Colin James was walking the plains around Terminus City with his twin partners Luke and Bellamy. So far, they were doing this because they had heard there was work to be done - to assist with the cleaning up process. However, they haven't had much luck in finding things they could do. The plains were cracked and distorted, the ground was scorched and lifeless, and twisted equipment and structures dotted the landscape.
Bellamy meanwhile couldn't really understand what there was to do here. "How the heck do you 'repair' a plain anyway" the Impmon asked, his arms folded behind his head. He was still wearing the shirt he had got Colin to buy for him in Whitewater City. Luke had put his away in Colin's bag meanwhile, the Elecmon preferring to wear only his blue scarf.
"Hm. Rather than working by ourselves, why don't we find some sort of group or something like that?" Luke asked. "I mean, we just got here, right? If we do everything by ourselves we'd probably get stomped on pretty easily. Do you think we could catch up with Yuu and Kyo?" he turned to Colin. "You still have their number, right?"
"Oh yeah, I do" Colin said, putting a hand over his pocket to check if his D-Terminal was still there. "And that's not a bad idea actually. I might give them a call once we head back to Terminus City"
"Yeah that'd be good" Bellamy agreed, mainly because unfortunately due to them not having much money, they probably couldn't afford a hotel room. But, he lamented as he plucked at his shirt button, alas the price of fashion.
"What sort of group do you have in mind that we could join?" the Impmon asked Colin.
"I dunno... probably one with friendly people" Colin said. "Also one that can get us lots of jobs to do" he added eagerly. It seemed there was so much he could do in the digital world. He couldn't yet work back home on Earth, so the 13-year old was kind of excited at the prospect of making money at last. And if it could get his partners stronger, that would be the best.

The Network Plains were an interesting place.
The entire scenery was marked with the scars of history, as some would say. Every hill, every chasm, every crater told the story of the sheer scale of battles that had come and gone. As someone of great curiosity, seeing the scarred landscape for the first time filled him wonder. He had been told a few short tales, before he had set out on the job assigned to him.
At a rundown bar in Rustport Town, he had heard countless tales of how it all came to be. He was, however, skeptical towards the veracity of these stories. Most of them seemed centered around a single individual of great power and greater madness; it all sounded entirely implausible, even for powerful Digimon.
Shaking his head, the young Dragon man dismissed his thoughts on the matter for the moment, focusing on the task at hand. He was to analyze and report on the damage in the area, in order for P.R.O.F.I.T.'s high command (read: Yuu) to plan out the organization's efforts in the landscape's restoration. A somewhat daunting task; the network plains occupied a very considerable area. The task at hand would take him quite some time, more than likely.
But there was no point in bemoaning his situation. He was a hard worker, and such a task, menial as it may have been, at least afforded him a chance to further explore and scope the land. It would allow him paint his own interpretation of what may have happened, perhaps.
Nodding to himself, GladiXV-mon slowly hovered off from where he stood on a small hill, his Neon Orange eyes taking in the tears of the land, his mind compiling the position where every nook and cranny could be found as he fetched a small notepad and pencil from one of his pouches, humming thoughtfully as he began to write down unto it.
He hovered a foot or so off the ground, moving at a slow pace as he analyzed the area, his tail swinging gently behind him as he wrote down careful notes for future reference.

As Colin, Luke and Bellamy wandered the plains, it wasn't long before they caught the sight of someone up ahead. A dragon-like figure, dressed in an impressive outfit and equipped with a sword. He also seemed to be... hovering. Clearly a digimon then.
However, Colin couldn't see any humans around, gradually deducing that this digimon didn't have a partner. So, an independent digimon then.
"Hey, there's someone. Let's go chat" Bellamy said, noticing the figure quickly too. Colin felt reassured that his partners didn't seem to detect any danger, but decided to check with them regardless.
"Are you sure it's okay to approach?" Colin asked, cautiously. So far he hadn't met an independent digimon yet, the only one he had seen were the hostile Thunderballmon and Chamelemon in the ruins to the west.
"Yeah, it'll be fine" Bellamy assured him with a pat on his back. "This guy looks alright... and also kinda hot but I'll just keep that to myself for the moment, don't wanna scare him off, heh heh" he straightened his shirt collar.
"Bellamy, that's the kind of thing you think and don't say" said Luke, but he was unable to stop grinning from his brother's brashness. "Besides I doubt we can do much to scare him anyway, he looks like a Champion level" the Elecmon observed.
So, the three of them approached the dragon figure, who seemed to be writing or sketching something in a notepad. 'I hope we're not disturbing him' Colin thought. But Bellamy was the first to speak.
"Hey there, Mr... uh..." the Impmon trailed off when he realized he didn't know what kind of digimon this was. He glanced at his brother with pleading eyes for some sort of backup, but Luke only shrugged. Since saying 'XVmon Variant' would probably be pretty un-suave, Bellamy just cut himself off and started a new sentence. "So what sorta thing's happenin' out here?" he finished, hoping to make friendly conversation.
While he was saying this, Colin had taken his digivice out, and was looking at it for information. The digivice relayed some info. Since his digivice could be, well, rather rude in its verbal opinions of other digimon, Colin read the words instead, the voice muted.
'GladiXVmon. The evolved form of Squire-Veemon. A combat expert with an adventurous spirit. Seeks to discover the secrets of the digital world. Can be courteous but distant when met'
"Ah, Bellamy, he's a GladiXVmon" Colin said to his partner. He was young so he wasn't really sure of the etiquette around this sort of thing.
"...Way to miss your cue, Colin" Bellamy muttered, his ears lowered a little.

Process on his task was slow; it was unfortunate, but he tended to be very throughout in everything he did. It assured the quality of his work (most of the time) but in this particular case, it ensured that he would be doing this for perhaps entire days.
Well, he wasn't one to complain. He would probably need a new pencil by the time he was done, though. And a new notepad. He had only been examining the area for about 20 minutes and had already filled out well over a dozen pages of the small pad.
His hand moved almost as a blur as he continued to write carefully, a soft pitched hum rumbling in his throat as he continued to hover his way across the plains. His body seemed to work on automatic; while his eyes registered the landscape and his hand wrote the information, his mind proceeded to go off to lalaland. Every little scar on the earth was given a possible story; an origin. It was not fruitful in any way, but it kept him from being bored by the simplicity of his task.
Distracted by both work and daydreams, it was no wonder he didn't notice the presence of three other beings until they were at less than 10 meters from him. They didn't feel aggressive; as in, no obscene amounts of killing intent came from them. Still...
'This is disturbing my work.'
The hovering dragon looked over his shoulder to glance at the approaching trio, his hand right hand moving to tuck aside a lock of hair shifted by the breeze of the plains. The small group was comprised of a human, and two digimon. At least one of them was likely the human's partner.
The human appeared to be on the younger side, his features denoting a childish youth he hadn't seen in Ryouta or Marshall. The digimon were an Elecmon and an Impmon. Digimon of their level were aplenty on the golden city; but he didn't really know any of them. He hadn't been all that popular with other child digimon. He was still pretty sure they were problem.
He simply tilted his head to the side as he stared at the Impmon in the eye, blinking large neon orange eyes at him. After a couple of seconds, his mouth opened to supply his name, but the human got to the punch first. A, yes; Digivice could scan digimon for information.
"Ah... That is correct." he said, nodding his head slightly towards the human, staring at him for a few more seconds before slowly turning his gaze back towards the Impmon. He ignored the last little comment, not too sure of what it was supposed to mean. Folding his arm over his chest formally, the young dragon bowed politely, "I am GladiXVmon. A pleasure." He said, his lips pulling into a small (coy?) smile. He spoke again not too much later.
"As for your question. I won't go into specifics, but an organization I belong to is planning to participate's in the Network's Plain Landscape restoration efforts. I am merely performing a report on the area to facilitate our future operations."
He paused, a few seconds passing as he hummed thoughtfully, before turning his gaze back towards Impmon's, then the Elecmon's, his head tilted slightly still. "May I inquire on your names?"

The digimon confirmed that his name was GladiXV-mon, and gave a smile and a bow. Colin nodded his head in return. As a newcomer to Japan, he had learned by habit that if someone bows their head, he should bow back. Bellamy and Luke meanwhile weren't familiar with that etiquette yet, so both just gave friendly waves.
Then GladiXV-mon explained what he was doing out here. Apparently he was working for an organization that wanted to help restore the plains. This immediately caught the attention of all three. Why, they had hoped he might be able to help them out in the jobs department.
But first, introductions. He asked their names, so they answered. Bellamy took up the opportunity with gusto. Something about this guy made the Impmon keen to act a little more impressive than he normally aimed for. Probably that look in his eyes.
"I'm Bellamy, aka 'The Impster'" he said, giving a confident sort of smile. "And this is my twin brother Luke, aka 'Bunny-boy'"
"I only let you call me that, 'Impster'" said Luke, evenly. "And this is our partner, Colin"
"Heya" said Colin, a little reassured by how polite this digimon was being.
Bellamy then thought he might get to business on behalf of his partner and brother. He assumed a casual sort of pose, his tail waving smoothly as it did when he was trying to play it cool. Internally he was a little nervous, given that this was an employment opportunity. But that was something he knew how to hide fairly well. That and this guy's smile was... pleasant. Bellamy thought he could come up with a better word than that, but yeah, 'pleasant' seemed to be the right one.
"So yeah, GladiXV-... hey is it okay if I call you Gladius?" he inquired, thinking that any name more than three syllables was in dire need of shortening. But he'd best ask first. The Impster tried his best to mind his manners after all. "What you said just now is kind of the thing we've been looking for. Ya see, we're lookin' for some sort of employment, given that Colin here's new to the digital world and we've only been around a little while ourselves. And we've been aiming to help out with the plains restoration project". He waved his hand to Colin and Luke as though presenting them, then finished with pointing his thumb to himself. "We're pretty hard workers and we could learn a thing or two about help cleanin' up this, uh, mess".
Colin and Luke mostly stood by and let him do the talking. Mainly because Colin was wondering how he was hovering, and Luke was standing by ready to take over if Bellamy said something too off-side. But... so far he couldn't hear anything wrong with what was being said. He gave a nod when Bellamy said what they aimed to do here.

The 'impster' and 'bunny-boy'? What? Where those accolades? They didn't sound like any honorable titles, though... He couldn't think of any lord who would bestow such monikers... His confusion easily showed on his expression, his lips pursing slightly as his brows knitted together, his head tilting further to the side.
It was a waste of time to try and think on it now; he simply nodded at them. At least the human held no bizarre laurels. "Bellamy, Luke, Colin." He said, nodding at each one as he tested their name, humming. "Most of the partner digimon I've met follow this strange trend, too." He stated simply. He paused for a second, "Taking on human names, that is." He clarified. Nearly every digimon partner in P.R.O.F.I.T. was the same.
Gladius? He didn't mind being name after a sword; though he wasn't sure if he should allow this people he just met to nickname right off the bat... Such things were supposed to be for close friends, right?
"Well..." He started, looking uncertain. "I guess that's fine." He said, trailing off. He wasn't partial towards such informal mannerism, but he wasn't going to inconvenience them. GladiXVmon was a bit of a mouthful to some.
So they were searching for jobs? Well, it was better than what most humans and their partners seemed to do around the digital world; bumbling around being lazy bums and butting into everyone's business. Still...
"Ah... I see. Well, I am not exactly a headhunter for our organization, nor am I in charge of employment. If you want to join us, you'll have to speak with our leader." He paused, closing his eyes whilst tilting his head to the side slightly. "The best I could do would be to put on a good word for you."
However.
"That will have to be once I'm done with my task, however." He informed them. "I must gather data on the area in order for our operation's manager to plan our future efforts, as I mentioned before. It will take me... quite a while." Again, the plains were not a small place. He couldn't stop his task now.

Gladi appeared to be confused when Bellamy said 'Impster' and 'Bunny-boy'. The Impmon explained himself fairly quickly. "They're just nicknames we use sometimes".
"Yeah, Bellamy uses them a lot" Luke felt the need to add. Then the dragon digimon mentioned that lots of partnered digimon took on this trend of taking on human names. This was a little of a surprise to Colin, although he supposed he had only really met other partnered digimon so far.
"Is that right?" he asked the group of digimon in general. "So your normal names would be just Impmon and Elecmon?"
"Well... yeah, before we met you we used to go by those names" Bellamy said. "But when we were reconfigured as twins, we decided that names might be a good way to make a fresh start. Y'know, make us stand out among the other Impmons and Elecmons in the world" he chuckled. "I mean it just gets embarrassing when you're in a crowd in the city and someone goes 'Hey! Impmon!' and about five of us look up".
Colin supposed that was right. Although how come this digimon found the idea of names so unusual? Perhaps he'd find out later.
Bellamy meanwhile was pleased to get permission to call him Gladius, although he had seemed hesitant. So he'd keep in mind not to be excessive with it. "Okay, cool" he said. "Well then. That sounds great, if you could get in a word with your leader that is. Who would that be, by the way?"
Then the dragon mentioned that he'd have to complete his task first. This brought about Colin speaking up next. He could hardly turn down the opportunity to assist, since leaving this conversation hanging would result in them waiting and doing nothing while Gladius worked.
"Okay. Is there anything we can do to help?" he asked, eagerly. "I mean, if you tell us what needs to be done, we could help you complete it quicker. And that's good for everyone, right?" he added hopefully.
"Yeah, we can do that" Bellamy said, nodding. "What is it you're doin' anyway? Drawing? Heh heh, well, I can't say I had much experience with that, most drawing I was involved with was people drawing me..." he finished with a bit of a suave look, then he then realized what he was saying. "Oh my god why did I say that out loud?!" he gasped, clutching his head, realizing it was braggish and uncool.
Luke chose to cough loudly here. "You're collecting data are you, Gladius?" he asked, curiously. "Well, if it's as simple as it sounds, we'd be happy to help out".

The Dragon made a sound of comprehension, nodding at the Impmon. Made sense, he guessed. His experience with nicknames had suggested they were only to refer to someone else with a shorter term. Apparently not. "I'll just refer to you as Bellamy and Luke." He told him, shrugging his shoulders with a tentative smile. Those names were too long; and regardless, they sounded much too informal.
The Impmon's experience on the naming matter differed greatly from Squire's. Back in the Golden City, he had never seen a digimon confuse with another; and Knightmon made up a good 70% of the Knight's Guild! Perhaps that was something exclusive to the city of Eldoradimon? That was a little strange, though... "I... see." he commented, scratching at the back of his head uncertainly, his lip curling slightly as he glanced down.
Telling someone the name of a person they probably didn't know seemed like a waste of time. But, they did ask. It would have been awfully rude to not tell.
"A young human tamer by the name of Yuu. She's a mute." He commented, making a sound of annoyance on his throat as another breeze blew by, pushing a few strands off her onto his face. Tucking them out of the way once again, the dragon brought the notepad to his face, raising his pencil too. "I can't really say much about her; I don't know her that well. She's efficient at her job." Not to mention the only one willing to deal with the paperwork.
Help? They must have really needed the job. None of the members of P.R.O.F.I.T. had jumped at the chance to do his current task; in fact, selection had been kind of randomized. Everyone had something they wanted to do and no one wanted to get slapped with such a bore of a task.
Naturally, luck had it be him. Still, he wasn't too eager to jump at this chance to make his job faster. This was the kind of task that needed to be done right after all, boring as it may be. He pursed his lips, taking on a pensive stance as he looked at them. His pencil tapped against his lips as he Colin's offer.
"That's nice." He commented distractedly as he continued to tap the butt of his pencil against his lips, still looking pensive. He blinked, almost as if finally realizing the Impmon's faux pas. No such bad luck for the imp, the small dragon tilting his head to the side, looking at him apologetically. "Sorry Bellamy, got a bit distracted there considering Colin's offer. Could you repeat that again?" He asked innocently enough.
Luckily for 'The Impster', his brother came to the rescue, distracting Squire from him with another line of questioning. The little dragon pursed his lips, once again pensive. "I... really shouldn't delegate my work to people I just met, even if they are interested in joining our organization..." he commented, before shrugging his shoulders. "But, it is mostly just tedious work; and it will let me know if It's smart to put in a good word for you." He finished. "Very well! I accept your help!"
Beat.
"So, what was that, Bellamy?"

Post by Colin, Luke & Bellamy on Nov 23, 2016 12:18:32 GMT
"Okay, that's fair" Bellamy shrugged. He didn't seriously expect anyone would call him 'Impster', he mostly just said it as a kind of fun way to refer to himself. Luke meanwhile gave a nod as though to say that he was also fine being called by what his name was anyway.
It seemed there was somewhat of a cultural difficulty with the explanation of why these two digimon had names and why GladiXV-mon didn't. Well, as long as no further questions were asked, that conversation should probably be left to rest.
Then Gladius said that the leader of his organization was a mute girl called Yuu. "Oh, it's Yuu? We've met her" Colin said immediately. "Yeah... she was the first person I met when I first arrived on this world" he explained. "Well... after Luke and Bellamy of course".
"Huh... so Yuu's actually a kind of Guildmaster, huh?" Bellamy asked, scratching his chin. "I thought there was more to her than met the eye"
Speaking of things that met the eye, it seemed that Gladius was having a little bit of trouble with the wind blowing his hair in his eyes. Colin thought it must be irritating for him, so he couldn't help but venture forth with a suggestion.
"Hey, uh, Gladius?" he said. "I don't mean to intrude, but, have you thought of using hair clips? It's just my sister uses them to keep her hair from blowing around, they might be useful for you".
He only drew attention to it because he assumed the noise of annoyance that he had made was an indication that the wind was making this conversation unpleasant for him, and Colin didn't want that.
Luke meanwhile was also delighted to hear that Yuu was the leader of this group. "I see. Well, she seemed really nice when we met her, she wrote down an explanation of how things work in the digital world for Colin. And her partner Kyo's pretty fun too" he chuckled, remembering that the BlackPlotmon had chased him around the station concourse.
Then when Bellamy had his... episode, Gladius appeared to be mulling over whether or not to accept their help. In the end, he accepted, much to their delight. Already they could hopefully go on some sort of trial run.
Bellamy then considered what he should say next. It seemed that it was noticed enough to be paid attention to, and if he just stammered and said that it didn't matter then that would be uncool. So he mustered up enough of his old Impmon ego to go all-in.
"Well I just mean to say that if ya need some inspiration for your drawings, maybe you could have an incredibly handsome Impmon like me to model for ya? I can do a variety of poses, like the Adventuring Pioneer-" he paused to mimic an adventurer shielding the sun from his eyes with his hand as he looked proudly across the plains. "Or the 'Soldier Returning from the War'" he assumed a bedraggled, downcast, thousand-eye-stare pose. "Or the 'Let's just get this damn moonscape sorted!'" he rolled up his sleeves with a determined expression, then resumed his normal look. "That is of course if ya need that kind of thing" he chuckled.
About halfway through that sentence Luke was seriously considering delivering his brother a Sparkling Thunder to the ass and claim that his tail slipped, but decided against it. He was about to cough loudly again, but Colin broke the silence by laughing. Honestly that was so ridiculous it had to be a joke. Luke made an apologetic grimace toward Gladius, hoping that somehow they could let this moment pass or else Bellamy would do something even more ridiculous. The Elecmon chuckled a little too, he found Colin's laughter infectuous. Bellamy seemed to appreciate the attention.
"Okay then, so what is it you'd like us to help with, Gladius?" Colin asked the dragon enthusiastically.

These people knew Yuu? Well... at least that meant he hadn't been wasting time.
"Oh, You know Ms. Yuu? Interesting." He commented simply, tapping at his lips once again. Well, provided their relationship had been a friendly one, that certainly helped their chances. "Fun is one way to call it." He commented on Luke's comment, his eyes rolling at the thought.
Colin's words quickly pulled his attention, however.
"A hairclip?" echoed the little dragon curiously, tucking back another strand of hair self-consciously. "Oh, this isn't fur... It can't be. These are are supposed to be spikes on my scales." He blushed slightly as another breeze blew by, making the 'spikes' flutter lightly. "They are... strangely numerous... and soft... and thin... I can't quite explain it."
Of course, they were actually fur. They just happened to be exactly where an XV-mon's spikes would have been... and the locks did a good job at mimicking the basic shape of the spikes. A strange change for a supposed XV-mon variant. He didn't really have a way to explain it, though to be fair, he was not actually aware of it.
"But I guess having something hold them in place would probably help." He wasn't too sure a hair clip would be appropriate, though... it didn't mesh well with his armor. Maybe a helmet...? He shook his head; thinking about it now was useless. "I will think of something later on. Thank you for the suggestion."
Now let's address the elephant in the room.
The look on the XV-mon's expression was somewhat undecipherable as he stared at the Imp, his head tilted slightly as the rookie went through a series of poses and some self-aggrandizing dialogue.
"'Let's just get this damn moonscape sorted!'"
A giggle. A small, delicate sound rumbled in the small dragon's throat, his shoulders shaking slightly as his hand moved to cover his mouth. It failed to do anything; the small dragon's shoulders shook harder as he burst into a giggle fit, his laughter echoing in the empty plains, his eyes closed.
He slowly came down from his giggling fit a minute or so later, his fist still pressed against his lips as his shoulders shook, his gaze opening to settle back onto the imp.
"I dunno about handsome." He said teasingly, before reaching out to pat the smaller digimon's head. "Cute, mostly." he said, smiling.
Then he shrugged, winking.
"Unfortunately though, I'm just writing notes, mostly."
The dragon turned to Luke and Colin, reaching into his pocket for a map of the plains, and opening it up for them. It had been marked on multiple spots with a pencil. "We are mostly just gathering information on the state of the plains, and marking particularly egregious areas. This 'plains' will need to be flattened again before we can start restoring its plant life."
Since the 'plains' were mostly small hills nowadays and upturned Earth, nowadays.

"Yeah, in fact I've met a few people around so far" Colin said to GladiXV-mon. "Although I think you're the first independent digimon I've met... oh, you are independent, right? You don't have a human partner?" he asked, just to make sure.
Then Gladius said that his hair wasn't in fact hair, just very fine scales. "Ahh, okay then" Colin said, nodding, blushing a little himself from his mistake. Of course reptiles didn't have hair like mammals did. Well, as long as they weren't a problem for him in the long run.
At this point, even though he had said 'he' earlier, Colin was now a little unsure what gender Gladius was, so he was trying his best not to assume one way or the other. Luke meanwhile had a beast digimon's sense of smell so he guessed that the individual they were talking to was male. Bellamy on the other hand, didn't care what gender he was.
"No problem" Colin said, glad that he had been some help in solving the issue of hair in the face. It was quite annoying for Colin when his hair grew that long, in fact it was pretty much the only reason why he had it cut.
As for Bellamy's routine, it seemed Gladius simply giggled at him. He made a smile. Even if he had made a complete dork of himself, he hoped he had made a good impression with his entertainment. Then he awaited the verdict.
Not handsome, but cute. And he had his head petted. And he wasn't drawing, but writing notes. "Augh!" he cried, staggering off balance and collapsing in a heap. Luke burst out laughing again, having to hold his belly to stop it hurting.
"W-well..." Bellamy said, struggling to build up what little dignity he had left, then folded his arms and attempted a calm expression. "We can write too, I guess". He would have to recharge his composure again, but he was at least happy about being petted on the head.
Then Gladius explained that he was simply writing notes about the areas of the plains that had suffered the most damage. Colin looked at the map he provided and nodded.
"Ah, I see, that sounds alright" he said. "So should we follow you for a bit and help take a closer look around at the damage?" he asked, not really sure about what sort of things he should be on the lookout for.

GladiXV-mon felt like independent digimon sounded rather redundant. The vast majority of the digital world's inhabitants were without digimon tamers; that made them the rule; partner digimon were the exception, and the ones needing classification, no?
"I do not have a tamer, no." He confirmed blandly. His hand moved towards his 'scales', scratching at the back of his head as he turned his gaze to the side. Bellamy's reaction to his previous response was entertaining to say the least, though entirely undecipherable to the little dragon. How the little imp had managed to seemingly trip while standing still, he had no idea. He giggled slightly at the sight, before sobering up swiftly.
"Anyways... You can accompany me, I guess. Fanning out while only having one map is silly, after all." He confirmed, hovering past the human and the duo towards some of the more unstable, rocky formations close to them. "Do you have anything to write down on? I'm afraid I only brought along a single pad. Hadn't been really expecting company, or assistance."
Certainly not from the thrill junkies that made up the vast majority of P.R.O.F.I.T, himself included. He doubted any of them would subject themselves to the task unless they absolutely had to.

"Okay" Colin said, nodding when Gladius said he did not have a tamer. He realized after saying that he had asked that question in a kind of lopsided way, of course he had seen many more digimon around without partners. However he hadn't really spoken to them.
And then there was the fact that Bellamy and Luke had lived their previous lives as digimon without partners too. So obviously digimon with partners would be an exception rather than the typical occurrence.
So they followed Gladius toward a shattered rock formation. He then asked if they had any writing material.
"Uhh..." Colin suddenly reached toward his pockets, hoping he had something in there. There was only his digivice, wallet and D-Terminal. Perhaps the D-Terminal would have a writing function, but... then again he barely knew how to operate the thing. "I don't think I do" he said, then looked at his partners hopefully.
"Ah, heh, I was gonna give this to you later as a present, Colin, but... here" said Luke, reaching into a fold of the scarf he wore around his neck. Out of it he pulled a small pocket-sized book and pen. "I thought you might like a diary to record your adventures in, you know? Write down all the things you've learned and such"
"Aw thanks, Luke" Colin said, smiling at him for how thoughtful that was. And quite useful too. There was so much to learn in this new world that Colin could easily forget a lot of it. The pages were blank, so he could simply write in the dates.
"I paid for the pen!" Bellamy called, making sure his contribution wasn't left out. Colin smiled and patted them both on the head.
"Okay, so yeah, looks like I do have writing materials" Colin said to Gladius. He opened to the first page. "What would I need to write down?" he asked, thinking that it would probably be something to do about the damage, or what would be needed to clean it up. Obviously when the soil of the plains would be replaced, something would have to be done about the rocks since they would probably get in the way of the earthmoving equipment, assuming they had some.
Bellamy meanwhile took a closer look at the rocks. "Huh. looks like they landed here somehow" he said. "Musta been a huge explosion that launched rocks these big"

He didn't care much for all the mushy stuff, but they had a notepad now. Good.
"Good, you have somewhere to write then." He said, ignoring the heartfelt show entirely. "I would have hoped all of you would be writing; make this a much shorter task. But twice as fast is good enough." He said, floating towards the site Bellamy had pointed out, writing down the imp's observations.
"Indeed." Could have been many things. Truly, it was a pity there were no real records on the battle. It seemed like it had been rather important at the time, to cause so much damage to one of the most long standing areas of the digital world.
Ah well, there wasn't much he could do about it. He wrote down a few more observations on the section, before marking down his map. "I hope you are good at keeping yourself entertained, my friends. This task is as dull as you can imagine."
Probably even more so. The young dragon hovered slightly away from them, drawn to one small crater a couple of meters away from the crash site of the rocks. Noting it down, he added it to the ever growing count of craters they would need to fill out in the future.
Hopefully, this would only take a couple of hours with their help.

"Yeah, well... unfortunately I don't think I can write with these paws" Luke said, apologetically holding up his claws. The best he could do was use a brush and ink. Holding a pen on the other hand (or paw) was out of the question at this stage of his development. "How bout you, Bellamy?" he asked his brother.
"I never learned how to" Bellamy said, shrugging. This was surprising to Luke.
"Huh, well, looks like I'll have to do something about that" Colin said. He wrote down the description of the damage as best he could, then Gladius said that it would be a long day of work before they were complete.
"Ah, we can keep ourselves entertained, sure" Bellamy said, joining up with them as they moved to the next point of interest. "Like stories, I'm okay with stories. Okay, so this one time, a Kazemon, a Pegasusmon and a Ponchomon all walk into a bar in Whitewater City-"
As Bellamy finished his joke, Colin thought it was a great stroke of luck that they had met this digimon in the plains. He felt like they would finally be onto something in his adventures in the digital world, where hopefully he could help his partners achieve their best. And, maybe, he'd get some valuable life experience himself?
And, well, Gladius seemed a bit distant, but that was fine. Early days in their friendship and all. Hopefully it would improve.
With that, Colin, Luke and Bellamy wandered around the plains, collecting data and all were hoping they were contributing to its repair.
