Sure the others were a curiosity to LJ too but his attention kept drifting back and forth from Yuji and Rai. When looking at Yuji he would be making a face that was one of trying to remember where he had seen that teen before. The info was in his brain but it was as if he couldn't access it. If only there was a telepath nearby. Maybe he should go back and visit his grandpa Theron or locate his dad Mandrake since their telepathic abilities might find those hard to access memories. Oh well maybe later if he didn't forget.
Yeah he did the same thing with using his surname after his first name too out of habit which also showed his nature as a foreigner but the others didn't seem to be bothered so he just shrugged it off. Then the brothers mentioned this thing called AEGIS which caught the young disguised Leomon X to glance at them before he asked "What is this AEGIS?" Sure he had faintly heard about AEGIS but knew nothing about it otherwise.
Then mentioning the occult club caught LJ's attention and he innocently asked "Wait? The occult club can teleport us away? Do they use crazy powers or some weird artifact?" Smooth work LJ. Now he realized he sounded like a weirdo and facepalmed.

Dan--Oh. OH. The realization hit Miyako like a truck, before she gave a rather enthusiastic nod towards Mr. Caldwell. "Will do--Happy to hear things are fine on your end, sensei." Rumors, hm? "Well, the one rumor I've heard's about this pint-sized Yokai with a stick that runs around getting in fights with other Yokai."
"...What are you on about...?" Roche found himself asking the young lady before realizing he had been addressed. He nodded to Bellamy. "Yeah. There's a lot of landforms that I didn't think I'd learn about that I now know...a bit too much of for having only been here a week. Otherwise, it's been fine." He caught that slip-up. Rather than press on it?
He let it be. Why take the bandaid off on a realization that made you feel a bit more at ease, right? Naturally, though, as everyone's interested was captivated by the AEGIS rumor...Roche could not help but inquire.
"...I know everyone's asking this but what the heck does that stand for? Like, are they a shield or what?"

A bit too on the nose, the teacher thought... yet, this disrespect that the blue haired boy uttered was a bit too sharp so he need to remind him.
"Now now, Moriyama-kun, that's not a tone that you should use to a teacher, subtitute nonwithstanding. If you ask someone that sharply you'd be considered hostile out of nowhere you know? If you do not wish to humor my question then there are different ways to do it rather than immediately spring with such sharply worded questions in turn," Lux chided. "However it is true that it was an abrupt question. Let me phrase it this way: Teachers have duties. One of said duties is to ensure their students' mental health stays high. Despite looking like this..." the teacher's smile turned into a serious one. "I plan to ensure that, you see."
The teacher puts aside his bento box and then leaned in, hands joined around the fingers. "Young students often wishes to get acknowledgement from their peers, in "cool" way. I have consficated many things that could lead to some students doing out of character behaviors. For example, kokkuri-san, rumors about haunted places, those sort of things. Writing a book might be a good excuse but alas... it was more than that. I just don't want my students to court danger, you see? Unless of course they're experienced enough or with someone with experience. That's why I'm looking for rumors just in case someone try to replicate those rumors by practicing it. Stopping them before it happened. Does that satisfy your curiosity?"
A... bit too on the nose with Colin's talk. Lux smiled, one of his usual polite smile. "Right, I have checked the news on the weather forecast. Come to think of it, there have been relocations projects going on around Shibuya, so I think places that used to be shelters would no longer be fitting for shelters for some animals. Reminds me of the Tsukiji fish market that was permanently closed few years ago."
Pint sized yokai that running around fighting with other Yokai... At that, Lux let out a soft chuckle. "That's... lovely."
...One thing that he couldn't help to notice is that soooomehow Digimons of this table have quite little human common sense. He made a mental note to teach his son more about said common sense. Come to think of it, he wonder if he already gone home for the day. Should he asked him if he wanted to walk home together?

Yuji couldn't help but laugh a bit when Colin expressed his confusion about the last name custom they did here in Japan. "Some people are strict about it, but I'm not one of them. I just wanted to mess with you a little bit, and it looks like I did a solid job. I don't care what name you call me by, for real. As for the case of brothers... usually others would ask first before calling you all by your first names, but usually that's when they'd call you by your first names."
Of course Yuji full on belly-laughed when Colin and Luke brought up the occult club like that. "I can't believe we haven't talked much before this, the three of you are a riot. A shame you're all third years and I'm just a first year..." That kid LJ then asked if the occult club could really teleport people away. Of course, his partner Kazuo asked that exact same question just a couple weeks ago, so Yuji really wasn't phased by it. "No, Luke was just making a joke, LJ. We all know superpowers don't really exist... though it would be rad as hell if they did." Irony at its finest. "I haven't messed with the occult club, myself... I'm more into watching supernatural stuff on TV than what those weirdos do."
The topic of discussion then seemed to shift over to rumors popping up around Shibuya. Yuji had expressed his suspicions of such an impromptu question, to which Lux-sensei berated Yuji for his tone towards a teacher, substitute or not. Yuji feigned looking disciplined, but for him it really did just go in one ear and out the other. At least Lux explained it further: he was just looking out for his students' mental health at the end of the day. Still though... Digimon and the Digital World aren't things that anyone can just jump into. Yuji and Kazuo both understood this well enough... mess with the wrong things, and you're in for a world of hurt.
The others were a bit more receptive to their teacher's question. Miyako shared a story of a pint-sized Yokai with a stick battling other Yokai. "A Yokai with a stick...? Like, a tree branch, or more or a fencing stick? It could be kids in costumes playing pretend." Of course it wasn't, but Yuji DID have to state more "reasonable" options to avoid looking suspicious.
Then Colin shared a rumor of his own, one that definitely caught the crazy-haired anime fan's attention. A difficult season approaching that causes creatures of all sort to make shelter, and that an organization known as AEGIS wanted to make a shelter for those creatures. Yuji had to suppress his surprised look; he had a friend in AEGIS, which was supposed to be a secret organization dedicated to preserving peace between Digimon and the human world. Emphasis on the secret part. There's no way this had to be a coincidence... was it? Where did Colin hear that name?
"AEGIS, huh...?" Yuji asked, putting his elbows on the table and locking his hands together before smiling a bit. "That sounds like a name for a super secret agent branch of the government... real James Bond level stuff there. Not exactly the type of name given to an organization dedicated to helping animals. Where did you hear this rumor, Colin? If you don't mind me asking of course, because I'm genuinely interested."

Colin was about to answer, but was distracted when Luke rather frantically looked at his watch, turning somewhat pale. It looked like he suddenly remembered something urgent that they should be doing.
“Oh crap, we’re late!” he exclaimed, then turned to whisper to Colin. “Your sister wanted to catch up with us after class today!”
Bellamy would have spat out his roll had his mouth currently not been empty. “Seriously?! Why didn’t you remind us?” he asked, not appreciating this sudden news.
“We were distracted by the presentation, it must’ve slipped my mind.” Colin explained. “Ahh, really sorry everyone. We have to go do some errands that we forgot. Nice to meet you all, hope to see you again sometime. ”
With that, Bellamy picked up the rest of his lunch, and he, Luke and Colin excused themselves from the bench, hurrying away. They hoped Sophie wouldn’t be too cranky with them when they caught up.
