Sound of clashing metals reverberates on the area. Two digimons locked in a clash, one with a sword and another with a kanabo-styled bat. A Vmon, taller than most normal Vmons, is the one who's with a sword. The other one is a well built, yet still quite normal Impmon, wielding Kanabo.
"...Are you sure it's wise to keep weapon locking yourself like this with me?"
"Heh, I'm the one with bigger weapon, old man. No matter how strong your body is, if your weapon is flimsy it will break. You normally won't clash sharp weapon with a blunt one. Sharp one will lose and break!"
"What old man, you shitty brat?" the Vmon grinned "I swear you Impmons really love to call people out for their age... I'm not even that old! Though... your logic is sound indeed... I can't really raise my sword to push you farther than this..."
"And it takes everything of me to even keep you on place you monster!"
"Heh, that's just experience, kiddo.... But see... just like that..."
The Vmon suddenly dropped the power on his sword, letting it fell to the ground, while at the same time strafing to the side. Said Vmon immediately, with his left arm pulled, launched a jab toward the Impmon's solar plexus! The Impmon attempted to defend with a magical shield, unaware of the property of the Vmon's jab---
CRACK
The magic barrier immediately cracked and shattered as the Vmon's fist hit the Impmon squarely, winning him the match.
"...Whew."
"WINNER! VALT THE VMON!" the referee called out.
So why was Valt here again, in the colosseum? Simple... he's just trying his mettle against other Digimons. Since the damned stagnation it causes quite the power drop for Valt too... which means he need to train from ground up. Thing is, he got the experience. He just don't have the strength. How does he holds up? Turned out it's pretty great! He can get money from the fight! ...Well all in all it's win-win. He doesn't mind to lose money either.
"...Mmm?" he spotted Ryouta hanging around the adult stage area. He quickly approached his partner.
"Aniki, what's up?" he asked. In turn, Ryouta simply pointed at a Leomon struggling against a Minomon. The Leomon is unlike most bulky Leomons... if it's like someone who failed an evolution midway and eded up being stuck in between of adult and child. He's still muscular and looked quite beefy... if someone looked at him in human standard that is. His mane has yet fully developed, looking like teenish than actually an adult.
"....Hmn, a Variant?"
"I don't quite get it either," Ryouta answered... "but it's clear that he's falling against his opponent."
"Is he not a sword or fist user?"
"....Hmn, no, look..."
Ryouta pointed at the weapon the guy have, which is... a long staff.
"...Three section staff, I see. Would be good if you have a firm power and speed, but... It looked to me that..."
"He picked that because he's afraid of getting hit? That's what I thought too."
"...Yeah, to me it feels like he's using it as a poking stick rather than actual weapon.... Is he trying to win by point out instead?"
"...Might be, I think if he lost more than enough, he can be demoted... This..." Ryouta looked at the name of the gladiator. "...Leus the Leomon huh."
