The joyless looking gray sky kept it's grip held over the city below, snow continually falling at a lax pace. This chilly precipitation continually pelted Drake and his companion Gatomon as they made their way into the city's central square. Drake's eyes were rapidly shifting from sight to sight, making out whatever vivid details stuck out to them. As they walked, Drake's cane emanated a semi-loud -thunk- with each step. Eventually, Drake motioned to sit down on a metallic bench. Although it looked comfortable enough, the cold had significantly made it less enjoyable.
Gatomon joined the human on the seat, though she didn't look nearly as perturbed as Drake did. "We're nearly there now, the trailmon station is within the city." she stated. Gatomon had a neutral expression on her face, as she wasn't quite sure how she was feeling. There was a trace of apprehensiveness in her consciousness; would Barry really be okay going out on his own from here? He was barely able to walk, after all. Without a partner digimon, he'd be defenseless if a digimon went wild in the human world. She sighed as she thought about the issues surrounding Barry's return to the human world.
Gatomon looked over toward Barry's face, noticing that he was staring at the ground. "I thought you'd be a bit more excited, Barry. You're going home!" she chirped, trying to muster up any sense of happiness on hand. Drake took a moment to return her gaze, but he shrugged in response. "Well, I'm excited a little bit. The thing is, though, I'm not really sure where home is, for me. Guess I'll find out soon enough, but still." he replied, his tone quaking a little. Gatomon turned her gaze to the fountain in the middle of the square, the water having been shut off long ago due to the cold and inhospitable air.
For a few moments, the two sat together in silence, neither one really know what to say to the other.

No clue, no place to call home, cannot return. All of that spiraled inside Yuuki's mind. The sixteen years old who got rapidly aged to 20 years old body sighed in resignation. He cannot return to his world, not without getting "Error" in may documents. Not to mention, because his change is probably the most drastic, nobody would even recognize him now. While most girls out there gone 'Kya kya, Noctis-sama', he only can look at them bitterly. Beside him is a Dorumon partner of his, Hikaru. He's playing small song with his bagpipe, feeling a bit solemn. The two just wandering, looking for job that can feed them, yet all in all, nothing much really came up.
...Irregardless of their rather solemn mood, something caught the friendly Dorumon's attention. Fixing his kilt and dusting it, he left his bagpipe near Yuuki and approached a boy that looks... not that older than Yuuki had he have normal growth somehow.
"Excuse me for prying," he began, voice filled with slight yet sincere concern. "Are you OK? I can't help but to hear a bit of what you had talked... Sorry if I'm unwanted. I just felt like something weighing you down. With the city this gloomy, I just hope that my presence can help somewhat..."

Lost in their own thoughts, the two continued to sit semi-uncomfortably with each other. Gatomon thinking of how she was going to say goodbye to her companion, while Drake's thoughts swam with worry. Behind them, a newcomer approached, a digimon Drake recognized as a Dorumon. Drake's eyes widened out of their worried look, and he took on a small smile in greeting. "Oh, no trouble. Sometimes it's a little nice when others see you've got a problem eh? I'm Barry." the human said, pointing to himself for emphasis.
Gatomon's ears perked up in response to Dorumon's greeting. She quickly eyed the figure, sizing Dorumon up before she relaxed a little. After determining that Dorumon wasn't a threat, she nimbly leaped off of her side next to the rookie level. "Hiya, name's Gatomon!" she announced, extending her paw in greeting, her face emoting a half smile. "The two of us are... or were traveling together, our destination was this city actually." Barry chimed in.
Despite Dorumon being a stranger, Drake had a nice first impression of him. He didn't feel as though his business was being intruded upon, and truth be told it was nice to interact with a different digimon once in a while. Not that he didn't appreciate all Gatomon was doing for him, but at times she was a tad overbearing.

Hmmm, the Tailmon beside the human seem to be wary of him. Is she his partner? Irregardless, they start to introduce themselves to him. "Hikaru, nice t'metcha!" he answered positively and shook the Tailmon's hand. Yuuki of course looked at his partner who already gone to meddle with someone again. He sighed in resignation yet again. However, luckily the Dorumon got some sense of personal space this time.
"Oh, and that one there is my partner Itou Yuuki. Travelling together huh... are you Spirit Wielder?" he asked curiously. Travelling together, not really 'partnered'. There are difference in nuance between both. Still, something felt missing from Barry... hmmm, he wont pry that much, but he guess he'll say if it bothered him that much.
"Ah, to this city, then are you going to Real World?" he asked. Something felt like it clicked, but the pieces still missing. "...Is there is something that concerned you in Real World?"

From where Barry sat, he watched Gatomon and Dorumon converse with each other. He'd missed watching digimon interact with each other, or at least, that's how he was feeling at the moment. There was just something about the way individuals who weren't human interacted that interested him. Once Dorumon turned to face him, he refocused on the conversation, as he was asked about being a spirit wielder. Barry's face took on a questioning look as he shift his gaze upward, thinking.
He had a nagging feeling that he at one point knew what a spirit wielder was, but most likely due to his amnesia he wasn't remembering clearly. "Ah, nope, not a spirit wielder. I'm.. just some guy, really." he replied, turning his body around full to be more comfortable as he spoke. His cane made a tapping noise as he swung it around his side of the bench slowly, careful not to hit anything or anyone in the way. Once Drake placed both his hands on the top of his cane he realized he must look like some kind of strange old man from afar. He laughed at himself internally before addressing Dorumon's next question.
"Oh, well I'm looking to return home, that's why I was on my way to the trailmon depot. Long story short, it's been a while since I've gone back to Shibuya." he stated, waving his left hand to emphasize the time spent away from home. A few seconds after Hikaru pointed out his tamer to Drake, he'd look upward toward Itou's position. Drake gave Itou a welcoming wave, his expression relaxed. He wouldn't be offended if Itou chose not to come over, but wanted him not to feel left out all the same.
"I realize it might not have been obvious, but we're not partners. I'm just helping Barry get back home." Gatomon said as she stretched out, leaning against the bench casually.

...With cane, some normal guy, not a spirit user... No way, no way... he never thought there would be any of this similar case to that certain man Karin told him... Like that guy called Yaku or something. This was really dangerous, now he understand why he wanted to go back to Shibuya... but at least, so he thought. Afterall, when someone using walking stick, and somehow accompanied by a kind Digimon who is not his partner, what should he make about it?
"...It's OK, Pal," he pat Barry's arm. "I think you'll be fine once you go home."
Yuuki waved back at Barry and approached the group. "Sorry, I hope he doesn't bothered you... My pal just really hate to see people sad, see... He meant no harm, so I'm sorry if he got too intrusive."
Well, she indeed does state the obvious, but there's no harm in further confirmation.
"Are you his mercenary, Gatomon?" Hikaru asked. "I can sense that you're worried about him... and it's especially concerning because apparently in Shibuya, DATS is inactive... well, we haven't gone home, really. We just heard from our friends."

Drake felt a pleasant, warm sensation as Hikaru gave his arm a pat. It felt nice to have some kind of physical reassurance, although the feeling also felt very old, as if Drake hadn't had positive reinforcement in a very long time. In response, his face had a semi-surprised look, though his composure was still solid and relaxed. As Itou approached the group, Drake kept his gaze on the tamer he knew little about. As Itou commented on his partner's behavior, Drake's facial expression remained welcoming and understanding, nodding as Itou continued.
"Nah it's no problem, I don't mind talking to new people." Drake responded, waving his hand nonchalantly. Gatomon on the other hand, perked up in attentiveness when Dorumon posed a question to her, straightening out. She cocked her head to the side upon being asked if she was a mercenary. "A mercenary? Nope, just a friendly digimon looking to help, pretty much." she replied, placing her paws at her waist while she bounced on the soles of her feet. Both Drake and Gatomon focused back onto Hikaru as he mentioned the human world, and more specifically an orginaization named DATS.
For a brief moment, Drake's eyes shot wide open as a surge of pain wracked his skull. Drake immediately after closed his eyes as his nerves responded to the pain, letting out a gasp as he brought his right hand up to his head, covering his forehead. Gatomon's expression took on a worried look as she slumped a little bit. Something Hikaru had mentioned must've triggered some type of hidden memory within Drake. This had happened two times during the trip, when passing conversation had resulted in Drake feeling some pain. He'd explained it afterward, which is why she knew of it.
"Don't worry, he's... well, he's remembering something from his past. See, Barry's got amnesia, so..." Gatomon stated, taking on a slightly ashamed look for revealing Barry's secret. After a few seconds, Barry would take notice of his companion's behavior. Waving dismissively at her, "It's fine Gatomon, I think....Itou and his partner here are trustworthy, anyway." Drake spoke, still rubbing the pained spots on his head.

Yuuki was glad that the other person doesn't seem to mind the directness of his partner nor the fact that he's being a bit intrusive... but in return, he also got a bit concerned. He looked at the Tailmon who said that she's not a mercenary of his, just a friendly Digimon that helped him. Yuuki blinked, but that sort of comment isn't wrong either in his standard. A Digimon can be a good Samaritan also. He approved that sort of thinking.
Yet... there's something that triggered him, something that made him pained. Yuuki quickly attempted to help him, but with just one arm functional, he's not sure just how good he would be in helping... the Tailmon was quick to explain what's going wrong... Amnesia...
"...If you're related to DATS then high chance that you're an even more experienced veteran compared to me," Yuuki commented. "...Yeah, we... well try to help you out. As best as we can. We also got contact on people from outside here, so... even if we can't return, we can gather information for you too. Also, Yuuki is fine. I'm somehow feeling itchy being called by my surname."

Drake felt a tinge of self loathing as Yuuki mentioned the possibility of him being a higher up member from DATS. It felt almost like some kind of a sick joke, he'd be one sorry excuse of a veteran of any organization in the shape he was in. "Heh, well if I am a veteran tamer I'm not doing a very good job." the human noted, emitting a laugh at the end of his sentence. Despite this feeling, he was genuinely grateful for the willing aid the two new acquaintances were willing to give. Drake knew that very soon Gatomon would be returning to her home in the mountains, so having some familiar faces nearby would help the transition be less jarring.
"It's funny you happened to mention them, though, I do feel like at one point I was connected, but who knows." he shrugged. Absent mindedly, Drake withdrew the yen he had on him given to him by Gatomon, From what he'd counted out earlier in their travels, he had just enough for maybe one meal plus some bus fare. Well, at least from what he remembered prices had been, he had no idea what the current year was. This realization caused him to glance up quickly in recognition. "So, I just thought of this, but has there been anything major happening in the digital world lately?" he asked, an inquisitive look on his face.
At this point of the conversation, Gatomon was distracted, looking around the surrounding area while her tail swished too and fro. She knew where the trailmon depot was located from here, so she was basically just waiting for Drake to be ready to proceed.

"Hmmm, Tamer?" Yuuki only can chuckle. "Been so long since I abandoned that term. I mean, whats there to tame I wonder? I and Hikaru, we just help each other... and I guess I'm not even in the better side compared to you... I mean..." he pointed at his very rigid left arm. "...I've been depending on my partner way too much," he admitted. "I'm quite ashamed, but I guess exactly because we're not in any relationship where the human is superior and Digimon absolutely follows what the human says that we abandoned that term."
The question if there was something major made Yuuki a bit caught off guard. "...Mmm, can't say there's much. I was in hiatus for a year real world wise, but if you haven't been around back then either, a year ago, Devas attacked Digital World. I was fighting against Kumbhiramon. My friends also fought Vikalaramon and Sandiramon, but none of us prevailed... We're still beginners back then," he answered, rather ashamed.
"...Well, other than that, I'm not sure if there's anything... that different? I need to regroup with my friends to share more information, though... Last time I heard, there was apparently massive digital emergence in real world. With DATS inactive, I think there's little who could help."

Drake's gaze shifted from Yuuki to the ground as he heard what had been going on in the past year or so. He remembered the deva digimon, or at least some of them. He'd only met a couple of them, but he didn't quite recall if they had been hostile toward him or not. These digimon seemed like more of a major threat based off of Yuuki's description, however. Drake nodded in acknowledgement of Yuuki;s information, sighing as he began to realize how long he had been out of commission. Upon Yuuki's mentioning of it, Drake did take a closer look at the other human's arm, noting that it appeared fine. With that being said, he hadn't seen Yuuki move his arm at all, so for now Drake opted to take his word for it.
"Heh, well I'm in pretty horrible shape too, if you didn't already notice from my cane here." Drake explained, lifting up the sleeves on his jacket. This revealed the extremely thin and bony arms he possessed, which were clearly lacking in fat and muscle. Drake wouldn't show anymore of his current state for fear of making his new acquaintance uncomfortable. Being that they both appeared to have physical problems though, he could empathized with him. "Yeah, I can understand why you'd prefer not be called a tamer, if that's how you feel. It's just the term I remember using....well, from what I can remember, that is." he stated as a reply.
Similarly, Drake also understood any possible embarrassment Yuuki might have had toward his earlier defeats. Though not clearly, he knew he'd been beaten many times before in the past. "Ah, well don't let the losses get you down man. Someone else was able to beat those devas, eh?" he said, a reassuring half smile on his face. He wouldn't wear this smile for very long, however. Upon hearing that there were more digimon appearing in the human world, he began to question the safety of his decision to return home.
"So, more digimon are appearing in the human world lately? Crap, well... that is a problem." Drake swore, looking to the right at passerby digimon. Gatomon stepped forward, her expression neutral. "Well, even if there are more digimon appearing in the human world, it's still safer for you there than here, at least you'd be around more humans right?" Gatomon inquired. Drake nodded at her in response, but still couldn't shake this new feeling of unease.

Yuuki only could silently stares at that arm and nodded. "...Looks like we're on similar page, are we?" he chuckled mirthlessly and sat beside Barry. "Sorry, it's just preference, I guess. I mean, it's just a weird term at times, it lost its meaning the closer you are to your Digimon.... or at least I think so? Hence I just use the term partner and partnered."
Yuuki shook his head though when he was asked if there are someone who beaten them. "...I don't think any of them are beaten for strange reason. They're just way too strong. Well, I'm not clear about it to begin with, but... well, evil Digimons I guess, they appear and they gone just like that. They don't really have any sort of solid goal, so I'm not even sure what they want."
Yuuki just chuckled when the Tailmon said that it's better here somehow.
"I guess it is. But even so, I cannot cross to the other side for some reason... mainly because despite looking 20, I'm just 16. That and added the fact that my appearance looked different than how I looked a year ago. It was too drastic of a change."
Just to show it, he showed a student ID that showed his picture. Blue eyes, brown hair, but most of it still him. However, the fact that he indeed looks far older might impose a problem in itself.
"...Oh, and I'll probably set most metal detector off. My left arm is semi metallic."

Drake's face took on a perplexed expression, with just a bit of empathy displayed as well at Yuuki's predicament. "That's.... wow, I had no idea digivolution could do that to a person. I'm sorry, man." Drake said apologetically. This moment was quite a bit sobering for the young adult, who'd in a way forgotten that other people even younger than him were getting roped into the various messes this world tended to shovel out randomly sometimes. As if to emphasize Drake's own weakness as well, in a symbolic gesture, he stood from his spot on the bench being sure to leave the cane in his spot. After a few seconds, Drake's legs began to wobble, his body quickly losing it's balance.
A moment after this strange display, he was forced to sit down again or risk falling. "Heh, hopefully we're the worst off as of late, I get the feeling I've seen worse things in the past." Drake spoke solemnly. At this point, Gatomon's face had turned very sullen, Drake's condition reminding her of his partner digimon. Had it not been for Monroe being her stalwart friend for the past year, she wasn't sure if she'd be helping Drake in his situation. She leapt up next to Drake on the metallic, chilly surface of the bench. She got his attention by tugging on his left arm sleeve, causing the human to look at her in mild surprise.
"Barry, I think it's time for me get going. If Yuuki and his partner digimon are anything to go by, I think you'll be able to get home safely." Gatomon said, her expression neutral. Drake felt a tinge of sadness as Gatomon spoke, he knew she was going to leave sooner or later, but he felt as though he'd miss her quite a lot. The human let out a sigh before lightly embracing the cat digimon, who looked a tad uncomfortable. After a second or two, she relented and returned his hug, but not too tightly to avoid harming him on accident.
"I can't thank you enough for all you've done, Gatomon. Are you sure you don't want to come with me?" Drake noted, a slightly hopeful look in his eyes. Gatomon gave Drake a half smile in reply, putting her paws behind her back as she stood in place. "Sorry Barry, I've got my own things to take care of back home! Look me up if you're near the timberlands though, okay?" Gatomon replied, leaping over Drake's body. She landed deftly on the other side of the bench and tamer, and began to saunter away.
She turned her head one last time to wave to Drake as she walked off, with Drake returning her wave with his own, a sad look on his face. Drake let out a sniffle before wiping his face on his shirt sleeve. Afterward, he turned to face Yuuki. "A...anyways. If you guys want to come with me to the human world I'd appreciate the company, but I don't really have anything to pay you guys back with, unfortunately." Drake stated, his eyes darting to the ground after mentioning his lack of funds.

"Oh, don't worry too much about it. If it's irreversible, then I would really love to get a new arm... although I would still love to have this old one. I'm not sure that my aging can be reversed either, but if it can't, I guess I'll have to deal with it eventually... Well, the only boon for this situation is my eyes, though... I don't need any sort of flashlight because I can see night as clear as day... and it doesn't affect my daylight vision, so it's really great for any night exploring. Still, everytime I moved my left arm even a bit, it hurts as heck though... Well, I got painkillers for that..."
...Which makes it harder for him to return to real world.
Still, he was really surprised when Barry just like that attempted to get up and do without his stick. His eyes widened in horror as he just dropped like that, but luckily to the bench. "...You don't have to prove anything, dude..." Yuuki muttered, patting his back. "It's OK, sorry for making the talk goes to gloomy side like this."
Still, it looks like Tailmon will take her leave now. Yuuki was not sure if he could really take Barry home, especially not with his dubious nature and all, but...
"...Its not matter of paying... My conscience also would be burdened if I have to leave you out of sudden without any proper guide, but... The problem is with my dubious status. I dunno if I would be checked or not about my arm... because under this skin, the muscles and the bone are considered metallic in nature. So if it sets off the alarm, it would be problem. Also, I'm not sure if the painkillers are detectable by dogs or not, which is double dangerous because I have no prescription other than..." he looks at the prescription "...yeah, Doctor Kuzuhamon would so gonna raise people's eyebrows..."
Still, he think it again. "...Another way is for me to contact my friend. He's outside and far stronger than me at the moment. Do you mind that? I understand if you're wary, but he's a trusted friend no matter what."

ooc: Sorry for the slow reply this time, work drains a lot of my writing muse. : P
Drake shuts his eyes as he listened to what Yuuki had to say. He appreciated the younger tamer's concern, though he was also sympathetic himself toward the tamer's problems. It sounded as if whatever had morphed this tamer made irreparable changes to his body. With that being said, though, Drake felt as if he might have seen other or similar ailments. He didn't think it was completely out of the realm of possibility for Yuuki to be healed one day.
Upon hearing Yuuki's comment that he had nothing to prove, Drake cracked a small laugh. "Ah, I didn't mean to prove anything Yuuki. I more so wanted to demonstrate what my own physical disability was." he stated in reply. As for the conversation being gloomy, he didn't particularly mind that much. His situation was gloomy at the moment, he was having trouble trying to figure out how to get his life back in full swing. Recognizing the sadness didn't really drag Drake down at all, rather it made him feel a more realistic tension to his situation.
His face did turn slightly more serious, his face turned into a slight frown with Yuuki's thoughts. What he said made sense, should they have any metal detectors to go through, or any other kind of electrical equipment that was attracted to metal there could be issues. While it was true prosthetic limbs existed, they weren't anything like what Yuuki's arm was. He doubted the painkillers would be a large issue, then again he didn't know specifically the societal differences between carrying drugs in the U.S and in Japan.
"Well..." Drake began, "I'm not too sure about trusting people I don't know with my, erh, secret. Thing is, Hikaru here just so happened to make a really good first impression, maybe if you introduced me, though? What's this person's name?" Drake asked, his face carrying a tinge of doubt, his right eyebrow raised questioningly.
