Combined with Dorulumon's aggressive run, and the overall discomfort of her seating, Natsu decided that she might need to get a saddle or something. The sheer number of times her rear got bumped by the newly evolved Digimon's breakneck pace was an ominous foreshadowing of the pain Natsu was going to be in for the next couple of days.
The rest of the posse riding on Gabumon, however? Oddly enough, fairly comfortable. He didn't run so much as glide across the ground on a set of wheels, making it a fairly smooth ride by comparison. And despite the load straining his back, Gabumon's pace managed to easily catch up to his brother. In fact, he could have passed the Dorulumon quite easily, but Gabumon had the sense that doing so would trigger his brother's competitive streak, and it looked like Miss Natsu was having a rough enough ride as it was.
Still, the group managed to put recent events past them and focus on the matters at hand. Nami spoke a little weird, but she had a good point. Haru pondered it over for a bit. She was pretty darned smart for someone her age, but... unless she was planning on pulling a prank on the volcano, chances were she had to think outside the box.
Which meant she had to learn more about this metaphorical box. "Can't say, but you two!" She turned back to her green riding companions. "You two know more about this island than any of us? Can you give us more details about this volcano and stuff?"
Haru was sure she was just going to hear some more myths and nonsense, but surely there may be a legend or two with some truths behind it, right? So it was all a matter of weeding out the stuff that didn't make sense, and sort out what might actually be true.
"Okay... So..." Ogremon cleared it throat. "Legends began with Ancient Volcamon, Digimon who controlled power of molten earth. He rule part of Western Continent. His heart had become enthralled by desert cat dancer, Bastemon. Using power, he court her and promise life of fame and fortune, but Bastemon wanderer that did not want to be tied down to particular kingdom. She reject Ancient Volcamon, but only made him want her more."
"I'd say that's more... stalker-y than lovestruck..." Natsu commented as Ogremon continued.
"Fed up with Ancient Volcamon, Bastemon turned to traveling companion, monkey Digimon Gokuwmon, traveling trickster. Cat and monkey Digimon conspire to deal with Ancient Volcamon. Bastemon and Gokuwmon were powerful, but Ancient Volcamon was stronger. They form plan to rob him of strength. Gokuwmon pose as Bastemon's lover, and challenge Ancient Volcamon to duel. Eager to accept and confident, Ancient Volcamon agree to due, allowed Gokuwmon to pick location of duel."
"Oh. I see where this is going..." Haru muttered.
"Shh! Don't spoil it, Haru!" Gabumon complained. "What happens next, Ogremon!? Please tell us!"
"Gokuwmon chose this place. But in ancient times, no island, only ocean. Gokuwmon create illusion of island. Ancient Volcamon arrive, but he fell into water and drown. Ancient Volcamon converted data into this very island we're on! He decided to become island with fierce volcano instead of reformatting!"
"Heh. Going out with a bang. Respect!" Dorulumon commented.
"He was a creepy stalker who was so stupid he got tricked into drowning. What part of that is respectful?" Natsu asked her mount.
But before that conversation could continue, Haru had something else to ask. "But that's just the creation of the island. What's that have to do with these dog gods that you keep referring to?"
"Oh! I was so caught up in the story that I forgot about that part!" Gabumon admitted. And it definitely wasn't because the writer was making this up off the top of her head, either!
"Ogremon was getting to that part, but had to give you context!" Ogremon shot back. He cleared his throat once again. "Ancient Volcamon had two beast Digimon, known as Beast Knights, close companions. When Ancient Volcamon perish, kingdom went immediately into turmoil. Beast Knights were strong, but not strong to defend entire kingdom. Ancient Volcamon's kingdom perish, and Beast Knights led refugees to this island. Beast Knights sought out those responsible for master's death, Bastemon and Gokuwmon. They called out the two and challenge them to fight, hoping island would give them strength."
"For some reasons these Beast Knights sound cool! Did their opponents show up? Did they win?"
"Gabu... umm... Garmmon, maybe let him finish his story?" Natsu chided politely.
"Oh! Sorry, please continue!"
"They never fought. As soon as cat Digimon and monkey Digimon set foot on island, Ancient Volcamon's fury manifested, and threatened to cover island in blanket of molten rock! Beast Knights attempted to offer up Bastemon and Gokuwmon's data to appease, but they escape from island."
"Cowards!"
"So Beast Knights offer themselves to quell master's anger. And the island's inhabitants renamed their island 'Inu-Inu', and revered Beast Knights as dog gods and saviors!"
"So that's why you had a beef with cat Digimon and monkey Digimon earlier..." Haru added.
"Yes! And every time we offer up dog Digimon, Mt. Inu-Inu's fury ceases. Ancestors only accepted volunteers at first, but when times got desperate they found that sacrifice's consent wasn't issue!"
"I guess... that's fitting, considering the source..." Natsu muttered underneath nervous laughter.
And while that was very informative, Haru hadn't quite thought of how Ogremon's story could be useful. Besides, the post was getting long enough as it was. So maybe Nami had some ideas or thoughts? Gabumon and Gaomon didn't seem to have any ideas, but this was a Digimon's world. A Digimon's perspective might be helpful here! 5455/6000

As things were at the moment, it seemed like it was time for a story lesson in order to fully understand why things were happening the way they were. It was a very long, and admittedly weird tale, but Nami got the gist of it. A stalker that didn’t know that no actually meant no, and that was promptly outsmarted by a monkey, of all things.
She didn’t quite understand why anyone would choose to settle on a place like this one, but that was on them. That also left the question of why the gods of this island were dogs, even though Haru was quick to ask the necessary questions regarding it… to a fairly weird conclusion, all things considered “Confusion. Why would a kingdom’s regent decide to forsake their people? Was their love, or hatred, strong enough to burn the lives of their subjects without regret after all the things they had done for him?”
It was probably a rhetorical question, since the answer for that one was probably out of the reach of anyone present. Yet, still, the Meicoomon wondered about these apparently pointless facts. In the end, it seemed like a sacrifice was necessary to appease the volcano, and that the thing had picked a preference for the taste of what had been its most loyal subjects. Talk about a thankless master. In any case…
With the story done, Nami proceeded to ponder possible solutions to this issue. She didn’t entirely buy the whole story behind this island, but if thus far it had worked, then it probably had some truth to it. What could the group do? After some seconds thinking, the cat finally spoke. “Consideration. If we poke enough holes at the volcano, we might reduce the accumulated pressure and make the resulting eruption more manageable. Dorulumon would be quite apt for that.” That, of course, was an option that didn’t take in mind the myth in any way. Or… “Alternative. Maybe recreating the would-be fight between Bastemon, Gokuwmon and the Beast Knights and having them win would appease the volcano’s long-standing grudge? I can play Bastemon’s part, and the dogs can be the beast knights.”
Her gaze went to the girls right after that. What she was about to say had the potential to be offensive, but she didn’t care all that much about it. “Affirmation. Humans and monkeys are close enough, aren’t they? If we don’t get any monkey digimon, maybe one of you could play Gokuwmon’s part.”

As they rode, Nami did have a couple of questions, though no one could answer them. Ogremon just shrugged, while Haru shook her head. "No point thinking about that kind of stuff. I don't read much, but from what I've heard, most people that make it into the history books tend to be jerks, anyways!"
Then Nami listed out a couple of plans for them, Gabumon nodding along. "I think those plans are much better than being sacrificed!" He admitted.
"Digging around pockets of magma seems a little more than dangerous, while the other one seems... kind of hopeful, I guess?" Natsu added. This situation was a little too much for the girl, honestly. She did NOT expect to be taking on a volcano today, or whatever the hell happened back at the beach. She tried to get her wits about her and asked, "Ogremon, Shamamon, are there any monkey Digimon on the island that we can find? I mean, we're technically close to being monkeys, if you really think about it, but the fact that we're humans might exclude us from being a monkey Digimon."
Shamamon shook his head. "Monkey Digimon no go around these parts. Cat Digimon are tolerated because they cute, but people on Inu-Inu extremely intolerant towards monkey Digimon," He gave a stern look towards Natsu. "So maybe filthy human not go around saying she close to being monkey."
"I guess... admitting racism is the first step to solving it...?" She offered back, chuckling nervously. So not only was she going to save an entire island from a freaking volcano, but she was also going to save the lives of a bunch of racists. Shit... was this island really worth saving after all?
"I like both of those ideas..." Dorulumon grumbled aloud. "I get to kick the volcano's ass for one plan, and for the other, I get the chance to kick her ass!" He looked over towards one of his brother's many riders, giving Haru a wolfish grin, though the girl didn't seem to be paying any attention.
"Dorulumon, no hurting my sister, even if it's for a good cause!" Natsu chided, slapping the beast Digimon's side. Still... this was a perfect opportunity for Haru. While pulling pranks and tricking people was more of a guilty pleasure for Natsu, it was practically ingrained into her sister. And the chance to trick some ancient spirit as well as save a bunch of lives? That was probably Haru's dream come true! And it seemed that Haru came to the same conclusion, because once she wasn't lost in thought anymore grinned and pointed to the volcano.
"Alright, then! If both are viable options... then we're gonna go with the first! We'll poke so many holes underground that the volcano will never be able to erupt again!"
"Huh? But Nami's second option seems a lot safer, don't you think?" Gabumon stated. But Haru shrugged.
"That's assuming Ogremon's story is legit, and that the spirit of this Ancient Whatevermon can be pacified in the first place. And if that story is true, then... I'd rather placate a creep who doesn't know how to take no for an answer, or how to hold an 'L'. So if that volcano is representing his rage or whatever, I wanna hit it so hard the most it'll be able to do is make someone's hot summer day just a little worse!" She stopped to look around to everyone around her. "So... um... I know digging around and poking holes in a volcano's pretty dangerous, but can everyone go along with that?"
Natsu couldn't help but burst out into laughter from the sheer disbelief of it. Haru was actually asking someone before dragging them along for the ride? "Wait, what are you laughing about? I'm trying to be serious here!" 6092/6000 (WOOOO!!!)

Haru had a point; Nami could concede that much. At a time like this one, asking questions like that was probably not the most productive endeavor. And, considering the volcano’s nearing eruption, not something they should really care about!
Both of Nami’s potential plans had been received with a measure of acceptance, even though the following dilemma was which alternative would be the one the group would take. After a somewhat short conversation and a viewpoint exchange, Natsu seemed to advocate for the more theatrical approach, while Haru ultimately went with the one that had the more realistic chances of working. If they poked enough holes at the volcano, the gases that pushed the lava outside would find other ways to escape rather than build pressure and end in the aforementioned result.
Physics on how that worked aside, it was a solid plan that Nami could definitely agree to collaborate on; mostly because it had been her idea, but that was a small detail in the grand scheme of things. “Agreement. I fully support this course of action.” Considering everyone else agreed, it was probably easy to guess that they’d get to work. “Time is of the essence. We should hurry up.”
Hoping that the sisters’ quarrel was left for a better time, given the group had left the volcano’s location, Nami dismounted and went upwards in order to survey the area surrounding the volcano. It’d take her some moments, but she would eventually come back to where the group was located. “Plan. I’ll take care of the volcano’s back side and rotate to the left as I’m done poking holes at it. You can take care of the front side.” With that said, the cat began to tread towards her destination, all while various wisps of white fire began to swirl around her. If anyone cared to observe the lightshow, it’d eventually end with them converging within her and triggering an evolution into Angewomon X.
How many holy arrows would be necessary to leave a hole of the necessary size? She didn’t know, but hopefully the process would go smoothly. And if not, well…
Not really a big loss.

"Huh. So cats can turn into angels in this world... I guess that makes sense..." Haru noted, crossing her arms and nodding thoughtfully. "...Somehow."
Natsu shook her head and cleared her throat. They had better things to do. "So... I guess Dorulumon just pokes some holes in the side of this volcano, and then things will get better, right?"
Haru gave her sister a long stare, then nodded. "I... guess so? It's not like any of us have ever done this before, you know? We should just try our best! Probably..." Now that it was time to put their plan into action, it seemed like Haru was getting a little nervous. Which was more than enough to put Natsu on edge. Haru was hardly ever nervous about anything. But she supposed that even someone as thick-headed as Haru could conceive of what could possibly go wrong here.
"Well... then I guess it's our turn, right Dorulumon?" Natsu declared, rubbing her mount's side.
"Wait, what?" Haru asked all of a sudden.
"We need Dorulumon to dig around the volcano, right? And if he goes alone, then he'll likely try and dig through the blasted thing. And... I'm his partner. That means I need to go!"
"There's no way in hell that I can let you two go off alone!" Haru's face was getting intense with nigh-panic. Well now, there was all kinds of emotions that Natsu hadn't seen in quite a long time. "It's my plan, so let me ride on your damned dog and you can hang back here with Gabumon!"
"Sorry, but that's not how this works! It has to be me who goes with Dorulumon!" Natsu couldn't really explain why, but her instincts were just telling her that she had to stay by the doggo's side. Plus, Natsu was increasingly worried about the non-zero chance that if Haru went alone with Dorulumon, the drill-doggo would try and drill through a pocket of magma and get them both killed out of spite.
"That's not an explanation! You can't just go alone and..." Haru's words were failing her at this point, and she stopped to point at Natsu. "You're freaking shaking!"
"That's me, actually!" Dorulumon piped up with a wolfish grin. "I'm trembling with so much excitement that it's shaking Natsu!" Natsu reached down with a trembling hand and pet his side once more in gratitude. Then, Ogremon moved off of the Garmmon mount, then moved onto Dorulumon instead.
"Ogremon think filthy humans talk too much. Shamamon, blade doggy, and one filthy human stay behind if things go bad," The green-skinned oni Digimon proclaimed. "Ogremon, drill doggy, and other filthy human do hard work and save island. It simple."
"You say that, but..." Gabumon narrowed his eyes towards the native. "You're shaking more than Miss Natsu and my brother combined!"
"Ogremon not scared. Ogremon moving around because Ogremon need to use bathroom."
"Then get off and go!" "Then get off my back!" As it turns out, digging was a slow process, even when you were a doggy covered in drills. Probably didn't help that Dorulumon had to make room for both Natsu and Ogremon, but it's not like the girl could just leave her partner to fend for himself, right?
"Take that, dirt. Eat it, rock..." Natsu's partner unenthusiastically proclaimed. Compared to the aspect of fighting a volcano, he just couldn't put his digicore into this. It was a simple task, really, dig a tunnel, poke holes until gas could release, and then run like crazy. Natsu thought that she was starting to get a little dizzy from the fumes, but... maybe it was just her mind playing tricks on her?
Unfortunately, this would all go to shit. Because one such hole that they poked didn't shoot out a burst of pressurized gas, but rather an intensely hot glowing substance. Natsu had seen enough minecraft to know what was going on, and she immediately kicked at Dorulumon's sides, screaming, "Run! Run! Run!"
And yet the substance didn't seem to budge. In fact, it remained right where it was. And a disturbing hollow echo rung within Dorulumon's constructed tunnel.
Lowly subjects of my kingdom... You dare to disturb my slumber... at the very source of my power, no less... You will feel my WRATH!!!
There was a bubbling of motion as Natsu froze up in fear, but that passed as nothing followed suit. Eventually she shook the fear off, spurring Dorulumon to get a move on. "Dorulumon, get us out of here!"
"But I want to see wha-"
"Now!" Oddly enough, Dorulumon complied, spinning around and dashing his way back through his tunnels as quickly as possible.
"Nothing happen. Ogremon confused," Ogremon looked back curiously. "Ancient spirit real, and angry, but not making volcano erupt."
"Maybe... Whatever we were doing worked?" Natsu pondered. Well, it was probably the angel lady that flew around and shot holes at it. Dorulumon's handiwork was admittedly slow.
"Then problem is solved? Volcano no more erupt?"
"I think..." Natsu's concerned, near-panicked face turned into a bright smile. "I think that you're ri-"
Dorulumon came to a halt as the earth around them began to rumble. The rocks around them began to crack and fall apart, and from the very core of Mt. Inu-Inu, was a gargantuan beast the likes and scale of which Natsu had never seen before. Where Mt. Inu-Inu once stood, towering the entire island, was now obliterated entirely and in its place was this glowing orange figure.
It was spherical in shape, with a pair of large, bulging arms and a comparatively tiny head. At it was made out of pure, molten rock. Despite this, it seemed to have the voice to let out a bellowing roar that shook the entire island once more. This was a scene no doubt noticeable to just about anyone on the island, and then some. With the rocks and the ground underneath them no more, and being completely blown away, Natsu, Dorulumon, and Ogremon went flying high up into the air, all three of them screaming in shock and horror. And to make matters worse, a stream of flames came flying right at them.
But while Natsu was too panicked to react to anything, the Digimon besides her managed to recover. Ogremon covered his fist with a dark, eerie purple energy, and threw a punch out at it. "HAOUKEN!!!" He yelled out, sending that energy into a beam that collided with the incoming flame. However, as cool as the attack was, it did nothing to hamper the flame's progress.
Dorulumon began to spin every drill on his body, enough to create a vortex of air that formed a barrier around them. The barrier of air met with the flame burst from Ancient Volcamon's vengeful spirit, keeping it at bay for a couple of second, before it too broke apart. Dorulumon's barrier did little to stop the attack, but it was ultimately fortunate that he used it. Being stuck in the air, the collision and the destruction of his barrier was enough to push the trio out of the way of the brunt of the attack, the grazing blow scorching the drill doggy. Meanwhile, Ogremon covered the little girl with his body, managing to protect her from the intense flames.
When Natsu got her wits about her, everything seemed wrong. She was so high in the air, and around her was an unconscious Gaomon and a motionless Ogremon. And then she realized that she was falling.
As had been stated so many times over this past day... this was something that Natsu just hadn't been prepared to deal with today. All she wanted was to go on a cruise, tour some tropical islands with her...
Haru! Oh god, what had happened to her!? Did she and Gabumon make it out okay!? Was she able to avoid getting crushed by the shattered stone debris!?
"NATSU!" She heard her sister's voice scream out at the top of her lungs. In the distance below her was Garmmon, with Haru and Shamamon on his back. The armor Digimon's bladed wings were extended and glowing with a bright color as he shot upwards at an alarming velocity. Haru caught her sister in the air, the two pulling each other into a hug as Natsu held on for dear life. Shamamon managed to grab Gaomon, while Garmmon sunk his teeth unceremoniously into Ogremon's rear, doing his best to hold his breath.
For a brief moment, the group was safe. But that moment passed as the lingering will of Ancient Volcamon's wrath set its gaze upon them.
...They were probably toast. Very, very burnt toast.

Seemingly, the plan worked more or less as Nami had envisioned it. The various holes poked at the volcano through her holy arrows, plus Dorulumon doing what dorulumons do best probably helped the magma built inside the volcano decompress quite a bit. Given the relative safety drilling from afar with arrows rather than getting close and personal with what were no doubt noxious fumes, the Angewomon X’s job went way more smoothly from the safety standpoint than her counterpart’s, but that was more or less to be expected.
What wasn’t precisely expected, on the other hand, was that the tale about an Ancient Volcamon inhabiting the volcano was actually real, and that it seemed pretty angry and the group’s handiwork. That off-chance, however, made a smirk slowly appear on Nami’s face. This was way more fortuitous of an event than whatever had led them here in the first place! Or, rather, maybe this was the so-called ‘El Goblino’? It didn’t matter a lot in the grand scheme of things. Thanks to the humans and their doges, the sisters’ quarry had finally been found. Now it was time to hunt it down.
Somewhat regrettably, the digimon had decided to pick on the half of the team that wasn’t well equipped to deal with its attacks. From afar, the angel saw how Natsu, Dorulumon, Orgemon, Haru, and Garummon tried desperately to survive their enemy’s first barrage. A valiant effort in which they ultimately were successful, even if only barely so.
On normal circumstances, given that the gargantuan digimon was barely getting started, this would spell the doom, and premature end of said group. But, luckily, this wouldn’t be the case this time around. Seizing that interval, the Angewomon made her way towards the group, all while a collection of crimson wisps began to orbit around her. Greater in number and more majestic than ever before, they interfused with the angel’s body moments before she caught up with the group.
Lilithmon X’s presence exuded both majesty and danger, even as she stood calmly between the behemoth and the party. “Laudation. You all did a most excellent job at surviving. Worry not. I can take care of this one fairly easily.”
She made sure that nobody had suffered life threatening wounds before addressing the group once again. “Warning. You should seek a safe place to hide while this fight is in progress. This area isn’t safe for any of you.”
With some luck, Mana should’ve finished dealing with Raijin by now, and would join her at any time now.

And then Angel lady turned into... goth... lady? It was kind of hard to keep track at this point. It would be like if a pair of dogs ended up becoming cyborgs or something. It was all just kind of silly, you know? But with Nami interposing herself between the giant monster made of molten rock, Garmmon slowly moved back down to safe ground, where he immediately devolved to Gabumon and sat back in exhaustion. Once he found the strength, he moved over to his brother's side and started to shake him. "Gaomon? Are you okay? You're alive obviously, but... Brother?"
"R-Round 2..." Came a weak voice. There was a brief chuckle. "I'm gonna take him on again, after I get back up..." Gabumon laughed, and hugged his fuzzy brother tightly.
And speaking of embraces, Natsu wouldn't let go of Haru, no matter what. She was shivering in her sister's arms, and Haru didn't know what to do other than hold her back.
"I... I'm sorry... I didn't know that things would get like this, Natsu..." She began, just using whatever words popped into her head at first. It was pretty much the only way she knew how to be honest with her feelings. "I just wanted to go on a cool adventure, and... Remember when we were younger, and we went on vacation and traveled across Kyushu? We begged dad to take us to see Sakurajima, and he said it wasn't in the itinerary. And you got so bummed about it back then so I figured that maybe in this world we could... I dunno... Make it up to you, somehow."
Natsu didn't say anything, but she clutched the sides of Haru's shirt.
"I didn't know things would have gotten dangerous. And that things would get so crazy... and..." Thinking back on everything that happened, Haru couldn't help but feel the excitement, and all the stories she could tell just with this little adventure alone! But not Natsu. She was just left scared and crying after being attacked and almost being murdered by a monster. You know, like a sane person would. The sanity that seemed to be broken within Haru.
It was a bittersweet feeling, holding her still-alive sister, and realizing that Haru would have been absolutely powerless to have prevented her death. All she could do was turn her Digimon partner into a glorified catcher's mitt.
So while help Gaomon stand, and Shamamon made sure that Ogremon was still alive, and while Haru held her sister and let her sob into her chest, Haru looked up to the sky, where goth-former-angel-former-cat lady faced off against a big ball of molten rock, while her kitty sister presumably was coming to support.
And as for the big baddie himself, Ancient Volcamon's lingering will didn't do anything fancy. He simply let out a bellowing roar that shook the entire island once more, and charged ahead straight towards the Lilithmon X, hoping to consume her entirely and incinerate her within his body.

Nami wasn’t sure of what to make regarding the situation she was witnessing at the moment. The puny humans and their digimons were safe, yet the hair was heavy with regret and sadness; the Lilithmon couldn’t really empathize with their plight since she wasn’t sure what else the girls expected when they ventured to a soon-to-erupt volcano. Not like she had the time or really cared about deeming their actions as anything other than critically lacking grounded thought, anyway. With some luck, they didn’t desire to put their lives into further risk and decided to move somewhere relatively safe. If not? Well, there wasn’t a lot she could do about that. Focusing her eyes on who would likely be the strongest enemy she would face this day. As far as she could tell, the digimon looked like a simpleton and a brute, which also probably meant he had his fair share of brawn to justify such crippling flaws. A detestable notion, but that probably meant Nami had to exercise at least some caution when facing this enemy. After a heavy sigh, a massive barrier was erected in front of her, its intent to stop Ancient Volcamon’s advance. Whether he could go past it or not, and with what ease if he could would determine a good deal of the digimon’s future actions. Or, at least those were her initial thoughts. It didn’t take her long to hear an extremely familiar tune as another humanoid figure arrived at the scene posthaste. Yet another demoness, even though this one eschewed the fine fabrics and ornaments for the sake of a less cumbersome getup. “Disappointment. You are fairly late.” For such a dynamic entry, that surely was a mood killer! The Beel Starmon stared at her sister, incredulous. “C’mon, Nami-chan! Cut me some slack here; I can bet you anything that you wouldn’t have liked to be on my shoes.” Some brief seconds of silence passed, in which the Lilithmon looked at her peer, and then at their enemy. “Urgency. Better if we save that one for later. We have to deal with this.” Words were no doubt slower than actions right now, as Mana had already unleashed a massive cannon blast aimed straight towards Ancient Volcamon. “Lessee how he handles that one! You have no idea how much I wanted to pull the trigger on our little sniper.” At the very least, this seemed like it’d be quite the adequate source of catharsis for the frustrated older sister. This fight seemed like the perfect opportunity to blow off some steam.

Ancient Volcamon, though it was little more than a shadow of its previous self, so long as it didn't go for a swim, was a powerful force to be reckoned with, powerful enough to have conquered a good portion of the Western Continent during a time completely irrelevant to any plot-related events and circumstances. Long ago it was feared by the weak and reviled by its enemies. And its power remained unmatched for most of its life during ancient times.
And while its lingering will was nothing compared to back when it was still alive, even today there were only few sources capable of dealing with this creature's wrath.
However, no one seemed to have informed Nami of such crucial details. His massive body of scorching, molten rock collided with her barrier, and almost immediately his advance came to a halt. He drove itself backwards, preparing for another charge, as there was little this practically mindless existence could do at this point, only for Mana to arrive just as well. After and during a brief exchange of words the BeelStarmon fired off a burst that pierced right through its body. Now normally, such a body would have taken reduced damage from such an attack, yet glancing at Mana's moveset, it would seem such passive effects wouldn't seem to function against this Digimon's attacks. How that works... don't ask the reader.
However, with this unstoppable defense, and this incredible offense, there was still one thing that at the very least Mana would find an inconvenience. The Digimon's single attack pierced right through her opponent's body, and its data structure began to scatter apart.
AncientVolcamon didn't scream. He didn't shout in disbelief, or swear vengeance, or give a long-winded soliloquy as to why his existence was justified. AncientVolcamon simply ceased to be, his data scattering about into ash which began to blanket the entire island. And within the scattered structure were two eggs that flew towards down towards the ground, towards a stunned silent Haru and Natsu. Their Digivices seemed to envelop these eggs in a bright light and absorb them, but the twin sisters were simply watching in complete awe of the casual power displayed in the sky above.
Sadly, Mana would have to find something else to vent upon.

That had been… quite the underwhelming payoff, all things considered. Hard to argue how anyone looking for an actual challenge would be frustrated at this; Mana, however. A pretty dumb grin was plastered on her face. “That was amazing! Did you see that? The thingy just exploded into ash!” That hadn’t really been an explosion, but Nami knew better than to argue that point. After reaping her prize, as the ash that definitely wasn’t her problem began to spread through the island, she descended back where the humans, their digimons and goblinoids had assembled. As she did so, her body began to progressively shrink back to being the kitty that everyone knew and loved. “Success. We took care of the problem.” Her monotone would’ve been quite jarring if it weren’t for the fact that everyone was probably used to it by now. “The island’s free. You better clean it up.” Nami was promptly joined by her sister, who had also devolved as well “We did it! The twin heroines of the storm emerged victorious once again!” She then gave a look at the humans and their partners. They definitely looked worse for the wear. “Gonna stay here? We can probably give y’all a lift somewhere if needed!” Whether the offer was taken or not, the felines would bid their farewells and promptly leave this island, probably never to return! This place was definitely a tad too weird for them.

"Uhh... yeah..." Haru stood there slack-jawed for a while, snapping out of it when the two reverted back to their kitty forms and offered them a ride back. "So... you two are... pretty strong, aren't you?" She looked down to Gabumon and asked. "So is that like... a normal thing?" But Gabumon shook his head.
"D-Digimon don't often get as strong as Ancient Volcamon," He commented. "Let alone as strong as..."
"Once I recover, give me a week to train. Then I'll get there..." Gaomon blatantly lied. Then, after a pause, he added. "Well, maybe a month or two. Three at best."
And after all the tension was over, Natsu felt her legs give way beneath her, only for Haru to have picked up the slack and held her up. "I guess... that means it's finally over?"
"Yes." Shamamon said, standing over the unconscious Ogremon. He respectfully bowed his head towards Mana and Nami and said, "Thank you for saving island." Then to the girls and their dogs. "And... thank you for trying..." He looked over towards where Mt. Inu-Inu used to be. But it got destroyed entirely when Ancient Volcamon broke out. "Shamamon would offer you place to stay for night but... house used to be there. Also, pretty sure Shamamon don't have job anymore. But if kitties and filthy humans and dogs visit later, will bake you all food! Promise!"
And that was the time to leave! "Well... It's okay, I guess..." Haru nervously chuckled. "It's probably best if we get back to our own world..." She turned towards Mana and Nami. "I don't suppose you can give us a ride to the nearest Trailmon station, could you?"
And with that, the adventure was over. Haru and Natsu found some cool new powers, none of which even comparing to the display of powers they witnessed. But... the future looked to be pretty interesting. Maybe... Gabumon and Gaomon could do that one day? That would be pretty neat...

Were the events that had transpired really that surprising? Mana herself wondered that for some idle seconds before deciding it was probably not a worthy expenditure of brainpower. “Yep! The Twin Heroines of the Storm are amongst the most powerful digimons of this land, and you better not forget it!” A satisfied, almost cocky grin was plastered on the cat’s face. It wasn’t hard to guess the cat liked bragging, at least in situations like this one. It was nice that the whole deal had winded down by quite a bit. Oddly, and despite the amount of ashes that’d probably be a nuisance for a decent deal of time to anyone inhabiting this island. “At the very least you can focus less on trying to appease that asshole and more on making this island a cozier place that doesn’t put your life at risk immediately if you’re a dog. I wouldn’t mind it at all if I got a statue or something, either!” It was only natural that the savior got its just reward, right? Not megalomaniacal at all. “Impatience. Can we go? I need to get to work.” In any case, the girls had agreed to Mana’s proposal, which also meant that both kitties had to evolve to Angewomon X again in order to lift them up. None of their forms were precisely rideable, but at least each angel could carry two beings within their arms, and humans plus doges thankfully amounted to just that number. It’d be a fairly quick trip to the next Trailmon terminal, all things considered. All’s well that ends well.
