The coliseum was fully booked out it seemed. The stands were filled with hundreds of cheering digimon, as well as humans visiting from Earth. The air was absolutely electric, the skies above were clear with only a few clouds, and the midday sun was high over them. "Welcome back, sports fans!" a brooklyn accented voice called through the coliseum. Sitting in their commentary booth, Bellamy the Impmon and Luke the Elecmon were close to their microphones, ready to announce the match. "The signup's closed and we're ready to rumble!""That's right, Bells, and our next match is between two rather cool characters!" Luke continued. "God, Luke, don't say that word" Bellamy muttered, facepalming. Luke continued regardless. "From the East Stand, we have Dante Palladino and... says here The Worm King!""And from our West Stand, we have Coolmon the, uh- Coolmon!" Bellamy announced. "When both teams are ready, the match will begin!"
Rules are as follows. 1. Post within a week of it being your turn, otherwise you will concede the match to the other player. 2. No targeting Dante and no cards. 3. Do not kill your opponent, aim to knock them out. 4. No digivolving past Champion, as that is the highest level Coolmon can go. 5. This match is non-canon, so don't worry about where this is in your characters' stories. 6. Please don't attack on your first post. This post is meant for introductions. You may begin the fight on your 2nd post. I have flipped a coin, and it will seem Coolmon has the first post. Ayaka and Coolmon Dante

Coolmon shuffled left and right as introductions were given. The Cutemon had been admittedly kind of nervous about this given she only had one truly damaging move...
...Except she could kind of heal herself. Or empower her Buster Punches...Coolmon glanced around their little arena and towards the Digimon specifically. Oh, shoot, her mom was in the crowd! Or that was probably some other Lekismon. But her mom had red eyes! Oh well.
Coolmon stepped forward, a light enveloping her and the Cutemon grew and evolved to her champion level, a pink and white sprite-like being. Pucchiemon. "Hi there, I'm Coolmon. Nice to meetcha. Hope this fight's fun, alright?"

The crowd waits in anticipation for the 2nd combatant to come out. A single crow circles over the arena high above, then lands down on a perch to watch the battle. Theme music plays throughout the arena. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVZ34FvjcRIDante emerges from the back, pulling a little red wagon. His red hair has grown long, and is swept back with hair gel, but sticking out above his ears. His long leather jacket is completely inappropriate for a sunny day like this. Wormmon rides in the back of the wagon, wearing a crown made out of cardboard with jewels drawn on with crayons. "Greetings! It is I, Wormmon! Your wonderful and most powerful Worm King."
Dante parks the wagon and poses with his arms crossed. "Get your game face on, little buddy. No surrender." "That's right, Dante. No cops, no guns, no knives."
Wormmon forms a cocoon out of silk thread. The cocoon starts to glow and bursts open, revealing Stingmon, the King of Sting. Stingmon charges up his energy cannon and energy spike to make sure they are functioning. The duo turns to their opponent, a Coolmon turned Pucchiemon. "Hiya! It's nothing personal, but I'm gonna bring it! Two scoops of tenacity comin' at cha!"
Stingmon takes a few steps forward, preparing to fight. Dante stands off to the side, out of harm's way. He looks over and sees some of his friends in the crowd. His wannabe pop star sister Judith is drinking coffee, waving around a banner with the Worm King's face on it. Dante doesn't want to let his friends down, but he knows this tournament is double elimination, so even if they lose in the first round, they would have the chance to fight again. "Alright, Stingmon. Stay on guard."

Five Day Warning!
It seems that one player has been inactive for over 5 days now. This is a time warning to let Coolmon know that she has only 2 more days to post her turn, otherwise she will forfeit the match to Dante.

Oh. OH. OH WOW THAT GUY LOOKS LIKE HE CAME OUT OF ONE OF THOSE ANIMES ON BLAST AT TERMINUS. That and a wrestler making his entrance.
"...Wow, that's actually really flashy and gaudy but that doesn't make it any less cool. Uh...Shoot." Somehow, someway, Coolmon really felt out...cool'd.
...
No.
Not out cooled. Out flashed.
"...C'mon, relax. You've got this, girl." She murmured to herself, as a red aura surrounded her. The pep talk she's usually known for in rookie form activated, but more powerful thanks to...well, being a Champion.
Given Stingmon seemed to be on guard...It might be wise to power up before engaging. She had never fought this vespid before...So it was bound to be interesting. "Ready when you are!" Coolmon called out, putting on a pose like...Uh. Goku in that one fight in the Saiyan Saga with Vegetable.
Pep Talk V2: Hey Now, You’re a Rock Star: Coolmon offers some...words of encouragement for her ally, and they in turn are motivated to fight harder for some turns. This is a 20% attack power buff that lasts for two turns and...recharges for two turns.
Coolmon activates this. Two turn duration, yo!
Also, Coolmon DBZ poses.

While Wormy and Dante had made a flashy entrance, it was still up to Stingmon to prove that his steak had flavor and not just sizzle. Dante could see that their opponent was a bit rattled by Stingmon, but Pucchiemon gives herself a self high five by giving herself a pep talk. It doesn't look like Pucchiemon is going to pull any punches, powering up at the start of the fight. Stingmon isn't intimidated, his self confidence off the scale in his Champion form.
Stingmon starts flapping his wings, hovering off the ground. The King of Sting starts gliding in the air side to side, quick to respond to approaching attacks.
"It's nothing personal, but you're about to find out what happens to those who challenge the king. Are you ready for this?"
Stingmon holds his arms out and charges his energy cannon, as light green colored energy spirals around his arm. The egotistical insect launches a pulsing Moon Cannon blast towards Pucchiemon's legs. There is quite a bit of distance between them currently, so it shouldn't be too difficult to avoid a direct hit. Maybe Stingmon is targeting her legs in an attempt to slow her down during the battle.
Dante wasn't familiar with Pucchiemon's tactics, so he didn't know if they favored long range combat, or close range. Stingmon's speed gave him an advantage, but Dante didn't know enough about their competition yet to feel confident. Fortunately Stingmon had more than enough confidence for both of them, but overconfidence could be his downfall.
"Way to come out swinging, Stingmon. Just stick to our tactics and don't give her an opening." ____________________

"I mean, I'm not going to dispute your claims to royalty...But you don't even have a crown or anything backing that up..." Pucchiemon started to muse as Stingmon rose up. He seemed nimble...And she didn't have much in terms of ranged attacks...So she was gonna have to make use of two things. Her jumping ability, and the family special.
The Buster Punch. Stingmon let loose a blast of plasma, something that seemed easy to dodge with the distance between them. So, Coolmon took a running start to the left, away from the blast but still on course towards Stingmon!
Here's where it'd be difficult. Stingmon wasn't even on the ground, so Coolmon needed to put...more effort than usual into this. She jumped at Stingmon and with a cry of "BUSTER!" her fist glowed pink! "KNUCKLE!" And...she tried hitting Stingmon with that jump-punch.
It's very likely that Sting wasn't really in that much danger given his being in the air. And should it miss? Coolmon would likely land on the ground and barely on her feet.
Pep talk has one turn left.
Coolmon used Buster Punch! It's a very, very hard punch!
Coolmon also jumped!

Stingmon's opponent question his claims of royalty. Apparently, his makeshift crown from before wasn't very prestigious. Pucchiemon has enough time to dodge the blast. The Champion level charges towards Stingmon and jumps up, looking to land a punch. Stingmon backs up slightly, but to his surprise the Blaster Punch connects, dealing some damage. Stingmon is knocked off balance, wobbling a bit in the air, but regains coordination.
"Bah! You hit a lot harder than I expected. I'll show you why I'm a king, and an awesome one."
Unfortunately for Wormy, unless he starts collecting taxes and holding dinner parties in a fancy ballroom, he wasn't going to validate his self-proclaimed royalty. After the attack, Pucchiemon lands back on the ground. Stingmon's ego is bruised a bit, but he just channels that frustration into fighting that much harder. The King of Sting descends to the ground, landing on one foot, before launching towards Pucchiemon with his energy spike pointed out. Stingmon attempts to hit his target with a Spiking Strike at close range. Now that the combatants are closer together, Stingmon has a decent chance at landing a hit, but he will also be open to a counter attack.
Dante's friends cheer Stingmon on from the sidelines. Judith hastily stands up, knocking over Shirou's popcorn in the process. "Come on, Stingmon! You're always acting tough, and now's the time to back it up!" Shirou is upset that Judith spilled his popcorn and tries to wrestle her cup of coffee away from her as payback. "Hey, what are you doing? Get your creepy hands off of me, you pale dweeb!" "You're the one who spilled my popcorn, dog faced girl. I must have reparations!"
Dante gets irritated at his friends fighting in the crowd. "Hey, cut it out! You're being distracting." "Your dork friend started it." "Hush up. You're just angry all the time because of your failed career as a musician." "You stop talking about my career, or you'll be dead, brother!" "Dead like your music career."
Dante tries his best to ignore the gang and focus on the fight. ____________________

Coolmon landed on her feet! Wow, that worked!
But maybe that was a fluke...There was no real way of ascertaining that for certain. "Ah! You'll show me why, then? I'd hope so! Better start pulling out the stops, bucko!" Coolmon strikes a pose as Stingmon landed on one foot before launching towards her...
...The fact he was on the ground...
...Coolmon dashed forwards, and while she was hoping to move quick enough to avoid the spike? She failed. How? The spike wasn't supposed to touch her yet it grazed her side, tearing at her fancy fairy costume and exposing a seam of data. Oof. But! She was close now!
"BUSTER KNUCKLE!" How did she forget the name of her own attack? As an aside, the red aura around her dissipated. Regardless, another punch was thrown. It might not land, given Coolmon was sent slightly off balance by the Spiking Strike.
Stingmon's Strike landed! Coolmon now has to go to the drycleaners tomorrow. Rats.
But! She threw a punch!
Pep Talk ends this turn. The cooldown ensues!

Stingmon's Spiking Strike stabs Stingmon's stopponent, err, opponent. It wasn't a direct hit, grazing Pucchiemon's side and causing data to flow out. If the King of Sting were to land a few more of those, the boastful beetle would have victory within his grasp. Pucchiemon responds with a punch. The attack hits Stingmon in the chest, dealing increased damage because of Pucchiemon's Pep Talk. In truth the attack stung him quite a bit, but he puts on his best tough guy act to pretend it did not hurt him much.
"Is that all you got? I expected more of a challenge."
Stingmon takes a couple steps back, creating a bit of distance between them.
"How about another taste of my energy spike?..."
Stingmon raises his arm, his spike glowing bright green with energy. Just when Dante thinks Stingmon is about to strike again, the King of Sting changes tactics. He raises his other arm and extends it out. A small insect carrying a seed flies out of his arm with the energy cannon. The insect flies towards Pucchiemon, looking to lodge the seed inside.
"Psyche! It's time for an Infestation."
Stingmon's tactic even caught Dante off guard. Maybe the Champion level was feeling more fatigued than he was letting on. Either way, if the seed were to reach its target, it would slowly drain Pucchiemon of health, transferring it to Stingmon. That technique could easily be the deciding factor in a long fight, as it would deplete the target while keeping Sitngmon in the fight longer.
Dante's friends stop bickering with each other long each to pay attention to the fight.
"Impressive. Not only did Stingmon go to his regeneration technique at a good time, he made it look like he was going for another melee attack, thus hoping to catch Pucchiemon off guard." "I can't believe Stingmon would try and trick Pucchiemon like that. That's fighting dirty where I come from." "It's not dirty at all. Still, look at how far Stingmon has come since he first reached Champion level. I never would have pegged him as the type to employ a strategy beyond charging in guns-a-blazin'."
Dante overhears Shirou and agrees. It wasn't like Wormy to deceive his opponent during a battle. Maybe his partner wasn't just an arrogant bug brain. ___________________________
Infestation: Launches a seed into target. Seed drains target's health every post and transfers it to user. Lasts 5 posts. Cooldown 3 posts. Rookie and lower, 100% regular damage. Champion, 50% regular. Ultimate and higher, 25% regular damage.

As Coolmon started to -really- get into the fight, her mind started to list off possibilities. Bit by bit. Little by little. No matter what, he was going to try the spike or ranged attack, so it was wise to use her barrier move.
Challenge? Well, she didn't quite have a response. And she still had to plan...
So. With the distance between them, and something about a spike...Charging her was a bad idea, so with that in mind...
"Faerie Barrier!"
A barrier would surround the front of Coolmon to deflect any attacks, and there -was- an attack.
Apparently Stingmon went for the ol' switcheroo. Will whatever that thing is beat the barrier? Not today. As if fate flipped a coin...The insect went thud against the barrier.
And the barrier -cracked.-
...
.......
"...Nice feint, but that's also a bit of a dirty move..."
...Shoot, she was gonna have to get creative with evasion now. She wasted her barrier on something that she ultimately dismissed as harmless even though it was far from it.
The barrier dropped. If Stingmon wanted to get a kick in, now was his chance!
Faerie Barrier: Coolmon’s best move in this form is to form a barrier in front of her and two allies. This barrier is like a wall. A wall to bounce attacks back with. Unfortunately this only works for certain with Rookies. With Champion levels, it’s a 50/50 chance. With Ultimate? The shield can tank a single hit before breaking. Above? You’re screwed. 3 post cooldown. The barrier itself lasts for as long as Coolmon can hold it up, which is a post.
Coolmon used that.
Google was used to flip a coin, heads was it holds and tails it gets rekt. Google chose heads.
Otherwise, Coolmon does literally nothing else.
...God I feel awkward.

Just when it seemed like Stingmon had taken advantage, Coolmon resorts to her best technique, the Faerie Barrier. As Stingmon's infestation technique heads towards the Pucchiemon, she creates a barrier to block the attack. The tiny insect goes splat on the barrier like a bug on a windshield, rendering Stingmon's move ineffective.
"Drat. And here I was using strategy for a change. I'll just have to get down to business, hardcore style. But first..."
Stingmon brings his arms down to his sides. He starts to build up energy, as the little Wormmon on a hamster wheel in his head his internal energy generators start reaching maximum power. Stingmon channels his energy into his armor shell, turning his armor jet black and crimson. After he exhales, the King of Sting speaks the name of this technique in a noticeably grim tone.
"Nightmare armor..."
Dante is disappointed to see Stingmon's regeneration technique has failed. There were a few times as a Wormmon where Wormy's seed could not reach its target because of distance, but he couldn't recall a time off the top of his head where this move failed at the Champion level. Which was fortunate for their opponent. However, now Stingmon has activated his Nightmare armor, which made the already resilient Champion that much tougher. The fact that Coolmon had countered one of Stingmon's key moves meant that this battle was far from over, or at least victory was further from their grasp.
"Don't sweat it, Stingmon. You can win this fight without regenerating health. Just stick to our strategy and we will walk out victorious." "Ya, because our strategy is working out so well for us right now! You've got the easy job. I'll settle this myself."
Now Stingmon was really starting to show his fangs, metaphorically speaking. The more Stingmon battled, the more determined and rebellious he became. And now with his Nightmare armor activated, Havokmon was more aggressive than ever.
The ticked off insect starts to dash around, gliding just over the ground. It appears like he's goading Coolmon into an attack, but would Stingmon be too quick? Stingmon lets out a sinister cackle.
"Wu hu ha ha ha haha ha! Come out to play, Poochie!" ___________________
Nightmare Armor: Can only be used on self. Havokmon channels dark energy into their armor. Reduces incoming damage by 25% for 6 posts. 3 post cooldown.

Coolmon kept her guard up. It was the only logical thing to do here, especially since Stingmon spoke of getting DOWN TO BUSINESS. Alright, the fight was starting to pick up! She glanced at the bug as he activated his (while admittedly a bit over the top) rather...potent armor ability.
...Wow.
That's actually kinda cool.
"...Nice name. I think it's pretty cool. Good job!" Despite the (possibly) insults being leveled at her, Coolmon was as chipper as ever. "And it's Pucchiemon with a U. C'mon, buddy!"
Coolmon would brace herself, Stingmon's movement actually starting to worry her...How was she going to respond if she wound up being attacked?
...Why...
She'd put her hands up to her antennae, and didn't just grab them. She CLENCHED at them, and with a deep breath, emitted the single most ear-piercing screech one could bear to hear!
This wasn't meant to damage anyone. Sure, it has the potential to, but it won't. It's mainly meant to leave ears ringing. Disorientation. Will it work? Nobody's sure.
The cooldown for Pep Talk ends this turn!
Coolmon used...
Hypersonic Wave: Coolmon retains her screaming ability from Rookie form. But, it has a twist to it! Coolmon’s screech can now disorient rookies for three, champion levels for two turns, and those above for one! There’s a two post cooldown for this. Disorient here means leaving the ears ringing. Which isn't very conducive in a fight. Allies are mysteriously unaffected if they so wish.
Faerie Barrier's cooldown has two posts left.

Stingmon had activated his Nightmare Armor, entering a form he only used when the battle had really heated up. However, Coolmon was living up to their name, remaining cool under pressure. Most combatants would be a little on edge in a fight. Coolmon uses Hypersonic Wave, an ear piercing technique designed to disorient the target. Dante quickly covers his ears.
The screech reaches Stingmon, the unpleasant sound piercing his antennas. While most Digimon would only be slightly disoriented, it prevented him from relying on sound to detect movement. The King of Sting clutches his head, disturbed by the screech.
"Argh it's so annoying! Make it stop!"
Wormy always was a little dramatic. At this point, Dante starts to worry about Stingmon. It appears that the Hypersonic Wave matches up well against Stingmon. While still covering his ears, Dante cries out to Stingmon, hoping he can still hear him.
"Stingmon! You've got to focus! No surrender!"
"What's that? Two for what? I will never surrender!"
It's clear that Stingmon couldn't quite make out everything Dante had said, but it had the intended effect.
"You think that's loud and obnoxious?! You clearly haven't met me before. I'm the King of obnoxiousness!"
Stingmon tries drowning out the screech with braggadocios comments, unaware that he was basically insulting himself. While still flying in the air, he charges up his energy cannon. Only this time, instead of firing a Moon Cannon, out pops a lime green ball of plasma energy. Stingmon continues hovering from side to side, but then quickly lowers down and takes aim. He grasps the ball in his hand and with all his might throws it at Coolmon.
"TAKE THIS! PLASMA BALL! TASTE THE HEAT!"
The ball heads towards where Coolmon is, and upon contact explodes. Unless Coolmon is able to dodge the attack, it would surely deal high damage. As smoke is still rising from the explosion, the Hypersonic Wave becomes to much for the King of Sting to bare. He slowly floats to the ground and kneels over, grabbing his head. Wormy is acting like he is too disoriented to defend himself. If Coolmon can respond, they would likely have a clear shot at Stingmon to dish out some serious damage. Had Stingmon finally met his match, hindered by his own super hearing? Or was the Plasma Ball enough to seal Coolmon's fate? Luckily for the crowd, the screech didn't seem to be disorienting them in the same way. ___________________
Plasma Ball: Stingmon channels energy into his cannon, and creates a dense ball of plasma energy. Stingmon throws the ball, and upon contact it unleashes a contained explosion, dealing severe damage to anything it hits. 4 post cooldown.
Cooldowns: Infestation (2/3)
Nightmare Armor (Duration + 0/3) Plasma Ball (0/4)
Combat Passive: Supersonic Antenna: Stingmon is able to detect movement with his antennas. Gives an enhanced sense of awareness, allowing Stingmon to respond faster in combat. (Inactive due to Hypersonic Wave.)
Condition: Disoriented (1/2)

Oh, wow. That...actually did something. It taught Coolmon mostly a big lesson on how bugs work. Specifically Stingmon. Something to take note of for later, honestly. Of course, Stingmon's response to her wave was to screech incoherent insults, some that...targeted himself.
"Ah, I see you too know the ancient art of self-deprecation. Sad. And no, I literally have not met you before now, so you're already loud and obnoxious! Well, if you are the reigning monarch of that, then I'm the reigning monarch of FIST!"
Coolmon just completely rearranged her plan of action as she ran towards Stingmon, ready to Buster Punch him!
...She unfortunately didn't see the Plasma Ball coming too fast. And it did do what it was supposed to, it hit something and it exploded.
However. It did not hit Coolmon directly. It in fact exploded behind her and...had sent her flying FORWARD somehow, and despite the fact her person was charred black now, she seemed like she had a little bit of fight left in her, as she extended her fist while she flew!
"BUSTER PUNCH!" ...That could've came out a lot stronger. However, her entire plan hinged on this ONE blow!
...What would happen?
Coolmon gets (sort of) hit by Plasma Ball! Treating it as a direct hit because of how it's worded.
She's sent flying at Stingmon, and uses the momentum to let a Buster Punch loose!
Also, she's a toasty gal now.
