Two immediate problems had presented themselves on this, one of Alex’s first mornings in the digital world. First, she was still trapped in this strange, unfamiliar form. She was small, and bafflingly light. Her hair was blonde and far longer than it should have been. And the wings! Insectoid and translucent, they twitched and quivered of their own accord, sending her fluttering lightly with every few step.
This change was bizarre enough in itself. She was a stranger in her own body, albeit ironically not in the way she normally was. The second problem however, compounded matters rather severely. Whereas her unfamiliar figure was the first thing she recognized upon waking, it was far from the most immediately pressing. That dubious honor belonged to the swarm of buglike tentomon that had taken notice of her upon her noisy, panicked waking, prompting them to give eager chase.
“LEAVE ME ALOOOONE!” Alex howled, her wings showering the ground beneath her with shimmering dust as they turned every step into a fluttering little leap. She did not realize it, but she was moving far more quickly than she would have been able to otherwise. Of course, this also meant that her ability to judge distances was off… which meant she didn’t notice the waterfall-laden cliff in the distance before it was too late.
The beleaguered fairy’s panicked scream echoed off of the many fronds of the digital jungle as she tumbled over the precipice’s edge. Thankfully, the girl’s wings won the day once again; while her drop was precipitous, it really proved to be more a gentle glide than a straight plummet to her doom. Nevertheless, poor Alex did not exactly know how to control that trajectory in mid-glide. She did indeed manage to avoid the swarming tentomon, though she found herself rewarded with a large pile of leaves for her troubles.
“Blech,” Alex grumbled eloquently. Her legs and arms were splayed around her, caught in the mess of damp vines and leaves that sat gathered at the bottom of the waterfall’s basin. She took a moment to reorient herself, rubbing at her eyes as she tried to refocus on her surroundings.
“What the hell is happening to me…?”

"In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the Lion sleeps tonight." Clayton sang to himself in a lone tone of voice as he made his way through the jungle area, he was missing his usual hoodie and just had a black shirt on for now. In one hand he had the blade form of his digimon ally Zu, occasionally being used to swipe away some of the vines that threatened to wrap around him as he made his way through.
"In the jungle, the quiet jungle, the Lion sleeps tonight." A female voice seemed to echo from nowhere, but it was actually just the Zubamon Clay was holding singing along with Clay, he had basically been singing that song under his breath the entire time the two have been here so the song was basically stuck in her head at this rate.
"Wim-o-weh o-wim-o-weh o-wim-o-weh o-wim-o-weh" "Wim-o-weh o-wim-o-weh o-wim-o-weh o-wim-o-weh"
And in one of the rare moments that Zu let her guard down they were just wandering through the jungle singing along one another, while the pirate spirit in the back of Clay's mind lamented the fact that they were unable to sing along thanks to his accent.
However the singalong was quickly cut short as they heard someone yelling, something like 'Leave me alone' Which was alarming and caught the two of them off guard. "That doesn't sound good, C'mon!" Clayton threw the sword digimon into the makeshift holder he had and rushed off towards the direction of the voice.
They got around there just in time to watch something, or someone drop into a large pile of leaves. "Hey, anyone there? I heard shouting." Clayton called out as he ran up, he didn't see them within the vines and leaves at the moment, still though Clayton quickly pulled his digivice out of his pocket, holding it at the ready just in case something popped out.

There were voices, now - human voices, as far as Alex could tell. It should have been a relief, and yet horror gripped Alex’s heart for the briefest of moments. She couldn’t let anyone see her like this! Not while she looked like… whatever it was that she looked like.
Still, in a battle between shame and survival, the latter had a habit of winning out. “Here!” She yowled, her voice shrill. “I’m stuck! Please!” Gracious, was that really her? She sounded so…
Alex tamped down that feeling. Now was definitely not the time. She stuck her limbs out of the mess of vines and leaves, which currently had her ensnared in a sort of impromptu hanging basket trap. To the onlookers, it likely appeared rather silly; a cadre of skinny pixie limbs waggling from within a suspended thicket.

Alright, so there was someone. Following the yell, it was pretty easy to figure out where they were. Especially when he saw the little limbs sticking out of the varies vines and leaves around them. "Hold on, I'll get you out." Clayton threw his digivice back into his pocket before he attempted to try and undo some of the tangled vines, trying to be a bit careful as to not accidentally pull them and accidentally tighten around the poor digimon.
However, quickly realizing that his task might've been a fruitless one Clayton heard from behind him. "Clayton, allow me." It was once again the Legend arms digimon he had with him, backing off for a moment Clayton pulled the blade out before tossing her into the air, letting the blade hang there for a moment before it fell transforming back into the Zubamon landing right in front of the spirit tamer. "Watch closely Herron."
Zu stood with her claws upward, eyes closed for a moment letting out a short breath before slashing, regardless of if Alex moved or not, she would quickly find that the vines around her torn to tatters within a moment. With Clayton reaching out and grabbing them before they could hit the ground, only if they needed it. "Man Zu, always forget how skillful you are. You alright?" Clayton complimented as he hopefully made sure to ask if the stranger was ok or not
"Twas nothing Clayton, should I be unable to handle something such as this, I could scarce be called a legend arms." Well that would be quite a sight if you took it all in, talking transforming sword. Don't see something like that every day.

Alex could hear the pair well enough, though she couldn't really make out either of them from her tangled perch. It didn't help that a wave of blonde hair was firmly stuck in her face. Gracious, she had SO MUCH hair like this! She didn't have much time to ponder her predicament, however, as the sound of metal slicing swiftly through foliage whistled upon the wind. Suddenly, Alex found herself falling.
She fell like a stone, her diminuitive body twisting and squirming as it plummeted. Luckily, Clayton's arms were waiting for her as she fell. "EEEEP -- UNFH!" How dignified. Her wings crumpled, sending a little wave of pain through the girl. luckily, though, the things appeared rather flexible, bending and folding within her impromptu savior's grasp rather than simply tearing.
He was tall, she realized - much taller than she was, even in her real form. Like this, though? He had a good foot and a half on her at least. "I -- uh. Yes! Thanks for the assist..." She couldn't help but stare in surprise at the man. He wasn't familiar (thank goodness for that) but he was definitely human.
She supposed she owed the man an explanation. "I - uh. There were bugs," she said, gesturing vaguely up towards the cliff. "Like. Big, spooky bugs. Not like anything I've ever seen before. They were chasing me, and I guess I just sort of lost track of the cliff's edge... And, well." She traced a pathway from the cliff on down to their present location, before miming a little impact explosion with her hands.
"...So I guess - uh. Thanks. I was really stuck up there." She finally turned her gaze towards Zu, her eyes widening at the sight of the creature. It was... Well, honestly, she had no idea WHAT it was. At least the bizarre bugs and lizards that she had seen thus far had some sort of parallel to which they could be compared. But this? She supposed it looked vaguely lupine, but honestly that was stretching it. "Oh! And thank you, uh...." What sort of honorifics or descriptors did a weird metal sword-dog even use? "...yeah. Thanks."
It never even donned on the girl-turned-fairy that neither of her saviors would have any reason to believe that she was even human to begin with.

Welp thankfully Clayton managed to keep her from hitting the ground, he had to admit he hadn't seen a digimon that looked like this before but considering the wings and general appearance it wouldn't be a hard guess they'd have some trouble with a place like this. Either way that didn't matter now so the teen just decided to help her back to their feet setting them back down on the ground feet first. "No worries, We were just in the area. Couldn't really ignore someone in danger." It wasn't like him in the slightest to do that after all.
Though it was at her explanation that Clayton raised an eyebrow, bugs? Nothing like she had ever seen before either. "Nothing like you've seen?" That seemed a bit weird, unless it was a brand new digimon species or something but, she called them bugs. Not insect or bug digimon. "Like I said, no worries. Couldn't really leave ya hanging, er. Literally in this case." Clayton let out an awkward laugh at the accidental joke.
Meanwhile Zu had the subtle eyes widening, the pause between talking and thanking her. "Zu, tis my name. But my species is referred to as Zubamon" it'd be pretty obvious upon hearing that her tone and manner of speaking was more feminine than, literally everyone who has talked to Zu expects. "Forgive me but I must inquire, are you in fact originally human?" considering they didn't seem to know what a legend arms was and the surprise upon seeing Zu, it was a decent enough guess for the sword digimon.
"Yeah I was wondering about that too, actually follow up do you know where we are right now?" That was definitely a decent enough question.

Just in the area, he said! Like it was totally normal to just wander around in the jungle. "No! Nothing like I've ever seen! ...Mind you, that's a bit of a low bar, since this entire world is off the rails, but--"
Her protests were silenced by Zu's introduction... Or rather, the question that followed. "W-What do you mean originally?" she asked, her voice quavering a bit. "If course I'm human. I'm -- ignore what you're seeing! This is... I don't know what this is. But don't worry about it! My name is Alex, and I'm a student from Shibuya, and -- and..."
She sniffled quietly. Alex had always been a bit of a crybaby, though she was exceedingly good at hiding it in public. Right now, though, something was pressing hard on that part of her brain that let her emotions flow. The weight, the pressure to let loose and embrace her feelings... It almost felt sentient. And after the day that Alex had endured thus far, she was in no position to resist. Tears pooled in her eyes, a few rolling down her cheeks.
"Geez, I'm sorry!" she squeaked, reaching up to rub at her reddening face with the back of a gloved hand Unfortunately, the glove's claw tips, still razor sharp, made this task a delicate one). "It's -- it's been a really long day is all. I have no idea where I am, and I really need to get home... Not that I can even go home looking like this! I'm like four feet tall! And I have WINGS!"
...It was probably hard to take the panicking fairy-creature seriously. Her emotional woes were certainly real, but her diminutive stature and expressive, sparkle-clad face really undercut any gravitas of the moment.

Well Zu seemed to manage to hit the nail on the head, though her wording could of been a little bit better considering what followed after, the now dubbed Alex had started crying, apologizing for what was going on and explaining. Clayton reached over and patted her on the shoulder for a moment. "Hey, Hey. It's alright. Don't worry I've been in your shoes before, though I was stuck in the city when it happened..." Clayton responded before taking a small step back to give her some breathing room.
"My name's Clayton, I'm also a student from Shibuya. I, well. Might be easier just to show you." Clayton said as he once again brought out his D-tector, with a brief glow from the screen something appeared in front of Clayton, a large black sword embedded itself in the ground, looking almost see through, like it wasn't really there. Grabbing the hilt of the blade Clayton pulled the blade from the ground as streams of data surrounded his body, growing in size before dispersing, Clayton's human form being replaced by his Leomon X form.
However, the form was brief and in another large stream of data surrounding his body it was gone, replaced once again by the teenager's human form. "I'm in the same boat but, if I can turn back that means you should be able to as well. I'll help you try and figure it out ok? Then I can show you the way back to Shibuya." Clay still had his D-tector out in his hand but his other hand was set in his pocket. No sword anymore
"Tis a form few humans are capable of utilizing, there is no need to be afraid. We shall assist you to the best of our ability." Hopefully this would be enough to calm her down, or maybe it would freak them out even more, who knows!

Clayton's transformation was plenty jarring enough to shock poor Alex out of her teary stupor. Her eyes snapped wide. A little gasp escaped her lips. Instinctually, she took a few steps back, her wings fluttering and pulling her lightly off the ground for a moment. "Holy shit," she murmured, her voice quavering beneath the weight of her wonder.
Something within her twinged; an instinct, unfamiliar but undeniable. With a little squeak, she took wing, flinging herself upwards and back into the tree, where she perched upon a large, gnarled branch. She clutched a strange, spined lancet in her hand, brandishing it defensively as she stared down at the Leomon and his companion. All the while, her mind raced. Danger! Too strong! Flee!
But then it was gone, the form dissipating in a cloud of data as Clayton re-emerged from within. "I -- oh," she murmured sheepishly, lowering her weapon to her side. She didn't even seem to realize that she had leapt nearly ten feet in the air, her wings carrying her much farther than she could have managed in her wildest dreams as a human. She also didn't seem to realize that she had inadvertently coated the ground (and subsequently Clayton and Zu, in turn) in glittery pixie dust.
"Sorry! I just... You spooked me, there." She stowed her spear behind her, wringing her hands sheepishly. Shifting slightly, she moved her legs down beneath her, opting to sit upon the branch like a bench instead of perching upon it like a little bird. There was no disputing Clayton's words. Whatever was going on, he seemed to have some experience with it. What was more, he seemed capable of moving back and forth between human and inhuman forms at will.
"So it has something to do with this?" she asked, brandishing her pink and blue D-tector as it manifested from within her. She paused for a moment, wondering where it had vanished to in the meantime, only to be right in hand when she needed it... A problem for later. "I was holding this when -- when all of this happened."
She rubbed her swollen eyes, red from the crying, with the back of her gloved hand. "Alright... Alright. I'm alright. I, uh. Appreciate the assist, you two And I would appreciate it even more if you would help me find my way home." She smiled sheepishly. "So, uh. Which way to Shibuya? And which way back to humanity?"

Clay had to admit, he really didn't see that coming. While the new form was definitely a bit a bit more jarring most likely the fact that she brandished her lance at him made the teen take a quick step back as Zu quickly stood in front of him on instinct, but after a moment it would seem that was all done. Leaving the two of them coated in what seemed to be very glittery dust. Clay tried his best to wipe it off but that didn't work, Zu couldn't seem to get it to unstick from her armor, a bit annoying.
"No worries, I'm sorry I should've probably used one of the smaller forms I had, that was just the first one to come to mind." He did just get that spirit after all so maybe it was some unconscious need to show off that form, either that or he just didn't think about it, either or. "Also yeah, that's something called a Digivice, least that's what everyone's been calling it. Another term is D-tector for that one specifically."
"It may of activated in moment of crisis or concern, either that or unconsciously it was reached out towards for a connection, sometimes the initial change is more forced, it's hard to pin down the exact reason such a thing occurs."
"Yeah, first time I transformed into a new form I got full on possessed, knocked out but still moving around. A very, weird experience to say the least." Though if he was completely truthful the possession saved him from drowning but, probably best not to mention the fact that he almost drowned.
"Tis back the way we came, Clayton should be able to easily show the path." With that said Zu almost changed back into her sword form but paused for a moment, shaking her head and motioning her to follow, probably best not to risk scaring Alex any further with the whole transforming into a sword thing.
"Yeah, Eidetic memory. It'll be quite a trip but there's a resort town not too far from here. After that it's just two train rides and you're back at Shibuya." Clayton made it sound simple, minus the whole traveling another world thing it was tbf but best not worry her about that. "Just stay close to me and Zu, we'll get you outta here no problem."

"You make it sound so easy," Alex laughed quietly. "Wandering around in a jungle... Oh, you need to go back to Tokyo? Just catch the train that departs just west of the giant waterfall!" She rolled her eyes, a little giggle escaping her lips. "I'm still not convinced I didn't hit my head or something... I mean, all of this - it's impossible, right?"
She glanced downwards, towards the verdant ground below. A little thrill of terror gripped her. She hadn't really been thinking when she'd floated up here... But now that she WAS here, she needed to figure out how to get back! "A-Alright, here goes nothing," she murmured, before letting her lackluster weight slip from the top of the branch. She braced herself for a steep, sudden drop that never came. Instead, she floated lazily down to the ground, alighting peacefully onto the soil that awaited her below.
"Wow..." she murmured, wriggling her hips as she settled back onto the ground. Her wings beat happily, highlighting her minor success - and scattering another burst of sweet-smelling pixie dust. "I'm really this -- thing, huh? Not even close to human. Well! On your lead, then, you two."
She would follow the spirit user and his -- partner? Friend? random plus one? -- as they made their way through the jungle's depths... And presumably towards the aforementioned train station.
"...By the way," she asked as they walked. "Why does mine look so different from yours? N-Not that I'm complaining. I just -- this is... Quite the change, for me."
A nice one, she thought inwardly, a light blush coming over her cheeks as she did so. All things considered, she did feel comfy like this... Comfier than she had before, even. Clayton hadn't seen her human form. Alex remained for the moment free of the preconceptions that accompanied her human physicality. A queer little smile crossed her face as she walked. Somewhere in the back of her mind, the sprite that had lent her its form pulsed with happy contentment.
