling so hard that his gauntlets slipped right off, causing the Speedramon to fall over backwards in the process. "Ew ew ew, I'm on the gross floor," Speed complained as he picked himself up.
"As funny as it is to watch you all fail like this, I should probably tell you that after scanning the wall, this is definitely a hidden door, though it seems that it has to be opened via electricity," Zero said to Speed, Zack and Marigold through the drone. "Maybe you should try, oh I dunno, looking for a button of some kind? The button might be in a place you least expect."
"And where are we supposed to find that?" Speed asked, resting his hand on the wall. That hand would promptly rip right through the damp wallpaper, revealing some sort of... hole, leading downward through the floor. Were you supposed to drop something in there for the wall to open up? It almost looked like you had to... pour some form of liquid in. "Well, this is new."
I believe I have found something peculiar, Psych told the group via telepathy. I found a vial of some form of substance in the middle of the hallway. It looks like as if it fell out of someone's bag. Its appearance is... not like anything I've ever seen before.

"Sounds like some folks I've come across if he isn't against cruelty and murder to meet his ends. Don't worry though, Johan, I'll be careful not to underestimate him." Stacy said in response to Johan's warning. Psych set up a telepathic link which made communication between the group much easier making her glad they had a telepath around for this job.
Now, as Blitzwolfmon, she was making her way around the third floor. The floor was wet and squished at the sound of her armored boots as the claws on her feet cut deeper in than. Looking around she also observed the mold while trying to ignore the dreadful smell though it wasn't an easy task. Then a wall crease caught her attention and she made her way towards it before carefully reaching her right hand into it and giving a tug. Nothing happened. Resting her left hand on the wall near the hole her claws sinking through the wallpaper revealing a hole. Curious of the new development Blitzwolfmon pulled her right hand out of the crease and took a better look at the hole. The hole looked like something had to be poured in it. "Clever devil this guy is if puzzles are what he has up his sleeve." Blitzwolfmon muttered as she looked around.
Then Psych's message came through regarding a vial in the hallway and, hoping the link went both ways, thought 'Perhaps there is a vial on each of the floors.' Blitzwolfmon then decided to peak into the hallway looking for a vial herself.

"I'm not stupid, Psych.." He said into the psychic web that the group was now sharing. "If shit hits the fan and its do or die time, the non-powered vigilante becomes real dead weight, real fast. If it comes down between saving me and saving someone else, I'd whip you myself if you chose me." He said, though he offers Speed a hand up off the floor, not even bothering to laugh at the speedster getting hoisted by his own petard for his impatience. Though he nodded with a smile at the sudden blundering into the actual puzzle that was locking the door.
"Is the goo metallic? because the only way I can think of using some sort of mechanism with liquid would be a mercury tilt switch. So, yknow. if it IS mercury, don't lick it." Zack walked over, running the lining of his gloves along the whole that the liquid was meant to pour into, if there was anything left on the spout he would be able to get a closer look. "Speed, do you think you could manage a quick sweep of the floor? It'd be good to know if there's anything out of place. Psych, if we can't locate another vial can you get the vial you found down to us? Opening the first door you find is usually the best way of progress in an escape room...even if I'm going to bet money that this "escape room" has some death traps along the way."
"My Bee-Bee Call attack creates an electric discharge, should I try it against the door or down the whole?" She said, directing the question at the whole group, trying to get feedback for the idea.

You are all about saving lives, are you not? Psych asked Zack in response to his claim about being left behind. So are Speed and myself. When 'do or die' time comes, we won't just simply abandon you because you do not have powers. We're... we're not our parents.
Speed looked up while he was on the ground and saw Zack offering the drake a hand. Speed just glared right at the human as he refused the hand, picking himself back up. He still felt hurt by what Zack had said in their last encounter, and it was going to take a bit longer for that to mend itself. Until then, Speed really did not care to associate with the bee-themed vigilante in any way.
Zack had a good question... was the goo metallic? I'll send you each a mental picture. Suddenly everyone got an image in their heads of the vial. It was tube-like and clear, and the liquid inside was... odd. It was slightly glowing, the color of the liquid being mostly pinkish-violet, but some blotches of neon green floated inside the mixture. It was definitely a metallic form of liquid, though. We're not stupid enough to lick or drink this, Zack. At least I pray we are not.
After he examined it some more, Zack asked Speed to do a quick sweep of the floor. "I already have, right when Psych said he found the vial. There's nothing here, and I don't think the one that my brother has was supposed to be there. A fluke, maybe."
A fluke that can help us. I am coming down to your level. Stacy, you might want to come down here as well. Speed does not believe there is a vial on your floor, if you are searching for one.
As Psych floated down to the ground floor and entered through the door, Marigold asked if she should use her Bee-Bee call attack on the door. Perhaps not on the door, but an attack like that could be useful. Once Stacy would get to the group, Psych would make the vial float over the hole before pouring the whole thing in. It was a powerful smell, a mix of dry-erase markers and rusted metal. Suddenly, the fake wall began to slide open, revealing a short hallway with a white tiled floor and metal walls, a metal elevator located at the end.
"Secret entrance!" Speed quietly cheered.
"That was not what I was expecting in the slightest..." Johan commented as Zero ate popcorn from his chair back at HQ.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Speed asked as he headed up towards the elevator, pressing the button. Upon entering it, if they so desired, the group would find not just four floors... but five? Shrugging, Speed would press the basement button and the elevator doors closed. It would be a few minutes before the doors opened up once again. And once they did, the scenery was much different from the run down building of before. It looked like a cross between a hospital and a laboratory, with a receptionist's desk in the middle of the spacious room. There were couches and chairs like the waiting room of a hospital, and two separate hallways to go down on either side of the receptionist desk.
At least they were signed properly. One hallway had a sign that read places of interest, such as "Cafeteria," "Break Rooms," "Lockers," "Restrooms," and other boring stuff that one would expect. The OTHER hallway, however, had more interesting rooms. "Testing Rooms," "Computer Labs," "Containment Rooms," "Cages," "Arena," and "Virus Development."
"All of this was underneath the run down building?" Dokamon asked.
"Grandmaster is better at keeping secrets than the entire Digimon community," Johan stated.
Again, where was the group going to go now?

Psych sent everyone a mental image of the liquid in the vial he found. Pinkish violet with green blotches? How odd. 'I'm no expert in chemicals but I get the feeling that's not mercury so I think we should be cautious with it. As for it being a fluke it may not be.' Blitzwolfmon said over the link. Maybe she was being paranoid but as far as she was concerned it was better safe than sorry. 'Anyway I'm on my way down and should be there shortly.'
Blitzwolfmon headed back the way she came moving swiftly back to the window she entered in, though no where near as fast as Speed was capable of, climbed out the window to the ground and made her way to the door Speed couldn't open, and channeled a small amount of holy energy into her claws before cutting through the lock. That done she pushed the door open and made her way to the others. Sure the lock was no more but the door was still fully intact so most humans would be unlikely to notice much.
When the group was back together Psych preceeded to pour the liquid into the hole and oh boy the stench was enough to make her eyes water. "Oh God, that stench is foul. I thought this building was bad." Blitzwolfmon gagged before backing away so she didn't vomit.
The liquid opened up a secret passage leading to an elevator and Speed was eager to check it out as he sprinted for it. "Speed, I understand your excitement but we need to be cautious." she called out but too late it seemed. Sighing she dashed after Speed and into the elevator determined to at least try to keep the fast moving dragon out of too much trouble.
Inside the elevator she noticed that their was a button for the basement and as Speed pressed it she braced herself for the potential trouble they could find. After all why would this guy go through all the trouble of hiding this elevator if it didn't lead to trouble?
A few minutes later the doors opened to the sight of what appeared to be a combo of a hospital and a labratory. Taking a few cautious steps out of the elevator Blitzwolfmon looked around taking in the sight wondering how to best go about things.

Zack's eyes darted from one side of the hallway intersection to the other. His hands tucked up to the crook of him thumbs in his pockets. This place had mad scientist energy leaking out of every pore and it was making him, for one, ever so slightly uneasy. He didn't want to discount the idea the their enemy might be watching them from somewhere, leading them down a rabbit hole that would snap shut on top of them at the least helpful moment.
"Alright, this is gonna sound silly but hear me out." He said, still talking in his mind as to not even theoretically give anything away to any secret microphones or two way radios embedded in the scenery. "I think we should split up and check both hallways. The one to the labs seems more important by far, but if I were the bad guy I'd know that putting up signs like these is a liability without some extra turns in this maze. Checking the break rooms and lockers especially might lead us into something important, especially if people actually WORK here. I know that I've left some company property in my locker overnight. Marigold and I might as well take that route while you guys go up the the other way. Keeping our eyes open and on our toes." He said, keeping his head on a swivel. Security was the name of the game for places like this, it would be impossible to know if they were going to trip something potentially lethal before it happened but they needed to stick their necks out at least a little bit in order to make progress. "Someone already left that vial key for us to find, assuming it wasn't left there TO be found we're dealing with a system where at least one person on payroll is prone to making bad slips." He said, spinning on his heels to face down the hall toward the lockers and the brake room, though he paused, turning over his shoulder to Speed and, with a jaunty cant of his head to one side. "Oh and Speed? If we stumble into a pit trap or something, you're the only one that can bail out my sorry hide from the other end of the building. Do with that trust what you will." He said, beginning to walk down the halls.

Both possibilities of it being a fluke or not are indeed possible, Psych said to the group. Like I said, it was simply lying haphazardly on the ground. It's hard to tell if someone simply dropped it, or if it was placed her deliberately for us to find. But if that's the case, why the second floor instead of the first?
Now that the group was standing in the middle of this main lobby area of this underground establishment, they had a choice to make: which hallway would they go down? While Zero's drone and Stacy were observing the immediate area, Zack had an idea: split up into two teams to go down the two different hallways. "Why do you wanna go down that hallway?" Speed asked. "It looks like just boring workplace stuff."
"Are you fancying a snack from the cafeteria?" Zero's voice joked from the drone.
Zack's reasoning did make at least some sense though. What if some employee left something important in his locker, bring up the vial key's convenient appearance as an example. I understand, but I doubt you will find anything in there.
Zack looked to Speed, basically telling the dragon that he would be the only one quick enough to save Zack and Marigold if they did fall into a pit trap of some kind. Speed didn't even acknowledge them visibly, but they had no need to worry... as angry as Speed was at the two, if they needed help he would go rushing right to them. But would they do the same for the twins and Stacy?
Zack and Marigold would find a lot of the usual stuff when going down that hallway. It was laid out cleanly enough, at least, not too easy to get lost in. Going into the breakrooms would find... a couple of seats, a bookshelf, a refrigerator and microwave. Checking the drawers of the counters would only result in finding plastic forks. Nothing in there. Going into the locker rooms would yield similar results, a line of open, unlocked, clear door lockers with nothing inside of them and nothing else.
Meanwhile, Speed, Psych, and Zero's drone would split off once they entered the other hallway. Speed would check out both the Arena and the Cages. The Arena was what one would expect, a circular battlefield surrounded by bulletproof glass protected viewing boxes. Were they... making people fight in here or something? After checking that out, the Speedramon walked into the Cages room and-
"Speed?"
"AUGH!" Speed jumped as he looked towards the source of the voice. Inside one of the cages was a Wisemon, one wearing some form of... technological wrist bracelet. But this wasn't any old Wisemon... "Weston? Wh- what are you doing here?"
"Please tell me you didn't come here alone."
"Of course I didn't. Weston, what happened? Why are you in a... cage...?" This would be when Speed would notice the other cages, filled with all different types of Digimon ranging from rookie level to Ultimate level, each one wearing a variation of that wristband, and each one looked nervous and scared. "What in Homeostasis...?"
While that was going on and while Zero's drone would search the computer room, scanning and hacking the computers for any bit of information that he could get (which was tricky, these computers' firewalls were absurdly strong,) Psych would be the one to enter one of the rooms marked "Containment Room." The first thing facing him was one giant glass container filled with that same pink and green liquid from before. The liquid itself was thick and pulsating, the green blotches fluidly moving through it as if they were alive. I believe I found something... unexpected in one of the Containment Rooms, Psych told the group.
Well I bet my big unexpected thing beats yours. There's tons of Digimon in cages here, including our friend Weston the Wisemon.

Psych made good points regarding the vial but the question of why it was on the second floor not the first was equally befuddling. Blitzwolfmon figured it wasn't important now and they could always worry about such a mystery later.
When Zack and Marigold took off they had some logic though Blitzwolfmon had a feeling that rummaging the break room and kitchen wouldn't give them the answers they needed so she went down the same hall as everyone else. Looking at the various rooms she saw the Zero drone head for the computers. Since even as a human she had no knack for computer hacking she figured she wasn't needed there and headed after Speed. He had slowed down and had. First she headed for the areana and saw the circular battlefield and viewing boxes before approaching it and running her claws across the glass and it seemed resilient and she hadn't even charged her claws with her holy power. She started getting an uncomfortable feeling and, not one to ignore her instincts, left the arena heading to the area marked cages. When she reached there her heart sunk at the sight of various digimon from rookie to ultimate imprisoned and scared. She also saw they were wearing various wristbands of an unknown purpose. Was this what the arena was for? The though of it made her blood boil and a growl surface from her throat.
Following her instincts her claws began to glow with holy power. She had to at least try to help these digimon. Then to the imprisoned digimon she said "Stay back! I'm going to try to free you. Sacred Slash!"
OOC: Blitzwolfmon finds the imprisoned digimon and attempts to free them with her Sacred Slash. Sacred Slash: She uses the claws on her hands and feet to slash at close range opponents with holy energy.

Zack tried to make notes of everything his found, whistling softly as he pushed and pulled the clear locker door in front of him, looking down and checking along the bottoms of the lockers. Any clue he can get, even dust outlines of something that maybe used to be there, boot prints, anything that can get them information that he didn't have before. he did however make a special note of how many lockers were lined up in the room. it gave them an upper limit, or at least a broad estimation of how many people worked here, how many goons they might end up stuck dealing with.
"We've got about thirty lockers, more or less, I can't tell if all of them are being used, they're cleared out top to bottom. But at least it gives up an upper level of how many goons this guy has on call unless we discover a barracks somewhere. Talk about a boss from hell, they're using clear locker doors like all the worst parts of working at an Amazon Warehouse, yeesh.
