Name: Saya Hirofumi
Alias: None
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Height:
Weight:
Alignment: Good
Birth Date: May 17th
Birth Place: Akihabara, Tokyo
Skills/Talents: Saya is a trained actress, able to assume a role and convincingly act it out. As a result she's good at - for lack of a more positive term - lying through her teeth and feigning an emotional response. She's clever, able to think up a plan or story on the fly, and is generally at her best when she's improvising. Her training as an actress also means that she's good at gauging the emotions and behaviour of others, allowing her a level of empathy that others might not have. This empathy makes her a very good counsellor in a pinch. Like her husband, Saya is extremely well-read and versed in several forms of media and pop culture, and she shares his creative energy. Finally, Saya has gone out of her way to thoroughly learn the ins and outs of using a whip, the result of a childhood goal driven by far, far too much Indiana Jones and Castlevania. A childhood of playing old-school Dungeons and Dragons with her father has also left her with a deep understanding and appreciation for number crunching on the fly and gaming the rules of things in her favour, and both her father and her husband have kept her in excellent physical condition due to their differing but thorough exercise regimens.
Personality: When people see Saya and her husband together, they frequently peg her as both the brains and the sense in the relationship. However, while Saya is intelligent, she's far from humourless and is completely open to her own moments of immaturity and childlike enthusiasm. In fact, while Toru is often diligent and passionate in all things, Saya is easygoing and even a little lazy unless something truly grabs her interest. Sometimes, all she wants to do is just sit back, watch the clouds go by and spend the day taking it easy. This occasionally puts her at odds with her more energetic husband, but she knows how to put her foot down and stand her ground without getting combative or hurtful.
Despite her playful moments and her generally laid back and casual nature, when Saya needs to be the voice of reason or take control of a situation, she does so swiftly and with absolute authority. Her father taught her how to command the attention and respect of her peers and she's not afraid to get down to business and put on a cool, professional air when the need calls for it. Despite being a fun-loving goof at heart, she is a consummate professional when she's doing a job or conducting any kind of business or agreement. Being a strong, mature and cool woman is very much a role for Saya, and she plays it with enthusiasm. There are times where she will make a point to try and look as cool and mature as possible, often with her husband's cheerful encouragement and approval. Don't try to imply that her skills with a whip are being used for anything other than "being able to brag about knowing how to use a whip", though. She can get very defensive and flustered when people make inappropriate jokes or implications around her.
Underneath it all, Saya is a hero waiting to happen. She has a very firm belief in right and wrong, and she's not afraid to step up for what she believes in and fight anyone who disagrees with her. She can't stand those that would seek to bully or belittle others, and she will be the first one to step in and defend anyone who would dare do so in her presence. Saya has a protective and motherly streak a mile wide, and she has no problem projecting herself as a nurturing guardian figure for those who need her.
But most importantly of all, she loves her husband Toru more than anything else in the world.
Appearance: Saya is a handsome young woman who exudes mature grace and confidence. She's tall and slender, and her posture drives this home. As noted above, Saya is in excellent shape thanks to a lifetime of living with very fit men; she has some slight muscle that can faintly be seen in her limbs and abdomen, although barring a day at the beach you won't be seeing any of that without going through Toru first. Saya has brown eyes and hair, and she prefers her relatively short and simple. Saya is always smiling, even if it's not by much. The exception, of course, is if she's genuinely upset or is playing a role where smiling is not an option.
Saya prefers to dress casually most of the time. Unlike her husband, she hates wearing skirts and dresses, and strongly prefers to literally wear the pants in their relationship. She's most often seen in a casual shirt and jeans or dress pants, and she can often be seen committing the cardinal sin of wearing the same thing more than one day in a row. When she's modelling outfits or playing a role, she prefers to play female characters who dress in a wholesome manner and wear tomboyish or masculine outfits. She has a particularly soft spot for military attire, and she has more than a few fictional uniforms in her closet that she breaks out every now and then for the fun of it.
Personal History: Being born and raised in the Electric Town of Akihabara, it was really only a matter of time before Saya was enamoured with otaku culture and the media it revolved around. Her parents were encouraging in their own way. Her educator mother used the material as extra learning tools, bringing up her reading comprehension by encouraging her to read things on her own. Her police officer father had a love for Dungeons and Dragons and the Japanese franchise it had unwittingly spawned: The Record of Lodoss War. Saya's father raised and nurtured her with a sense of honour, principle and justice, and it's probably these lessons that are to thank for Saya eventually meeting the love of her life.
When Saya was seven, she came upon a group of her classmates bullying and tormenting a small, crying boy in a dress. Naturally, she couldn't let this stand. She proceeded to charge into the mob of unruly children with arms swinging. She came out of the affair with a black eye, a busted nose and a new best friend. While her parents were upset with her for starting a fight at school, they were also proud of her for standing up to protect somebody who couldn't protect themselves. Saya was invited to have dinner with the boy's family, and from then on she and Toru were fast friends.
As they grew up, Saya and Toru became inseparable. Toru naturally felt a lot safer around Saya, and she felt something of an obligation to make sure the boy wasn't hurt. Her parents found Toru odd; they chalked up his love of dresses and skirts to being a phase at first. Saya didn't quite get the boy at first either, but she loved how enthusiastic and passionate he was about everything he did. Saya eventually started encouraging Toru's cross dressing, citing that he looked prettier than her and that she liked seeing him happy. She can't remember the last time she's seen him in boy's clothing since.
Saya can't actually remember the exact date and moment that Toru confessed to her. She remembers that they had been spending the night at her house, and that they had just finished marathoning Gundam. Which Gundam, she can never recall. He had blurted out his love for her in a quiet moment, and immediately he had turned redder than a tomato and covered his mouth. She can remember her surprise and joy, she can remember kissing him and telling him that she felt the same way, and she can remember the shit-eating grin on her father's face as he took 500 yen from her mother when she told them that they were dating now. Saya will readily admit that she remembers all of those things only because Toru's proposal had happened the exact same way.
Saya and Toru never got a proper honeymoon, much to the disapproval of their parents. Despite their insistence that the pair ought to go out into the world and enjoy themselves as newlyweds for a while, Saya and Toru knew that they didn't have the money for that yet. Saya had worked hard to become an actress, but as things were she was only getting odd jobs here and there in advertising as a cosplay model for assorted businesses. Toru was working equally hard selling outfits and costumes independently online, but as things were they just don't have the budget for any kind of grand adventure to a whole new world.
Someday, maybe.
Backpack Contents: Saya carries a large brown shoulder bag with her nearly everywhere she goes. It typically has:
- A middle of the road laptop that she uses for bookkeeping, mail, business management and some light gaming.
- A change of clothes or parts of the outfit for her latest role or job.
- A homemade lunch made by her husband.
Digivice: Saya's digivice is predominantly a dark, navy blue, with a dark purple serving as its secondary colour. By contrast, the buttons and frame of the digivice's screen are silver.
SPIRIT EVOLUTION LINE
Spirit Element: Extraterrestial
Appearance:
S-Hybrid Spirit: Vemmon
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: Nightmare Soldiers
Type: Alien
Passives:
Consume and Adapt: Vemmon's attacks have parasitic properties. Each successful attack Vemmon lands on an opponent leeches a minimal amount of strength from them, conferring it to Vemmon. On its own, a single 'stack' of Consume and Adapt isn't a noticeable boost in power or durability, but if left unchecked Vemmon can snowball and overtake its opponent with its gradual escalation in strength. Vemmon reverts back to its original strength after being defeated or vanquishing its opponent.
It Can Think: Vemmon possesses a keen and cunning mind, and the longer a battle carries on, the better it understands how to bring down its prey. After five turns of battle, Vemmon gains a small boost in its accuracy and evasiveness. This boost grows every three turns afterwards.
Attacks:
Leech Claws: Vemmon lunges for its opponent, raking and slashing at it with its claws and siphoning a small amount of health from its target. 2 Turn Cooldown.
PSI Blast: Vemmon fires a pulse of kinetic energy at the opponent with its mind. Due to the intangible nature of the attack, it can be difficult to detect or defend against. 2 Turn Cooldown.
X-Ray: Contrary to the name of the attack, does not provide a image of the target's internal skeletal structure. Vemmon fires a small, weak laser at the opponent. Has no overt benefits like Leech Claws or PSI Blast, but it is reliable.

KING OF FIGHTERS • whip • Saya Hirofumi
Name: Toru Hirofumi
Alias:
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Height:
Weight:
Alignment: Good
Birth Date: July 21st
Birth Place: Pearl Harbour, Hawaii
Skills/Talents: Toru is a remarkably intelligent young man thanks to his varied interests and 'do it 110% or don't do it at all' mentality. He has a working knowledge of several subjects like human physiology, nutrition and literature, but his one true calling is costume design and tailoring. Toru has an eye for design and fashion, and is an excellent and dedicated craftsman, even when not working with clothing. Toru loves working with his hands and making new, beautiful things to share with those around him. In addition, he's very well-read and has a near encyclopaedic level of knowledge when it comes to assorted aspects of popular culture. Despite an utter lack of muscle mass, Toru has exceptional cardiovascular health and strength, and he is a very fast and durable runner. He is also a decent dancer, although a bit of a bashful one and not exceptional at it.
Personality: Toru is energetic and passionate. He applies himself to everything he does and will make a point to put all of his effort into his work. He's a very creative and artistic mind, prone to looking at things from a unique point of view and seeing a beauty and value in most things. Optimistic and cheerful, Toru is able to see the best in most people and scenarios. He knows how to bring out the bright side of a dreary situation, and he does his best to be encouraging and positive both for others and for his own sake.
Toru has and will always be described as "girly" by those around him. He's okay with this. He enjoys pretty, cute and feminine things, he knows that others don't think he should, and he doesn't care. As far as he's concerned, he likes pretty things, he likes being pretty himself, and he's not hurting anyone by indulging in either. He's a little hung up on his own appearance, and goes through great pains to ensure that he looks his best. That's not to say he's vain; he would never dream of putting down someone else in order to make himself feel good, and he feels no joy in making light of the accomplishments of others in order to draw more attention to his. Toru wants everyone close to him to feel as confident and proud of themselves as he is.
Despite his optimistic and friendly nature, Toru runs into the problem of not being able to tone down his energy sometimes. While Saya enjoys the quiet moments and silent relaxation, Toru needs to be doing something with himself or else he'll start losing his composure. It doesn't have to be anything particularly high energy, it could be writing, doodling, reading or just snuggling up to Saya. However, even when he's tired after a long day or worn out from his daily regimen, he cannot just sit about and do literally nothing. He needs something to occupy his mind at all times, even if it's just menial labour. On the plus side, the Hirofumi residence is always clean.
Most importantly of all, he loves his wife Saya more than anything else in the world.
Appearance: Observe the precious cinnamon roll that is Toru Hirofumi. So smol. So pure. Toru is neither a big nor masculine man. He's short, waifish and has a feminine face and figure. This is actually the deliberate result of supplements, cardio and a hormone based diet, although it's possible that genetics plays some role. Toru's dieting and regimen also help the condition of his skin, leaving him with a flawless, creamy complexion and a smooth body without much body hair. The young man's blonde hair and bright blue eyes immediately mark him as a foreigner, but he makes no attempt to change that, instead styling his hair in ways just as feminine as the rest of him. His particular favourite hairstyle is to have his hair in long, thin twin tails decorated with ribbons.
It goes without saying that Toru dresses in women's clothing. He adores pretty, fancy and frilly clothes more than anything; he is far more likely to be seen in a dress than his wife would be. While he does the sensible thing and wears ordinary gym clothes during his daily exercise regimen and dresses in ordinary clothes when he and Saya have somewhere important to be, one can frequently see him walking around in lolita fashion or dolled up like some manner of princess or magical girl. Fancy and formal clothes that require a certain amount of prep time seem to be his absolute favourite.
Personal History: Toru Hirofumi does not look like somebody whose real name is Toru Hirofumi. Most people assume that he's a Japan-obsessed foreigner who's given himself a fake name, or they see his wedding band and assume he's taken on his wife's surname. While Toru wasn't born in Japan to a Japanese family, he was raised in Japan by a Japanese family, and in his opinion that's close enough. He doesn't remember his biological parents, his original given name, or really much of anything prior to moving to Japan with his family. He knows that his adoptive parents were respected members of the community and had been looking to adopt a child for some time before he came to be in their care.
Toru's family had always planned on moving back to Japan someday, having been in America for over ten years on what was supposed to be a month of 'business'. They decided that their adopted child would have an easier to adjusting sooner rather than later, after he had started understanding American culture. So, they transitioned the family back to Japan shortly after Toru's adoption. The boy grew up in Japan, learning the language and culture as any child would. Even as a small child, Toru was enamoured with the bright, colourful state of Akihabara and the extravagant ways some of the people there dressed. He was particularly fascinated by the lolitas and their elaborate, fancy dresses.
One day, little Toru had found one of his mother's old dresses from when she had been his age. Curious and excited, he snuck out wearing it, eager to show it off and be pretty like all the other girls he had seen. Of course, being a boy, others didn't think he should be wearing a dress. Some thought he was adorable, sure, but a group of older children instead saw him as an easy target. It didn't take much to break Toru's spirit, and he can still remember the horrible, crushing feeling of hurt an humiliation as those children drove him to tears. However, one girl stepped in to defend him.
Toru can't remember when he started to love Saya. From the moment she had stepped in to defend him, he knew she was his friend. He stayed close to her ever since, partly because he enjoyed her company, and partly because nobody would dare touch the "dress boy" with her around. She gave him confidence and courage, whether she knew it or not. He's fairly certain his self-confidence and optimism is owed to her, and he knew that without her he'd probably be repressing and hating himself right now. He had blurted out his feelings for her in a brief moment of spontaneous courage, and was utterly shocked when she actually accepted them. In hindsight, it didn't seem like that much of a surprise, she had accepted everything else about him too. When it came time for Toru to "accidentally" blurt out a proposal, he was actually fairly confident that she'd accept that too. She did.
Married life has been happy for Toru, although the couple's lack of funds left them buying a home instead of going on a honeymoon. The young man has held onto the hope that every costume or outfit he sells online will bring the two of them closer to a magical journey to somewhere new and exciting.
Backpack Contents: Backpacks are clunky, cumbersome, un-pretty things that do not fit at all with pretty clothes and fancy dresses, and thus Toru does not have one. He generally keeps his wallet and a thin smartphone stuffed in his bra. Yes, he wears those too. Don't question it.
Digivice: Toru's digivice is a bright bubblegum pink, and its secondary colour is a pale, pastel green. The buttons and the frame of the screen are a soft pink gold.
SPIRIT EVOLUTION LINE
Spirit Element: Fey
Appearance:
S-Hybrid Spirit: Palmon-X
Attribute: Data
Family/ies: Nature Spirits
Type: Plant
Passives:
Chuunibyou: Palmon-X is privy to the arcane secrets of magic and nature, thanks to its extensive studying over a two hour weekend night class it attended this one time. It uses this awesome arcane power sparingly, lest it alert its enemies in the vile Council of Shadows. (Palmon-X can spend a turn talking up the power of its attack instead of actually attacking. This makes the next attack it makes stronger, at the expense of looking like a complete and total dork.)
Purple Haze: The flowers on Palmon's head give off a disorienting, mind-altering odour that can distract, disorient, placate or induce hallucinations in those around it. Suitably powerful digimon can ignore it completely, and even weaker digimon are able to shake off its effects provided they bear the proper will or motivation. Additionally, these odours cannot actually affect an opponent so deeply that they are removed from the fight.
Attacks:
Poison Ivy: Bread and butter Palmon attack, Palmon-X uses its vines to grab or whip the enemy, inflicting a mild rash all the while.
RGB Herb: Palmon-X attacks with its claws. The claws are laced with its drugs and toxins, causing a struck opponent to be disoriented by hallucinations, dizziness and lethargy. Two Turn Cooldown.
Plant Shock: Palmon-X summons a flurry of razor sharp leaves, sending them flying at an opponent in order to inflict several cuts on them. Two Turn Cooldown.

(AND THEN THEY KISSED) DNA EVOLUTIONARY STAGES
Appearance:
DNA Champion (H-Hybrid Spirit): Argomon
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: Jungle Troopers
Type: Mutant
Passives:
PASSIVE - Unnatural Growth: Argomon's unique, alien physiology grants it regenerative properties, letting it recover a small fraction of its full strength every round of battle.
PASSIVE - Eldritch Horror: Argomon's unnatural and startling appearance intimidates weaker digimon, significantly weakening the strength of Rookie or lower level digimon.
Attacks:
Imprisonment: Argomon lashes out with its swarm of vines, attempting to bind and crush the opponent in an entangling mass of writhing tendrils. Upon success, the opponent is trapped and harmed over the course of the next two rounds of battle, with Argomon or its allies able to take additional action against it. Any attacks against the prison (be they from Argomon's allies or enemies) break the imprisonment and damage Argomon, although only slightly. 3 Turn Cooldown.
Elimination Line: Argomon fires a thin beam of energy from one of the eyes on its body, inflicting great harm upon the opponent and leaving behind a burning sensation of pain that blocks out any feeling in the wounded area. This pain doesn't inflict any additional harm, but can demoralize and intimidate the victim, while lending the illusion that the afflicted area has been erased completely. The feeling of pain dims down to manageable levels after two turns. 2 Turn Cooldown.
Elimination Rain: An inaccurate, area of effect variation of Elimination Line, Argomon fires beams from every single eye on its body into the air, where they arc and rain down upon a target area for one turn. All digimon in the area of effect run the risk of being struck by one of the beams, but the attack is sporadic and unreliable, and any digimon that is hit once has a significantly decreased likeliness to be hit again. 3 Turn Cooldown.
Eldritch Vines: Argomon uses a single vine to whip, pierce, pummel or trip up a target digimon. This is Argomon's weakest attack, but also its most reliable and versatile.
