Data nodded at Edgar.
"Indeed you didn't. I must admit I just wanted an excuse to reminisce about the old days."
Alexa definitely wanted to pet the fluffy red dragon. She wanted to pet his furry chest. So she did just that. She gently put a slightly annoyed Tokomon on the ground to pet the fluffy dragon.
"This is the best thing ever," Alexa declared shortly after. But things had to continue, so she went aside so Hikaru could evolve again.
Alexa opened her arms again so Data could jump back into them, which he did. They turned over to Yuuki.
"I was a wizardmon, then evolved into myotismon. Never did get to mega, between you and me, I hope it's something dashing." He wiggled around to his confused tamer. "A wizard and a vampire. They're pretty neat."
Alexa could only just nod her head. Great, she had a vampire bunny partner.
When Hikaru evolved there seemed to be a bunch of energy released. Alexa held Data tighter to her as she struggled not to be pushed back. She opened her eyes and looked in wonder at the newest of Hikaru's evolutions.
"Okay. Even I admit that's pretty darn cool," Data said, speaking for both himself and his tamer.

"and instantly the cool factor is gone." Edgar joked as the large dragon seemingly commanded them to pet him, while Alexa did go pet the dragon Edgar was a bit more put off on the idea of petting a large stronger then a tank dragon, even if he did act silly like this. "No, must resist petting the giant dragon." Artemis added acting like it was hard to do, despite the fact like Alexa he was already over there doing the same thing before flying backwards standing next to Edgar.
A Wizard and a Vampire, well that was an odd thing, though that different evolution thing did peak Edgar's interests, so it was a mixed bag it seemed If so he wondered what Data would evolve to now that he was partnered, perhaps he'd become something else. But those thoughts were quickly dwarfed as the dragon then turned into a large knight. "Wow." Was all Edgar could get out as he stood in front of them, while it was crazy it was too awesome for Edgar not to stare like a kid at his Christmas presents.
Artemis though was a bit put off for a moment, mostly because he could seemingly feel the strength a digimon like this could put off, eventually he managed to deal with it. "Wow, Strong. It feels unreal." Though he said that his telepathy still managed to pierce into the Mega's mind

Hikaru was happy. Looks like they enjoyed his fluff. But that is not important for now. He seem to summoned several chairs for the human and smaller digimon to sit, and a regal throne like chair for himself. Standing so much must be tiring. But that was some secondary focus.
"This form is penultimate form for digimons. When you got to this form, you will find that fighting in this form in human world is unwise. The collateral damage would be too much. And let's just say that more than tanks needed to subdue me now. This is why, Digimon can be militarized and why we must kept our existence a secret... Otherwise..."
Hikaru focused small energy on his finger and launched it at the dummy. It was very small energy, like a bead, yet the dummy exploded to smithereen. Hikaru seem to feel a bit of distaste at that demonstration, but they need to know what sort of power their partner have.
"There is one more form.. And it's often called a one man army... We just happened to achieved that form again few days ago," Hikaru added.

Data could be fluffy too! Wait, why was he getting jealous? It wasn't like he had anything to prove. Still, seeing Alexa take so much pleasure from Hikaru made him feel a bit inadequate. He hadn't felt like that since he was still a junior cop. Okay, being a partner digimon was officially weird.
Alexa nodded at Hikaru's words. She could only imagine the damage he could inflict on the world in that form. Digimon were really extraordinary beings. And here she was, a fully unremarkable human, paired with a creature who could potentially destroy parts of an entire city. She felt like whoever was choosing partners on whatever day she got chosen might have been a bit off. Not that there was anything she could do about it. Well, she could abandon Data, but even thinking about it made her feel guilty. No, this was her burden, or rather, her duty now.
She was suddenly taken away from her thoughts by a loud boom. Oh wow, did Hikaru just completely destroy the test dummy with just a flick of his finger? Okay then. And now there was another form involved?
"W-will the gym be able to withstand you taking an even more powerful form," Asked Alexa.
Data nuzzled his tamer.
"Relax girl, they know what they're doing."

And then the newly powered up digimon summoned, chairs? Well then that was the least expected thing so far, still never one to turn down an offer Edgar quickly sat down followed by Artemis flying up and sitting on one. "I can imagine how bad that would be if it got out, and to think things like that are just, normal there." Edgar gave a small sigh calming his nerves, while this was a scary thing to think about, considering he just blew up that dummy with a flick of his wrist.
"There's a form beyond that? And a one-man army at that. Starting to think this evolution thing just never ends." Edgar joked around the end giving a small chuckle at that, it would be scary if it didn't, especially after hearing they'd need more then tanks to take care of that, dangerous was putting it lightly, it was downright deadly even at a rookie.
Though his partner seemed to pick up on his fear. "Don't worry, as long as I'm here you'll be safe General, it might be an army of one but we'll command an army." That made Edgar smile a bit.
"I'm sure they won't do any damage, o-on purpose anyway." Edgar said to try and calm Alexa down, so far they seemed to have everything under control

"Normally it ends here," Hikaru said. "Digimons that managed to gain perfect stage are few and so... And even more when you goes to this form. Let's just say that this form is reserved for strong digimons that has survived countless battles. The next form probably requires more than that. A feat only very little can achieve. Yuuki, help me out here?"
He guessed that he have no choice. "For partnered human.. Specifically mine and Alexa's class, we can do this..."
Yuuki thrusted out his Digivice, where it spelled out the word <UNISON>. The digivice exploded and formed a data sphere. Hikaru's form reduced to sphere of data that coated Yuuki. The data formed armor around him, and before long, THe teen now coated with armor suitable for a lord knight, if you ignored the gundam-like booster wing that sprouted from his back. If the former form can lay waste to entire district, this one would be a catastrophe on scale that can lay waste upon an entire city.
"This is a process is called bipmerging. At this state I am not human, but digimon. I am Yuuki, but I am also Hikaru. We're one, and one we're two... Sure this form is neat and all... But do not linger too long in this form. Power is toxic to human and Digimon alike, and especially human..."
Yuuki devolved back to Yuuki and Hikaru the Dorumon. His left arm that was seem to be normal when he Biomerged now become stitt again for some reason.
"red eyes aren't quite normal for a japanese is it?"

No damage 'on purpose' was meant to be comforting, but wasn't. Alexa probably had enough money to rebuild the gym if anything happened to it, but destroying the gym seemed quite counter-intuitive to the whole 'keeping digimon a secret' thing.
Data was more interesting in sticking his nose in things, though not literally.
"Oh man, there are more evolution. Armor, DNA, all sorts of fun stuff. Any size or shape you need, a digimon can probably turn into that," he said. He still was unsure of the implications of 'general', though.
Alexa watched as Yuuki was 'consumed' by Hikaru's data. She was worried, but had very little to worry about as the two formed a new digimon. Well, given their power, she had that to worry about, but otherwise it seemed Yuuki was just fine, just... digitized.
As the two de-evolved she rested her eyes on Yuuki's arm. It was probably polite not to ask, so she didn't comment.
Data as always, had more questions.
"How long did it take you boys to be able to do that? Have you have any really tough fights where you've needed to use it?" He'd forgotten that they said they'd only just gotten the form.

A fusion, the shock on Edgar's face was shown well enough. Of all the things he hadn't seen coming, this took the cake. It was both awesome, yet the way they had phrased that had worried Edgar quite a bit. It was that last bit that Edgar truly noticed the red eyes and arm, though he bit his tongue deciding not to ask, mostly because it was obvious what he meant by that unless Edgar completely missed the point.
"Don't worry General, you don't have to worry about fusion, You're my commander, I'm pretty sure you'll never be on the front lines." Artemis pointed out, Yuuki did mention that was only for partnered digimon, though that made him question what Edgar was going to do, though since he was apparently getting more partners, and with the fact, those two just combined was that what he was going to do to them?
"Oh, also who's in control, or are your minds like melded together, or are they separate. Also, Also what happens when you take damage like that, are both affected or do you take turns getting hurt." Artemis asked he seemed to have quite a few questions also.

"How long? Eight months, real world time and digital world time, give or take, I guess. To recover back the form after Hikaru died... probably about four months. Huge fights? Lot of them, you know? I think this will answer Artemis' second question." Yuuki unzipped his zip up sleeveless shirt and... what's underneath was... quite a lot. Shot wounds, slashes, burns... and he suddenly pulled the skin of his left arm, revealing that it was like a layer to disguise the nasty scars underneath. There are even tissues that sticking out... but instead of flesh, they're metal. "...Hikaru can heal, but healing human might not be as effective as healing Digimon... so scars are to be expected," he answered, and then zipped them back. "The arm skin is on the process of healing, so let's just say it'll covered up, but the scars probably gonna take long before they heal...that's probably why I decided to take backseat and kinda just retire."
"...I said it before, but," Hikaru quipped "...power are very intoxicating. But even when it's not intoxicating, there are times where by biomerging it's the only way for you to survive a battle... Unfortunately, there are also... anomalous characters in Digital World that reached this level. Battling with such peoples, me and Yuuki was forced to biomerge for days. Our only way to sustain our form was to eat a lot and rest a lot... we don't have the luxury to break and rest. Here, I'll show you how he looked two years ago when our adventure started."
He took out a photo, showing a Dorumon without kilt, yet still as cocky and a brown haired boy with light sea blue eyes looking at him exasperatedly.
"Mind you, that very little undergone this sort of thing like ours... as long as you stay out of danger, I'm sure you'll be fine. Give Digital World a chance. We're just... well, we're too meddlesome I guess," Hikaru said. "...Anyway, biomerging causes strange reaction on Yuuki, like it tampered his DNA and it gives him benefit along with crippling side effect."
"I used to practice Judo," Yuuki said "but this arm probably not gonna help me at all... well, my muscles and joints on my left arm turned into metal, see?" he made attempt to move it, and apparently it was extremely hurt, especially when there are sound of metal grating against metal. "...And my eyes, I guess you can say this one is the boon. No matter how dark, no matter how bright, I can see you guys clearly."
"...The more he accessed biomerge more than suggested time, the worse his condition would be," Hikaru added. "...This is why, Alexa, you should be very careful. Don't get too into it. Biomerge might be very powerful, but you need to know your limit and remember... memento homo."
"...Well, gloom and doom aside, as for Artemis' question... actually it's 70% me and 30% Hikaru. That biomerged form is mostly me out... you can just think it as me donning Alphamon's armor... but at the same time, I'm a Digimon. Normally, other humans preferred 50:50, but I found out that distribution is a bit too much for me. Because I and Hikaru must be in absolute sync for us to move well at 50:50 biomerge. A single slip in battle is dangerous, so we agreed that our biomerge is 70:30, with Hikaru giving me feedback in my mind, and I can fight better like that."

Artemis had some good questions. Once more, Data felt a bit jealous he hadn't been so keen. He wondered what his tamer was thinking right now.
What his tamer was thinking was more of the same - 'HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT what do I do with a creature that can potentially level a city.' But Data had to be ore than just a weapon. Same with Artemis and Hikaru. They were so much more.
Seeing Yuuki's damaged body brought her back to her fears. Okay, no, she hadn't signed up for any of that. She felt sick. That much power had to require a high sacrifice, it made sense. It's true she didn't really do much with her body, but having it replaced with metal, or worse, - sure, maybe she was being selfish, but it seemed to high a cost. And then - Hikaru died? What if Data died? Even if he was reborn, it still seemed to awful a thing to go through.
"I... I need to sit down," Alexa squeaked. Conveniently, those chairs Hikaru summoned were right nearby. She sat down, trembling, trying to find the right words.
"You okay kid?" Data nudged his tamer again. She seemed shell-shocked. She looked like digimon babies who'd seen their parents murdered. Those were never fun cases, Data thought. He was starting to get his own doubts, too. Up until now, he'd been on his own, his own powerhouse of a detective. Did he really need a human to help him out?
"I don't want that," Alexa finally mumbled. "I don't want to battle or hurt anybody. I'm just a normal kid. Why was I chosen for this?" Alexa asked no one in particular. Her hand closed around her digivice. It suddenly felt more like a burden that an opportunity.

Edgar stared at the wounds for a bit, scars, and wounds only instead of flesh it seemed to be made out of, metal? Edgar gave a quick calming breath, looking down at the ground instead of at Yuuki anymore, while that did make him very fearful of what might happen, Yuuki was still here. He was still standing and talking about this like nothing ever happened, so did that mean he learned to deal with it or was it just going on long enough he was used to this by now, Edgar wasn't the one to say.
To think the changes that happened could be that, drastic. However, Edgar seemed calm about this, almost weirdly so. "General are you alright," Artemis asked worried as Edgar gave another breath. "I'm fine, while this is, a bit worrisome. I can't just turn back now. Gotta take the good with the bad right?" Edgar said giving a small laugh, apparently, he was taking this a lot easier then Alexa, he had hoped that him being this alright about it, might give her some hope in this situation.
"I know this isn't much but, I'm sorry that it turned out like that for you, meddlesome or no I'm sorry to hear it caused a reaction like that for you." Doom and gloom weren't the best things to happen to someone, the eye thing was good but it still didn't seem worth losing the ability to use your arm.
Artemis though instead was worried more about Alexa for now. "You don't have to battle or fight if you don't want to, Honestly I'm not too keen on fighting either but. the choice is up to you and your partner after all. You still choose the path you want to go on, and you'll have plenty of time to think it over. So please don't feel sad." Artemis said trying to cheer her up

"Why indeed, I wonder," Hikaru mused. "...If Digital World truly needs help, it would probably choose military men and whatnots... yet they chose perfectly normal kids... Well, there are few shady peoples chosen too, but I guess if I have to be frank, Digital World have bias to teens and kids... or maybe it thought that kids are easy to control? Too bad that some of these people who aren't given the hard facts like you two would probably parades in Digital World, destroying things left and right and thought 'because Digimon can revive anyway, then we can kill as we like, it's just a game!'. So sorry to give this nonsense to you two."
He evolved back to Alphamon and summoned several tables this time around, along with quite sizeable teacup. "Here, first drink these and calm down. It's chocolate..."
Yes, it's probably a cold cocoa, but on the top of it is something like a chocolava cake... The cake portion covered the drink underneath... and as straw, Hikaru instead provided what looked like a waffer made to look like a straw. It's... a strange cuisine to say. The top is sprinkled lightly with sugar and decorated with small berries.
"...Seriously, you're going to make people confused how to eat this," Yuuki muttered.
"Now now, don't fret. It's just layered drink... drink layered with cake that is."
Instead of Hikaru, Yuuki approached Alexa and crouched to look up at her.
"...It's probably shocking, and I wonder if this is better instead of losing your way mid-career... but you know, this is why I said, you need to choose your own goal. It's a hard journey ahead, but as long as you didn't forget that you're not alone, you'll be fine... I understand that it's hard to make sense when you're here, living normally, and suddenly you got Digimon... and then you have to go to Digital World...
You probably want an adventure, but Digital World gave more than that... Trust me, I... I thought that it was a smooth sailing the first time I gone there. I met new friends, I... overall, had fun. However, my second day there, my train derailed and I had to face a lawyer and his bear. Some idiot angered the lawyer and we had to pay the price while he ran with tail between his leg. It was two adults versus a perfect stage. It was absolutely unfair. My friend's partner killed and Hikaru nearly died also... I thought 'why me, why suddenly this world tossed all this hell to me?'
...yet you know, Digital World helped me grow. Back then, I was a guy who lost my dream. I made someone hurt and they're unable to achieve their dream before graduation... it was my sister, see... I was a gung-ho kid, very fiery and often uses my judo skills to beat up kids that dared to bully my friends. But... soon they called their big brothers and beat me black and blue... my sister came to my rescue, her and her boyfriend. But in that scuffle, she got hurt and she was unable to get first place in her last inter-high school match... Because that, I abandoned judo, no matter how I liked it.
I don't bat eye on injustice, I just keep on walking, and I felt horrible at myself. I felt like I have lost the best part of myself... and Hikaru... Hikaru was too meddlesome. He reminded me of my past self and at first I hated him. It's like I saw my old self in him... he was cocky, brash and very raring to go, to adventure, to save the world. As I journeyed together with him, there are times where I just want to leave... and Hikaru died twice too... 'what for', I kept asking. 'Why am I chosen?', 'Do I have to keep seeing my partner die?'...
But Hikaru, you know... he said..."
"You don't have any reason to be chosen. I'm here, and you're also here, and that's why we're together," Hikaru quipped, grinning shyly. "...Fate tossed so many ordeal at us, but it's exactly because we're together that we can reach new heights. I grow, and so does he... But I guess this is a moot talk considering that we're pretty much retired... Sorry, I guess it's a really heavy talk... I was the gung-ho one to ask him to come to Digital World, and I ended up being the one who begged him to retire..."

Data looked around the room. Everyone was being so supportive. He supposed he should throw his hat in the ring, too. He looked up to his tamer.
"It's not all bad kid, I promise. There's a lot of good out there. A lot of good people and digimon," Data said. Why did he feel so worried about this girl he just met? Ugh, this was really weird. But he couldn't help himself. He wanted to see Alexa smile.
Alexa took a sharp breath. Was she over-reacting to all this? Everyone was being so nice, but now she felt she was a burden to them. Another strike against her being a tamer. Yuuki and Edgar were both her age or younger, and they were so strong. Yuuki had gone through so much, and Edgar was listening to the exact same thing she was, and he seemed to be able to face it, despite his young age and the overwhelming nature of being a general.
"Thank you," she managed to slowly say in response to Artemis. She supposed it was true. Her partner was, what, a police officer? There was fighting involved, but also, from what she understood, a lot of paper work as well. Things weren't black and white. She could use her other skills to help the digital world if she didn't want to fight. If she had other skills, that was. Oh boy.
She smiled at Hikaru as he summoned some cocoa and - what was it - a cake on top? She even let out a giggle. She wasn't quite sure how she'd eat it, but it was a nice gesture anyway. She took a sip to calm her nerves, then looked at Yuuki.
She listened intently to his story. He'd gone through so much, be here he was, here he and Hikaru were, still standing (albeit with a metallic arm).
"I-I don't know what to say. Thank you for telling me this. And I'm so sorry that happened to you," it was the least she could say. It was the most she could say, really, in her state. There was so much to absorb. She shed a tear at Hikaru's words. No matter what else the two had, they seemed to have an incredible bond that was humbling to see.
Data stealthily took a bite from the cake-cocoa. He wasn't really as shaken by Yuuki's story. He'd heard so many stories of digimon and tamers together. And he wasn't afraid of death. He did wonder, though, if Alexa would grow to resent him for the duty he brought into her life.
Okay, enough heavy thoughts, he thought.
"That's a lot to go through. But what's the future for you two, you think," he asked, trying to once more look diginified even with specks of chocolate on his face. Maybe looking to the future would help Alexa feel better.

Edgar felt a little guilty when Hikaru started talking, while he would never go around destroying a world just because the people there could come back at anytime he had to admit the reason he felt like this was because it made him feel special, just a world that he could go to and no one else seemed to know. "It's not nonsense, I'm glad I get to know what I'm getting into, while I'm still a bit scared it's somehow, nice you know. To know you're at least picked over the countless people in the world, but that's probably a bad way of looking at it." Edgar said giving off a soft chuckle, he probably sounded like an idiot there, but hey it's how he felt about this.
Then he went on to make a lot of, chocolate? It looked like a lava cake with a drink under and a wafer just sitting on it, sugar and small berries on it. While he was confused at this Artemis had already flown near his head. "General, Drink it, Eat it all." Artemis said staring at the, drink? "What, I'm not going to." He wasn't able to finish before Artemis started again. "Chug, I mean eat. Just consume it, I don't have a mouth so you have to do it for me!" He telepathically yelled at his General. "I-I like chocolate as much as the next kid but isn't that a little." Artemis just stared at his partner in the eyes, with a sigh of defeat Edgar then picked up the teacup looking at it for a bit, really confused as to how to eat something like this. "C'mon, you got this General, I believe in you."
"Why is this the thing you believe in so much." With another sigh, Edgar then opened his mouth as large as he could before biting the lava cake part, taking it out in two bites before drinking what was under it in a few minutes before finishing it, coughing then putting the teacup down. "I can't believe I let you talk me into doing that," Edgar complained, Artemis simply clapped with his stubby hands. "Yes, you're the best General." Artemis cheered.
While that was happening Edgar was hearing what Yuuki had to say to Alexa, he didn't say anything since it wasn't really directed at him, but all he could think of was what his goal for the digital world would be. Maybe simply to grow, be better then he was now. Maybe after this he'd just ask Artemis what he wanted to do, after all he found Artemis instead of him hatching so maybe he'd have some idea on what to do, Edgar didn't trust himself to think of anything worthwild to do.

"Boy, are you sure you're eleven?" Hikaru asked, chuckling. "You might be even more adultlike than most of us in this hall."
"First of all, that's rude, second of all, I'd rather if he's 11 with mature mind instead of 27 in kid's body," Yuuki commented.
"Who's the rude one now?"
Anyway, with that sorted out Yuuki nodded. "I think so far that's all that you need to know. As I'm retired, I can't bring you to Digital World... and... well, let's say I'm busy taking care of someone. Hope that you would understand... but anyway..." he pulled out the D-Terminal. "This is called D-Terminal. I have no idea if everyone have it, but it's important for us in case we want to exchange informations and whatnot... So, if you got one, you can register me in your friendlist. I'll try to answer any inquiries that you might have in the future. Now... while I'm here, do you have any other question?
I know this is hard for you two... but please think of this responsibly. You need to talk with your partners and decide what you wanted to do in the future. If you need help in going to Digital World, I have friends that I can ask to guard you just in case. One in particular got a personal train, so if you want to understand survival 101, he is your best bet. I'm more to theory guy, and he's practical guy, you see..."
