"My brother and I have been pretty much everywhere in the Digital World, so I know a bunch of other great cities to go to," Speed said. "My personal favorite city is Ys. It's a very pretty kingdom with lots of colorful crystals and a pretty cute looking king, too. They held an event earlier this year called the Lux Harmony Festival, and it was a ton of fun!" It would be clear that Speed was also an energetic sociable Digimon, as well.
Could someone topple the ElDoradimon empire like that? "Hm... I never really gave it that much thought, personally. Once we learned about their human hating ways we just kinda avoided ElDoradimon like it was the digi-plague. We weren't human lovers at the time, mind you, we just didn't think that all humans really deserved that kind of treatment. Otherwise, we'd be no better than the Digimon who harassed us back at the Village of Beginnings."
Speed and Akane both glanced at Mistral when she said her piece on ElDoradimon. "Yo, humans aren't like that at all. They're just like us, minus the superpowers. They have feelings and thoughts just like us, even if they're bonded to a Digimon or can become one. Some of them can even be pretty cool, actually..."
Eating looks and brains? "Do we look like rotting zombies to you?" Akane asked with a slight smirk, and her tone implying that she was merely joking.
"I prefer eating supreme pizza with extra cheese, anyways," Speed stated, putting his hands behind his back. He glanced over at Thog who was eating burgers like potato chips. "Thog, right? Mind if I have a burger please? You seem to have plenty of them."
On the topic of Psych... it seemed like no one there had any leads on him. It figured, Speed didn't have his hopes up or anything, but he was still disappointed. Mistral said she could keep her feelers out into the wind for him, though she did mention that it doesn't know what purple is. "If the wind can feel a human nearby that Flamedramon, then that's more than likely him. Thank you, I really appreciate it."
Mana stated that she and Nami were tracking a very elusive Digimon, and asked if the others wanted to tag along after food. Speed and Akane looked at each other before Akane gave their answer. "Why not? Maybe we could help out in some way. Do you know what Digimon it is?"

Surprisingly, Eldoradimon seemed like a fairly hot topic in this impromptu reunion. Somewhat fascinating considering that, interestingly enough, there were no humans present at the moment. Being a witness of the conversation thus far, Nami seized a rare opportunity to speak. “Confusion. I don’t see why changing Eldoradimon’s regime is a worthwhile thing to do. Sure, their policies might be outdated, but don’t they mostly keep to themselves? A human ending there isn’t going to have a good time, but there’s pretty much no chance for them to get there in the first place unless they seek the place on their own.” If anything, she’d label the place as something of little concern, considering how elusive the humongous digimon was in the first place. “Opinion. I believe the average patch of wilderness should be more dangerous in a more real way to the average human.” But, of course, that also came with the fact that the hairless Monmons could hardly defend themselves. Nami, on the other hand, seemed a lot more interested in the matter, especially in the part about overthrowing slash blowing the place up. “That’d be quite the sight! I’d love to be there if that ever happens, but I don’t know how scouring a city clean could teach anyone anything about tolerance, if anything, they’ll probably feel like their sentiments towards humans were justified! Then again…” She grinned from ear to ear. “If violence is not the answer to any given problem, it’s probably because not enough was applied.” Other than that, neither Meicoomon was too thrilled at the conversation about cities; places were as boring as they came, and most of the time they weren’t even worth the while. Food, on the other hand, was a topic she could do. Especially when it comes to savory foods! “It’s all in the preparation.” She mentioned to Gihai. “Any food can make you sick if the person preparing it has subpar talent! The mere fact of flirting with danger already enhances the flavor tenfold, you know? At least that’s what the person in this book said.” The feline reached into a particularly thick patch of fur by her shoulder and brought what looked like a Human World cookbook. She browsed its pages until she arrived on one, then showed it to the Guilmon; it was titled ‘Fugu’. “See? Humans see this thing as a delicacy, even though it’s super poisonous and there’s no known antidote to it!” By now, the excitement in the cat’s voice was fairly obvious. “Humans are usually fairly boring, but I can respect some of their views, like this one!” Ultimately, Mana ended up shrugging at Akane. “Not having a permanent residence also means you become less of a picky eater over time. As long as it gives me sustenance, chances are it’s less effort to eat it now and focus on more important things, like continuing our quest!” Speaking of which! It seemed like everyone was more or less on board with the sisters’ small hunt. Even if their help wasn’t precisely needed, that was great news! In any case, Nami stepped ahead, deciding to spare everyone her sister’s grandiloquence. “Briefing. We are tracking an escaped pterosaur from the Valley of Dragons. It’s been known to be heavily destructive during daytime, but passive during daytime, which leads us to believe it’s mostly diurnal and that it’s sleeping at the moment. Their species name is…” Nami wasn’t precisely good at remembering names, but hopefully her sister was able to come to the rescue! “It’s Shoutmon X3GM. They’re pretty rare, and pretty dangerous! Chances are it’s sleeping in a nearby cave or something, though. We should check those first.” Did they have an adventure within their hands? It surely seemed like it!

Mistral had sort of landed on a point Gihai was hoping would be breached at some point. "Yeah, what I know of it is that the dogmatic...views stem from fear. They hate humans because they fear what they can achieve--after all, if you were able to breach the power of gods with the help of an alien, would you be afraid of their existence? Hypothetically, obviously, but..." Gihai trailed off. "Maybe change is coming. Slowly, but surely." Would she be the herald of it?
Nah.
Not her horse. "Not just humans--outsiders in general. It's a complex issue, Mana-chan."
The Lux Harmony festival, however? Huh. Smaller world than she had imagined. "I was actually there when that was going on! Uh. I made a few friends, a Jazamon kept calling me smoothbrained and I finally digivolved to Rookie there." These were all true events that the author wrote for the sake of fake site money, to note. Are they going to link that? No, that's just dumb.
"...How do you flirt with danger...?" Gihai mused, her idiocy quickly overtaking whatever eloquence she may have held for the issue of ElDoradimon. "That looks neat, though. I'll ask Aya and Coolmon about it whenever I see them."
The Digimon that was being pursued was completely foreign to Gihai, but... "...I know a Shoutmon, I don't think they've got any suffixes like X3GM or anything, he's just a black one. And certainly no Pterosaur...Still, I'm willing to help out. Caves..."
Did she see any nearby?

Everyone started talking about traveling and all that other boring stuff. At least, boring stuff to Mistral. Everywhere was all kind of the same if you really thought about it. Some places you had to wear a blanket when you slept, some days you had to lie in front of a fan where you slept. That's all there really was to it.
As for flirting with danger, well... Mistral had the answer to that. But she was gonna lie about it, anyways. "Danger is a very inconsistent chef who likes to prepare dangerous foods. He's incredibly lonely, though, since he poisons a lot of his friends by accident, so flirting with him makes him really distracted and makes him accidentally prepare dangerous foods."
"Shoutmon X3GM..." Mistral repeated, as if the name meant anything to her. She looked up at the starry sky in thought. "Didn't we meet that Digimon before...?"
"Buh." Buddy corrected.
Buddy raised a good point. "That's right. That was Shoutmon X3SD. Totally different Digimon..." Mistral shrugged. She closed her eyes, sending out faint lines of light around her, getting a feel for her surroundings. "I can sense three lizards, three felines, a big bunny, a big dog, and four ninjas... no, wait... those are bushes. So... I'll need to get closer to sense one on my end." Super helpful talent, guys. I swear.
Meanwhile, Speed had the gall to ask Thog for food. The Angoramon stared at the Flamedramon OC as if he had just asked for Thog's firstborn. But after pondering for a second, the large bunny reached into a pocket of fur, and held out a surprisingly still-steaming burger. He brushed off little patches of fur, and handed it towards him. "Everybody gets one in life. This is yours. Don't waste it." And after saying eleven more words that he would have preferred, he rubbed his throat, then took another big bite of his own meal.
Yepyep. This group sure is contributing a whole bunch, ain't they?

"Because it's not worth changing anything there," Speed responded to Nami. "You're right that they do keep to themselves and the only way a human could get there is if they actively tried to get there. No one likes being punished simply for their beliefs. All we can do is see if they change on their own merit, or if their way of life spreads to the rest of the Digital World. And if it does... then hopefully not the violent side of that way of life. Like I said, humans can be pretty cool sometimes. They don't deserve the hatred."
“If violence is not the answer to any given problem, it’s probably because not enough was applied.” Akane sighed. "You sound like my ex-husband. ExVeemon was always the type to attack first and ask questions later. Don't know what I ever saw in that douchebag..."
Oh, so Gihai went to the Lux Harmony Festival too? It truly was a small world! "Speed and I met a pair of Hackmon twins and their mother who were all really nice, and my brother and I helped to catch this crazy sugar-high Digimon that was running all over the place."
The topic of food came up next, with Mana saying that it was all in the preparation. She said that flirting with danger increases the flavor tenfold, before pulling out what appeared to be a human world cookbook. She opened it up to a page about Fugu, which was a Japanese pufferfish dish that could kill a person if not prepared by a professional. "Eh, I've had it before. It's honestly pretty bland. Not worth the hype, if you ask me."
"Flirting with danger is just an expression, Gihai," Akane responded to the green Guilmon, before responding to Mana. "I can see the logic in that, but I feel like I would want to know what exactly the food is before I put it in my mouth." Akane swallowed as she rubbed her belly, despite the stew sounding beyond disgusting and cannibalistic... it was starting to smell good.
Oh, what's this? Thog was actually giving Speed one of his burgers? He said something about everyone only getting one in life and telling him not to waste it. "Thanks," Speed said before taking a bite. He would slowly and surely be enjoying this burger as to "not waste it," hopefully keeping in line with what Thog said.
The Digimon that Mana and Nami were hunting was a Shoutmon X3GM, a Digimon who was very destructive during daytime but passive during nighttime. "Hm... the only Shoutmon I know is the normal kind. Father of three, good guy I'd say. But this Shoutmon doesn't sound so friendly. I'll still help catch it though!"
"Checking a nearby cave sounds like a good idea," the Growlmon said. "We'd best be quiet in order to not let this Digimon be aware that we're coming."

Ominous words! Gihai was surely getting into the conversation, wasn’t she? Mana looked at her, the feline’s eyes widening ever so slightly. “Somebody told me once that dark wings brought even darker tidings! You don’t have wings, but you might have as well! Those words you just said, they don’t look like they’re meaningless to me. I doubt I’d be the protagonist to anything happening in a city I couldn’t care less about, but I hope to witness those changes, should they ever happen!” She looked at her sister briefly, and she seemed to not be nearly as passionate about this as her. That was fine. “Are you planning anything yourself, Gihai-chan? You look like you do.”
Of course, every ounce of seriousness the conversation might’ve had vanished instantly as soon as Gihai asked her next question and Mistral replied to it. Least to say, Mana guffawed at the exchange. “Mistral’s answer is definitely more entertaining than anything I could explain. I’m very tempted to keep it as it is.” The grin in her expression didn’t fade in the slightest, even after the clearer explanation. “It’s a saying! Flirting with danger means taking a risky approach to something when it isn’t needed. In this case, by eating food that might be poisonous when you can eat literally anything else. Humans love their dangerous foods despite the fact that most of them don’t care about hunting what they eat themselves! A bit ironic, if you ask me.”
On the other side of the conversation, Nami listened attentively to what Speed had to say. She seemed deep in thought for some moments before she finally responded. “Ponder. I do agree that their views are backwards with how things are at the moment, but if that’s their territory, they have the right to manage it as they see fit as long as it doesn’t intrude in other territories’ matters, right?” Oddly neutral, but it wasn’t like she could be blamed. “Conclusion. I will withhold my opinion on humans for the time being, however. Besides bits and pieces Nee-chan shares at times, I haven’t interacted with nearly enough to have formed an opinion on them. At least in my eyes, they’re a bit like digimons themselves, in the sense they have as much potential to be beneficial as they have to be harmful. Separating them individually instead of throwing them all in the same basket seems like the intelligent thing to do. I know for sure I wouldn’t like to be thrown with the feral lot if anyone formed an opinion about myself.”
Completely recovered from Gihai and Mistral’s antics, Mana gave Akane a brief look. “Oh. You’re mistaken, milady. It’s probably clear by now that I prefer to act rather than to plot, given how that’s my dear sister’s area of expertise.” For a couple of seconds, her expression grew somewhat somber. “However, I’m aware that idealism seldom triumphs over raw power, and that displaying that power physically as a means to attain and exercise authority is the most effective and old way to resolve conflicts since this world’s inception. That hasn’t changed, not even when civilizations sprang, or when the humans came. I hold no love for violence, but I am no pacifist either.”
Neither sister had much to say in regards to a festival held on Ys, or about Speed’s wants for a more traditional meal or Thog’s certainly threatening answer at it. By now, it was time for action, and action was what they would have. As the group advanced as silently as they would, the gaping opening of a stony structure revealed that, indeed, there were caves nearby, and the unlikely posse was very near the felines’ quarry. The encounter was imminent now. “The cave doesn’t seem very wide.” Mana admitted. “We probably will need somebody to aggravate the pterosaur into emerging so we can all strike. Any volunteers?” The grin on her face made it obvious that she’d do it herself if nobody else was up to the task. “Of course, if you have any suggestions for the oncoming battle, I’m all ears.”

As fascinating a conversation as this was, there was more pressing business outside of a stagnant ass city that had no real merit when it wasn't the focus of anything. "No plans as of yet, but...we'll see. Life has an odd way of ensuring your plans are set for you. I dislike it, but it's how it is sometimes. I met a lot of people along the way, especially at the festival."
Seemed as if that was that for the conversation, though. Things shifted to tracking down the pterosaurshoutmon thing. Gihai leveled a blank stare to Mistral as her detection was...actually neat but also a bit on the obvious side. "...Noted, gonna keep that in mind in the future." She spoke towards Akane! Then they seemed to be off!
Gihai did her damnedest to stay quiet for the most part, but on Mana's admittance? "...We could either send someone to make a lot of noise to accomplish that purpose, or...we could try seeing if we could cause a cave-in? If it breaks out it breaks out but last I checked, rocks do hurt a ton..."

Campfire Stories
The time for talkie-talking was finally over, and it was finally time for action.
...Or at least planning for action. Which was really just more talkie-talk. But it was okay. It was more practical information than small-talking about the places that everyone had visited or whatever. Mistral's tail twitched in excitement. She felt like stretching her muscles a bit. She'd run right into the cave, claw whatever sleeping bastard happened to be in there straight in the face, then run off while easily avoiding all the enemy's blows. It would be easy-peasy.
...But on the other hand, it was also in deep dark cave, and she didn't want to get all dirty and stuff. Plus if the enemy used a big loud attack inside the cave she'd be hearing it for weeks on end. She hated loud fights in confined areas. It truly was such a pain being so awesome.
"We could send the quick person in there and punch the ShoutmonXfinitywifi or whatever in its throat. That'll probably get it riled up enough to chase after him. Then everyone can hammer it with... hammers, or whatever it is you guys do."
Gihai offered the idea of just leveling the whole cave, and it certainly was an appetizing one. "It could work, but if we start destroying the area, then some do-gooder Digimon or tamer or whatever might jump in and try to stop us. And that would be a pain. If we're here to hunt and murder a complete stranger, then we'd best do it quietly."
"Honey..." Thog, who had been quiet until now, suddenly blurted out without the slightest bit of context. Meanwhile, Mistral nodded as if she completely understood.
"I suppose that'd work as well," She stated. "We could also use some delicious bait to lure them out here," She gestured to the Komondomon travling with them. "We could ask our cook to fire up the grill, and whip up some nice-smelling grub in about as much time as it would take... for me to finish this sentence."

The time to strike was near! Mana pondered the plans provided by the ladies and gentlemon, an expression of deep thought flashing across her face. And then, when she opened her mouth to speak.
“Decision. Luring our prey outside with food seems like the smartest idea. Thanks for your input, Thog.” Nami had just interrupted her moment! It wasn’t the first nor the last time something like that would happen, yet the mortified look on the older Meicoo’s face was still there.
“That’s a good idea, yeah.” Interruptions managed to injure somewhat her usually grandiose tone, that wasn’t a surprise! “Anyone volunteers to bring the food near the cave’s entrance or inside it once it’s done? It’s essentially playing bait, but it’s also the most important role!” The recovery didn’t wait, forever.
Mana looked intently at the group, her expression growing grim and serious. “You’ll behold the maws of the beast head-on but fear not! Doing so will be ultimately harmless and result in the greater glory of the group.”
She’d gaze around, and see if anyone offered to play that role. In case they didn’t, she’d just do it herself. The show was about to start!
