Ambitious Beginnings [Marshal] [P.R.O.F.I.T.]

Well. Things weren't exactly going smoothly due to the friend Kyo had brought, but... it wasn't that bad, in all honesty. Those kinds of behavior were abound in this world, after all. Still, Yuu reciprocated the digimons greeting with one of her own.
["Eh. If he wants to behave like a snotty brat, I couldn't care less about that; if Kyo decided to bring him to this place, I guess that she must have a reason for that. Or if she made a mistake, I trust on her rectifying it pretty soon. Now, don't pay mind to that and let's just get to work."]
That was especially true when the Veemon just abandoned the scene with her partner as they took MarineDevimon towards the nearest police station.
So, now that was solved, Yuu went back to her surprisingly intact desk and brought a single sheet of paper from one of the drawers.
["Could you translate me, Ryo? Thank you very much."] Signing that, she handed the paper to Marshal.
["Well, since you're so eager to help, I'd need you to sign this. It's a consent saying that you're compromising to help to repair the damage you caused by temporarily joining our small organization; you'll have to behave by its rules and regulations, but other than that, there's no other binds to that. Just go around doing what you usually do and we get the benefits. If you like the whole dynamic, you can request for a permanent membership once your trial period is over, given you behave accordingly to the organization's policies."]
Theoretically, Marshal should only have to behave like a decent human being and help people around. That'd be enough to steadily increase the team's savings, and maybe even get them some real headquarters. Like, something magnificent enough to be called a first-class business.
Meanwhile, as Kyo and Squire walked together...
"Well, guess that could've gone better." The Astamon said nonchalantly, shrugging her shoulders. "At least I've learned something today. If you think digimons can't get sick, you're in for a nasty surprise, friend. I wouldn't be so quick as to dismiss stuff like that so fast, y'know."
She didn't appreciate the otherwise nice digimon behaving like a smartass, but she wasn't going to berate him about it. Kyo wasn't that type of digimon.
"I know what happened in the past, no need to remind me; you know, I was there. Majority is definitely an overstatement and, the only thing that proves is that humans can behave like assholes just like digimon. Pretty much the most exciting discovery in the recent years, ain't it?"
Still, her words would probably mean nothing in the long run. Squire changing his mindset was a decision for him and nobody else to take.
"Evolving to Ultimate? It's pretty much the same as always, to be honest. You get used to evolving quite fast, and, being frank, it feels exactly the same unless you're exerting yourself or something. Walking around with a restrained dolt isn't the most straining of exercises, so... well, you get me."

Marshal, not exactly eager to anger Yuu or Ryouta, accepted the paper and started to sign his name. "I'd be down to join full-time, if this trial thing works out," he mentioned. "After all, if the incident Coronamon and I are investigating becomes more serious, we'll need all the help we can get."
Coronamon just kind of stood there awkwardly. After all, he thought he was supposed to go with Yuu's partner to the authorities or something, but they had just kind of left without him.

He simply shrugged at her.
"You've been to Eldoradimon. That's what you get for kidnapping without briefing a guy. I would just have kept my mouth shut if I had known." Because he certainly wasn't going to lie just to try and get along. It wasn't in his nature to try for diplomacy. Blunt and direct like most children, he unfailingly and unflinchingly delivered his thoughts with all the tactfulness of a hammer to the face. It appeared this part of his personality hadn't gotten across during their first meeting.
Squire tilted a brow at her, before smirking.
"You'll be surprised." He didn't know if digimon got sick, but he certainly didn't. Whatever healed his injuries also kept him away from nasty little viruses. Not that Kyo knew about any of that; he hadn't ever gotten injured near her, nor did he speak in detail about his capabilities, beyond his awesome sword wielding skills.
And of course, the obligatory defense for the humans for the totally not biased digimon partner. If Squire could have rolled his eyes harder, he would have.
"No, what it proves is that at least a half of the tamers had no qualms forcing their partners to fight and kill other digimon and tamers for them. " He replied bluntly. "Nice and all that your friends are 'good' humans or whatever, but I don't trust humans any farther than I can throw them."
[Honesty check = Pass (Honesty +1)]
He paused, closing his eyes to tilt his head.
"But I do trust you, so they can't be too bad."

Ryouta continue cleaning up the shack from the rubble while Ryu held the shack so it won't slant and suddenly endanger their workspace more. Meanwhile, Ryouta turned to Marshal. "Looks like you're recruited, eh, bud? Well, help me out a bit over here! Let's fix whatever damage that crash did... well, maybe not fix, but just clean up everything... Careful of splinters now! Maybe Coronamon can help somehow?"
Of course after he made quite the progress, he stopped and turned to Yuu, tilting his head now that he remembered something.
"Say, Yuu? About the document underneath that... should we ask for the official to issue new one or something? I dunno if they will think this as some sort of unprofessionalism or not though... "
...Only then it clicked to him that it's really really really really bad for him who works as courier and have to face those people who would get angry at him (probably) and call that he's unprofessional. He sighed.

After Marshal signed the papers, Yuu smiled at him. It wasn't a smile devoid of any kind of devious intent, given that now the older teenger was now her collaborator. And who knew, maybe as time went on, they could even become friends.
["Very well. Looking forward to working with you. I'll try not to disappoint; you should try to do the same thing. Welcome aboard. Now..."] Yup, Ryouta was totally right. Time to do some cleaning up. ["Yeah, we'll probably need to do that, and that assuredly is going to be a pain in my behind. Don't worry, though, I'll get all of it by tomorrow morning at most; you can leave that to me. For now, we should really focus on salvaging whatever's left in a good state, then make inventory of what we can't recover, so I can find their proper replacements as soon as I can. Let's get to work."]
While the blonde preferred paperwork over this, they had no other choice. Time to flex some muscles and salvage some documents.
Kyo didn't seem to be too fazed with Squire, but maybe it was because she had lost a good deal of her sense of humor while on mega. That wouldn't fit on a badass mafia girl, right? Had to keep appearances now.
"Forcing? That's a pretty good one, mate." The mere notion of a partner being blindly loyal to an abusive human being was ludicrous at best, in all honesty. "Do you think that partnered diigmon suddenly become dumb, blindly subservient or something? Because that's kinda offensive. We still are our own beings, and we're still able to do as we please, up to the point of leaving our human partners to fend themselves on their own if we want to; heck, even killing them is an option if we dislike them enough. Digimons causing ruckus isn't the human's fault; it's a two-player game at the very least... or three-player, depending on the situation. Not saying that you should trust them, and by a stretch, just that things aren't just black and white. Feel free to believe whatever you want to, however."

Marshal quickly realized that if he was going to survive long around here, he'd have to learn some sign language so he could keep up communication quickly with Yuu. He made a note to himself to find some way to learn that in the future. Once all the paperwork was done, he turned to Ryouta. "That depends," he answered. "Do we want to start building the base from scratch? Because Coronamon can certainly help make that happen." With that remark out of the way, the two of them got to work.

Squire didn't look impressed.
"Not every digimon partner is as crazy as you are." He simply stated, staring at her flatly. The gunslinger may have been willing to put a bullet between an asshole's eyes, but he doubted the average digimon partner had the guts to so much as growl threateningly at their partner. Kyo certainly didn't have a standard personality for a digimon, much less a partner; she could hardly be taken as an example for the average tamed mon.
"But whatever, I didn't come here to convince you of anything either. What's happening here? You didn't bring me just so I could see you kickass, I assume. Not that I mind, but if you did we kind of missed the show." Which was a damn shame, as he would have been excited to see Perfect and Mega level digimon battle. Crime at the golden city didn't usually go into actual fighting; the digimon weren't dumb enough to fight the Knight Guild if caught. No one wanted to be on the wrong end of Dukemon's spear, or Captain Grademon's blade.
"I didn't even get to see the Slayerdramon in action. Love the armor, by the way. You think I could get his blacksmith's contact info?" Probably not, since Slayerdramon's evolved into their armor most of the time.

Ryouta translated Yuu's words to Marshal, but probably way too accurately. He guessed that it comes from the fact that he often heard Yuu speaking with his phone, and it was rather... nostalgic now. But that robotic male voice, added with the fact that Yuu is like this, would make him feel so weird. He looks a bit of happy that he doesn't need to deal with them, but...
"...Well, if you need any help on that, I guess I can help, but it doesn't include going to those VIP alone."
....Ryouta looked at Marshal, probably a bit in a way that say 'is that true?' He looked at Coronamon, then at Marshal again... and finally Yuu. "...I don't think that girl would like it if it got destroyed twice, so should we just shell whatever we can and somehow reinforce the shack? I know it's a bit too much of an expenditure, but I think that's for the best. Sorry Marshal, I'd rather not risk doing it myself even with your or Coronamon's help. I'd leave it to the pro. What about you, Yuu?"
Either way, working resumed. Several cupboards are still usable, chair is OK and not that damaged, but shack need lot of fixing for sure.

Building something from a scratch, huh? Well, that kinda had been the idea all along, in all honesty; something grand and that'd place them into the scene as a force to be reckoned with, both in the business level and as a group within the Digital World.
She looked at the two of them, determined expression on her face. This was something that would hopefully happen soon, but for now...
["We'll probably start something new and grand down the line, but the time for that hasn't arrived yet. After all, we're kinda just starting out. All things will happen in due time; for now, there's no need to hurry."] Ambition shone in her eyes. ["This place is good enough for the time being; after all, we've like... three members tops? Four if you count that Veemon that Kyo dragged along. Anyhow; place's probably plenty good for now. Keyword being for now. Now, let's keep working."]
Kyo just shrugged.
"Do you call having a mind of your own to be crazy? That's an interesting... choice of words, if anything."
Again, that probably wasn't the point, and it probably wasn't worth to keep talking about it, so instead, they moved into happier topics. Like the reason why she had brought him here.
"Well, I wanted for you to meet the rest of the crew! And, well, maybe adventure some more; I kinda had fun with you the last time we hung out, so why not?"
So, he was interested in Slayerdramon. Well, Ryu was an interesting individual, but she was plenty sure that his usual attitude wouldn't match really well with Squire's, so there was that.
"I think that he comes up with the armor. No blacksmiths involved, at least as far as I know; you know, kinda like when I evolve into this and get this cool machinegun, or... just like I guess you got your armor once you evolved from that blue thing that's your baby form." She made a small pause, before adding. "Right? I've yet to see a smith in the Digital World, in all honesty."

"Sounds good to me!" Marshal grinned. "Let's get going!" With that, he and Coronamon set off to work on fixing the base, trying to keep up enthusiasm to avoid the thought of all the hard work they were about to endure for the next few days.

Squire just grinned. "If that's what you understood, then sure. Let's go with that." He said simply, knowing she understood what he meant well enough. She was too smart not to, or at least he thought so.
He tilted his head curiously at her choice of words the next time she spoke, brows knitting together. Crew? Was the rag tag group of humans actually a team of sorts? The human with the Coronamon didn't look as if he really knew any of them.
"Well, that doesn't sound too bad at all." He commented, scratching at his cheek. "What's with this 'crew', though? You got something going on here?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest while pursing his lips. So many humans gathered in one place (at least, many to him anyways).
"I was kidding, Kyo." He answered, pouting. He quickly grinned. "And you may be surprised; there's a few blacksmiths in back in the Golden City. Some digimon who don't naturally evolve with armor or weaponry may want to try them regardless."

Something from the scratch huh? He remembered how Karin said something about Aestyr. That one was a really gigantic fortress with tons of mercenaries... or sentries even? The anti air defense was quite through. Well, anyway... he seem to understand that this means they need to gather more and more money. Amassing fortune and buying a base, huh... such a dreamy preposition. Ryouta chuckled slightly, thinking what sort of madness would Koharu proposed if she's here. She probably said something like...
"Let's make some island, with the kanji of money and everyone can get the part of island they want!"
...Sounds so her.
"Welp, back to work. Anyway, what sort of other thing that we need to salvage other than the documents?" he asked. "I mean, do we have anything other than that here? Something that you perhaps treasured? Koharu's picture?" he joked. "I think she'll honestly going to go for that Marine Devimon's head though... You know how that girl felt about sentimental things that she used to have."

Surely, it would take some time, but the salvaging would surely, and eventually end. Until then, it was just more work to do. What to do after it, however? Probably keep on doing... something, she guessed. Maybe return to what she was doing before what happened... happened.
["Well. At least this is done."] She finally signed. ["There isn't much to do next, but that's fine, I think. I'd be fine with resting a while. What about you, guys? Up to something?"]
The end of the day was nigh anyway and there wasn't much she could do about it, besides sighing a bit and looking at the sea. Today had been really weird, but... in the good kind, she guessed. Fresh blood could be a good thing, or even a great thing to her designs but... time was the one that'd tell that. Sure, Kyo could get under that. People wanting to try new stuff wasn't something too strange.
"Yeah, of course I am!" She nodded, looking at Squire directly and with confidence on her eyes. "I'll rule the world."
Well, not really. Immediately after, the Astamon giggled in response to her own statement.
"Nah, not really. We're just building something up, and we want for it to be big. And I'm sure it will. It will the biggest thing ever."
At least that one was truthful. What point there was, but to be the best at what they did. While perfection was impossible, the pursuit of excellence was among her hobbies.
"So, guess you're in? I'd really like that."

Marshal didn't understand sign language, so he didn't know entirely what was going on. He just smiled and nodded, and hoped they would understand his situation. "Looks like I'm gonna have to learn some sign language," he chuckled.
Coronamon sighed. This was going to be...interesting. Between the mute girl, Ryouta, and that Veemon, there were a lot of people to get to know! There was a lot of work ahead of him and Marshal.

Squire scratched at his chin for a second, appearing to take careful consideration of each word the larger digimon said. He could appreciate thinking 'big'; if you were going to do something, may as well aim as high as you could. Really though, he still had no idea what it was that they wanted to do.
He shrugged his shoulders.
"I still don't know what you guys are doing." He told her bluntly. "So sure; sounds fun." If nothing else, it was something the wacko in front of him wanted to do; couldn't be anything boring. If it didn't end up being what he really wanted to do, he could still use it to pass time while he waited to find his true calling.
"So you telling me what we are actually doing anytime soon?" He asked, scratching at the back of his head while looking up at her curiously. He didn't know if she was withholding information on purpose or if she was just this distracted.
