The boys logic was reasonable, he supposed, but that still didn't mean that he liked it. As soon as Shi mentioned how he'd known that a tamer was there, a few things clicked into place. The twins in the restaurant had bugged him ever since he heard the word Digimon, since they reminded him of how Yui's partner's Loli and Pop had been disguised as humans! He vaguely wondered what they actually looked like.
Knowing that Shi had partners made him slightly less distrustful than before, but not enough to accept his offer of training. It was just just too suspicious. The other boy should have no way of knowing how long Kai had had his partners, so why would he assume Kai needed help? Besides, what help could he possibly offer anyways? Other than holding back Shiro's impulses, and not having enough money, he had things pretty much under control.
"No, I don't particularly want any help right now. Thank you for offering, though. If that is all you wanted, have a nice day." Kai turned and began to walk away. With how suspicious he found this Shi character, he had a hard time believing that he was offering training out of the goodness of his heart. Between the knowledge he shouldn't have and the unreadable face, Kai couldn't bring himself to think anything but the worst.
