The two entered,Network Plains, it was called. The man walking beside a Baalmon, who still have not felt the need to revert back into a Renamon just yet. They didn't know where to go, really, not right now at least. They had been wandering around aimlessly, walking all the way from the Valley of Dragons to Network Plains in hopes to find someone else, or anything else, that would aid them in their quest to find the person behind an incident not too long ago. But right now, they were lost and without a goal. The man's digivice did not flicker with a clue, not a single thing all this time, and frankly, they were both getting tired out from the long events of the day. All the way from the battle in Terminus City as well as to the equally painful (or perhaps even more painful) battle in the Valley of Dragons. Perhaps it was not their acquaintances' faults for doing so, yes, but what had happened, has happened. The man gave a sigh, glancing upwards to his partner. WIth no definite words coming to his mind, he returned his gave towards the road ahead to see a lone tree standing in the middle of the plains. Setting his course straight for the shades of the tree, he walked towards it with his partner following right behind him. So, he took a step but then felt tired. He sighed, once again, once he arrived at the roots of the strong and sturdy tree. Turning around and slumping downwards, he sat on the grass and leaned on the tree bark, with the Baalmon following suit on the side of the tree. He shielded his eyes from the sun with his hands for a second, before then allowing his eyes to close. He said, "I'll rest a little while,"

Megan breathed in deep the clean air of the Network Plains. It has been awhile since her and Kami were able to go to the digital world, and it was always nice to spend some time away from Shibuya. Unfortunately, between school and work, it always seemed to be a struggle for them to be able to make the time for them to go to the digital world. Even now, they weren't planning on staying long. Just long enough for them to have a nice picnic lunch outside. Nothing to complex, just a couple of sandwiches, a bag of chips, and a few sodas. Megan eyes looked over to her digital companion who was walking beside her. It was almost hard for her to believe that it's been over a year since they have met each other. She could still remember the day she had received that S.O.S call that had led her to Kami's egg. It's funny to think how much one's life could change in only one instance. Currently though, there was something bothering her deeply. Recently she had been informed that the place she was currently working at would be closing down soon, and this meant that she'll be out of the job. While this did allow her more time to go on trips like this, there was still the fact that she needed an income to pay her bills. However, that isn't the problem seeing how she already has a good idea of where she could get a new job and still spend time with Kami. The problem is the fact that she hadn't gotten a chance to discuss this with Kami yet. Don't get her wrong, she had tried. Yet Kami seemed to be doing all he could to distance himself from her. It all seemed to happen a few days back when they had spent the day at the mall, the day she originally planned to bring the subject up. Ever since that day, he seemed to have become alot less chatty like he usually was. Even now, he had hardly even looked at Megan. It was obvious to her that something has been on his mind, but exactly what it was she couldn't tell. It was actually part of the reason why she had thought about going on this picnic in the first place. She had hoped that she would be able to get him to tell her what was bothering him to see if she could help him out, while also telling him the news about her job and see what his thoghts were about her new job idea. Megan noticed Kami suddenly stopping as he saw something in the distance. She followed his gaze and saw that he had spotted both a man and a Baalmon sitting against the tree. Kami then turned to look at Megan as he began to sign. "Maybe we should look at going the other way. They both looked like they are resting and I don't think we should bother them." He signed to her, informing her of what he thought they should do. Megan thought for a moment about what Kami had just told her before looking back up towards the resting duo. "Maybe we should first make sure that they are both alright, and at very least, offer them something to drink before going our own way. Afterall, it can't hurt to just say hello right?"With that she went into her backpack and pulled out a bottle of water. She then proceeded to approach the man sitting against the tree with Kami following close behind, keeping his eyes on the Baalmon. "Sorry to bother you. Judging from how weary you both look, I thought you could use this." Megan said to the man, offering the bottle of water to him. ((Sorry about the large amount of exposition that was probably unnecessary at the beginning of this post. Also to avoid any unnecessary confusion, anything that Megan and Kami say that's also italicize is meant to be them using sign language. P.S. Nice song and great job on representing it in your first post there ))

[OOC: Sorry for the late reply, nah the exposition was great, and thanks! I was experimenting on ways to enter, so I thought that'd be a good fit :b Also just a quick thing, you might want to add in the link to your profile for any curious minds.]
It was really just the most perfect and peaceful afternoon that the two companions could have asked for. Under the shade of a tree, with the wind blowing from here and there, it was such a huge contrast from the earlier events of the day. A very welcome contrast, however. Ryo felt that he could just sleep on the tree's bark for the whole day, maybe even until night had passed. He didn't really care if it would be cold and much windier at night, at least it would be peaceful.
The sensitive ears of the Baalmon had perked up, however, when she realized that there were two beings who began to approach them. With the sight of peace close to the end and her anxiety taking partly over, as the earlier events began to replay in her head, she was so much more than ready to defeat whoever would be the one to trespass into their quiet moment of peace and respite. Although she did not show her wariness as her eyes are still closed, her hand began to slowly travel downwards to her sword, in case she needed to act and act fast in that instant.
It was alike that of a movie, a thriller to be exact. The Baalmon's heart began to thump as one of the beings began to slowly approach her partner, although she made sure to calm her heart down slightly, as she knew that level-headedness and a calm heart would win out any time in the day. Her palm gripped on the sword's hilt as the movements stopped, beginning to slow her breathing as much as possible, and...
"Sorry to bother you. Judging from how weary you both look, I thought you could use this."
... She released her grip. Turns out it was just a very kind girl, from the sounds of it. She slightly relaxed, although not fully because she knew the art of deception, while Ryo quietly flitted his eyes open to see the girl in front of her, and he smiled, "Oh, thanks," he said, sizing her up, and then retrieving a water bottle from his bag, "Although I do appreciate your gesture of kindness, I do have my own water here, and since it is the Digital World, I don't want you to waste any of your precious water on me,"
At this, the Baalmon began to open her eyes as well and then glanced over at the girl's digimon partner, to which she nodded at in acknowledgement. Ryo didn't really much notice, instead he continued to greet the young woman and patted a spot next to him for her to sit down, "I'm Ryo," he said, offering a handshake.

((Oh... Yeah. Sorry about that. I'm still in the process of getting everything situated into the new site. The link should work now.))
"Oh uhh... Well that's good then." Megan sheepishly responded as Ryo showed her that he had his own water, lowering the hand that had offered the bottle as she did so. She honestly felt a bit awkward about the situation. She should have probably guessed that he had his own water, and now had ruined what was probably a well-deserved rest from hours of traveling.
Kami, meanwhile, kept his eyes on the Baalmon, returning her nod with one of his own. While she might not know it, Kami had taken notice of the fact that the Baalmon gripping her blade as they approached. He couldn't blame her for being cautious, however, as he was sure he would do the same thing if their situation was reversed. At very least, whatever Megan had just said seemed to have eased the Baalmon from releasing her grip from her blade. For now.
"Nice to meet you Ryo, I'm Megan." She said as she took a seat next to Ryo, before shaking his hand. "And my friend here is Kami." She added as she motioned over towards Kami, who was still keeping an eye on Light.
Megan waved at him to get his attention before signing, "Kami, I want you to meet Ryo."[/color] Kami looked over at the man and giving him a shy wave before returning his attention back towards the Baalmon.
Megan sighed. "I'm sorry about that. He has the tendency of becoming very protective of me when there is another digimon around that he has never met before." She explained to the other two, hoping that they would understand. The last thing she wanted was a fight to breakout between Kami and the Baalmon, especially if it's because of some stupid misunderstanding.

[OOC: It's alright, just a friendly reminder xD]
"Nice to meet you, Megan and Kami," Ryo answered, giving a slight nod himself towards the Kamemon, but then sat up straight when he realized that he had forgotten to introduce his own partner to the girl, "Right, sorry, I almost forgot. This is Light, she's not much of a talker but she definitely won't hurt you," he said quite reassuringly.
Especially by the ironic words that her tamer had just said, since she was willing to hurt the girl if she had proven to become an enemy, Light was very aware of the Kamemon's wary eyes on her. It wasn't a huge surprise, though, considering the fact that she had gripped on the hilt of her blade before they had arrived. But then, she had to wonder if the Kamemon had really caught her in the act, or if he was just as paranoid as the Baalmon had been. Either way, she felt as if they would slightly understand each other, even if there was the matter of a communication problem...
Is he deaf, were the words that instantly pushed through Ryo's thoughts when he saw how Kami's tamer was talking to him, and he had almost said this out loud before consciously catching himself not to, and he figured that it was probably for the best that he had managed to do so, he didn't exactly want to start offending people left and right. The Kamemon gave the young man a shy wave, but it was a wave at least, and Ryo could understand if the pair intimidated him in any way. So in response, Ryo smiled and waved back cheerfully.
"Oh no it's completely fine, you don't have to apologize," Ryo replied when the girl explained the tendencies of the Kamemon, "Light is pretty protective of me too, or at least I would... Imagine so, aren't you, Light?"
There was a short silence between the two which only ended when the Baalmon decided to turn and look at Ryo, and without another word, she turned her head back again to face the Kamemon, and with minimum gesture, the Baalmon patted the spot beside her to indicate that the Kamemon can sit next to her. Ryo, on the other hand, sighed and said, "Sorry about that,"
Not about to risk the conversation to waste, he continued, "So what's a girl doing here in the Digital World at noon?"

When Ryo had introduced Megan to Light and informed her that Light wouldn't harm them, Megan went ahead and inform Kami of the same thing. The turtle digimon looked over at the Baalmon, before looking back at Megan. He still wasn't sure if he could trust these two, but guess that if they were going to try to do something, they would have done it by now. He returned his gaze over to Baalmon as she now patted the ground next to her, subtly hinting that he could sit there. A few seconds went by as he debated on what he should do, before begrudgingly sitting next to Baalmon.
Megan listened as Ryo told her that she didn't need to apologize for Kami, and that he completely understand. He then went on to say that Light is pretty protective of him too, but seemed a bit unsure about the matter. Things only gotten more awkward as the Baalmon refused to give an answer as Kami took a seat right next to her. In an attempt to salvage the conversation, Ryo apologize before asking what exactly Megan was doing in the Digital World.
"Oh... Well, nothing much really. Kami and I had just decided to take advantage of a rare gap in my otherwise busy schedule to take a brake from the city and have a picnic out here in the fresh air." She told him as she took off her infinistore backpack and placed it down next to her, "If you like, you both could join us. I mean, it's mainly only sandwiches and chips, but there should be enough between the four of us." She offered Ryo, not wanting to come off as rude.

The Baalmon didn't expect the Kamemon to actually sit beside her, as she thought that the turtle digimon would be very wary of her next actions, and so she was slightly surprised when he took up her offer. She gave a slight smile, which would be hidden by the scarf that she wore that came automatically with her evolution, and then she would continue to stare at the turtle for a few moments, utterly confused as to what she can do as she is unable to communicate with him.
After those few moments had passed, however, she began to receive inspiration. Since obviously voice cannot work, and she does not know any form of sign language, she thought that she could instead write down the words that she wanted to say in the grass. At first she thought that she could use her amulets to form words in the grass instead, as they are relatively harmless unless she were to accidentally activate them, but that would make for a very clunky form of communication. So instead, she used her powers of illusion to slightly form words in mid-air, asking true or false questions.
"Have you been here for long?" was the first question to appear, and the Baalmon would then look over to the Kamemon for a nod or a shake of the head.
On the other hand, Ryo had been entertaining Megan with a conversation, and at her statements, he snorted, "A picnic out in the Digital World?" he asked, "Isn't this a slightly dangerous place for a picnic with all the malicious monsters running rampant in the world?"
She's offering a stranger to come along for the picnic? Ryo found that slightly off, so he exchanged a slightly wary look with her partner. Baalmon, who had been listening in the conversation on the side, gave a shrug and then a small nod, revealing her approval. Ryo then shrugged and replied, "Sure, if that's alright with you, we don't want to intrude on your peaceful picnic since that is what you came out here for,"

Kami felt a little uneasy as he sat next to the Baalmon. He had little trust of the dark, imposing digimon and her tamer. As it is, however, he didn't want to cause Megan anymore discomfort then he already has, and didn't want to give the currently friendly Baalmon a reason to attack. So he sat there quietly, making sure to keep both the Baalmon and her tamer in his peripheral vision.
Something then caught the Kamemon's eyes as he saw words begin to form in mid-air. It seemed that Light had noticed his disability as he guessed that this was the Baalmon's attempt at trying to communicate with him. He looked at the question the Baalmon asked for a few seconds, wondering how exactly how he should answer. He doubted that Light knew sign language which didn't really leave him much of a way to elaborate, but then, it was probably for the best. So he just shook his head no.
Meanwhile, Ryo seemed a bit surprised when Megan had stated that she came to the digital world for the picnic, mentioning that it seemed to be a dangerous place with malicious monsters running around. It was a legitimate point, but Megan had her reasons. "Well, it's why I chose to have a picnic here in the Network Plains in the first place. From my experience, most of the more malevolent digimon tend to stay away from the Network Plains. And if any digimon do come this way, the land is flat enough for Kami to see them quite a distance away. Besides, the Digital World is the only place Kami doesn't really have to worry about keeping his holosuit on." She explained to Ryo, hoping the teen would understand her reasoning.
Then when she had received Ryo's acceptance to join her in their picnic, Megan opened her Infinistore backpack. "No, it's perfectly alright. It's rare for us to meet up with another Tamer, especially under such friendly circumstances. So it'll be nice to be able chat with someone about digimon for a change, and what better way then between a couple of sandwiches and a bag of chips." She said as she began pulling out the sandwiches from the bag,
"Now what type of sandwich do you prefer to have. Ham or Turkey?" She asked the pair.
((Sorry for the delay. My muse has been pretty low lately -_- ))

Since the Baalmon noticed that the Kamemon looked considerably uneasy when he sat next to her, she then tried to make it as comfortable as she could... Which isn't much at all. All she did was to just shift her shoulder upwards, attempting to loosen the weight of her weapons so that her cloth would cover the sight of her weapons and made a mental note of herself to not reveal her gun-arm. Having it and then revealing it would probably be the worst move that she could do by now.
She stared expectantly at the Kamemon as Light awaited his answer, although he was slightly shocked when the Kamemon revealed that he had not been long at the Digital World at all, especially when she could feel the potential of power inside the Kamemon. Listening to his tamer's words of wisdom about the areas of the Digital World made her think twice, though, and she recognized that the Kamemon must have been slightly uncomfortable about revealing such a thing right off the bat. To test the waters, though, the Baalmon changed the formation of the words.
"Has it been long since you met your Tamer?" she then glanced at the Kamemon wordlessly, then created a new sentence underneath, "I apologize for not being able to communicate with you through a language you are comfortable with,"
Ryo, on the other hand, was pretty much taken aback by how much knowledge that the girl seemed to possess about this world, so carefully knowledgable about the areas free from dangerous digimon and the like. Though he had to agree, the Network Plains had a much livelier atmosphere than the Dark Area... He shook his head free of the memory and distracted himself by instead continuing to listen to the girl's answers. This was definitely not the time to yet again remember about 'that' incident, one grave glance from the Baalmon was enough for him to stop his thought's tracks towards that.
"Ah... Yeah, that's great, yeah," Ryo answered, slightly distracted but attempted to continue on as per normal, "That is quite true, I think Light would be able to see from here as well, though I don't think I've seen her in her holosuit before..." his words trailed off after a fierce glance from the Baalmon, but he continued on with another topic, "You're quite intelligent!" he remarked quite bluntly.
Ryo was slightly confused when the girl mentioned that he was a Tamer, that was supposedly rare to find, and that he was friendly to her in the first place. Did that mean that other Tamers may not be so friendly? He had to keep his guard up, at all times then, plus there was the issue that this girl might not even be as friendly as she looks like, so he had to keep a hidden, wary look around in case, "Ah, well, you are also one of the rare Tamers that I have met, then," glancing over at the sandwiches presented, he said, "Ham, please,"

Kamemon watched as Baalmon did her best in order to conceal her weapons. While she may have intended to do this to make Kami less tense, it had the opposite effect. With the weapon out of his site, he had no idea what she could be doing with it. She has already presented the fact that she had magical powers of sometype, so it wasn't to far fetch in Kami's mind to think that she could teleport the sword and control it with telepathy or something like that. So he kept his eyes peeled for any subtle hint that she was doing something like that.
Baalmon's next question soon came as she also apologize for forcing him to communicate in a way that was uncomfortable for him. "It's okay" He signed in reply, hoping she would get the gist of what he just said. At least the question she asked this time wasn't as vague as her last one. He gave a few seconds thought before giving her a quick nod yes.
Megan listened as Ryo spoke, her grin growing slightly as he complimented her on her intelligence. It also seemed that he doesn't get much of a chance to meet other tamers as well, which she understood completely. After all, Tamers tend to try to be as anonymous as possible in the human world, and are rare to cross paths with in the digital world. There was one comment that did strike Megan as kindof odd though. How come he never saw Light in her Holosuit before? She wonder, debating on whether she should bring this up or not.
"So how long have you and Light been a team?" She decided to ask as she passed a ham sandwich to Ryo and a turkey sandwich to Kami, who immediately began to eat it. "Hey Light, do you want one too?" She quickly added, noting that Light didn't answer her question like Ryo did.

The Baalmon was slightly confused when the Kamemon began to communicate to her using sign language, though with the obvious lack of aggression from the turtle digimon, she figured that the Kamemon had accepted her apology and had not taken it into offense. She gave a nod to signal the fact that she had understood what the Kamemon was trying to relay, and took the Kamemon's next reply similarly. Honestly the Baalmon wasn't very shocked that they had been partners for long, especially since they looked like they had a strong bond between the two of them.
Though for the Baalmon and her own Tamer, however...
"How long I've been a team with Light? Uh..." the man quickly took a glance towards the Baalmon, to which the Baalmon reciprocated, and shrugged in response. He sighed and then turned towards the girl once more with an awkward laugh, scratching the back of his head while doing so, "Well uh... honestly, it hasn't exactly been long at all, I think it's only been a day or two. Though I have known her a bit longer, way before she became my partner..."
A glare was immediately elicited from the Baalmon, which pierced through Ryo's heart and he didn't even have to actually turn to look at her in the eyes to figure out what message the Baalmon was sending. He knew the creeping sadness in the Baalmon's mind, which added to his own, so he quickly shut up about the subject. The distinct sense of despair would be visible in his eyes for a second, to which he quickly covered up with the cheerful facade he had been wearing for the past few days in response to 'that' tragedy.
"I will have the same, thank you," Light responded in a monotonous tone to Megan's question, breaking the awkward air that would quietly began to creep up into the group. When and if Megan would offer the ham sandwich to the Baalmon, she would take it up with grateful hands and then she would lower the cloth around her mouth, eating the sandwich as delicately as possible. She would definitely need the strength from food now. Though even while she is eating and while her hands would be preoccupied, the words in the air would begin to form again, "Has the Digital World been treating you well, thus far?"
It was only when Ryo had the ham sandwich in his hands that he realized just how hungry he was, and he then bit down into the sandwich, reveling in its taste, "This is truly a great sandwich, Megan! Although that may be just my hunger speaking..." he said in between mouthfuls, he then chomped up another part of the sandwich, chewed and swallowed, "It's still pretty amazing anyways!"

Megan listened as Ryo informed her that him and Light have only recently became partners, but have known each other for some time. It was obvious that there was more to the story, but Ryo had cut himself off as Light glared at him. And, maybe Megan was imagining it, but she could have swore she noticed a hint of despair flash in his eyes for just a second. Why though? What was he about to say that would cause Light to look at him so that he would stop? A curious mind wanted to know.
Megan found her train of thought being derailed as Light requested to have the same type of sandwich Ryo had. "Oh... Here you go." She said as she took one of the ham sandwiches from her bag and handed it to the Baalmon, "I guess more turkey for me." She added as she pulled a turkey sandwich for herself.
Kami continued eating as he watched the Baalmon's next question begin to form. He thought back to his previous trips to the digital world. While there were several occurences that were less then pleasant, there has been several others that have proven to be fantastic points in his relatively short life. His experience has been a mix bag really. Because of this, he wavered his right hand as a way to say so-so. He then followed this up by pointing at her and tilting his head curiously as an attempt to try to ask her the same question.
As she ate her sandwich, Megan debated on whether or not she should press Ryo into telling her what he was about to say before Light cut him off. While she was slightly curious about what he was going to say to cause light to give him that reaction, she also understood there were something that he wouldn't want to share with a stranger. With that in mind, she ultimately decided to let the matter rest for now. That was around when Ryo commented on her sandwiches.
"Ohh... Uhh... Thanks. Though you should really be thanking Kami seeing how he was the one that made most of these." She informed him, slightly blushing at the sudden praise. "So, seeing how you and Light have only recently met each other, I guess this is your first trip to the digital world?" She then asked, wanting to keep the conversation moving along.

[OOC: Sorry for the late post.]
Ryo gave himself a facepalm when he realized how the two of them had been so rude to Megan and Kami after they had intruded upon their supposedly peaceful picnic, especially since everyone had been going for ham and did not even leave her, the one who had created the ham sandwiches in the first place, one ham sandwich! That was absurdly rude of Ryo and Light, at least in his opinion, that they were to hog all the ham sandwiches for themselves!
"Oh no, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make you eat all the turkey sandwiches while leaving no ham ones for yourself," Ryo apologized, and then neatly divided his sandwich (the one where he hadn't taken a bite out of yet) into half, "I know it isn't much, but if you'd like, you can take my half so it would be fairer to you, especially since you made all these with the intentions of eating yourself,"
The answer that the Baalmon would have to give the Kamemon would be quite depressing, in fact, especially since she had not gone through anything particularly... Uplifting. Losing her partner was certainly the most depressing occurrence, and of course it would have been! Everything else before and after that had been blocked in her mind to keep herself in the state of constant pessimism; not that there was anything relatively positive that had happened in her life so far anyways, especially considering the fact that everything positive related to her previous Tamer and everything related to that had turned negative.
In short, she shook her head as her answer. Honestly speaking, this peaceful picnic was by far her best experience in the Digital World, and she was grateful for that. At least now she had a relatively peaceful experience, even if it would be drowned out by the negative ones that had occurred to her so far.
"Well... Honestly it kind of felt as if we had known each other for such a long time, but I guess that is because we have been through... Something, yeah," he answered, noticeably uncomfortable about the topic but moved on to answer her question, "But yes, it is my first trip to the Digital World, and it is, well, quite full of surprises," he used quite a safe word to be less negative than he already was, but he expected that Megan would understand the underlying message beneath his diction.
"What about you?" he asked, "Though seeing that you've already packed a picnic, I'm guessing that this isn't your first time to the Digital World?"

((I'm so sorry for how long it has taken me to respond to this.))
Megan looked at Ryo strangely when he suddenly facepalmed himself. Ryo then went on to apologize for them hogging the ham sandwiches as he then ripped his sandwich and offered her half of it. Megan just stared at him awkwardly for just a second or two until it clicked that he had took her attempt at light humor a little to seriously.
"Th-there's no need for that. I actually greatly prefer turkey and I'm pretty sure we still have a ham sandwich or two still left in my bag." She informed him awkwardly, hoping that he would understand that her earlier comment was far from a complaint.
Kami just looked at the Baalmon as he awaited for an answer to what he had taken to be a simple question. Yet, when Light finally gave him an answer, instead of using the word trick like he had expected, she just shook her head. Kami didn't quite understand what exactly this answer meant, but inferred that it was probably bad. Not knowing how to respond to that, he looked over at Megan as he took another bite from his sandwich, seeing that his Tamer was still conversing with Ryo.
Megan was a bit surprised to hear that this was Ryo's first trip to the digital world, especially seeing how he has a partner as powerful as Baalmon. She also was starting to notice that Ryo's experience in the digital world has not exactly been a good one from how uncomfortable he seemed when he answered her question. She didn't knew what exactly happened to make him feel this way, yet guessed that it had something to do with what Light had cut him off on earlier.
"Yeah, me and Kami try to come out here at least once a month. But between school and work, that has proven to be pretty difficult to accomplish. That's one of the reasons why we decided to have a picnic out here in the first place as it gave us an excuse to come all the way out here." She told Ryo before taking a bite into her sandwich. Then once she had swallowed her mouthful, she decided to ask, "So what brings you two to the digital world anyways?" She didn't know if this question would cause similar reactions as her previous ones, but hoped that it would be earlier then whatever traumatic experience the two didn't want to talk about. Or, at very least, give her an answer that would satiate her curiosity instead of just causing it to grow bigger.
