"So let’s review.”
Dim light poured through the blinds, covering the room in an orange hue. Shelves filled with both stuffed animals and figurines lined the wall opposite to the windows and a simple desk and bed covered the other sides of the room. A clock hung on the desk wall that read 5 o’clock. And it the middle of it all sat one boy and a large spherical object.
The boy recounted the events that led up to his current situation. This morning he had woken up a little late, 12: 32 P.M. to be exact, and ran through his summer routine of eat, sleep and play. It was just moments ago that he was surfing the web, looking up new models, when his monitor started malfunctioning.
At first, he thought it was just the old machine
going hay-wire, but ,as the static faded to give way to a perfectly still black screen, he soon learned otherwise. Digital wires blinked into the display, coiling together just as in a 3-D modelling program. The boy’s eyes were fixed onto the screen, not sure if he was surprised or scared.
As the coils developed, they formed an oval-shape:An egg.
The egg grew bigger and more developed in seconds. The boy considered calling for help, but the egg acted first. The screen exploded in a flash of white light before turning back to the still desktop that it had been moments ago. The whole scene seemed like a dream and there was no trace that it had ever happened. Relieved, the boy had leaned back, believing that he had imagined the whole thing. It was only natural that his imagination must’ve been going rampant for such an unrealistic event to happen. But of course, the giant blue egg that had mysteriously appeared on his lap said otherwise.
Conclusion: There was now a giant blue egg in his room.
He groaned, smashing his face into the palm of his
hand.
“Well, ain’t this fantastic.”

Kazemaru held the over-sized egg in his hand, examining every part of the surface. His curiosity had gotten the better of him and he was now carefully staring at the unknown object. After all, eggs didn’t just come out of computers and the last time he checked, his computer hadn’t become a chicken. He had, in front of him, an object that defied common sense and even the fundamental laws of physics. How could he not be slightly excited?Sure, the situation was dubious but a little bit of examination wouldn’t hurt, right?
After staring at it for a while and holding it in his hands, the boy came to two conclusions: 1) The egg was not in fact a figment of his imagination 2) Judging by the warmth and occasional shaking of the egg, something was living inside it.
“What are you little fellow?” He asked the egg, placing it on his desk as its weight was started to be a burden. As much as he feared the thought of something coming out of the egg, the mystery that surrounded it poured into his brain. What could possibly be living inside a giant egg? An ostrich egg would probably be about as big, but ostrich eggs, or normal eggs in general, don’t come out of computer screens. It had to be something that common sense couldn’t define. Maybe it was an alien egg from a not too distant planet? Something fantasy-ish like that. In fact, if this was like some sort of fantasy story, wouldn’t that make him, the one who coincidentally found the egg, the main character? There’d be some sort of enemy organization bent on capturing the creature within the egg. He’d have to fend off against waves of enemies, endeavoring to steal the mysterious animal from him, and of course he’d succeed. Eventually, he’d defeat the enemy and be regarded as a hero---
He abruptly stopped at the last thought and continued no further. A deep pain in his gut started spreading and his hand was clenched tightly, as if he was trying to crush the thought with brute strength.
“This is stupid... I need to take a breather.”
In a swift movement, Kazemaru had picked up the egg, gotten of his chair, and moved towards his closet. His dark eyes took a quick glance around out of precaution before he carefully stuffed the egg into the closet. He wouldn’t be able to hide the paraphilia forever, but it should buy him some time to think about what to do with the object.

Kazemaru trotted out of his room and made his way tothe living room of the small, 2-bedroom apartment he resided in. Immediately,he met eyes with his mother, who was peacefully sitting on the couch while folding some clothes.
“Where are you going off to?” She asked, noticing that her son was not in pajamas, which signified his desire to not be in the household.
“Cat Street. Just for a walk.” Kazemaru repliedcurtly, not bothering to stop to answer. His feet pounded quickly, bringing himever closer to the door. At that moment, his head had been filled with thoughtsof the alien egg in his room. What was it? How did it come out of his computer? He wasn’t sure but he felt like, if he stayed near it any longer, he would burnhis brain out thinking. Better to delay facing the problem as long as possible.
“Make sure you return for dinner okay?”
“’kay.” Kazemaru made a final glance towards the kitchen, as he opened the door, and noticed a pot on top of the stove. The chopping board left on the counter and the discarded meat packages in the garbage indicated the ingredients of meat and vegetables.
“Probably stew… or curry.” He thought before closingthe door on the apartment. He moved at a brisk pace, striding down the stairswith a purpose. It was only after he had reached the bottom of the stairs thathe had considered his lack of preparation for his walk. For emergency situations, he should carry his wallet on phone on him at all times.
“Let’s see… wallet check,” He grasped his leftpocket and confirmed a square, leather substance inside. “And phone… check.” He tapped his right pocket and was happy to feel a hard substance in it.
Little did he know that the item inside of his pocket was not his trusty phone but a device he had never seen before.
