Panting, panting, panting. A huge Minotaurmon applying pressure on his arm, blood datas trickling down from the wound. He ran, ran and ran, faster, faster, even though the cold air felt like it burns his digital lungs. The cold, moist air normally would be good, but in case like this where he couldn't afford to be caught, it only felt like a torture. But even so, digital adrenaline pumping through his system. In his mind, he only have one thought.... "I want to live, I want to live"... ignoring the screaming of pain and shouting of attack names behind him. The Digimon wheezed, trying to press onward. Yet he knew, he really knew... that beast is chasing after him faster than his legs could carry him.
Flash of crimson. Like whip, they shot after him. A high pitched scream came out from the Minotaurmon's throat as one narrowly missed him, grazing his hair.
"W-why!? Why!? CUT IT OUT ALREADY! I'M THE GREAT TAURON!! WHY AM I FORCED TO ESCAPE LIKE THIS!?"
That was a wrong thing to do, to shout. It's a waste of breath, and not to mention, it would draw attention of his pursuer. Almost like a relentless hunting hound, the beast kept giving chase.
"Ghhh--!" finally unable to stomach the idea of running like a prey, Tauron whipped around, aiming his cannon and set it to rapid fire. "DIE DIE DIE, YOU MONSTER! JUST DIE ALREADY!"
Yet despite the bullets hitting its target--- which revealed to be a canine Digimon with long fangs, the Digimon kept charging as if the pain did not register the slightest. Normally, the pain would make one hesitate or even flinch, yet as for this one.... it keeps charging, charging and charging....
"No... no, no! DON'T, DON'T COME CLOSER!"
Tauron began to charge his energy attack in panic, but.... It was too late.
The beast's wing, aimed at his chest, immediately ended his present life.
"...for... human... you did... so far..."
The beast did not loaded him... blood, its and its enemy's mixed together, dyed its white part of the fur red. The beast opened its mouth... and a hoarse groan came out from it... a groan that soon became clearer... and clearer...
"a....aaaaa.....aaaaaaaa..... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
As if struggling from pain and discomfort both, the beast wildly scream, wildly thrashing and attacking nothing as if it tries to regain something. The screaming and howls mixed together, creating a series of haunting sound that once again became the omen of the beast's presence.

It was said that a strange monster was lurking around the eastern sectors of the Digital World--and that was quite close to a few population centers. At least, it was in Mantis' mind. The Digibeetle was left parked at the edge of the Server Woods, with a certain someone's ghost saying hello as Mantis departed...not by himself.
Going alone was actually pretty stupid--he had a party comprised of himself, Miyako, and his daughter. Robin was stuck on Digibeetle duty. It had an SOS and he was specifically told to shoot it if they didn't come back.
"So...What prompted the...new form?" Miyako found herself asking her partner. Who, to note. Was. For some reason. A Duskmon rather than a Yaksamon. "You did, given that stunt you pulled. We have been over this." There was a rasp from the champion.
Nanashi had been silent, and opted to conserve her power...and remain a Hawkmon for the moment. It seemed as if this was going to be a relatively silent trek through the woods, before there had been a SCREAM. A scream that heralded a series of harsh noises that could be heard throughout the area!
"Wha-"
"...Noisy." The Duskmon noted, before he took off in a sprint towards the noise. "PREPARE FOR A NOISE COMPLAINT, BEAST."
"What the fuck." Miyako and Nanashi exclaimed at near the same time...before they also joined in the pursuit--with the latter digivolving to Aquilamon so Miyako could hitch a ride. Of course, as all three got ever closer...The smell of blood became quite prevalent in the air.
"That's...Blood." Miyako observed. "Digimon don't usually bleed, do they?" She asked of Nanashi. "Eeeeh...Not really. Depends on the attack--data's more our blood than anything, but something it takes the form of blood. Smells nasty, either way..." The eagle kept a careful eye out as she flew.
Yet, the question remained. What was here? Who was here?

Aidan didn’t blame his little brother Kieran for not wanting to go on this outing. Rumours of a dangerous beast loose in the forest, with possible links to a missing friend, Aidan knew that this was a job for him. As the elder brother, his instincts were always to stand up and protect, and let Kieran live gently and safely like he always wanted, even now that Kieran had grown bigger than him, this was still true. This was why Aidan had chosen to become a police officer, leaving Kieran to follow his dreams in studying and caring for the world around him.
As for his digimon partner, Roy the Veemon had a similar outlook. Even though his brother Rex was the bigger of the two, and even though they had served as Rosewood Town Guards together, Rex was always reluctant to initiate conflict, letting Roy take the lead. And in the few nights that it came to confrontations, it was Roy that stood steady with his standard issue sword held up firmly at the perpetrator with Rex ready to follow his lead.
And so here the two of them were, here in an isolated part of the Server Woods. Aidan and Roy’s combined instincts could tell the direction from which the trouble came. Roy could smell the blood, Aidan could see the signs of disruption that had spilled it. In preparation, he had taken out his digivice and quietly evolved Roy to his Champion level, Veedramon. Even though that made the blue and white dragon considerably bigger, it also made them safer. Roy’s capabilities were enhanced fourfold, and would be more able to take on the dangers ahead.
Possibilities of what had happened were spinning around Aidan’s head as he approached the source of the noise ahead. He knew that Kieran and Rex had befriended a black furred Gaomon named Steyr a while ago in Rosewood, and now Steyr was missing. And now there were rumours of a black furred beast that was causing havoc in the woods, hunting down wrongdoers with a savagery that Aidan knew his brother wouldn’t tolerate. He knew he had to get to the bottom of this.
Then they heard the howl. Aidan froze instinctively, so that he had to be shaken back to his senses gently by Roy.
“Over there.” the Veedramon whispered, pointing in the direction it came from. “Ride my back, Aidan, I’ll keep you safe.”
Aidan blinked up at his partner. He wanted to reply that he was fine to approach on foot, but in reality, he wasn’t. This was only his second visit to the digital world, and it was just him and his partner alone in the woods with a dangerous predator on the loose.
“...okay.” was all he could reply, and let Roy guide him to a comfortable position on his back. Aidan supposed this would do. At his size, Roy was about the size and bulk of a police car, although not quite as fast, but still mobile enough to close in on whatever awaited them in these woods.

Pursuer, his instinct told him. There are human smells, but most of all is three Digimons. Three adults. He's overpowered. The battle might not decrease his performance the slightest due to his pain immunity, but the same time, three against one is probably not the best.
Run, his instinct told him. But at the same time, a nagging feeling told him to stay. As if there is something that telling him to stay on his ground. Something... with a hint of desperation. Soemthing just doesn't seem to add up... something that feels like this is his last chance.
...The first intruder came. The beast let out a low growl of warning. The fur of his hunches stood up, trying to make himself bigger. The swirling viral energy acted as a second deterrent. But upon noticing a human with Aquilamon, the beast recoiled, as if being forcefully yanked by something invisible. The beast that wasn't going to turn tail suddenly broke into sprint to different direction. Its wings pulled flat to its body, trying its best to reduce air friction. That was its goal at first, but the moment its saw another human and digimon approaching, once again the beast looked as if it got yanked away by something invisible, changing its direction. The beast let out a distressed sound, one that's a mix between howl and scream once again. Almost as if it feels great shame on those who saw this form, or perhaps, a general discomfort of being trapped in shell of berserking beast. Who could tell?
The beast ran, ran and ran. But perhaps not for long.

Was any of this at all correct? ...Perhaps not, but if there had been a way to put a stop to whatever was going on, Mantis had been willing to take it. Miyako took note of the strange...cross between a Gaogamon and a Sangloupmon. At least, that was the first thing she thought of.
They recoiled at the sight of her. "...This...might be someone under a haze." She noted, as the Duskmon stood his ground against the wolf attempting to intimidate. He seemed to throw his arms out, as if daring the wolf to attack. And...let them fall as he heard the beast's pained sound.
"...Yeah. I get you." This form, new as it was to Mantis, felt...all sorts of wrong. So, he sort of empathized with the shame. The Duskmon looked down to the red blades he had in hand. "Yet...blackened as I am, you still seem...familiar to me."
Why? The stench of royalty, fairly elected, and the fumes of war...
...Was this...
The Duskmon would continue his pursuit. A quiet murmur. "I owe their family much, if you really are their son. I know not of what happened to you, yet...I will pay them back by saving you."
In the meantime, while Miya and Nanashi kept close behind, the former took note of an astute fact. They weren't the only ones in pursuit. "Hey, Nana..." She nudged the Aquilamon. "Yeah, I noticed. HEY, WHOEVER ELSE IS NEARBY, ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO WRANGLE A MASSIVE DOG?"

Aidan had something of experience with dogs in his time. From the family dogs growing up, to the police canine units he had been trained with, the young man could tell vaguely the signs from this digimon’s behaviour what was going on. While he couldn’t claim to know exactly what was going on in this wild digimon’s mind, he could tell there was hesitation and confusion. The digimon didn’t look like he was going to attack all that approached, but was prepared to defend himself if they made a move.
“Careful, Roy. He seems like… he’s backed into a corner.” Aidan told his partner. Roy nodded, the V-dramon aware that quite often this was where people were at their most dangerous, often making reckless moves to create the chaos they needed to escape.
But there were no corners in the forest, and the beast fled. Aidan knew it was no excuse to abandon this though, they had to pursue. “After him!” he instructed his partner, and Roy charged through the woods, all but the biggest trees folding under his advance, his thick dragon hide feeling nothing of the thorns and brambles of the undergrowth.
The others present caught their attention. They seemed to know this digimon as well. Aidan looked across to them, and saw to his shock a young girl, probably not even a teenager. And the other digimon, a Duskmon and Aquilamon. They seemed engaged in this chase too.
They were then asked how to best wrangle a massive dog. Aidan felt confident enough to reply quickly. “Jam shut his muzzle, that’s his main weapon!” he shouted in reply.
“What about those claws though?” Roy asked. “They look like they could do more damage than a human world tiger…”
Aidan agreed. Those giant claws, human world dogs and canines mostly used their teeth to maul their prey, but this digimon seemed capable of using his claws for that too. Damn, they couldn’t approach without a plan! Not with a little girl involved. He thought fast.
“...Try binding his legs!” he called out to his hopeful allies. “He can’t move or attack if we do that!”
“Makes sense to me!” Roy agreed, the Veedramon continuing his pursuit. Only problem was that he didn’t have the means to quickly bind this digimon’s legs. Hopefully he could draw his attention quick enough so the others could act. He inhaled and roared as loud as he could. “STOP IN THE NAME OF THE LAW OF ROSEWOOD!!!”
Hopefully this would have some effect. If it didn’t, Roy would have to resort to other measures.

Words meant nothing. Nothing. Not even the usual "stop, in the name of the law" that he would immediately comply to had he been sane. But sane wasn't in his system right now. If anything, even he was struggling against the instinct that kept forcing him to fight. So he had no choice. Running was the right decision. Once again the scream and howl mixed as the beast thrashed about, trying to turn around only for eh body to keep running.
His luck ran out though. His muddled mind failed to notice that he was heading toward a dead end. And as muddled as his mind is at the moment, flying would not be a good choice. A gaping rift between two ledges spreads about ten meters apart, and it was more than thirty meter drop to the river below. At this point, the moonlight finally unhindered by any clouds and trees, showing the true sight of the beast. It looked like a Gaogamon mixed with a Sangloupmon. Blood splattered across the white part of its paws and muzzle. Whether it's new, or whether it's part of its appearance no one knew for sure. However, the blood red eyes looked crazed, with eerie light that looked as if it is possessed. Big wings on his back spreads open, like trying to intimidate the chasers to not come closer. He's trying to make himself bigger... but truth to be told? He's already massive, being about a quarter bigger than an ordinary Gaogamon. The beast snarled, letting out a warning growl yet again.
This one will deifnitely fight if they approach him any closer.

A cornered beast is a beast at his most dangerous. Such was not simply a saying, but a law of the world--both worlds, at that. Yet...their rag-tag company right now? "That's one of the guards...!" Nanashi exclaimed in sudden recognition. The long arm of Rosewood's law had come!
"Guard or not, help is help. The jaw is most likely where projectile attacks are fired from, so there is a fair point in jamming that shut." Mantis noted. A mind for tactics and battle was a great aide in wrangling colossal doegs.
The issue was that nobody really had much in the way of binding or stopping the Digimon dead in their tracks without digivolving to Ultimate. As they slowly but surely came to corner the wolf, Mantis, Nanashi and Miyako alike all noted the same thing.
This was not an ordinary Gaogamon--not even the black variant either. No, it's... "...I see there's some Sangloupmon in you, kid. No wonder..." Mantis spoke as he slowed to a stop...That lasted for all of a few seconds. "I'm not some weak little scamp from the Dark Area--that's not going to work on me, child of the ancient kingdom. You face Praying Mantis. En garde!"
Now, one may be forgiven for thinking Mantis was going to actually attack, and...to be fair? Given the way he seemed to vanish into a smoky substance that reformed IN FRONT OF STEYR rather than behind him? It sure looked like an attack. Except he intentionally swung and missed with one arm, using the momentum to whirl around and try to CLAMP a hand on the Gaogamon's jaw, all whilst a red moon hung in the sky for a few seconds.
"ATTEMPTING MUZZLE WRANGLING. DO WHAT YOU WILL, GUARDSMEN."
"Are you not going to-" "With you on my back? No. You really should've just brought the beetle along if you wanted me to provide firing support!" That was something to have thought through indeed. Nanashi was hanging back, so Aidan and Roy were free to engage however they saw fit. tl;dr Mantis intentionally fucks up one of his moves to teleport in front of Steyr to try grabbing his mouth.
Eroberung: A red moon hangs in the sky for the duration of this attack, as Duskmon vanishes and reappears IN FRONT OF AN ENEMY before slashing at them. Because teleporting behind someone is a coward's move. If this attack makes contact, the foe's next attack is decreased in power by 50%. Three Post cooldown.
Cooldowns: Eroberung - 0/3

Roy’s command to halt did not appear to work. Both he and Aidan scowled. It seemed like they would have to go ahead and do this the hard way. But they would not aim to hurt this digimon, only subdue him, given that he had apparently been a friend of both of their brothers.
They finally cornered him, against a small canyon, 10 meters wide and 30 meters deep. At once, Roy saw an opportunity. If he used a technique that would cause a small local earthquake, they could possibly bring him under control. But they would need to act fast. Setting off his attack so close to the edge could send the wild beast digimon plummeting into the canyon.
Thankfully the other digimon present and their partner seemed to be cooperating. Roy halted as the chase came to an end, making sure Aidan was still safe on his shoulder.
“I think you should probably get off here, Aidan, I’m gonna need to do some tricky moves here and I don’t want to risk you getting injured.” Roy advised.
“Okay, pal, do your best.” Aidan said in response, then jumped off, immediately turning to watch his partner and allies in action.
Mantis then made his move, jamming the beast digimon’s muzzle shut. And with his partner safe, Roy immediately repositioned himself, running to the edge of the canyon, then his tail glowed yellow and with a cry of ”Richter Tail!” he slammed it into the ground, creating a shockwave into the ground below the beast, so that it would not hurt Mantis. The ground below shook savagely. Taking a chance, Roy would then make a charge at the beast digimon, using his immense strength to hopefully grapple with him and pin him down.
Yes, he risked great injury in doing this, as well as a fall if the local earthquake sent the shockwaves toward the canyon, but, he was told this digimon had to be taken alive, and he intended to do all he could to achieve that, even if he risked getting struck in return.
Aidan meanwhile watched in horror. This was his first time seeing digimon this level engage in close combat, and beholding its ferocity was something he found was absolutely terrifying.
Roy uses Richter Tail to only target the ground below Steyr’s feet. He focuses it so it does not affect Mantis, increasing the attack cooldown.
Richter Tail: Roy's tail charges with earth elemental energy, then he slams it on the ground, causing a shockwave that reaches 20m in diameter, damaging all foes in contact with the ground. [Cooldown: 1 turn]. In addition, he can focus so that this attack does not affect allies, but doing so increases the cooldown to 2 turns.
Roy then attempts to tackle Steyr to the ground to prevent him from moving, aiming to get away from the canyon edge.
