In the main timeline, a lucky encounter with a mad scientist led the Xros General Octavio to discover that his daughter was still alive, eventually leading to the birth of a Xros Army that still remains a tight-knit family (of sorts) to this day. But that’s not why you’re here, now is it? No, you’re here to see what would have happened if things went differently, where Octavio never ran into Tartar on that fateful day. Well, let’s see just how that would’ve turned out, shall we?
Octavio:
Today had really been a long day for Octavio. He didn’t really have a problem with the human and the Calumon that had interrupted his attempt at fishing. They were good kids, and he didn’t mind giving them some pointers for the martial arts they were practicing. It wasn’t like he really had anything better to do.
No, the problem had been the Buraimon that had shown up to challenge the two kids to a fight. Octavio had tried to help during the fight, but due to being a mere Rookie up against an Ultimate, he got his tentacles whooped as you’d expect. The Calumon eventually managed to drive off the rogue samurai after turning into some kind of dragon, but the whole ordeal just made Octavio feel old (even if he was only in his mid-30’s).
Octavio had let himself get soft, merely drifting in the currents of life after losing his home and family. Well, that simply won’t do anymore. After that day, the ShogunOctomon would put in the effort to regain his edge, eventually managing to regain the strength to digivolve into a MarineDevimon once more. The old soldier may not have a specific cause to fight for quite yet, but he’ll find one. He wasn’t gonna let himself sit on his tentacles and let the world pass him by anymore.
