"They're gonna be adorable. I know it." Elliot may have been quite shy, but there was nothing but confidence in his voice as he said this. Part of it was because duh, of course they would be. They were Digimon and they were babies! How could they not be? But part of him felt like his attempt at reassuring Haley had just gotten her more worried, and that was the opposite of what he was trying to do. Maybe this would be closer to what she had been hoping to hear. Regardless, he found himself getting excited. Most of the time when he went to the Digital World, it was a ton of hectic adventuring. Now, it'd be a nice, relaxing round trip on a train. Even if it was one of those unnerving talking trains, it was gonna be a great change of pace!
"Hm, lets see. This one's a toughie," Isaac remarked. "We could probably go in any order, since the main Trailmon station goes right through the Digital Core. It's basically the hub at the middle of the Digital World, so we can probably pick quick trains to wherever you wanted to go.
I'd say probably the Village of Beginnings first. The day's still young, but it'd suck if we interrupted the naptime of every baby Digimon there." He shuddered. He may have faced down a surprising amount of powerful Digimon, but the world's loudest tantrum? That was the worst thing he could imagine. "After that I'd guess the Valley of Dragons, just so we don't get there when it's really late at night. Then the Prominence, right in time for the sunset."
"Do you have a jacket?" Elliot quickly asked, realizing that maybe the freezing cold tundra at night wouldn't be the smartest decision were that the case. Worst case scenario, he'd at least be happy to give his.
"Right, yeah. And the Valley can get pretty hot, too, so that's all the more reason to save that for later," Isaac added. "And then we can save Terminus for last.
. . . Wait. How'd you know that last bit?"

Haley liked the plan offered by her from Isaac. It sounded solid, even though she could barely follow what he was saying; mostly because he didn't know or didn't remember most of those places. Anyhow...
She shook her ahead when Elliot asked her if she had a jacket; everything she had was what she was carrying right now. No backpack, no personal possessions, no... anything, really. Well, besides the clothes she was carrying right now and the strange device she had found on her skirt's pocket, well, and the eggs, of course. Sometimes she wondered if she had any prized possessions or something that'd make her feel sad once she realized that now was missing.
No point on dwelling in that, though.
When confronted by Isaac about how she knew that piece of information, Haley just... shrugged. Not like she could explain that.
"I just... know it, I guess?" Her confusion was clear on her voice. "It just felt obvious and I said it."
She had to admit that she had been... pretty suspicious, to say the least, even if she was saying the truth. Hopefully they wouldn't think that she was lying to them or something of the like? That'd be really awkward.
In fact, it made her kinda afraid.

"That's okay." If there was any fear Haley had about the bros' reactions to her little bit of knowledge, Elliot hoped those two words would help dissuade it. "I'm really glad you remember something, at least. It must be scary not being able to remember much, so every little bit helps, right?" He didn't even seem to consider the potential that this was a lie or a trap. If anything, he sounded downright relieved that Haley wasn't just going into life armed with nothing but the clothes on her back and a trio of eggs. Knowledge was power, especially in a place as esoteric as the Digital World.
"We'll help you find your memories. I promise. And if not, we're gonna try and make some great new ones with you," he finally said, smiling somewhat shyly.
Isaac simply made mental note. Even as the more suspicious one as the duo, he wasn't paranoid enough to immediately accuse a 13 year old of subterfuge. Besides, if he was wrong, what kind of monster would he be for accusing her? He was cautious, not Senator McCarthy. "Makes sense, too. First site in the Digital World, and a really common place? That's gonna stand out," he rationalized. "Heck, good thing you knew that, at least. If we weren't around, at least then you'd possibly be able to find your way home.
But we are here. So what do you say? Anything else you want to check out around here before we head for the train?"

A rather obvious sigh of relief escaped Haley's lips as soon as Elliot reassured her. She didn't know why, but the mere thought of losing the first two people she considered her friends was enough to make her shudder.
She was lucky they were this nice. Or maybe she was just exaggerating the whole situation. Either or, really.
"I guess it does help. Wonder if I'll remember something else while we travel." And if that piece of knowledge would cause suspicion or not. She had admit, however, that the prospect of remembering was as enticing as it was scary...
Those thoughts were casted aside as soon as she heard Elliot saying they'd still stick together with her, them being replaced with a smile as she wondered why she worried this much about the whole matter.
Isaac's question got her thinking, though. To be honest, she wasn't sure of the answer.
"Is there anything worth checking in this place?" She asked, somewhat thoughtfully. "I guess I can always come back if needed, but if you guys think there are any must see places I haven't visited visited, I'd be up to getting there. Otherwise, I think I'm good to go."
The idea of a world trip in train sounded exciting. She was pretty sure that the sights would be breathtakingly amazing, and that they'd impress her as if it were the first time she saw them. One of the good sides of forgetting, she guessed.
"So, what about you? You guys ready? I mean, I don't want to impose on you if you're busy or something. We can do this another day if you have stuff to do."
Given how hyped she was about this, that probably sounded really forced; she wanted to do this now and would probably feel kinda disappointed if she didn't, but she also didn't want to be selfish. Elliot and Isaac also had lives, and she had to wonder if it was really okay for them to relinquish their time just to entertain her.

"That's the spirit," Isaac said, smirking. He was prone to distraction and self-doubt too, sometimes, and that did nothing but drag him down. The fact that Haley was seeming a bit more assured about the idea of finding new memories was a sign that she wouldn't have to deal with the same baggage. Sure, she was pinned down by some doubts now, but the future was hopefully going to be a nice step forward for her. She'd just have to breathe in deep and work up the guts to take that step. "As for stuff to see around here, I'd say you did most of it. You checked out Whitewater, you hit the beach. Rest of it's just some little resorts and lots of trees."
It was pretty transparent that Haley's worry about their day was a bit forced. But could either of the bros blame her? She was so excited to get a move on with her life, and her excitement was pretty contagious. At this point, even if they had something to do they would've been perfectly fine dropping it to go on this new adventure. "Don't worry. We don't have anything going on," Elliot admitted. "I mean, sure, Isaac's convinced there's buried treasure around here-"
"We've seen, like, five different pirate Digimon. You really think there won't be any treasure?" Isaac interrupted.
"Come on, Isaac, that's ridiculous! Pirates would never bury their treasure this far inland. They'd run out of patience way too quickly.
Anyway, that's probably what we'd be doing otherwise. Train adventures sound way cooler, personally. The station should be just a bit north of here. Just be careful which one you get on. Some Trailmon can be way less agreeable than others, and some are just unpleasant. But it takes all kinds to do work, right?"
"We're ready when you are, Haley!"

As soon as Elliot and Isaac said there wasn't any problem with them beginning their travels right now, Haley beamed, joy everything but glaringly obvious on her features as she pulled the two brothers into another tight hug.
"Thank you!" She probably repeated those two words four or five times. "You two are the best. Thank you very much!"
This was going to be great, she knew it! Worst case, she'd only spend an awesome time with her two new best friends. And on the best case, well... she didn't know, but the ceiling seemed to be pretty high, and that made her be really excited.
So... they just had to get to the station and pick an adequate train? That sounded like it was easy. Well, it wasn't like she where was the station or which trains were the good ones, but she had pretty much blind trust on Elliot and Isaac at this point, at least for the time being.
Breaking the hug when she realized that she was extending herself too much, she crouched to pick her eggs again. Time to go!
"Let's go! Lead the way, guys. I'll be right besides you."
Since she had awoken, this was the first time she felt she was going somewhere instead of just wandering aimlessly; that felt great.

At least this time the bros were more prepared for the hug, so they weren't as broken in half as they were the last time. They smiled as Haley pulled them in, even if all of her compliments and thanks were making Elliot blush.
"Heh. At least you're getting a better introduction to the Digital World then we are," Isaac said. Compared to getting kidnapped by a tank, assaulted by a dark knight, and stuck in Digimon form because they had no idea how to disengage their spirits? Yeah, going on a nice round trip around the Digital World with two seasoned Digital explorers was going to be a way more entertaining start. " 'Sides, you seem pretty great yourself. Its our pleasure to help."
It was a pretty long walk to the nearest Trailmon station, but thankfully it was a relaxing one as well. Most of the Southern Tropics' residents were busy at beaches and resorts, so the jungles in between were a lot less populated. Thankfully, a less populated jungle meant a less dangerous jungle, so the group wasn't jumped by any more threats like Seadramon. "Trust me, some days it can get pretty hectic around here."
"One time we got ambushed by this Kuwagamon in the jungle, and then the next day bumped into him at a resort here. That was really awkward."
"Be careful around those, by the way. Total tourist traps."
"Yeah. Most expensive water slide we've ever been on."
But surely enough, soon they made it to the local station. It wasn't as big as the sprawling, almost labyrinthine one over in Terminus City, but it was easily one of the bigger ones. How could it not be, when it was perfect weather for one of the nicest resort towns in the Digital World? This was where all of the crowding that Isaac described earlier came out to play, their jungle shortcut allowing them to bypass what amounted to a solid wall of traffic from here to Whitewater. An excitable pack of Gaomon, Bearmon, and Liollmon followed a Leomon in a scoutmaster's hat as they excitedly talked about the pranks and shenanigans they would get up to once they hit the beach. A Numemon wearing baggy Bermuda shorts and over-exaggerated sunglasses took selfies on a broken phone every few footsteps. A bunch of impatient HoneyBeemon took to the skies and flew over the heads of incoming traffic, mockingly wagging their tongues at a Greymon as he yelled at them for cutting the line.
In other words, it was a huge mess of traffic.
Isaac stood on his tiptoes, trying to peer over the many heads and see which trains are available. "Ooh, that one over there's a good one," he said, pointing to one with a teal color and a tanuki mask. "He's pretty quiet. That brown one next to him gets way too nosy, but we can ride him if we have to."
"Its really crowded today. Lets all stick together, okay?" Elliot asked, remaining close to Haley so she wouldn't get swept away into the crowds.

And that's how they finally were on their way; awesome! Haley had to admit that she had been pretty fortunate on this particular encounter, given that it probably wouldn't have gone better.
So far, it seemed that the place was fairly tranquil, and that was something pretty lucky too, at least according to the brothers. They looked like they had gone through a lot of interesting situations in this place.
She really didn't know what a Kuwagamon was, even if it sounded kinda scary.
"And what you did after you found it in the hotel? I mean, something else rather than just waving and saying hi happened, right?" Their casual approach about it made it sound as if that were the case, however. "Why you'd go to a resort, though? Camping in the wilderness is the most fun by far! Why to be confined in a room when you can be outside, gazing the stars? Sounds like a waste to me."
If it were for her, Haley'd probably spend all her nights on the Digital World face to face with the stars. Well, everywhere but the snowy area, at least.
The train station was pretty big, she had to admit, maybe even more so that she had ever imagined. And hectic to boot; she looked at all the kinds of ruckus currently going on there and felt like getting into the train would be an adventure on itself. Especially when...
Some distance away from the train they were supposed to board, the girl saw a pack of what looked like... some kind of goofy beavers that floated in the air thanks to a handful of balloons. She didn't know why, but the mere sight of those balloons scared her. They scared her... a lot.
So, when the consensus became that they should stick together, she did what seemed natural and took Elliot's hand.
Why...? Just... why was she trembling? Even if slightly so, she couldn't stop even if she tried to.

"You'd be surprised. He was way too busy filling up on hors d'oeuvres to fill up on us, at least," Isaac remarked. "Seemed like he was just really, really hungry and a little bit wild because of it."
"At least he apologized to us," Elliot added. "He was really polite, for a guy that tried to kill us and all that."
"Guess that's another way things are different in the cities." Worst that happened in Terminus was hostile glares, tense atmosphere, and the occasional rip-off artist in stores. Worst in the wild was usually a big messy fight. It generally wasn't to the death, because most Digimon weren't idiots. They just were every bit as monstrous as they were civilized. It certainly made interacting with them very different from it was with humans, especially since humans didn't come with built-in weapons, special powers, and more muscles than the entire WWE combined.
"As for why a resort? Sometimes its nice to just sit back, rest your feet, and cool down after a big day."
"Also, they had a water park."
"Yeah, but that thing was a ripoff. We're not making that mistake again."
Elliot considered pointing out that if they stayed the night camping up, their parents would miss them. He then realized that it was the worst thing he could possibly bring up, and stopped himself before he could even begin speaking. If he made Haley feel bad about her family by accident, he would've felt like the biggest jerk in the universe. Maybe it was best that he kept quiet for now.
His thoughts were suddenly broken by her taking his hand. Elliot lit up red, shyly agreeing "Y-yeah. Good idea. Helps us stick together, right?" Surely enough, they were making pretty good progress to the train. They'd be right within the doors soon, and with fewer people leaving Whitewater than entering there would be a lot of room once they boarded. However, as he held her hand in his, he couldn't help but notice that it had just the slightest tremble to it.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice small and full of concern.

Nodding after Elliot's question, Haley felt slightly awkward at him noticing her state of distress rather fast, but what'd Haley say? For some reason, she was scared at the sight of some balloons with funny faces, but she didn't know why, and that was equal parts confusing and embarrassing. At this time, she already guessed that it had to do with one of her memories, and couldn't but try to imagine what the heck must've happened for her to be afraid of freaking balloons.
"Y-yes, I'm fine. D-don't worry about me." In the end, she settled for the simple answer, knowing that she probably wouldn't have to deal with that once they were in the train. Well, hopefully.
After some time, the group seemed to finally get inside the train; she let go of Elliot's hand and sighed with relief.
"Phew, finally in." She said as she went through the rows of seats, trying to find three that were free and immediately pointing at the location. "What about sitting there? Seems like a good place."
She'd follow them wherever they went, even if her suggestion was taken or not.
"I've never traveled in these things. Well, at least I think I haven't." She said after they took their seats. "How does it feel?"
She had the impression she'd find soon enough...

Her distress didn't subside any. In fact, it only seemed worse when Elliot pointed it out, judging by the sudden stutter to her voice. Darnit, why'd he have to go do that? "Okay," he said, trying to keep himself from adding more fuel to the fire. He was a little bit worried still, both about what was troubling Haley and what he was doing wrong himself, but he tried his best to swallow those worries for the sake of her comfort. He tried to think of what to say, before eventually figuring that biting his tongue for the time being would be the smart choice.
At least she seemed to relax once they were in the train. He sighed in relief at her change in voice, and was very glad to see a trio of free seats. "Boom, perfect!" Isaac said, grinning. He made sure to speed ahead a little to snag the seats before anyone could take them away. "Thankfully, there's not too much competition for seats. Since there are all sorts of Digimon sizes, the train's sorted by width. We sat in the dinosaur one time, and let me tell you it feels weird sitting in a giant chair like that." He was practically falling out of the chair any time he moved! It was a nightmare!
"They're really smooth," Elliot said. "It'll feel just like you're sitting down. It can be a bit jarring if it needs to stop suddenly or make a sharp turn, but otherwise you'll barely know you're moving."
"They might try to strike up a conversation, too, but this guy's pretty shy," Isaac explained. "He's sweet, but not much for talking to strangers. When a bunch of regulars are riding, though, he can be a real chatterbox!" Something about the trains having their own personalities and agendas was just really interesting to the brothers, and even if they haven't seen it on display too often it was one of those facts about the Digital World that stuck with them.

Taking into the seats, Haley was glad they found a good place to sit, even if Isaac told them that competition was somewhat scarce, given the various sizes a digimon could have. Fair enough, she guessed.
"Glad to know the travel's going to be relatively smooth. If the crowd outside was any indication, that'd have made me really nervous." Well, it had kinda made her really nervous, but that was on the particular case of those balloons, and for reasons she didn't really know.
To be honest; fear of balloons, really? She could only wonder her past self lived in order to develop that kind of fear.
"I think I may say this one too many times, but I'm really glad I met you two." That statement was kinda out of the blue, but she really couldn't stop thanking the brothers. What they've done for her so far had been priceless. "You've been really nice to me, even though you barely met me, and I appreciate a lot."
In this time of uncertainty, as the Trailmon began its journey towards their next destination, Haley knew that at least one thing was for certain. She'd met two awesome persons, and she'd commit all the fantastic experiences they'd live to her memory.
And hopefully, those would stay there forever.
