Clever Title [Kiyoshi/Sundorklands]

Okay! A new day in the Digital World. Or...a new day somewhere anyway. Kiyoshi had found himself walking around Terminus City, not too far from the train station, clutching a slightly oversized cone of Digital Ice Cream. He peers over the top of the cone, eyes searching the crowds for anyone he might know. Jeez. Everyone here is so big. Digimon and humans alike (What few humans there are anyway). No signs of the friendly Leomon from the other day, or any of the humans he's met before. No signs of his brother, of course, but he hadn't really expected any.
Why does he want company?
Well, his Digivice had suddenly started pinging the last time he was here. Two signals almost on top of each other. He hadn't really understood why until he'd talked to Shichiro and Takahiro. The only time that it'd happened to either of them had been when Takahiro's Digimentals (or 'Armor Eggs') had started pinging his Digivice. Yoshi had been amazed by the concept of his partners being able to digivolve even more! There'd been promises to take Kiyoshi there at the end of the month to find out if his eggs were there, but...
Well. He's nine. Nine year olds aren't renowned for their patience.
And so he finds himself standing beside a pair of child-sized angels (each carrying their own ice cream as well), wandering around Terminus a little cluelessly, as if hoping to find a map, or some help, or...maybe just more confectionary.

"Bro, come on, get down from there."
Sometimes, Elliot felt like the mature one of the two brothers. He also felt like Isaac was starting to like being Gargoylemon a little bit too much. As he leaned back a little and craned his neck towards the sky, watching Isaac circle above the city like a buzzard, he realized that this was just one of those days. "By the time you stop flying around all the ice cream stores are gonna close, anyway."
Isaac was too high in the air to really listen, but he got the sense that that tiny speck of person staring holes through him right now was a somewhat irritated brother. After doing a few more circles he descended down to Elliot's side, sticking the landing perfectly. "What? I had to peep down on the lines from above. Remember how we scored the last spot at that crowded-as-heck steak place? This is gonna be no different, I'm sure of it."
"Okay, yeah, that was pretty convenient," Elliot admitted. "But I swear, you've been changing forms way too much lately. I'm worried you're gonna slip up and start flying to school someday."
"What's not to love? I'm quick. I'm tough. I look like a total badass. And I can fly! Hell, you should use yours more often, too."
"Don't you ever worry you'll lose control? Beast spirits have one heck of a kick to them."
"I dunno. Maybe you'd have better control over Gargoylemon if you gave it more of a workout, too."
"I guess. But can you at least turn back now? I'd at least like to get ice cream with my bro, not with this big old dragon."
"Aw, you're no fun." Devidramon reduced back down to Isaac, and soon the two brothers started making their way to get some ice cream.

Look! Some kind of horrifying and disgusting bipedal creatures! Maybe the rookie form of Numemon? Wait, no. That's just the Sunderland brothers. Yoshi doesn't actually spot them at first, too occupied with his ice cream. However, DemiAngewomon, as flighty as ever (hah), glides off across the street towards the two the second she sees them coming. She points at Isaac with one hand, whilst the other clutches her ice cream like some kind of precious relic from a bygone age. "You! I know you!" her pointing hand moves to Elliot, "and you! You too!" Sure, she's grown since they last saw her...by like four feet. And sure, she's no longer some kind of little marshmallow creature that only says 'beep', but how could they mistake her for anyone else! Oh, wait. By this point, DemiAngemon is looking around for his sister with a slightly frantic expression. He's used to her sneaking off and causing a commotion and...yeah. There she is. Pointing at humans and brandishing frozen lactose treats. He glides over as well and puts his hands on his sister's shoulders in case she's about to fly off the handle and attack the boys. What? She'll start a fight for like... no reason. "Oh, hello again,"
Kiyoshi sprints after his partners, having realized that both of his partners have just up and left him. Sigh. Awful protectors. He skids to a halt in next to them, "Guys! Don't just race off like that, please! It's super easy to get lost around here a--" Oh look! Nerds! "Oh, hi again!" he waves excitedly, a brilliant smile adorning his face, "I didn't think I'd see you two again!"

Isaac and Elliot blinked as DemiAngewomon pointed at them, saying that she knew them. They shot each other matching looks, as if asking each other 'she does?' However, with all of the certainty she had in her statement, it seemed weird to doubt her. And then when her brother came down as well, acknowledging them with a simple "Oh, hello again," all of the evidence was stacking up in favor of them knowing the angels before. But how the heck did that even work? They weren't that forgetful, right?
Wait. This was Digimon. Obviously they evolved! But who did they know that had angel Digimon?
The answer came running up to them, worried about his partners abandoning him and holding an ice cream as well. It was Kiyoshi! The brothers smiled in recognition, realizing that these must have been his previously-monotone partners. Wow, it had really been a while, hadn't it? The last they'd seen him, he was just kind of wandering around on his own in the Dark Area. This was a way safer circumstance to see him in!
"Hey there, Kiyoshi. Its been a while! How's it going?"
"And hey, you're his partners, right? Almost didn't recognize you there! Wow, look at how tall you guys got!" If they kept growing like that, soon they'd be taller than Isaac!
Too mean? Okay.

"Yeah! They digivolved a few days ago!" Yoshi enthuses, "I'm doing okay, but..." he alters his voice to a conspiratorial tone (alters, not lowers), "I'm here on a mission!" He holds up his white D-3 where two little radar blips are flashing faaaaaaar in the distance. "I gotta go see what these are! My brother thinks they might be...um. Digimentals I think he called them? Like eggs! So I gotta go find them! They're meant to let DemiAngemon and DemiAngewomon digivolve again, and that sounds super-cool!"
Uh huh. Why do you need them exactly?
DemiAngewomon finally stops pointing at the Sunderlands, giving them the evil eye before moving back to stand next to Kiyoshi. Her brother, meanwhile, offers them an apologetic bow, "Sorry. She's...um...well, she's like that. She's...really very nice. Once you get to know her," Uh huh. Very convincing there, short stack.
"How come you two are here, anyway?"

Those two blips were flashing awfully far away from Terminus. Isaac didn't even know how far they were going, but he had a bad feeling it wouldn't be anyplace safe. "Uh-huh," he said, looking curiously at the Digivice. It couldn't possibly be pointing in the direction he thought it was, could it? " Where's it pointing? If you'd like a hand hunting for 'em, my bro and I are always up for an adventure." That's true. After all, the last time they found this kid, they were already on an adventure! They were walking through the . . .
If this was going where Isaac thought he was, there would be a lot of screaming. Internal screaming, at least.
Elliot, meanwhile, looked curiously as DemiAngewomon gave him the evil eye. He waved somewhat shyly, as if wondering if she got the memo that they were all friends here. Thankfully, DemiAngemon stepped in to set to set things right a bit. "No worries," Elliot said, smiling warmly. "You wouldn't believe it, but so's my big bro. When he gets mad its like, wow, look out!" He laughed at his attempt at trying to put Isaac's anger into words. Words that didn't include 'Vegeta,' at least, because he was fairly certain a bunch of up-until-recently newborn Digimon hadn't seen humanity's magnum opus Dragon Ball Z before. "So, what've you guys been up to lately?"

"Ummm. I think over towards that place you found me in after I fell into the Digital World with the Kyupimon? Um. What's it called...?" Yoshi frowns, trying to think. A pretty hard thing for a nine year old to do at the best of times, nevermind post-ice cream when he's hyped up on sugar. DemiAngewomon loses her patience after all of three seconds, "The Dark Area. It's coming from the Dark Area. So that's where we're gonna have to go if Yoshi wants to get his crazy egg things,". Yoshi slowly nods, "Um. Yeah. I guess. You two are super cool, and you're always welcome to come along with me! But you don't have to!" He's sure cool, older kids like these two have other things to do. Like skateboarding and backflips.
DemiAngemon returns Elliot's smile in kind, "It seems like we both have pretty similar siblings, then," Yay! Common ground! Common ground is awesome! And these two humans seem pretty nice! They were willing to help walk Yoshi all the way back from the Dark Area when they first met, and now they're offering to go back again! "Kiyoshi's been teaching us how to play video games, and introducing us to..." DemiAngemon thinks for a moment, trying to recall the word, "Candy. Most of it is very nice," He gives a small thumbs-up gesture, "What about yourselves?"

Isaac freaking knew it. Of course it was the Dark Area. Why would he ever assume otherwise? That'd make things too easy. He heavily considered just telling Kiyoshi it wouldn't be worth it. There was no way whatever minor power up they could pull out of an egg would be worth all of the danger and risk it involved. There was far too much danger, far too many threats, far too many harmful elements. They were lucky nothing bad happened the last time, but going back a second time was basically asking for trouble. He was all prepared to refuse.
Then he realized it was Kiyoshi he was talking to. He sighed, muttering a "Darnit" under his breath. "Had a bad feeling you were gonna say that. Well, that's all the more reason for us to come with you. It was dangerous enough leaving the Dark Area, but entering it's basically asking for trouble. So be careful and stick by us at all times, okay? One wrong step could go really bad over there, so all of us need to be keeping a sharp eye out.
Anything else you'd want to wrap up before we head over there?"
While Isaac worked on guiding their mission, Elliot smiled happily at DemiAngemon. "Oh, that's really cool! Glad Kiyoshi's starting with the most important stuff first," Elliot said. It's true! Video games were absolutely essential. Elliot had practically been brought up on the things. And candy? Oh, a childhood without candy was the worst! Seemed Kiyoshi knew a thing or two about suddenly being drafted into big brotherhood. "Things're going good with us. Just the usual. Exploring, schoolwork, getting used to living in Japan. Oh, except Isaac's been having way too much fun with the dragon spirit we found a few days ago. I swear, one of these days he's just gonna use the darn thing in the human world and blow our cover.
Oh! How've you guys been liking the human world, speaking of?"

Yoshi beams his angelic little smile at Isaac. Maybe he's not as innocent as people think. Maybe he knows he's too adorable to say 'no' to. Maybe this was his plan all along.
Nah.
"Wow! Well if you're sure, Isaac! I don't wanna drag you and your brother into anything you're not super-into! But if you're sure you wanna come, then thanks! It'd be super-cool to have more company while we go hunting for these things! And you two know your way around much better than I do! You're both so cool!" Ah, look at that, Isaac. You and your brother have a little fanboy. Isn't that cute?
DemiAngemon nods enthusiastically at Elliot's words. Candy and video games were the most important things they'd seen in the human world so far! Oh. Maybe the people too. "Oh, right! You two aren't native. You both speak Japanese very well! ...I think," Right, like you'd know. "Ooh. A dragon spirit. I'm very impressed. I'd like to see that some time, when it's not inconvenient. I haven't seen much in the way of spirits, to my knowledge, but I know that you and your brother must be very special to have been chosen to wield them!" He pauses to consider Elliot's question. "It's interesting. A lot more crowded than the Digital World, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'd like to see more of it, but we have to degenerate and stay in Kiyoshi's bag when we're there,"

Isaac couldn't help but grin a little at that much praising. He wasn't the vain sort, but nobody would've been able to ignore that much appreciation. "Aw, thanks, Yoshi," Isaac said. "You're pretty cool yourself, y'know. Anyway, we're happy to give you a hand. We might not know the Dark Area as much as most of the Digital World, but we've still been around there a few times. Hopefully, this isn't gonna be too big of as problem." Unfortunately, that was a sentence that seemed to practically invite trouble. Lets hope Isaac's unconscious jinxing wouldn't come back to bite him in the butt.
Elliot grinned bashfully at DemiAngemon's complement. "Heh. We try our best," he said, blushing a little. "It hasn't been the easiest, but the more we've practiced it the better it gets. Did you know Isaac's trying to pick up three of them? He keeps trying to get ASL under his belt too. Wish he'd focus on Japanese for class, but hey, at least he's learning!"
At the mention of them being special, Elliot paused a little. "You think? I mean, as far as I know, we just kinda . . . found them. But I guess you're right, in the we would've been rejected big-time if we weren't the right fit for the spirits. Well, if we're special, then we're just gonna keep doing what we can to live up to that specialness, he concluded.
The mention of the human world saddened him slightly, if only because it must've really sucked always having to be out of sight. "Right. I forgot about that . . . " he said, a bit worried that bringing it up to DemiAngemon might've saddened him a bit. "Maybe you could borrow some clothes from him and pretend to be humans? I mean, you guys look the part way better than a lot of other Digimon, right?"

Yoshi grins and gives Isaac a thumbs up that quickly turns into a hug. Hope you were reayd for that, Isaac! At least it was just a brief one! Be grateful for small mercies, huh? "Thanks Isaac! You guys are so awesome! Um. C'mon then! We'd better get goin'! I don't wanna keep you guys too long, I'm sure you have much cooler things to be doing!" Pfft. Silly Yoshi with his baseless hero worship. We'll soon get that sorted.
DemiAngemon listens to Elliot, but it's clear some of it just slides past him. Like 'ASL'. Still! He's pretty sure it's some kind of language. Sounds like a weird one though. "Yes, I do think so. They wouldn't've worked for you if you weren't special, like you said. Never think you two aren't special, okay? Everyone is, in their own way," Ugh, stop. "Oh. Human clothes. I hadn't...thought of that," Really?
Yoshi begins to walk towards the terminal at that, not a thousand percent sure how they're going to get to the Dark Area, but at least the journey should be fun!
