Shooting Stars Are Jerks [MPC-#35]

The Murukami household was mostly quiet this winter night, the family all spending their evening tonight in their own little ways. Mr. and Mrs. Murukami were working for their jobs, Izanagi watching television... Izanami had different plans though compared to the rest of her family.
While heading to the Digital World for a few "digital days" was usually a bit of a fun venture at times, recently blizzards have been just sort of plaguing the entirety of the Digital World right now; making it a somewhat unappealing place at the moment. She was lucky that her parents knew about this stuff now, as it made it much easier to fit in these little trips without them freaking out... plus made hiding her partner from her family not necessary.
Luckily for her and Ameno, there was at least something somewhat interesting today here on good ole planet Earth. Meteor showers in the sky were forecast today, so at least there was something of mild entertainment for them this time. Or at least for her. Ameno did not seem to be particularly amused gazing out into the night sky from Izanami's bedroom window, actually quite bored as a matter of fact. Despite her Digital counterpart's moody, deadpan expression right now; Izanami was trying her best to put on a somewhat positive attitude. She wasn't going to let miss sourpuss ruin her own fun just yet. "Do you see any shooting stars Ameno?" The girl would say as she lounged on her bed with the Chromiamon, gazing from her window into the sky.
"What you call a "shooting star" is nothing more but a giant chunk of ice and spacedust evaporating as it travels at high velocities in our planet's atmosphere. There is nothing remotely star-like about it." The beast man Digimon would comment deadpanly, staring at the boring night sky. It wasn't any different from the Digital World beyond the light pollution that plagued the area, ruining any chance of seeing REAL stars. Admittingly it would be very bad if one of those stars were to say come close to this planet... even just slightly closer than this planet's sun would be a planetwide extinction.
"You're no fun at all you know that right." The ponytail-haired girl would snidely comment, almost debating if this was really worth it. Honestly at this point, she was debating just saying fuck it and joining her brother with watching some tv. If it were not for one or two lights quickly streaking through the sky, she would have likely done just that. "Oh! There's one! You wanna make a wish Ameno?" Izanami would perk up some, turning her attention to the Rookie level; causing the rabbit-like Digimon to for a moment look a bit nervous.
"Wish? Why would I want to re-iterate what I want? You know what I want Izanami." Ameno would for a moment withdraw slightly, unsure of what the girl meant. It was usually pretty clear as to what she wanted really... just to be perfect. The Chromiamon was embarassingly aware of her own imperfections as an individual, one whose not tapped into their full potential. She honestly did not have an end goal, she just merely wished to be perfect for the sake of it.
"No no no, you're missing the point." Izanami shook her head slightly, not surprised that her partner didn't quite understand what she meant. Than again, what could she expect? She was out of touch with even modern Digimon, let alone the human race. Guess that she was going to have to be the one to explain this little story then. "So like, my mother always told me that if you saw a shooting star; you could make a wish. And that if you do, it may come true."
Ameno was not convinced by the girl's story one bit, the carbuncle squinting slightly in mild annoyance. She knew that for the Digital World, logic was a bit less in tune with that in the human world; but even that would have been a stretch in the Digital World. A wish granting chunk of space rock was an absurd concept. "That sounds utterly illogical... it is an icy space rock. No magical properties exist for such an object."
Frankly, Izanami was not surprised that Ameno was being difficult to work with. The Rookie level was always the overly-logical one, failing to grasp jokes or even just simple things like imagination. Still, this did not stop her from at least wanting to try and share a moment with the Rookie level. They were basically stuck together, so there was no point in being all morose. "Just humor me okay? I'm trying to have fun with you Ameno. Just give it a go."
The Chromiamon stared at the human girl for a moment, as if silently debating the options that had been laid out before her. Eventually though, Ameno seemed to finally come to an understanding of her tamer's request; deciding to play along with it. However unlikely it was for a wish to be granted, she supposed it made the girl happier; so she would try it. Unfortunately, this process of wish-making seemed a bit too loose and unspecific. How was this meteor supposed to know what she was wishing for in the first place? Confused, Ameno sat up and gazed at her tamer. "Is there an individual I must speak to? I doubt the meteor would be able to hear me from down here, even if it was sentient."
The girl shrugged slightly, not sure how to put it to Ameno. She never really thought that the process of making a wish was difficult... just deciding what wish for! She was at least pleased to see her friend willing to put aside her logic and reasoning to try this out though. It wasn't much, but it was a good first step for them in their relationship. "Try and think to yourself for a moment I guess... I mean, not much else to say."
While still not completely convinced by such a rather crude method of "wishing", Ameno sighed slightly in defeat. It was a silly idea in general, but she would put aside her disbelief for Izanami's sake. Scootching herself closer to the window, Ameno began to entangle her hands in a prayer-type position. Closing her eyes, she began to silently think to herself... she wanted to be perfect. That's basically it, it wasn't a difficult wish she felt; was it? Openng her eyes, the Chromiamon began to look at herself; as if trying to discern if anything was different. Needless to say, nothing looked out of the ordinary... which frankly, somewhat annoyed Ameno. "Nothing happened... your shooting star stories were false Izanami. Were you just lying to me?"
Izanami rolled her eyes slightly. Did she really think something was just going to magically happen or something? Of course, she herself did not believe in that anything magical would happen; but it felt nice to just have something to give yourself hope. "It's not gonna just happen immediately Ameno, nor is it guranteed to actually come true."
"Then WHY did you make me do it then? I feel like I've been had." Ameno would finally start to raise her voice, turning herself away from her tamer so she didn't have to look at her directly. She was honestly peeved that Izanami had the gall to just try and deceive her like that. She had genuinely been for a moment convinced that her wish would have been granted! She had been rused!
For a brief moment, Izanami had debated whether or not she wanted to bother with trying to explain to the hysteric Chromiamon; but decided that it was likely just going to be a useless venture. However, before she could really say anything else; Ameno's visage suddenly was engulfed in light... the light of an impending Digivolution. In a mild panic, Izanami backed off as her partner's form almost tripled in size. With the light fading, what remained was a tall and very feminine beast-like Digimon robed in the apparel of an enchantress. Unfortunately due to her new height Ameno in her Palantirmon form was forced to bend her head down so as to not bump her head on the ceiling. Thankfully, the worst thing that happened was the bed creaking slightly from the Ultimate level's new weight; though both Izanami and Ameno were clearly shocked by the sudden change in form.
"A-Ameno, why are you in your Perfect form!? There's no need for that right now!" Izanami would exclaim outloud, surprised to see the sudden change in form. While it was fine perhaps in the Digital World, but in the human world; it was a pain in the neck! At least her Rookie level was somewhat easy to hide if needed, but this form... well, a 4 meter tall monster woman would have been rather noticable..
"I-I didn't do this on my own! It's not my fault!" The newly-evolved Palantirmon would exclaim, in a slight panic as even she did not expect this. It took her a moment, but Ameno's mind quickly began to deduce possible scenarios as to how this happened; only then did she come up with the key culprit in this. "I wished that I could be perfect... The damn shooting star mistook me and made me Perfect-LEVEL! Your damned not-star was a cheapskate!" She would exclaim, half in a panic and half furious.
Interrupting the two girls' hysterics, the door leading out of Izanami's room was knocked. Peeking in was Izanami's wheelchair-bound brother, he adjusting his glasses some. "Yo, mom just wanted me to like tell you two to quiet down and..." He would for a moment speak before noticing his sister sitting in bed with her partner whom was currently... how to put it, rather mature-looking. "Uh... do I want to ask?"
The black-haired girl took a deep breath for exhaling, glaring at her brother. "No, you don't."
While obviously confused by the scenario, the young man shrugged slightly. It probably was for the better that he didn't ask. The family pretty much agreed that Digimon weirdness would be pretty much Izanami's business only. "Alright then... you just quiet down for mom. Also Ameno, looking good." He would comment, he flashing a mischievous wink at the Ultimate level whom promptly blushed in embarassment as he wheeled out of the room.
After that slightly awkward situation, it was just Izanami and Ameno again. The tamer sighed slightly, shaking her head. Did... Ameno's wish really just come true? Or was it something else... Frankly, the girl was now starting to get a bit of a headache at this moment, she glancing back to her partner. "Can you change back to your Rookie form?"
The Palantirmon shifted her gaze from side to side, an expression of confusion and nervousness on her face. "No... I think it's made this the new minimum form. As in, I can't really will myself back into a lower form." She would softly speak, also a bit stressed. "I guess getting a holosuit now is going to be necessary if I am going to be staying with you in the human world right now... huh?" She would ask, attempting to stand up; but hitting her head on the ceiling. It wouldn't be a problem in the Digital World since there was nothing to hide, but here? She imagined potential problems arising if she stayed like this.
Izanami sighed as she laid down on her bed. Just one problem after another came their way huh? Her partner was right, until they could figure out how to fix this; a holosuit was needed just to constrain her into a somewhat regular size. Appears like they were going to have to make a visit to the Digital World after all... Not something she was highly looking forward to judging by the extreme cold that was plaguing it right now.
She did idly wonder though if it was too late to make her own wish. Of course, the one time a wish comes true; it's not hers! Shooting stars are jerks.
(OOC: Bits please! Also, does the double rewards still apply for the first MPC done still?)
