Introduction to the Digital World
August 4th, just a normal day for most people in the world nothing special happens on that day of the year. To young Yume Kyo today was the anniversary of the day his life completely crumbled apart. August 4th was the day that his mother had passed away leaving him to fill an empty void that she had left. Despite the urge to lay in his bed all day, and sulk over the death of his mother he forced a blank expression on his face, and got dressed prepared for the horrid day before him. On his way out the door he grabbed his cell phone, and put it in his pocket. Out the door without giving his adopted parents his aunt, and uncle the opportunity to say a word. He slowly began to walk to the school that his mother had signed him up for, and went to the homeroom sitting at his desk barely beating the morning bell. The classes that day just seemed to drag on for what felt like hours on end the thought of his mother running rampant through his head. Then as if it were fate to help to avoid the inner hell he was building for himself the lunch bell sounded breaking his train of thought. Like a well oiled machine the kids began to herd out of the classroom like lambs to the slaughter.
After making his way out of the classroom he had his lunch bag in his hand looking over the field where all of the kids were eating, and having a good time. The boy then made his way to a tree off the beaten path, and sat down to eat the meal he had brought. As he was about to eat his phone went off in his pocket he began to get excited thinking that it was his aunt texting him to offer him some sort of emotional support. He couldn’t get that lucky he would sigh as he saw a message from a number that he had never before seen. The message said Yume Kyo, do you wish to escape the reality of the world? The boy then responded to the message with a single word response “yes.” A few seconds passed then his phone went off, and he reluctantly opened the message “Come, and discover your destiny! The message also listed directions to get to the train station. Quickly, the boy gathered all of his things, and started following the directions until he arrived at the Shibuya Train Terminal. What was he really attempting to accomplish by coming here: he didn’t even know who was sending the messages to him?
Without a second thought he barged into a rust colored train he had a gut feeling this was where he was supposed to be. After a few moments he continued to wait looking out the window, but noted that nobody was boarding his train. Was he on the wrong train, or was everyone else just boarding the wrong train? His thoughts were brought to a halt as the train began to move creaking noises could be heard throughout the old train as it began to spring to life. Lights began to flash outside of the window he was staring out as he travelled through the tunnel. After the flashing lights stopped he was travelling through an open meadow nothing, but little floating blobs flying throughout the land. At that time a bright light formed around his phone transforming it into a black device. Just what was this device, and what was it to be used for were the questions running through the young boy's mind. The device then began to speak to him, “It is time Yume, time to be a legend!” A map then began to guide the boy until he was confronted by a large rabbit looking bipedal monster.
“Where am I, and what do you want with me? Were you the one that has been messaging me all this time? The rabbit would begin to laugh at the young child, and would slowly begin to move closer to him. “You humans are nothing, but nuisances to the digital world, and I intend to eliminate you here, and now boy.” Fear would begin to sweep over the boy as the rabbit began to advance on him, and without a second thought he began to run. He ran, and ran until he fell off a cliff, and on his descent a dark light burst from the ground engulfing his body. ”Its time!” A small statue then made its way before the boy as he extended his only line of defense the device in his pocket. He pointed the device at the statue which absorbed it, and then it was as if he knew how to handle himself properly. A fractal code ring formed on his right hand, and he touched it to the device, and shouted “Execute, Spirit Evolution!” Then with a flash of light all that remained was a small octopus looking being. “Keramon!” Yume would then look down at his body, and would note the change in his appearance. His body felt like it was running on overdrive he was strong, much stronger than he ever had been before.
Without hesitation the digimon launched up out of the pit that he had found himself in. The digimon rocketed high up over the head of the Gazimon, and flashed a demonic grin. “Bug Blaster!” The spirit evolved youth charged energy into his mouth, and launched a bullet of light at the Gazimon. Catching the beast digimon off guard the attack slammed into the enemy. When the smoke cleared all that remained was a charred mark from the attack. The digimon would then begin to glow, and would revert back to his human form. What just happened?
Quest for Power
After the defeat of the Gazimon the youth was full of so many unanswered questions. “What just happened to me? The boy didn't even know where he was, or why he was there but he loved that power. His thoughts were brought to a halt by the sound of a voice inside his head. ”Yume, if you liked that power you have not seen anything yet.” The boy would then frantically begin to look around for the source of the voice. “Who's there?” The voice was familiar ”Hee-hee-hee It is I Keramon your digimon spirit, and guide to this world. If you wish to survive here in this world we need to get stronger. There is a spirit totem not far from here you must go and retrieve it.” The boy was stunned by the words of the Keramon, his only hope was to get stronger for survival. The thought of it all was terrifying, but something deep inside was enjoying this new world. The boy then rose to his feet, and looked to his right shoulder where he saw a translucent image of Keramon. “You have been there to guide me since the beginning of this, and I will follow you lead the way.”
The spirit wielder began to walk off in the direction that the spirit was guiding him. “Are you sure that we are heading in the right direction?” The spirit would begin to get irritated at the comment of the young boy causing him to snap. “I have been around this world for years do you not think I know where I am going?” The boy jumped a little from the uncalled for outburst from the spirit. “Alright, alright, take it easy no need to get your tentacles in a knot.” Their journey took them to a place that once looked to be a beautiful rolling plains, but at the moment wasn't so beautiful. He began to wonder what kind of monstrous battles had caused this much damage? Was this the type of power that the spirit Keramon was speaking of? A wicked smile swept across his face at the thought of possibilities.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his spirit. “A new spirit totem should be around here somewhere.” The boy nodded his head as if he knew what the Keramon spirit was talking about. From what he could deduce a totem was probably the statue he absorbed into the black device. “So Keramon is this new spirit that much more powerful than you? The spirit would retort. “Hee-hee-hee one that is more powerful than I, not a chance! I am the strongest at my level, the spirit we are after is at a higher level so naturally would be stronger.” The boy continued to walk through the war scarred plains with a smile on his face. The out of nowhere a giant metal shuriken speeds past his ear embedding itself in the hard soil. The boy would turn his attention to a small red ninja perched upon a boulder. “Who are you, and what makes you think you can throw things at me?” Slowly, he reached into his pocket drawing out his d-tector. This digimon is the protector of the spirit we are right on top of the spirit!” The boy began to look around until he spotted something sticking out of the pile of rubble the ninja was perched on. The boy then charged at the ninja causong him to leap into the air.
Quickly extending his digivice he pushed the button causing a beam to shoot out drawing in the totem. Once the spirit was absorbed by the digivice an intense power swept over him, and simultaneously fractal code formed on his hand. With fluid motion he touched his hand to the infrared scanner. “Execute! Spirit evolution!” The boy would separate his hand from the device as he would be encompassed by the body of the spirit within. ”Wizardmon! As the fractal code dispersed all that remained was a was small scarecrow looking wizard. The power was like nothing he had ever experienced. The wizard then turned his attention to the ninjamon. ”Let us test the limits of this newfound power shall we?” The ninja then charged at the wizardmon “Ninja Throwing Knife!” he would toss another large shuriken at the spirit fraction. ”You think that will work on me?” Using his wand to lift him out of the line of fire then in his spare hand generating a ball of lightning. “Electro Squall!” He shouted as he hurled the ball of lightning into the small ninja sending him crashing to the ground.
”Finish him now Yume! The spirit would shout as the wizard nodded in agreement pointing his wand at the enemy. “Magical Game! He shouted as a blast of blue lightning erupted from his wand turning the ninja into a cloud of data. He then landed, and reverted to his human form. “So much power! I love it so much!”
