Had she fallen asleep reading a book again? Watching a movie? Maybe. She had been staying up rather late studying her lines for the next performance. It would not be the first time Ichika had descended into a deep slumber and had eclectic dreams but never had she experienced any as real as this, or even as strange. One moment she had been in her bed and the next she was now here, in this glitzy casino, filled with strange and truly monstrous creatures. It was like something out of an urban fantasy novel, where the supernatural was hidden just beneath the mundane and the ordinary. That said, in her outfit that was a combination between the habit of a nun and an orca themed hood it was not like Ichika was exactly ordinary.
“Ah….where am I…?~ What stage have I walked onto…….~” It was a question she muttered under her breath, only to herself. Ichika began to take steps through the casino, absentmindedly taking in the sights, consuming everything within the gaze of her crimson eyes. Ah…ah ah ah! It was so amazing…so foreign….ahhh! She was not sure where she was or even if this was all real but the wondrous amazement of such a local…it was undeniable. In her rapture and madness induced disconnection from her surroundings, it was no surprise that she would eventually crash into trouble. She stumbled headlong into a random visitor to this casino, a monstrously tall figure.
Hey! Watch it! I’m close to the jackpot here…!” The Digimon, a tall figure wearing green tights, a black and white mask, a red shirt with a ruffled collar. Ah…! This had to be a play! This had to be a dream! It had to be a costume! Ignoring any and all risks to her well being, Ichika thrust herself closer to the Piedmon, reaching up to his mask with a manic look in her eyes. She put herself between him and the slot machine (ruining his odds of winning the jackpot that go around) before racing up to grasp his mask, to run her hands all over it, to feel its edge.
Yet, before she could determine if it was in fact a mask or not, the Piedom pushed Ichika to the ground, an expression of raw frustration and irritation on his face. He was 1000% percent mad, malding and seething even, over missing the chance to accurately stop the reels when he wanted.
“HEY! What was that about? You wasted my chance…!” The Harlequin digimon withdrew the two swords on his back and raised them upwards, threatening to bring them down upon the human on the floor. A normal person may have felt terror at this or realised what was happening but…why would Ichika be afraid? This was all just a play, a dream, a fantasy her unconscious mind had crafted. There was no threat here, no danger, no risk…ahhhh it was all so transitory…..! The look in Ichika’s eyes was an attempt at normality but there was such a disconnected element to it that was definitely NOT the rational response to have in this situation.
