“A privilege, really.” Whether a product of a conscious choice or sheer obliviousness, Manami had decided to take Aiko’s words to heart. “The fact that you’re still unscathed should be more than enough indicative of my current mood, though! I don’t tend to beat around the bush in matters like this one… or at least that’s what I’d like to think!” A soft giggle escaped the disguised digimon’s throat. By now it was probably an understatement that she seemed to be quite the whimsical being.
Of course, a measure of resistance was expected from words that could come off as unkind, but that was easily waved off. “You can call a rose by any other name. You can trample on it or submit any sort of humiliation you desire, but the fact remains that it still will be a rose regardless of what you say or do to it.” A fairly roundabout way to say that, at least in the present situation, the human’s input was more or less pointless, even if it was far from a mocking statement. Manami’s tone made it evident that those words were some kind of ancestral wisdom she had just imparted. Or… maybe not.
Reflections would have to wait some time, though! As of right now, the duo seemed to be quite in a hurry, even if they accomplished their goal of boarding the dark-looking Trailmon. The Trickmon was still fastened on the head of her wearer, smiling widely and pumping a fist up. “That was quite exhilarating! We got there in the nick of time, as it should happen in any tale worth telling.” a small pause ensued, and the question asked in her direction was taken.
“Oh, yes.” She answered offhandedly. “This leads straight into the Dark Area. I’ve not been there in a long time, so I have no idea about what’s waiting for us there, though! Ain’t it exciting?”
At least, that’s all the digimon would say for now, she hadn’t been pressed for more questions, so… well, actually. Manami had a doubt in mind when it came to this whole endeavor. “Why are you searching for this person so tirelessly, by the way? From what you’ve said, you almost don’t know her, and I doubt the payment is good enough for your trouble.”
Valid question, wasn’t it?
