Charlie woke up to the droning sound of her alarm clock. She cursed under her breath and threw her pillow at the clock, knocking it to the floor with a muffled crash. I forgot to turn of my alarm clock on Friday for the second damn time she yawned and stood up, knowing more sleep wouldn't be an option. She Streched a bit then stummbled over to her suitcase, pulling out her Normal clothing to get dressed. She had only been in Tokyo for a few months already yet she hadn't got the chance to explore around due to homework and school. She slipped her cassette player into her pocket and grappled her old IPhone before she headed out the door.
The sky was overcast with clouds, casting gloomy shadows onto the city. She began her walk by heading down towards the richer neighbor hoods to browse at the fancy mansions. Suddenly she started to her beeps coming from her coat pocket. She pulled out her phone and turned it on to be greeted by a tiny, pixlated egg bouncing on the screen. Baffled by the appearance of such and odd thing she sat down on a near by bench to figure out the mystery. Must be an app or something she fiddled with the buttons but nothing did a thing. She grummbled in annoyance and shoved the phone back in her pocket.
She woke up the next day to be greeted by something even more peculiar. A small white and blue device sat on her side table were her phone was last placed. She picked it up to see the same egg on the screen, this time it was broken and only the shells were left. A compass flashed at the top of the screen, yet it wasn't pointing north. Confused and curious she quickly put on her clothing and left the apartment. Following the tiny arrow on the screen she started to head down towards the forest. Hesitant to enter she slowly crept under the canopy of thick leaves. Her eyes darted around, trying to spot what the device was trying to locate. A faint glow caught her attention, prompting her to move forward. As she leapt over a fallen log her gaze rested on a tiny, glowing egg with very peculiar markings. She picked up the egg gently and examined it. Suddenly, as if her touch cracked it, the egg started to hatch. It parted in the middle and with a magnificent glow a tiny, smokey gray puff lay in her cupped hands. A smile sprouted on her face as the creatures eyes opened slightly, emitting a tiny light. "I have no clue what you are but I'm gonna name you Kenny." puzzled about what just happened she slipped the creature gently into her pocket and headed back to the apartment building.
