Ryosuke sighed. How long since he had a handful of kids ever since Ryu was born? Well, he couldn't say they were normal kids. Besides, how could they be normal since they were two slimes, one of which looked like a metal ball and another looked like a black hairball. Thankfully, the playground near his office was empty so nobody could see these strange creatures playing like human children. Still, he couldn't help but smile at the sight of them enjoying themselves. He just wished that his son was like that right now instead of acting like a rebellious teenager.
"WAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"
Ryosuke's eyes widened as he turned around and saw the black hairball crying on the ground while the metal slime stared at them from the top of the monkey bar.
"Oh my..." Ryosuke muttered before he rushed to the hair slime's side and picked them up in his arms. "Are you okay, Taiyo? Come on, don't cry, young man." He started rocking the slime very gently like a human baby, enough for him to stop crying, much to Ryosuke's relief. Eventually, the metal slime jumped into his arms from the monkey bars and cooed alongside the hairball slime. "You know, these facilities can be fun and all, but you two need to mind your surroundings very carefully. I can't save you all of the time and there are times you have to endure the pain."
Ryosuke walked back to where he was sitting and continued rocking the two creatures. "Then again, you two are still too young to do so. Just be careful where you play, okay?"
The two slimes looked at the salaryman from his arms and after a while, they nodded obediently. Ryosuke smiled at their answer, but he looked up and watched the setting sun on the horizon before he sighed. "I'm still okay with taking care of both of you without Ryu knowing. But I wonder where your parents are..."

It seemed that Ryosuke would soon be not the only dad to be in the park as Mandrake, Lothar, and Circe began approaching the park. Circe was clutching Mandrake's hand like she usually did when the family went walking. Mandrake had parked the car in a parking lot not far from the park and they had walked the rest of the way. If any human saw them they would see two men walking with what looked like a five year old dressed like a character from a magical girl anime cape and all.
A sudden crying sound was heard and they picked up the pace seeing a human adult gently rock what appeared to be a Botamon while a MetalKoromon sat ontop of the monkey bars. It seemed the little one had fallen off while playing. Mandrake doubt the little one was hurt seeing as baby digimon were much hardier than baby humans. The little guy was likely far more startled than hurt. They continued to watch as the MetalKoromon also climbed into the human man's arms cooing.
Circe began tugging gently at Mandrake's arm as it seemed the little one wanted to play so they continued to a swingset not far from the monkey bars. There was a bench near both that Mandrake and Lothar sat on while Circe played quietly on the swings.

Meanwhile the park seemed to be empty, that's because it totally was empty when Ryosuke went in and was around it, there was absolutely no one save for the Holo-suited digimon approaching this was true. However this quickly wasn't the case as a small barely noticeable flash seemed to come from one of the slides nearby, lighting up around the middle and from the end came what appeared to be a stone-faced teenager sliding down the thing made for actual children, thankfully he was skinny enough to actually fit or else that would've been a very funny thing to witness occur. Stopping right in front of the slide he bent down and opened his hands up for another to slide towards him, grabbing the smaller human it was his younger sister, much brighter eyed then her brother even if they shared the same dull grey eyes.
"Wow, I had no idea your digivice could do that! Can you go anywhere? Is that why you come home so fast. Can I use it to go to school. Ohh can I use it to challenge some guy to a race around the world and beat him in a second flat?" The young girl asked several questions as her mind raced with the possibilities that came with utilizing her older brothers digital tech to her own nefarious advantages, huh she really was related to him after all huh?
"Only Shibuya, Yes. Maybe and no, get your own digivice." The tall teenager responded in his typical monotone voice. He walked around a little bit to get his barring's, usually this place was pretty deserted around this time so he had been using it for his digi-port. Being able to teleport anywhere in Shibuya was great but it did come with some active drawbacks that you would need to have an excuse as to WHY you were there in the first place.
Key word, usually. This time however he wasn't so lucky as the teen saw what seemed to be a human nearby, if they noticed them or not Shi wasn't aware. Though a small bit of panic sat in his chest it quickly vanished when the teenager recalled he didn't have his partners with him at the moment, they could pretty easily just lie and said they slipped in the park while the stranger hadn't noticed, no biggie. Still Shi gripped his digivice a bit tighter just in case, 5 minutes would be needed for another digi-port but he could stall that long if things went back.
Though he quickly shook his head ridding those thoughts from his mind, he was in the human world. He had gotten too used to having to think on his feet, they were in a park for gods sake there was nothing digital that would probably.
"Oh my word! Those look so cute!" The little girl said aloud as she ran up to the other human without any regard to whatever the heck Shi was doing, apparently, she noticed the small ball like digimon and from there it would just all go downhill to be honest. "Are those your partners? They look so small and cute! Shi did Yu and Yas look like that when they first came around?" Reading the room isn't her strong suit, so best wait and see what the stranger's reaction was gonna be to a small little girl, the most terrifying thing of all the universe.

Eventually, Ryosuke and the young slimes were not alone any longer as he found several people entering the park. As he noticed, he noticed that one man wore something that a stage magician wore in their performances and another who seemed to be a foreigner who seemed to be a bit scary to the slimes' eyes. They seemed to notice him and his strange creatures cooing on his arms, yet they seemed to mind their own business as they went to a bench near the swing set, but as long as they didn't know they were moving and thought they were toys owned by his son, he should be fine. (He hoped so, he thought.)
However, his relief was short-lived when a little girl suddenly came up to them and started to barrage him with questions he was startled to even answer. It made even more awkward when Ryosuke noticed that the black hair slime was about to cry again. On one hand, he wanted to satisfy the girl's curiosity. But on the other, he needed to act fast or he wouldn't able to calm Taiyo down again.
"Um... Calm down, I'll try to answer your questions. Just...don't disturb them. One of them doesn't like to be startled." Once he said this, Ryosuke slowly rocked both of the slimes gently to calm them down with no trouble. After that, he sighed and turned to the young girl. "I can't say we're partners. It's just...I found them in a strange large egg. It sounds crazy, but it's true."
Yeah, that made things a lot more awkward. If Ryu was here right now, he might call him crazy or blame him for drinking, despite he rarely drinks a lot in pubs after Ryu came into the world.

The silence of the park did not last long as when Mandrake and Lothar had barely sat down when a flash startled Circe from her spot on the swings causing the anxious and timid child to bolt to her feet standing on the swing before leaping ontop the swingset. When she got up there she squatted down clutching the metal bar white knuckling her grip from being so alarmed while looking around.
This whole thing happened in only a matter of seconds and Mandrake and Lothar were now on their feet spotting Shi and his sister. Shi had somehow not gotten stuck. As for his sister she had spotted the adorable baby digimon with the stranger. The strange adult man said the digimon with him didn't like to be startled. Speaking of startled children, Mandrake looked up to his and Lothar's youngest before walking up to the swing and gently said "It's okay, Circe. You can come down now. You remember, Shi and his sister. It's okay."
Circe seemed to hesitate for a moment before easing her grip and standing up before climbing down the chains of the swing landing on the ground. She then went over to Mandrake as he held out his hand and said "Come on. Let's go say hello." Circe nodded and took Mandrake's offered hand before he and Lothar made their way to the others. "Hello, Shi. It's been awhile. I see you have your sister with you again." Mandrake said in a friendly way while Circe remained silent looking at the unknown man while hiding somewhat behind her father her sapphire blue eyes seeming to be observing the man with the baby digimon with a hint of curiosity.

Shi casually made his way a bit closer to Mirai's side, taking off his hat for a moment and dropping it on her head covering the girls' eyes and startling her out of her questions for a moment as she pulled it up so she could see once more. "I know you're excited but cut back on the questions a bit, ok? They seem to still just be babies." Shi mentioned getting a small nod from his sister as she backed up a bit as the stranger started to explain what they were exactly, though they did it a bit awkwardly at the end there but honestly Shi couldn't blame him, after all he was probably in the same boat as him for a long time.
"You never told me they came outta a egg?" Mirai added but quickly covered her mouth, after all it wasn't more questions time it was more answering time, which was probably best to leave for Shi given he had more knowledge on this subject.
"Truth be told, doesn't sound crazy at all. I have a pair like them myself, though they came out the gate talking." Shi paused for a moment, almost as if he was imagining a blissful experience of them not being able to talk at least at the start, would've made so many things so much easier now that he thought about it. Though it'd just be one cry away from his mom finding out so best to rethink that everything proof strat.
"They're called digimon, the ones I know are these large cool dinosaurs that go, Rawghh and Oooah and Yuudai please get off the couch I'm trying to read." Well it would seem that the stranger wasn't half as crazy as he thought, either that or this was just a teenager and his sister messing with him which even if that was the case hey, at least they're humoring him right.
Speaking of digimon tho, enter Mandrake. "Oh, Hey. Has it? Hard to tell sometimes. Time dilation and what not." Shi waved his hand in the air fruitlessly gesturing at the weirdness of the digital world, his eternal clock was all sorts of messed up, maybe he should stop taking naps in the digital world? Nah.
"Oh right, my name's Shi Namika, this is my sister Mirai." Probably best to introduce yourself before spouting off about digital monsters from another world huh?

Thankfully, someone was there to rein the girl in a form of a young man who revealed himself to be her older brother. Yet, Ryosuke was surprised at what she, or rather, what they said. Not to mention they were aware of these strange creatures.
"T-Talking? Digimon? Dinosaurs? I don't really follow," said Ryosuke in confusion. But at least the siblings told him their names and it seemed that the men in strange outfits knew them. "My name is Ryosuke Yoshida. The black hairball-like slime is Taiyo and the metal one is Ken. Say hi, you too."
The black hairball responded by blowing bubbles to the siblings while the metal slime's tail started to flicker with red light. Ryosuke slowly chuckled at this sight. From their reactions alone, he could tell that Taiyou was a sociable type while Ken was quiet despite not being able to speak. If Ryu was here, he would get along with them considering his affinity with those slime monsters he played on his game consoles.
"So this Digimon your sister mentioned, what are they and what are their connections with these young kids?"
Ryosuke knew he was a bit rude with those direct questions, but he did want some answers and he genuinely wanted to know more about the young slimes on his arms.

It seemed Shi was able to reign in his energetic sister and that no one had seemed to notice Circe's earlier freak out or it could of made things more difficult to explain and the man seemed rightfully confused as it was due to Mirai's excited words but without knowledge of the subject such was bound to generate lots of confusion.
Neither Mandrake nor Lothar seemed put off by Shi's reaction to them as they had accepted Shi's actions as normal for him despite only seeing him a handful of times. Then the man introduced both himself and the young digimon with them. The baby digimon's reactions made Mandrake and Lothar smile as the young ones reminded them of both LJ and Lilly when they were babies though all of their kids except for Circe seemed sociable types by nature.
"Nice to meet you, Ryosuke. I'm Mandrake and with me is my fiancé Lothar and our youngest child Circe." Mandrake said indicating to both Lothar who was silently standing nearby but not looking threatening in any way while Circe was still timidly hiding behind Mandrake.

Right, they've managed to confuse him, good job team. Mirai looked confused for a moment, she was already used to this whole thing so having someone older than her not be able to follow what was going on was a bit weird to her, thankfully Shi knew exactly what the dude was going through given it had happened to him before, Mirai was probably just a bit too simple.
"Yeah it's all pretty confusing, basically I have two creatures like this. Their names are Yuudai and Yasuo. Found them nearly a year ago so sorry if we seem a bit too casually used to this by now." Shi mentioned running his hand through his hair for a moment, despite his emotionless tone and face he seemed to sympathize with the confusion.
When the small little creatures did their own version of greetings Mirai just responded with a wave and a smile. "Hi-Hi!" Mirai regreeted with a smile while poking at the bubbles a little bit letting out a small giggle as she did. She would also attempt to slowly pat the two of them on the head.
"The relation is that those two little creatures are a species called digimon. Which is a sorta digital creature that sometimes comes to the human world and partners up with a human." Shi mentioned pulling his hand out of his jacket pocket, his digivice still in hand as he waved it a moment to make sure Ryosuke noticed it. "By chance, did a device like this happen to appear when those kids showed up?"
Meanwhile Mirai had noticed that someone was acting timid, that was no good as the little girl. Instead of turning around like a normal person spun around for a moment pointing at the digimon hiding behind Lothar and Mandrake. "You're that girl from before right? C'mon out! We're officially friends now so lets hang out and play with these kids!" Mirai declared a friendship without consent, which Shi didn't even seem to respond to since that seemed to be absolutely par for the course with her.

Ryosuke was surprised. He rarely found same-sex couples lately and seeing seemingly looking foreign couples was somehow lucky for him. It was also surprising to see them having a child already, especially the adopted ones. Despite the strange quirks, they seemed to be a normal family in his eyes.
But back with the young man, his eyes widened at what Shi told him. Not only did he has also strange creatures like him, but it seemed he has two strange devices, not unlike him. "Digital...monsters? Now that you've mentioned it, I did find Taiyo and Ken's egg near my opened laptop. So that might explain a lot." Ryosuke then rummaged into his pockets and took out a white clamshell device along with a blue smartphone-like device with purple trimming. "If you mean these two, then yes. I found them surprisingly inside their egg. I initially thought these are toys someone lost, but I quickly doubt it."
While Ryosuke was talking, his young Digimon seemed to enjoy Mirai's company as Taiyo happily accepted her pats with a purr while Ken slowly backed away from Mirai at first while whipping his tail. But after looking at his sibling, he hummed and decided to let her pat his smooth metallic body just for the heck of it.

Ryosuke seemed to be confused but Shi didn't seem discouraged as he proceeded to explain more including bringing up that the little ones were digimon. He even showed his digivice asking Ryosuke if a device like his appeared around the kids. Apparently Ryosuke had a digivice mentioning it was near Taiyo and Ken's egg near his laptop. "If it appeared near your laptop along with their egg it is likely you are their tamer." Mandrake said after remaining quiet for a bit while Ryosuke and Shi spoke. "Lothar, Circe, and I are also digimon but Lothar and I are using devices called Holosuits to disguise ourselves. Circe just looks shockingly human even by most digimon standards. Her clearly non human traits are currently hidden from view."
Taiyo and Ken seemed to be accepting Mirai petting them. Well Taiyo more than Ken as the non metallic digimon was purring while Ken seemed wary but calmed down seeing his brother enjoying the attention. Circe squeaked in fright at Mirai's sudden movement the anxious and timid child clearly not liking the sudden movement at all completely hiding behind Mandrake. Meanwhile Mirai was trying to convince Circe to come out and seeing how stressed his child was, Mandrake said "Mirai, take it easy. Circe doesn't like sudden movements or loud noises." Mandrake then slowly turned to his trembling child and said "Would you like to play with the little ones, Circe? I won't go anywhere without you. I promise."
Circe thought about it for a moment before she came into view slightly trembling but still approached Taiyo and Ken carefully before sitting down near him. At least she seemed to be calmer around babies than energetic older kids and grown adults especially more so with adult females. Her trauma was going to be hard for her to overcome.

Yup, seems like the case is solved. This person has indeed come down with a case of becoming an anime protagonist. At least that's what Shi normally associated it with considering how it all seemed to work out most of the time. "Yup, that proves it like Mandrake said over there. For better or worse you're wrapped up in a new little world. Bottom line is usually just try and keep it a secret from most." So, typically not go out and play in the park but hey, can't fault him if he doesn't know. "Also yeah what they said, there are these weird devices that let those creatures appear human. They can come in handy." To which Shi paused for a moment before adding. "Just so we're clear me and my sister ain't digimon, at least I'm pretty sure I'm not, sometimes I wonder about her though."
Also Mirai was just going to town with the whole patting digimon thing, so much so she barely even noticed what Mandrake said about Circe not liking sudden movements. Which was a shame because 90% of what Mirai did was sudden and spontaneous but eh, what can you do can't please them all. "Sis, act a little calmer." Shi seemed to have a much easier time getting her attention, turning over and looking up at the teen.
"Got it bro, I'll act calm and collected." Mirai said mimicking her brothers own emotionless voice. Grey eyes narrowing slightly as she tilted the hat Shi threw on her head down covering her forehead slightly. "Though why is she so scared of me anyway? If she's anything like Yuu and Yas she should be able to lift an entire couch, also eat a whole birthday cake by themselves." As she said this the tiny girl lifted her arms, fruitlessly moving them around for a moment. "And I couldn't hurt a fly." Hopefully that would help prove her case that there was no reason to be afraid of her.
"Oh right yeah, be warned these things eat. Like a lot. I haven't met a digimon yet who couldn't out away an entire fridge worth of stuff if they really really tried." Shi mentioned to the new tamer, fair warning and all.

Ryosuke couldn't believe what he heard. The eccentric family right in front of him were Digimon?! Sure, they didn't look like Taiyo and Ken at his first impression since they mentioned they were using special devices called Holosuits to blend in, yet they were able to communicate with him like normal human beings. But he should be worried about that later as he stared at the young Digimon still playing with Mirai in his arms after Shi told him everything about what he got into against his will.
"I see. I guess I can't get away from this new reality. Not that I'm willing to since I'm worried about what would happen if I abandon them somewhere in the city." He shivered. He knew they weren't animals or humans, but they were still children and living beings in his eyes and there was no way he could abandon them. Not here, not now. "Although, keeping a secret might be a bit complicated. Other than my job, I have a son and I'm worried he might find the young ones by accident."
Then on the topic of Holosuits, he stared at the family again, wondering what they really looked like behind their human forms. Yet Ryosuke shook his head so he could focus on the main point next. "Well, do you know where I can get those Holosuits you mentioned?" He asked the Tamer and Mandrake. "I know I can just disguise them without it as plush toys, though I don't know how long Ryu can believe me for long."
After he joked a bit, Ryosuke gasped as he stared at his Digimon after Shi gave him another piece of advice. "Well, that explains how both of them managed to finish a plate of curry in one bit." He chuckled. "Guess that means I got a lot more mouths to feed. And a lot more budget to manage." Ryosuke groaned. That was the reason he was relieved that he has an only son. Trying to deal with too many mouths could hurt his wallet and paycheck.

When Mirai mimicked her brother Mandrake smirked at Shi's reaction to the girl's convincing impression. "Circe has some issues that might be hard for you to understand, Mirai. See Lothar does not share any data with her so is only her other parent in an adopted sense. Sometime ago her mother kidnapped me and managed to get a sample of my data to eventually create her. Lothar had rescued me from her mom and we didn't know she was born till sometime later when we found her abandoned and malnourished in the woods. Her own mother had beaten and abandoned Circe to die and would of if Lothar and I didn't find her. So now as a result her timidness is a result of severe trauma." Mandrake said as Circe reached carefully over and began gently patting both Taiyo and Ken on their cute little heads."Circe is very gentle as well just like me so that's one thing the three of us have in common, Mirai." Mandrake then said.
"Not all digimon eat a lot but many do. Mandrake and Circe both have fairly small appetites." Lothar said.
When Ryosuke asked where to find holosuits, Mandrake answered "Holosuits can be obtained in various shops in the Digital World. As for your son, if he is anything like Mirai, then he might take well to their being digimon in the house. As long as you don't reveal them to everyone having a handful of those you know in on it should be fine as long as they are people you know you can trust."
"Maybe, if you are any good at gardening, you could try growing a vegetable garden to help with the increased food budget." Lothar suggested to Ryosuke.

Mirai moved her head slightly to the side, obviously confused about what Mandrake was talking about, however the moment he started mentioning her being abandoned and malnourished Shi seemed to almost dash behind her and throw his hands over her ears to cover them up. Holding them there until Mandrake was finished speaking. "Look I know that's messed up and all, I'm sorry for her but. Mirai shouldn't hear stuff like that. She's only eight. Seems old when compared to you guys but I don't want my little sister having to hear stuff like that happens over there, Too." Shi's voice was still calm but there was a certain somber tone behind his voice. "Bad enough she knows I got hurt, hearing that would disturb her for a long time. Especially someone who looks so close to her age." Shi added before letting his hands drop from her ears.
"Huh? Shi! Why'd you do that I was trying to hear what happened to her?" Mirai was confused as she punched Shi lightly, which didn't faze the teen at all despite his lower-than-average durability and pain tolerance.
"She just had a bad experience with her mom, left her a bit shaken. similar to what happened between our Grandma and mother ok? Just go easy on her, she's been through a lot, ok sis?" Shi shortened what Mandrake has said to her before patting her on the head, for a rare moment a genuine smile crossing his face. "Even digimon have emotions Mirai, just because they're stronger than us doesn't mean they're immune to bad stuff happening. After all, remember how scared Yuudai was when you got lost? Same with Yasuo."
Mirai nodded before bowing her head in respect to Circe. "I'm sorry, I get excited fast. I do what to be friends though if you don't mind, I really like digimon. If I can I wanna be friends with all of them!"
Shi stood back up putting his hands back in his pocket as he turned to answer. "The digital world, their world, can be accessed from two places. There's an old trail terminal in the back of the train station, probably have seen it from time to time. That device opens it, just swipe it against the scanner and it'll let you on, second entrence is around the Shibuya River, small little access portal that'll react to that device."
Shi waved his digivice in the air for a moment showing a small warp looking symbol on it. "There's also some upgrades over there that can let you make your own portals to and from the worlds, also something that might help with the budget problem. Time moves a bit slower over there, a day here equals seven there and they have their own currency. You can do some odd jobs over there and get enough to feed those two." Shi put his digivice back in his pocket before shrugging. "That is quite literally the only way I was able to take care of mine on a college student's salary." And even then, he was hard up for cash half the time.
