Persistent...
By all logic, the Samudramon should have either fallen on the spot, or did whatever he could to try and increase his distance from the monster. But sheer electrical interference often through such common sense out the window, and now Isaac found himself careening straight towards the Optimizer's core. The approach quickly drew the attention of the beast, finding that mega slip right underneath its cloak, slamming its shoulder and sharpened armor directly against its cord.
Damn it, that hurt! The Optimizer roared out in pain, not just from that, but the wash of fire that struck from his side. Red flames began to immolate blue against both the cord and the cloak, the agent struggling to hold on. It was an expensive agent of the D-Reaper, and for it to be of value, it needed to either maintain itself...
... Or, at the very least, eliminate one of the three problematic threats in front of it. While it still had shape, before its cord would be torn asunder, the Optimizer's body began to spark, charging another electric blast. No, this wasn't just at the arm, but rather one that pulsed through its entire body, quickly generating a devastating current.
At point blank range, the Optimizer's body gave a spark: at once, that entire charged amount of electricity would discharge with a crack, all following the path of least resistance to Isaac's armor! For the several seconds this current maintained, even as the Optimizer's body started to turn into a red texture...
Faluo, in his stride, had managed to catch Agent-Wolf's tail by more-or-less sacrificing his left arm! The agent seemed to even give a surprised growl, as this injured bird let out another strike, aiming to slash right towards his side with an impressive bolt of energy.
The agent didn't have room to dodge: tail stuck as it was, blazing inside of Faluo's arm, all he could do was redouble his efforts. Planting its feet, Agent-Wolf tried to force the blade straight on through, a harsh cutting wind replacing that blazing fire. In the next moment, that same cutting energy that first caught him in midair would burst out - attempting to both take the arm outright, as well as trap him once more in that maelstrom!
As it launched, that blade would sink right into the Agent's shoulder, dark energy coursing through its frame - was this just a matter of endurance?
Log:
Optimizer has taken a fatal wound from Crimson Flame! In its death throes, it uses 'Mjolnir' in an effort to immolate Isaac with electricity.
Agent Wolf is struck by Faluo's attack. At its current angle, it uses its 'crescent wind' attack, attempting to skewer through the arm, and proceed straight through the rest of Faluo's frame!

When Isaac saw the sparks starting to arch across the Optimizer's body, he knew he was out of tricks. His jump pack was still locked in a permanent collision course with the Optimizer's cord, his limbs were only now regaining the strength to move, and even if he were still fully capable of evasive maneuvers he was way too close to the Optimizer to comfortably dodge. No matter what, he was going to be taking a hit that could be charitably described as awful. He started to let his eyes close, preparing to brace for impact and try to minimize as much damage as possible.
As his eyes almost squeezed shut, he noticed the Optimizer's purple hue starting to turn red and pixelated. Maybe this wasn't a lost cause after all! He looked over his shoulder to the battlefield raging below, where Faluo and Agent Wolf were still locked in absolutely brutal combat. They were a maelstrom of blades, wind, and lightning, the two directly locked together in a contest of wills and endurance. For one who seemed to be running on borrowed time, Faluo was actually doing an incredible job. However, Isaac knew that the Karatenmon's time may have been running out, just as his was?
Why not help even the odds?
Isaac willed himself to turn around, the wiring and code beneath his armor finally loosening up from its seize. He held his sword aloft to the sky, the aura of atmospheric flame surrounding it intensifying to a bright green plume. He held out one hand to judge aim, like an Olympic javelin thrower, before rearing back and flinging the blade with all of his might. It hurtled forward, a bright green flare cutting through the darkness, as Isaac called out "Keep him steady!" Faluo had the advantages of wings and opposable thumbs. In a contest of leverage, the bird should easily be able to triumph over Agent Wolf.
His back freshly turned to the attack, and both of his parrying blades lost, Isaac squeezed his eyes shut and prepared for peace.
The voltage seemed to make way for every part of its body. It passed through the gleaming blades on his extremities, into his armor, and from there shuddered down into his scaly flesh. He tried to call out in pain, but his throat was too busy convulsing for him to even let out more than a strangled gasp. His bright silver hair singed a dark black color, and his eyes were locked into a wide-eyed, agonized stare. He tried to move out of the attack's path, but he couldn't. His jump pack and even gravity itself were currently failing him in equal amount, leaving him in mid air to continue to be overwhelmed by the attack. He saw data drifting off of him, bare wireframe beneath as the pixels turned from a soft white to a stark red.
The fused spirit of Chaos drifted off of him, then shattered back into its component totems. Even if a miracle were to happen, Samudramon wouldn't be coming back off the shelf until the fight had long finished.
Where his own will had failed him, his body had intervened. A small, dark cocoon surrounded the ailing dragon, compressing him down from his large, knightly form to a small Impmon. He plummeted down to earth, his levitation abilities barely helping ease him down before he ended up landing messily. Slowly Isaac rose to his feet, a dazed look in his eyes as he clutched his arm for support. "Wizardmon, you got anything in that bag of tricks?" he asked, panting from the exhaustion and slurring from the pain. " 'Cause boy do I feel like crap right now."
Isaac finishes charging the Terra Blade, flinging it furiously at Agent Wolf to help even the odds for Faluo. Terra Blade: Samudramon raises his swords skywards, empowering them with atmospheric energy before slamming them into an enemy. Duration: One Post (Charge). Cooldown: Two Posts. Afterwards, Isaac takes the direct brunt of the Optimzer's attack. He is knocked clean out of his Samudramon form, and regresses to Impmon so he can keep as stable as possible.

Bibi stared towards the monstrous behemoth that was the Optimizer as it fell. There was a glint of pure rage in her eyes, as if she still wasn't done. Once it was gone, she turned her attention towards the Wolf and Faluo's stand-off. She landed near the battle to let Timothy and Wizardmon off, then flew full speed towards the fight, she couldn't just ignite herself without harming Faluo either, so she had to hold off and use her head.
Timothy slid off Bibi's wing, "Tha-" He was then blown off his feet as Bibi took off towards Faluo at a very fast speed. It was clear that she wanted to absolutely wreck the wolf now that she removed the two riders from her back. This was kinda scary, well... Besides the fact that Faluo was dying, them fighting D-Reaper, and them standing in fire at one point.
Faluo had to push, he had to break his already broken limits. He had to put his literal life into finishing this monster off. His arm was slowly being torn in two and his own strength was slowly dwindling. He wasn't gonna let his life end without taking his foe with him!
Almost as if on cue, two swords came down upon the wolf, seeing as they were both pinned in this spot, so they can't exactly dodge. When they would hopefully collide, Faluo gave a smirk, "Celestial Blade!" He pulled the blade out and stabbed it back in again to the right of the two blades that came to him and the wolf. He worked it back into the wolf and pushed all three forward with his arm.
He looked up to Bibi, now seeing her new form in the sky. As he pushed with all his might, he shouted, "Take us out! Finish us!"
What? Finish them? Why did he say them? He's dying but she couldn't kill Faluo. She had a better idea than his crazy idea. She flew down right next to the wolf and let out a loud caw. "Crimson Flame!" She unleashed a column of fire point blank into the wolf. It wasn't exactly as original of an idea, but it most certainly beat hitting Faluo as well.
Faluo:
Uses Celestial Blade from within the Wolf again, trying to close that damage gap as the pain keeps coming onto him.
Bibi:
Flies down and fires a Crimson Flame point blank into the wolf to avoid damaging Faluo as well.

In retrospect, perhaps it wasn't the best idea to leave Isaac to fend for himself - or either of the two that were let off from Bibi's back. Bibi left Timothy with Wizardmon, just a few feet from the heavily wounded Impmon. With a 'tch', the Wizardmon simply gave a nod to Isaac's question. Chastising the bird could come later. Flipping through his book, the sorcerer started to prepare a spell: "It won't be a full heal like before, but - back!"
Damn it! Left on the D-Reaper's own surface, it was unsurprising that these weaker entities were challenged. Once more, the surface of the field began to bubble, just a few yards ahead of them, a more expendable 'Bubbles' emerging to face the three. Its cannons were aimed, one at the Impmon and one towards Timothy, forcing the sorcerer to raise his staff: "Barrier of Denial!" Straight in the direction of that gunner, the air would give a soft sheen - and any bullets that were fired in that area were simply 'caught', suspended in midair as if caught in an unseen fly-trap.
That Bubbles, however, was just a cover: whether the sound had their attention or not, the mass would also start to bubble behind the Impmon and the tamer, the familiar Pendulum Feet (X) raising slowly from the surface. At once, the cloak would open, the cloaked monster heading right towards the tamer, in an effort to snare him in its grip of heavy wire and cable!
Agent Wolf, in the meanwhile, started to know what it felt like to be a pincushion against the opposing mega. The Samudramon's own blade tore forth, the agent growling as that searing projectile tore its way forth. His tail was fully occupied with the Ravemon, but that didn't mean all his tricks were stopped: a tense blue aura surrounded his claw, and with a strong swipe, the samurai's blade would bounce upward, awkwardly spinning out over the battlefield until it vanished with the samurai's form.
That was one - but the second stab into the agent's ribs earned a sharp cry of pain, as that wind-enhanced blade tore further into the Ravemon's frame. With that, the two 'swordsman' were connected, and as Bibi came in forth to try and wash the wolf in flames...
... Well. Faluo might get his original intent. Its data in phase, unable to move, the beast simply gave a harsh step forward - blade still lodged inside Faluio's arm - simply trying to drag him in the fire as well. No way was this bird getting away!
Log:
With Isaac, Timothy, and Wizardmon isolated, the D-Reaper creates a Bubbles and a Pendulum Feet to capitalize. The Bubbles fire is drawing the Wizardmon's defenses; a Pendulum Feet is approaching Timothy.
Agent-Wolf uses Kaiser Nail to deflect Samudramon's blade. Celestial Blade hits home, and Wolf is critically damaged. As the crimson flame poured in, the agent simply tried to pull the Ravemon into the fire with himself!

Isaac let out a sigh of relief as he was kept close to Wizardmon's barrier, but he didn't have much time to rest. The sound of a being arising from the D-Reaper goo was quite clear behind him, and Isaac's eyes widened in horror as he realized what he was looking at. It was another Pendulum Feet, and its empty eyed head was staring right at Maia.
No. No, it was Timothy. Or maybe it was Elliot. Or maybe it was himself. With each panicked blink, Isaac saw somebody different standing there in the Reaper's line of sight. Nevertheless, it didn't matter who it was. The result was the same. The Reaper was fully prepared to snatch them up, drag them to its lair, and do god knows what to them.
Last time the decision was easy. The love of Isaac's life was about to be snatched up. He was fresh and ready to fight, and had no idea how strong the rather small looking Pendulum Feet was by comparison. He had at least three others watching his back, and if push came to shove he was confident that they would have come to his aid. If Isaac was in that same situation now, he would've acted without even thinking. But now?
Well, now the decision was even easier.
Isaac's legs felt like lead, but nevertheless he pushed himself to run faster than he had thought possible. It was the only way that he could make it to the Pendulum Feet in time, before something terrible happened to Timothy. He pointed at the Pendulum Feet, moving his mouth to speak but finding himself unable to say anything. Part of him wanted to curse, or scream, or make some kind of joke to try and help himself cope, but instead he'd have to cope with silence. The world around him seemed to move in slow motion, and the air settled around him like molasses, but he couldn't let himself fail now.
However, Isaac wasn't going to make the same mistake twice in a row. This time, rather than push Timothy out of the way, he went for a more precious target. He dove right for the Reaper's cable, hands frantically grasping. It was close, but his fingertips brushed right past it. His plan was ruined.
Or, rather, exactly as successful as Isaac had wanted. Once he was in close-but-no-cigar range of the Pendulum Feet's cord, he snapped his fingers. His Explosive Teleport had burst out, and would hopefully fray the cord pretty badly from the sheer heat and pressure of the explosion.
Once it was executed, he dizzily appeared a small ways above the cord. Immediately he was a flurry of grasping hands, trying to grip onto the cord by whatever means possible. If he couldn't break the cord in one go, he'd weigh it down and make it a major pain for the Pendulum Feet to get back to home base. "I'm not letting you go anywhere!" he shouted. Whether it was at the Pendulum Feet or at Timothy was unclear. "You stay with me, damnit!"
Isaac charges after the Pendulum Feet, using his Explosive Teleport right by its cord to fray it, then landing to try and keep the Pendulum Feet from escaping.

Welp, looks like Faluo and the Wolf had two things in common, they both were dying and they both wanted to take the other with them. And they both were about to get their dying wish. Faluo pushed back, he pushed himself towards the fire, so really helping the Wolf get the same goal. In his dying sight, he looked out towards Timothy in danger because Bibi wanted to help. Foolish sis- wait, no... Wonderful sister. She had gone out of her way to help him and he was about to act like that...
He could feel the searing heat from the fire now as it overtook him and the wolf. Though he had one last thing to send towards Timothy. "Feathery Barrage!" He pulled himself up for but a moment, and shot out a swarm of explosive feathers mixed into a lot of very sharp ones, all towards the Pendulum Feet that had attacked them.
After that... Everything got black. He felt numb all over and looked around into the nothingness. It was so empty and yet... Not in a bad way. He felt pleased.
Bibi stared as Faluo literally dragged himself into the flames with the Wolf... She couldn't stop staring, as much as she wanted to stop. Only did her gaze get broken when Faluo pulled himself up for one last attack before succumbing to the flames. She turned to see Timothy now in danger. No more, no more deaths today!
She stared at the bubbles and flew towards them. "Fire Hurricane!" She unleashed another fire hurricane, this time much stronger than her ultimate level ones. It made it's way towards the bubbles to pass through them, while she simultaneously went to pull them up with her much more powerful talons and wing strength now. They were gonna get revealed quick so she could just get to the main target as fast as possible.
Timothy raised his arms in defense of the bubbles only to be protected by Wizardmon. Then the Pendulum Feet went down to strike at him for him to only be protected by Isaac now. He had to move quick because he didn't know if the Pendulum Feet was actually gonna get stopped by Isaac's attack. No time to speak, just run and don't get killed by all the big things!
He moved close to Wizardmon as the champion would be able to offer some defense here, rather than being out in the open. His heart sank though right as he got there... Something felt surprisingly empty now, like something terrible just happened. He looked around and saw Bibi rushing the Bubbles, then to Faluo doi- where's Faluo? He was just here a moment ago battling the Wolf in a brutal engagement. What about the Wolf? All he saw was Bibi's flames and some data risi- oh...
Everything seemingly stopped at that moment, he could barely function anymore. Faluo had well... Faluo was dead. Nothing more to it. He tried to grasp at the data floating away multiple times. He of course couldn't reach for anything. This was also a really bad time for him to be doing this, but he didn't realize that anymore... He couldn't stop staring at the digified remains of his friend floating away for him to never see again... This just didn't feel right at all...
Faluo unleashes a final feather barrage towards the Pendulum Feet attacking Timothy before succumbing to the flames with the Wolf and finally dying.
Bibi uses a fire hurricane and goes to pull the bubbles out like before.
Timothy retreats until he notices Faluo, then kinda just stares.

In the bright thickness of the flame, it was hard to make anything out. Agent-Wolf had managed to drag Faluo into the flames - and to its own end, it had no other intent but to kill and load this nuisance to the D-Reaper, to heal its own wounds and go after the rest of the gnats.
That was its thought - but in the power of these flames, it mattered little. Wolf had managed to drag the Ravemon into the maelstrom, a death sentence to the mega - but the beast could not hold up under the pressure. In this hellscape of fire, perhaps Faluo would hear one last word:
T... thank you...
Unable to even see the source, both vanished, an impressive cloud of data escaping from the flames.
Yes! There we go!
Thankfully, Wizardmon wasn't left to defend against the Bubbles for long - a torrent of flame spurred itself out, causing the Bubbles to stop firing, massive welts built up over his frame. Before it could regenerate its arms to fire, the mega already moved to tear out the cable. With Timothy running to the Wizardmon for defense, that left the Pendulum Feet at a crossroads.
Of course, its programming still told it to target Timothy. At its new location, the monster rushed forth - only to feel himself stopped short by something! First feeling a 'pop', then a 'snag', the scythed monster looked over his shoulder to see that annoying Impmon trying to stall him.
Fine, then: the Impmon it was! But before it could even turn, the Wizardmon did something unbecoming of himself:
He attacked. Not with anything special, but with a fierce swing of his staff, he managed to catch the top of the cable, splitting the agent from its source of healing. The monster sputtered, before tumbling back down into the red mass below.
From there, the Wizardmon took a breath, and drew a card from his waist. "Pay attention. Look around for a moment." Unrelated, the card he held dissolved in his hand, a heavy healing aura surrounding the four of them.
"Look. There's not a single agent in sight from here to the core." That was true - not a single Pendulum Feet in the sky, nor Paratice Head looming over the horizon. After the death of Agent Wolf and Optimizer, well: "The nest's power has to be finite. Unlike the Dreamscape, this D-Reaper has limits. So hold it together for just a bit longer."
He gave a nod to the three of them:
"Prepare the strongest blast you can - one that will be able to pierce through the Core's shield. If we can strike at range before the core has a chance to prepare its defenses? Well - we might end this nightmare outright."

Isaac's eyes widened in horror as he saw the data mixing into the air, Reaper and Digimon alike. Agent Wolf had fallen, but at what cost? He slumped to his knees, pounding the brimstone-like ground with a weary fist. "God, I . . . I'm so sorry," he said, voice quivering a little. He knew how close the bond between family was. The idea of that being cut short by something as final as death . . . "I should've been stronger. I should've been able to stop this."
He could only think of the What Ifs. What if he hadn't misjudged the range on that lightning bolt? He could have sawed through the Optimizer with ease, and then maybe come back in time to break up Agent Wolf's attack. Or maybe if he had struck true with that final toss of the Terra Blade, which surely would have spelled Agent Wolf's end. Hell, if he could have just held onto his form, maybe he would've been able to do more than weakly charge at an Agent several times stronger than him.
Sure, each of those could have backfired as well. But in this frame of mind, Isaac was fairly sure any decision would have been better than the one he had made.
For a second an idea came to mind, Isaac eyeing the former Falcomon's data with desperate worry in his eyes. All he needed to do was absorb Faluo's data, right? Spirit Users were supposed to be masters of harnessing code. If he could just hold onto Faluo, without losing control and loading him, then clearly he would be able to lend some of his strength. He could bring Faluo back as an egg right there, or maybe even help him take conscious form again. It was right there at his fingertips, and he just needed to take the plunge . . .
No. There was way too much that could go wrong there. Isaac shook his head, turning apologetically towards Timothy. "He hasn't been loaded," was all Isaac could bring himself to say, trying to hold onto a fragile hope in his voice. "That means there's hope. We're a long way from the Village, but . . ."
Maybe that was why when Wizardmon healed him, Isaac didn't even need to be told twice. He exploded into a plume of smoke, the thrashing wings and gnashing jaws of MetalGreymon quickly making themselves visible in his hastiest Digivolution yet. Time was numbered, both on his Demon Pill and on their time before more D-Reaper agents arrived, and Isaac didn't want to take any chances with either.
Any smoke left around him immediately dissipated as Isaac fired a red-hot beam of energy from his mouth. He aimed it right towards the core, planting his metallic claw in the ground to stabilize himself and ensure his aim was steady. As tempting as it was to spread out the range of his damage, all Isaac wanted to do was ensure he could punch through the Reaper's central sphere with all of the cold precision and efficiency that MetalGreymon brought to the table.
It was time to end a grudge that, in Isaac's eyes, had lasted years.
Isaac shoots up to Ultimate, wasting no time before unleashing the full force of MetalGreymon's Prominence Beam. Prominence Beam: MetalGreymon leans forward, spewing a red-hot laser at the opponent. MetalGreymon's already tepid pace is halved while using this move, making it a poor choice for firing on the run, but he can maintain the attack for a surprisingly long while.

It was seriously done. Faluo was actually gone. He couldn't believe it, this was it... In Timothy's eyes, death was still a permanent thing. It had been almost two years since he first met Bibi and Faluo, since that first day of their eggs hatching. Since then, he had felt invincible, like nothing could ever break the trio if they just tried hard enough.
Well, something broke the trio, well sure it was one of the most dangerous things possible, it still succeeded where so much failed, all because of a single strike to Faluo's chest. There were sounds around him, but they just seemed numb to his ears. Nothing seemed to register, it was something about finishing it... Wait, it wasn't dead? The monster that slayed Faluo was not dead!? OH NO, THAT WILL NOT DO!
He looked up at the core with an expression so angry, he could feel his body trembling at itself. Was that enough? No, it wasn't he didn't have the power to nuke the Core, but a certain, equally as angry bird did...
Bibi was literally in complete touch with Timothy's emotions at the moment, quite literally feeling the exact same feelings. She looked towards the core and with the fury of her burning hatred, had flown up, higher and higher, until she could hit the core and unleashed a Star-light explosion. She began to flap her wings, summoning a storm golden grains of light upon her target. Each one was aimed towards the bubble that was the core, individually, they weren't that strong, but they were meant to hit a group, this time it was just one large target at a long distance away. She wouldn't stop until she had exhausted every single golden streak of light she had at the thing. After that, she would come down to Timothy's side and stare towards their work.
Bibi flies overhead, then fires a Star-light Explosion towards the core, maintaining it for a while, then flying back down to the party.

"So long as his data's free, there's a chance - we can't afford to lose focus now." More than anyone else, Wizardmon's comment leveled heavily on Isaac - though they were isolated for now, he had let his emotions get the better of him, and threw his eyesight away from the battle for several seconds. He could have very easily been picked off in that span - and honestly, he was lucky that this nest was running out of steam.
He doubted their ability to take on another one, like Agent-Wolf. But with their opportunity given, and beyond the range of the Core's automatic defenses, both Bibi and Isaac prepared one last assault. From the dragon came a powerful laser, a continuous stream of energy meant to burrow through the core. From the Phoenix came a powerful rain of fire, built upon the rage felt in both Timothy and Bibi's heart.
From a distance, the Core responded, the green ring around it clicking open, shifting the panels to create a solitary barrier in the direction of their attacks. However - with the D-Reaper's forces weakened elsewhere, there was little power left for it to manipulate. Metaphorically, this meant that the entity would go out with a whimper - but for Isaac and Bibi, there was no bigger bang. The shild quickly crumbled, those super-heated attacks quickly causing that translucent core to bubble and warp. Eventually, their efforts culminated in a massive, lustrous explosion, one that the wizard rose his cloak upwards to shield his eyes. Distant cries echoed out, the very field the group was standing on starting to ebb away, fading back into the peat moss of the Dark Area.
In that lustrous ball of fire and light, it ended. All that remained was a strange piece of shaped rock, singed nearly beyond recognition, that fell out of the Core's center.
The silence was deafening - was that it?
"... Tch. I was hoping there would be a face to this." The Wizardmon shook his head. "It's over - but if the nest was this automated, then I fear the war's far from done."

Isaac didn't even process that the Core had fallen at first. Instead he just kept his head turned to the sky, a roar of hatred of agony following in the wake of his Prominence Beam. Both his shout and his attack pierced the sky, both dissolving as they seared against the clouds. Isaac's energy reserves were starting to run dangerously low, and he soon was forced to brace himself against his razor-sharp arm so that he could recover. His chest made mechanical whirring sounds as it rose and fell, and his wings slumped limply against his back. His eyes, half-lidded from fatigue, now smoldered with a dying fury.
The Reaper had been slain, and yet it all felt so hollow.
"There has to be more," Isaac snarled. "I've been in its head. It had its eyes all over the Digital World. It's had more data backed up in its core than any of us could even hope to understand. It talked about eating worlds. No, no, there's no way this thing is done with us yet. It couldn't be so . . ."
Easy? No. Easy wasn't the right word at all. The pain, the strife, the gut-wrenching sacrifice that it took to get here . . . none of that was easy. Whether for someone who had been crushed by the consequences of the Reaper's assault for nearly a year, or for someone who had lost a dear friend, none of this even came close to easy. Maybe that was why Isaac couldn't believe that this was over. He had won the battle, yet instead of closure could only feel a hollow dread afterwards.
He paused, then turned to Wizardmon. "When it comes back, I'll be there," he said. "But . . . hell, we earned our time to grieve." He pried himself up from his resting stance, gritting his teeth to push through the urge to de-Digivolve. The last thing that he wanted was to be caught vulnerable if this fight was less finished than he had thought.

Well... It was over. The core was destroyed and with that, the monstrosity that was the D-Reaper was as well. At least for now. It seemed that this wasn't the end according to Wizardmon. For now though, Timothy was fine with this as a stopping point until later. He fell to his knees and just let it out. In his eyes, he still failed to do his part as a tamer and help keep both Bibi and Faluo well. He had felt invincible with the seemingly nothing being able to stop them. It sucked having to be reminding about mortality.
Bibi came down for a landing and was very quick to devolving to her rookie state. Fluttered her wings to slow her final descent just before hitting the ground and approached Timothy. She wrapped a wing around his back and said, "Faluo'll be fine now... We just gotta find his new egg... He won't be the same anymore though... He'll be... Different, maybe better, maybe worse." Why was she trying to help Timothy!? She was just as hurt as him, her twin brother just died to a monstrosity because they felt brave!
It did help Timothy some. Not much, but enough for him to cling to something. He nodded to Bibi and pulled himself up, getting a bit of the conversation. "We'll... Be there also. I want payback for what they... It did."
Bibi nodded, continuously rubbing Timothy's leg, trying to help him hold it together. "We'll find Faluo, bring him back and come back even more powerful."

Hollow was definitely a good word for it - that was it? Everything that had happened - the entire threat up to now - and that was all it took in the end?
"From the nests I've handled in the spaces in the Sea of Blood, one mega and a handful of champions are able to clear these sorts of nests... but that was in the dream-scape. Its clear we don't understand all the rules here." Damn it - the Wizardmon spent near his entire professional career studying the Dark Area, and now he was both strapped for answers and pushed to his very limit. Not only did his own crew pay the price, but even that innocent Ravemon...
"Like it or not," the wizard sighed, "There's little else we can do here." At the very least, the Wizardmon wasn't going to leave them out to dry: holding up his staff, a portal opened before the group, the calm expanse of the Network Plains visible before them.
"I'm sorry it had to be this way. Timothy, I'll do everything in my power to make sure that something like this never comes to pass again. And Isaac?"
The Wizardmon turned his head towards the dragon.
"... Thank you."
