Name: Too much effort...
Default Form: In-Training
Gender: ? Well I use feminine pronouns
Alignment: True Neutral
Skills/Talents:
Digging: The possession of the right appendages for the job have given Tanemon the ability to create burrows large enough to submerge herself in. Provides her with a comfortable place to sleep while conveniently disguising her as a seedling.
PHOTOSYNTHESIS: Her leaves allow her body to produce its own sustenance during the day. The downsides are that it only works in sunlit areas and, since the process only produces glucose, she has to look for other sources for her protein requirements. Besides, consuming food just feels a lot better.
Sleeping: That is to say, Tanemon is comfortable enough to sleep no matter the condition (not that she's tried every condition, of course). You might not see it as a skill, but you try sleeping without leaning on anything and tell me it's not a talent.
Inventory: Too burdensome...
Personality:
Tanemon is a digimon who has no aspirations of putting in effort; neither to forbid evil nor to oppress the just. No, she has no aspirations of putting in any effort to much of anything at all, for that matter.
In a word, Tanemon is lazy. It is an unfortunate manifestation of her delight in "self-indulgence". Because she only desires what pleases her and avoids what harms her, she refuses to partake in actions that require "unnecessary" thought or "excessive" movements in exchange for a life that she has grown very content with. The phrase "Take the path of least resistance" fits her well as even when actions that she normally finds excessive are required, she will attempt (and perhaps fail) to find the simplest solution.
Tanemon is also an ineffectual loner. To Tanemon, engaging with other people interferes with the time she could be spending in what she knows to be pleasurable activities, but she is deftly in need of other people's presence mostly out of an acquired fear of being alone. And to fill her stomach, of course. There are no free lunches, after all.
A person may find this assortment of traits rather hedonistic, and indeed it would be if Tanemon was aware of what pleasures of life were available for her to indulge in. Aside from the time she spent wandering the Eastern Timberlands as a Yuramon, Tanemon hasn't had many experiences with the world outside of the hills she and her fellow Tanemon call home, and this lack of experience shows in her ignorance of some of the workings of the world. Instead, she is completely content with just eating, sleeping, and perhaps playing a little game with herself to pass the time, and she would expect no less.
Despite a lack of aspirations, like most people, Tanemon has an ideal view of how the world should be like, and that is for her world to be as it is now. The introduction of new pleasures might be welcome, but the deprivation of old pleasures is not taken without a struggle. She will go to great lengths to restore the "natural order" ironically forcing her to put in more effort than if she had simply gone with the flow.
Personal History:
Tanemon started her life as a Yuramon in the Village of Beginnings. In stark contrast to her future personality, she actually got tired of an easy life of coddling, so on a night she felt particularly adventurous, she sneaked out of the village to begin an Era of Exploration! And it was very enjoyable...as long as she didn't sleep.
You see, Yuramon have the rather interesting feature of being blown in the direction of the wind meaning that, without a windshield, Yuramon was basically barred from staying still as soon as she decided to retire from the cradle. As I implied before, this was fine when she was awake as at least then she was capable of resisting resulting in endearing movements that one might liken to dancing. Besides, for the adventurous sort, being forced to wander around was a blessing allowing her to quickly visit (but not experience for any lengthy time) the locations and digimon the area around the Village of Beginnings had to offer.
That being said, it was an annoying feature when she was unconscious and thus unable to resist as it would send her to a completely foreign place before she could even get used to the previous one. Moreover, she was beginning to long for the home she had long lost the way to. At the very least, there she was promised food, toys, and a comfortable place to sleep.
It wasn't by any action on her part, but she had eventually come across the Server Woods in her travels, and she quickly decidedly this would probably be the optimal place for her to settle down (disregarding the fact it was the only place for her to settle down). The densely-packed timber ensured that she would not succumb to the wind and she could sustain herself off the fruit on the forest floor. But my dear friends, paradise is not so easily acquired.
It started first with the rustling of the understory. She turned to look, but under the darkness of the night, she could only assume she was imagining it. Then there was the perhaps paranoia-induced feeling of being stalked. Somebody was watching her. Then, not waiting for any further signs of peril, she drifted away cueing the pursuit of a shadowy figure, obscured by the night that was evidently much faster than her.
The shadowed figure lunged, and she...survived. She was saved. Her traumatized memory failing to identify who was who, she decided it ultimately did not matter. It was an experience she would go to great lengths to prevent. At the very least, she did not have the bravery to stay in the woods for a minute more.
After more wandering, Yuramon eventually found a comfortable burrow in the hills to hide from the wind in. The native Tanemon, who dug the hole to begin with, were more than happy to adopt her into their society, and Yuramon eventually digivolved under their care.
