Server Woods, the place of Lucemon's 'birth'. Where his Digitama had somehow ended up, and hatched, leaving him as a defenseless, clueless Fresh Digimon, in a dense forest of danger. Fortunately, Lunamon had been there. She'd always been there for him, until...well. Until.
Lucemon isn't sure why he came back here, after spending so many weeks by himself, exploring the surrounding area. A sense of belonging? No, that doesn't sound right. Maybe just to remind of himself of where he came from. Everything's kind of a jumble these days. Not that he plans to stay in the area, of course. He wants to fly further than before, meet new beings, and try to help them in the same way that Lunamon helped him. But.
He isn't strong enough. He knows that. Here in the forest, he might be able to hold his own against a number of the locals, but out there, elsewhere in the Digital World? He was nothing. There were Digimon out there that wouldn't even give him a second thought, and he can hardly help others if he can't help himself. Maybe strength isn't everything, but it sure doesn't hurt.
Lucemon stalks the familiar paths of the forest, more confused than ever why he's here. Everything looks smaller now. Or maybe he's just bigger. He spots a pair of young Digimon playing in the distance, and follows after them.
A pink blob, and a white blob. Koromon and Tokomon. All they're doing is playing, innocently, darting around trees and laughing. Lucemon gives a little smile. Maybe this is what he needed, just a pleasant reminder that life isn't all hardships and misery.
Mm? The laughter has stopped. Lucemon's eyes narrow immediately as he looks around, having momentarily lost sight of them in his self-reflection. No, they're not behind the tree he saw them playing near. Yggdrasil damn it.
His wings flare, as he begins to hover above the floor, gliding around and searching for the pair. It could be that they've just quietly left, of course, but it doesn't hurt to be sure. Hm. Footprints. Too big to be Tokomon's, and Koromon doesn't have feet. He hovers along slowly, following the trail, feeling...uneasy.
Not that Lucemon has any idea why he's uneasy, but he's learned to trust his gut feeling on such things. Damn it, can't he have a single day without drama and ridiculousness? Apparently not, as he spots what he's looking for. A brightly coloured red and yellow bird, around Lucemon's height, waddling away quickly, with Koromon and Tokomon clasped beneath his wings.
Lucemon watches for a few moments more, “Hey. Where're you taking those two?” He tries to keep his tone neutral, and nonthreatening. The bird takes one look at Lucemon, and starts waddling away as quickly as it can, squawking. “Grand Cross,” Lucemon summons a cross-shaped formation of ten superheated energy spheres, propelling with his mind. They shoot forwards, and impact the ground infront of the bird, causing it to squawk loudly and drop the two in-training Digimon, who scurry off to hide behind a tree.
Lucemon sighs. Sure. Don't run off and hide anywhere convenient, just stay right where he'll find you. He raises his hand and steps forward to address the Muchomon, hoping they can talk this out. Unfortunately, Muchomon doesn't seem to hold to the same line of thought as his angelic companion, and shoots forwards with surprising speed, pecking away at the humanoid Digimon.
That...was a lot more powerful than he'd expected. There's something weird about this one. Despite his small stature, the bird is able to dash around and peck again before Lucemon hits the ground. And again. And again. The blonde haired, feathered Digimon falls to the floor, gasping and clutching at his shoulder, “Dammit.”
His vision blurs a little. He can't remember ever being hit that hard before. Wait, is the bird going to destroy him...? No. There it is, waddling off towards those two again, squawking. He can't let it end like this, can he? No, those two could end up as a light snack or something worse. There's definitely no love between the two and Muchomon, as they spit bubbles at him upon his return. He isn't fazed, and pecks at them. Their smaller size allows them to dodge out of the way, barely, but it buys Lucemon a few seconds.
He's not about to let those two become prey while he can help it. They're just kids, aren't they? Right. “Divine Feat!” He pushes himself back to his feat and rushes Muchomon. As he moves, a glowing shaft of light appears in his left hand, slowly forming a blade made entirely of solidified light.
There's a blinding flash, after which Muchomon is left rolling backwards, and making all kinds of dissatisfied remarks. Well, that's fine too. “Cherubic Innocence!” With a flap of his wings, Lucemon covers the red bird-like Digimon in a fine coating of golden dust, freezing him in place.
Time to end this.
“Grand Cross,” He takes a deep breath, focusing, generating the cross-shaped formation of superheated energy spheres again. They seem to be brighter than before, and when they hit, they hit much harder. So hard that a dust cloud kicks up, although the result of the battle is quite clear.
Lucemon absorbs the data of his fallen opponent, even as he feels his knee give out. Dammit, that fight took more out of him than he thought. Maybe more than he had to start with. It was only a Muchomon though, and there was only one! It wasn't even a group!
As his vision blurs again, he sees a figure step forwards, holding a shining silver light, “...Lunamon?” His vision starts to fade. But before he slips into unconsciousness, the silver light connects with his body, sending a rush of energy throughout his form. He feels himself recovering instantly, as he fills with more power than he's ever had before.
“Armor Digivolution. Lucemon Digivolve to...”
His body changes shape entirely, losing its humanoid shape and becoming far more avian in nature. Gold and silver metal plating covers his body, as his feet change into sharp tallons, and he gains a number of whip-like tails.
“RaptorSparrowmon,”
This feels incredible! So much power! He's bigger than before, too. But...why? Muchomon couldn't've had that much data. Something to investigate later. The two younger Digimon thank him, and almost immediately go back to playing. Time for a test drive.
He spreads his new wings, and soars upwards, faster than he ever dreamed was possible. Definitely more maneuverable, too. Well, maybe this is what he needed to get him started. A kickstart to his adventure.
Not such a bad trip.
