"I wouldn't know. Didn't really have many before and even if I did there wouldn't be anyone to really talk to them about."
She'd note the touch of concern that he seemed to have and look down when the marks were mentioned. She wished she could see them, so she could understand what they were like or what they looked like rather than just what they felt like.
".....It's concerning yeah... Yeah. It's probably better to really not dwell on them too much..."
She'd tut softly and stare at the mikemon at the mention of having warrants for their arrests up there. She'd scowl and consider the consequences of doing something so brazen as they had. After all who int heir right mind... Would do something like they did for an end result such as this?
"That's fair I suppose. Not that large of a list but I don't see why they would hold it back either..."
The shutmon jerked as she realized what she was doing to her fur, she'd take her hands away. She blankly looked at her hands and then up at the mikemon before shaking her head a little bit.
"...No.. Something's wrong. I.. I don't know what though. It really doesn't make much sense to me..."
She'd exhale slowly and rub her muzzle rather forcefully; trying to piece together some things with that news. How would she know anything about the dark area? She had never really been there for very long but the memories... if she could even call them seemed vivid. Could she call these memories? She was being far too forceful with the way she was rubbing at her neck and her muzzle, as her claws were nipping her skin and drawing 'data' rather easily...
"Red. Then nothing. Then.... A thousand tiny needles."

Something was clearly wrong, but just what had set it off? Just a minute ago, K seemed rather normal, simply rubbing at an itchy neck while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee. For her to regress this much in a matter of a minute meant that Jesmon had hit another spike of data in settling the core, or something set her off.
That second thought made something click, however. Taking one look at the TV, the Mikemon gave a 'tsk', and pressed the power button on the remote. Is it even possible that she...
The cat didn't even want to consider that thought. Stepping up on the table, setting both cups of coffee onto the side, the Mikemon pressed his palm, carefully, against K's neck. His healing aura briefly rested over the scratched section, just as she explained that 'something was wrong'. "I know, I know. All I need you to do right now is breathe, K. Arms at your side." Giving two words, first as a friend and then as a doctor's order, the Mikemon looked to the door. "C'mon, let's get back to the observation room. If you can, try and put yourself down to a Renamon, so I can more easily inspect your points of injury."
With K's last remark at his ear, Mikemon gave a nod and a concerned expression, taking those to memory.
And soon enough, they would be back in the first observation room, the fox-or-wolf sitting back on the table. With a sigh, the Mikemon set the crystal ball back in its familiar stance, and peered deep into it, focusing on K through the other end. "Deep breaths, K. Keep talking to me, alright?"
That last bit was just to distract her from the terror currently reigning over her mind. For now, Mikemon's focus would be right on that orb, prepared to peer through layers and layers of her data...

The shutmon continued to rub her neck and such as she sat there, the coffee mug had for the most part no been abandoned in favor of rubbing her neck or muzzle. Though when the healing aura was used on her, the blank look faded from her face and she'd exhale very slowly. It was pained in a way that couldn't really be explained.
"R-right..."
She haltingly brought down her hands to either side, exhaling and inhaling slowly. She needed to calm down but it was getting progressively harder and harder as time passed for her to do so.
Then he asked for her to shunt down further to the renamon form, she was having trouble regulating her energy at this level. She could feel that much; she was bothered by something rather intensely and it'd be impossible for her to hold this form passively if she got too worked up.
The light was somehow still soft, warm and overburdened with energy. There was soft groan that escaped her as she was now in the renamon form that she had been so used to for so long.
It didn't take long for them to get into the first observation room considering the layout of the place. She'd be sitting on the table, hands clasped right on her lap. Her hood was down and her eyes were somewhat troubled. She was managing to breath in and out, trying to keep herself leveled.
"...I.. I don't really know what to say. Perhaps.. ah... I don't. I really have gotten rusty at making small talk..."
The renamon shook her head and rubbed her muzzle. Looking somewhat blankly at the mikemon.
The renamon's cores were as they had been before, save that one of them seemed to be a blank slate in comparison to the other two. There was soft and gentle glowing from both the red and blue core. Though the blue seemed much more intense than the red.
It didn't help that the examon core seemed to be somewhat.. Inactive for some reason. But that was just surface level for the most part.
The real problem was the age of the data, when the mikemon had looked the last time the data had seemed ancient. Beyond reason and recognition.
But now? The data was barely three days old, being stitched together by the jesmon with help from the blank core. It was a struggle the whole way from what it looked like. Each layer was more muddled than the last but the jesmon was managing to impose his own form on most of them in order to keep the renamon from shattering apart at the seams. The blue core stirred and stared back at the mikemon after a time before tiredly asking.
What is it that you need? I'm rather busy trying to keep her together.

Of course K was at a loss for words - how could she be comfortable with this at all? Up for barely an hour the first day after her core settled, and the Renamon was already back in the observation room, a concerned doctor insisting on peering into her data.
"It doesn't need to be anything meaningful," the doctor clarified. "If you can't think of anything else, just start counting. That'll do for what I need."
Apart from that, the Mikemon started to peer into K's data. The first time the Mikemon had done this, the doctor had to go through a strenuous amount of focus, to peer into what seemed to be eons and eons of data and history. This time, however, Mikemon's vision was comparatively shallow. It only took about a minute to see 'deep' enough to make out the Renamon's three cores.
Her data is much cleaner, too... though, still very much in disarray. With a 'tsk', the cat took a brief glance around to confirm: despite the stability of parts of the data structure, the data itself showed heavy signs of damage, straining all three cores within. The poor red core seemed to be doing everything it could to keep up, while the 'blank' core was being used as a tool to fuel the stability of the rest. Only the Jesmon core held any personality at all, processing code to spread to the rest of the layers.
Understandably, Jesmon was annoyed by the disturbance. However, after seeing this much, he couldn't stay silent: much like before, he gave focus, imposing his own data to make a message inside the core:
'K is in pain.' The message vanished, replaced by another: 'Night terrors. Unable to sleep. Mere mentions of the Dark Area set her off.'
One more pause... and then, Mikemon's question:
'How did she die?'

K sat there awkwardly and ran her hands along her legs a couple of times, exhaling slowly. What was she to really do? He suggested talking about anything, so of course she'd start to try to recollect the things she'd been through. Which was this long massive list of things; eventually she sputtered out as it got into more familiar territory and just settled on counting...
Though something was clearly wrong as every now and again she'd skip numbers. Like she was still having a hard time proccessing on some level.
The blue light seemed to almost sigh as it was addressed by the mikemon. It'd gingerly continue to work even with the other prescence so deep in the core, the red one didn't really so much bother to address the mikemon as it had it's own connections to make alongside of the jesmon's.
The core grumbled and shifted, gently gesturing at all the data that was somewhat spinning about. Little bits of lag here and there as his attention deviated.
Not a surprise, The event was quite tramatic. The night terrors are her data trying to process what happened before a proper data cycle.
The core paused at the question and there was a small but somewhat explosive sigh that was generated on both the data and physical level. Though the latter couldn't explain what really brought on that sensation.
She died in battle, trying to protect a weregarurumon. Fighting a duo of creatures. One modeled after a reppamon and the other was.. Something I've never seen before. The reppamon cut into her hip early in the fight, the strange creature latched itself onto her and detonated.... Which forced Her to go all the way down to rookie or risk being unable to regulate the data.
There was another pause and the core had to deal with making a few more connections before returning to the conversation properly.
The reppamon had an easy prey at that point. Pinned her down, put it's fangs to her neck. Snapped it like you would a twig. Her data couldn't hold and she completely digitized. Examon, Gracenovamon and myself were left bare for all but a moment. I grabbed as much data of K's as I could before warping us out. Spent about a day piecing her back together before giving her the idea of coming here.
The jesmon core looked pained for a few moments.
Another event like that before she's stable and she won't be coming back. Core or not.

Somewhere deep down, the Mikemon knew this was the most likely possibility. However, even as the professional he was, the doctor didn't want to admit it: admit, what the Jesmon had said so plainly:
K had died - died, in the Dark Area, trying to protect a dear friend. Apparently, she had squared off against a Reppamon and some sort of abomination, and was left on the back foot the entire time. Cut in her hip, caught in the blast of a self-destructive attack, and even hunted down in the end by a ravenous Reppamon. These facts alone were enough to be of concern, especially learning that Jesmon had just barely managed to piece together K in the end.
But, adding in the TV report and the files Mikemon had in his hand - about Datamon's own crew being taken over by the D-Reaper - was enough to make the Mikemon look visibly ill. Staring down into that data for a moment longer, the cat thought for a moment, and wrote a response:
'Thank you. Ignore me if I look inside to check again, unless I speak to you first.' The message vanished, replaced by another: 'Just doing my duty as a doctor.'
A few moments later, Mikemon raised his head from the crystal ball, rubbing his eye. With that confirmed, everything made sense, even K's missed numbers in counting! "K? Don't worry, I'm back..." The cat gave a sigh, shaking his head as he tried to figure out what to say. He couldn't just lie, but...
"I... don't know how else to say it, K. Everything you saw in the dream - that nightmare, was something that happened to you just two days ago." The cat's voice was calm and professional, even as he reached a hand out to calmly grip around the Renamon's.
"... I'm sorry."

The jesmon continued to work on the data; 'glancing' at the mikemon time and time again as the other digimon considered what he had said. The super mega paused and frowned as the cat looked like he was ill. What was he supposed to say other than the truth? It wouldn't do either one of them any good if he lied about it.
I shouldn't even be really talking at this point, there's so much for me to do. Examon isn't taking this whole ordeal well either as you can tell. This will be the last time we'll talk for a while.
The orb turned back to his work and let the doctor leave without much fuss. There was still so much for him to address and sitting around talking wasn't going to solve any of it.
The Examon orb on the other hand took a considerable pause to watch the doctor's presence leave before huffing and getting back to work on the portions of data she could manage. She wasn't good with this delicate work but it needed to be done if they could eventually solidify into one proper core...
K rubbed the back of her head and stopped herself from counting. Staring blankly at the doctor as he raised his head from the crystal ball. She'd blink owlishly and tilted her head slowly; looking a mix of uncertain and somewhat... afraid.
However when the mikemon spoke to her, told her that everything she saw in the dream was real the renamon visibly shuddered. All the way down to her cores. She didn't know what to do, but her jaw simply dropped and flapped for a few moments as she tried to figure out what to say. It was a long ten or so minutes of her sitting there trying to wrap her head around what he had said.
"....How am... How am I like this then...? Alive. I mean. When a digimon dies we... we go back to the village and become an egg. How could I skip that step entirely?"

Jesmon and Examon would be left to focus on their work, and for a long while, Mikemon wouldn't be speaking to either of them. At the very least, the two were presented everything they needed to try and keep their host together.
The knights had their jobs cut out for them on the inside. It was K and Mikemon who had to deal with the effects on the outside... and understandably, the Renamon was confused. With her stunned in silence, the cat gave a silent sigh, and moved to sit next to her. This wasn't an easy thing to hear, of course, but the Mikemon would let her think for as long as she needed to. Occasionally, his gloved hand would curl up over the Renamon's, giving the smallest of grips, just to let her know that he was there.
And eventually, she spoke: why did she still exist? "If you were to vanish entirely, the three cores that were inside of you would have ceased to be." The Mikemon gave a nod, his tail giving an idle flick behind him: "Not wanting that to pass, Jesmon collected as much of your data as possible, and fled from th... the Reppamon. He re-constituted your data as best he could, and gave you the idea to come to my office, to help it settle in the rest of the way. Because of all of that, you still exist here, in this form."
Saying that, the cat gave a low breath, piecing the rest of it together in his head. "As for how you died, well, a Wizardmon in the Dark Area created a group to handle such occurrences. According to their reports, the appearance of the D-Reaper - those red, crazy-looking creatures - caused the lot of them to go mad. I... I don't know if I should be saying this, but..."
He paused. "It... was Guru."

K was rather thankful that the mikemon gave her time to think about things. There was a lot to proccess and even more so with the information she was given here. She'd curl her free hand into a fist and gingerly tap it against her leg. She didn't look pleased at all.
"That makes sense... But.. ugh.. that would explain all the things that have been happening in the last couple days... and my entire problem."
Her expression soured and she'd sigh softly again, she was glad that she had someone to share this with even if it was just her doctor.. Well. More than just her doctor really. She'd exhale slowly and then pause as he continued.
Her expression grew curious and she'd furrow her brows as he explained about the wizardmon. The only one that she had met would be that whole fiasco with that tower...
"Is it the same wizardmon that we did that experiement with?"
Then the name D-reapers; something she had never heard before. But it was connected to those crazy red creatures? Was that the floating thing that- Her free hand came up to her head as a headache almost immediately split her skull in such an intensity that made her gag.
However. The last statement made her freeze in place; her eyes widened and she'd slowly look at the mikemon. The sheer level of shock that was present only lasted for a few long moments before it hardened considerably.
"That explains... a couple things. The glint in his eye and.. those tears."
She'd grit her teeth a bit and clench her hand again, looking extremely bothered but rather determined.
"So what do we do now? What do I do now that that happened to me? That I was broken under the fangs of someone I got help from?"
There was a pause and her expression grew cold; a sigh escaped from her and she'd tap her neck thoughtfully.
"I don't think I can do anything anyways. The thing that took me out did so when I was in mega..."

It wasn't easy breaking news like this, but as frustrated as K seemed, the Renamon seemed to take it better than the doctor expected. Everything that was happening to her right now had a cause he could identify, and her cores were already beginning the process of restoring her stability.
The verification alone seemed to calm K somewhat, even if it wasn't exactly what she wanted to hear. As K questioned if this Wizardmon was the same sorcerer as the one manipulating the Dark Spire, Mikemon shook his head, brushing his nose at the back of his glove. "No, not at all. We don't know where that Wisemon went, but the Wizardmon I'm referring to now had a hearing at the same time in the Empyrian Skies. He's not related to the experiment." And at the very least, the cat could at least trust this wizard to handle at least a few things correctly.
As K winced with another headache, the doctor gave a sigh, his hand cautiously moving to rub her back. There was no other way to put it: the next few days were going to suck for her. Randomly changing forms, unease in sleep, and random splitting headaches were just going to be the reality for a while. The Renamon was ill, and it was going to take some time to get better.
"... I'll try and see if I can dig up what happened to him, K. I hate to put what he did so lightly, but Guru must have been in absolute agony." That said, the cat's ear flicked as K spoke of 'what to do next'?
"Right now, it's not your concern, K. All you can do is rest. Let your data stabilize like we originally planned, and follow both mine and Stingmon's recommendations. It goes without saying that I don't want you to leave the city. If something goes wrong in the next few days, well, we can be here to catch you."
With that, the Mikemon finally managed a smile, clasping both of his hands around one of the Renamon's own. "It's going to suck. But I'm not going to let you go through it alone, alright?"

The renamon rubbed her muzzle thoughtfully; if it wasn't the same wizardmon that was a part of that whole fiasco she figured she could trust them a little more then. She still wondered to herself where that particular one had went but.. There wasn't much she could do about that one.
"That's a relief honestly; but it's also somewhat worrying if he's having to deal with this... issue."
She'd frown a bit and consider that threat as a whole; it was going to be a consistent problem if it wasn't dealt with properly. There was so little information readily available.. She'd exhale softly and shake her head slowly; the headache once again spiking. She needed to take it easy; she shouldn't really be thinking about stuff like this at a time like this.
"He must of been as he seemed powerless to stop what was going to happen. I know that he wanted to talk to Jesmon at least once...."
She'd grit her teeth and find that her ears lowered on their own. He was right. It wasn't her concern, she needed to rest and stabilize herself... But that didn't make it any easier for her to do. She'd sigh softly and rub her muzzle before gingerly returning the clasp. Even throwing in giving the mikemon a soft hug.
"Right.. I suppose it's really all I can do. It's just going to be a mess to get better."
She'd give him a small grin and nodded after a few long moments.
"I know. Thank you."
There was a momentary pause and the renamon's face grew thoughtful before she started to snicker.
"On the bright side of things, At least we can spend a bit of time together. Even if it is just this."

Indeed, Guru wasn't the type who would even think of doing something like this. To be forced so far out of his character, corrupted in such a short span of time, to even be able to wound another who was in his care! Seeing K grit her teeth, the Mikemon curled his hand up over the Renamon's.
Unfortunately, there was little either of them could do in that case. Sharing a brief hug with her, the cat gave his own chuckle at her comment: "Heh. Not quite what I had in mind - but if it's with you?" The cat flicked his tail. "I think I'll manage."
Unfortunately, it wouldn't all be fun and games. K's condition through the rest of that day was still markedly unstable, and though she may had come to terms with her end, it didn't make the 'growing pains' of her cores settling in any easier. In all likelihood, the Renamon probably spent most of her day in the observation room, with either Stingmon or Mikemon to tend and watch over her progress. Whether it was a Renamon, a Shutmon, a CresGarurumon, the two would do whatever they could to ease her time along.
The next day, hopefully, would be a better one - not just because the cores now had a day and two full nights to settle in, but because Mikemon had one less hand to work with:
"You sure this will be alright?" Standing by the front door, a single bag slung over his shoulder, the Stingmon looked down at the cat.
"Don't worry about it. The alternative is me going and having to explain what I was doing with Lucemon's totem." Waving the Stingmon off, the door clicked behind him, the Mikemon letting out a small sigh. "Oi, oi..."

K couldn't help but give the mikemon a little smile and gentle pat on the head. His affection as low key as it was, was certainly more than enough for her. It wasn't overbearing like some could be and it wasn't non-existant. It was just at the right place for the right moment.
She'd find herself coughing awkwardly and rubbing the back of her head; a faint tinge of blush on her cheeks as he spoke. She'd gingerly give his hand a squeeze and chuckle softly.
"Surprised as I am about this whole ordeal.. It's certainly got me in a nice place, with a nice mon."
The day was more or less what she had expected. She didn't like the fact that she kept switching between different forms, some of them she was comfortable in and others not so much. There was even one span of time she was her champion form; a Leomon-X. Though not much had changed with it past the coloration of fur and armor it was still...
Odd.
Upon the next day she found herself oddly better; she felt remarkably better. Didn't have the same sort of migraines immediately and wasn't dealing with a form shift every so often. At least thus far. She'd look herself over a couple times before frowning slowly.
Something was off and she couldn't quite place it up until jesmon himself mentioned it. Her focus waned for a moment and she'd give herself a slow look over. She was in her shutmon form that much could be certain.
But she lacked it's distinctive armor, blades and weaponry. The only clothing she had was of the jesmon's cloak. She looked so simular to her renamon state that it was almost easy to mistake the two... If she wasn't about three feet taller than it and much more muscled. With a soft tut she'd consider taking a seat but realized that she might need to address this with mikemon first...
So of course the 'shutmon' made it quickly to near the front of the office before coughing as she saw the mikemon by the front door. If there was ever a way for the wolfish ultimate to look or seem uncomfortable.. This was it.
"Bit of a problem, but less of a problem than I was thinking... But ah.. Good morning Dear."

Well, it looked like Mikemon was flying solo today. Thankfully, the doctor only had one patient to be concerned with today - unfortunately, that patient was just yesterday showing signs of several troubling complications. If only the cat had a few more hours to perfect that core, perhaps K wouldn't be in such bad shape!
No, no... the Mikemon shook that thought out of his head. He'd done everything he could, and now he just had to see K through it to the end. Soon enough, the patient herself made her appearance. His ear twitched as K gave her words, the feline turning to face her...
... And after a glance, he just chuckled! "Oh! Oh, no, K, sorry..." With a smile, the cat shook his head. "It's just that... if this is all I have to worry about today, we're going to be fine. Actually, this might mean you're more stable than I thought you'd be." What did he mean by that? Taking a moment to take a breath, leveling his tone, the cat continued to explain:
"That's just, um, 'Equipment Load Failure'. Essentially, it means your forms are missing auxiliary equipment - which should be consistent through all your forms. CresGarurumon won't have his armor either, and the Renamon probably won't have gloves. That aside, its usually caused from rapidly Digivolving and De-Digivolving several times over a short frame, or after absorbing a large amount of data - like the equipment won't 'process' properly. Really, all it means is that you have a touch more lag than normal."
Maybe that would be enough to quell her concerns? "At any rate, you look quite a bit better than you did last night, hun. Sleep well?"

The intial ear twitch that the cat gave worried the Shutmon slightly; she wasn't sure if this was a good or bad thing. If her apperance stayed like this for a while she wondered if it would end up being permanant. That'd be bad considering many of her forms had exterior weapons or things that relied on armor points...
Though once he chuckled the shutmon pulled the collar of cloak up enough to cover the flush that spread onto her cheeks. The relief that she could hear from the mikemon's voice mixed with the amusement enough to stimulate a reaction like this.
"It's possible that Jesmon kicked it into high gear, he's been awfully quiet compared to yesterday and there haven't been any.. Wierd jumps. If it means I'm more stable that's no doubt a good thing."
She'd tilt her head a little bit at his explanation before looking down at herself once more. Sure she was missing litterally everything other than this cloak but... She had to admit that it wasn't so bad. If it just meant things were failing to load because of that constant shifting earlier that was fine. It just meant they had to catch up right? She'd exhale slowly and give the mikemon a soft smile.
"So patience is key on this then, I see why you're less worried about it hah... I haven't checked the other forms but I don't want to really mess with them as I'm worried digivolution might mess up Jesmon's rhythm."
She looked a bit more relaxed and gingerly sat down in a nearby chair, oofing softly as she was trying to get used to moving a little faster as she wasn't technically wearing anything. Which of course meant the usual weight wasn't there.
"I'd say so, it was quiet.. I woke up a few times because of that... Particular occurrence. I didn't digivolve into jesmon thankfully, but I did find myself in this form. Without the uh. Gear bits. How about yourself? I hope your work didn't keep you too busy...."
There was a small pause and she'd rub the back of her head.
"What is the plan for today?"
