Skills/Talents:
- Observant:
Michi since he was able to walk has absorbed much of the information of the world around him in a manner uncanny for most. While far from what would be considered a Photographic, Michi does benefit from having a photographic one. Able to picture and recall events in vivid detail for about an hour after he sees them within his minds eye. With some practice he's been able to hold onto this skill from a young child, maintaining it daily through mental exercises and techniques he'd been taught from tutors from a young age. - Math Wiz:
It's no secret to many in his school that Michi is a wizard when it comes to Mathematics, specializing in Calculus. He was good enough to compete in regional school competitions and even with his help win a couple of them with the help of his fellow club-mates. Michi is able to calculate complex arithmetic mentally without the use of aids, measure objects accurately at a glance and approximate their mass, proportions and even inertia. - Chess Champ:
When Michis' parents forced him into a sport as a child, Chess was certainly not what they were expecting him to come back with. Though he's no master when it comes to chess, developing the skill of anticipating events and calculating the likelihood of a limited number of actions has proven useful to him so far.

- Enough Candy.
Personality:
Socially: Michi is a somewhat shy and withdrawn creature, preferring to err on being seen and not heard for the most part. To the casual observer, Michi can seem misty-eyed or unaware of his surroundings, though assumptions tend to stem from the fact that Michi, unlike others seldom needs to observe his environment as it is, rather than be in a persistent state of remembering it, especially when he's going through his mental exercises, stepped in thought about which way a bird is statistically more likely to fly, with hopes of opening his eyes at the right moment in order to see if he was right or not.
Being alone brings out another side of Michi, a far more adventurous, curious side that has gotten him into trouble more times than the poor boy can count. Seemingly born with a magpies' reflexes, Michi at even the slightest sighting of something interesting will almost obsess over discovering more. Likely due to the fact that the near photographic image of the memory of the object borderline plagues him until he's able to achieve some kind of catharsis. This side of Michi is often revealed when he becomes comfortable around others, usually followed by a slew of borderline inappropriate questions. Contrary to what many may think, Michi is an ambivert at heart, though he may find loud or extremely extroverted people make him uncomfortable, he does find himself drawn towards them rather than wanting to be alone. Seeking social interaction in his own, bizarre awkward way.
Emotionally: Michi is a somewhat stunted creature, while he possesses the complex feelings and emotions as any other normal seventeen year old boy, emotional competence and especially empathy is not something he's particularly practiced in. Michi is more likely to remain confused and distant when presented with another emotionally charged party, more likely ask if there's anything that he should do in the situation than be able to independently act. That said, unlike many others who suffer from the same failure to read or understand some of the more nuanced social ques, Michi puts in great effort to better himself, as much as its usually his overthinking of such scenarios that leads to conflict and complications in the first place.
Likes: Michi values individual intelligence over most things, how smart he is has been his personal measure of success drilled into him by his family. Michi likes driven people who actively strive towards goals they deem to be important to, compare to those who would be more relaxed and carefree.
For a boy who's enamored with the strange and foreign, Digimon fascinate him. Discovering Digimon he's never seen before bring a twinkle to his eye seldom seen in all but young children around puppies and kittens. A trait that has put Michi in danger more than once in his lifetime.
Michi has a love of Candy, at all times the boy is seemingly able to draw upon a near limitless supply of chocolate bars, candy, gummies and even occasionally cookies from almost anywhere on his person.
Dislikes: Michi cannot stand lazy or indecisive people, often planning events minutes or even hours in his head ahead of time, waiting to act is something Michi finds extremely difficult. He would very much rather be wrong and actively doing something than correctly ascertaining something is a wrong move and doing nothing.
Boredom is the Devil at play in Michis' life, requiring to be engaged in some manner short of him being tired, the overactive boy's mind can find itself becoming agitated in times of calm or an absence of anything to do or focus on. To that ends Michi often brings a laptop or phone with him in case he requires stimulus.
Appearance:
First Impressions: At a glance, Michi is a slight creature that looks as though he would blow away in little more than a stiff breeze. Little more than 5ft tall sporting a hunger panged frame, Michi isn't built for athletic ability. He's slender with softer facial features giving the young man a more androgynous aura that seems to be exacerbated by his choice of baggy street-style clothing. Combined with casually poor posture, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that the boy appeared meek or small in a social setting.
Physical Appearance: Michi had always been a small person, a little underweight for his height and shorter than others of his age. A native Philappino, he has sun kissed olive skin and hazel eyes which allow him to slightly stand out of a crowd short of surrounding himself with others who use cosmetic tans.
Michi also has shoulder length off-white hair with the occasional silver highlight brushed among it, bleached and tailored to fit his tastes as opposed to his usual jet black hair. Though he often simply allows his hair to rest loose and unkempt, its occasionally tidied with a couple braids or plaits, or even into a ponytail depending on if his mother or sister got his hands on him that day.
Michi has no visibly discerning marks on his person other than a couple of lighter spots on his skin, peppered where the occasional birthmark sits.
Personal Style: Some level of wealth has agreed with Michi somewhat, he's usually seen wearing designer clothing from independent street brands. Preferring underdog brands from pop-up stores whose enterprises burn brightly only to flicker out and never be seen again. Michi likes clothing with interesting geometric shapes and distinct colours which pop to the eye. Often liking the fact that the shapes occupy his mind as he calculates surface areas or their circumference.
Normally, Michi wears a pair of designer headphones usually connected to his phone, either over his ears or hanging around his neck absently resting upon his baggy zip-up hooded jacket. Basketball style shirts with tapered slim fight surplus tactical cargo pants and designer sports shoes. A style distinctly prepared for comfort in the Japanese heat in the summer months.
Personal History:
Early Life: The Magindara family grew up in the northern Philappines, a location of constant cultural and political strife. Born to a loving family in a gated community he was used to seeing armed guards and mercenaries protecting the lives and properties of himself and his friends. Teachers and religious tutors would have to travel into the community and hold classes in the houses of his family and neighbours who lived nearby.
His Father was a Career politician as well as a religious man who worked outside their gated community and in the greater area, while their mother was more a home maker taking care of him and his older sister Icharii. Their life was not without danger, tenuous treaties and tithes were paid to local leaders in order to ensure their safety while the security forces employed by them would work around the clock to keep them safe from harm. It wasn't until he was ten that his curious mind led him to a Digivice that had been hidden away in the drawer of his father's desk. Simply wanting an effect of his father's while he was away, Michi kept it.
Becoming a Tamer: Once Michi's father discovered that a long lost prize of his was gone, he confronted Michi who confessed to having stolen it from his desk, but claiming that it was out of battery and didn't work. Taking it in hand, Michi's father activated the Digivice to reveal the small 16bit creature on its screen. Regaling Michi with fanciful stories about how he'd once traveled to a far away place with his friend at his side. Overcoming insurmountable odds and even saving a town filled with amazing talking creatures.
Mikhail became enamored with the stories, always asking for more whenever his father was around, and sneaking into his office and claiming it for his own while his father was away. Always trying to make it work for him, though it never did...
Until one day.
The Digivice's screen came to life in the dead of night one morning with a cheerful *bleep* that woke Michi from his sleep, looking to it on the table and seeing an egg on the screen. Taking it, he was now able to work the buttons. He could go to the Digivices menu and keep the egg warm, or walk it in the digi-pet style menu. The speckled blue egg that appeared to be little more than a couple of pixels dancing to and fro on the screen elated the boy enough that he would learn everything he could about the device. Playing with its settings all night.
It wasn't until the morning came that he heard his father wasn't coming home.
Meeting Hotaru: Michi cared for the egg on the steel blue screen as though his own life were intertwined with its well being, having lost his father in a political incident he clung to the stories he was told by the once so stern a man, driven into smiling with melancholy at the enigmatic tales. Desperately wanting to see what the egg became he couldn't pry his eyes from the screen when it finally began to hatch weeks later, only to have the machine turn off once again.
"Ugh, bzz w-where am I... bzz-bzz?" A voice would all but croak from a nearby closet, beyond the ears of the slighted boy who vigorously attempted to turn the device back on. It wasn't until a loud clutter of falling boxes and shoes had Michi spin on an axis to face the mysterious force. Fear, doubt, and anxiety welling up within him until a childlike voice let out a distressed yelp.
Initially thinking it was one of the neighbours kids having snuck into his room, Michi was about to open the door and chastise the invader, only to be met with a small, blue, jelly looking creature covered in shoes and unmoving, no discernable features upon it. His anger vanished instantly, curiosity consumed him as he leaned closer to touch the thing which would let out a groan in that same childish voice.
Michi would yelp in surprise, recoiling from the creature as its singular eye opened to take in the world around it. Summing up his bravery, he would lean close once more and dust the footwear debris from itself, holding out a hand to pick it up as it came into contact with him. A light erupting from the Digivice as the two made contact for the first time.
The screen leaped to life with a bit image of the critter in his hand, a Digimon, like his fathers! As the system prompted him to name it, he would look to it, calling it Hotaru, because of the tingling electric glow that came from its tentacles, like little fireflies.

His father, a career politician and mother, a stern-spoken home maker often pushed Michi and his siblings to the limit when it came to their studies. Michis success when it came to formal learning saw him excel further than his older sister in a short amount of time. By fourteen he was attempting college level calculus and was generally considered a gifted child. Competing in national level competitions by the time he was fiften, and when he left school at seventeen he was accepted into a University in Japan.
Recent Events: Michi rose through the ranks of his schooling quickly, notably gifted in mathmatics and exceeding his older sisters grades in a couple of years. Extension classes and tutors saw this talent grow until he was competing in Mathematics at a national level by the time he was fifteen, completing school at sixteen and applying to be accepted into a Japanese University lauded for AI and physics.
Still torn about loosing his father however, it was digging into his old stored effects he found signs of the dealings the man had been making with less savory local types. Following the trail however, got Michi into trouble with some of the same people that his father had meetings with, a gang of some repute in his space, one known for a particular brutality. His amateur investigation led to a confrontation outside the complex he lived in, and in that struggle, his digivice was damaged.
'Data Corrupted'
Hotaru couldn't remember anything after Digivolving into a rookie, being trapped in their Fresh state, only able to digivolve to their In-Training level occasionally. The event left Michi scarred... but determined to undo the damage his curiosity had caused. So, when the letter of his acceptance arrived in the mail, a chance to go to a big city where there were more resources, and more people. He was determined to go and see if he could fix what had been done...
He only hoped that it wasn't too late.
