The hunt begins! (Digimental Hunt) [Takahiro]

The sun was low in the morning sky. Despite Scout's best intentions, Tomomi and Takahiro decided to take the Trailmon and travel South instead of taking the river and hoping for the best. It was a nice trip together. Tomomi really felt like he knew Takahiro well now, considering the past 20 hours or so were spent by his and Petermon's side. Truly, the rivalry Kami harbored between himself and Petermon was silly at best. The little Demimeramon wanted to become as strong as Petermon so badly, he would stop at nothing to get there.
"Well, the D-3 is saying this is the way to go. Still, it's weird to be heading North after traveling South for so long..." The Digital World is indeed a confusing place. I hope we didn't pass it...I want to find this...digimental. This was Tomomi's golden ticket, the Digimental would be the way for Kami to get stronger. Strong enough to protect Tomomi and Takahiro. This wasn't an option, it was a requirement. Tomomi takes a long look at Kami. He's still at the in-training level. Why won't he digivolve? What's the missing key?
Being lost in thought has its consequences though. Like stepping on the base of a Numemon. This disgusting, green slime catches Tomomi off guard completely.
"Hey! Whuss do you think you're doingss! You're going to gets it from me!!" The Numemon taunts.
Demimeramon laughs at the Numemon, "Don't worry, Tomi. Numemon aren't too much of a threat, especially when it's just one! Petty Fire!" Kami fires a small burst of flames at the Numemon's gelatin body. Quivering at the sight of danger, the Numemon runs away. Phew, a threat that didn't require Takahiro to save him. Finally. Kami runs into Tomomi's arms, as Tomomi praises him, "You did great, Kami! You're getting stronger already!"
"Well, there's no need to be afraid of a single Numemon! It was nothing!" Demimeramon quickly responded.

“Well, um. They tend to be right about stuff like this. The D-Scanner's always led Scout to his totems without fail, and I don't see why ours would be any, um. Why ours would be less reliable,” Takahiro is walking closer to Tomi than he had the day before. He's far more at ease with the other boy now. It makes a nice change.
Petermon floats along behind them, keeping an eye on Kami, in case he gets into trouble. Still, he handled a Numemon. They might not be very strong, but Kami's still yet to really come into his power. Petermon offers no words or gestures as the enemy is defeated. The victory itself should be enough.
Takahiro offers a smile, “Um. C-congrats, guys,” He isn't really sure what else he can say at this point. Why is he here in the first place? Protection? Maybe a little, but mostly he'd wanted to spend more time with his new friend. It's not like he has many, so...
“Sh-shall we keep going?” Takahiro shuffles around a little nervously. Well, it's not like he and Petermon ever hug. Pfft. Takahiro clearly just needs more hugs. That's all. Although maybe the child murderer from a fairy tale wasn't the best choice. He takes a moment to check his own D3...nope. No compass or arrow, or...must not be anything for him. That's alright though. He's happy just to be here, but it wouldn't be right to avoid checking the...nope. Scout's D-Scanner isn't showing anything either. He puts it back in his bag where it 'belongs'.

"Thank you, Taka-kun!" The warmth of his voice hoped to sooth the worrisome nature of Takahiro. "I hope it isn't too far from here. I mean, I don't want to keep you out here too long on my account..." Tomomi didn't want to keep Takahiro away from his other friends and family for personal gain. Still, spending time with him was great. Even after I said terrible things...he still seems to care. I'm so lucky. A part of him believed Takahiro shouldn't be wasting his time around the likes of a confused, damaged person. "Let's go."
And that one step forward was yet another trap. Tomomi shouldn't be thinking of feelings while walking. A rope pulls upward, and a net wraps around Tomomi. He flies up into the trees, still able to see the group though. The Numemon returns with a pack of at least 99 others, which begin to fling poo at the group. Demimeramon shoots fire at the poop, but all it does is create a noxious gas that causes the group to cough in disgust. Poop was bad. Burnt poop? Deathly. Fortunately, the one perk of being caught in the trees was that Tomomi didn't smell the...nope. The gas rose. The Numemon drew in, and all Tomomi could think of was Takahiro. He saw Takahiro's eyes start to tear up, and this made him feel weak. This needs to stop now.
Demimeramon started to shine brightly. This was it, the moment they've been waiting for! Tomomi holds his digivice forward, "Kami! It's time to digivolve!" Kami started to spin, and light blocked out anyone's view of him. "Demimeramon digivolve to...Candlemon!"
The new digimon stood in front of Takahiro and Petermon, still floating, but having more of a substance to him. He was three feet tall now, and the body of Demimeramon appeared to be on the top of this new form, a candle, forming the rest of his new body. Candlemon saw a wave of poop flying towards them yet again. He breathed and and shot from his mouth a ball of wax which expanded midair. "Molten Wax!" The wax did the trick. The flying white wall blocked all the poop from hitting the group.
"Alright, Kami!" Who would have thought poop inspired his evolution?

Petermon stares, as many things happen at once. Takahiro sighs, and rubs the bridge of his nose. “I...don't know. Go help Candlemon. I'll...” He shakes his head again. He's starting to get a headache.
Petermon hops up to hover above the wall, and offers the Numemon a wink before emitting an ethereal whistling sound, as he had the other day, “Midnight Fantasia,”. With so many Numemon, it's a good job the sound carries. That should buy Petermon and Candlemon some time to mop up this mess, at least.
Takahiro starts to climb the tree, awkwardly. He's not the athlete his brother is, after all. “For, um. For the record...I wouldn't mind if it was miles and miles from here,” He fishes through his pockets and bag for...aha! A knife. Not particularly sharp, but since Petermon's busy... He starts slowly, slowly hacking away. “You might drop, by the way. Unless Petermon catches you,” It's not that far, surely, “But, um. You're not...keeping me out or, uh. Anything. I don't have anything to do besides sit home and read,”
Poor boy.

Candlemon gets super excited at the prospect of fighting with Petermon, instead of letting him do all the hard work. He flies into the rush of the Numemon. He starts to spin gracefully around, as fireballs shoot from his fingers, "Flame Bomber!" The fireballs hit the Numemon left and right, damaging them pretty well, but not destroying them. He quickly looks up to Petermon, and hopes he can finish the job. But who is Candlemon kidding? Petermon will be able to no problem. "Oi, Tomi! Did you see how cool I am??" Candlemon boasts.
Tomomi looks at Takahiro and can't help but laugh at himself, "Well, I'm sure this is slightly more fun than a book." He looks at Takahiro leans in so that Takahiro stops cutting. He's uncomfortably close. But that's what happens when Tomomi tries to be super serious, "One day Taka-kun, I will be the one rescuing you. That's a promise." The sunlight hit Tomomi's eyes when he says this, and they sparkle. Tomomi turns his attention to Candlemon.
"You're doing great, Kami!"

"T-Tomi-Sama..." His cheeks tinge pink again! How adorable. “...I, um. I'm not...you don't need rescuing. You're just, uh. L-Letting me practice my rope-cutting skills,” He covers for the other boy. He has to look away from those yes. Dammit.
Petermon offers a slight nod of recognition, “Midnight Masquerade,” His image flickers again and disappears. This time, not focused on a single target, he's able to strike many of them as he travels around at ludicrous speeds, appearing as little more than a blur. He eventually returns to Candlemon's side, striking an elegant pose.
Takahiro doesn't bother checking how the battle's going, even. He knows Petermon is more than capable, and Candlemon's extra firepower should help expedite things even further! Who needs to be worried about anything. Gulp.

The Numemon start to sporadically burst into data as Candlemon strikes a pose with Petermon, one of goofy porportions. He raises his arms up but keeps his hands pointing down, as to make the letter M. The sun hits the pair from behind as Candlemon spurts out, "And that's what happens when you try to trifle with justice!!" Candlemon is as cheesy as tub of Kraft.
Up above, Tomomi tries to catch Takahiro's gaze one more time, but he distracts himself into the rope way too well. He just goes along with it, "Show me your rope cutting..." The last rope Takahiro cut caused the net to open up, as Tomomi comically skyrockets to the ground. "Prowesssss!!!!"
Thankfully, he lands on a bunch of squishy Numemon. Well, this is one of the rare times Kami not being able to destroy things works. He starts to laugh really loudly, "Thank you, Taka-kun!"

“Ohhh.” He starts climbing down from the tree, but it'll be a minute or two before he gets there! Damn these spindly arms and legs! “T-Tomi-Sama! I'm so sorry!” He calls out, trying to get down there and see if the boy is alright.
Petermon stifles a laugh behind his hand...in theory. If his jaw doesn't move, and there probably isn't a mouth behind those bandages...Too confusing. He stifles a laugh behind his hand. Silly humans. So graceless. Although it was his own tamer's silliness that caused the accident. At least no-one was hurt.
Might not've happened at all if they hadn't been flirting.

"I'm fine Taka-kun! These blobs were here to break my fall. Take you're time getting down, don't get hurt!" Tomomi waved gracefully, he actually enjoyed falling from the trees. Who knew Tomomi was an adrenaline junkie! That excitement turned into a brief amount of fear, as the Numemon under him started to wriggle.
"Hey! Whats do youse thinks you're doing on usss?" The Numemon hissed. They looked around to see many of their allies deleted. They started to run away. This, of course, included Tomomi, who was still on top of them.
"Possibly not fine!" Tomomi yelped as he tried to jump off the moving blobs. It was no use, one limb would get stuck in jelly. And by the time he got one out, another limb got stuck in between two others. He was losing sight of his comrades quickly.
"Candlemon!! Takahiro!!!"
Down the path they went. The only upside is they were going towards a temple, and the blips on Takahiro's digivice got faster and faster. Well there's a silver lining.
"Hyper Stink Shot!"
A wave of filth overcame Tomomi's senses, as he started to drift off into the land of unconsciousness.
Well...so much for silver linings, Tomomi thought as he gave in, and passed out.

“What's...what...I...” He watches as the Numemon speed off. Who knew they were so fast? “Petermon!” he calls out. He's sure Candlemon will follow, of course, but they can't afford to hang around either way.
“Are you sure? You nearly threw up, last time,” Petermon appears next to him, posing as though leaning against something in mid-air. The look he gets from Takahiro is enough. He shrugs, and gestures. The human becomes surrounded by a faint golden aura, slowly moving away from the tree into open air.
Unfortunately, they don't have time for Taka to master flying, so Petermon takes his hand, and the pair fly after Tomomi, determined to stop those blobs from getting away with the boy! Taka checks around for Candlemon. It's a shame that Petermon's 'Fairy Dust' power only works on him, but...Candlemon can hover. It's fine.

Candlemon hovers behind the pair. He could float, but he sure as heck couldn't make Tomomi fly! His jealousy of Petermon continues to grow. He keeps up, however. Petermon and Takahiro are in sight, but the Numemon carrying Tomomi have dissapeared into the temple ruins. _____________________________________________ Tomomi wakes up some time later. He tries to move...no good. "Wha..." He has been tied up, and is hanging. It's a pretty steep drop below him. Even if there is Numemon down there, this is a fall I wouldn't want to attempt.
"Ah, Tamer, you're awake." A figure says, walking out from the shadows. A beastly man steps forward, looking at Tomomi with a single eye. He seems battle ready, for sure. Slightly taller than an adult human, and with weapons for arms. His legs are...wait, four legs? "I am Centarumon. I believe this is what you're after?" Centarumon holds out a round object. It is red and yellow object with a spike in it. "The...Digiegg.." Tomomi barely coughs out. The Numemon did a number on his lungs. "Precisely. The Digiegg of Courage. Which, you clearly have none."Tomomi looks at Centarumon with a slight rage in his eyes, "What exactly do you mean?" He's not going to like this answer.

Takahiro and Petermon touch down at the edge of the ruins. They begin to walk forwards together, as Petermon draws his blade, entering a defensive posture. There's no telling where Tomi is, but they need to keep moving and find him. Rushing in wouldn't help them, though...
“Dammit. This is m-my fault,”
“Of course it is. Clearly you should've leapt down to the ground and destroyed those Numemon with your Terra Destroyer attack,” Petermon replies, deadpan, “No, wait. You can't do that. You're also not superfast, not are you superstrong. It isn't your fault,”
He looks over at Takahiro, who is...frankly just surprised Petermon has spoken so much at once. And not for the first time in the last two days. “Takahiro, we'll get him back. Relax,” The boy nods, slowly.
Petermon knows what he's doing. He's fought much bigger Digimon than a few Numemon. And Candlemon should be with them soon, too, now that they're on foot. They'll be fine! Yeah! Fine. ...Right?

Centarumon looked at Tomomi and mocked him, "You are afraid of everything in this world. How can one so afraid even posses the slightest bit of courage?" Centarumon raised his gun arm and pointed it at Tomomi, "I could delete you right now, but I wouldn't see the satisfaction of you failing to use the Digimental you put your friends in danger to receive."
Tomomi hung head down in shame. He's right....
____________________________________________________________________________________
Even though Takahiro and Petermon stopped, Candlemon flew right past them. "Tomi!!!!" He screamed helplessly as he went deep into the ruins.
____________________________________________________________________________________
Candlemon's voice echoed through the building.
"It seems our company has arrived." Centarumon taunted.
Tomomi wanted to call out for Candlemon, but knew that would lead them into this danger. He remained silent, and stared at Centarumon with an angry gaze. If only this was the Digiegg of Stubbornness, Tomomi scolded himself.
Centarumon wasn't amused in the slightest. He swung his gun arm into Tomomi's side, causing Tomomi to let out a yelp. He was helpless. It hurt way too much and was too sudden to hold it in. He feared it just cost his comrades their lives.

Takahiro watches as the other Digimon zips right past them. He sighs again, and looks at Petermon, “Go...after him. I'll catch up,” Petermon gives him a concerned look, but obeys. He can move a lot faster when he isn't using his Fairy Dust ability.
And so Petermon gives chase, “Candlemon, be silent.” He calls out. Idiot's going to get them both caught. He hears the yelp however, and redoubles his own speed. He does not, however, rush in to attack. Instead he simply comes to hover within the line of sight of Centarumon, “I see someone left the stable unlocked,”
Don't...do that. Leave the quips to literally anyone else. Still. Taunts are likely to make Centarumon stupid. Not that that's necessarily a good thing...
Takahiro, meanwhile, is left to jog along after them. Nope, no good. At least Tomi isn't here to see his moment of weakness. He stops, and takes a puff from an inhaler, before pressing on. Yeah, he'd rather not share that, if at all possible. People always think he's frail as a result.

Centarumon trots around the base he stands upon, "Your taunts are not very good, shadow-dweller." He is not affected by the words whatsoever.
Candlemon sees the Centarumon standing there, and flat out charges at him. The sight of Tomomi crying puts Candlemon in a blind rage. There is a light growling coming from him, as he screams out, "KARMIC FLAME!" This time, a blue fireball comes out of the top mouth, and speeds at Centarumon. It detonates into a bright flame once it hits him. This takes the beast by surprise, as he didn't expect such a big attack from a tiny creature. Candlemon doesn't stop his charge as he goes to tackle the Centarumon, either oblivious to the size difference or overcome with rage that he doesn't care.
"Foolish creature.." Centarumon says as he swings his left hand at Candlemon. This backhand slap is surprisingly strong, and launches Candlemon into a pillar. He hits the floor in front of the pillar after bouncing off of it, and seems to be knocked out. Centarumon's gun arm glows a pale yellow, as he places it upon Tomomi's chest. "Get out of the shadows or he dies now."
"PETERMON TAKE TAKAHIRO AND RUN!" Tomomi coughs up. There is a squeaking in his voice he usually never allows out. Centaurmon swipes at Tomomi's face, getting a nice gash on the side of his cheek. He lets out another wimper. "Boy, you are truly trying my patience." The crazed beast whispers to him.
"Well, Tamer. What will it be? Run and let him die...or consign to your own fate?"
