Sitting at the bar of a restaurant was a certain femme fatale. Melina sat there on a stool with a black dinosaur next to her. The dinosaur looked rather out of place as they say upon the stool their legs too short for the chair but given how they were a Black Agumon that could not be helped. Melina on the other hand looked a lot more fitting as she sat their with a tumbler in her hand swirling the liquid around. She smiled happily at her drink before twisting her head to look towards her partner. The Black Agumon was sat there, comically due to her height, on the stool next to her with a plate of what looked like....chilli; yes chilli as in the meal made with rice, minced meat and kidney beans. Yukimi may not have had cutlery but that didn't stop her. The Black Agumon merely ate it by sticking her face into the plate and munching away; it was incredibly messy and when she looked up from the plate there was sauce all over her nose.
Seeing the fact her partner had covered her face in the chilli's sauce Melina couldn't help but laugh. A hearty warm laugh erupted from her feminine wiles as she reached out with a tissue using it to wipe the sauce off Yukimi's face. "Gosh.....you are so silly...let me clean that sauce off your snozzer" Sometimes looking after Yukimi was like looking after a child. The dinosaur may have been brave, rather intelligent and and a much more morally upstanding person than Melina but there was a few things she struggled with. Firstly she lacked Melina's "street sense" and had a much more rigid thought process which was why they worked together so well. "Thanks...." Despite the fact Yukimi was truly grateful she did feel a little bit embarrassed about getting her faced cleaned as if she was a child. Returning to her drink Melina sighed; lately she had been wondering about why Yukimi continued to be her partner.

Alice and Leo went into some restaurant, they sat down and they got some food. This was the start of a great adve- no they were just eating. It was pretty good, Alice was having some sushi, while Leo got some fried rice. They just got back from no adventure at all and really just them running from Tyrannomon in a prairie... It wasn't their best moment... She chowed down on her sushi and decided not to worry about it anymore, they were safe now. She looked over to Leo and said, "Please don't charge at a giant dinosaur Digimon again... It ends badly for all of us..."
Leo, being a Spadamon, scoffed at the idea, drew his sword, and stabbed it into the table, putting his right foot on it, announcing, "If we don't charge the massive dinosaur Digimon, then who will!?"
"The people capable of doing so..."
"I can totally take down an army with my power!"
"What power!? You're a giant teddy bear right now!"
Alice couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her partner was so into battle that he was willing to charge at giant dinosaur digimon... What was she gonna do with this guy!?

As Melina sat savouring the alcohol, the vodka in fact, she noticed two of the other patrons in the restaurant a young looking child and a giant...teddy bear? Or that is what Alice called her partner but he really did not look like a teddy bear; he was a white furry man creature wearing blue armour! Of course he wasn't a teddy bear! Still as she looked towards Alice and Leo Melina could not help but feel a certain amount of concern for the young girl. With a faint smile on her face Melina nudged her partner whispering something in her ear before both of them got up. The next thing anybody would know Melina and her dinosaur like partner would sit down at Alice's table. "Don't mind me..." She then leaned close to Alice whispering. "But I think it's dangerous for a kid of your age to be herself. I know you have a Digimon but there's strength in numbers." Hopefully Alice would not mind her presence especially when the Black Agumon hopped onto a chair with her plate of food to resume eating.

Alice looked to her left soon after she got Leo to shush and saw a much older lady and a Black Dinosaur digimon thing with her. Was this some tamer? Well then, this was odd... Not creepy at all. She had no clue who this lady was or why she even approached her... Might as well talk back, "Uhh... Normally I'll find people to help me when we're actually out on an adventure. I usually bump into someone... Also, why do we need numbers in a restaurant?"
Leo drew his sword from the table and pointed it at Melina. He seemed way to eager in this justice and goodness thing. He was already in a combat stance the second she approached, shouting, "Stand back fiend! Do not approach my partner in such a way that makes it hard for her to respond!"
Alice sighed and grabbed Leo, sitting him next to him. She was completely reddened with embarrassment and didn't need more of it. Funnily enough though, she would look somewhat similar to Timothy in regards to the complexion of the blush and general facial structure. Whatever, she looked back to this lady and said, "Sorry about that... What's your name anyways Lady?"

Oh it made plenty of sense this young girl would be cautious nay distrustful of Melina and her motivations for sitting at her table. Yes how could she just expect this young girl to actually trust her? Yes those were very good things to worry about indeed. Perhaps Alice was not as naive as Melina had first assumed her to be on account of her youth. "Well. This isn't the safest restaurant in the city." The older human then leaned in close to the others on the table and smiled. "See uh...well. This place is a common haunt of some rather criminal elements of the city. Had a few runs in with th-" Melina would have gone on about how Alice looked vulnerable, despite the fact she didn't look vulnerable, but that was when Alice's partner got involved. He drew his sword pointing it at Melina.
There was no fear what soever on Melina's face as she looked to her partner. Yukimi was now focusing intently on the sword wielding Digimon claws ready and teeth barred savage anger in her eyes. "Little Digimon...hush. Without a single shred of fear in her Melina merely pushed the blade to one side by placing her fingers upon the hopefully less sharp side of the blade. It could have gone rather badly with Leo deciding to take that as a sign of hostile intent but, luckily enough, Alice decided to get involved talking her partner down from it which was good. A fight was not what Melina wanted to break out here especially given how things could get out of hand; you know in that style they often did in old western films. Of course that didn't mean Melina was concerned not one bit,
"Melina Ainsworth at your service my lady~" Melina was as she always was beaming in a sly manner while Yukimi had calmed down lowering her claws; of course she did still keep a close eye on Leo just in case he tried anything. "As for me I am Yukimi. Melina's partner." Despite the moment of brevity Yukimi was still on edge and it showed in the steely tone of her voice. Of course Melina noticed this but she decided not to correct her partner; after all the Black Agumon was only looking out for her partner exactly as Leo had been. It was funny how two Digimon acting on their desires to protect their tamers could potentially end up going at the other's throat. In a rare moment of insight Melina pondered the matter and smiled petting Yukimi on the head. Still for now Alice seemed to have generated a moment of peace one Melina had taken advantage of using it to introduce herself to Alice and Leo; suppose it was time for them to return the introductions wasn't it?

Alice knew this restaurant wasn't the best in town, but it wasn't that bad... Was it? She didn't really worry too much about it and generally whenever she and her brother were together, they'd be fine. Of course, she often left without her brother or just went off when he wasn't around, but he didn't need to know that. She most certainly wasn't the best kid around and her Digimon should be able to hold off anything that was here, or if push comes to shove, run from the situation like the giant dinosaur digimon.
Once Leo was finally at ease, Alice spoke again, "We're not too worried about the criminal... People. We've dealt with worse... Or at least I have..." She then shuddered at the memory of her first time here, her sec- okay, pretty much every time she's ever been in a thread, she's shuddered at the thought. She has had bad luck moment after bad luck moment. Her luck has been terrible since she came to the Digital World for the first time.
The lady then introduced herself as Melina and her partner introduced herself as Yukimi. They seemed interesting enough, especially since it was really odd that this much older lady approached her. Alice definitely didn't trust that at all, but she wasn't going to voice it just yet. She calmly said, "I'm Alice, and the Spadamon is Leo."
Leo wasn't about to let Alice introduce him for him. He leaped out of the spot where Alice dragged him down to and stabbed the table once more, then shouted, "I'm Leo! Alice's partner!" He then drew his sword from the table once more and went back to his seat, staring back at Yukimi. Alice was just wondering how much this table was gonna cost now...

Feeling confident and not worried about the criminals was all well and good however Melina knew that confidence without ability was a little useless; plus it was always better to avoid a fight utterly and not take the risk unless it was really important. Melina did notice the subtle shudder to Alice's actions as she mentioned, and most likely thought about, her prior experiences in the Digital World. Melina decided not to press too deeply on the subject less she dredge up bad memories of course Melina hadn't had too many bad experiences here if you excluded getting attack by a Turkey and changed by a wave of poop Digimon. "Well confidence is well and good but overconfidence is dangerous. The problem with overconfidence was that you could often end up in bigger trouble than you started in.
"Pleased to meet you." It was then Melina realised something: Alice reminded her of somebody she knew not in her behaviour but the way she looked. The elder women's expression furled into one of deep thought as she pondered it. "Do you happen to have any siblings? As you remind me of one of the tamers I met when I first stumbled into the Digital World. God damn that had been a nightmare. It had started out as a simple train ride back home and then devolved into trying to avoid getting murdered by a pissed off Turkey. As somebody with a soft spot for Turkey at Christmas Melina had no desire to end up falling victim to one even a Digital one. Melina actually wondered what Digimon Turkey tasted like now.

Alice didn't really understand why Melina was thinking she was being overconfident. To her, she wasn't confident enough. It took some incredibly bad luck to get flung to every near-death scenario that she could easily think of, with the exception of cars. Wow, she should write a novel on this stuff... She'd be a millionaire with how interested people would be in how she nearly died so many times. She didn't reply at all to Melina even mentioning overconfidence, having nothing needed to be said. So what if this lady saw her overconfident.
Then she was asked if she had a brother... She did... She might've stolen his Digivice once and was dragged to this world that way... Might as well mention it seeing as she asked, "I do have a brother, his name is Timothy and I stole his digivice once. That's how I came here the first time... To the Dark Area... It was scary."

Sipping from her glass Melina listened closely as Ashley revealed the identity of her brother and, as expected, it turned out her younger brother was indeed Timothy. Despite the fact Melina had predicated it that did not stop her from bursting out into boisterous laughter. Oh man there was no way in hell this was just a coincidence it was just far too rich. "Oh man I have met your younger brother. He is so fun to mess with bahahaha. I tried getting him to admit the fact he had a crush on a girl he likes called Katsura. Him and the bird brain brothers weren't exactly keen on the idea~" Which was when Melina realised this was a great opportunity! Oh yes..."But how about you tell me about your brother? I'm sure you know all about him. He was rather handy when it came to protecting me from that murderous turkey." Had Timothy told his sister about the incident with the Trailmon and the overly aggressive Turkeymon? We are about to find out.

Alice had no clue what she mean't by younger brother. Timothy was like seven years older than her. She shrugged it off when Melina mentioned how she messed with her brother. Meh, her brother can take care of himself. Though it was a rather odd coincidence that Timothy and Alice met the same person... "I don't really mess with him... I just steal his stuff and find a random use for it."
When Melina mentioned a crush... She kinda assumed Timothy would have one by now, though the fact that he did was kinda funny to know. But Timothy didn't have two male digimon... One was female. Also, they were really good at sitting still, unlike someone to her right. She decided to shrug this off as well and just say, "Good to know... Now I know what to expect in the future."
Melina then asked about Timothy. Sure Alice knew all this information about her brother, and she didn't really care where it ended up, but he kinda was the one who got her out of trouble most of the time... Maybe she'll just give a little, "Timothy likes to sit in his room, play random games, and navigate Tokyo. Generally he locks the door to his room because I'm nearby and he likes his stuff not stolen."

"Oh? Do you now?..." With what could only be described as a Cheshire grin growing over her face..just what was she planning? Yukimi knew that look and, as she looked up from her plate, sighed before speaking. "Melina try not to influence her too badly...." Like always the black dinosaur was doing her best to temper her partner and pull her back down to earth as she could, sadly, often step beyond the bounds. Yukimi did not mind if Melina herself wished to be a trouble maker, the two of them did have a certain understanding after all, however when she started getting ideas about talking others into adopting her habits that was when things became problematic. "Awwwww...but Yukimi a little partner in crime would be adorable~ Especially you Alice~" Melina giggled and would reach out to ruffle Alice's hair up giggling.
"But fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine. Alice can be a good girl if it reaaaaaaaaally bothers you that much." Her mood changed suddenly and Melina gulped down the last of her drink before using her now free hand to prop up her chin on the table. Her expression changed from one of jubilance to a moody pout almost childish really; to say her mood had been dampened was an understatement. "Huh so he likes to stay in doors all day and play video games?..Hmmm what games? I'm rather a fan of video games too...that said I do work in I.T..." That was when the door to the bar/restaurant opened and in walked a group of Goblinmon accompanied by an Ogremon. From the way they swaggered in, their brutish voices and how everyone shot them nervous glances it should be easy to tell this group were dangerous; what made it worse was the fact they were all armed with weapons.
"Keep your head down Alice..." Melina whispered giving Alice some good advice. She knew this group from past trips to the Data Mine and eavesdropping over conversations. Despite her sharp ears and sharper tongue all Melina had manage to ferret out of the other bar goers was that this posse of Digimon were trouble makers and dangerous ones at that. They often beat Digimon up, stole their tables and worse still. There was also rumours they were involved in more illicit activities outside of the Data Mine but sadly nobody knew anything concrete; whether that was due to it being a lie or a well kept secret was still up in the air however. The Ogremon looked around the room his club resting upon his right shoulder. Eventually his eyes would come to rest on the table occupied by the humans and, as should be expected, he began to walk over.

Alice sat there and listened to Melina's proposition about how she would enjoy a partner in crime. If it weren't for Leo over here spouting justice around every corner, she'd have totally accepted. Though if she did, she was afraid Leo would turn traitor on her and stop her then. With her luck, it was entirely possible. She politely shook her head and said, "I can't. Sorry." She didn't want to make Melina feel bad about it, so kept it as simple as possible.
She thought for a minute, the most she ever played was on this little handheld console she has. Timothy had this whole system setup, playing some dead guy's VR game. Wait, didn't he know the dead guy or something? She gave it a shrug, then thought a little more. He seems to play MMOs, RPGs, and some VR game, also a bunch of strategy things.
Alice turned to see the gang of Digimon come into the bar. She decided that it was a bad idea to make herself known and slumped down a little, hoping not to get spotted. Her heart dropped when they spotted her table... This was bad.
Leo wasn't having any of it though, he foolishly leaped atop the table and drew his blade. Maybe he wasn't thinking straight, maybe he was too heroic for his own good, or maybe this was all a bad dream. Whichever it was, it didn't change the fact that Leo had drawn his sword on these people and was about to shout when Alice dragged him back down and mumbled, "Stop trying to get us killed!"
Leo was about to get up again, until Alice shoved him back down. He mumbled back, "But they're clearly hostile!"
Alice said, and finished with, "And they'll destroy you, stay here and wait it out for now."

(As a head's up I do actually have a plan for my next post so could you please leave the Ogremon to me?)
Well that was a real shame. Alice had, due to one reason or another although Melina suspected it had something to do with her more noble partner, unfortunately declined Melina's offer of being her partner in crime which was sadly really. The idea of a cute little bird to take under her wing and nurture appealed to Melina greatly! After all who DIDN'T want a side kick?! That was when the conversation moved onto more positive topics of discussion such as video games! Apparently Timothy's preferred form of entertainment was RPGs, VR games and MMOs which was...saddening. "Really? Gosh that's boring. At least tell me the RPGs he plays are good ones?" Melina did not think very highly of MMOs or VR games thinking that they were either boring as hell (in the case of MMO's) or (in the case of VR games) too young a technology to actually produce a master piece. That said Melina was rather stuck up when it came to multiplayer focused games thinking they were all a waste of time; especially when those multiplayer games had the nerve to ask for sixty dollars.
All those thoughts and opinions about video games were pushed to the background when the gang of Goblinmon and Ogremon arrived. Sure they may have glanced towards the table Melina was sharing with Alice but the leader looked away almost as if he decided it wasn't worth it. Things would have gone amazingly smooth had Alice's sword swinging moron of a partner kept his mouth shut but oh no that was too easy for a "champion of justice" wasn't it? Leo leapt upon the table and drew his sword pointing it at the Ogremon but before he could say anything, and land himself in any more trouble, Alice pulled him down and whispered for him to cut it out with the foolish bravery. Sadly it was too little too late as the Ogremon returned his focus to the group of Tamers and their partners. The green brute marched over and slammed his club into his open palm glaring down at the group while his goons, the Goblinmon, surrounded the table.
"Tch. T'a got a problem with us ya little twerp?!" The Ogremon slammed his club down into the wooden table breaking it causing the drinks to go flying through the air; luckily enough Melina had finished hers so she didn't loose too much. Seeing the fact a fight was breaking out other patrons paid for their drinks and left pretty quickly as past experiences had taught them not to mess with the Ogremon's group; they were violent thugs to say the least. "Hand over da twerp with da sword and I won't break ya faces!" Yet again the Ogremon slammed his club into the table breaking it further, much to the distress of the rookie working as bartender, making it clear he was only interested in Leo. Melina and Yukimi looked towards each other their gazes meeting but no subtle signal of body language was shared between them. They both knew what exactly needed to be done right now and so Melina, as the adult, rose out of her seat jumping onto the table.
With the new height offered by standing on the table, and the fact she was between the Ogremon and Leo, Melina was in the perfect position to look the green brute square in the eyes. "Alright big guy. Leo over there didn't mean anything by jumping up on the table. Surely he was just a bit....how shall we say overeager? You know how it is right? You see a strong powerful opponent and you just can't wait to fight them! But of course his eagerness got the better of him...so what's say we call it even in the face of your overwhelming power?" She smiled hoping her silver tongue would be able to put this situation to rest. The Ogremon paused and rubbed his chin resting his club on the shoulder which was a start; he had at least stopped smashing the table up at the very least.

Alice was now leaning on Leo, covering the digimon up. She didn't want to lose Leo to this guy. He wouldn't stop slamming his club against the table. It didn't even make her flinch, still doesn't hold up to two super megas going at it in the dark area. Maybe she started out caught in the middle of too much crazy stuff. She just sat there and smiled to the Ogremon and avoided saying anything.
Leo wanted to get up, but continuously would just pushed back down. Now they just had to hop that Melina could talk them down. She let out a sigh of relief as the Ogremon stopped bashing the table. She now just needed to keep Leo calm and hopefully survive.

For what felt like an eternity, even though it was only a minute, the Ogremon stood there rubbing his chin a dumb expression plastered across it. The Goblinmon kept up their positions around the group keeping them surrounded just in case things went sour; for a "species/Digivolution line of Digimon often presented as being stupid brutes it was rather a good tactic to try and get the early advantage. "Hmmm......." The drawn out moment continued as the slow witted Ogremon finally reached a decision. "He thinks I' powerful....heheheh BAHAHAHA alright¬ I'll show ya mah powah!" With a sudden swing of his club Melina found herself sent flying through the air crashing into a wall. As she impacted the wall she felt a sickening crunch throughout her body and was sure that some ribs had broken somewhere; she would definitely need a hospital trip after this ideally one in the Digital World.... Serves her right for trying to stand up for Leo but that said it was oddly out of character for her to stand up for someone else.
Melina would pull her crumpled form up from the ground only to found she was surrounded by the Goblinmon while their leader advanced on Leo and Alice. Of course being the type of Digimon she was Yukimi jumped up to do what her Tamer couldn't! Of course now she had a difficult choice to make. She could either stay where she was to protect Leo and Alice...or rush to her Tamers aid. It was a hard choice to make but as she looked back towards Alice and her partner then towards Melina, who was smirking and reaching towards her Digivice, she knew exactly what to do. Clutching her bruised and battered sides Melina's expression grew into an oddly smug grin with just a dash of crazy in it. "Hehehehe...her Yukimi...I suppose this is time to show them the progress we've made..." With a powerful tug Melina pulled her Digivice towards her the elasticated keychain it was attached to extending to allow her to do so. "Now...Digivolution!..." Energy erupted from the Digivice in the form of a bright light which enveloped Yukimi.
The form of the small dinosaur grew and changed little more than a massive dragon shaped creature of pure white which prevented the observance of any features until, finally, the light broke away in shards which soon evaporated in the air. Where once there had been a black Agumon now there was a full grown Devidramon who, despite bending forward to fit inside the Data Mine, towered over the Ogremon and his fellows. With a loud bellowing roar Yukimi issued a challenge to the Ogremon and his minions who...pussied out running away not that one could blame them; after all what intelligent rookie level Digimon would pick a fight with a champion level? One that happened to be a gigantic f huge dragon at that? Not the Goblinmon apparently. Deciding to take advantage of the fact the Goblinmon had broken ranks Melina, still clutching her ribs and Digivice, walked to rejoin the others standing beside her partner that same crazy/smug combined expression on her face. "Alright...you broke my ribs so you wanted a fight? Oh we'll give you one alright....hehehehe want in on this Alice?" Hopefully the answer to that would be yes as an extra pair of claws on the field always helped.
(okay you can control the Ogremon if you like Vatty~)
