Ollie didn't want to steal the majesty of the moment by just announcing the moment out loud when she would appear. Not only would that give the audience far too much warning about when the trick would go off, he just didn't trust himself to speak in front of the crowd now that he knew they were listening. He split the difference though, patting the back of the chest with the flat of his hand for three hard thumps before stepping back, shrinking a little as he stepped back and placed his back against one of the pillars coming from the back of the stage he waited for Lilly's reappearence.
The smell of her only got stronger as she dropped her disguise, at this distance there could be no mistake from Procopius that Lilly was the Digimon that he was smelling. He didn't say anything out loud still, it might be obvious to Ollie in a moment anyway and he prefered to just let his partner ride the high of his little social successes even if for only a little bit longer.

Lilly waited patiently for Ollie's signal her awareness of the boy's emotions much greater as Guilmon. He was definitely not comfortable so after the show she would have to apologize for putting him on the spot like that. Soon three solid thumps were heard. An effective signal. Now she could do the next part of the trick. Channeling her magic the young Guilmon focused on the area just outside the chest as she released two tiny balls of magic energy just like the single one from before. The balls were in front of the chest and, while to small for humans to notice, they were big enough for a digimon with excellent eyesight to notice. Grinning she waved a paw the two balls touching the ground exploding like Human World pyrotechnics obscuring the chest from view. Knowing she only had a few seconds to make her move she got to work.
By the time the pyrotechnic effects cleared Lilly, in her holosuit, was sitting on the chest smiling at the awestruck crowd. Hopping off the chest she as the crowd began cheering, she said "Thank you. You all are too kind to a new talent like me. As much fun as I had that's my show so please enjoy the more experienced magicians performances as well."
Heading past Ollie, in a voice just loud enough for the young human to hear, said "I can tell this kind of gig isn't your thing so why don't we head backstage. I know a quiet spot away from the humans in this building where we can all talk." It was clear she was also talking about Procopius as she headed off stage hoping the tamer and digimon pair would follow soon coming to a quiet spot out of sight of everyone before turning back to wait for Ollie.

Ollie wasn't feeling too bad about this little shot of social adrenaline all things considered. He hadn't even wanted to be in the Human World today, though he still left unspoken the fact that he almost didn't want to be in the Human World period. The bursting pyrotecnic sprays, which like the first burst weren't coming from any kind of dispenser or actual machinery which would only have given her identity away more to anybody that knew what they were looking for were both facing the front of the stage, with Ollie and Procopius both standing behind the chest, leaning back against one of the pillars holding up the curtains there were able to see the technique that she used to slip free of the chest and the bonds. Ollie clapped loudly enough, smiling earnestly before Lily took her bows and turned to face him. Ollie followed right behind as they found a quiet spot to talk. he reached up, pressing a combination of buttons of the Digivice hanging off of his shoulder, making sure the door behind them was closed and locked as he let Procopius out.
"Wow, just...I mean WOW. You were amazing! We were watching you pop out of that chest and I still didn't believe it!" Procopius said, the half clear blackness of his plastic body glittering under the single overhead light that illuminated the space.
"I'm sure your fellow magicians are itching their brains at this very moment trying to figure out how you pulled any of that off. I certainly wouldn't want to be the guy following your act. The crowd seemed to be eating out of the palm of your hand, though." Ollie said, more concerned with her technical proficiency as was his nature, Procopius was the one who could express his thoughts on the quality of the show as a whole.

Ollie wasn't the only one feeling a rush of adrenalin as Lilly had made her way through a door with the tamer and digimon duo with a pep in her step. The energy she felt was most likely a mix of the happiness she felt from the audience and the excitement of her first perfomance still flowing through her veins. It sure felt exhilarating though. After Ollie locked the door he released his partner which was a BlackToyAgumon and he was filled with excitement from the show as well.
Lilly then deactivated her holosuit revealing herself as a Guilmon with sapphire blue eyes that matched her Wizardmon father's to a tee. "I guess I wasn't half bad seeing as that was my first show but Daddy is a way better magician than I am." She then scratched her head before she said "Sorry about making you uncomfortable. I was just trying to make you feel better since I felt your emotions and that you weren't enjoying being on stage."
When Ollie spoke Lilly giggled before she said "You have a point but magic is an ever evolving art just like digimon. Anyway like the guy who announced me said, my name is Lilly. How about you two? What are your names?" Her tail started to swish happily back and forth at the possibility of getting to know new people. Like Mandrake she was definitely the extroverted type.

"No it was...good for me. I've never actually had someone laugh at my joke like that, even if I was mostly making it to myself." Ollie said, shrugging off her apology for putting him on the spot. He was a young man who was paradoxically always reaching up and out and yet was anchored near totally to hsi comfort zone. Being shoved out of a it a little at a time was half of what Procopius tried to do with him at any given time anyway.
"I'm Procopius, this is Ollie. We're...hmm, would explorers be the right word?" Procopius said, having to turn most of the way around in order to look at Ollie, it was hard to turn his head without any visible neck after all before he turned back to Lilly.
"Explorers, scholars, archeologists. Whatever you want to call it. We're assembling this..." Ollie reached into his backpack and pulled out the real deal, the fat leather bound book with gold leaf on the front cover reading "Encyclopedia and Almanac of the Digital world by Oliver Reynolds and Procopius." Most of the pages were still blank, only the final version of all of Ollie's notes were transcriped into the book itself from the endless notes and sketches that Ollie kept on hand. If Lilly took the book to inspect she would find one of the first pages collected in the vauge order thus far would be their run in with Kshin.

"From what I noticed, you don't seem to be much for social interactions so no wonder you seemed so uncomfortable." Lilly said with a gentle laugh.
Lilly looked over at Procopius and said "You have an interesting name, Procopius. I'm sure there is an interesting history behind it given the fact you two are explorers. I, on the other hand, am simply named after my favorite kind of flowers."
Lilly's natural curiosity was peaked as Ollie brought out the fat book which was apparently an encyclopedia of the Digital World. Lilly leaned over getting a better look before gently opening the book until a certain page caught her eye and she said "I see you have met one of my older brothers. Looks like he came across some crazy trouble including a magic book. How fascinating. Well if the book was found by him it must of been for a reason so maybe he'll puzzle it out in time."
"As for myself, I am basically a nomad like most of my family. Yet like them I enjoy the pursuit of knowledge. Maybe it mostly due to our magical natures or even our sense of curiosity. I don't know." Lilly said with a shrug.

"What? My name? I was named after a famous Byzantine historian under Emperor Justinian." Procopius said, heading Ollie off before he could even start to explain. Ollie smiled at that, his friend and partner having taken his namesake to heart and retained the knowledge of where it all had come from.
"Kshin was your brother? He said he had a large family but still, small world." Ollie said, letting Lilly keeping leafing through the book as long as she liked as he pulled out one of his notebooks and began to scratch out a sketch of the Guilmon. it was a habit he was building by now, noting down every piece of Digital World information that he was given.
"Nomad huh? I've been trying to keep this one OFF of that track. We're actually only in the human world today because I insisted." Procopius said, taking the notebook that Ollie had been sketching in and waddling up to Lilly, handing her the notebook page and unlatching the pen from around his neck, handing it to her. "Could we get your autograph? You are a performer after all, so we should note your signiture down for posterity, don't you think?" Procopius said with a smile, though it was very clear that as true as that idea was he was mostly asking just to get her signiture for normal reasons.

"That is fascinating. Maybe I should look into learning a bit of human history." Lilly said amazed since her name was quite humble in comparison to being named after a historical figure.
"Yeah I have two older brothers. As for the large family a lot of it is from my Leomon father, Lothar. I don't know how big my other dads family is though as I've not heard much about that side of the family. I did inherit my magic from my Wizardmon father though. His name is Mandrake." Lilly said smiling as she watched Ollie pull out a notebook and begin sketching her. Seemed Ollie had a bit of a talent for drawing. "You aren't that bad at drawing. Such a talent has the potential for many uses."
"Now. Now, Procopius. Being a nomad is not so bad. There is a lot of potential for learning by traveling from place to place after all." Lilly said seeing Procopius hand her a notebook and pen asking for an autograph. "An autograph? I'm flattered but are you sure you wouldn't want one from maybe a more skilled magician. I was only copying some of what I picked up from daddy." Lilly said looking perplexed as she didn't expect being asked for an autograph so soon since she had only digivolved from to rookie a short time ago.

"I've picked up some technical talent for art here and there. I suppose I could improve on it to a point but it's never really been my interest. I sketch so that I have something to note when I put the information down, I don't take the joy in the art itself that would be required to be a truly great artist." Ollie said as he continued to sketch her. He may not be an artist by trade but as with most things, he'd read about the realities of the profession and gained a respect for it.
"It's not the nomad thing I have a problem with. It's the "he'd rather stay in the Digital World for the rest of his life and he hasn't even finished school yet." That tends to worry me." Procopius said as he handed Lilly the note page and the pen with which to sign it. He knew Ollie didn't have much tethering him to the human world but from his perspective that was a reason to confront those anxieties head on, not avoid them the way Ollie was doing.
"Of course we need your signature. It's obvious that you're going to be a world renowned magician before long so we have to get it before it's too busy. We have to save your sign for the history books don't we?" Ollie said, perking up from the small amount of deflation that Procopius' worry had put in him when his mind was redirected to his "life's work".

Lilly listened as Ollie spoke of how he picked up some technical talent for art and used his sketches for his encyclopedia of the Digital World. Lilly herself enjoyed art of various forms much like her parents even if she the only art she was gifted in was the performance art known as being a magician. Having latent magical energies flowing through her body that she could tap into in performances didn't hurt her cause either.
Upon hearing that Ollie would rather stay in the Digital World for the rest of his life instead of at least finishing school this caught Lilly by surprise and it was reflected in the young Guilmon's face as she blinked appearing to be at a loss for words before she said "Wait. I get wanting to stay in one world over another but, Ollie, you should at least keep traveling between the worlds until you finish school." Lilly's voice sounded full of concern before she then accepted the note page and pen.
Ollie seemed to perk up pretty quick and Lilly signed the note page before handing it to the teen along with the pen as she said "Okay. Fair enough. Though it will likely take me a long time to be as good at magic as my magical grandfather whom I inherited my empathic abilities from."

"I just...don't have a lot tethering me to the human world most of the time." Ollie said, trying to keep it to the simple explanation like that, he didn't want to burden Lilly with his problems even if Procopius' worried expression only deepened as Ollie tried to deflect. He knew how lonely Ollie could be, how put upon and isolated he was by the life he had been pushed into.
"Anything worth doing takes knowledge and time to do right. It's clear you have the knowledge, now we're just waiting on time." Procopius said, trying to mimic something that it sounded like Ollie would say, which made his young partner perk up a little as Lilly scratched her name into the page. Another piece in the puzzle of his new life's work was usually enough to lift him out of his funk at least for a little while.
"Empathic? Like you can sense the emotions of others? How did your family come upon that kind of ability?" Ollie said, his keen investigator's mind locking upon the detail that Lilly had provided like a steel trap. Something new to learn, to illuminate and to record, nothing else worked so well to take the sometimes melancholy young man and turn him into a grinning bulb of positive energy. Procopius sighed and smiled a little, he didn't want his partner to wallow in what made him upset but he still worried about him never confronting the things that bothered him.

"I guess that's fair but this world is pretty fascinating based on what I've experienced so far." Lilly said. Sure she didn't understand why Ollie wasn't happy with at least going back and forth between the worlds for the time being. That and by teenager standards Ollie seemed strangely short. Not that it was an issue given how short one of her father's were. It was possible Ollie may of been taller than Mandrake.
"Procopius has a point. There are things in this world I'm sure you still need to learn that would still be handy in the Digital World." Lilly said in agreement with Procopius. Judging by what she had observed from the pair they seemed to be picking up traits from one another.
"Yeah. I can sense the emotions of others and sometimes it can be quite overwhelming depending on the strength of the emotions. I remember having some difficulty since I was born an empath and didn't know at first how to best process the emotions I was feeling from others." Lilly said before continuing "As for how my family came upon the ability, I don't know. All I know is that one of my grandfathers, a Jijimon named Theron, also is an empath. My Wizardmon father didn't inherit empathic traits so it might skip a generation. I guess I'll have to ask grandpa next time I see him." Lilly said enjoying the feel of the positive emotions now rolling off of Ollie at the prospect of new knowledge.

"I can only imagine. You were an infant when they first manifested right? Or the closest digimon equivalent. I can only imagine a child that young being constantly bombarded with the feelings and emotional complexes of everyone around them." Ollie said, the introverted young man letting out a stark shiver. The social overload from all of that emotion alone would have been enough to totally overwhelm him personally.
"I only know what comes out of people's mouths and I spend like forty percent of my day wondering how much trouble I'd get in if I started punching people's lights out. Knowing what people are feeling privately would be a real challenge." Procopius said, the grumpy Digimon only half joking about how much time he spent considering the consequences of forcing people to shut their traps for five seconds.
"A trait "skipping a generation" usually means that the trait is genetically recessive...if such an idea even applies to Digimon in any meaningful away since I can't imagine Digimon pass along genetic code in the same way physical beings do." Ollie said. He had already read up on the nature of how Digimon had children knowing it was a lot less...physical than the way that most animals went about it, even if it was equally as intimate. "When you're being loaded from ones and zeroes, or some infinitely more complex version of that it seems like chromosomes would just be a complication on top of everything." Ollie said, just another one of the subjects that had originally crossed his mind idly and was now a true intellectual carrot being hung in front of his face

"Yeah I was born with those abilities and being bombarded by the emotions of others was something I had trouble getting used to. While I still enjoy the feeling of positive emotions. It's not the case for the negative ones as you can understand. However as an infant when I felt a negative emotion I didn't know what to do and would start crying." Lilly said before he continued "As you can probably guess, since I feel the emotions of others, I don't enjoy causing emotional pain to others."
Lilly snickered at Procopius' words before she said "I am grateful that I just recently digivolved to rookie and prefer not to fight unless I have no other option. I am like my Wizardmon parent in many ways it seems."
"Maybe there is also a reason I regarding my data that I didn't seem to get telepathy or telekinesis like Daddy and Grandpa Theron." Lilly said remembering that her grandfather also was telepathic and telekinetic on top of being empathic. "Maybe it isn't a recessive trait but since what little I know about genetics is that both parents have to have the trait. So my Leomon father's family definitely don't have empathic abilities from what I was told. Sounds like the data was just picking various dominant traits at random like what can happen with human genetics. Makes me wonder if any potential future siblings will have telepathy and telekinesis. I know I have one trait from my Leomon father that seems pretty dominant. Remember that big chest I dragged onto the stage? It apparently is quite heavy for a human but I seemed to inherit super strength from my Leomon father, Lothar. He said the super strength came from his mother's side of the family and might occassionally pop up amongst future offspring. So far I am the first child to get super strength as LJ didn't get it."

"And here I thought the most complicated parts of genetics was figuring out if you children were going to be red heads." Ollie said, another joke, something he wasn't usually too fond of doing but the positivity of the stage lights was truly electrifying, it still tingled under his skin even after only being put on the edge of the spotlight by his role as one of her volunteers.
"Speaking of, I really want to get one of those holosuits sooner rather than later. The V-Pet is nice and all but more than a little cramped. I know exactly what I wanna look like too so I can get all the chicks." Procopius said, overplaying his "cool guy" affectation with Ollie rolling his eyes behind him, crossing his arms over his chest.
"If you wanted to be the cool guy you wouldn't be hanging around with me. I'm a cool sponge if ever there was such a thing." Ollie said as if rejecting the idea of being cool out of hand even if Lilly could see that his lack of popularity with well...anybody did bother him more than a little, put off balance by the idea that Procopius would end up in a human body and then somehow be swept up in a wave of popularity that would leave Ollie in the dust right where he started. Maybe still he was trying to deflect the conversation away from both that and Lilly's discussion of her family, both of them sore subjects for the little scholar.
"Are you kidding? Hang around with me and they'll be carrying you on their shoulders. 'Ollie, Ollie, Ollie'! Haaa!~" Procopius said, hissing out a mimicked version of a screaming crowd as he wrapped one of his blocky plastic arms around Ollie's waist, actually managing to get a smile out of the young man. He wouldn't be leaving his partner in the lurch any time soon that was for sure.
