The journey so far of two days has been uneventful. Thankfully.
From the trailmon they had unloaded in White Water city. They had explored Terminus City a bit, Rei asking every digimon as they searched their first stop if they had seen her brother. Turns out there had been a few eye witness accounts of this same man stirring up trouble. What kind, she didn’t know. But they all sounded disdained. However Rei couldn’t quite believe it. Was this really the same person or a look alike? Was Ikki really here? And why?
The girl couldn’t help but feel that she was at fault.
Rei glanced over to Yoshi, her new companion. He seemed to be happy. Though that didn’t weigh much as he was happy all the time. This the spirit user came to quickly realize. And she would be lying if she said Yoshi’s optimism didn’t cheer her up either. In spite of everything, it felt like things were going to turn out alright. Though that didn’t lower her guard. This world, as beautiful and thriving as it was, still had its sharp thorns. Very big and dangerous thorns.
Lest the roaring festival spoke of another tale.
Never has Rei seen such a wild event. There were millions- might be a bit of an exaggeration- of digimon roaming the streets, laughing and partying it up like there was no tomorrow. Market and food stalls alike lined the road, drawing in customers with promises of good products and mouth-watering aroma’s. The spirit user nudged closer to Yoshi, making sure that he was in her line of sight at all times. Either one of them could easily get separated in this crowd.
“How are we ever going to find him like this?” She sighed, looking down at her D-scanner hopefully for a hint. Which was meaningless to do, but that’s what hope was, right? Even though you knew in the bottom of your heart that it didn’t work out like that. Things were never that easy. Only thing she could profit from this was another Spirit Totem. Which was blank as a TV without cable anyhow.
A startled yelp caught her attention and she glanced about, pausing in the midst of the roaming civillians. In fact, she noticed that the crowd had thinned out, instead crowding together up ahead. Oh boy. That smelled like trouble. Something Rei really wanted to avoid right now.
"Hey, Yoshi, you hungry at all? Man, I'm starving. Lets go this way and find a good place to grab lunch, yeah?" Another pained shout stopped her in her tracks however. She visibly winced, struggling with her inner self.
Just walk away, Rei.

Kiyoshi had been helping as best as he good, using his natural charm and cuteness to get enough sympathy from people to make them listen to Rei. He was definitely doing his best to try and pull his weight here. He couldn't shake the same feeling he'd had the last few times he'd been in the Digital World though. When he'd first arrived, it'd been through a crack that'd led him to the Dark Area, and he'd felt like he was being watched.
And he felt like he was being watched right now, like there was someone over his shoulder. But no, nothing. Nothing besides the Kyupimon who were hanging off his shoulders, enthusiastically greeting every passerby. Sigh.
"Don't worry, Rei! We'll find him even if we have to search the whole Digital World!" D'aww. That'd probably be a lot more inspiring if you weren't wearing velcro shoes and one of your older brother's oversized hoodies (so big that the sleeves almost entirely cover your hands...). Sigh.
He looks up ahead as he hears the yelp. "Um. I'm hungry, yeah. But what's that? What's happening over there?" he tries to peer through the crowd, and fails spectacularly. Maybe it's a monster!
Oh, wait.

"Something I'm going to immediately regret getting involved with." Rei mumbled to the kid as her resolve crumbled. Usually she would barge in without a second thought. That was like, her entire personality. Being overly nosy. And apparently she hasn't learned her lesson from the previous misadventures. Well, at least Yoshi's rainbow-self has been a huge help so far. Maybe it would dissolve whatever was going on too.
"Stay close." Rei trudged ahead and pushed herself through the crowd, D-scanner ready at a moment's notice if things headed south. She glanced back briefly to make sure Yoshi was doing alright as she limped into the middle. Which caused her to slightly stumble and straighten to get her bearings. Which turned out not be such a great idea. Thankfully, she saw it coming, reflexes allowing her to duck the swinging punch that missed by a hair breadths. "What the hell?!" She shouted in surprise, scrambling to the side to get out of the way of the brawl. Okay. This definitely had been a bad idea.
Rei didn't have time to recover.
Craaacckkkkk.
Stars. There were white stars flashing before golden eyes. And then the pain came blaring like a siren.
The spirit user had been sent to the ground by what felt like a kick. Oh that hurt. But the shock was greater than the blow she had received. Dazed, she laid there. There was no sound. An eerily silence that enveloped her ears. For a second she thought her hearing had been knocked out....nope. The gathering of Digimon were just as shocked as she was.
"What the crap, dude. You just pummeled a human girl!"
"I didn't mean to?! She just appeared out of nowhere!"
"Hey, you alright?" Bancholeomons face appeared in Rei's vision as he crouched down, taking in her condition. It didn't entirely register thanks to the rest of the voices that drowned out his own.
"Who cares, she's just a human. I say good for you."
"You're such a jerk, Bearmon."
The bickering only grew louder. What a headache.
And instead of worrying about herself....."You okay, Yoshi?" She groaned, sitting up and holding her ringing head.

Yoshi zips over, "I'm okay! But what about you? That looks like it really hurt!" Poor boy looks very concerned for the girl. Well, that's to be expected! She just got whacked in the face by a giant (compared to the nine year old boy) monster! He keeps an eye on her for a few moments to make sure there's no blood. Oh boy, he wishes he'd listened better at that first aid thing his class had done last month! "Can I do anything to help?"
Upon hearing Bearmon's words, the two Kyupimon puff up their chests and move to stand between the ursine Digimon and Rei, tiny fists raised as though they're about to start boxing a creature that must be three times their size. Sigh. Well, at least they're loyal.
Yoshi stands up and frowns at Bearmon, "Hey. That isn't very nice. You shouldn't be horrible to someone just because they're different. That's, um. Racist," Kinda, yeah. Or speciesist. Whichever. But hey! Someone finally wiped the smile off the young boy's face! Wait, isn't that one of the signs of the apocalypse? Seems like it might be!
He stares at the two for a few moments before pressing on, "Why're you guys fighting, anyway? It's too nice a day for people to be fighting in the streets!". Yeah. Totes. They should be off eating enormous Digi-Ice Creams together or something. One of the Digimon the crowd that had gathered takes a few steps forwards to listen to the conversation, arms folded across his enormous chest. Not a Bancho, but still Leomon. Humans getting involved? This could get interesting.

“I’m good. Fine. Peachy.” Rei exasperated, the pain pinpointed to her nose. She could feel blood trickling down, fingers gently prodding the appendage and wincing at the touch. Damn. Her nose was broken. “No, no. I’ll be fine.” She didn’t want to worry the boy anymore and got to her feet, swaying a bit at the sudden motion. The Bancholeomon held out paws ready to steady her but there was no need. Rei waved him off. That’s when she noticed the Kyupimon’s defensive stance against the Bearmon. There was nothing to say though. He was a jerk. And the fact that the little digimon took up arms was just adorable. Oh. That was the problem.
“I’m not very nice? What about your entire race! We’re not the monsters here, you are.” The digimon slightly faltered at his smile but shook it off, growling lowly and pushing a claw into the kid’s chest. He paid no heed to the Kyupimon and that seemed to work up the coat wearing lion. Whatever the fight had been about, only was fueled further by this mishap.
“Watch it.” Gokuwmon growled. He felt bad about hitting the girl, and luckily he had been holding back. Bancholemon had been against this whole fight, especially against barking lower level digimon but the Bearmon had been asking for it. He just couldn’t help himself.
“Besides, what we are doing here is none of your damn business, shorty.”
“Bearmon, stop it!” The Gabumon started pulling his friend back, afraid to piss off the higher level digimon again. “This is going too far.”
Whatever they got themselves into had only made it worse. The tension was high and the crowd breathless, unsure of the scene unfolding before them. What they had thought was just simple brawling entertainment turned into something else. She noticed a Leomon pushing in a tad, and it made her wonder what side he was on. He sort of seemed neutral. More curious than anything.
Finally Rei stepped forward, recovered enough to angrily stomp up to the Bearmon with a pointed finger in return. “That may be true, but it’s personalities like you that only add fuel to the fire. If people like you would actually just shut up for once and try to co-exist, then there wouldn’t be so much conflict.” Her voice was nasally but the venom behind it was clear.
Things were starting to get out of control again.
Yoshi, do something!

Do something, you say? Well. Alright, here goes. Yoshi, as one might expect, isn't terribly strong. He falls on his rear as he's pushed in the chest. He winces a little. Ow. Concrete hurts. Before he can even get up, the Kyupimon jump in front of him instead. Yoshi's D-3 begins to screech and emit light under his sleeve, causing him to pull it out of the way so he can see the device on his wristband more clearly. Yup. Certainly is glowing. The two Kyupimon become cocooned in their own little egg-shaped sheaths of light, which grow several times over until they're around the same height as Yoshi himself. Uh. Assuming he was standing up, that is. "Kyupimon digivolve to..." The first of them becomes very human in appearance, with blonde-ish hair concealed beneath a helmet with a glass visor at the front. A white-and-gold bodysuit covers the rest, along with a blue toga of sorts, held together by a golden brooch depicting the sun. A golden staff appears in one hand, and an oversized Holy Ring hangs off it. Finally, white feathery wings appear from his back, curling around his waist, curiously. "DemiAngemon!" Well. He certainly sounds cheerful. "Kyupimon digivolve to..." The second one becomes much like the first, a child-sized humanoid with angel wings. This one has longer hair and pink accents to her costume rather than her male counterpart's blue, including some bizarre tiny secondary wings on her gloves. "DemiAngewomon!"The two continue to shine with light for a few moments after their Digivolution ends, perhaps to emphasize 'HOLY'. Kind of unneccesary, though. DemiAngewomon pokes Bearmon right back in the chest, "Cool it, buster, unless you want to end up as a tacky decoration infront of my fireplace,"DemiAngemon winces and grabs his counterpart's arm, "Sis! Don't...don't make it worse!" He offers the ursine Digimon a smile, "There's really no need to escalate this further. Why don't we all just go our seperate ways and try to move on?"Literally seconds after Digivolving and they're already forming their own unique personalities. How awful. Yoshi, for his part, seems to be in shock, still sitting on the floor. Something as minor as being pushed had triggered their Digivolution? The Leomon who hadn't spoken takes a few steps closer and lifts Yoshi back to his feet, brushing some dirt off the kid's shoulders. Neither of the angels react to the lion approaching their human, so they must not consider him a threat. Or...maybe they have tunnel vision. He grunts at Bearmon, seemingly amused by the whole series of events, "I'd listen to them if I were you, kid,"

Flabbergasted.
Rei’s mouth dropped into a small O, staring with wide eyes at the two Angel Digimon before her. Really? It seemed like their digivolution was trigger happy. This was….this was just too great. She should have known Yoshi’s partners would be angels. Freakin’ Angels. What else would pair up so perfectly with such an optimistic human being? Laughter bubbled within her throat and echoed out. Despite the pain it caused her nose, she just couldn’t help it.
The Bearmon looked ready for a rebuttal against DemiAngewomon but then hesitated. Whether the cause was Leomon, the new digimon, or Rei’s momentary madness, one couldn’t know for sure. Though probably could chalk it up to all three.
“Whatever.” Finally the ursine digimon retreated, pushing his friend off him who had been desperately trying to get him to stop. “Let’s go someplace else where there aren’t a bunch of rotten humans.” The crowd dispersed as they left, mumbling and talking excitedly to the drama. Regaining composure the spirit user wiped tears from her eyes as she faced the Leomon.
“Well that was fun.” Rei grinned, tucking the D-scanner back into her pockets and glancing to Yoshi. “You alright? And you should’ve told me your digimon could digivolve. That was surprising.” Perhaps she had underestimated him a tad. "Thanks guys." She spoke to the Angels and Leomon, stuffing both hands into her pockets and rocking on her heels. She was grateful she didn't have to digivolve. Flamon would have been a bit too mischievous to handle this, and the wizard....Rei didn't want to even open that box if she could help it. Though she did question Angewoman. Who would've thought she be the spunkier one?
“Surprising indeed.” The Bancholeomon rumbled, placing a giant paw on Rei’s shoulder who looked to him questiongly. “I apologize again for my friend,” He gestured to the Gokuwmon who sniffed and turned away, mumbling to himself out of ear shot, “Alas his pride gets in the way but we must take our leave. We were sort of in a hurry before this….mishap.” The lion digimon grinned sheepishly and waved briefly before departing with his companion. It left her to wonder where exactly they were off to in such a hurry.
“Huh. That was odd.” She mindlessly touched her nose again, wincing from the pain she caused herself. At least they lasted a few days without incident? Rei believed this to be a new record.

Leomon watches the others leave, and then grunts, offering the two humans a nod before heading off in the direction he'd originally come from. Well. That was certainly bizarre. Yoshi is suddenly back on his feet and pulling his partner Digimon into a bone-breaking hug! Well. It would be bone-breaking if he wasn't tiny. And if his partners actually had bones.
"I didn't know they could digivolve either! Um. Not to the Rookie level at least. Eee! Wait until my big brother sees!" he giggles, letting them go and turning back to Rei, "Oh! Um. Are you okay?" he winces. Right! She'd been punched in the face. Oh boy, that's gotta hurt! DemiAngewomon steps up to Rei and reaches up, holding a hand above her face, "Angelic Benevolence,". A pink glow emits from her hand, attempting to repair the pain and minor damage she'd suffered as a result of the accident. What? She is data right now, right? Or...something.
"Oh. Huh. ...Are you okay now?"
Jeez, they're only just starting their little adventure and it's already getting exciting! Being punched in the face by a bear! Puff pastries suddenly changing into angels! All the lions! Definitely not a boring one, that's for sure! DemiAngewomon seems to be sizing Rei up, post-heal attempt, but evidently decides she isn't a threat since she just wanders around and stares at all the other Digimon in the area. DemiAngemon, on the other hand, is staying close enough to Yoshi that he's just invading his personal space. The young boy doesn't seem to mind though. He does seem like one of those kids that hugs everyone for no reason.
Ugh.
"Um. So. What now?"
