The Adventures of AmaziScout and his Sidekicks. [Kai/Open]

"Mm. This way," Scout leads on, across the plains, following the arrow on his D-Scanner's screen, "Looks like it's over in that valley. It might just be a couple'a hours round trip, if we're lucky! Plus, it's a lovely day!" Stop looking for the silver lining.

He thinks, as they walk, trying to remember what he was planning to ask Kai. Something BlackAgumon had said the other day, when they ate all the bacon in the house... Oh! That's it. "So, what do Kuro and Shiro look like when they Digivolve? Do they stay sleek and cute, or do they get all big and fearsome, with horns and fangs?" He puts his index fingers on his head, like bull horns.

He's often wondered what BlackAgumon's forms look like, but they're never talked about. Maybe these are his only two forms? That'd be a shame! Silver lining: At least they're making good progress across the plains. Almost no-one in sight, and those they can see aren't crossing their path, or attacking them, which is excellent!

It also makes a nice change.

"I guess, um. While we're walking...would it be alright for us to talk a little too? I'd like to get to know you better. But I totally get it if you don't wanna share," Smile!

He's long-since learned that not everyone is as open and happy to share as he is.

"Oh, well I'm sure they'll get there when they're meant to!" Scout gives an encouraging smile, "I guess it's no different than my Digivolution. And I'm only just getting to the next stage and stuff, and I've been doing this nearly three times as long as you, right? So, I mean. Yeah!"

Stop.

Scout laughs at Shrio's antics as well. He genuinely likes Kai's partners. They're cute, and their personalities offset each other quite nicely. "Mm. What? Better at you than everything? No way!" Scout seems weirdly defensive. Maybe he doesn't like people having low self-esteem. "I refuse to believe that. You're smart, good looking, funny, enjoyable to talk to. Right, B?"

BlackAgumon merely snorts in response.

"...B says 'Yes',"

"Nope. Nonsense. Don't put yourself down. I wouldn't've called you if you weren't cool," Scout offers a smile, "My turn. Uh. What do I say."

He scratches the back of his neck, "Right. So, my D-Scanner. It literally fell into my hands. Kinda. I took some food to a homeless man I befriended last year, and on my way back home, something whacked me over the head and nearly knocked my unconscious. My D-Scanner fell from the sky and hit me on the head. I couldn't see anyone who might've dropped it, so I held onto it. I was planning to take it to the police station to hand it in,"

He pauses for a moment, "But. I was attacked on the way home by a Digimon, the first I'd seen. I was pretty scared. It must've been attracted to my D-Scanner or something, I suppose. Anyway, it activated and turned me into BigAgumon. That was enough to scare the Gomamon away,"

BlackAgumon cuts in, "Kid and I met when he saved my digicore from a couple of Vi-Elecmon. Charged right in and tried to talk them down. Pretty heroic, I thought. Didn't work, but he managed to scare them off when he changed infront of them. You should'a seen their faces,"

Scout laughs, "As for life? I'm a gymnast. And I'm trying  to learn parkour. What do you do in your free time?"

"Mm. I dunno how common they are. I've seen a fair few Digimon, but most have been attached to Tamers, in the human world. I've only been attacked there a couple of times. It's more common here, I guess. Um. But I'm sure that won't happen today!"

BlackAgumon chuckles, "And if it does, I'm sure the Kid'll protect you. Won't you, Kid?"

"Yeah! Wait. What? What're you implying? I...hngh. Oh, you, um, study a lot, huh? No hobbies or anything? That's fair I guess. Do you spend a lot of time with your friends then?" Scout smiles, but...would guess that Kai probably doesn't get out much. Not that that's a bad thing.

Scout's jaw drops, and for the first time since meeting Kai, he goes silent for almost a full thirty seconds, "All those clubs?! That's amazing! And those are all such cool things to do! You're so cool!" D'aww. He seems genuinely awestruck. But then, he hasn't met Renji. Apparently.

"Breathe, Kid," BlackAgumon seems to find the whole thing very amusing, "way to go, Other Kid, now you've gone and gotten him excited about you," He snorts.

"Shh. No, that's...but that's so cool! Man, gymnastics must seem super lame by comparison,"

That's fine, Scout has an outburst. It just happens to be focused on the thing making him uncomfortable, "That doesn't matter. Pfft. I wish I had the focus to go for so many things! Why're you trying to beat this Renji guy though, anyway? I'm sure he has his merits, but so does everyone. Nobody is better than anyone else,"

He nods, as they approach the entrance to the valley, still following the arrow on his D-Scanner. He swings it around a little to make sure it isn't just frozen. And then walks on.

"Besides, I think you're cool, Kai."
