Name: Keiko Wakabayashi
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Height: 145cm // 4’9”
Weight: 40kg // 88 lbs
Birth Date: June 3
Birth Place: Fukuyama
Digivice: 01 Design
Personality: Keiko doesn’t know if there’s life after death, but if there is a chance for reincarnation, be it by the way of the heavenly Buddha or by the will of bullshit isekai, Keiko is most definitely ready to start over. For various reasons, she’s given up on this world and its people, becoming a shut-in when she should be living out her youthful high-school years.
Keiko dismisses most current events, or at least the ones that don’t affect her directly. Call her self-centered, but she doesn’t want to hear about problems bigger than herself or that there’s nothing that she can do to help, though if there were something she could do, Keiko would likely come up with some excuse not to if it were anything more than mildly inconvenient. The only good deeds Keiko performs are there to absolve her of the guilt of the fact that she doesn’t really go out of her way to help others. Anything to justify calling herself a good person, even though she knows that when the chips are down, she’ll always look out for number one.
As stated previously, Keiko’s a shut-in who would much rather be alone and away from the attention of others. She’ll spend her days online, or reading various novels, and of course, if only to complete the trifecta, gaming, preferring slower-paced games like visual novels or anything turn-based. In fact, it’s this love of gaming that has let her be emotionally detached from herself as a person, and just see things in a more cold and calculating light. This is most definitely unhealthy, but for Keiko it’s also a necessary coping mechanism she needs to deal with past trauma.
Keiko’s developed a nihilistic worldview and constantly tells herself that nothing actually matters. That all her fears and worries are just as insignificant as she is, and everything else in the world. But in reality Keiko is a deeply passionate and imaginative person who can’t help but get obsessed over everything around her. Like wanting to draw and write about a charming side-character in a game she played, digging deeper into the game’s lore and stir up many a discourse over the internet on why her headcanon is superior. Or fantasize about that ruggedly-handsome convenience store clerk, and imagine an entire life around this one man that she sees thirty seconds at a time.
Despite what she’d want you to believe, Keiko’s an incredibly sensitive person who can react big with little stimulation. She feels too strongly about everything that she grows attached to, and for as much as she loathes the world around her, she gets attached to things fairly easily. So she tries to cut herself off from the world. If she can’t grow attached to anything, then the things that she loves can’t hurt her anymore, right?
Appearance: Keiko’s not too concerned about her physical appearance. It’s not uncommon for her to forget/decide not to bathe, and it can be quite a bit of time before she bothers doing her laundry. That said, while she doesn’t like to do it too often, whenever she does go outside she at least makes a modicum of effort. She doesn’t really have a preferred style, but she tries to coordinate whatever clothes she has lying around, wrinkled or otherwise. Her bows are incredibly precious to her, and unless she’s sleeping, she tries to tie her hair up with at least one no matter how childish it makes her look. She’s horrendously far-sighted, though she prefers contacts due to multiple incidents of stepping on misplaced glasses.
FaceClaim: Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun • Chiyo Sakura • Keiko Wakabayashi
Personal History: While she doesn’t really have anything else for comparison, Keiko never really felt like she was anything special, growing up. Parents who would occasionally bicker but ultimately loved each other and their children. A younger brother who she didn’t entirely get along with but looked out for each other at the end of the day. A group of friends that she spent time with and laughed together, but the kind of friends that would forget about each other the moment they moved on to other social circles.
But during her last year of junior high, a then-optimistic Keiko would put everything on the line and put her heart out on her sleeve. And the results couldn’t have been more disastrous. Through various coincidences that would be comical to most but absolutely traumatic to her, Keiko found herself going through what she would later dub as the Worst Day in Human History, later to be shortened as the Worstening. Anything that could have gone wrong did, and Keiko would find herself the laughingstock of her entire school.
And after that, Keiko may as well have been radioactive. Her friends were too scared to be seen with her. Classmates and even a couple teachers would openly dismiss her. And once it was clear that she was fair game, it wasn’t long before anyone that didn’t even know her personally would know about and pick on her. Every day she spent in school was an anxiety-filled powder keg of humiliation and mockery. It was enough to change one optimistic, naive girl’s viewpoints of the world and its inhabitants.
If Keiko had superpowers, then that would have been the beginning of her supervillain origin story. But reality isn’t so convenient, and all Keiko wanted was an escape from her life from a small town. So she begged and pleaded with her parents for a way out, for her to go to school in another city, somewhere more populated and she would just be one more face in the crowd. And after meeting their demands, improving her test scores, and showing that she was capable of being on her own, her parents acquiesced, allowing her to spend her high school years on her own in Shibuya. Keiko would finally be able to escape this hellish small town!
And while her life certainly seemed like it would get better, her trauma and anxieties around it were more like an open wound than a hardened scar. Every little jab her peers would make at her expense dug way too deep into her, and she would often overreact, to the point where sometimes she would get physically ill. And her anxieties would kick into overdrive. Just this alone would make her new peers think badly of her, right? She was going to become radioactive all over again.
So she stopped attending class and became a shut-in. She didn’t tell her parents, but they would no doubt be livid when they found out. But Keiko would just deal with that circumstance when it came around. Once they cut her off financially, she could just get a job or something, maybe try and make a profit from her various hobbies. She had been drawing fanart of various media ever since she was a small child, and she’d gotten pretty good at it. And while she didn’t think she had a knockout figure, she could totally like, sell cosplay photos or something. And she was used to writing fanfiction, so she could write a light novel and get published! All of those were totally viable and easy-to-accomplish goals for a thin-skinned teenager, right?
But regardless of what she did, Keiko couldn’t go back. She couldn’t go anywhere anymore. And nothing was ever going to change that.
Not even this giant egg that just appeared in her apartment one day.
Digimon Name: Bub
Default Form: Chibimon
Gender: Male
Personality: Optimistic. If I could get away with writing that word down 150 times for Bub’s personality and be done with it, you could be sure that I’d do it. But that’s not the case here, is it? Bub is young, naive, and possibly a little stupid, but no matter how dark things become, Bub is always looking for a silver lining, that little speckle of hope that will help light up that darkness and let him see something meaningful that he can grasp onto. He’s stubborn enough to not let himself give into despair or be tainted by the moods of the more dour, pessimistic folk.
Bub has insanely good luck, and things just always seem to turn out well for him to an outright improbable degree. And the fact that he’s so blessed has given him a privilege that he doesn’t quite understand just yet. This has given him his optimistic viewpoint, since things always seem to work out for him when he really needs it to, he just assumes that it’s the same for others. If you’re down on your luck, you just need to be more like him and look forward to the future with a smile!
That said, sometimes he doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut. There’s a time and a place to be hopeful, and his constant positivity can be jarring at times when it’s not appropriate. He doesn’t fully comprehend that sadness, anger, and fear are justifiable emotions, and that sometimes people just break sometimes. He’s compassionate and quick to sympathize with others, but because he is the way he is, he just doesn’t have the faculties to truly empathize with someone with someone’s traumas. Maybe one day he’ll learn this, but it’s also more likely thatKeikosomeone will strangle him to death first.

1. Good Luck Gum - Bub spits out a wad of chewing gum towards someone. It’s kind of gross, but legends state that if you can chew this wad of gum exactly one billion times (assuming you chewed once per second, it would take over 30 years), then you’ll be granted good fortune for the rest of your life. Also, if it happens to get stuck in your hair... yeah. Also, it seems just like bubblegum, it’s actually Bub’s version of a booger, but he prefers not to inform people of that.

2. Good Luck Dragon Force Headbonk Buster Slash Overdive Breaker - Bub headbutts, or as he calls it “Head-Bubs”, the target, giving any Rookie or higher Digimon incredible luck in either Strength, Defense, or Speed. Through almost bizarre methods, they gain a 100% boost to whatever stat the target desires as things just happen to conveniently go their way for 3 posts. Out of combat, it’s also a useful ability for both Casinos and gacha games, though it might not be worth the concussion.

He’s not anything special, physically speaking, but he always seems to get that tiny little boost that he needs through various means of fortunate events. As such, he seems about 10% stronger, faster, and tougher than the average Digimon of his level. Also, he always seems to win at just about any luck-based game that he’s involved in.

4. It’s a Critical Hit!!! - As stated previously, Bub is pretty lucky. Whenever he hits an enemy with a basic attack, he just happens to hit them in a weak spot and deal double damage, effectively giving them the strength of a 0-CD move.

RU1. Endless Possibilities - Turns out, Bub’s fortune is a little bit more complicated than just having “good luck”. Whenever things look dire, Bub accidentally alters reality, summoning alternate versions of himself. They are identical to his Alternate Forms, but they functionally act as Mercenaries for the remainder of the combat. Bub can’t summon any Alternate Form this account doesn’t have the appropriate Mercenary Contract for, and alternate reality versions of Bub are unable to use abilities granted by any kind of RAM Upgrade item. Cannot be used if all merc slots of that level are filled.

RU2. Live in Denial - Bub rejects any reality he or someone close to him could die. This move restores any fallen ally to full health, along with any debuffs. If this ability hasn’t been used when Bub himself has fallen, then his entire turn is spent using this ability on himself.

Maybe one day he’ll learn this, but it’s also more likely that

[RU-G] Good Luck Dragon - Things just seem to go Bub’s way.
