Following the illusionary version of himself, Yuuki ended up back to the square zero. He's in Server Woods once more, just much more deeper than before. The brown haired teen's breath getting ragged from all the running. Honestly, mostly he already stopped his regular training and simply focused in morning jogging at least, so his stamina is no way on athlete level. Yet here, somehow his doppelganger always managed to outrun him every single time. 11 years old... he's still a short guy that haven't yet gone through puberty... so why is he slower compared to that brat?
He can't do it anymore. He's too tired. Yuuki fell on his knees, wheezing for fresh air. Dorumon finally catches up on him. The Digimon was really perplexed. Generally, Yuuki would try to be the one that prioritizes safety over all other thing, yet now... he charged straight ahead without any care in the world about the danger it might possess. Dorumon have no idea whether he should be happy... or should he be careful about it?
He have no idea... and like this... he don't think they'll be fine.

Mana knew that her curiosity would be her downfall one today. But until then, oh boy… it surely was fun.
She wanted to see with her own eyes the place where her brother and his friends had fought “A teddy bear who seemed to came out from a horror film” or something like that. I couldn’t have been that bad, she believed. Even if she had a deep respect and admiration for her older brother, she just knew that he was somewhat of a scaredy cat and that maybe he was just exaggerating stuff to make her to not to go to that “dangerous place” on her own… or maybe she was just too reckless, but she discarded the latter thought almost instantly. She was like the most careful person she knew.
“No, you are not” her partner said, as if reading her mind “You would run into a rampaging Monochromon headfirst just to say ‘your horn looks cute!’” she actually was pretty good at mimicking her squaling voice, Mana thought. If only Ayaka was a human, she would make a pretty good actress. Maybe there's a strange stuff that makes digimon look as if they were human? That would be a pretty neat thing to have... but at the end of the day, it was only wishful thinking.
“I only would do it if I thought his horn was actually cute!” the girl retorted, not really knowing what a Monochromon was and entirely missing the point her partner was trying to make “Anyway, this forest just seems to be your everyday digital forest, so maybe we can make a little picnic and return home… and you should be actually happy about it, Ayaka, I thought you loved forests” She was happy too. Finally she could be in a place that reminded her of her long-missed hometown, and if there wouldn’t be anything interesting to do, at least she would enjoy the sight while she could. As she was about to sit in a soft parchment of grass, she saw a patch of violet fur at the distance. Her curiosity piqued as she approached it, finally distinguishing what it was.
“FOXY!” she squealed as she ran towards the small digimon, while Ayaka tried to keep with her partner’s quick steps. But what Mana hadn’t seen as she tried to pounce and hug the little purple foxlike digimon was… that he was with a human. As Ayaka finally caught up with her tamer, the only thing she could do was to mentally facepalm as she deeply bowed as an apology to the pair. “I’m deeply sorry for my partner’s behavior” she apologized “I’m sure she meant no harm to anybody” she could only hope that Mana’s antics were not found offensive by the pair of strangers.

The moment Dorumon heard a voice that somehow directed at him, he readily smacks his tail to direction of the voice. Who in their sane mind won't be afraid of enemy's attack if that happened!? As he was preparing to shoot his Metal Cannon, he saw a... human girl that attempted to hug him and a strange Digimon he never saw before. What are they doing here? Also, it's really lucky that he haven't shoot his Metal Cannon to the girl. It'll get really ugly if he does.
"...Uh, hi." Dorumon awkwardly greeted. Yuuki seem too focused on regaining his breath to greet the two of them although he acknowledged them. The brown haired boy stared at the crest on his hand. Up until now, it's still unresponsive and nothing seem to be out of ordinary about it. It's just piece of rock inside a tag. Could this be a trap? Could this be just some prank or could this be his imagination only?
Out of sudden, his D-Terminal beeped. Inside, there's a message coming from unknown person.
You must be really bothered by the mirage's appearance, don't you?
You don't know whether it's real or not. Yet here, you somehow keep chasing the shadow of your past. What do you really wish? Is it power? Is it the happiness that you once had? Or is it... the power to realize your dream, that you now has tossed away? You have no reason to stay in this world, yet for unknown reason, you still press forward with your partner. What are you looking for? Without even a single bit of trust to your partner, why do you still stay in this world?
There's so many question, yet so little time...
If you wish to press forward, there will be trial for you. Prove the strength of your bond, and you shall obtain greater power... and maybe, the answer you're looking for.

As Ayaka apologized to the pair, Mana noticed Foxy’s tamer. He was a boy that she thought was more or less his brother’s age, but at least had a funnier expression.
She waited until he finished reading the message, and then, she tried to catch his attention. Hi! Sorry for not noticing you earlier! The name’s Tsumura Mana and her’s Ayaka” she then made a contemplative pause, regarding DORUmon with care, but immediately smiling afterwards “Can I hug Foxy-san? Pretty please? He’s just so cute! How come you’re so cute Foxy-san? You’re even cuter than Ryouta’s Babydmon! and he was already a ten in my scale of cuteness! That means you’re an eleven? Maybe I should check the scale again. Eh, nevermind”
As Ayaka invisibly facepalmed again at her partner’s antics, she tried to salvage the situation “What Miss Mana is trying to say is ‘what brings you two fine gentlemen to this forest?’. She’s here on her own accord because she wants to see with her own eyes the place her brother fought against a giant bear, even when that’s against his wishes. I couldn’t stop her, so I decided that the best course of action was joining her. You two seem to be rather hurt, maybe I can help you?” she offered “I’m not that accustomed to doing it, but I guess that would be a fine way to apologize at my partner’s intromission”
Sure, these guys seemed to be friendly enough, but they both seemed somewhat jumpy at their environment. Maybe they were searching for something? Or maybe something was searching them? It was a really good question in Mana’s mind, and she didn’t seem to mind asking it. “So, you two seem to be really into something. Maybe we can help? I’m sure we’ll have tons of fun! Ayaka can do some pretty neat stuff with her branches. You should totally show them, don’t you think, Ayaka?”
“A lady is not a meant of entertainment to anybody, miss Mana” said the Kodamon with a dead serious tone “If my skills are ever needed, I’ll use them, otherwise, we should stop talking and just hear these fine gentlemen out”. That seemed to somewhat settle Mana. Even though she was doing her pouting face, Ayaka knew that if she had her way, she would just become her unbearable self, so it was better to nullify the problem from the start. and salvage the not-that-bad impression they had already made to the two strangers.

Yuuki sweatdropped as the girl begin to rant on and on about his Dorumon. Cute, Dorumon just somehow grinned sheepishly. Despite him already hitting her with his tail, it doesn't seem the girl cared at all. He goes on and on how he's really cute. If he's Dorimon, probably he'll retaliate and tell her he's not cute at all angrily, typical to a little kid. However, as he's now a bit more mature than his in-training counterpart...
"Uh, yeah, sure, I love hugs!"
"...Really?" Yuuki asked, very skeptically.
From there, her Digimon took over. She seem to be the coolheaded one of the pair. The plant based Digimon obviously tries to salvage the situation when she asked their business. She said something about fight... fight, eh... fight... someone fought here, too? But the part about giant bear caught his attention fully. She did said her name is Tsumura Mana... so that means...
"You're... Tsumura-san's sister, right? That would be our group fighting against that giant bear. While most of my wounds already quite treated... I thought it's best to go to doctor. Dorumon is in much better condition than me, but still need quite a rest. There's no need for you to heal us, thank you for your offer."
The girl asked about him who searching something.
"Yes, indeed I do. I'm searching something, but best to not involves anyone. The message said that trial is for me, then... I cannot impose on someone..."
Is that the truth?
"I think it's also dangerous, too, so... it'll be really wrong to involves a young girl on this..."
You're afraid of getting someone hurt... so when they somehow attracted to you, you pushed them aside...
"Thanks for your offer, but I think we'll be fine."
Isn't that called presumptuous to automatically thinks everyone will get hurt when they near your regardless of their abilities? Until when will you push other people aside like this when they want to help you? Do you not have any trust to other peoples?

Mana hugged the Dorumon tightly “Aw, you’re so cute and fluffly foxy-san. Your fur’s so soft! I wish I could make a plushie out of it! She then heard the boy talk about someone called Tsumura-san. His brother, maybe?
“You mean Yuu, right? Yeah, I’m his sister… Oh, you were with him? Whoa, it seems that you got a raw deal in there” she then became somewhat concerned for her brother. She hadn’t seen him in that detail, and although this boy’s wounds were superficial, he had a good deal of them. But this stranger had helped Yuu, so the most natural thing for her was helping him too. It was the least she could do.
“You’re not imposing anything on me Friendofmybrother-san” she tried to be polite with him, although he hadn’t said his name yet “I’m choosing to help you on my own accord. And before you keep doing your macho-talk let me tell you that I’m no pushover. If you ever thought Yuu had an attitude, well, I can give him a run for his money. And Ayaka… well, let’s say that she gives me a run for my money”. And it was actually right. Since she had evolved into Kodamon, Ayaka just seemed to be way less tolerant to things she saw as impolite, and if her books were right, refusing the help of someone who was freely giving it was very impolite.
For the one of the first times in her life, Ayaka actually smirked “Threatening a person with the wrath of a lady is impolite, miss Mana” she started “But, she is more or less right, Friendofherbrother-san. If she is saying that she will help you, better to give her a real excuse and not some bland and overused speech to dissuade her, that is even more impolite that what she had just done. So… are we going to help you, or not?” At the end of her partner’s speech, Mana placed Dorumon back in the ground and started to pet him. He really seemed like a nice guy.

Well, even if you said that much... Oh well, let them do whatever they want. Yuuki nodded at that. Seriously, he's not used dealing with pushy peoples, but Karin got her share of being pushy, too.
"Macho talk you say... Well that's new," Yuuki chuckled. "It's just I don't like to pull peoples to my problem. I think, whatever my problem is, I have to do it alone if I can help it. All the more reason if the situation got way too ugly... I won't involves anyone. That's just how I play, but... Looks like I really can't dissuade you, hm? You two sure got quite the troublesome stubbornness...
That aside, I'm Itou Yuuki. As you know, that furry guy over there is Dorumon."
The furry Digimon waved his front paw, even while being hugged.
"Alright, hear me out if you want..."
Yuuki then started to tell them about his encounter with the younger version of himself who then gave him 'Yuuki no Monshou' (Crest of Courage). However, the item seem to be a counterfeit, or hoax, or anything similar. Rather than the item, Yuuki is more interested to the younger version of him that somehow guided him right through here. No matter what, he doesn't seem to be able to catch the younger version of himself.
"...And so there's this message..." he show his D-Terminal to the girl.
"...Basically the reason why I want to go alone."

Mana blinked at Yuuki’s words, Oh my god, this guy is just as boneheaded as they come, couldn’t he just understand like the simplest thing ever? “As I said, you’re not pulling or pushing me to anywhere” she repeated for what she felt was the thousandth time “I’m going because I want to help you, Yuuki-san. Seriously, it isn’t even that hard to understand. And you can maybe say that you don’t want to involve anyone, but you have already involved Foxy-san! Maybe you just wanna believe that’s your problem, and that’s alright, but then I will just have to make sure that nothing bad happens to him! He’s just too cute to be hurt by some random evildoer that I could have stopped!
As she made sure that she had made her point, she began to hear the boy’s strange history. His past self? A Crest? And a false one to boot… and a somewhat disturbing message. “Well, the voice has its degree of truthfulness, actually” Ayaka commented absentmindedly “Do not get me wrong, the message’s obviously disturbing, but there’s strength in numbers, and in bonds too. Think of it as a tree. One leaf can’t photosynthesize enough to feed the whole tree, but when all the leaves work together, they can nurture even the greatest and most majestic trees. So, Yuuki-san, what do you propose we do? We don’t have that many hints, and you were the one to experience all the weird stuff, so maybe you can use your leverage on the situation to think about a possible solution. Otherwise we will just wander this forest until nightfall"

Hoo, boy, another rash individual. Yuuki tried as best as he can to maintain his smile, but his mood has darkened. Perhaps it's because the younger girl's obviously odd choice of wording, but definitely he doesn't like it one bit. He want to kick this girl out from this kind of event, but definitely, definitely she still will come back to him anyway, so let's just get this over with.
"Ever heard of fair trade-off? That guy involved me in quite number of his selfishness, so I'm taking that back. Simple as that."
"He got point, I did do that and Yuuki saved me so many times." Dorumon said.
"As for that... I think the only way is to accept. I want to know what the younger me have in mind, but at the same time, it's way too risky. We're already way too deep inside the forest, and it could be fatal if we goes just like that in, but.... then, if accepting the challenge means knowing what I haven't known already, then... I guess I'll accept."
A static image appeared in front of them. Like Yuuki said, it really looks like him. The younger version of himself smiled happily, without any kind of burden. He floats idly, like waiting for the two to follow him.

Mana made as she hadn’t heard Yuuki’s complaints about Dorumon, daring speak only as the boy said what he planned to do about this weird situation. “Well, as they say ‘No risk, no reward’” she then smiled when Yuuki decided to confront her past-self’s challenge “Okay! Let’s just find your past self, then! I’m pretty sure that everything will be alright, I mean, we have both Foxy-san and Ayaka! They can just deal with almost anything than we could come across!”
But then, it seemed that they didn’t even had to search for younger Yuuki, because he had the manners to appear in from of them out of thin air. Mana blinked at the static-like younger boy with something akin to surprise but then returned his smile with an even bigger one of hers. “Yuuki smiling that way is definitely cute!” she then giggled at the Yuuki “Do we follow him? After all, it’s your choice” As she waited for Yuuki to make his choice about younger Yuuki, Mana wondered what could have changed his boy that much… he seemed genuinely happy and carefree, and the actual Yuuki… well, he wasn’t the total opposite, but he seemed to be a lot more… jaded, to say the least.

Even without Mana asked, he broke into sprint, trying to grasp the younger version of himself. The younger counterpart however vanishes, only to appear a split second later in front of them, where there's a strange cave. He grinned ever-so-carefreely, crossing his arms behind his head, like teasing his older counterpart. Yuuki chuckled bitterly at that gesture.
"...What? You're here to tease me about my usual attitude back at that age? Why can you still smile like that, I have no idea... you're me... therefore, SHOULDN'T YOU ALSO BE THIS BITTER!?" Yuuki yelled at his younger self.
The younger version of himself smiles at him sadly, his mouth parted, seem to tell the two something, but instead of normally talking, his speech are transmitted right to their mind.
Yeah, I'm you... I'm you, but at the same time, I'm not. I'm an illusion of a branching path... How long have you blamed yourself for that event? Long enough? Unlike you, I don't have five of them ready on my side... I don't know Karin, I don't know Ryouta... I don't know anyone else. And when six of us met, we're forced in a hostile situation. Yet unlike you, I embraced my fault, I know that I can't survive that world alone. I opened myself to other, slowly yet surely, I opened myself to them, and in return, they reached out to me.
...It's lonely, isn't it? You keep blaming yourself, and you keep pushing other peoples away from you, although in different way from Karin. Look at you, you never even actually acknowledged the Digimon beside you. I, too, has been on that route, but on the contrary, after my partner keep sticking to me, I accepted him. I don't want to be alone on that path. You're strong, stronger than me mentally, but like this, you're not helping yourself, you know? You're just pretending to be alright while your wounds bleeds more.
You're in a more fortunate situation than me. All six of you are already friends since long... Shouldn't that be enough to trust them?
"What are you talking about? I TRUST them!" Yuuki denied vehemently
No, you didn't. His younger self smiled sadly. None of them know what you've been, right? Not even Karin. And here she's supposed to be someone you hold dear the most? Isn't that pushing even the closest people to you? You lack that quality you used to have, Yuuki... Now you have a person that willing to share your burden right here and now, will you still reject her?
Yuuki bit his lower lip. The younger version of himself is correct... all of that... he still rejected everyone in fear of hurting them.
Yuuki, that crest is yours, but at the same time, it's not. It's a fake from I have no idea where, but if you managed to pass this trial, then like I said, the power is waiting for you. I can't stand looking at the other me like this, and so... if you won't tell your friend back there about your circumstances... and even your partner... then who will you going to trust?

Mana did the most obvious thing everyone would do about a teleportin’ young version of a boy that she had just met and that was leading them to a dark, deep and unknown cavern. And that was following him, of course! Smiling people never had bad intentions, that was like common sense 101! But even then, Yuuki seemed to be deeply affected by his happy counterpart. He started screaming at it, and suddenly Mana was sad about the boy… oh and a little afraid too, but a deep sadness about what had happened to Yuuki was the prevailing emotion on her head. Bitter? He’s only fifteen! Why he would have a reason to be bitter?
She decided to stand silently at the boy’s side, trying to find out what was the cause of the boy’s bitterness. His younger self made a sad grimace at them at started talking, albeit his voices undoubtedly sounded special. It was cryptic and deep stuff that Mana couldn’t understand clearly, but it seemed that someway, ghostly Yuuki said to real Yuuki that he didn’t have the friends he had, and mentioned Karin’s and Ryouta’s names too. It made sense, Mana guessed… even though ghostly Yuuki wasn’t as lucky as real Yuuki in that regard and he had lost the chance to make friends with that group, he didn’t surrender and tried to make friends nonetheless. Mana smiled at him when he told them he had succeded
He then told them that even he tried to reject his partner at first, but the digimon didn’t give up on him, and that was had made him accept the partnership eventually. Ghost Yuuki then said the real Yuuki was actually more fortunate that him that he had friends and that was stronger than him… and that he had no reason to not to trust them already, but that just seemed to affect Yuuki even further. He yelled at ghost Yuuki, saying that he actually trusted them, but even Mana could see that he wasn’t as sure as himself while doing so and ghosy Yuuki was really fast to correct his real counterpart.
It was kind of sad seeing real Yuuki so conflicted, even when most of what ghost Yuuki said seemed to be right. Mana’s hand reached for his shoulder, trying to cheer him. Even if he would pull everyone away, she’ll stand by his side. That was who she was, even if she had to say rough things like in the forest, she just knew that the boy needed her help. Hell, who doesn’t need help here and there? Most things are easier and funnier when done with company. If Yuuki could just understand that instead of just shooing away everyone, Mana was pretty sure that he would be way happier than now.
As ghostly Yuuki finished his speech, Mana began to feel nervous. Yuuki was at a moral crossroad. Will he choose to trust or just to keep with his normal lifestyle? She knew that she had no say in the matter, but that didn't prevent her from looking at Yuuki warmly, as if trying to soothe his troubled mind. “Look Yuuki, I won’t force myself in your business anymore. If you want me to go away right now, I’ll be on my way… But, I think that your ghost self is more or less right. I don’t know if I’m the most appropriate person for you to trust, but believe me when I say that I want to help you with this thing”

The girl beside him said it herself. He's still unsure, because who is she? She's just a stranger... a sister of someone who he knew literally for just two days, and there's no concrete relationship of friendship or anything. He's just merely a stranger... and yet, this girl still gently extends her hand to him.
Even until now, you're still worried? Can't you trust someone that truly want to be your friend? I understand if the girl is just a bit too much because you haven't even tell your other friends about it... however... what about the partner beside you? Will you just like that disregard his existence? Will you push even him, who waited for eternity to be with you?
Suddenly, beside the younger Yuuki, a static version of Dorumon appeared. The boy grinned at his Dorumon, who smiled back.
You know, your partner is more fortunate than me... the Dorumon began. I've been waiting, waiting and waiting in sea of data, waiting for the turn for me to reborn, yet I don't have that chance... Then, when I finally get to meet Yuuki... I'm really happy. I'm ready to burst into tears, I want to hug him, I want to protect him right there... However, Yuuki at first isn't the Yuuki I thought he'll be. But whatever, I don't care. Meeting Yuuki, fighting common enemies together, the fights we shared, our conflicts, the separation and then reunion... all of them are beautiful! I might be unable to be with Yuuki forever, but... I'm happy that I've meet Yuuki... all that waiting and all of that tears worth it so much... That's what I felt, what I will greatly treasures even if my body scattered into pieces of data.
Won't you trust your partner? Won't you trust your Dorumon?
"I..."
If you won't, then...
Suddenly, the data version of Yuuki morphed into the exact copy of his older self, just more physically fit and confident. He took out a white object from his pocket while a symbol appeared on his chest, which quickly shines bright, turning the white device's body black and the buttons goldish. Golden beam from his Digivice hits the static version of Dorumon right on.
Dorumon, Warp Shinka!!
The blue foxish Digimon goes through rapid changes of form before settling into a black knight form.
Alphamon!
The black knight Digimon stared at the two. Dorumon shivered. This Digimon, is far higher in form than the WaruMonzaemon he ever saw. However, even before he managed to act, the black knight Digimon's palm shone white... everything fade to white.
The next moment they opened their eyes, they suddenly transported to a school. Sounds of water splashing could be heard... It's normal as they're near the pool afterall.
"This is..."
Illusion of the past, a deep voice resounded, coming from the black knight Digimon behind them. There's no need to fight, and it's futile to resist. You can't change anything, you can't interact with them... You only have two choices once this end... to trust again, or to stop right here and now. This is your trial.
"What's so important in here, Yuuki?" Dorumon asked.
Suddenly, he saw the younger version of himself happily run to the poolside, greeting an older girl who just reached the end of the pool..
"Kuzu-nee, you did it! You're a second faster than yesterday!" the nine years old Yuuki exclaimed.
"I did? That's great! Thanks as always, for timing me."
"With this, you'll win the competition, right?"
"Of course I will!"
"...No, you won't," Yuuki bitterly corrected. His expression grows sadder and sadder every second. "You won't end up in the first place... you'll lose! And... and... it's because of me..."

And she thought that real Yuuki was boneheaded. Goddamn, he was much, much more than that. He just seemed to be untrustful until the bitter end, but that didn’t meant that they had to talk about her as if she wasn’t there at all, because she was there, and she could hear them! “Hey, who you call too much?! Maybe you’re the spirit of the past Christmas of the guy I’m trying to help out, but that doesn’t give you reasons to be disrespectful!” The ghostly Yuuki seemed to ignore her complaints and just started talking about Foxy-san. He too seemed to care a great deal about his partner, and even called forth a Foxy-san of his own!
This was just too weird… and new ghostly Foxy-san was lecturing real Yuuki too… his words about friendship, happiness and common hardships just touched the girl deep down and without realizing it, the tears were streaking on her cheeks. She sobbed silently, but noted that even at those words… Yuuki remained doubtful. So ghost Yuuki did what any ghost of your past will do in his place. He changed into his older version, made ghost Foxy-san evolve into a badass black knight and said knight threw a white light at them… and they vanished.
Mana had dealt with his fair amount of strange things during her life, but this one definitely took the award at the weirdest. They then appeared in what seemed to be a school’s pool and Alphamon —the badass black knight— was still behind them. He told them that this was an illusion, maybe a flashback, of Yuuki’s past. The knight said that this was his trial, but how could he take it, if he just couldn’t affect this illusion? This thing was just too weird…
She then saw even-younger-Yuuki with a stopwatch cheering at what seemed to be her older sister, as he called her nee. She seemed to be rather happy about her performance, and was mostly sure that she could win her competition tomorrow. Mana smiled at the girl’s cheerfulness, and then looked at Yuuki, who seemed sadder than ever. She’ll lose because of him? Uhmmm “Yuuki-san, I know that I’m interfering with your memories" she said without noticing her teary eyes "But you shouldn’t dwell in the past! Everybody can make mistakes for one reason or another! That’s what makes life worth living, Yuuki-san! Don’t you see? Even from the worst of the mistakes, there’s always something we can learn about them, and that’s what makes us grow as people! I’m pretty sure that whatever your sister did or didn’t do that day, she did it without regrets! You should think the same way as her, Yuuki-san! Even that black knight guy said it! You can't change the past, so the best we can do is learn to deal with it and move forward"
She geniunely hoped the boy would understand.

Yuuki chuckled darkly. He really felt like being lectured by three peoples at once. What the heck is this... why the heck is he even doing this? The first one to know isn't his friends, it's... it's someone he just met. Not just one, but three. How hopeless... Dorumon... he really cannot treat the Digimon as his longtime partner like the other him, the illusion of data.
"...My sister said something like that, too, but... it was supposed to be her last competition. She's deciding she'll quit swimming and focuses more on her school works. Probably joining student council or anything similar... she want to quit it with at least the last win..."
"S-she didn't got into accident or stuff, right?" Dorumon asked. To his question, Yuuki smiled bitterly. Dorumon's expression turned into horror.
"Despite it's not the kind of life-threatening incident, she... ended up on the fourth place, third from last... If it's already at this point, I guess there's no need to cover it anymore, right?"
The surrounding scenery changed drastically. This time, Yuuki is sitting with five other boys, laughing and happily chatting.
"I was... kind of... the strongest guy among my peers. I love to help around, meddling in peoples business if you wish to put it bluntly. I hate kids that got into fight with my friends, typical to boys of my age back then... And so, one of my friend... was bullied."
A beaten up kid walked to the younger Yuuki slowly. They seem talk about something until suddenly, Yuuki nodded and followed the boy.
"...Yeah, we were under assumption that it'll be peer-to-peer fight. I took Judo, so I thought, I can win if it's just against a kid of my age..."
The scenery changed again, this time to crossroad. Four kids, obviously at middle school level bullied Yuuki while two kids around Yuuki's age watches from behind, snickering at the sight.
"I'm an idiot... one of them called his brother, and his brother in turn called other boys. It's really one sided fight." Yuuki rubbed the patch of bandage under his right jaw. "...It hurts, really hurts. I guess if it's stopped just right there, I'd be still better than how I am now. Probably I'll just stop sticking my nose to where it doesn't belong, but... then... Kuzu-nee..."
His sister came from the other direction with her boyfriend, apparently just from her training. The onesided fight now evened out, but one of the boys aimed his kick at Yuuki, only to be blocked by his sister.
"... That bruise was bad enough to hinder her to win the first place... In fact the doctor suggested her to not participate..."
Yet she never stopped. The data version of Yuuki appeared, sitting near them. She never stopped because she believed that she'll win regardless of her wound. Neither you or me watches as she won the fourth place. It's sad, isn't it? We're afraid that she'll lose. We're afraid of consequences. Despite she smiled at us, we're burdened by our guilt. We never can look at her the same way again. That superheroine of a sister... wounded because our meddlesome behavior...
"Aren't you taking it too easily?" Yuuki bitterly accused.
No, I'm not. I've been in similar situation. Now, then... while I can't really do anything, you got a chance to salvage that even if it's just an illusion... The last part of your trial... You cannot trust a newcomer just like that, you tossed your partner aside... but can you trust your own sister?
The surrounding scenery changed again, this time on the time of the match. The younger version of Yuuki is nowhere to be seen. Kuzuha readies herself, seem hellbent on doing this to the end.
"...You... you cheater! You know nothing will change right here!!"
Really? The other Yuuki asked coldly. Isn't it because you're too afraid of facing that moment? I already accepted it since long... Now it's your turn. Do you have the faith? Do you think she'll lose right here, your superwoman who you always idolized? Will you also toss aside her efforts?
"I...!!"
The referee's whistle marked the start of the match. Kuzuha obviously lagging behind thanks to her hurting arm.
OOC: The next post from me will be the end of it.
