Facing a New World [Sinn/Request]

Like seeing the finish line of a hard run race, Viktor breathed a sigh of relief as Ami came through with the portal. He quickly started moving everyone to the bright blue "door" as he shuffled behind them, letting every last survivors through as he kick a rushing Troopmon back. It was almost comical as it rolled end over end into a pile of rubble. Viktor cursed as another grabbed at his bad arm, forcing him to deliver a heavy punch that slammed the weak rookie into the ground. He rotated his shoulder as he cupped one hand and projected his voice;
"Genesis; Davayte, devochki! <Come on, girl!>"
Genesis cursed as she sent another MadLeomon into the wall. Though she felt she could fight forever, she knew that it was only a matter of time before she could no longer stand this. Plus she was certain she was already going to face Viktor's wrath for nearly disobeying. She was acting on foolish battle high, and unlike her, Viktor had been through that so many time he could keep a level head. He could see a bigger picture most people wouldn't. Viktor waited for her to make it into the portal before stepping in himself.
She leaned over, trying to catch her breath as she reverted back to Rookie. The "battle fatigue" getting to her which forced the fox to lay down at the edge of the cave they were holed up in. She panted and coughed, the cold air filling her lungs as she rolled over and looked to Viktor;
"izvinite <sorry>, pops. I got into the heat of the moment, I forget you always are thinking two steps ahead."
Viktor was having his arm examined by the cat while he was smoking a cigar,
"Ne bespokoytes' <No worries>. I've had a lot of people get like that."
Viktor rolled his neck as Koneka inspected his arm, sure it hurt, actually it hurt a lot, and he would out loud say if it hurt or not. No doubt she would have trouble reading his face, as he did have a high pain tolerance. When she finished up, he would do as instructed, be it to take off his jacket or shirt or turn in certain ways to assist in the healing.
Before when Koneka healed him, she inadvertently "erased" most of his tattoos, to make things even worse, the skin around the area was discolored and tender, but yet his face was straight, not a wince to be found;
"How bad is it, doc?"
Genesis walked over and bit her finger, it looked incredibly painful and no doubt there was a fracture and likely some internal bleeding. Genesis thought for sure Viktor would be down for months, as this was the norm for an injury like this. But the healing abilities of Koneka and the resilience of Viktor meant that he would back to normal in a matter of hours. Genesis would slowly walk away, chills up her spine as she walked to Valeria, giving her a solid high-five as she approached;
"You were AWESOME out there! The way you were tossing those MadLeomons around was something out of a video game! And when you came out all imposing and stuff! It was great!"
Genesis finally relaxed around the rabbit, be friendly and not trying to pull her throat out. Perhaps now the fox and the rabbit could be friends.
Hopefully.

It seemed that everyone here was just about at their limit.
It was hard to tell in the grit of it, of course: exhaustion and even grave wounds could go unheeded for minutes on end, as Digimon and human alike fought solely on adrenaline, rage and the instinct of survival on their mind. It was something that Koneka saw over and over: her patients fighting far past their limit, only to not be able to stand for several days.
"Hmm..." With a professional gaze, Koneka's paws brushed over Viktor's arm, analyzing the damage. It looked like quite the impact, remnants of concrete and stone still staining his jacket, as a very obvious bruise trailed down his entire forearm. A less disciplined nurse might have been quick to overestimate the damage. But in this case, Koneka actually managed to crack a smirk:
"Alright, take your shirt off. Don't worry, nothing broke. But," the Gatomon shook her head, holding the limp arm in her hand: "This is going to hurt like hell. Twice. So grit your teeth."
The extent of the wound wouldn't have been obvious to anyone not paying close attention. Heck, with that thick jacket, even Viktor wasn't liable to notice... but, as the garb was removed, the injury would be quite obvious. Instead of one of the bones breaking, the arm had been hanging out of its socket. Ramming side-long into the wall had thrown both his shoulder and his wrist clean out of socket.
And so, with a professional grip, the Gatomon started with the more severe wound: "One!" With a fierce shunt, it would be thrown right back into place, and Viktor's arm would briefly feel white-hot, an eleven on the pain scale, as the ability to move would quickly join him again. But, the cat wasn't done, paws flashing over to his wrist: "Two!" And with a pop, the same feeling would fill Viktor's hand, the fingers regaining their feeling, perhaps in time to strangle the one putting them back in place!
As that would settle, Koneka's hands would glow gently over Viktor's arm, the cat giving a small smirk: "I'll hem the bleeding like this; I'll treat it properly once we're done here. If you smash another wall, please use your other arm."
"Koneka can be... scary, can't she?" Ami blinked, looking over at the rather rough 'medical' procedure that the Gatomon was handling.
"No talking... just rest... ugh-hm?"
Well, Genesis was still a bundle of energy, wasn't she? From Ami's grip, the rabbit gave a small fist-bump to Genesis' high-five, before shaking her head at that comment: "No, not at all. I'm just lucky: there's nothing there that knows how to fight something like a golem. Fish in a barrel, you know?"
"Still not easy on you, it looks like-"
"-Because its hard to tell my limits. As a golem, I don't have air, or muscle, or anything... just going off pure energy. Don't worry, just need to catch my breath... ugh..."
Valeria hopped out of Ami's grip, and sat next to Genesis, 'professionally' slouching against the wall. "Viktor, I couldn't get a good look at that ball-thing. Did you figure out anything about it?"

To most people, hell even people with high pain tolerance, this level would be enough to make them pass out. And in actuality, that probably would have been the easiest scenario.
But nothing was ever easy with Viktor.
He grabbed some rope from his bag and placed it firm in his jaw, biting down as he nodded to the Gatomon, ready for the torment that was about to ensue. It was like someone pouring magma into his joints, while also shoving needles into his arm. Comparable to taking a bullet, minus the adrenaline. He gave a hard grunt as a loud, wet, muffled pop echoed through the cave. He began to sweat as he was breathing heavily and his vision was blurred. Everything was sharper, and his mind was in a defensive posture;
"What are you waiting for?! Finish it!"
As he spoke, the second shock came through, and what seemed like a grunt at first quickly became something else. Crying wasn't the word, nor was screaming. In fact, Genesis would call this "roaring" as the sound that escaped his lungs would put a lion to shame. No doubt everyone in the cave would feel it in their frame, and if not paying attention would have no doubt jumped.
Viktor cursed as he spit the knotted rope from his mouth and panted heavily, pulling out a bottle of water and chugging it;
"That hurt more than usual. Ami, can you hand me the anti-inflammatory pills? This is definitely going to swell up."
Viktor would wait to put his shirt and jacket back on, letting the cat heal his wounds as he would pop the pills and finish it off with the rest of the water. He would respond to the rabbit as he wiped his mouth;
"Yes, I spotted something...unusual about them. See when they spawned more Troopmon the sphere dropped its protective shield, only for maybe half a second, if that. But the Leomon took exactly five seconds each time. But I think it was spending the energy in more than one."
He sighed as he yawned and laid back;
"We have a twelve hour window to recoup and recharge, then we begin our final assault."
Genesis raised her fist;
"Oh yeah! Then we launch Operation Break-the-sphere!"
Viktor rolled his eyes as he rolled his neck;
"Everyone get some rest, I will take first watch. Valeria, you're up in four hours. Then Ami, then Genesis. Koneka get all the rest you can, we need you full strength."
Viktor pulled his shirt and jacket over his chest with his mask in hand. The visor was built in with lenses that could see objects through the blanket of snow. It highlighted anything that was "organic" data, to include Digimon. Also it kept his face warm.
They were close, so close that Viktor almost wanted to skimp on the sleep and finish this. But it was getting late, and no doubt everyone's body wasn't at their fullest. No need to throw yourself into the fire if you're not carrying any water.

[blockquite]As it stood, only Koneka was experienced enough to handle Viktor's reaction to his treatment. And it was a good thing too: the last thing Viktor needed was the Gatomon using too much pressure at the last second, and completely screwing up his arm! In the corner, Valeria covered her ears, and Ami closed her eyes, gently petting her partner's back.
"Hsss... ow ow ow!" Shaking her head as the 'roar' came to a close, Valeria muttered: "Dang it, rabbit-ears..."
"Pills pills..." Setting Valeria with Genesis, Ami took the pills, and tossed them over, Koneka catching them with a free hand and handing, at her discretion, double the regular dose: "Trust me here. This pharmacy crud isn't meant for the battlefield."
At the very least, though, they had a plan... but a rather difficult one, at that. Still healing Viktor's arm, Koneka's ear twitched at Genesis' enthusiasm. Even Valeria was smirking, but Koneka and Ami were thinking a little more practical. "Ami, you're wearing a wrist-watch, right?"
"... Yeah?"
"Pass it along to Viktor. While you guys are keeping watch, I want you all to know exactly what five seconds feels like. If we're too late, the attacks will simply blow up in our face... but if we're too cautious, we might never get a shot."
"Wait, why would Viktor need it? Didn't he say exactly five seconds?"
"Maybe. But for him to figure that out, he would have had to focus and count it mentally. If we can all time it naturally, we'll be able to solve this a lot faster."
Well, that made sense. Walking towards Viktor, Ami crouched by her side, and handed him her watch: a simple metal one with an hour, minute, and second hand. "Alright, take care on the first watch. Wake me up when its my go."
And with that, everyone would be settled and squared away. Well, everyone but one, actually: despite Viktor's request, Koneka stood by Viktor's side, keeping her healing aura pressed against his arm. She waited for several minutes, until everyone else was asleep, before turning towards Viktor: "They're doing quite well for their first outing like this, aren't they?" As a field medic, Koneka could sympathize a bit with Viktor's 'style' of fighting. Taking a small glance back towards the cave, Koneka sighed.
"I don't know how or why, but somehow you've managed to bring them all into action. I don't know if I should be terrified that you can do something like that, but..."
Koneka sighed. "When all is said and done, I'm kind of jealous of Genesis. Though I think we'd bicker way too much to be proper partners." Pulling back her paws, the Gatomon sat next to him, curling up at his side. "You took some big hits. I'll stay by your side, and check on you on every shift switch. If you wake up and your head feels hot, wake me up, and we'll get you real help."

This entire scenario was strange, well it would have been had Viktor not been used to it. In fact, this was the least strange thing he's seen since he was in the digital world. But being healed by a cat while a rabbit and fox slept with a girl in a cave in a mountain in a world made of creatures made of data sort of had the effect of coming off as strange. But Viktor couldn't complain, it beat the hell out of watching TV. He poked the fire he made as the cat spoke, smirking at her compliments and retraction as he gently petted her with his free hand.
"I do not doubt it. We are too alike, you and I. Genesis is...Well she is my opposite. She is everything I am not. Peace. Kindness. ...Innocence..."
The last words would have come out strange to the cat, almost like the word had meaning that only he could understand, and she would be correct. Viktor was a tried and tested man, but not without his losses. And he had lost a lot. He would quickly change the subject as he poked the fire a little harder;
"To be honest... It is actually four-point-seven seconds. I counted. The sphere would make a rotation every half a second. Even when it duplicating. I counted nine and a half rotations, and the difference was...Not really there. So five seconds if fine by all."
Viktor would gently scratch her back as he peered into the blanket of snow, their final push was in just a few hours. It was surprise anyone not used to this could sleep. They had a very real possibility of failure and that was enough to nerve anyone out. But yet, they slept like pups on a winter night. A snore here and there but nothing that would sway sleep. And Koneka was snoozing silently by Viktor's leg, despite the bone chilling wind that swept outside.
As hours past Viktor would wake Valeria and catch a few hours of sleep as Valeria would no doubt wake Genesis, then Genesis would wake Ami. And, luckily, the watch would go quietly. The running of a few random Digimon might cause a stir, but overall there would be nothing to report. Which is exactly what they needed, hell they might even find time to sleep in the quiet, lest Viktor find out and tear into them. Actually, he planned on it as he snuck out and did a little early morning recon, drew down the defenses and returned to the cave to catch two more hours of sleep.
As the team arose, Viktor began drawing the plans out in the snow again;
He drew a crude recreation of the town, it was perfect but it was accurate enough to get the point across. And spoke almost grimly;
"Against Koneka's wishes I did some previewing of the town and...there is a problem."
Genesis tilted her head: "Aww come on, pops! Davayte poveselimsya! <Let's have some fun!>"
Viktor calmly extended his arm and brought up his hand to signal "stop", and Genesis did with almost a pout;
"Uspokoytes'. <Calm down.> The sphere took all but six MadLeomon and...Absorbed them. And this may seem like a good thing but...The sphere IS a Madleomon but...Bigger. Much bigger. I'd say four or five times larger than the others. I am guessing his last leg of defense? Nevertheless Ultimates will not cut it this time. Genesis, Valeria, Koneka? We're gonna need Megas."
Viktor drew a "G" in the snow and and arrow at the head of a frowned face with a mane and teeth,
"Genesis, you're our front man this time. Literally just rush in and attack head on. Valeria? You are on flanking detail. Koneka, I need you to heal and assist, you can re-energize, da? <Yes?> Ami, you and I are going to stay down there in case we need armor or some kind of upgrade, there is a form after Mega, yes? Use it if needbe. The Troopmon are frail and weak, you should have no problem pushing one or two of them away, but do not engage."
Viktor continued to draw the plans as he looked at everyone to get an approval nod, and once that was complete he'd look to the village below and almost growl;
"Let the games begin."
------------------------------
Genesis was so excited! Finally she'd get to test her Mega form against an actual enemy! She wondered what it would be like. Maybe she'd be crazy line Valeria or calm like Zeo! The possibilities filled her with jitters! She rapidly tapped Valeria on the shoulder as spoke;
"This time if you bite me, I'll bit back!"
She gave a light laugh and hopefully so did Valeria, which might carry on for a second as she stopped laugh;
"I'm serious if you bite me I'll be making rabbit stew."
She would give a wink as she stood in an open field, Viktor watching carefully his black and red device pierced the fog of snow.
"Warp digivolve to..."
She leapt in the air as she spun, her form grew more human as he tail vanished and her ears and head turned into a helmet, a very human face appeared under it as she was standing in a full black bodysuit. Armor began to form around her and a staff slowly rose from the ground. She spun it brilliantly and slammed it into the ground as a sigil formed around it;
"Sakuyamon!"
Viktor was...surprised. He was expecting some giant fox monster or a Cerberus. Not a very tall super model with a staff and armor. He spoke as she stood several feet above him;
"Sakuyamon? I'm still calling you Genesis, Genesis."
"As you command, father. Now, let us deal with this wasted use of pure data."
Her voice was the same just...more commanding. It suited the form and unlike her rookie form, she was very serious and very straightforward. Viktor looked to Valeria and then the Genesis;
"I know how you are Genesis, do not attack until w-"
"Premature attack? No. I will wait for the command, I assure you, father."
"Khoroshaya Devochka. <Good Girl>. Valeria, Ami, Koneka. Do you remember your part?"
Again he would wait for a nod and a response as he'd turn to the village, which was not far:
"Genesis? Let us tango."
She smiled and spun her staff; "As you command, father."
With that she would leap high into the air and fly to the village, starting the assault as Viktor looked into the air;
"This is bizarre. It is unlike her to be so...serious. Perhaps it is the form?"
---------------------------------------
Genesis waited for the Final Madleomon to walk around, waiting for her moment to strike as the towering beast wasn't like the rest. His eyes had purpose, it had meaning. Something the rest of the creatures lacked. That in of itself was an issue because it denoted intelligence. And that was a weapon used exclusively by them until now. She was going to have to thing this one through and outsmart him. Genesis thought of hitting him from behind but she thought of Viktor and his plan. The plan WOULD outsmart the beast and she was supposed to attack aimlessly to draw the attention. But did Viktor account for this? Did he think about all the angles? There was no way he knew it all. But, she trusted him and he trusted her. She had to keep that trust.
Genesis came down hard with the staff as it brought both her and the beast slamming into the ground. She spun the rod several times before swinging upwards, knocking the beast onto his back as it rolled to its feet and roared. Genesis slammed the staff into the round and simply proclaimed;
"Talisman's sphere!"
The attack instantly vaporized three Madleomon as the Final reared back, dodging the attack as she spun the staff yet again and looked up;
"Okay then. Let's dance!"
As soon as the words left her lips she rocketed toward him with speeds so fast the beast could do nothing but blink as she railed his jawline. If ever Valeria was to attack...
...It was now.

Thankfully, the enemy still hadn't figured out this little cave as of yet... but really, why would they? It would seem that their analysis during the fight carried over to here: the spawned Digimon worked within the city, perhaps a certain range around the sphere, and couldn't function well beyond it. At least, that's what Ami picked up during the fight.
Ugh, no, that's not important. Focus! One... two... three... four...
It wasn't the easiest sleep for all of them: Ami, in particular, found herself tossing and turning at the thought of going into that fight. What if something went wrong? What if this turned into another catastrophe like the Dark Area? As much as she knew that this was something they had to do, a cloud of doubt still filled her mind.
Eventually, she would join the group and listened, as Viktor explained the situation. What he said, however, triggered a bit differently on Ami and Valeria's heads:
"... That's terrible-"
"Eh, so what? Now it has a face and a ribcage for us to punch. That should only make things easier for us!" Oh, she was ready for a fight, just like Genesis was!
"Actually, I'm inclined to agree with Valeria here. If its taken on a familiar form, it has to have taken on some of its weaknesses and strategies. Granted, it might be more intelligent... Valeria should still engage in ultimate. I've seen her fight: its still her most durable form." Koneka shrugged, and Valeria gave the cat a nod.
At the comment of re-energizing though, Koneka's fur frizzed up a bit. "... I can heal, da. But I can't improve your cardio. Remember, we're being drawn into a battle of attrition either way. Pace yourselves... and if anyone gets hurt, don't push yourself past your limit. We can't afford a single loss."
Loss. That one word made it real, Ami giving a sigh: "We're really doing this, aren't we?"
"Don't worry, Genesis and I are strong. We almost handled it on our first push, anyway!"
It wasn't like there was any way they could back out now! With the plan understood, the group would make their push towards Snowpoint once more...
"Oh, trust me, biting you is the last thing I want to do. Too much fur, ick."
"... How can she still joke at a time like this?" With a sigh, Ami briefly clutched her Digivice: in a much-less impressive display than Genesis' digivolution, the golden golem appeared once more, testing her footing in the snow.
"I'll hold back a fair distance, and smash into the enemies Genesis lures out."
As everyone else affirmed their role, they took their positions: Koneka perched herself on Viktor's shoulder, Ami standing back at his position.
Well, Koneka's guess was dead on: there was something different about what Valeria called 'Final', the giant MadLeomon towering over the rest. Right, she was to wait for an opening: still at ground level, she tore through the back end of the city, under cover of buildings, and cursed as a MadLeomon cut her off. Shoot, how was she supposed to get into position now? Genesis was already engaging... shoot!
Damn it! Giving the beast a right hook, the demented Digimon somehow managed to grapple onto her arm. There was just no way to get there in time... at least, not as an Ultimate! Swearing a bit to herself, Valeria 'bit the bullet' and, with a powerful red flash, was replaced by the mega-form, Adamon. With a swift flex of her palm, her smaller arm let forth a powerful explosion, rending the MadLeomon to data where it stood.
And, once more, she kicked off, just as Genesis would manage to go for the jaw-line. Coming straight into the clearing and reading the situation, Valeria aimed low: crushing one of her carnations in her hand, a flurry of blades shot forth, aiming to rend the beast's ankle!

"Three. No, Four are down now."
Positioned on a nearby roof; Viktor was watching with Ami just on the edge of battle as the two worked almost effortlessly to lay out the five standing Madleomon. He knew they would dispatch them fast but not THAT fast. This wasn't right. Viktor counted five. FIVE MadLeomon, he even double checked to make sure he wasn't feeding bad intelligence. He took a deep breath and spoke under his breath:
"Kuda ty ushel? <Where did you go?>"
All of a sudden Viktor's line of sight was blocked by the face of a MadLeomon. Staring right at him. It was right on top of them, and somehow managed to sneak around and flank them! There was no way to expect this. They never denoted anything remotely close to intelligence before, but now this beast managed to sneak around and was aiming for the tamers. Viktor would roll to his feet and help Ami up, should she need it.
"Poshli! Poshli! Poshli! <Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!>"
As the two would move the roof where they were perched erupted into ash and snow. The effects of the MadLeomon crashing headfirst into the building. Unsure where Ami went, the already unstable building came down around them, and luckily Viktor landed on soft layers of snow. He breathed a sigh of relief then grunted as he rolled, large debris crushing the soft snow where he was laying. With a rise and another grunt he pulled out his flash light and clicked it to life. Whispering for Ami quietly, just in case the MadLeomon was around. Hopefully she was uninjured. Viktor may know how to treat wounds and field dress, but to call him a doctor was like calling a Security Guard an FIB Agent. When he did find her, if she was still in the area, he would assess and patch any wounds she had, then start moving as several Troopmon took notice of their little stunt and started shuffling towards them.
"You are an ass, Murphy."
________________________________________________________
Genesis slid on her knees as the hook of the Final missed her by inches. She quickly spun to her feet as she back flipped onto it's back and gave several hard hits with her staff. Then, with one powerful push, she launched off the beast and landed gracefully near Adamon. Staff tucked into her arm as she looked up;
"Do not underestimate him, Valeria. He is stronger than he looks. I have an idea."
She dodged mid-sentence and slid to a hault, spinning the staff again as she spoke; "Distract him, please."
When Adamon would attack, Genesis would slowly rise and point her staff at the beast and utter a whisper that echoed like the wind.
"Izuna"
And just as the words echoed, her belt would release from her waist and the spirit of a Fox would wrap itself around Genesis. She smiled and widened her stance; Raising an open palm to the beast as the fox spirit would sweep low, causing waves of Troopmon to scatter like waves. It swung upwards, smashing into the Final as it looped back to Genesis and guarded her. She turned to see if Viktor was watching but what she was made her heart sink.
"Valeria! The building came down! The one that Viktor and Ami were on! I will go and see what happened. Can you handle him?"
_____________________________________________________________________
The Troopmon swarmed fast, not just one or two, but dozens in a matter of seconds. Viktor would guide Ami into another building to escape the growing hoard as they shambled to the duo. This wasn't a huge complex where they could hide, it was nothing but a small shack where a digimon once lived. But it had two entrances and that was the only reason to enter this sorry excuse for a home. He kicked in the next door as he stepped outside, only to stop and curse as he dropped to his stomach. A piece of rubble flew just over his head, just barely missing him. He would shuffle Ami back into the shack if she didn't push back. If she wanted to leave, he could not stop her. But he strongly recommended they push through the troopmon. They were weak, frail even. The MadLeomon wasn't.
He would speak over the sound of another piece of debris landing outside,
"It's a good thing his aim is bad. Come on, we have to push through the Troopmon. We are cornered."
Viktor was barring the door they entered through, waiting for Ami to either agree or come up with a better plan. But as it stood, they were mice cornered in a hole. And they needed to NOT be cornered. Viktor didn't believe in miracles, but this was the time he prayed for one.

"Don't be surprised; Valeria's a sports fighter, Viktor. Anything this simple isn't going to last long against her."
That much was true, anyway: unlike some, Valeria actually liked to fight, just for the sake of fighting, and had gotten into a number of rather ridiculous and complicated scraps because of it. This wasn't unique to her, but it definitely gave her the experience against these poorly programmed foes: at this distance, it just seemed like a matter of time before Valeria and Genesis took care of this situation-
Oh, hell. "Damn!" Had this been her first week in the Digital World, such an appearance would have created a panicked shriek from the baker's daughter. But, fight after fight and mission after mission had drawn some experience from her: at the sight of the Madleomon, Ami turned onto her back and started a slide off the back side of the roof. In the next moment, her platform gave way, causing Ami to fall forward, flat on her front side. Thankfully, the pile of dirt, debris, and snow kept her from being overly damage: a few scrapes and bruises, yes, but nothing that screamed 'bandage me now!'
She would let Viktor lead them on, trusting his instinct in this situation. Pulled along, and forced into a shack, Ami stood near the back. Everything was just going a bit too fast, Ami pulling out her Digivice in this first free moment. Viktor had a point, if they could make a break for it, they should... but if this Madleomon was smart enough to sneak up? That wasn't going to work!
"Ami!"
A voice crackled through her Digivice. Giving a look down, Ami blinked... As soon as the minute turns, count to-
"Viktor, new plan! Count to fifteen, then run back from the door, and take cover!"
She sounded certain, but why?
"Back there? Damn!"
Genesis' panic had drawn the attention of the medic! Hiding in an alleyway, Koneka bit her lip at the situation, and then sighed. "Genesis, no! Five second window - two of you need to fight! Unless one is clearing the MadLeomon, this fight won't end!"
Koneka spoke with certainty, but if this next thing didn't work, they would really be in trouble. Right now, Koneka needed more power than ever before, so she took her tail-ring between her paws, and closed her hands around them. At once, the cat's body began to glow, and with a ray of light, a new figure appeared high in the air: an Angewomon, holding a bow with a single glowing arrow.
There wasn't time to gauge this. She took whatever excess energy she felt she had, and poured it into this one shot. This had to work, but it also had to hit as many targets as possible. What was going to do that?
Well, Ami and Viktor were being perfect bait for it! Message sent, she'd draw her arrow...
A distraction was indeed made: even with a shield up, concussive blasts and impacts would still have some effect, though Adamon loathed to use a second explosion so soon after the first.
But its what would give an opening: raising a palm, a second explosion would rip out of Adamon's hand, and push 'Final' a step closer to Genesis' attack, before flying back at a distance. It would be just enough for Final to turn his head, and have Genesis' attack strike in full.
And with Koneka handling Viktor and Ami, she would shout back to Genesis: "The cat's got it! Sweep up some more Mads, and let's end this in one blow! I got two more shots!"
"Fourteen... fifteen!"
Ready or not, here it came! Hopefully, Viktor would be far enough away from the door, as a bolt, followed by an explosion of white light, filled the outside of the shed. Doors would rattle, and a single window in the back would be blown out, as both the approaching MadLeomon (the center of Koneka's target) and a large number of Troopmon would hopefully be incinerated in the blast. Either way, that was the medic's one shot: flying quickly forward, the angel would appear momentarily in front of the blasted door, before once more being replaced by a cat, motioning for them to come forward: "C'mon! We have to hurry!"
"Crazy cat..."

Genesis cursed as she looped back around and held her Staff over her head, making a blinding light to any who looked in it's direction. The staff burned a golden flame that, to her, was cool as ice. But to those receiving blows was hot as magma. If she was going to fight now, she might as well make it quick. She tucked the staff behind her and darted to the Final, brazing past Koneka as did a small hop and leaped into the air, tucking her legs in as she came around with a heavy swing: The sound of seering flesh could be heard as she hit him not once, but five times.
Genesis rolled under his swings and jumped over blows, trying to keep him distracted as she turned her attention to Adamon, hoping she was keeping him distracted as well. So long as the Final kept it's attention on them and not on Viktor and Ami, she was certain this would be a short fight. With another dodge, Genesis delivered a heavy blow then put out her staff, watching as the Final's burned face began to focus, and the most disturbing appeared she had seen yet. It's smile.
It knew. Which is what made this so unnerving. It knew it could take their hits, it knew it could still work with them and it knew Koneka was the healer. But worst of all. It knew about Viktor and Genesis.

"Thirty, fourten, fif-"
As Viktor moved away from the door, the window exploded in a storm of glass. Covering his head, the Russian looked up then cursed. The MadLeomon was donefor, but several Troopmon remained. Viktor helped Ami up as he looked around, the shack slowly falling apart around them and the other exit blocked. They're only out was through.
"We have to push through, Ami."
Viktor picked up the door and wielded it like a shield, getting Ami to shuffle behind him as he had no choice. Koneka was too far back and the shack was coming down on top of them. Ami would no doubt be behind him as he brought the "shield" up and rushed the group of entering Troopmon. He shuffled his feet as fast as they could move, prematurely grunting as he his size over the Troopmon, combined with his weight, was enough to repel the opposing force. Truth be told, there was only five of them and pushing them down to clear the shack wasn't hard. But the second to last one swung, shattering the door and splintering it in Viktor's hands. Being the quick thinker that he was, and more of reaction, the last one took a swing as well, but met the piece of the door into it's gas mask. Viktor instantly let go, unsure if he killed the beast, but didn't really care. It was out of his way.
The sudden from the beast forced him to roll, likely Ami as well as he looked to her and laughed at how much they've already had to go through just by sitting on a roof. When something didn't feel right to Viktor, and a quick turn of his head revealed a the Final Madleomon just inches from his face. Without hesitation, the beast roared to render Viktor's hearing temporarily useless. Ami might have been lucky and covered her ears in time. The Final raised it's claw to erase the two tamers and almost laughed as he did so. But, just as before, he was met with Genesis' staff. Which caused the beast to reel back. Away from the tamers.
"Koneka, get them to safety. We'll keep him off you. Valeria, we need to end this fast. And the tamers won't be any safer. I know of the form after this, perhaps we do that to prevent anymore issues?"
She was uncertain she could even achieve such a form, let alone retain it. But she had no other option as the beast would keep charging the tamers, and each time they had to react to it. Maybe Valeria was holding something up her sleeve, but at this rate, the beast would be dead in an hour or two!

"Oh, now this is just getting rediculous..."
Koneka's scowl accentuated her frustration with the current situation. Here she was, just in time to bail these two out, but now the three of them were in a rush to get out of the shack they had just taken cover in! It couldn't be helped - the arrow hadn't done the structure any favors - but they weren't going to last just running around from place to place.
With Ami following close behind, Koneka quite literally staring anything that tried to approach the rear off (via Cat's Eye Hypnotism), the two kept as close to Viktor as realistically possible. Again, it wasn't as if anything smart was after them-
"Uh... Viktor!"
Alert! Noticing it far sooner than the battle-distracted Viktor, Ami saw Final lumber over in their direction, Koneka catching onto it quickly as well! Showing her fangs, the cat stood between them, holding her paw at the ready. Despite her small size, this champion-level Digimon could easily knock a Greymon off balance, so perhaps it could deflect the claw? Thankfully, with Genesis' interference, it wasn't really necessary, once more knocking Final away from them. Adamon flew close behind, and hearing Genesis' words, the vampire glanced towards Ami.
Ami nodded, and that was Valeria's only signal.
"Alright then, Ami... I'll abandon the long fight." Adamon grinned, her remaining green and black gems glowing fiercely in both palms, the now-crazed vampire reaching up to her hair, crushing the remainder of the carnations in her palm: "Gen, fry a smaller Mad! I'm ending this in one shot!"
As soon as there would be an opening, Valeria would make her move, preferably right in front of Final, preferably with her hands aimed at his chest. She planned to fly headlong in, and right at the last second, unleash her two remaining explosions, and a torrent of flying carnation blades, unleashing all of her power and devastation into Final at once.
If he could shrug off smaller blows, fine. But why not add up Adamon's entire ferocity into a single burst? The thought of it caused the vampire to have a wild, dark grin:
"Perish! Ahahahaha!"

This was turning into a fool's errand. First he went deft temporarily, and then lumber was being thrown at him. Which was luckily caught by the cat that was following him around. With a few stumbles and shakes his hearing slowly returned, watching Genesis kick the beast away as she was cooperating with Adaman. With a tilt of his head, Viktor rushed into the next house. He needed to get out of sight and take the two with him as they were a liability. Genesis rolled under a swipe from the final's lethal claws:
"There are no more Mads! It's just us and him!"
The Final roared as he leaped at Genesis;
"No. It's just ME!"
She back pedaled and rolled to get back, pushing him off with her feet as she flipped backwards and landed smoothly, launching the beast high into the air. She would then turn to Adamon and prepare her staff;
"Now! Hit him now!"
Genesis had he fox spirit ready. Just in case she needed a few more seconds of hang time. It was on Valeria at this point. If she didn't miss, it would no doubt end the beast.
---------------------------------------
Viktor stopped to catch his breath as they were in the clear, just on the outskirts of the city, tucked away in a "cave" made by some destroyed trees. It was a hole, more or less, but it covered their tracks and their locations. This way, the Final couldn't rush them a third time. All it took was one lucky swipe and that's that. No more tamers. Viktor would roll his shoulders, letting his bag make a loud "thunk" as it hit the ground. Showing how heavy the bag really was;
"We should be safe here. Let the big kids fight it out. We'll wait for the all clear."
Viktor didn't even consider losing an option. Given how easily they fought the beast off, and how Valeria seemed to have a plan set out. It could be something as simple as just waiting for it to roll out how she planned. And at the same time, part of Viktor had to plan for the worst. The thought of them failing was very real in his mind. But that's all it was to Viktor. A thought.

"Its never been you! Burn in hell!
Adamon was already on Final's case long before Genesis directed her to be aggressive. With how this fight was going, Valeria knew that she had to throw as much power into this abomination as possible, and as quickly as possible: if there was any hesitation, the MadLeomon would spring forth once more, and these two megas would end up losing the long fight.
In making this decision, however, Valeria could think of none of that. No, with a wild, demonic grin on her face, the dark mega kicked up a wild laughter, all of her ammunition before her, chasing the beast straight into the air. She ducked a desperate fist, and planted both of her palms against Final's chest.
"Kehehehehe! Die!
Genesis would be looking at a massacre! With all of the remaining explosions, blades, and poison thrown forth, the gigantic MadLeomon was blown to bits on the spot. Data, limbs, and bits sprawled out in all directions before dissolving in a find, red mist, as Adamon hung in the air, in revelry and ecstasy of the fight. Oh, she wanted more... slowly turning towards Genesis, the look grew darker-
"Eheh... eh?"
A hand was brought up to her head, the mega replaced with her champion form. Below, just outside the warehouse, Ami stood, a light glowing from her Digivice.
"S-sorry!"
"Look around for stragglers! Good job!"
"Ami had to go back, to keep Ami in line. But it will be easy enough for them to keep track of just her, instead of us three."
Koneka was on the tail end of explaining this, having just caught up to Viktor, following him into this cave. Finally, she had a moment to get off of her feet: sitting down on a smooth rock, she gave a nod towards Viktor, and looked back towards the noise of the fight. Everything was thought through, and the screams they heard seemed to be that of the enemy. Perhaps this was already over, and hiding was quite a silly idea.
Perhaps-
"Huh?"
At once, everything seemed to go wrong. With a 'crack', one of the trees shifted, effectively locking the pair in this encampment. It was a sharp, sudden snap that did so, as if a load of weight had suddenly pressed against it. But... why? Blinking, and hearing a roaring noise pick up, the cat stood tall, and swore loudly. This fight had set off something completely unintended, and now the world seemed to be going to spite them:
"An avalanche, now... Vktor! Stand up straight!" Assuming Viktor followed this, Koneka would immediately be on the man's back: "And kick, constantly!"
This was the worst possible thing, but it was all she could think of: with a sheet of snow barrelling down towards them, they were stuck in the worst possible place, with no room to get out of the way!
"... What?"
The entire shift of snow caused the ground to shake, as it tore down the peak of the mountain. Of course, the path to the city was well guarded - they didn't rebuild this place every time there was a bout of bad weather... but...
"... Ami! Ami, where's Viktor and Koneka?!"
"... I don't know! They went on ahead!"

As Valeria stared at her, the shaman narrowed her vision and prepared to fight. She was still somewhat uncontrollable, and her look didn't sit well with Genesis. She spun her staff and tucked it behind her arm, ready to retaliate. But just as quickly as she turned, she was already back to normal. Giving Genesis a breath of relief as she nodded to Ami. Suddenly, the ground shook as Genesis morphed back to Rookie. The mountain's layer of snow was knocked loose and it was rapidly approaching them. She easily leaped around, and got up high as she looked for Viktor. Calling his name as she spotted him and Koneka. She quickly moved to him, but to no avail. Viktor and Koneka vanished under the wave of snow.
Genesis' world stopped. Her tamer, the man who raised her, her Father was gone. Just like that. A terrifying roar escaped her lungs as she stood atop a stable tree, leaning back as she began trembling, wiping her mouth as she slowly started breaking down, clutching her head as she began whispering;
"No. Nonononono!"
She hopped into the snow and began digging, hoping to find her lost tamer.
"Viktor! Viktor please talk to me! Say something!"
She dug and found his hand reaching from the snow; "Oh! Pops you had me scared!"
She helped pull him out of the snow and tilted her head as he felt light than usual. And, much to her surprise, she pulled only his arm from the snow. Severed completely. Blood tinted the snow a brilliant red as she dropped it and stepped back, coughing as she dropped to a knee. The fox began dry heaving as she looked at the arm, still coating the snow as she finally threw up. Coughing as she stepped back and gathered herself, examining her tamers arm and looking at the joint. It looked as if the ends were cut, maybe with a claw, maybe with a knife. She was unsure. The fox stepped back, talking over the wind as she looked to the two, who likely dodged and got to higher ground.
"We need to keep going going, Viktor is alive. I know it. We need to dig deeper!"
Genesis started frantically digging. Faster and faster as more than likely the other two try to pulled her away, Genesis would pull and away keep going. She had to find him. She. Had. To. Know.
-----------------------------------------
Viktor turned as he felt the ground shake below him, listening to Koneka as he realized what was going on;
"Oh dear."
Suddenly he was lifted off the ground, cursing as he was being tossed around, gripping onto the cat as he pushed her away they slowed, only for a long to land on the limb and twist it to the point of pulling it out of the socket. A wet crack followed by heavy grunts followed as the "chicken bone" sound echoed through Viktor's ears. He looked around, his eyes adjusted with the darkness. His arm was pinned, only held by a few tendons of skin as he knew pulling it would be worse. He quickly grabbed a sharp, frozen stone and sawed through them rolling away as a second rush took his arm to God knows where. Viktor tried to fight to stay awake, but the large amount of lost blood made that impossible. Viktor passed out in a pool of his own blood.
His bed was warm and soft. A calm voice was soothing him as the faceless person was gently petting his head, almost singing to him. Suddenly a cold wind shot him awake, his comfortable world ripped from him as he sat up, gasping for air. Viktor looked to Koneka and spoke;
"Were you...Singing to me? God I'm sore did I-"
Viktor looked at his arm and sighed, adjusting as he spoke again;
"So...What happens next?"

Of course, Genesis wasn't the only person that was distraught right now. As the Renamon threw herself towards the gale to try and desperately get to Viktor before it was too late, Ami and Valeria opted to hunker down in a building, to wait for the 'quake' to settle. And here, Ami tried to keep hope:
"Its okay... its okay... they could have gone a different way. Yes, they're hiding out somewhere in the city! Surely... surely..."
"... Ami..."
The champion-level fairy took a deep breath, looking carefully outside as Ami took shelter further inward. Thankfully, the shifting ice didn't end up making its way towards the city. Unfortunately, Ami's hopes were not realized. As Genesis' screams echoed over the city, Ami simply closed her eyes, shaking her head: "Damn it..."
"Come with me!" With that, Valeria led on, the two now looking over an entirely different landscape. Just outside the city's lines was a sheer, flat sheet of white, only a few taller trees daring to break through the canopy of this disaster.
"N-no... t-they can't be-"
"Ami, I get it," Valeria, rarely short of temper, shot a glare towards her tamer: "But we need your level thinking more than ever. Let's go."
"Val... ugh." Shaking her head, fighting back the tears in her eyes, Ami ran forth, towards the distraught, sick fox, Valeria landing on Genesis' other side.
"We need to keep going going, Viktor is alive. I know it. We need to dig deeper!"
"Y-you're right. Viktor is fine. He's been through worse... a-and he has the best possible Digimon with him, to be in this situation with." Ami tried to comfort the fox, as Valeria stepped forward, aiming to grab Genesis' paw.
"Take ten seconds to look at yourself. You'll dig down, and get stuck yourself, and we're sitting ducks out here. We'll find him, but not like this." With a fierce uneasy glare, she looked right at the fox's eyes: "Deep. Breath."
"... Koneka, please. Both of you... be somewhere down there, safe..."
"Ugh..."
A bit before Viktor, Koneka managed to open her eyes, painful consciousness slowly beginning to come over her body. It took her more than a moment to remember just what had happened, and another just to process her surroundings. Her back and arms were lying against a damp, rocky floor, nose twitching as it felt fresh air.
Slowly, she sat up, and immediately regretted doing so, a sharp pain shooting down her left leg. She fell on her right side, and took another moment to take stake in her surroundings. Lighting, unfortunately, was very poor: a sheer wall of gray filled one side of this cavern, the faintest of light pouring through. The sun must have been directly in front of where the entrance was:
Okay, so I fell into a cave underneath the avalanche. Status report... ugh..." Koneka took a moment to go over herself, stretching hands, testing fingers, running her paws over likely-damaged areas. She was definitely worse for wear, battered and bruised. The worst of it was her left leg, a length-wide cut slicing up her leg above the knee, and a great-ole cut on her right shoulder. Could have been worse, but it was far from comfortable- ah!
Lucky!
That would help, a bag! Viktor's bag! Modesty temporarily behind her, Koneka stumbled forward, opened the bag, and began to rifle through its contents. Feeling her claw find something round and plastic, she grinned, and pulled out out. After confirming that it was indeed a glow-stick, she gave it a good whack against the ground, a green glow filling the room.
And it would be then that she saw Viktor, just a bit deeper in the cave. "Viktor!"
"C'mon... c'mon..."
Koneka knew that she didn't have the energy to spare for this. Unfortunately, she didn't have the liberty to complain. She had worked fast, first quickly bandaging her own leg, arm, and a now-more-evident bruise over her forehead, before moving to focus on Viktor's far more grave wound. A towel was pressed against it, as Koneka forced her healing magic through the wound - something she wished she could use on herself - but it was all she could manage to even keep Viktor remotely alright. And in the end, the cat wished that she could do more. In this sickly green glow, she felt her power spark away, the cat hissing through deep breaths. Tearing away at what remained of Viktor's jacket, the cat carefully set out to bandaging the man...
... Which was, three hours later, how Viktor found himself waking up, under a blanket, head rested against Koneka's side like a pillow. The cat had done this for a reason: as soon as Viktor stirred awake, Koneka would be soon to follow. To be honest, though, Koneka hadn't managed a wink of sleep, by the time that Viktor rocketed up from his sitting position.
"Viktor, careful!"
Still on the previous glows-tick, Koneka sat up herself, and swore a bit under her breath as Viktor played this off. Hearing that almost delusional question, Koneka glanced away.
"... I was humming." The cat was honest: in times like this, she tried to distract herself. It wasn't anything that was meant for Viktor, but- oh, what was she thinking! Hearing Viktor's relevant question, the Gatomon responded: "Okay. We've fallen under the avalanche into a cave. I've dug through your supplies to treat you as best I could, but you're going to be in pain for a while... ugh... as am I..." Hearing that word in her own ear, Koneka sat, pressing her paws to her bandaged leg.
"... Next is... rationing..." Koneka breathed out, looking towards Viktor. "Your bag fell through with us, mostly in-tact. Give me an estimate, if we were to split, how long would it hold out?"
Koneka sighed once more. Even with the luck of this cave, this still wasn't going to be anywhere near easy. "I'm sorry to put it blunt like this, but we're stuck here until, well, I can heal and blast us out. Even then, its a crapshoot."

With a grunt, Viktor slowly stood up, using his only arm to shuffle through his bag and lay out the food he had. Luckily, he packed for two and for long periods of time. MRE's, bottled water and some dehydrated meat. He began counting as he was still trying to adjust to having one arm. Thankfully it was his non-dominant arm. The russian use his mouth to hold the bag open as he laid the rest out;
"Well, that's something we don't have to worry about. If we eat once a day, should last us at least a month."
Viktor stood up, and then shuffled back, losing his balance as he fell on his backside, cursing as he rolled over and sat up. The loss of blood was still throwing him off, and through the glow stick, he began opening an MRE, handing her one as he placed cans from the backpack along the wall, keeping them cold;
"Then if you need energy, eat double and sleep more. I can handle myself."
With another grunt, Viktor began collecting the cardboard from the MREs, setting them in a powder as he opened one of the packs and poured a little powder from the pack. He then flicked open his lighter and flicked it, but was met with a disappointing click. The ice had damped the wick, rendering it useless until it dried. By the time that happened they would be frozen solid. He pulled the flint from the lighter; a long metal stick that he held over the fire.
"Strike this lightly with a claw"
When she did, the Sparks would strike the powder, popping into a flame as the magnesium powder burned easily. Viktor trucked the bag away, using to keep the fire fueled just in case.
"You may not have to blast us out. Enough of these heat packs and I could make a bomb."
Of course, warning Viktor move around would have been awkward as he would have been doing so with one arm, struggling to open things and cursing to reach for others. He just hoped that the cat would be in better health than he. For their sake, at least.
---------------------------------
"You're right. He's a tough man to kill. And he's resourceful. I hope Viktor is doing well without his arm. Should we, uhm, take it with us? You know in case they could reattach it?"
Genesis' mind was still racing, but Valeria was right. If they started panicking now, then they'd never get anywhere. She needed to stop and think. And she did just that, looking to Valeria for help;
"If it were Ami, what would you do?"
