Clayton stood on a rather large hill the sun shining directly overhead nothing around him but the sound of the wind and his own breath, he stood there holding his digivice to his chest letting out steady breaths, in and out and focused his mind. 'Clay me boy, what do you hear?' A voice in his own head asked him, it was the water spirit he had gotten recently CaptainHookmon, Clayton figured he'd never get used to the digimon talking in his head but here he was having to deal with it.
"It's faint but I hear something, like another voice." Clayton held his eyes closed as he listened closely to what was trying to talk to him, in any other circumstance he would've figured he had gone mad but in this instance it was actually something.
'Wielder of spirits, come. Find me.' The voice simply said, as it finished Clayton felt a strong impulse ahead of himself, as if something or someone was trying to pull him in a certain direction. Staring at the direction he felt tugged towards he took an absentminded step forward before the Captain snapped him out of it.
'Clayton! Snap out of it!' the spirit yelled pulling Clayton from his trance, shaking his head feeling a bit lightheaded after hearing that spirit. 'That lads influence on you is strong huh? You sure you're up to the task?' Right now the Captain was starting to sound a bit worried about the kid, after all he still needed Clayton for his own mission.
"Maybe I'm not, but I have to at least try. Alright Captain lets do this!" With that Clayton started rushing towards the north following the spirits influence, part of him wished he brought Zu along with him but last he remembered it was supposed to be a one on one fight, he could win alone he's sure of it.
Even as he ran forward Clayton could still hear the spirit calling out to a wielder of spirits, it would make sense the spirit didn't know his name but that left a question lingering in Clayton's mind, could another spirit tamer hear it?

'Wielder of spirits, come. Find me.
For some, that was all the convincing that was needed. Specifically, for one- or perhaps two, even three (depending how one was counting). It was not strange for Diego to feel compelled by a foreign entity to go somewhere, do something; what would be unusual, if it were ever to happen, is if one of these events ended in his favor.
Perhaps it wasn't right to be quite that bitter about it, however, so Diego had begun to believe. No, the last incident was unfortunate, but did it end badly? He made a new friend of a neighbor he hadn't really spoken to before. That was something. But much more personal, things had been quiet ever since Lekismon took hold of him. That was an adjective the boy hadn't been able to use for years now. Maybe it's because they have each other now. Diego had feared the voices would only get worse now that he was host to two of them, but in fact they were so happy to gab with each other that they had started leaving him alone. The boy could concentrate on complicated tasks again, pay attention to a complete conversation, and complete his JSL homework without getting a massive headache. It turned out he was getting good at it!
Then this one came. Just before Diego had last blinked, he was in that very same JSL class, taking diligent notes in unusually legible handwriting. When he opened his eyes next, he was not in a classroom but outside, with the sun in a completely different position, and clouds that were not only silver and grey but came in all colors of the rainbow. It didn't take a genius to put together what had happened. "I can't cut class!" Diego whined at nobody anyone could see, "My parents said they'd ground me next time!"
I tried to stop her, D, a girl's voice innocently defended herself, She's just stronger than me.
I would never break my word to leave your mind to its rightful owner, a slightly more mature version of the same voice posited, I was myself being compelled.
"Like last time?" Diego's jaw dropped. His shoulders slumped. His throat tightened. "Oh, boy..." Nevertheless, he knew there was no way home. Even odder, he knew exactly where he had to go from here with no apparent explanation. All that was left for him, then, was to start hoofing it.

Clayton looked up towards the sun, holding his hand over his head to make sure it didn't blind him, as he did though a though crossed the young spirit tamers mind for a moment. "Man, time in your world is way too odd Captain." Clayton mentioned to his spirit as he made his way forward.
'To me it be your world that's topside over, put those thoughts aside boy and focus on the task in front of yee.' The spirit reminded, Clayton rubbed the back of his head sighing.
"I know, I know. Just trying to calm my nerves before this you know?" It was pretty taxing on the young spirit tamer, especially with this darn thing in his brain tugging him along. As the teen ran forward he slowly pulled out his D-tector from his pocket, glancing down at it seeing the water spirit on the screen, it was best to be ready for this as soon as possible.
Eventually though as he got closer to the spirit the influence grew, till Clayton was upon the spirit at the very bottom of a rather large hill looking up to see the totem floating in mid air as it had all the other times Clayton had fought it.
'Human, So you've come at last.' the voice echoed through Clayton's mind, it was quite annoying to hear it so close by echoing throughout the hills. '...I sense another, I thought myself clear this is a task you must undergo alone!' The spirit shouted as a strong wind suddenly kicked up, the totem itself glowing, emanating more and more power as it slowly rose into the air.
"What are you talking about! I came alone, not even Zu is with my now!" Clayton argued back with his D-tector in his hands getting ready for what he knew was about to come next, not at all knowing about the other Spirit user making their way towards this point.

By contrast, while Clayton stood at the base of this hill, a younger boy approached his position from the crest. With the sun at his back (thank God it was only one sun this time; who knew, with the digital world?), the thirteen-year-old Latino boy, still in his school uniform, had a clear view of the goings on ahead of him. He certainly recognized what a spirit totem looked like, and so his steps slowed and became cautious at the sight of it. That might have been hard to tell, though, seeing as the gravity of the steep hill seemed to be driving him onward, almost as if the totem itself was sucking him in.
It did ease the boy's anxiety that another apparent human was present, but not by much. Going by the other boy's appearance, Diego called out to the stranger in two different languages just to be sure. "Nē, ittai nani ga koko de okotte iru nodesu ka?" was followed by, "What's going on there?" neither sentence flowing quite perfectly from his mouth.

Clayton heard someone from above him, asking what was going on. Glancing up he saw what seemed to be a rather young boy stepping down towards the totem. "Huh? Who're yo. Wait no err spirit you got it all wrong he's not with m-" Apparently his so called spirit guardian didn't seem to care at this point, rising winds gathering near the base of the spirit forming quickly around. Clayton got his D-tector out with a shaky raise of his hand. "Er, name's Clayton. As for what's going on here." Clayton responded in Japanese hoping they understood him well enough, sadly the author is lazy and google translate is being a jerk.
As Clayton said that the spirit seemed to form together, power swelling up at the source before condensing into a solid form. Taking on the form of a translucent Yaksamon, nearly see through at the right angles against the sun. It was the so called spirit trial Clayton had tried and failed multiple times, a fight against what would be his own power. Trial of the sword. "I might've accidentally dragged you into a fight?" Clayton answered backing up a bit, looking a bit worried.
"You have broken the rules of engagement, this is a fight I shall not let pass!" Well he didn't seem to be in a very understanding mood at the moment.
"I'm sorry to ask but could you give me a hand?" All the confidence Clayton had for this fight had quickly flown out the window now that he was in it. Asking a stranger, one younger then him at that, really felt like a kick to the pride but what else could he do, Clayton really didn't want to get his butt whipped by a pissed off spirit

It's a spirit! exclaimed the younger, higher-pitched female voice within Diego's mind. It wasn't the boy's (or the 'group's') first spirit, although the apparent mix-up was a new one for him. Every prior time the boy had found himself inexplicably drawn in the direction of a long-passed digimon spirit, it was because it was a fragment of the one linked with his D-tector. But this time? It's not familiar, noted the slightly older, lower-pitched presence. It's not... me. So it won't be mad when D kicks their butt, right?
Doing his best to tune out their conversation, Diego stomped one foot - his way of helping himself stay 'grounded' and focused on what was in front of him. Only, in this case, the motion served a dual purpose as an act of defiance and standing his ground. He still wasn't well-accustomed to trouble, but for once this was a fight the boy knew he could walk away from - but also knew that he shouldn't. However, whyever he got here, now here was a someone who needed his help. This time, Diego was not a child in need of saving. He was the one who could step up for someone else. "I won't leave you." All of a sudden, the boy's Japanese pronunciation had become competent and confident. Diego, my power is yours now. Use it as you see fit. And so, for the first time in memory, Diego voluntarily drew his D-Tector from his pocket and brandished it like a weapon. "Execute-!" The boy appeared to interrupt the process by touching his free hand to his forehead, but when a holographic ring of data appeared around his five fingers it became clear this was in fact part of the process. When that second hand came to rest on top of the digivice, the two objects both sparked and began to physically interact. "-spirit evolution!" When the boy threw his arms back and turned his eyes to the sky, it was for once peaceful as he allowed the transformation to take place. His body was encased in a white silhouette as he grew taller, for one - about six-and-a-half feet tall - and his ears began to grow out longer. Tentacle-like limbs burst out his back. His legs became thick and muscular, he grew claws, and frills jutted from all over his body. That was all one could tell until the process had completed. It was still Diego's voice that announced itself as, "Lekismon!" After he hopped in front of Clayton protectively, he briefly examined his new hands and body, for these ones were new to him. So was this level of a digimon's power. "That feels... this feels good!"

Clay felt pretty bad about dragging them into this, though once he saw them stomp his foot standing his ground Clayton smiled a bit figuring that meant he wasn't about to turn tail and run. "Alright then, I don't know you but I'm counting on ya!" The best way to make friends after all was during a fight after all right? That's how all those shows Clay watched usually went.
Figuring he shouldn't let them do all the work Clayton spun the D-tector in his hand for a moment. "Alright, lets do this Captain!" Clayton held his hand out letting a ring of data swirl around his hand for a moment rasing it up high and his digivice down low before throwing them in the middle between his chest. "Execute!" As Clayton did so a massive symbol appeared below him and on the digivice looking akin to a Pirates Jolly Roger, skull and cross bones. "Spirit evolution!" Though as Clayton slashed his hand against the digivice the field of data faded, the spirit he was trying to use instantly burst and shattered under his feet. "Huh? Why didn't it. Captain?"
'I don't know Clay my boy, For some reason I cannot seem to enter your body!' the captain shouted in his head, Clayton looked down at his D-tector and back up at the translucent digimon.
The digimon in question (Who seemed to be waiting very patiently for all their fancy transformations to end.) Simply had his arms crossed shaking his head. "The trial of the blade, the spirit of the sword cannot be simply destroyed by such methods. You must draw your blade and fight!" As he said that the digimon drew the two swords he had cutting the wind itself in front of him sending a gust blowing forward, thankfully Deigo was standing in front of Clayton so he wouldn't get swept off his feet.
Clay was definitely shocked, the spirit could stop him from transforming? Well that bit his idea to use CaptainHookmon instead right in the butt. "Sorry, I don't think I'll be able to help, the only other spirit I have isn't strong enough. Hopefully that good feeling lasts..." All this spirit stuff was just too complicated for the teen.
Though it would seem the Yaksamon was standing with his sword drawn, staring at the Lekismon. Seemed like they were going to give Deigo the first move.

The first move wasn't much of a first move. It wasn't much of a move at all, really. As far as the average observer could tell, all Diego/Lekismon really did was square off with the Yaksamon. He doesn't look so tough. As he prepared himself for battle, the moons all over Lekismon's body began to faintly glow. They seemed to act as a visual indicator that this digimon was alert and focused. Diego narrowed his new, sharper eyes at the Yaksamon and sized the stranger up carefully, cautiously strafing around the dangerous-looking foe. Not if Lekismon's lending her power. Diego continued to cautiously circle, keeping a healthy distance between himself and the fighter. This is your spirit, right? Any advice on on how to beat it?
It was at this point Clayton might have realized the intrusive thoughts he was now experiencing weren't some accidental telepathic connection; Diego was consciously contacting and speaking to the older human without even opening his mouth. It seemed the boy was hesitant to make a meaningful first strike until he knew his opponent better, going by his stubborn refusal to make any sudden moves. Step. Step. If he was trying to make the Yaksamon dizzy, he was never going to do it by circling at this speed. Was he nervous? Scared? Did some moral belief prevent him from drawing first blood? It seemed foolish, really, amateurish. The boy had a competent-looking guard up, but he was mysteriously refusing to take control of the encounter and make a sudden move, even with this new power he supposedly loved so much.
In reality, the first move was already made. Yaksamon and Clayton were both at risk of suffering its effect if they were looking at Diego just now. The glowing moons, in fact, were not just for show nor a symbol for much of anything. They were weapons unto themselves. A good nap would be nice right about now would have been a reasonable thought in the head of anybody looking upon the Lekismon; he was softening Yaksamon up first by impairing his senses. How the symptoms would manifest in the opposing spirit was hard to predict, but more than anything the spirit of Yaksamon might have wanted to return to a peaceful rest right about then. Done right, Diego was going to get to enter this fight with a distinct advantage. Diego used Supersomnia. -Supersomnia: All of the moons on Lekismon's body start to glow. Opponents who look at her during this state start to feel incredibly drowsy to the point where their aim may be impaired, their reaction time may be slowed, their body may feel heavy and lethargic, and/or other usual symptoms associated with sleep deprivation. The moons glow for three posts. Cooldown: 2 posts.
Lekismon's moons continue to hypnotically glow.

Yaksamon stared at Diego, masked eyes never moving from their fixed point on him. The expressionless mask barely moving. It seemed to realize that Diego wasn't going to make the first move, they seemed to be sizing the digimon up for a moment. Head barely moving to look at the Lekismon side stepping around as he held his blades down at his side.
Meanwhile Clayton was a bit confused on the new voice in his head, thankfully he was used to voices in his head by now thanks to the Captain but hearing the same kid he just saw transform into that digimon took a moment to compose himself. "Yeah he's mine, I've fought with them a few times. They seem to specialize in close range, don't let him get too close and you should be mostly fine, he does have one ranged move though just a slash in the air but it'll go through your attack if you throw one at him." Clayton made sure he wasn't talking too loudly, he didn't want the spirit to hear. Truthfully though this was probably the best move Diego could do, stay outside of the range of his swords.
Clay wouldn't notice it due to him not looking away from the Yaksamon but the spirit that was doing nothing but stare at Diego would start to feel it, despite the mask never moving or emoting his head seemed to shake for a moment, trying to regain his focus for a second as the spirit felt the want to just fall back into his slumber as he had done so before. However looking at Clayton again let him stay focused even if he seemed to be a bit more wobbly on his feet at the moment.
Deciding to at least make a move finally the Yaksamon started to dash forward towards the Lekismon, not aiming to attack it would seem for now but to use this time to get closer. However it was pretty clear he wasn't moving to the best of his abilities, even his initial dash took a second as his reaction time seemed to of been slowed down, nevertheless he aimed to get in closer.

Keep out of range, huh? Diego considered. Perfect. Unlike the Yakasmon, the Lekismon was unencumbered and fully alert. A few long hops back by the agile bunny looked like enough in Diego's opinion to stay securely out of range, at least for the moment. The boy even let himself get a bit cocky about it. Lekismon is happy to keep back and let the opponent defeat himself.
The rabbit's moon symbols continued to glow and induce drowsiness upon his enemy, but there it was time to quit being passive. The tentacles on Lekismon's back slowly began to glow faintly, then came alive. Like snakes, they each coiled, rose up a ways, and reared back as if to strike. When they did, they struck simultaneously; they lengthened and stretched as long as they needed to in order to wrap around the warrior's arms, his legs, his torso, and even his neck. The ghostly tentacles wasted no time: they mercilessly squeezed Yaksamon like a boa constrictor, meaning to injure through crushing force and strangulation.
Or, rather, that would be Yaksamon's experience alone. Clayton would witness no such thing, for in reality Lekismon's tentacles simply hung behind him, far away from Yaksamon. But if the illusion was sufficiently strong, Yaksamon's mind sufficiently open, this attack would be just as effective as any physical force. Lekismon's illusions were difficult to disbelieve indeed, but not impossible. Diego knew that if Yaksamon was wily and canny enough, this method of attack could be seen through, which was problematic. But the mind was a soft target in almost all opponents, leaving the boy in digimon's clothing optimistically smirking.
Diego used Phantom Constrict! -Lekismon's tentacles take on a ghostly appearance and seem to stretch and wrap around opponents, at which point they begin to squeeze very, very hard. This deals major mental damage (not physical damage for the sake of other abilities). Cooldown: 3 posts.

Well it seems they were pretty confident about being able to stay out of the spirits range, bouncing backwards away from the digimon approaching. Clayton decided to stay where he was and try to watch the battle from afar. Maybe he could see something that could help Diego get an advantage or even still try and learn a bit more on how the spirit fights, never a bad time for a learning experience after all. " Just try and stay safe, wouldn't want you getting hurt at my expense." It did hurt Clayton's pride a tiny bit to be on the back leg like this but there wasn't much he could do. The Yaksamon kept approaching, dashing forward to try and make up some of the distance between the two of them, though once the tentacles on his back rose and reeled back he paused for a moment, a shorter distance between them but still one all the same. Reaching forward stretching over to him and wrapping around his arms, legs and even his torso, squeezing tightly around the digimon. This didn't seem to elicit much reaction out of the digimon, aside from a pained groan that seemed to show it was somewhat working. Clayton though looked a bit confused, which would prove to be Diego's downfall in this for now. Taking some damage from it the Yaksamon looked around for a way to get out of this situation, though as he did his eyes landed on the confused face of Clayton looking back and forward between the two. To the teenager they were just standing there without any hint or knowledge of what was going on he had to be questioning what was going on, which in turn started turning the thoughts in Yaksamon's head, eventually attempting with force to move his hand finding the grip tight, but the more he questioned the attack and focused on the pain he felt the pain less in the spots grabbed but more overall, like his whole body, no his whole core was being affected. The inner workings of his digital core not the body itself! Looking up at Diego Yaksamon raised his hand up high, seemingly breaking the illusion as he put the pieces together letting the attack fade from his body, though damage had been done it was pretty clear given it took him a moment to see through. With that raised sword high in the sky he quickly smashed it downward towards the ground with such force that it would blast the air itself towards Diego, flying with such force and at such a high speed. Should he try to counter it with his own projectile it would be as Clayton said, it would simply fly though it as if it was nothing and continue towards its target.
Yaksamon C.A: It takes a moment but thanks to Clayton's confusion and his focus on the type of damage itself Yaksamon manages to break the illusion and fire back with an Air shot, but damage has been done.
Move used: (Air Shot): Clayton swings his blade downward with such force that it cuts the air itself and sends a fast wave of air towards the opponent smashing into them with a great amount of force. Beats out any projectile it goes through except pierce or OPT. 3 post cool down.

It was almost immediately clear after Clayton expressed concern for Diego-Lekismon's safety that he would not be getting what he wanted, that being Diego avoiding harm. Inadvertently, Clayton helped Yaksamon break free of the illusion a half-second earlier than predicted. Diego mistimed his next backhop, leaving him in the air when an airburst threw itself at him. He never had a chance. "Kyah-!" But Diego was nothing if not a fighter. Trained at a low level of jiu-jitsu, he already knew how to use the momentum that would have sent him falling onto his back. Instead he threw himself backward into the direction of the fall, flipped upside-down, skidded in the dirt a distance using his claws as brakes, and came to a gradual stop with his feet beneath him.
¡Mierda, that hurt!
Language, D.
His mouth is not his biggest problem now, Psychemon!
¡Callense, por favor! I need to focus. Repelling, or at least punishing, a close-range attacker should have been easy in this body. The complication? Crossfire. Once more, he reached out to Clayton. You need to run as far away as you can, he instructed. In addition to trying to create distance with Yaksamon, Diego's backhops were now also trying to get himself farther from Clayton. Unfortunately, it seemed Yaksamon had momentum on his side just now after that attack. He feared he was losing the race. And don't look at me! he reminded Clayton, meaning to ward him off the effect of Supersomnia.
"Stay away!" If the pain of that wind attack had given Diego momentary pause, would it have the same effect on Yaksamon? The boy reared back and began to wail in agony... to a point that seemed disproportional to the damage he'd taken. He had a hell of a lung capacity to go along with it, for this yell was prolonged over many seconds. Over time, his voice adopted a sort of echoing, ghostly quality to it; the sound seemed to bounce off the air itself and constantly reflect right back at Yaksamon specifically. Lekismon was sharing with Yaksamon just how much he had been hurt - and if Yaksamon's will wavered, he himself would feel the very same injury he had just inflicted. Diego was struck true by Air Shot.Diego attacked Yaksamon with Misery Gift. -Misery Gift: Lekismon makes an opponent take all of the damage she took in this post by infiltrating opponents' minds and sharing her pain with them (Lekismon still takes the damage, too). Cooldown: 3 posts. -Psychic Specialist (passive): Lekismon has honed her mental skills to a very high level at the cost of such being the only thing she's great at in combat. Her abilities are all slightly harder to resist (functioning like a small accuracy boost), and they are completely unaffected by opposing abilities which specifically resist or immunize mental effects.

What just happened? Clayton was a bit confused as they seemed to break away from whatever Deigo had been doing to the Yaksamon and managed to land a blow on them. Clayton didn't know exactly what had happened but considering the spirit had looked at the teen before he broke free Clay slightly assumed it might've been his fault somewhat. Before he could ask if Deigo was ok Clayton felt something in his mind, thankfully he was used to voices in his head by now so with a simple nod Clayton booked it as far as he could, over a hill and back down creating as much distance as he could within the short time. One that wasn't keep on making distance away though was the champion level spirit, who only seemed to get faster the moment he saw the Lekismon try and run away again. Dragging his two swords against the ground as he chased after the digimon. However the sudden scream seemed to give the digimon some small pause for a moment, a powerful yell that echoed throughout the entire area or so it felt. Not one to be deterred though Yaksamon ran towards the noise, holding his blades up as he charged in. However as he did get closer and closer to the center of the source, that being Lekismon. Slowly his will power seemed to waver slightly, more and more the closer he came to meeting them in the middle. Till in front of his opponent he caught the glimpse of an etherial swordsman, it appeared to be another Yaksamon which caused him to pause in slight confusion. Lifting their own sword up the copy would fire the same attack he had just done before. The spirit would find that oddly he was not able to move or dodge the attack, his legs would not move and his body remained center taking on the full brunt of the attack causing him to stumble slightly. However, he quickly snapped back into focus on the situation at hand, what had just happened had seemed to take place in his own mind. He was still charging at the Lekismon with his blades still ready. Taking a step forward and leaping to close the gap Yaksamon would spin around and slash at Deigo with his left sword before landing and using that momentum to deliver a more powerful and forceful slash with his right sword aiming to send the digimon into the ground instead. However the damage and pause he experienced and pain that was now searing through his chest didn't do nothing, no in fact it even gave him slight pause before he attacked, the first slash would be harder to avoid thanks to him covering distance with his jump but the second one? That would be noticeably slower, a more agile opponent could take advantage of that small pause his wounds gave him.
Yaksamon C.A: Takes the damage from Misery Gift, is noticeably starting to slow down a bit being worn down a decent amount by the long ranged attacks but is still attacking with his own moves.
