“Really, you brought us here of all places. Disgusting...”
For once, Tomiko wasn’t far from the truth with her copious amounts of complaints. They had arrived at the very edge of a marshy swampland. A disgustingly stinky bog of mud and what seemed like a large stagnant body of water.
“You better know what you’re doing,” she said, jumping on a large flat stone to avoid contact with the water below. “I swear to god, if you’re wrong I will dunk you into the quagmire and leave you there.” Although, it was true. Sukasimon was leading. It was almost like it was sensing something. Or maybe it was just another level of annoying ignorance, which would lead them into deeper trouble. Again.
Slowly they made their way deeper into the swampy bayou. Tomiko moving slowly from rock to rock while her partner, the ghostly Sukasimon simply floated over the swamp. Quite unperturbed by the stink or the possibility of sinking into that dark goopy water. As they went deeper, the trees that lined the edge of the bayou seemed to be growing more overgrown. Twisted, thick roots sticking in and out of the water.
“I hate all of this, I hate all of this, I hate all of this...”

Time and time again, Shizu had forgotten that there were other parts to the Digital World outside of the Dark Area. And time and time again, she had to reacquaint herself--especially after everything that happened with those...spirits. Don't wanna talk about it, really.
This excursion took her and a surprisingly newfound close friend in the form of her Monodramon ally, Monika, to the Backup Bayou. A rather loathsome place that was pretty much the scum of the earth made into a swamp. Kind of horrid, really.
With the warning that they were heading to a swamp in mind, Shizu had dressed appropriately--but it didn't really mitigate the fact there was murky water allover the place, with trees that only seemed to get bigger. "...Yo, Moni-chan?" Shizu finally piped up as the duo waded on through.
"Yes?" The Monodramon replied, seeming more focused on scanning the area in a proverbial sense. "What...exactly are we doing here?" Shizu had to force herself to be polite here, so this was about the least...nasty way to put this.
She wasn't really used to suddenly being unable to Spirit Evolve and having to rely on another, after all.
"Mostly an excursion for our own health. Deeplane is Deeplane, and we do need fresh air from time to time-...Woah! Is that a SUKASIMON?" Monika suddenly stopped and pointed at a ghostly Digimon not all that far from where the two were!
"I don't follow, what...is a Sukasimon?" Shizu stared on ahead, namely towards the human accompanying said ghostly being. "Hello, sorry to intrude, and sorry for my friend. You doing okay?"

Tomiko was growing more irritated now. Firstly, this world gave her a fairly useless partner, and ever since they had first met, everything had been going wrong. Not only had she had been attacked by monsters at every possible avenue. But, now she had been led into a disgusting, stinky swamp. “This is all your fault.” Tomiko snapped, shooting daggers at her partner. The ghostly form of her partner was able to easily cross the green and yellow water. Hovering over it with very little issue. Tomiko, however, had to find a way to cross. Which meant she had to utilize her gymnastic skills in order to reach each of the floating stepping stones. “I don’t know what I did to deserve this. But, I hate it. I hate it. I hate it!”Out of nowhere a voice emanated out from the darkness cast by the heavy tree cover overhead. Taken off guard, Tomiko turned on the spot. Lost her balance on the slippery rocks beneath her feet and fell. With an oozy splatter, she fell into the deep and very disgusting grime below. “Nope. DO. I. LOOK. OKAY?” She was now up to her waist in disgusting who-knows-what and sinking slowly into the quagmire. “I hate this!” After a second of struggling, Tomiko called. “Hey, no rush or anything... but may I ask for a little help?”
Her voice oozing with as much sarcasm as the ooze below her. She clung onto a nearby stone, attempting to use it as leverage to pull herself out. Meanwhile, Sukasimon looked on. His creepy five-mile blank staring eyes focused on the newcomers. A girl and her own partner digimon.

Gosh, golly, the people here sure were peas in a pod, right? That was sarcasm, please do not view it as...well, anything genuine. Monika's sudden outburst had caused the fellow human to end up slipping and falling, which...despite the rough exterior Shizu had gotten used to projecting over her time here?
...She had to help, come on. "I mean, you don't gotta be an ass about it." Shizu groaned as she trudged on over to help Tomiko out and to her feet. She knew sarcasm. She -was- sarcasm. "The hell made you decide to drop by a swamp, anyways?"
The usual manner that Shizu took when dealing with abrasive individuals was to adopt a similar approach until such that the abrasive demeanor was either softened or dropped. Monika knew this. The others didn't. Did it matter? Eh, debatable. The Monodramon stared at the Sukasimon, tilting her head.
Not quite as creepy as Tomiko's partner, but. A staring contest had begun. "Gosh, I think they're gonna be at it for a while at this rate..."

By the time, Tomiko had crawled her way back onto the bank with some help from the girl. She was even more irritated than usual. The lower half of her body was dripping with unidentified swamp goop, which was doing nothing to help the vein pulsing on her forehead. “I hate this place,” she muttered, shooting a look of pure venom at Sukasimon as if it was his fault. Then, she turned her head away from the odd creature who was currently midway through a staring contest with the girl’s own partner. A small dinosaur-like monster, rather different than the BlackAgumon that she had already met. It was pale purple with an elongated head, ending in almost a point. Short wing-like extensions on each arm and a short stubby body. “Dame da?” Sukasimon said, without blinking. Actually, she wasn’t even sure if it could blink. “Why am I here?”Tomiko ignored the words of her partner but stepped angrily towards him. Interrupting the staring contest and roaring so loudly, the sound emanated back to them through the thick thicket around them.
“Him! Him! Him! That thing that I call a ‘partner’ dragged me through this swamp, and now look at me. I’m drenched in who-knows-what. I don’t even know why, and I doubt that thing does either.” She pointed a menacing finger at Sukasimon and then turned back to the girl. “Better question. Who are you?"

Shizu had the slight idea that Tomiko may or may not have been dragged here against her will by something. If not Sukasimon, then...likely something more. Of course, conjecture was conjecture, and one would have to actually inquire further to get a better grasp on that.
"...Ne." Monika responded to the Sukasimon. She...didn't know how to talk to one of these, flat out. An embarrassment, admittedly. Shizu, regardless, remained silent for Tomiko's admittedly emotional outburst of an explanation. She glanced towards Sukasimon.
Partner. Most likely. A look was then canted back to Tomiko. "Amaya Shizuka--I'm a third year over at the high school in Shibuya. At least that's my occupation in the place that Isn't Here. I'd say nice to meet you, but...I get the feeling it's the opposite of that for you."
She gestured over towards Monika. "That's a Monodramon--her name's Monika. She's essentially the first friend I made over here who wasn't a gigantic fish. I can offer ya some guesses as to what might be in here, but...I don't go to the Backup Bayou often. If at all. Best bet's probably to poke around and see what you find."
There's a slight pause in Shizu's words, though. "...Also, did you ever ask them why you're here?"
