-Until you met him.-
Avery blinked and looked up at Tatsuya, her eyes softening slightly at the mention of Patch. She couldn't lie. He had a point. The fifteen-year-old let her eyes flickered back the fighting. "Yes, you're correct. My life has definitely changed since he came along. I just don't know where it's heading. But I'm sure both of your lives have changed since they came along, right?" she asked, glancing over at both boys.
Patch was falling mid-air when Babydmon's Hot Breath hit him. He rolled to the ground, landing in a four-pawed stance. He rolled to the side just as Dorimon came through with a flying tackle. He managed to dodge most of the attack, however, he felt some scraping against his back side. He found himself backed against the brick wall of the building. His amber eyes darted between the two, narrowing to slits before he grinned and waved his front paw at him signaling for them to charge once more.
If they fell for the front, he would quickly jump over them and if the timing was right, they would probably collide with each other. It would be interesting to see the two young ones get tangled up together.

"Yeah...it... changed... a lot," Ryouta replied to AJ's question. He grinned wide as he remembered all the events he've been through with his partner although it's just for a really short time. "It's... really fun. I'm happy... that he's with me."
Babydmon watches as Patch seem to taunt him now. However, he doesn't want this to be something as boring as two engaging against one no matter how fun that'll be. He turned to Ryouta, who quizzically tilted his head, questioning what his partner have in mind. However, that answered when suddenly Ryouta's Digivice let out blinding light.
"Babydmon Shinka! Dracomon!"
A small dragon Digimon stood in change of his partner. Dracomon nodded.
"I cannot improve it it's not 1-1-1. Wanna start over?"

Tatsuya smiled as he saw Avery's gaze soften when he mentioned Patch. So that was her "weak spot": she already held the Mikemon dear, as one could tell regarding her words: -Yes, you're correct. My life has definitely changed since he came along. I just don't know where it's heading. But I'm sure both of your lives have changed since they came along, right? Ryouta answered positively, saying that many fun things had happened since he had met Babydmon, and he was happy to have him. That made Tatsuya think. Since he had met Dorimon, they had only gotten into trouble, and he had to take care of the Digimon whether he wanted or not. However, was the change for good or bad? He couldn't help but to wonder why his partner was so special and different. Instead of friendship and companionship, the other things partners cared about, Dorimon only thought about getting stronger. That was why he had stayed near Tatsuya the whole time. -Well... I... -for the first time in his life, he didn't know what to say. Shaking his head, the teen continued watching the battle between the two In-Trainings and the Rookie. It seemed that Patch was outnumbered and cornered, but still not outmatched. As he barely avoided Dorimon's tackle, he taunted both Digimon to come at them. However, Babydmon surprised everyone, his partner included, as he digivolved to Rookie level! -Dracomon! -it called out as the light faded. Dorimon watched, his mouth open, and clenched his teeth. -"Why? Why has he digivolved so fast? It makes no sense...!" -he thought. It was not jealousy what he felt, but rather... impotence. Tatsuya was also amazed. Ryouta and Dracomon had only met the night before that one, and they were already ahead him and his partner. -Well... you are full of surprises, I must say.The dragon digimon then spoke again. -I cannot improve if it's not a 1-1-1. Wanna start over? -it asked. Dorimon answered quickly. -Yeah, suwe! C'mon, bwing it on! I'll take both of you down...! -the In-Training said, icily, although he was tired. His little body couldn't take as much as the more advanced Rookie one. Still, he was not going to lose. Never again, no matter what.
OOC: Not evolving him, because he first evolved during the Digimental Hunt which took place after this time. Sorry if it makes things boring

Avery's eyes widened as Babydmon digivolved to Dracomon. Patch had a very similar expression on his own face, but it quickly shifted to something more ecstatic. His tail whipped back and forth, and AJ knew what this meant. He was ready for a real fight. "Now, I have an actual challenge." AJ frowned at this. Had he only been playing around because the other two were smaller? What if he truly wanted to fight now? Obviously the fifteen-year-old was very apprehensive of him fighting.
"Patch, are you sure? He's at your level now."
Patch just gave her a passing look and waved his tail dismissively. "Yeah, yeah. I got it."
When Dracomon said he wanted to go one-to-one-to-one, Patch grinned. He figured the Rookie meant that instead of ganging up on just him, they would all go after the other. "Sounds good to me," he said, lowering himself to attack again.
AJ sighed, but smiled and looked over at Ryouta. "Congratulations on Babydmon digivolving. It's always something new, right?" Then she switched her attention to Tatsuya. "Do you think Dorimon will be okay? I mean, he's a great fighter, but they are both at the Rookie level."

Looks like the other two consented. Dracomon readies himself for the full brawl. The cat-like Digimon might be fast, but as far as projectiles concerned, he still win! The small dragon Digimon's horn momentarily shone. Quickly, he shoot a fiery projectile in form of laser breath to the opposing Mikemon. Doing fullblown attack in such a closed space is stupid, so he have lowered down the firepower to burst into harmless particles if it missed and hit something like the walls.
However, that isn't the last of his attack. Just in case Patch dodge by jumping, Dracomon rolled himself and jumped straight to the cat digimon's direction, aiming his tail attack at the on-equal-level opponent slash rival. He doesn't really enjoy this, but he wanted to please Ryouta.
"T-thanks...? I... no idea... what happened." Ryouta tried to explain whatever happened to his partner. It's too sudden! Why he suddenly evolved just like that? What's up with in danger or whatsoever remotely similar to that?

-Now I have an actual challenge -Patch said as he beheld Babydmon's transformation into its Rookie level form, a Dracomon. At that time, Dorimon gasped once again. What did he meant by that? Had he been unable to even give trouble to the cat-like Digimon? Was the gap in their powers so great, even though they were just a level away from each other?. While all the others were congratulating the new Tamer for having achieved that level, the In-Training clenched his teeth. It was just as he feared. If he wanted, Patch could probably beat him easily, and now that he had evolved, Dracomon could as well.
The match was supposed to be a one on one on one, however it quickly had turned into a fight between Patch and Ryouta's partner, which had been aproved by their Tamers. As Dracomon and Mikemon began the sparring match, he felt unable to match them.
-"There's nothing that can be done about it. If you are weak, you can't do anything by yourself..." -words came by themselves to the Dorimon's mind, and although he couldn't recall where he had heard them before, he was sure that it was no deja vu. Someone had definately said that to him before... and to be honest, it was exactly what he was thinking at that moment. -"But... is that really true? Am I really so weak...?" -he asked himself, knowing the answer. He looked at his Tamer as Avery addressed both him and the Digimon himself.
-Do you think Dorimon will be okay? I mean, he's a great fighter, but they are both at the Rookie level -she said. Tatsuya guessed she was concerned about his partner, but he also knew the effect those words would have on his partner, so he was about to answer, but Dorimon was faster. -I dwon't need you wowwying about me, human! I'll show you all! -he screamed, unable to hold his anger. With fiery eyes, he looked at Tatsuya, who knew that she had said the only thing that could make him answer like that.
-Yes. He will be okay. I know he can put up a good fight -he smiled. Trying to apologize for his partner's behaviour, he fixed a friendly gaze on Ave's azure eyes, which at the same time was trying to say "don't do that again, please". As Dorimon joined the fray, charging at his opponents with two Metal Gun attacks, one for each one, he unconsciously thanked his Tamer for allowing him to do it.

AJ mouthed an 'I'm sorry' to Tatsuya. She frowned when slightly at the little purple dragon's comment. She hadn't meant to hurt his feelings. He was obviously very headstrong, but also very sensitive about his power.
She cast a bright smile at the little in-training before he dashed off. "You're right! You can take them!" When Patch cast her a strange look, she just shook her head. He narrowed his eyes then got ready for whatever the other two threw at him.
Dorimon was attacking with a Metal Gun attack at both him and the newly evolved Dracomon. He had either a choice of getting hit by the Metal Gun or the fire breath. He dodged to the left then faked back to the right. He dashed straight towards Dorimon and lifted his paws as the Metal Gun came towards him, swatting the projectile towards him almost like it was a game of badminton. He wasn't sure if the in-training would dodge or what, but he had hit with enough force that it had even stung his paw pad considerably.
He hissed when he felt a sharp pain in his hip from Dracomon's charge attack. He whipped around and skidded back. Narrowing his eyes, his amber orbs took on a unearthly glow as he slowly stalked towards the dragon-like Rookie. "Cat's Eye," he growled in a low, sultry tone. The way he approached Dracomon almost reminded AJ of a lion on the hunt. Actually, this was the first time she had seen him use this technique. If Dracomon met Patch's gaze, he would slowly fall into a stupor.

While his attack has truly hit Patch, Dracomon got hit by a metal pebble on his cheek. Perhaps it's a move that saved him, but the small draconic Digimon turned his full attention to his assailant. The Dracomon stared at the baby, acknowledging its ability. That being said, he shoot out his laser projectile again after his horn momentarily shone. He already adjusted the strength to be the same with previous G-Shurunen. He thought, if he use something weaker just to make Dorimon can keep fighting, that will hurt the in-training's pride. That's why he keep it on the same level to Patch, who he consider to be on same level to him... no, stronger.
The Digimon momentarily caught light coming from the cat rookie's eyes. He began to feel his body losing its strength... however, he doesn't want to sleep, not yet! Dracomon bit his hand hard enough to wake him back up. He closed his right eye in self defend and aimed a side tackle to Patch's stomach.
Dracomon's self injuring streak kind of worries Ryouta. Seriously, why is he doing something so dangerous? It's almost if he prefer to be hurt by his own attack than his enemy's.

Dorimon smiled unconsciously as Avery cheered for him before he charged against both Dracomon and her partner, which Tatsuya thought was wierd, but thanked nonetheless. As she mouthed an "I'm sorry" towards him, the eigtheen year old returned a half smile. -Don't worry. I think it's fine now, I mean, he was happy to hear that -the eighteen year old answered, tilting his head once again to watch the fighting between the three partners, although his own was in a clear disadvantage.
Surprisingly enough, both Metal Bullets hit their targets, although Patch just swatted the attack as if it was a fly, deflecting it towards him, and Dracomon reacted after being hit on the cheek, firing a laser-like projectile towards him. Without thinking, he had dodged his own Metal Bullet, but got completely exposed to the Dragon-like Digimon's attack. As the laser collided with his body, the little Digimon let out a small, hurt howl, as he was propelled backwards. He rolled on the ground, but stood up as he could, nonetheless.
Tatsuya looked at him, concerned for his safety, although he knew acting in a protective manner would only make things worse. Thus, he opted to stay put, looking at his partner. Being so small, yet so hot-headed, reminded him of himself when he was young. Dorimon was like he was at the time he decided he wanted to learn karate. He reminded the day the bullies, stronger than him, ganged up and beat him up without hesitating. That's why he decided to, at least, cheer for his partner. -C'mon Dorimon, you can do it! Keep it on! -he said, as his partner got up on his little paws again.
The Dorimon then saw Patch doing something to Dracomon with his eyes. However, the In-Training, unaffected, since the gaze was not directed to him, charged forward, using a Tackle attack agains the cat-like Digimon. He had not predicted that the Dracomon would snap out of the other Rookie's techniques and would attempt the same movement as him. He braced for the impact. If Patch dodged, then he would welcome Dracomon's body with a good hit, though chances were that he would lose his ground in a direct impact.

(OOC: Ack, sorry, I seem accidentally already opened this thread two days ago, but forgot to reply due to class. Once again, sorry!)
His side tackle failed and he got kicked in return. Dracomon winced at the pain, but he know from the just one hit that his opponent has changed the target. The cat might be fast, but he have no projectile attack. Dracomon watches as his enemy start to initiate combo attack to the smaller Digimon... but he won't let him just do it like he please. They need to dance more.
"G Shurunen!!"
Without charging it, Dracomon shoot fast projectile that meant to distract Patch's attention back to him, and quickly whipped his tail in a parabola shape to the direction of the cat's face. Let's see how he fare against it now. Meanwhile, Ryouta wondered if his partner is a newbie in fighting... or is he shielding for the smaller Digimon? Whatever it is, rather than 1-1-1, it's like an indirect 2 vs 1 on Dracomon's side.
(OOC: Sorry for crappy post)

Dorimon smiled as his attack hit Patch, making him back away a few steps. However, the cat-like Digimon was still far from finished, and it dashed towards him, attempting to get a strike. Tatsuya's partner however didn't expect that the Mikemon would do a sweeping kick in an attempt to make him trip, so Ave's partner suceeded, and began pulling off a combination of his Neko Kick and Neko Scratch attack, chaining them as if it was... dancing?
With the last Neko Scratch, Dorumon was thrown to the ground, rolling on it for a while as he landed flat on its belly once more, breathing heavily. He was definately tired, but the Rookie Digimon still seemed to have lots of energy, so he wasn't on par with them at that level. Then, Dracomon's G-Shunrunen attack came flying, attempting to get Patch's attention back on him, as if it was being a two on one again. Why? Why did he help him?
-"It's a one against all... why does he help me? Why is he trying to protect me?" -he said. The little one did not like the idea of having to be covered by the other Rookie Digimon as they battled. If he couldn't do it alone, what sense did all of that have for him? He had engaged in the fight because he wanted to prove himself.
Then it came to mind that he hadn't advanced a single bit since that time... Did he need help in order to win? Because if he did... there was no point in keeping the pointless battle. -I... I dwon't want to fight like this!!!! -the Dorimon yelled, as he ran towards the G-Shunrunen attack, jumping between the laser and Patch. As the attack collided and exploded, Dorimon was launched backwards, bouncing on the ground a few times before finally stopping.
-Dorimon! -Tatsuya said, running next to him. As he crouched where his partner had landed, the In-Training muttered a few words, tired. -I dwon't need... anyone... to help me... I can... do it by myself... -the purple furball stated, struggling to get back on his paws. Tatsuya immediately understood why his partner had acted that way. A battle that was supposed to be fair had turned into the two on one, as if Dracomon was still an In-Training.
Not wanting to interfere, Tatsuya let him do as he pleased. His Digimon, however, could not stand up that time. As it closed his eyes, breathing heavily, Dorimon let out a snort, feeling defeated. His Tamer then picked him up, cradling it on his strong arms. -I'm... useless... -Dorimon muttered, making Tatsuya feel hurt. -Of course not, Dorimon... You did your best... Everyone has to lose sometimes, you know? -the teen tried to cheer him up, but it was in vain.
As the tired Digimon closed its eyes, it began sleeping peacefully. In the meantime, Tatsuya looked at the other two Digimon. The battle still hadn't finished yet.

When Patch was finished with his scratch and kick combo, he panted slightly. It seemed to have taken a bit of energy out of him so when he saw the projectile and laser coming towards him as well as Dorimon soaring between them, he was taken off guard. The explosion, though small, still knocked the Rookie back on his behind. He blinked his amber eyes owlishly as the little in-training rolled away and his tamer came to his aid.
AJ brought her hand to her mouth in a worried gesture. The poor little guy. He seemed okay, just really tired. His pride was probably the most injured thing from this battle. She wasn't sure why Dracomon had been defending him. It was a nice gesture, but it seemed to have hurt him in the long run.
When Tatsuya claimed his partner, she looked at her own. Patch was now crouching on all fours, looking to AJ on what to do. She frowned. So was this where the "taming" part came in? Was she supposed to call the fight off because one of them lost or should she let him continue? He was definitely becoming more fatigued. She couldn't quite tell if Dracomon was getting tired, but he had his projectiles. She shook her head. "I think it's time for this to stop Patch. I think you've done enough."
His amber eyes narrowed slightly, but he slinked over to her and sat down.
She smiled at Ryouta and Dracomon. "You guys make a really good team. I think Tatsuya and Dorimon do too. He's a great fighter." She turned to Tatsuya, her blue eyes shining with worry about the little in-training.

It's predictable. Ryouta knew that it'll be a blow to the little Digimon's pride. Even if Patch doesn't look as tired, he would stop the fight regardless...
"Dracomon," Ryouta called to his partner. His expression unreadable. Dracomon has no idea what his partner is thinking, but he's really unsure that it's something like praise. The small dragon Digimon slowly approached his partner. Ryouta's expression softened a bit as he crouched down to the Digimon's height, but Dracomon can sense a scold coming from him. Dracomon readies himself, tail drooping down like a kicked puppy.
"...You did your best, it's great. However, there's just a time where someone doesn't need your help. That's the case with Dorimon. I know you mean good, but that is a low blow to his pride. You're currently stronger, but if this keep up, then I'm afraid that it'll only make stuffs worse. There are some that need your help, there are some that doesn't. Try to learn both, OK?"
"Y-yes, Aniki..."
"That's my bud. When he is on your level, you better give him your best if he ask you for a rematch. Gimme a fist, lil' bud!" Ryouta extends his fist at the small Digimon for him to bump. The Digimon smiled and obliges.
"Sorry about that, Tats. Dracomon meant no harm, but... I know how bad it is when someone tries to help you when you just want to do something by yourself."

Dorimon looked defiant at the two humans, as they showed that they were concerned about his well being. Still, deep down he knew that, if they did worry about him, it was because they cared about him, just as his Tamer did... and yet it was that same feeling the one that made him feel so bad inside. If he couldn't take care of himself, how was he going to fulfill his promise?! -"D...damn it..." -he thought, as he was picked up by his Tamer. The following seconds, both Ryouta and Avery decided that they had fought enough for that day.
The girl then smiled. -You guys make a really good team. I think Tatsuya and Dorimon do too. He's a great fighter -Avery said, her eyes still shining, worried about Tatsuya's partner. In the meantime, Ryouta tried to explain to his partner what he had done wrong.
-Dracomon...You did your best, it's great. Try to learn both, OK? -he slightly scolded Dracomon.
Despite that, they ended up saying that they would give Dorimon the re-match whenever he was ready, and in a good condition to battle, of course. Ryouta then apologized to Tatsuya, who just shrugged it off. -Don't worry about it, mate. He'll be happy to battle you again, I'm sure! -the Tamer stated. Feeling the guilt in their words, Dorimon jumped down from Tatsuya's arms, already standing on four. although severely weakened. As always, his determination was admirable, his Tamer thought. -I... I've been wowse than this... so dwon't wowwy... -the In-Training said, but then he fell on four again. Worried, Tatsuya came to his aid, when he heard a snoring sound coming from his partner.
He tried to keep it cool, but Dorimon was so tired he had fell asleep already! Chuckling to himself, Tatsuya picked him up, looking at both humans. -Thanks. I know he is little, and too reckless for your tastes... but he means it. I don't know why, but he wants to be stronger more than anything.
Then, saddened, he added something else. -I wonder what could've happened to him in the past... I'm sure there has to be something, or he wouldn't think this way.
